Hazbin establishes very strong parallels between Charlie and Vaggie’s relationship and Lucifer and Lilith’s.
Charlie being as to Lucifer, the fantastical dreamer discouraged and rejected by the world around them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Vaggie being as to Lilith, someone who failed their assigned role and were driven out of ‘paradise’ (Heaven/Eden) by someone they should have been able to trust (Lute/Adam).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In their most vulnerable moments Lucifer and Charlie find them, love blossoming between each pair because they defied the norm, Lucifer and Lilith being rebellious in a world of order and Charlie and Vaggie being kind in a world of cruelty.
Though at the same time, Charlie is to Lilith while Vaggie is to Lucifer.
Tumblr media
“This kingdom was something she really cared about. Something I care about.”
Charlie acknowledges she is the last thread of the hope her mother gave to Hell all those thousands of years ago. The responsibility to her home Charlie puts on her shoulders is born from the love Lilith had for it. She is directly following in her mother’s footsteps, truly believing her people deserve better and that they’re worth fighting for.
Then there is their partners, the fallen angels who don’t share their love’s connection to Hell. Lucifer saw sinners as horrible people who wasted the gift he went to Hell for giving them. Vaggie always kept everyone not named Charlie a spear’s distance away, treating them as people she tolerated but never trusted for a moment. Despite what Heaven had done, had done to them, they were still thinking like angels.
(Though, these mentalities would change throughout the first season, Lucifer choosing to support Charlie no matter what and Vaggie accepting the hotel crew as a part of the in-group which she wishes to protect)
Lucifer’s distaste for his people, not fighting alongside Lilith’s rebellion and instead agreeing to the exterminations, seems to be why they eventually split, despite the love they held for each other. In extreme contrast, Vaggie always supporting Charlie is what keeps them together despite bumps in their relationship. Vaggie always chose to believe in and support Charlie and that means the world and more to Charlie, who spent so much of her life unsupported.
The show also juxtaposes Lucifer’s parental love for Charlie with Vaggie’s romantic love for her, most prominently with Vaggie starting the reprise of More Than Anything to express her love as Lucifer did originally.
(They’re also just. Charlie and Lilith being these tall powerful demon women with Vaggie and Lucifer being their short and tiny fallen angel loves)
What becomes interesting is during the finale when Lucifer (very strongly, very tastefully) implies he ate out Adam’s first wife before fucking his second.
This seems to based on sexual interpretations of original sin. However, in Hazbin we are very much lead to believe the Fruit of Knowledge is a literal apple. Given that Lilith is said to have also offered the apple to Eve, I doubt the implication is that Luci had any sort of one night stand with Eve. Rather, I think Lilith, Eve, and him were once, or attempted to be, in a romantic relationship.
Tumblr media
(Considering Eve was made to be Adam’s lesser and Lucifer and Lilith shared the gift of free will with her specifically, I do wonder if Eve had fallen in love with the two, but was unable to leave Adam. The Fruit of Knowledge being given to her so she would be able to be free and join their relationship, but ultimately resulted in their separation as Lucifer and Lilith were casted into Hell)
Which certainly has implications about the future of Charlie and Vaggie’s relationship.
I think the show has actually set very compelling parallels between Eve and Emily.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Much as Lucifer shared forbidden knowledge with Eve, it’s Charlie’s actions that revealed the hidden truth of Heaven’s exterminations. There’s the specific ‘free will’ which Eve was gifted, which fits with Charlie’s influence giving Emily the ‘free will’ to defy Sera and act against Heaven.
I’ve also talked before about the possibility Emily was brought into existence to fill Lucifer’s place in Heaven. Considering the protective relationship Sera has with Emily, along with her looks of genuine horror at her acting against Heaven, it brings to mind the idea Sera has been fearful that Emily would fall just as Lucifer did for Emily’s entire existence, and as such raised her to be more likely to never stray from Heaven as Lucifer did. Which could add to why Sera hid Heaven’s genocide from her despite Emily being a high ranking seraphim; she couldn’t risk giving Emily a reason to rebel.
Which would be a very striking analogue between the two. Both living replacements for the fallen, born into someone else’s shadow to take their place, intended to be the more docile and proper version of Lilith and Lucifer, less likely to stray from the roles they were created to fill. Though, of course, we know Eve fell to temptation and maybe-probably-definitely left or tried to leave Adam, and that Emily is walking the edge.
(Emily having ties to both Lucifer and Eve seems relevant with how Charlie and Vaggie each have parallels to Lucifer and Lilith. Perhaps in her fall, we’ll see Emily ‘thrive in Hell’ just as Lilith did, and similarities between Charlie and Vaggie to Eve will pop up the more we learn about her?)
What’s also interesting is that Eve ‘falling into temptation’ (choosing Lucifer and Lilith over her preordained role) is what separated her from them. However, if Emily were to choose supporting Charlie’s dream over her place in Heaven, then her falling would be what brought her to Charlie and Vaggie. Thereby their situation acts as a foil to the previous generation’s.
And Emily supporting Charlie is very relevant. In More Than Anything we get the exchange of:
“I’ll support your dream whatever lies in store.”
“And who could ask for more?”
Tumblr media
Because Charlie can’t think of anything more she could ask. Charlie’s idea of love and being loved is so heavily based on support and being supported. It’s a part of the conflict in Hell’s Greatest Dad, that Lucifer is being genuine and Alastor manipulative, but Alastor is the one actually providing Charlie with what she asks of him, which Lucifer never has. Charlie shows her love for Hell by believing in them, that they can improve, they deserve safety, and they have worth. It’s why Vaggie’s love is so important to Charlie, because for a long time, she was the only one believing in her.
And what does Emily do?
Tumblr media
“I don’t know-”
“Yeah, let’s give him a chance!”
She supports Charlie! She believes and trusts her and argues on her behalf. She’s the only angel in Heaven to have faith in Charlie’s dream. Having Emily in the position of a fallen angel, falling right into Charlie’s arms, Charlie caring for her and nursing her back to health, with her being someone who very deeply believes in her, would be the same conditions that made Charlie fall in love with Vaggie three years ago.
Then for Vaggie, Emily also has a lot of the textbook traits that she loves Charlie for. The overexcited-ness, the care she has for others, even the way she doesn’t pull rank. And what she hasn’t expressed, that being seeing value in Vaggie where she herself does not, it feels natural that Emily would express that in the way Charlie does upon learning Vaggie’s history. We’ve seen her sense of justice and her horror at Heaven’s actions, so her deeply sympathizing with Vaggie would be entirely expected, and would be a very easy way for Vaggie to catch feelings for Emily.
However, there is this:
Tumblr media
Which suggests the direction of a jealous Vaggie. I think that works, at least initially, with Vaggie feeling insecure in her relationship with Charlie after Emily falling and being cared for by Charlie in the way she was all that time ago. Those feelings heavily changing however, at the realization that Emily is crushing on her just as much as she is Charlie and how deeply relatable to her Emily’s circumstances and trauma would be.
Then on Emily’s side, not only would she have very much been thinking and focusing on Charlie prior to her fall, once she does, she lands in a very emotionally volatile situation where Charlie and Vaggie are supporting her so much and caring for her so deeply. It makes sense that this would translate to her developing feelings for the both of them.
(Now, this is a bit less definitive, but with Emily’s design, the long hair and dress that covers every inch of her short of her fingers, and Heaven being a stand in for the imperialist church, I do read the coming-of-age story the show has set up for her to be one of a conservative christian raised girl striking out of the doctrine she grew up in and finding community in the people her home had demonized, or at least an allegory for such. So having her develop romantic feelings for two ‘vile and blasphemous’ women in a very non-monogamous way would be very thematically relevant I think)
I would say this all works great as an analogue to Lucifer, Lilith, and Eve. Eve being in the unfortunate situation of Adam’s wife but finding comfort in Lucifer and Lilith and falling for the both of them as Emily would as a fallen angel being comforted by Charlie and Vaggie. Lucifer seeing Lilith reflected in Eve and caring for and helping her as he did before being parallel to Charlie helping Emily as she did Vaggie. Lilith initially feeling negativity towards the woman made to replace her bond so closely with her new love, only to realize Eve is falling for her just as much as she is for Lucifer and empathizing with Eve’s situation so deeply, just like Vaggie.
Then, there’s Adam and Lute. I already mentioned that they play parallel with forcing Lilith and Vaggie out of their respective paradises. Their dynamics are built on Adam and Lute punishing, and their domination over, Lilith and Vaggie, because they need to know their place: beneath them. (There’s also the interpretation of that Lute had or has romantic feelings for Vaggie, which is certainly relevant) The show is being very clear with Lute being Adam’s successor I feel, with her taking on his position as leader of the exorcists following his death.
Then, her line: “Your brat is threatening the very foundation of Heaven.” Personally, that makes me think of a sediment Adam would feel towards Lucifer. That’s he is the source of every problem, that he stole his wives (ignoring that Lilith left him before even meeting Luci), and that he destroyed paradise, Eden. Now that Vaggie and Lute’s conflict has seemingly come to a close, I think the show will be shifting to a Lute vs Charlie conflict, much as Adam shifted from Lilith to his hatred for Lucifer.
Now, if the show wants to push a Adam-Eve dynamic with Lute and Emily, what I could imagine is Lute protecting onto Emily in a very one sided way, where she thinks Charlie has ‘corrupted’ the seraphim (threatening heaven’s foundation) and she must personally ‘save’ her, which would very much align with how Adam would feel towards Lucifer’s influence on Eve.
Now, we can tell that Lucifer, Lilith, and Eve’s relationship Did Not pan out particularly well. So I think much like how Charlie and Vaggie have succeeded where Lilith and Lucifer failed, Charlie, Vaggie, and Emily is going to be the successful foil to their attempted relationship. Then for Lute, I think it becomes a question of: does she accept the olive branch Adam did not, does she eventually understand that she is doing wrong, does she accept mercy, or does she continue down Adam’s path, digging her own grave as he did; except that unlike Adam, there won’t be anyone to cry for her?
And y’know, the angel and 3 immortal humans versus the demon/half immortal human and 3 angels serves as a nice counter.

could i get prompt 13 and 14 with george x fem!reader
—mirrorball
Tumblr media
pairing: george x reader
summary: george is struggling, but able to tell the reader what’s been going on with him
warnings: none
prompts: are bold
George was sitting in the living room of portland row, working on a crossword puzzle
"hey" you greeted, as you sat down next to him. "how are you?"
"I'm good, why'd you ask?" he didn't even look up from his writing.
"you have been quiet these past few days, I'm worried. I mean you would tell me if anything was wrong, right?" George nodded absently "sure" his voice sounded drained and you weren't even sure of he had listened to you.
"George" you dragged out his name and poked his side with your fingers "speak with me, please"
"what do you want to hear?" he sounded tired, and you regretted your playful manner to treat the situation.
"I want to hear, what you have to say" you answered, honestly and serious "I want you to tell me what's bothering you, so I can get rid of it"
"I don't think you could get rid of Lockwood and Lucy" he breathed, writing down the word 'attention', before he looked up at you for the first time. "that'd be illegal. because that's murder"
"ehh" you made, unsure what to answer "Lockwood and Lucy are what's bothering you?"
"no, not particularly them. its just, they leave me out of the stuff most of the time, I"ve gotten used to it by now, but still"
"oh George" you smiled sadly "you could've told me sooner. do you have the feeling I leave you out of stuff too?"
he shrugged "sometimes, but I know you don't do it on purpose, just like they don't"
you heart nearly broke upon hearing his words and tears welled up in your eyes. "I wish I had known, George. i'm so sorry" you squeezed his hand
he shrugged again. "most of the time I don't mind. but sometimes I feel lonely" he paused "i've tried to keep up, change those things about myself that differentiate myself from you three. be more reckless like Lockwood, brave like Lucy and adventurous like you, but it just isn't as easy as I thought it would be"
he looked up to you once again and a single tear escaped his eye. "I thought if I changed, I would fit in better"
"you fit in just right" you assured
"I don't know" George shook his head "back when Lockwood founded the agency he only had me, and he needed me. but now, he has Lucy and you and you can do what I could and even more, you're smart and you're good at fighting ghosts. I lack the second quality" he shrugged with a half smile on his face "no one would care if I suddenly disappeared"
you shook your head, tears screaming down your face "I would"
George's words broke your heart. not only how he felt, but that he come to a conclusion where he found it absolutely logical that he wasn't needed. that he didn't fit in and would never. you knew about his family. the brothers that had, in his eyes, achieved so much more than him. you had hoped that it would be different for him here. he was needed and loved and he was a part of this.
"please stop acting like there's no one that cares about you. because that's simply not true" you shook your head as hard as you could "we love you so much George, and we need you. not just on the team, but as our friend, our family"
"I don't know, y/n"
"it breaks my heart hearing you say those things, they're far from true. but we can work on it, George, I promise. whatever will make you feel better. we won't let you go, you're not disposable you're needed and loved and I'm sorry we made you feel like you aren't. I will make personally sure, that'll never happen again, okay? but please in the future, just tell us how you feel. we are a family and we care about you"
George nodded and for the first time, it seemed like you had woken him out of his trance.
"thank you" he smiled softly, squeezing your hand
you engulfed him in a hug, plastering kisses onto his cheeks and you could hear him giggle "I wouldn't know what to do without you" you assured.
"I'm glad you don't have to think about it" he joked and you squeezed him even harder.

Hazbin Hotel 7-8 (Spoil McNoil)
Hazbin Hotel is indeed not an action show.
But at least they tried to have some action.
Should they have tried tho?
Tumblr media
(I'm gonna start out ripping, but, I don't hate this show, it's actually pretty funny that does some things super well but then just bumble fucks other big moments)
I mean, here's the thing, they're great at street fights, apparently. Vaggie vs Lute was pretty brutal, I felt like I was watching two bird tear eachother apart. Like a scene out of Gardians of Ga'Hoole.
But the ninja anime fantasy, martial arts type stuff was pretty weak, and didn't really track as something the characters would utilize. Like, Alastor is a cannibalistic voodoo serial killer from 1930's New Orleans. And twice before we've seen Alastor grow and contort to intimidate, kill, etc. But he doesn't do any of that against Adam except for that one aesthetic moment. Instead it's got generic "Tentril powers, GO!" vibes. Husker and Charlie also have this problem. Why is an American Gambler using cards like ninja stars? He can fly dude-- or, can he?
Can Husker fly?
And Charlie- like, she has a sheild, but she can only really use it to protect herself :/ Like, girl, just go inside.
Lucy beating the shit out of Adam was cut so short, Like, 2 secs and 4 punches b4 Charlie goes "DAD STOP ITS TOO MUCH"-- no, let Lucy COOK; I think it would have actually been an interesting point to make on how the reason Lucifer gives for discouraging the Hotel is sinner's being "The Worst", yet here he is clearly having a fit of violence (an understandable one but, Charlie, who's never even been to heaven except for a bs court hearing, has to remind a high-ranking angel to have mercy.) Charlie, razz and Dazz transforming didn't really do anything-- it actually felt more like a game of thrones reference, which would be fine if Razz or Dazz DID anything except die. They also didn't explain Carmilla's motive for helping them well. Like, neat entrance, but the build ups to the pay offs didn't exist :,O
And the voice acting: These guys are great singers, but the noises they make when they get hit, their mid-battle dialogue, is so corny and tonally off for certain characters. Like, Alastor and Charlie's yells in particular are- pardon my accent but cringe af.
Charlie in particular has so many anti-climatic moments. If they meant for her to not be particularly good at fighting, maybe establish that and not have all these super dramatic badass magical girl moments that just lead to her getting dunked on. It was so anticlimactic jeezuz christ.
And really it's more about picking a tone, the anti climactic moments could have been funny if they framed it as a funny moment or a joke, but it's framed seriously so it's read seriously.
But, who doesn't bumble fuck around how to end something though. I've read some juicy, golden touch stories that really freaked out on the gas and steering at the end. So, this isn't anything uncommon, especially for relatively new creators.
They have flaws, who doesn't. I loved so much about this show even when my first impression going in was just cringing at it not being what I expected. This is a critique of love, guys, I genuine wish the best for this show, bc it's apparent that when Viv has the freedom and breathing room she needs to plan and pace, she can cook up a good ass goddamned meal (See: Helluva Boss, Season one). This was them crunching and smushing a ton of story and moments into too-few episodes, which, looking back could have been done better, but its easy to see how something can be better once it's done and out in the world. (See: literally any amature artist 2 seconds after posting their work)
The season finale ended with so many good set ups tho! :D
Lilith vacaying in heaven, having made a deal with Adam.
Tumblr media
Alastor becoming desperate for a way out, having made deals with Vaggie and Charlie-- And far more explicitly there against his will. Also--is a future antagonist?
Tumblr media
Yes PLEASE. I love that they showed Al loosing his shit through his eyes even with the smile he's always wearing. And they built this up before hand having him talk previously about wearing a smile, basically as a mask.
PENTIOUS
YOU REDEEMED FU-
Tumblr media
(I was actually cringing at Pentious the entire time inep 8, I'm sorry but he's so hard to take seriously-- even his "death" was funny as hell. I love him but its like how someone loves a clumsy puppy that destroys your house without neither malice nor remorse)
Also: The exorcists switching leaders- I am wondering how things are gonna change with them, especially given how much more sadistic and violent Lute is. Like, Adam just liked laughing at sinners. He saw them as insults to his existance, his mini-me hates and seems like she just enjoys violence and malice, using ego and "they deserve it" narratives as an excuse to indulge in acts that ordinarily would lan someone in hell.
Overall-- Not the best season finale I've ever seen, execution-wise through these 8 episodes (like, Vaggie got her wings learning to fight for love, but she's been doing nothing but supporting and protecting Charlie this whole time. There was no hint that she was bitter or wanted revenge). They definitely needed to pace and build things better but there's so much to love. Like, Seeing Alastor in his element with Rosie and Nifty was so fun, even if they were small moments (his laugh is so stiff tho, c'mon Al.)
The finale did a good job setting up the future, but I don't have much more to say than that. Hopefully, now that they know they're getting a second season, they'll just, breathe on this one a bit more ya?
I'm glad I watched it, I cried, I laughed, I cringed, I yelled at Pentious for subjecting me to second hand embarrassment. It's great :,D
Also- I hope he doesn't read this and takes it the wrong way, but Vox reminds me of my brother-- Especially with the scenes where he's watching the battle :,D

My thoughts on... Black Widow 2020 afterword
This was an absolute incredible run, despite it being so short it delivers on so much. Amazing story, emotional and gutwrenching moments, incredible art, interesting characters. This run really has it all! I did not expect to love it as much as I ended up doing! I had quite high expectations on this run because I had heard so much praise about it and it still manages to beat all of them.
Seeing Nat's constant battle with grief and trauma was super interesting and it felt so real. The thoughts she was feeling, they were overwhelming, confusing, didn't always agree with each other. It was so intriguing to see her navigate all of that. Desperately trying to give what happened to her a place, but in the end being unable to do that and just accepting that it'll be a part of her forever. Nat is such a tragic and bittersweet character. She's been through so much, had so many terrible things happen to her and yet she remains strong and good at heart no matter what absolute gutwrenching thing happens to her. And to me that is what makes her really interesting, seeing her navigate all that and still being able to be a hero, even if she does carry a lot of guilt, sadness and trauma within her. She still fights and never gives up even though those thoughts will always be with her. There is a kind of sad, melachonical and bittersweet feeling withing it. This girl who has been through so much and carries so much things with her that she'll never get rid of while still trying her best to be stronger and better, and still the worst still happens to her and even then she just pushes through. Is able to be this amazing hero who's just extremely cool and badass. No matter how painful or terrible it is, no matter if she can put it behind her or has to accept she'll be carrying those feelings forever. It's incredible how strong she is not only physically but also mentally. It's also these aspects that really made me look up to and love the character in the mcu so much. And I will say this run really reminded me of the reasons why I like her as a character so much. It was great to reconnect with that. The first arc of this run really left me speechless. I did not expect it to hit me so hard. It was such a gutwrenching story that was executed so well with some of the best art i've seen. Seeing Nat breakdown in front of Bucky will be a moment I'll always remember from this run because of how much impact it had. That entire first arc was perfect really, some of the best comics i've ever read! The other two arcs were also really strong although they do kind of suffer in the end as it really feels as if this run ended before they could properly explore those storylines. Although I do feel they were able to close off the Apogee arc pretty well for the given timeframe. The Living Blade sadly wasn't able to get a solid conclusion. I really hope they'll explore it somewhere in the future as there is a lot of interesting ways they could explore what his deal is. Same goes for Lucy, she was a pretty interesting addition but It felt like they never were really able to scratch what lies beyond the surface when it comes to her. I hope they're able to do that at some point because there is so much directions you could take her character in to. I absolutely loved the team Nat assembled in this run. I really didn't expect Spider-Girl to fit in so well within this team but they made it work so well. I absolutely love that she was in this, as she's a hero i've been dying to know and read more about ever since reading Web-Warriors (2015). Her dynamic with Lucy was also really fun. I wished Kate Bishop was a permanent addition to the team though. She was a lot of fun for the short period she showed up. Nat and Yelena's dynamic was also a highlight for me. Seeing them work together as a team and adjusting to that was so cool and they're just so badass together. Seeing them work as one in every battle was incredibly cool, especially with how the art visualized it. Speaking of the art, every page was just breathtaking! All the action panels had so much to them that you could find new things even after staring at them for 5 minutes! It's defintely some of the best if not the best art i've seen in a comicbook so far!
I also have to mention that I just absolutely love her new suit, like i was so obsessed with it. It's just her best look i've seen in the comics and it just fits the character so well. It's absolutely perfect! This run was absolutely phenominal and probably one of my favorite comics I've read so far. I had an absolute blast reading it start to finish. This run is pretty much an amazing all in package for everything you'd want out of a comicbook I feel (at least for me!). It made me feel a lot of emotions and just left me in awe multiple times, whether it'd be for the emotional moments or the amazing art. I loved the team Nat put together in this and the threats she was up against. I also love that I was able to learn so much about the comics side of Black Widow as a character. She's always been one of my all time favs in the mcu so I am so glad i got to read this run. It made me appreciate the character so much and really reminded my of why I loved the character so much in the mcu. I really hope they're able to revisit/continue this run at some point. It has so much untapped potential, especially with how strong the creative team for it is. And there are so many characters that are just waiting to be explored further, such as Lucy. But I am satisfied with what I got in these 15 issues. It was a short but sweet run that I'll always remember!

Seven Sins Challenge: Which of your OCs fits pride, greed, wrath, envy, lust, gluttony and sloth. Then pass it on...
Ooh, thank you @treason-and-plot for this ask! This was incredibly fun to think about!
These definitions are from Wikipedia, and I put them here mainly for my own purposes, because I wanted to make sure I understood them right.
Sorry, this got long! I added pictures! 😁
Pride— “Pride is the opposite of humility.”
Tumblr media
Fiona’s lifetime wish is world domination, so, yeah, lol!
She thinks of herself as basically godlike, which is the opposite of humility. Funny that it sounds like pride is considered to be the worst deadly sin, and Fiona is the only sim in my game that I’ve deliberately given the “evil” trait. She was amusingly terrible in her younger stories, but I have some future stories of her in the coming years that are a little scary.
Greed— “an inordinate desire to acquire or possess more than one needs, especially with respect to material wealth.”
Tumblr media
Lauren. I wasn’t sure whether to put Lauren for greed or envy. Both maybe? At first glance you might even think of her as prideful, but inside she is deeply insecure and desperate, so that’s not pride. She just always wants more. She even wants more of the things she already has. Like, she has a boyfriend who adores her, but she wants more of his attention and all of his time. Her parents take her on a vacation, and she asks why wasn’t it a more luxurious one? She doesn’t just want what everyone else has, she wants more and better than everyone else. So, greed wins for her. At the moment, she’s a spoiled only child and her parents enable her, but I am interested to see how her greed looks when she is an adult in the real world.
Wrath—. "If anger reaches the point of a deliberate desire to kill or seriously wound a neighbor, it is gravely against charity; it is a mortal sin."
Tumblr media
Jeremiah is the only character I’ve written so far who deliberately tried to kill someone he hated, so he takes the cake!
Tumblr media
Runner up: Vicky has inflicted bodily harm on a few people who angered her, and I’m pretty sure she wished Lucy dead for a hot minute. No murder on her hands quite yet though, lol!
Envy— “sad or resentful covetousness towards the traits or possessions of someone else.”
Tumblr media
Ingrid? Hear me out. So I was back and forth for Ingrid about whether it was lust or envy, and I settled on envy. While she doesn’t envy much in the way of possessions or material things—she’s strongly anti-capitalist and in her politics—she has a very special taste for unavailable men. The way she desires these men feels like a challenge, like stealing, and that’s part of the thrill for her. She specifically desires these men because they belong to someone else. Or else she wouldn’t want them so much.
And what would she do if she actually got one? We have yet to see, because she’s still on that chase. I suspect she’d get bored and chase after a different one. Maybe we’ll find out some day.
Lust— “intense or unbridled sexual desire, however, it could also mean other forms of unbridled desire, such as for money, or power.”
Tumblr media
Max. He owned a brothel and several nightclubs, and he had a taste for busty blondes, not excluding his wife of 20-something years. I stopped counting how many women he’d been with. But he also lusted for money and power while climbing the ladder of organized crime, which finally landed him in jail in the end. Plenty of characters enjoy a lot of sex in my stories, but Max took his lust to the extreme, and it came back to bite him in the ass.
Tumblr media
Runner up for lust: Pamela. I had her in mind for greed as well. Although she craved material things and ran up the charge card to maintain a lifestyle she couldn’t afford, putting her family into massive amounts of debt, I think Pamela is mostly driven by desire and the need to be desired.
Gluttony—“the overindulgence and overconsumption of anything to the point of waste”
Why can’t I think of anyone for gluttony? Even when taking it out of the context of eating.
How about Lauren, maybe? She doesn’t necessarily overeat, but the wiki talks about wastefulness of expensive or precious things, and I could totally see Lauren doing that. Carelessness. Like, she’d take a bite from an expensive meal and throw the rest away while someone else starves, and she’d think nothing of it.
Sloth— “sloth is a sin of omitting responsibilities”
Tumblr media
Ian is my best pick for sloth. He’s quite happy to be a lazy stoner, leeching off his parents, sisters, and girlfriend. And he’s not too motivated to change that state of being. He is/was a bit academic throughout his schooling, but he also doesn’t seem motivated to put his smarts to good use. If he lived in ancient history, he would have made a great drunk philosopher. But in modern times people gotta have a paycheck and mortgage and pay taxes. Yuck.
Honorable mention:
Tumblr media
Gwen needs to be on this list somewhere, but I had someone else in mind already for each item. She’s prideful, but not as evil as Fiona. Wrathful, but not as deadly as Jeremiah (I don’t think…). Greedy, but she’s not as insufferable as Lauren. Lustful, for sure. Envious, probably. She’s like a mixed bag of deadly sins, lol!

I really should have gone to sleep, but, I regret to inform you, the Fallout show is really fucking good. Ironic as hell to have it on the Vault Tec channel.
There are callouts and references from New Vegas and the Commonwealth. There's not exactly easter eggs, they're the bedrock of the plot. Fallout logic applies. Every conceit that has to explain why the nonsense of Fallout exists is an integral part of the story flow in the show. Better done than in FO4, tbh!
Familiarity with the games will for sure give you lots of background information on who's who and what they're doing. That was cool I thought. I couldn't help but wonder if any of the artists got any kind of remuneration at all for having their work copied down to the millimeter. They said that Bethesda was "in the room" on art direction and stuff but I don't know what that means, really. I stopped thinking of any of those companies as anything but little Vault Tecs themselves years ago.
On reddit people's complaints are all highly logical - fucking triflers. This is Fallout. "Why didn't they XYZ? How did the dwellers know about ABC?" if it made a whole bunch of sense it wouldn't be a Todd Howard story. But yeah visually thematically and textually it is Fallout, to a T. I'm actually annoyed at how fucking entertained I was. Todd Howard will be insufferable forever after this, and assume all his ideas are good. Psh.
random spoilery theories and observations:
That first ep was frustrating in that my Vault dwellers would've eaten those bullshit raiders up in seconds. Scars? Tattoos???? oh no no. Instant chunks. My vault is no-nonsense. If any of them had made it past that first security checkpoint, it would've just been to get gaussed into several pieces by Ethel or mowed down by Big Dave's minigun. Anyway.
I also kept wishing someone would scrap. Not fight: pick stuff up. It just kept occurring to me because everything was so exactly game-perfect in appearance. That's 2 Steel and an Adhesive, Lucy! cmon grab it for your backpack! Get that machete!!! free machete! 1 Copper in every bulb on that crate, move it into a safe container! until nobody turns red in your reticle! Get with it!
When Lucy talks Maximus into their alliance and they do the warrior's handshake, the Battle Hymn of the Republic played loud in the score out of nowhere, never to return in season 1. Is Max going to found the Minutemen? I don't really know the timeline well enough to know how that fits together - but it sure was emphatic.
The Ghoul is a crit banker! Ha! Lucy seems to have Chem Resistant, Maximus is climbing the Power Armor tree… nice. LOVED how other-Dogmeat used the right tactics on the Gulper, they have that same weakness in Far Harbor, sensitive lil arms, tag'em for instant stagger.
I was glad they held back on directly showing Deathclaws yet, but set up the promise of them for the future, giving exposition for those who didn't bother to read terminal entries on their playthroughs.
I was thinking that the Vault 31 mystery was going to reveal synths, but it went more to the plot lines that you find in the environmental storytelling - Vault Tec's nefarious technocratic scheme that you piece together from terminal entries on side quests. Interesting. Is the Enclave a BOS thing? I never played a fash character & I can't take orders so I don't know that quest tree too well.
I loved that all the armor pieces were game standards, made it super easy to figure out who was who in battle scenes. I would definitely be a Leather Right Shoulder guy. Some like the Sack Hood with Hoses / Metal Chest Piece thing; I get that. It works. Personally I would not go with the red eye shadow because everyone would assume I was a cannibal but you do you.
New Vegas is up next! There's no way this doesn't get its three seasons at least.

A. In your opinion, please rate TBOSAS movie with 1-10 scale.
(1 = I hate it, 10 = I love it.)

Your opinions about the difference between the book and the movie :
Thank you 🎼

A. In your opinion, please rate TBOSAS movie with 1-10 scale.
I'd say it was a 7/10. I think it was vastly better than the book, but the story still didn't excite me in the same way the trilogy did.
Things that you like :
The overall casting was good. Some people stand out by themselves, such as Rachel Zegler and Jason Schwartzman. I really enjoyed the tribute casting choices with various disabilities.
The set design and general visuals were of high quality. It was a nice to look at.
The story was improved to me. Unnecessary bits were cut and some of the worldbuilding elements I didn't like were focused less on. One of my main issues with TBOSAS lie in the details, so not having them represented as much improved the story.
Lucky Flickerman's character was wonderful. He largely improved from his book version by being someone you laugh with, not about. This made him feel more life-like rather than the clown he is in the books.
The main characters seemed more complex. I cannot pinpoint exactly as to why. Perhaps it is moving away from Snow's judgemental perspective. But whenever I think of the book, I see the three mains as archetypes of the political worldview, which presents them as highly flat and predictable characters. Maybe seeing them on screen gave them a newfound complexity.
The music is perfect. I skipped them on the pages (because I hate music in books), but the sound and feel to it is wonderful in the movie and so very fitting rather than being an interruption from the story. That said, the reaping scene remains cringe and Lucy Gray singing to the snakes should have just been her voice, no music in the background.
Things that you don't like :
I wish they wouldn't have changed sets entirely. It was nice seeing my home in a movie, but everything felt so vastly different that it was a bit too foreign and too little of a red string.
We once again get a new District 12, and while I love this vision, it felt too divorced from the place we see in the trilogy, even if there's decades apart. I wish 12 has had one place they would have kept and simply adjusted to fit the old decade.
The Capitol already struggled due to only/mostly featuring new places. I wish they could have given us some of those aerial shots that we used to get to give us the Capitol feel. Like the scene in Catching Fire with the train entering the Capitol. Even if they reworked old footage, it would have been a nice visual link that made it feel like the Capitol even if we don't get the training centre and main street.
The 50s aesthetic bothered me. While it was nice to look at and a nice way of telling the reader we are far before the trilogy right after a war, Panem is still set in the future. I think they could have done something newer that still felt old or included old elements, and this one just didn't do it to me. It just made me think of pre-2077 Fallout, but in worse.
The hint at Caesar annoyed me. I audibly sighed at the premiere, and it perfectly encapsulates why TBOSAS tires the hell out of me.
The franchise feels like it moved from white washing to colour blindness. Dr. Gaul as the sole dark skinned black woman in the main cast is the inventor of the child sacrifice arena. Crassus Snow, probably bigot number one, supposedly is best friends with a little person. Minorities as the people who invent the child sacrifice ceremony felt a bit strange to me.
That said, I like the representation of people with disabilities and overall think it was a cool means of having a little person being in a position of power and prestige whereas other disabled people are thrown into the arena. It underlined classicism a lot.
TBOSAS remains a disappointment to me. Nothing the movie could have really fixed, though.
Your opinions about the difference between the book and the movie :
They cut/changed most of what needed to be cut/changed, fixed the pacing, and gave imagery and audio to the text that distracted from its mediocre story.
Once the hyper is over, I don't think I'll revisit the story unless someone forces me to sit through it though.

Ya know, maaaaybe I wouldn’t be against Wendy have the pacification origins on Grandine’s (and other Sky Dragon’s part if she wasn’t (not counting 100yrs) the ONLY FEMALE DRAGON SLAYER OF THE ENTIRE FRANCHISE!! A character having pacifist powers in general isn’t the issue, it’s having the girl character with powers like her male counterparts being used in a pacifist way. I know she was 12 at the start and got development, but the fact is that Mashima never bothered to make another after Wendy.
I mean, she does already have annoyingly pacifist origins in canon (which the ‘she was too young’ excuse makes no sense when compared to Sting and Rogue who never had the same problem), but I digress.
So honestly, canon aside, I hella agree.
I wish Wendy was more feral and fun like Natsu and Gajeel. I feel Mashima was compelled to make her soft and cute and protectable, because she’s the first ‘little girl’ character we had, and honestly that’s okay. It’s a nice change to have a primarily support-type wizard, and her being a child was appropriate for that role, but it just sucks because it seems like only the girls of the story have this ‘I need to hold back, because girls and women are always kind and cute’ sort of narrative ever-present. It just... ugh, shounen anime of this era, you know?
It’s kinda like Erza having to watch Natsu fight her ending arc battle with Jellal, even though Gray got to fight Lyon himself. Erza gets the role to be kind and wonderful and save the world after that, but she doesn’t get to go feral and lose her temper and destroy her opponent in a fit of anger, because she is meant to forgive him. Natsu was cool as hell, but Erza was given a random fight with Ikaruga instead of overcoming the core of her trauma like she so damn well deserved in TOH. Like, Gray got to defeat his personal arc opponent (Lyon) by himself, but Lucy and Erza doesn’t, because her role in their main arc is to be saved by Natsu to emphasize how much friendship and family matters to her.
Was it a bad character arc, no, but why is it only the girls that get an arc like this one? The guys never get an important character arc where their role is to be saved. They always save themselves.
So yeah, I wish Wendy was more feral too, but alas, Mashima’s set a precedent for the girls at the start.
Mirajane’s important feral moment in Fantasia is important because she is meant to hold back and have mercy for Freed at the end of it. Elfman’s important feral moment in Phantom is important because he gets to go fucking batshit on Sol, beating him within an inch of death because he’s an ass and he wants to prove he can now protect Mira. I love both of those moments, but it is always the girls that get the ‘I need to be kind because I love my friends that I can rely on’ character arc, and the boys always get the ‘I need to be stronger to protect the ones I love’ arcs. I’m not saying the girls only get arcs like that, (Erza fights a lot of her future battles,) no, but only girls ever get arcs like that.
I wish Chelia was a bit more feral, honestly, I feel she could have fixed this problem because she’s a female God Slayer, that has always been the epitome of viciousness and brutality, in previous arcs. In her fight, she actually seemed like a battle junkie to me, which I found so fun as a character that could heal herself and keep fighting over and over. But after her fight, she was just the other ‘kind, sweet’, little girl that mirrored Wendy. Then around the time they became idols together, they were just the same person in a different font, in terms of personality.
Like, I don’t expect Wendy to stop being a pacifist now, especially since Wendy’s gotten so much powerup and being a pacifist means a lot to her as a character (her character peaked at FACE for me), but I do wish Mashima allowed the girls to be more feral, violent, and crazy, without being a straight up villain. Seriously, all the girls that have the capacity to not be kind and pacifistic are portrayed as villainous, harmful lesbian stereotypes, psychopaths, or whatever. Flare, Minerva, Dimaria, Seilah, to name a few. And though Flare and Minerva get redeemed, guess what? They’re now meek and kind and gentle.
Honestly I think Cana would have fit that role well, if only because of the Fairy Glitter scene in GMG. Millianna too, honestly. They’re both fun, mischievous characters that just have the capacity to go wild and ruthless if they want to, but they have the weakness of being not strong enough to do anything important, (Cana vs Freed in Fantasia just being a setup for Mirajane's berserk, and Millianna just being a hostage in Minerva vs Kagura vs Erza) and they’re constantly shoved aside for the more important characters to shine.
It’s just. The girls always get shafted like this, you know? Wendy’s just plucked the bad straw by also being a child. It sucks sometimes :(

My prompt for Tim wishing Lucy was his date 2x03 more a conversation between them as canon. Hope that makes sense 😄 we've never had them discuss their feelings
Also:
Chenford + Tim wished Lucy was his date in 2x03
Chenford + 2x3 Lucy was Tim's date instead of Rachel
Slowly working my way through all the prompts in my inbox. Thank you everyone for being so patient with me, I know some of you have waited months for me to fill these.
While it's always my goal to write every prompt I receive, sometimes a prompt isn't a good fit for me. This one (plus the other two listed above) are unfortunately on that list. I've been trying to figure out a way to make these work for a while now, but I just don't think I can write them and keep them in character because I don't think Tim actually did wish Lucy was his date back then. I don't think he was there yet; it seemed like he was barely even ready to date again. And I think if Lucy had shown up as his date (though after everything she went through with Nolan just a few months before, I don't think she would have) Tim would have put an end to it immediately because it wouldn't have been appropriate.
To clarify: this is my personal interpretation of these characters. If other people see things differently, that's fine. I'm just trying to explain why I personally am unable to write these prompts in a way I would be happy with.
I'm really sorry, anons! Thank you for thinking of me, it means a lot that you trust me with your ideas for these characters. I hope you can find another writer who is able to write these prompts. And please know that you can always send me other prompts in the future and I will do my very best to write them!

Pale 5.2
Looking at the header art, and wondering about the choice of location for the three girls. Avery's is on the Forest Ribbon Trail, and Lucy's where they Awakened. Both sites of a personal trial. Seems deeply sad that Verona's is her own room.
She reached for the feathers in her pocket and found the fur instead.  Glamour.  She touched it to cape and pulled the cape around herself. [...] Tail was a guide, legs pulled in close while they faced the sky, splaying out while she faced the ground.
interesting that there's not an actual description of transforming, Verona just reaches for glamour and then is in cat form, with no text acknowledgement of the shift.
“What happens if she kept some of my magic notes and she’s copying them?” [...] "Besides, most would become Other, instead of Awakening in a raw way. With no clear power sources on hand, she would be draining from herself. Depending on the practice she’s trying, and how well, she could spend too much of herself and invite the wrong thing in."
In most stories, I would assume this was foreshadowing. Here, I think it's equally likely that this is meant to assure readers that something they've been speculating about won't happen. I think that might be a quirk of web serials? Since they are serialized readers can latch on to a theory and start interpreting things to fit it, but since they tend to be written as it goes the author can address those theories in text. It's also a nice way of making the characters seem competent: they've thought of the same potential consequences that the readers have been worried about, and you don't end up screaming at the page for them to figure out the obvious thing.
“For yer Lucy, aye.  After tha gun was put to ‘er bonny head.  It don’t do nothin’, haudin’ back.”
awww
“Can do, aye.  Can do a wee number on them too.  Tha pure tough ones, they dae better, ordinar’.” “Lucy’s tough.” “Aye, but Lucy-” Alpeana went silent.
oh? curious to know what she was going to say here
Key features of Verona's nightmare:
she's still with her father, relations have gone even further downhill, he's still encroaching on her space
she hasn't done anything with her life, dead-ended in Kennet
friends with Melissa, who I think is representing getting stuck in self-pity here (that's what Verona thought of her at the party)
Lucy has moved on from her, but isn't hostile: it's Verona's fault they're not friends, she rejects Lucy, who pities her
Lucy is doing well without her (ie Verona is holding her back)
Avery's also moved on, but doesn't really feature in the nightmare
drug use (drowning out her life, no other fulfillment)
general emotions: hopelessness, loss, waste
“I take power from Kennet’s Others, for Kennet.  I give it to you.  Draw and drink until you have what you need,” Verona said.
not sure I knew they could do this? This is a potential motivation for someone to set up their Awakening, if they can convince the girls to draw on power and hand it over.
“Can we steer them, or give them sanctuary, or something, instead?” Verona asked.  She wasn’t sure why she was fixating on this like this.
good of Verona to be thinking of ways to help the spirits, instead if just seeing them as obstacles. Maybe also winning her some goodwill from Edith and Matthew, since she's clearly too frazzled to be trying to make herself look compassionate
“I need to hold onto me right now, I think,” Verona said, hugging her arms to her body, as if it was cold.
also good of Verona to not retreat into the practice. This makes me feel better about her plans for becoming Other? If she can recognize that right now doing something far from human would be partially trying to run from that mundane future
“Tha toon’s wet wit’ Carmine blood, Mattie.  It asks fer more bloodshed.”
another factor in how much of the story will this mystery span: how long can Kennet last?
“I wish I knew how Miss found you three.”
big mood Matthew!
Also confirmation that Miss was the one who picked them, seemingly by herself. Also, going back to the timing thing I talked about before: how did she find such excellent practitioners for Kennet within the same night the CB died? It seemed like she was watching Avery before... how long did it take her to pick the three of them, and how did she know to look?
There was an animal carcass on the ground, bloated. A goblin thing.
well there's that answer. I guess it tracks.
To face this woman, who, at least on paper, represented that ugly, dismal, lonely, and wonder-less reality.  To beat her.
oh. there's the thematic link between Verona and the skeptic. For Lucy and Daniel: she's studying with the Fae, careful and practical, learning to be a warrior, learning to embrace her anger. He's the singer, unmoored from the world, hurt by the Fae, not a pacifist but not really a fighter? And just as Avery's reaching out for connections, Clem cuts herself off from connections to people, is plagued by connections to things.

“Hack at it with a sword until all the was wrong was so thoroughly wounded that it would never recover.” this sentence is really neat to me i just thought i would tell you that.
“…Back home—we were supposed to go back home together.” this is when the tears started coming. question: would home to penny be the red force?
“There was no twinkling clang of the bells, not even a hum of response. Nothing but silence.” I’m telling my therapist about you. Also this sentence reminds me of Caliban’s monologue from the Tempest when he talks about his island and it makes me even more sad.
“Amid the ruin, it was the only thing untouched.” THE SOUL OF HER SHIP, their friendship and the love and the story that brought her ship to life is the only thing untouched- i’m not okay
“I missed you a lot when you were gone.” SHUT UP-
[If people never got their wishes answered, then they’d lose hope in the world/ a wish was only as powerful as the will behind it.] sugiwa everyday i get closer and closer to the truth of her devil fruit, mark my words i will figure it out😩
“Do you remember when we sailed all the way to Elbaf, only to have the fish blow us back?” I chuckled at this lol, Penny would be Odysseus hitting her crewmates over the head and calling them idiots if she had them
(“Oh, of course,” laughed her ship.) no because i thought the exact same thing when penny said that. it’s such a simple solution but of course she would resort back to it because the same love for writing and stories is the love that created the looking glass and binds them together. writing created the looking glass, why wouldn’t it be the same way penny keeps her alive.
i genuinely felt such relief when she said that and all the sorrow that i felt over what seemed like their farewell was soothed because nothing disappears or goes away forever as long as there is someone telling the story.
This is so lovely, so thank you for all the wonderful details in here. Home to Penny very much is the Red Force these days and I think it kinda fits within this theme of each of the Straw Hats having that one person to return to, only Penny's is somewhere ahead of them rather than behind them. We'll get into more details as to what Penny said to Shanks after that argument they had, but essentially, she was always going to go back (And as Beckmen told her, bring the World's Greatest Story with her).
It's not so much that Shanks replaced her parents or anything--she doesn't really view him as a father. Even when she didn't have all her memories, Penny knew that she was Lucy and Belle's daughter--she just didn't remember them (their voices, the things they did together, what they were like, etc.) What she did know about the Stage Pirates was only what she could bear to remember: that they had all died at the Navy's hand and because the World Government did such a wonderful job of making even saying Lucy's name a huge taboo (we will explore this further in Thriller Bark).
Hehehehe, her Devil Fruit....if Penny had been on Skypeia, she might have learned a bit more about it but, we'll wait for Robin to reveal something later on 👀
The Looking Glass's death was something I had written a while back. At first, I was going to keep her around as a shikigami (a paper spirit like in Spirted Away), but then I thought about the logistics of that and decided it was a bit messy and thought of what else I could do which is where we happened upon the ink. Using the ashes of her dream ship as the ink of her future story is so Penny, so I went with that angle. I also think that Penny needed some closure after losing so many of her friends without being able to save any of them--she's talked about it a bit, but we'll see later on that this build up of loss will prepare her for what happens at Marineford later on.
Also, if we think about the ink that is used on the Thousand Sunny--Nami's maps, Robin's studies, the Poneglyph etchings, and one day, Penny's stories--Penny's sharing a lot more of herself with the Straw Hats than she has with anyone else so far.

LAYER 001 : THE OUTSIDE.
name : Hugo Van Houten
eye colour : hazel
hair style & colour : dirty blond, cropped on the sides and back, kept longer and a little shaggy on top. falls into his eyes and he may be seen pushing it back or just running his hands through it in general. likes it played with.
height : 5′6 3/4″
clothing style : jeans with a hole in the knee that were not purchased that way, preference for bright colors / hawaiian shirts. can, has, and will wear a crop top. likes larger overshirts. his work boots are a staple in his everyday wear.
best physical feature : he says, “my ass.” so. there’s that.
LAYER 002 : THE INSIDE.
fears : being forgotten or phased out / replaced.
guilty pleasure : face masks and other spa-day things.
biggest pet peeve : having to slow down for someone else. usually this means walking behind tourists.
ambitions for the future : to figure out how to make big money with little effort.
LAYER 003 : THOUGHTS.
first thoughts waking up : ten more minutes.
what they think about most : honestly? food.
what they think about before bed : tony. food. that the bottom of his foot is itchy but scratching it tickles, so how the fuck is this gonna resolve itself? gotta remember to... wait, fuck... what do i have to remember? and then, wondering what he’s gonna have for breakfast in the morning.
what they think their best quality is :  he would like to reiterate, “my ass, duh.”
LAYER 004 : WHAT’S BETTER?
single or group dates : single. he likes focusing on the one-on-one time.
to be loved or respected : loved. he couldn’t care less if someone doesn’t respect him because, honestly? hugo probably don’t respect them right back. but to be loved? to love and be loved is... yeah.
beauty or brains : beauty, he says. his own, he clarifies.
dogs or cats : he’d have one of each if he could. dogs got that best friend thing going for them but cats are chill dudes and he respects that. he’d probably defer to owning a cat first because he doesn’t have the spare cash for pet rent and it’s harder to hide a dog, and it’s easier to get someone to stop by the apartment to throw some food down and make sure the litter is clean if he and tony aren’t gonna be home for a bit.
LAYER 005 : DO THEY …?
lie : oh, for sure. daily.
believe in themselves : overwhelmingly. probably more than he should, considering.
believe in love : yes, wholeheartedly.
want someone : yeah, consistently.
LAYER 006 : HAVE THEY EVER …?
been on stage : only for karaoke and this one time in a dream where he was naked and had to participate in a spelling bee. the naked part didn’t bother him so much, but they just kept giving him words to spell even when he was getting them wrong and they were laughing at him. it was, quite literally, a nightmare.
changed who they were to fit in : he couldn’t if he tried. hugo is unashamedly himself.
LAYER 007 : FAVOURITES
favourite colour : that blue that fire turns when it’s really hot.
favourite animal : the little guys that scurry. rats, lizards, chipmunks, etc.
favourite book :  he doesn’t have one, but he likes when people tell him stories.
favourite game :  truth or dare. he really likes picking dare.
LAYER 008 : AGE
day their next birthday will be : march 26th.
how old will they be : 44, in real time.
LAYER 009 : FINISH THE SENTENCE
i love : my best friend.
i feel : a little hungry, if i’m honest.
i hide : money in my sock drawer.
i miss : walking into gramma lucy’s house on a sunday for dinner and the smell of her sauce she’d been working on for hours hitting you as you walked in the door. man, i felt like a cartoon being pulled by the nose and floating toward it, the way it pulled me in every time.
i wish : i could catch a break.

Okay, so I've chosen my next slate of writing projects from the future wips folder and the next one on the list is to finish my non-linear Christopher/Cordelia rarepair fic, . . . and a cat named spooky. Wish me luck, because I have absolutely no idea where I'm going. Also, I want good things for Grace, and in the context of the narrative I'm telling I want to give her a relationship but I feel like it wouldn't fit this particular story to pair her with one of the other canon characters (say, Grace/Lucie, though that ship has its merits) . . . so do I just give up and create an OC like I did for James? (On a side note this could be the fic to use Grace & Christopher parabatai headcanons.)
Also, this may end up being one of those projects that gets bigger and adds more installments, because I feel like I want to tell the story of James's university days and give some explanation of why he was unable to resist the gracelet-hex for Cordelia this time even in small ways but he was able to break it almost fully for someone else. Hm. This may be a small series. I don't know.
be aware that the link is for a fic set to registered users only.

Hello, folks. If you've already seen my previous FFXV posts, you know I have some opinions on the game. That being said, I've decided to actually do things with those opinions instead of just rant about them. SO. I took the questionable route of logging onto AO3 and creating a fic. It's really just a personal enjoyment thing and a way for me to cope with the lingering effects of the game (it's road-trippy and wholesome and a little angsty---the works) But if you're interested, it's called I Miss Watching The Streetlights Go By With You, and you can find it here.
Yes, it does involve some Promptis fluff bc I gave in and decided they were cute. If you're interested, coolio. If you're not, coolio. For a little snippet to know sorta what it's like, continue reading below.
Their food didn’t take long to come out of the kitchen, and Takka presented it to them with a flourish. “I’m sure y’all are used to the fancy stuff up in Insomnia, so don’t judge our fast food too hard, alright?”
“Give yourself some credit, Takka,” Prompto said, “Insomnia’s restaurants pale in comparison to what you can get here.”
A grin split Takka’s face. “You flatter me.” He turned to Ignis. “Speaking of food, how’s yours coming along? You up and cooking again?”
“I think you’ll be pleased to know that I am.”
“That’s damn impressive. I know if I lost my eyes, I’d just give up and retire,” he laughed. “Glad to know that you’re stronger than that. Really.”
Ignis couldn’t suppress the smile as it grew on his face.
As they ate, Cid chatted about the influx in business that had resulted from the new roads and conditions around Lucis. Apparently Hammerhead was working its way towards opening up a dealership. “Cindy’s real hooked on the idea,” Cid said, “She’s been planning it all out for months now. It’s gonna start out small, but with the way things are lookin’, it’ll grow quick. Hammerhead-brand cars. Can you imagine?”
“I’d buy from you,” Gladio said.
“Well, of course! I expect you lot to be our best customers!” Cid guffawed, then fell into a coughing fit and had to take a moment to compose himself. “I’m real excited for what the future holds, I’ll tell ya. Just wish Regis coulda seen what this old pit stop’s become.”
Noctis’s eyes softened. “He would’ve been proud.”
“Yes. Yes, he would have.” Cid reached out and tapped Noctis’s hand. “Of more than just Hammerhead. You were his pride and joy, you know that? It nearly killed him when your mother died, but he had you to raise, and that was reason enough to stick around. Now look at you. All grown up and leading his kingdom.”
Prompto didn’t miss the way Noctis’s eyes shimmered, but the tears didn’t fall. “I think he was scared I wouldn’t make the cut.”
“Nonsense. You may have acted like an ass sometimes, but you were young. That’s what young folk do. Your father and I were worse about it than you were.”
He’s still young, Prompto wanted to say. We’re all still young. He turns twenty-one in fourteen days. Gladio’s the eldest of us, and he turned twenty-four this past April. Prompto said nothing. First he got upset over their eventual old age on the drive over, and now he gets upset over their youth? This was why he had Deirdre. He was a wreck.

My thoughts on... Black Widow 2020 (#6-10) "I Am The Black Widow"
So after that incredibly good and emotional first arc it's time to continue this Black Widow run. I was super excited to see where they would take it from here and how Nat losing her family would affect her. So I was really glad to see them explore that in this and more! It was really interesting to see how Nat was dealing with the grief of basically losing her family for good. Seeing her constantly be reminded of her life with them just by looking at certain objects or things in her daily life really hit hard. Seeing all the flashbacks and then the grief on Nat's face. It really hits deep. It was also really intriguing to see Nat open up about what happened and how she feels about it with Yelena. It's interesting to see how she has all these confusing feelings within her. She loved her husband and kid, even though everything was forced onto her. And it gives her these confusing feelings because partially she feels grateful for being forced into that situation and being able to live her life with them. But at the same time she absolutely hates that she's grateful for what they've done for her, and that hate, those confusing feelings, it's replacing her feelings of grief which she doesn't want to happen. It's super interesting to see how she is dealing with all these different and conflicting feelings and having no idea what to make of them. It also makes her really relatable as we've all experienced feeling like that. Nat's and Yelena's dynamic in this was such a highlight of this second arc. It's so interesting to see their similarities but also their extreme differences. In the way they want to help Lucy, in the way they approach missions, and so much more. But even though they have a lot of differences and different opinions on stuff, they still need each other a lot. And it's such a cool dynamic with some really fun banter! All of the art and action sequences in this arc were once again just breathtakingly awesome! This arc pushes the action sequences even more in awesome artistic direction and does some really unique stuff with it, all with incredible detail. There are splash pages where you can look at them for 5 minutes and still find new details you missed. It's absolutely incredible how good the art is in this run! Lucy was a surpising addition to the story, but a welcome one. It's really interesting how she wants to be part of this world Black Widow is part of all while Nat is trying her best to keep her out of it. Because she doesn't want her to go through the same experiences she had. Perhaps in a way Nat sees a younger self in Lucy, a younger self that she can still save of all of this. That's really the feeling i'm getting from Nat and the way she looks at Lucy. It's super interesting that's she basically a mirror of a younger self for Nat. I will say I do wish they would've fleshed her out a bit more. Her addition to the story was a bit abrupt and we don't really get much background on her beyond some surface level stuff. I hope they explore her character a bit more in the future. Same goes for Craig I feel, he gets introduced very abruptly with not much info on who he is. It was also kind of weird to see him go from being parachuted out of a window to all of a sudden being stuck in Nat's closet, like how did that happen? I wish they were able to fill in small gaps like that, because this arc has a few of them I feel. Not that it took away from the overall experience but It would've been nice to see them fill in those gaps. I was super surpised to see Anya Corazon show up in this and be such a major part of this arc. I first got introduced to her in Web-Warriors (2015) and have been dying to see and learn more about her. So i was super excited and hyped when she showed up! She's such a fun character and it was really cool to see her try being a spy. She surprisingly fits in so well with the rest of the team, I really hope she shows up in the next arc! Same goes for Kate Bishop, it was really fun to see her show up in this!
The storyline with apogee seems really interesting as I feel we've barely scratched the surface of it. So I really wonder what lies beneath. Like who is he? Why is he giving random people powers? What's his connection to Nat? It's going to be interesting to see where they'll take it. Something I'm also really intrigued by is Nat's new suit. I absolutely adore the design of it, it's just so incredibly perfect, i love it! It also seems to have an incredible amount of functions and tech, and seems to give her extra power somehow? I wish they would explain a bit more about what the deal with the new suit is, what exactly it can do and where she got it from. Because it seems like a really big upgrade for her (also I just really need to know where one can get a badass suit like that). This arc was a lot of fun and seems to be setting up something even bigger. It was super interesting to see Nat deal with her grief for her family and how it's affecting her in her daily life. Furthermore it was super intriguing to see all the conflicting thoughts she had about that entire situation. It made her struggles feel so very real. Lucy was a welcome addition to the story although i wish she would have gotten a bit more exploration but perhaps we'll get that in the future. Anya also just fitted so perfectly within this team! This arc once again blew me away with it's breathtaking art, it's defintely some of the best i've seen! Nat's & Yelena's dynamic was also super good. All by all tons of good stuff although some gaps could've used some filling. Regardless I'm super excited to see what's next!
