A Song of Trust in God's Provision
In that day this song will be sung in the land of Judah:
We have a strong city; salvation is established as its walls and ramparts. Open the gates so a righteous nation may enter— one that remains faithful. You will keep in perfect peace the steadfast of mind, because he trusts in You. Trust in the LORD forever, because GOD the LORD is the Rock eternal. For He has humbled those who dwell on high; He lays the lofty city low. He brings it down to the ground; He casts it into the dust. Feet trample it down— the feet of the oppressed, the steps of the poor.
The path of the righteous is level; You clear a straight path for the upright. Yes, we wait for You, O LORD; we walk in the path of Your judgments. Your name and renown are the desire of our souls. My soul longs for You in the night; indeed, my spirit seeks You at dawn. For when Your judgments come upon the earth, the people of the world learn righteousness. Though grace is shown to the wicked man, he does not learn righteousness. In the land of righteousness he acts unjustly and fails to see the majesty of the LORD.
O LORD, Your hand is upraised, but they do not see it. They will see Your zeal for Your people and be put to shame. The fire set for Your enemies will consume them! O LORD, You will establish peace for us. For all that we have accomplished, You have done for us. O LORD our God, other lords besides You have had dominion, but Your name alone do we confess.
The dead will not live; the departed spirits will not rise. Therefore You have punished and destroyed them; You have wiped out all memory of them. You have enlarged the nation, O LORD; You have enlarged the nation. You have gained glory for Yourself; You have extended all the borders of the land.
O LORD, they sought You in their distress; when You disciplined them, they poured out a quiet prayer. As a woman with child about to give birth writhes and cries out in pain, so were we in Your presence, O LORD. We were with child; we writhed in pain; but we gave birth to wind. We have given no salvation to the earth, nor brought any life into the world.
Your dead will live; their bodies will rise. Awake and sing, you who dwell in the dust! For your dew is like the dew of the morning, and the earth will bring forth her dead.
Go, my people, enter your rooms and shut your doors behind you. Hide yourselves a little while until the wrath has passed. For behold, the LORD is coming out of His dwelling to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity. The earth will reveal her bloodshed and will no longer conceal her slain. — Isaiah 26 | The Reader’s Bible (BRB) The Reader’s Bible © 2020 by Bible Hub and Berean.Bible. All rights Reserved. Steadfast desire for God
Steadfast desire for God
Every believer in the God of the Bible has a challenge to remain earnestly seeking God. In the Proverbs, the Wisdom of God is personified as a woman at the gates of the city, shouting to those who pass by and encouraging those who would seek the favor of God to come to her. Proverbs 8:34-35 – Happy is the man who listens to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting beside my doors. For he who…

The Righteous and the Wicked (Isaiah 26:7-15)
The righteous are righteous – not because they are intensely moral and always actively obedient – but because the basic orientation of their lives is committed to communing and relating to the God of the universe.
The path of the righteous is level;    you, the Upright One, make the way of the righteous smooth.Yes, Lord, walking in the way of your laws,    we wait for you;your name and renown    are the desire of our hearts. My soul yearns for you in the night;    in the morning my spirit longs for you. When your judgments come upon the earth,    the people of the world learn righteousness. But when grace is…

Repeat or Rhyme?
The first reading today again comes from the Prophet Isaiah. Over the course of the week so far, the readings from the prophet have moved from the promise and announcement of the hoped-for King and redeemer, to the King establishing his rule, to yesterday’s banquet scene to which the faithful are invited and all are welcomed. This is the King more powerful than worldly empires and more…

Isaiah 26: A Steadfast Mind
As Isaiah continued to gaze into the far future, he saw a strong city that stood in contrast to the ruined city he had seen in his previous vision. #Isaiah26 #SteadfastMind #AnchoroftheSoul
Open the Gates As Isaiah continued to gaze into the far future, he saw a strong city that stood in contrast to the ruined city he had seen in his previous vision. For you have made the city a heap,    the fortified city a ruin;the palace of foreigners is a city no more;    it will never be rebuilt. … On that day this song will be sung in the land of Judah: We have a strong city;    he sets up…

The Sound of the Lord's Voice
The Lord's Voice Heard Throughout the Earth as a sign and a wonder?
I think this is the Lord showing me something. I see a sound like a sonic boom that is heard around the world all at once by every nation and tongue. It is the Lord’s voice and it is a sign and a wonder. All the earth will wonder at it. There will be no natural explanation. But because they don’t understand the Spirit, some will fear, some will dismiss. But it is a sign for the Body of Christ…

Lessons From a Pup Named Roscoe
The storms bring a furry friend to our front door. Roscoe, a little Corgi mixed pup, belongs to a nearby neighbor who often travels. We welcome him in with treats and a warm rug. When his master is out of town, Roscoe finds refuge from the storms with us.
Late evening storms often pepper my neck of the woods in our beautiful East Tennessee. These summer storms showcase magnificent lightning displays and thunderclouds etched in ominously brilliant colors. The storms also bring a furry friend to our front door. Roscoe, a little Corgi mixed pup, belongs to a nearby neighbor who often travels. We welcome him in with treats and a warm rug. When his…

ISAIAH S.O.A.P. ~ CHAPTER 26
Monday, 5/23/22
SCRIPTURE:
Lord, our God, other masters besides You have ruled us; But through You alone we confess Your name.
~ Isaiah 26:16
OBSERVATION:
Other masters - the enemy, my own selfishness - have rule me...
...and I certainly haven't mastered myself...
His saving grace through Jesus alone is the only way I can stand before Him and confess His Name...
APPLICATION:
Confess being mastered by others...
Confess Jesus's Name as my only Master... every time "another" raises his/its head and tries to take ownership...
From verses 1-8 -
Trust in Him...
Follow His Way of Judgments...
Wait for Him eagerly...
Remember Him...
Desire His Name...
PRAYER:
Patient, loving, and gracious Father God - forgive my allowing other masters to guide my decisions and turn me from obedience to Your way... Thank You for Your Holy Spirit's presence and guidance that continuously reminds me of Your perfect peace, and of Jesus's soul saving life, death and resurrection... In His Name, and for Your glory and honor and worshipful praise...
Yours, in Him... always, gratefully, joyfully...

Isaiah 30:21 (NIV). “Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.”
Romans 8:26 (NLT). “And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words.”
“What's guiding you?” By YouVersion blog:
“Think about a decision you made recently. Maybe it was choosing what to wear for the day. Maybe it was figuring out whether or not to take a new job. Or maybe it was simply deciding to say “hello” to someone you didn’t know well. The average person makes thousands of decisions each day.
While our choices don’t carry equal weight, every choice we make contributes to the direction our lives take. The good news is—we don’t have to make decisions alone.
God’s Holy Spirit is with anyone who believes in Jesus, empowering them to live in a way that honors Him. So right now, think about a decision you need to make, and when you’re ready, ask the Holy Spirit to guide you.
“A Prayer for Guidance”
“Holy Spirit, You know my heart. You understand my deepest wants and needs, and You know my every intention. You know me better than I know myself. There is nowhere I could run to escape Your presence, and nothing I could hide from You!
And that’s why, right now, I am asking You to give me Your divine wisdom and guidance.
I don’t always know what to pray for. My soul is weary and I am tired. I often worry about making the right decision—but I want to live a life that honors You.
Even though I may feel like I can’t move forward or see what’s ahead—You see me. And You know me. So please guide me. Show me the paths that lead to abundant life, and convict me when I am tempted to stray from You.
As You guide me, restore me. I will place my hope in You at all times because You know all things, and by You, my life is held together. You are my strength in times of need, and You have become my salvation.
So hold me close, Lord, and teach me to walk in a manner worthy of the calling You have given me. Direct my steps as You guard my life, because I want to glorify You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.” 🙏

Real peace is generated by trust in God
Real peace is generated by trust in God
Today we will be looking at the topic of trust or faith in God, and how, regardless of our own abilities or resources, our ultimate trust in all things should be in God. Philippians 4:6-7 – Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace…

Perfect Peace (Isaiah 26:1-9)
Peace comes through trust; faith is the smooth path to settled rest and wholeness of being.
