ADAPDATION RANT (spoilers probably idk)

Akutagawa DOES have a backstory that's not only in: It's own light novel, the beginning of beast, AND I believe adapted into the manga. And yet has not been put into the anime.

Of course, every backstory in the anime is very important and it's timing makes sense, but for Akutagawa being so important, you'd think it would've been adapted already. And before you're like "Ranpo's is literally the founding of the agency-" I KNOW. That's fine. But KENJI?? I adore Kenji, but his backstory was also incredibly early in the manga, and STILL got adapted sooner (and it's not incredibly important [no offense kenji ily]).

Anyways, smol rant done, enjoy or cringe or don't even read idrc ww :) extra sidenote that I haven't read a majority of the manga because I couldn't find it, so if you have read it feel free to put in your two cents.

Shin Soukoku AU in which Atsushi reveals he and Akutagawa have been married for forever but more shocking than this revelation is that Atsushi married Akutagawa that way if Akutagawa killed him, everyone would know he did it-

Dazai: Wait wait, you're telling me, you and Akutagawa are already married???

Atsushi: Yes? We have been for years?

Dazai: *blinks* But you-? Since when-? Why-? How-?

Atsushi: Because when someone gets murdered, the spouse is always the first suspect, so Akutagawa and I got married and he's set to inherit my life insurance money so that way if he kills me the police have a clearer motive to pin him down with other than just "Akutagawa really hated me"

I might become a hater, I am on my way, but it saddens me so much to see a lot of moments in BSD get animated and given justice, but my sskk are still on the "they are enemies and Akutagawa is just an angry mf" stage.

I truly wish that those, who watch only anime, would pick up manga, and learn that their relationship is much more complicated, and Akutagawa is on his way to understand things. It saddens me that in anime his sacrifice seemed so boring and literally nothing complicated, when in fact, it is so much more than that. He even looked like a piranha im in tears-

He doesn’t know why he brings it up. Well, he kind of does. He’s just… really confused. Because he’s a Hunting Dog, he isn’t really a part of the Port Mafia. And yet…

Somehow, he feels like he’s been here his whole life even though it’s only been four months. Working with Gin and Hirotsu and even Higuchi and Akutagawa is different from working with the Hunting Dogs. It feels more natural here. And he hates it because he does love the rest of the Hunting Dogs—they’re basically his family at this point.

It scares him, how easily he slipped into this.
