Strolling in the Forest, a playlist for @lady-ofmischief
I got so carried away with this one... It was easier for me to bulk this one up bc these are all songs I frequently use on my walks! I will say though, my route is a circle and has a big!!! hill in the middle so there are a few more-upbeat ones just bc I gotta keep going up a big hill! I'll put a little star beside some of the really powerful ones just in case you want to take them out :)
Otherwise, the vibes are intended to be peaceful, airy, reflective, tender, and chill. I hope you can enjoy some time with the ol' mother nature listening to this playlist 💛
I am sorry there's so much Cat Stevens/Yusuf but his 1970s albums are nature distilled <3

Guest host Ralph Miller III, who worked behind the scenes on Dream Warriors provides insights and many effects development photos that are shown in the YouTube version of the podcast. Post-recording, the crew wants to clarify that Kevin Yagher was responsible for the Freddy Snake, and Mark Shostrom was in charge of the Penelope Sudrow dummy that smashes into the Freddyvision TV.
With the success of A Nightmare on  Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (1987), following the critical failure of A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge (1985), New line Cinema firmly cemented Freddy Krueger and A Nightmare on Elm Street as one of the most iconic horror franchises of its time. Not only does Dream Warriors feature Robert Englund continuing to breathe both humor and fear into Freddy Krueger but also the return of both Heather Langenkamp and John Saxon from the original. The film also features Craig Wasson (Ghost Story) as the male lead and early film roles for Patricia Arquette and Larry Fishburne. Frank Darabont (The Mist) and Bruce Wagner join Wes Craven on scripting chores and Chuck Russell (The Blob, The Mask) directs while Angelo Badalamenti (Twin Peaks, Blue Velvet) provides the score – a winning combination of talent. Surely a Grue-Crew highly recommended selection with special effects by Greg Cannom, Doug Beswick, Mark Shostrom, Kevin Yagher, and more!
Be sure to check out the first time the 80s Grue-Crew took a dive into this film in February 2017, featuring Doc Rotten, Christopher G. Moore, and Thomas Mariani as the Grue-Crew. You can find it here: A NIGHTMARE ON ELMS STREET 3: DREAM WARRIORS (1987) — Episode 102
Every two weeks, Gruesome Magazine’s Decades of Horror 1980s podcast will cover another horror film from the 1980s. The next episode’s film, chosen by Jeff, will be The Changeling (1980), starring George C. Scott, Trish Van Devere, Melvyn Douglas, . . . and a bouncing, red, rubber ball.
Please let them know how they’re doing! They want to hear from you – the coolest, grooviest fans – so leave them a message or comment on the gruesome Magazine Youtube channel, on the website, or email the Decades of Horror 1980s podcast hosts at [email protected].

“Arson Trial February 27,” Border Cities Star. February 14, 1933. Page 5.  ---- THREE TO BE TRIED --- Kent Judge Will Preside In County Court ---- Three men charged with arson and conspiracy to commit arson in connection with the burning of the Green elevator in Essex. August 27 last, will be tried Monday, February 27, in county court before Judge Uriah McFadden of Kent.
Major James H. Clark, defense counsel today made an appointment with Judge McFadden for that date. The case was set down for Thursday of this week before Judge Mahon, but the Crown was unable to complete its case in time.
Judge McFadden is at present busy with Judge J. J. Coughlin of Essex and Sheriff C. N. Anderson, preparing their report on the Essex County Assessment Equalization Board hearing.
The trio, Gerald Moynahan, 23, of 251 Campbell avenue, Gilbert Mulligan, 34, of Tecumseh, and George Martin, 32, of London, pleaded not guilty some days ago and were remanded for trial by Magistrate Brodie.
John Raymond. 30. of 169 Wellington avenue, pleaded guilty to the arson charge in county police court last week and the week previous entered guilty plea in Windsor police court on the conspiracy count. His testimony implicated the other three, and according to Deputy Magistrate J. Arthur Hanrahan, he will not be sentenced until the charges against the other three have been dealt with.

(Ok so I saw a cool fanfic and wanted to make my own. This is based on the Braces quote thingy from Lamsandmullettetext, there cool. check them out. Anyways this is my first fanfic and I’m proud to be able to say “I did my first fanfic on our founding fathers being gay with braces” it’s under read more cause it’s LOOng)
Based on @lamsandmullettetext
Inspired by @hamiltonfanfic0423
Alexander stood hesitantly at the school doors wondering if it was worth it. He took a shaky breath and checked to see if anyone was around. Everyone had entered the school building or at least people he knew of. He shakily pulled out a small pocket mirror and looked at his teeth, braces were sat tightly on his teeth. He closed the mirror and sighed stuffing it into his pocket and walked into school.
Halfway to his locker his friends Hercules Mulligan and Marquis de Lafayette, or Lafayette for short ran over to him with a smile. Lafayette gave him a quick hug from behind, Alex giving him a small smile. Hercules grinned
“Good to see you here at school buddy! We haven’t seen you all weekend,” Hercules expression changed a bit when Alex gave a small shrug and no real answer. Lafayette perked up and walked over next to Hercules
“Mon Ami, why aren’t you saying anything to us?”
“Yeah are you ok?” Hercules and Lafayette stared at Alex as if he was an alien. Alex nodded and gave a quick thumbs up.
“Hamilton!” A voice called out, a lot of people seemed to clear the hallway suddenly as Thomas Jefferson and James Madison walked up to the two. Hercules and Lafayette immediately got defensive and looked ready to kick there ass at any moment. Thoughts ran through Alex’s mind. What was he thinking? He should have just stayed home, but for what? The entire year? This would have happened eventually. Jefferson grinned at Alex
“Ready for another debate after school?” Jefferson put his hand on his hip well Madison laughed a bit. Madison had braces to just he was Jefferson’s boyfriend so if anyone did have the balls to make fun of him they would probably get murdered by both Jefferson and Madison. Hercules sighed
“Fuck off Jefferson! No one cares.” Lafayette joined in
“Oui! He’s going to beat you anyway! Tell him, Alexander!” Lafayette and Hercules stared at Alex waiting for a witty insult or reply to Jefferson but nothing came. Hercules looked disappointed,
“C’mon Alex..?” Hercules nudged Alex awkwardly. All Alex could do was silently walk away. What was he thinking? This was stupid. If Madison can have braces and no one cares about it why can’t he? Then again Madison was popular so it wasn’t worth the risk. Suddenly a voice broke into his thoughts,
“Alex!” Laurens grinned and almost tackled Alex. Alex tried hard not to grin back only giving a weak smile, “I missed you! We still on for studying at your house?” Laurens smiled and Alex. Alex gave a weak smile and gave a thumbs up. Like always Jefferson pounced on the opportunity to say something.
“Wow Hamilton. Not even gonna speak to your boyfriend? And they say I’m the asshole.” Jefferson looked at Madison looking for a sign of approval, Madison’s laugh was enough to boost Jefferson’s confident look 10 times higher. Alex couldn’t help it or take Jefferson’s shit anymore.
“Oh shut the hell up Jefferson!” Alex hissed, but quickly remembering his braces and covered his mouth. Jefferson walked closer, people seemed to gather around. Madison squinted at Alex’s hands. Jefferson grinned.
“Oh don’t tell me… Are those what I think they are?”
“Braces!” Madison quickly finished the sentence, he sounded calmer than Jefferson but still had a mocking tone. Jefferson and Madison looked at each other with grins.
“My god Jemmy, I can’t believe it. This has to be one of the best days ever!” Jefferson laughed putting his arm around Madison to help him from falling over. Alex stared down at the floor covering his face, he could feel tears coming up,
“Oh my god..” Since everyone knew might as well speak. Hercules stared at Jefferson and Madison looking about ready to kill them. Jefferson and Madison slowly walked away.
“C’mon Jemmy, we’ll  be late for class.” Everyone soon started to go to there classing leaving the four remaining silent in the middle of the hallway. Lafayette was first to break the silence.
“Mon Ami... Why didn’t you tell us?” Hercules was second to break it,
“Yeah! We would have understood!” They all seemed a little hurt that Alex hadn’t told them about.
“I just.. .thought you all would make fun of me...” Alex felt his stomach dropped, that sounded horrible out loud. Hercules quickly gave Alex a large hug.
“Really? Us? We’re your friends Alex! We wouldn’t do that.” Lafayette joined in on the hug.
“Oui! We love you no matter what mon Ami!” Lafayette and Hercules dropped the large hug to let Lauren’s give Alex a hug. Lauren’s chuckled a bit
“Yeah.. anyways I like you having braces.” Alex couldn’t help but be shocked and laid his head on Lauren’s shoulder looking to the side his face red.
“Really..? Why..” Alex felt his face burn up as Lauren’s playfully whispered in his ear
“Yeah… I think it looks cute on you..” Laurens gave him a quick peck on the cheek his hands soon together with Alex’s. Alex smiled
“Heh.. thanks…” Suddenly there was a loud ringing as the school bell warned students to get to class. Alex jumped up and started running,
“SHIT! We’re gonna be late!” Lafayette, Hercules, and Laurens broke into a laugh as they slowly started walking. Laurens giggled,
“Now That’s my Alexander!”

Foreign Touch.
Summery: What happens when you get the mark of your soulmate on your body at the age of 16? Just a mark where they would touch you for the first time. What happens when your name is Y/N Hamilton and your soulmates with Thomas Jefferson? Come and find out.
Warnings: Cursing. Days to Proof-Read this and I didn’t... oops?
Word Count: Around 1,140.
Enjoy!
Tumblr media
The Hamilton siblings weren’t related by blood, the two were adopted and taken from their home in Charlestown, the capital of the island of Nevis. The two were born and left at an orphanage. Being the youngest two, Y/N and Alexander were adopted by Rachel and Tom Hamilton. Taken to Washington D.C, they lived in a comfortable house, part of the upper class in society. While Rachael was a cardiothoracic surgeon, Tom was a Lawyer who took a lot of different cases. From Immigration to Family cases.
The two Hamilton children, being the same age and growing up together. They shared the same group of friends. Y/N being the only female in the group.
John Laurens, a freckled, curly haired boy who moved to their neighborhood when his mother died and so him and his father decided to leave behind North Carolina and start fresh.
Hercules Mulligan, a tall, strong high school wrestler and also the son of one of the best fashion designers and fatherless.
Gilbert du Motier, Marquis de Lafayette.... er, Lafayette as his friends call him. He came to Washington back in Freshman year, coming to live with his uncle George Washington. Who also happened to be the Principle of their High School.
Naturally, the group of five became best friends back in their freshman year. Their group wasn’t like usual high school groups.
There was a French foreigner, who was a ladies man. A wrestler, who was a total flirt, Curly haired freckles, the best swimmer in the whole school. Alexander, the history nerd and the schools newspaper editor in chief. Then there was Y/N, the only girl in the group. Yet probably the smartest.
Y/N was an overachiever, while being a cheerleader, she was also a top student who had time to tutor those who needed help in classes.
Anyone who looked at the group, they wouldn’t think they were friends, yet they were. With the occasional addition of Aaron Burr, who only joined them when to argue with Alexander about what was being put on the school's paper.
Life was great, that is until they all turned 16 and the mark of the soulmate appeared on their skin.
It’s been said that from the moment you turn a certain age, a black mark appears on your skin indicating the first time you ever touch your soulmate. You could speak to them, but there will come a time when you two would touch and you’ll know. The spot where your skin is marked will glow before fading.
It's said that when your soulmate passes, a new mark will appear on the person's skin. The last spot where their soulmate touched them.
Alexander and John figured it out quickly, of course it helped that the two liked each other. The fact that they happened to be soulmates, didn’t really shock anyone.
Lafayette had a black hand mark on his forearm, where his soulmate would touch him for the first time. Hercules had his hand mark wrapped around his wrist.
Y/N? Hers happened to be on her waist, two hand marks on each side of her waist. A place where many people could see whenever she wore her cheer outfit.
»»————- ♡ ————-««
So, on one Monday morning, half an hour before the group needed to get to school. They were at the Hamilton residence listening to Alexander complain about this race as Senior President.
“Y/N can you be serious PLEASE?” Alexander snapped at his sister, narrowing his eyes at the girl who gave the boy a simple smile. “I am running against Thomas Jefferson of ALL people. Can we take this a little more seriously?”
John, Lafayette and Hercules were just lounging around the living room laughing at the two siblings. “What? I think it’s a great slogan for you, Alex!” Y/N said and looked at the poster she made for her brother.
“I don’t run very often… but when I do it’s for President! #Hamilton4President” John read over the girls shoulder, only to start laughing even more. The other boys joining in. Only Alexander stood there with eyes narrowed.
With a huff, the long-haired boy started to gather his things up to put away. “You all are no help.” He mumbled and the group rolled their eyes.
“Come off it, Alex. Thomas Jefferson has been off in Paris for a year, surely no one would vote for him as Senior President.” Y/N stood up and started to help her brother clean up the mess in the living room.
Once it was all cleaned up, y/n stood up and fixed her cheerleader warm up suit. The black leggings with CHEER written down her left leg in a magenta color, a tight white t-shirt and her black and magenta cheer jacket thrown on over it. Her feet supporting white tennis shoes.
Ignoring the boys as they watched her, Y/N simply rolled her eyes at Lafayette and Hercules. “I’m out! I have a cheer meeting to attend before homeroom.” She waved to them and headed out of the house, backpack over her shoulder.
After the short, ten-minute drive to the High School, Y/N parked her car and got out. Messing on her phone as she walked, Y/N bumped into someone and fell onto the floor right on her butt.
“Jesus…” the h/c girl complained and glanced up at who she ran into.
“Maddison, you asshole.” She pouted at the male in front of her before accepting his hand.
Finally, back on her feet, the two glared at one another before laughing. “Sorry, pom-pom. You ok?” he asked, looking guilty.
“Yeah, I’m fine. My ass hurts, but I’ll live.” She grinned and stuck her tongue out at the nickname the man gave her. “That’s cute. You call all the cheerleaders that, or just me?”
“YO JAMES!” A voice boomed down the hallway, causing the two to turn around. Y/N rolling her eyes and James sighing.
As the man came forward, a smirk on his face and a walk with swagger. Y/N crossed her arms over her chest.
“Would you look at the time?” Y/N laughed. “It’s Time-For-Me-To-GO o’clock.” With a wink towards James making the school's football team's Wide receiver laugh, Y/N rushed off down the hallway.
Making it out to the football field, where her fellow cheerleaders were sitting around. Y/N glanced at the time on her phone and listened to their Coach talk about how they needed to train harder and all that. It wasn’t till he felt her phone go off did Y/N glance at who was messaging her. After sending him a quick message, grinning. She went back to listen to her coach and felt her phone vibrate like crazy in her jacket pocket.
‘this… asshole…’ was the only thing going through Y/N's mind as she sent him a quick message before pushing her phone into her pocket again. Feeling her phone give one more buzz, she quickly checked the message before paying attention again.
Tumblr media
As soon as they were allowed to leave, Y/N went to her locker and rolled her eyes at Hercules standing there.
“Your brother is annoyed.” The male laughed and Y/N just shrugged her shoulder. Showing that she didn’t care. When wasn’t Alexander annoyed?
“Were you talking with Jefferson?”
At the question, Y/N turned to Hercules and raised an eyebrow. “No. I was talking to James; I ran as soon as Jefferson made his way towards us. Ask James!” she snapped before slamming her locker shut and heading off towards homeroom.
Y/N was starting to really get annoyed with the guys annoying her because of Jefferson. If she wanted to talk with him, she would! Not that Y/N wanted to. She’s her own person, fuck them.

Here’s a doozy for all of you John Carpenter fans out there. And, let’s not forget Dan O’Bannon and Jack Harris. This is it, John Carpenter’s first directorial effort, straight out of college (literally), the sci-fi comedy, Dark Star (1974). Strong Stanley Kubrick influences abound from Dr. Strangelove… (1964) to  2001: A Space Odyssey (1968). You don’t have to look too closely to see the elements that leap from this film into Dan O’Bannon’s Alien (1979) script. In fact, Aliens (1986), directed by James Cameron, pays homage to this film with its famous knife challenge gag. Rough around the edges for certain, Dark Star still manages to entertain and provide a chuckle or two. Check out what the Grue Crew thinks. Strap in and may the beach ball alien be with you!
At the time of this writing, Dark Star is available to stream from most free w/ads, subscription, and PPV sources. It is also available on Blu-ray from VCI Video.
Gruesome Magazine’s Decades of Horror 1970s is part of the Decades of Horror two-week rotation with The Classic Era and the 1980s. In two weeks, the next episode, chosen by Doc, will be Hammer’s The Satanic Rites of Dracula (1973). Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee for the win!
