He's filled with so much joy and excitement

and for the first time he has no outlined plan with a relationship, no map he's following

Tommy really stopped that hamster wheel and showed him a new way and

Y'all!!! I met another ace person at dance last night!!!! 😭

I was pretty sure she was wearing an ace ring (black ring on her middle finger), and I finally worked up the courage while chatting with her and leaned over and quietly said "Hey, I like your ring" while gesturing with my right hand so my own ace ring was visible

And her face lit up like the goddamn sun and she went "I love yours too! I was wondering if that's what yours was — I've never met another one of us in person before!" 🥺😭

And like, this is why I wear my ace ring. Yes, it's to remind myself that there's other people like me, but it's also so those people know I'm here as well. A quiet "friend of Dorothy" nod to people who understand. It's so hard, especially in a state like Indiana, to suss out whether or not people are trustworthy let alone part of the community, but it makes it all the sweeter when they are.

Morning!! I am so so so excited to share the big project for January 🥺 Patrons voted for another painting this month, and for it to be t4t Joetrick with horny vibes. I worked really hard on it and you can see the full painting and variations here!

I want to just give an ENORMOUS shout out to the patrons, as this is the kind of thing I've always wanted to paint but rarely afforded the opportunity to because of money. Never in my life have I had the funding to paint something like this, so thank you a million times over.

I could go on for ages about how much this matters to me, but I hope you'll take a moment to explore it and inspect it and decide what it means to you. Joe has top surgery scars, Patrick has stretch marks, they both have body hair that I drew each individual hair for.

To be able to paint middle aged trans men as erotic and sexy is so special to me. To be able to whole heartedly and lovingly depict body features without censorship or sanitization is an experience I'd never had. It means so much to me not only to have a group of people who will look at this work, but who will actively ask for it, appreciate it, save it, and really take the time to live in it for a bit.

I couldn't ask for a better audience, y'all are the best of the best. Thank you (patrons and not!) For seeing the value in my work and in human sexuality, and for helping to create a space where it's openly celebrated rather than tolerated or hidden away.

Hey you're absolutely welcome! I know what you mean too, there's this very loud and proud "i hate all men because theyre evil and they suck!!" mentality that has (in my opinion) a rather large presence in queer spaces and it makes existing in them as a trans man really, really exhausting. Especially when some people decide its okay to say these things to your face, as if you aren't a man. Especially when it comes from white people, since they tend not to recognize how they look saying that kind of thing to men of color.

But hey, i have a wife and she's like the coolest/strongest/lovliest person i know, and is my best friend. I promise there are literally millions of girls who love trans men and don't think we're becoming evil/violent/dangerous, and who also don't think we're hurting ourselves/making ourselves uglier.

I also know a handful of other men who have wives/fiances/girlfriends, and I wont lie and say that it was easy for them, especially since they tended to go for cishet women, but they're in long happy relationships nowadays. You can do it too. I promise dude :)

I’m reading Good Omens again and thinking about how Crowley and Aziraphale aren’t really men and aren’t really humans etc. Then I started thinking about the sentiment that even if being queer was a choice, people would still choose to be queer and how Aziraphale choses to appear as a gay man. He choses to be the kind of person who gets called “the southern pansy”. That’s a choice that he made.

For the past few months I’ve been wearing these pins to my retail job:

Today was the first time a customer used they/them pronouns for me...

I work for a small, local, primarily queer-run comics and collectables store. My co-workers and boss normally use they/them with me, but I’ve never had a customer use them. I’ve had a couple of people compliment my pins, but still never heard the pronouns utilized.

I normally work in the back doing inventory and data entry. This weekend has been interesting because I’ve been running the store by myself while the others are away on a business trip. Our store hours had to be cut short as a result of that.

I was closing up today when a father and his child came up to the door. Apparently, they come to the area every so often, and the kid is always excited to come to the shop, but weren’t aware that the store was closing earlier. So the dad had to explain to his kid that they couldn’t go in.

I was tired, and since the dad was handling it well and didn’t fuss, I locked up and started heading home. I got a few steps before I realized that I had forgotten to clock out.

So I head back to the door and ask the dad if they know what they want and if they’re willing to pay with a card (since I had already cashed out the register).

Yes and yes.

So I let them in for one last sale.

And that’s when it happened.

“That was a really nice thing they did, so tell them ‘thank you’“

That’s what the dad said, and the kid gave me the biggest smile and told me “thank you very much!”

I’ve just had a really long and busy month, and then have had to work a long and busy weekend, and that’s the note it ended on - on a nice and serendipitous moment where I happened to forget to do something at the store, decided to let a kid have their funko pop figurine, and had a random stranger use my pronouns for the first time.

It was really nice and I wanted to share the experience
