What is the closest military base to the white house?
The White House IS a military installation.
It is the home and workplace of the Commander-in-Chief of United States military forces, so that alone makes it an important command and control headquarters. The various branches of the military have an active role in the everyday logistics of running the White House campus and supporting the Executive Office of the President. The White House's complex and extensive communications agency is staffed by members of each individual branch of the military. The U.S. Navy is responsible for the White House Mess and providing food services to the President, the First Family, any potential guests, and the President's staff. The White House Medical Unit is staffed by military doctors who have a round-the-clock presence in the White House and the official Physician to the President is usually an active-duty military officer.
While the Secret Service -- which includes the traditional plainclothes agents and the more visible uniformed division -- is responsible for protecting the President, his family, and the White House itself, the military also has a protective footprint in and around the White House complex. It's believed that amongst the White House's protective measures -- most of which are highly classified -- are anti-aircraft defenses, which are almost certainly manned by the military rather than the Secret Service. Marine Corps guards also are stationed at the White House (often seen opening and closing doors while manning the entry and exit points around the West Wing) as sentries and sometimes act as military valets during events hosted by the President in the White House. The role of the Marine sentries is purely ceremonial as opposed to protective.
And one of the most important White House responsibilities of the military is transportation. The White House Transportation Agency is responsible for all aspects of the President's travel, and the military works in tandem with the Secret Service on planning and carrying out the immense logistical challenges of transporting the President anywhere in the world -- a challenge magnified by the sheer size of Presidential traveling parties. A Presidential motorcade consists of, on average, 50-60 vehicles. And the majority of those vehicles actually have to be transported from the United States to wherever the President is traveling -- even if it is to several different foreign countries or continents. The Air Force is, obviously, responsible for the President's plane, along with any other aircraft making the trip which are usually carrying White House staff, members of the press, or cargo. For short distances that can be made by helicopter, the Marine Corps takes the lead. And any ground travel by motor vehicles is handled by the Army.
Security and the President's personal protective detail is always led by the Secret Service, but the military is responsible for many of the day-to-day logistics of the institution of the Presidency, which illustrates why the White House is an important military command and control base.

[A map showing the locations of all the U.S. Military bases peppered across the Japanese islands. U.S. Occupation of Japan, officially from 1945-1952 never really ended for the Japanese people]
🇯🇵🇺🇲 🚨 OKINAWA REJECTS HIGH COURT ORDER TO FACILITATE U.S. MILITARY BASE RELOCATION PLAN
The Japanese Okinawa Prefectural government rejected a High Court order Monday to approve and facilitate a revised plan for the relocation of a key United States Military Base located on the island district.
Okinawa Prefecture will file an appeal to the Supreme Court of Japan, according to Kyodo News, citing a government official.
Okinawa's Prefectural Governor, Denny Tamaki issued a statement declaring the ruling had "various problems," making it "difficult" for him to approve the modified plan, when, he says, many residents of Okinawa are strongly against the planned relocation of the Futenma U.S. Military Base.
Japan's central government is expected to approve the changes via proxy as early as Thursday, while Japan's Ministry of Defense said it will begin ground improvement work in mid-January.
The current situation began on Wednesday when the Naha-branch of the Fakuoka High Court ordered Tamaki to approve the central government's revised design changes as part of the relocation plan for the Futenma Air Force Base.
The controversial project aims to relocate the U.S. Air Force Base in Ginowan to the Henoko coastal area in Nago, also on the island of Okinawa.
Previously, Tamaki had told the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva that the heavy concentration of U.S. Military Bases in Okinawa threatens peace in the region, noting that the Japanese government is forcibly filling in previous coastline to build the infrastructure for the Military base, and that they do so over the negative opinions of local residents.
The Governor has also expressed concerns over the excessive levels of toxic substances detected in the waters around U.S. Military Bases in the area.
The island of Okinawa hosts 70 percent of all the U.S. military bases in Japan while accounting for only 0.6 percent of the country's total land area. More than 70 percent of local residents opposed the U.S. military base construction on the Henoko landfill, showed a 2019 Okinawa Prefecture voting results.

Honduran Vice Minister of Foreign Relations Gerardo Torres was introduced by a teacher, Lucy Pagoada — Coordinator of D19: Libre Party USA-Canada and Costa Rica — at a full house in the People’s Forum in New York on Dec. 6. Following is a summary of his remarks, addressed to the enthusiastic gathering of Hondurans and their supporters
The electoral victories in Latin America are only part of a much larger struggle. While each country is taking making its own way, we see the alliance with each of these progressive movements as a base of support for our own development.

Kim Jong Un orders military to speed up war preparations
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has ordered the military, nuclear sector and munitions industry to speed up preparations for war to counter what he called unprecedented confrontational moves by the United States, state media reported Thursday.
Kim told a key meeting of the country’s ruling party on Wednesday that Pyongyang would expand strategic cooperation with “anti-imperialist independent” countries in the new year, the KCNA news agency reported. KCNA said:
He (Kim) set forth the militant tasks for the People’s Army and the munitions industry, nuclear weapons and civil defence sectors to further accelerate the war preparations.
South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol arrived in the eastern county of Yeoncheon on Thursday to inspect the defence capability of frontline military unit. He called for immediate retaliation in case of any provocation by North Korea.

900 US military bases,for what ?
Tumblr media
Some useful remarks to be added to this very informative Sputnik’s infographic. The 900 us military bases spanning the entire world clearly demonstrate that there is no International law which is a mere fiction as the relationships between what is be called the states are governed by the law of the strongest by hegemonic power using its military power to maintain the statu quo, that is global capitalism solely governed by the law of the jungle. Since its inception, the United States started to show hegemonic and imperialistic velleities witnessed by the infamous Monroe doctrine transforming the new independently Latin American into US backyard excluding the European powers in particular the former colonizer Spain the western hemisphere. The so called American Spanish war and the military intervention in Cuba in 1898 was the first step in US imperialism and its hidden motivation deeply studied an documented by the renown political scientist and historian, William Appleman Williams in his very exciting and seminal book highly recommended to those all who want to understand the main reasons behind US bloody and endless wars, “the roots of the modern American empire” with this telling subtitle, “A study of the growth and shaping of social consciousness in a market place society” published in 1969. By reading this book, one can understand why the Bolshevik revolution and the rise of the Soviet Union under the rule of Stalin fatally became the nightmare of the United States as the new communist global power especially after the WWII represented a real threat to unbridled American hegemony. Atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki on August 6 and 9, 1945, was but a test before wiping out 76 major cities in the USSR leading to the collapse of the Soviet power and the dismantlement of the biggest country in the world into minuscule ethnic states as it will be the case in Yugoslavia after the death of Marechal Josep Tito and bombing of Serbia by NATO’s forces in 1999. Some final remarks must be done, (1) Israel should not be considered as foreign state hosting US military base, it is itself a large US military base; (2) for example, there is no military base in France since De Gaulle ordered the closing of US military base, but this country participated directly or indirectly in all US bloody wars since the WWII in particular in the African continent where the US marines are hosted inside a French military base in Djibouti, camp Lemonnier, a larger French military base leased to the United States. Till now, there is no US military base in Nigeria, but the Nigerian government under the rule of former drug dealer in Chicago, Bola Tinubu is negotiating with the US government to host a military base there. The new military leadership in both Burkina Faso and Niger requested the closing of US military base.

🇯🇵 🚨 JAPANESE HIGH COURT ORDERS OKINAWA GOVERNOR TO APPROVE U.S. MILITARY BASE DESIGN CHANGES
BREAKING: OKINAWA| A Japanese High Court has ordered the Governor of Okinawa, Denny Tamaki, to approve design changes to a U.S. Military Base being relocated on the island on Wednesday.
According to reports, the Naha branch of the Fukuoka High Court ruled in favor of the central government in a lawsuit filed in October to force the Governor to approve design changes to the relocation effort of the U.S. Marine Corps' Futenma air base, which is being moved from Ginowan to the Henoko coastal area in Nago, which is also in Okinawa.
Tamaki will have three business days to approve the project changes before the land, infrastructure, transport, and tourism minister will be authorized to approve the changes itself.
Tamaki still has the right to appeal the decision to Japan's Supreme Court, however the project will not be blocked while the decision is being appealed.
Earlier in September, Tamaki told United Nations Human Rights Council meeting in Geneva that the concentration of U.S. Military bases in Okinawa threatens peace, and noted that the central government is forcibly filling in previous coastline sea areas to build the new base, regardless of the opinions of local residents.
The Governor has also expressed concern about the excessive levels of toxic chemicals detected in the waters around U.S. Military bases in Japan.

Gloria Verdieu at VII International Seminar for Peace and the Abolition of Foreign Military Bases in Guantanamo, Cuba: U.S. rulers continue to flounder in their attempts at containing the coronavirus due to their dependence on the market, rather than a more democratic and centralized approach in line with the international community.
The U.S. government is now aggravating the crisis by taking vital resources needed to combat a further spread of the virus for the purpose of sending $33 billion more to fund a proxy war in Ukraine, including arming Nazi military regiments there, and extending NATO’S hunger for oil profits and regime change – targeting Russia and China.
