The paradox of vote trading in Nigeria, By Obo Effanga
The paradox of vote trading in Nigeria, By Obo Effanga
At the root of the problem is the economic imbalance and inequality in our society, which, if fixed, would to a large extent reduce the number of poor people whose vulnerability currently is such that they can easily be dangled pittances in exchange for their votes. However, it is also a paradox that those saddled with the responsibility to fix the economy are also the primary beneficiaries of…

The lives and works of these great artists can be traced back to the places they lived and worked in.
For example, Rembrandt van Rijn was a Dutch painter who was born in Leiden, Netherlands in 1606. He later moved to Amsterdam, where he became one of the greatest painters of the Dutch Golden Age.
His creative process involved both careful planning and spontaneous improvisation. For example, he would carefully study light and shadow, and then use free-flowing brushwork to create outstanding works such as The Night Watch (1642). Another great example is Leonardo da Vinci who lived during the Italian Renaissance.

What manner of humans?, By Austin Emaduku
What manner of humans?, By Austin Emaduku
Seeing that the internet does not forget, how do their consciences deal with it when confronted with their strong views of the recent past, especially where they have been very proficient in pouring expletives and vituperations against the present “principal” and political party, while now being required to do the reverse? “One day we are bed-fellows, the other night we are both enemies. A few weeks ago, when we were having the Visa discussions, you said you suspected that the US military might have some role in securing whatever Harry's visa status is. With this Nigeria visit announcement coming from the Nigerian Dept of defence do you think that suspicion has more meat now? Last week Harry also did that random award announcing for a US army vet while wearing his medals. He seems to be doing a lot of these weird things lately, almost acting like an ambassador for the US army which is just so odd.
Why do you think the army is going with this? What's the basis for having a high profile foreign prince who served in the foreign army being a face of US military? Surely someone in the higher up ranks must find this odd and unsuitable.
The army, pretty much being an arm of the country's govt and security services (even if independent) does not need a face or a brand ambassador. Especially, when these gigs are more beneficial to the person acting important rather than the army itself.
What could Harry possibly bring to the table??
No, I don't think the US military had anything to do with the Nigeria visit. That was all exclusively Harry and Invictus Games / Archewell / whatever charity sponsored them. Largely because if the US military was involved, they'd have sent an American representative, not a British national living in the US.
I suspect why the US military is entertaining Harry may have to do with declining enlistment numbers. They may see him as someone who can help recruit younger generations. The military does do this from time to time - they get worried about declining enlistment so they get schemey and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Don't get me wrong; we still have a huge military, but the enlistment numbers today is a steep 40% drop from the enlistment numbers of the 1980s, and for an all-volunteer force, that's concerning.
It doesn't make any sense to me. The US military has never had celebrity ambassadors like this. They've always used their base commanders, flag officers, joint chiefs, secretaries, other politicians with a military background, etc. for that kind of recognition and acknowledgement. The celebrities are really only used for entertaining troops that are deployed to combat in USO tours (which Meghan participated in during her Suits days).
I know the US military is concerned about Russian, Chinese, and North Korean aggression in the Indo-Pacific but they wouldn't be partnering with an ex-prince to do their negotiations and contribute to their national defense strategy.
This is utterly bizarre and something I can't figure out. I have no idea what the US military's goal with this is.

The Ibadan Forest of Horror:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
On March 22, 2014, in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria, a group of motorcyclists discovered a dilapidated building in the Soka forest while searching for another driver who had disappeared in the area. After locating the structure, the motorcyclists encountered 23 shackled and severely malnourished individuals. A myriad of body parts, personal belongings, and human bodies in various stages of decomposition were also discovered in the surrounding region.
These particular crimes in the forest are thought to have been orchestrated by a nameless crew of ritualists patronized by affluent Nigerians and politicians who use humans for sacrificial purposes. Some survivors stated that the ritualists responsible kidnapped their victims by claiming to be part of the urban renewal initiative operated by the Oyo State government. However, there appears to be no explicit evidence supporting this theory.
Residents of the area claimed that the Oyo State Police declined to investigate the forest despite receiving numerous reports of previous abductions within the state. Some even asserted they had contacted the authorities after hearing awful screams coming from the forest. Despite the claims, the Oyo State Police still had zero interest in investigating the whereabouts of the savages involved with these disturbing activities.
The buildings have since been eradicated, and the federal government redeveloped the area into Oyo State Comprehensive Model School, bringing the community a revived sense of hope for the coming years. To this day, no suspects in connection with the monstrosities found in the Soka forest have been arrested, and the area is still regarded as dangerous to visit.

Harry and Meghan in Jamaica are soft-power dynamite. Britain is left with kryptonite William and Kate
Tumblr media
Nels Abbey
At times like these, it’s clear that the Sussexes represent a missed opportunity for a UK that needs friends in the world
Fri 26 Jan 2024 11.25 CET
Tumblr media
Left to right: the Duchess and Duke of Sussex; the Jamaican prime minister, Andrew Holness, and his wife, Juliet; and its culture minister, Olivia Grange, at the premiere of Bob Marley: One Love in Kingston on 23 January 2024. Photograph: Jason Koerner/Getty Images for Paramount Pictures,
A popular Nigerian adage says “the cow never knows the value of its tail until it is chopped off”. In many tragic ways, this speaks to today’s Britain. From EU membership, to competent leadership, to low inflation, it seems necessary for Britain to lose things to appreciate their importance.
This week, look at Prince Harry and Meghan being feted in Jamaica. See the soft-power skills they carry with them, and think about that Nigerian adage.
In much of the British media, Harry and Meghan are all-year panto villains. But around the world, they could not be more loved – often for the very reasons they are despised in the British media. They are the soft power we could have enjoyed with the increasingly dominant, increasingly self-confident non-white world, especially the Commonwealth.
It’s not just that they are royals. Prince William and Kate headed to “no problem” Jamaica in 2022, and encountered problems aplenty. As their PR fiasco unfolded, they were derided for shaking hands with Jamaican children through wire fences, and for motoring viceroy-style through crowded streets in a fancy Land Rover. At the nightmare’s end, Jamaica basically handed Britain its P45, informing the royals of its intention to be a republic, to “move on”.
Tumblr media

Still, Harry has something the royals he left behind and the likes of Chillax Cameron can never have. He has familiarity, an ease with difference – and he has Meghan.
In 2012, he also had the love of the UK press and public. He was praised for his warm embrace of the then Jamaican PM, Portia Simpson-Miller, and was photographed larking about with Usain Bolt. “He has shown himself to be a natural ambassador, a diplomat in a very real sense – one hug from him has (at least partly) dissipated the bad feeling of generations … It is inconceivable that any other royal could have pulled this off quite so effectively,” gushed the Mail on Sunday.
‘God Save the King’ doesn’t fall from Jamaican lips so easily. Soon we’ll be a republic
Barbara Blake-HannahRead more
But that was then, before the British media’s own version of Orwell’s “two minutes hate” became a thing. Now, much of the press sees Harry and Meghan glad-handing and being glad-handed in Jamaica, surfing the love at the premiere of the Bob Marley biopic, and they don’t much like it. “Meghan and Harry pose next to anti-royal Jamaican prime minister who wants to ditch the monarchy and warned Wills and Kate they’ll never be king and queen of his nation – as Charles undergoes prostate surgery and the Princess of Wales recovers in hospital,” thundered the Mail. “The hubris of Harry and Meghan’s Jamaican photoshoot,” snorted the Spectator. “Crown fools: ‘Provocative’ Harry & Meghan spark royal row as they meet Jamaican politicians plotting to oust Charles as head of state,” jeered the Sun.
Britain understood Harry’s value and soft power in 2012, so what changed? Answer: Harry fell in love with, and married, a Black woman. That could have been a boon for this country, here and abroad; instead it’s a might-have-been. And what might have been to our reputational benefit is what has been happening in Jamaica.
The UK headlines and sour grapes tell you one thing: we messed up and we know it. Meghan was, and remains, soft-power dynamite, and all we have now is the soft-power kryptonite of Wills and Kate and the Windsor “firm” that spurned her. Still, that’s us: we never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity.

So, skippy, this is an interesting Reddit submission with lots of dots we can connect between Missan and Meghan. 1. Missan lured Boris Becker to a million dollar Nigerian Oil deal but it failed that bankrupt Becker. 2. Missan father was a politician and businessman. And, his uncle is a permanent UN representative of Nigeria to UN. ( possible connection) 3. Missan hanging around Soho House in 2013. So Missan and Meghan may have been friends long before they made it official via Lili’s 1st birthday. 4. 2016, Missan and Meg hanged out in Soho London a day before she “Harry” Harry. 5. Missan was not an avid photographer until 4 years ago ( at of this blog) when his wife gave him camera.
My POW. 1. Perhaps Missan know more about the moonbump than we thought. Perhaps he knows or supplied the “surrogate”? 2. Why Nigeria? Harry love Africa pre-Meghan but never frequented Nigeria. As for Meghan, why Nigeria? The obvious denominator is Missan. Did Missan and Meghan lured Harry into the fold to invest in Nigeria oil and other natural resources? 3. Have their backers in Hollywood and high politicians invested in this million-dollar oil deal too? 4. Is their tour IG related but can be a Nigerian Military solidifying the deal further behind the scenes? Why would spend millions on this tour for nothing? I am sure IG discussions can be done via online calls.
So, Missan is another major player in the Meghan saga. Read the comments section too.

Hi!  Thank you, great post.  However, I doubt Missan arranged for surrogate….I don’t believe they have children….they had no need for a surrogate/s.😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
