The superb international burlesque star, performance artist and illusionist Vicky Butterfly @mlle_vicky_butterfly wearing an amazing 1920s-inspired gothic web robe.
Photographed in 2013 by Maria S. Varela @mariasvarelaphoto backstage at a theater in Germany after a performance of Vicky Butterfly’s “A Spider’s Kiss”.
This outstanding photo has been occasionally mentioned online as a 1920s image of Louise Brooks.
In 2016 Vicky Butterfly posted an informative video discussing Louise Brooks and how she inspired her.

Audrey Hepburn in Ondine, which opened in New York’s 46th Street Theatre (now the Richard Rodgers Theatre) on 18 February 1954. It ran for 157 performances.
For her performance in Ondine, Audrey received glowing reviews. The New York Times called her “magical” and “rapturously beautiful.” She received Antoinette Perry Award for Excellence in Broadway, more commonly known as the Tony Award, for Ondine in March 1954.

About all this Nietzche stuff. Do you really think there are super-intellects?
Yes, as matter of fact, I do.

Irene Dunne later recalled the scene where she pretends to be Cary Grant’s ill-bred nightclub performer sister, which was written over a weekend and handed to her on the morning she was scheduled to film it. She was supposed to do a burlesque bump in the middle of her musical number, a move she was never able to do. Leo McCarey told her to just say, "Never could do that" when she got to that moment. She did, it stayed in the film, and Dunne found it "a choice comic bit."

Happy New Year to you and yours. We closed the chapter of life that is 2022 and begin anew. Last year, I began choosing a word to live by each day of the year, and that word was gratitude. It helped me reflect on all the things I was grateful for each and every day. My loved ones, my cats, a roof over my head, food on my table, and being able to experience so many wonderful moments. My gratitude extends to all of you for showing me so much love and support this year. Your comments do mean so much. Even if I don't get a chance to respond, I do see them and am grateful to you all. That's not to say that the year didn't come with its pain and anguish. But I persevered. And I am so very grateful for the moments of growth, no matter how difficult, because I came out stronger, maybe a little banged up, but stronger. I don't know what word I will use yet for this year. There are a few I've narrowed it down to: love, kindness, healing, warmth, perseverance, and journey. Regardless of the word that finally speaks to me, I will carry gratitude with me, as it still resonates so very strongly within me. Thank you all for your warmth and kindness. Which word have you chosen for your year, New years resolutions, or intentions have you set?
