i've hit an auron block i just can't draw him today .

artist buddies i hope im not the only one who just has to draw my fave to perfection (to my liking) and then boom

my soul crumbles when i mess him up so i go into this mentally unwell spiral of drawing on a loop until something good happens

(me rn drawing aurons in pen until i like him again)

the three on the bottom are literally like 2 inches tall each

wowww okay, so i just stumbled upon these in my sketchbook! apart from writing, i used to draw for hours on end everyday back then. started when i was around 10, then quickly realized it was something i was actually really passionate about. i think i drew all these like…five years ago maybe? i do remember drawing Roger’s eye and not wanting to take a picture of it upon completion because i’d made so many mistakes, so the paper was smudged horribly. i don’t think i’ve picked up a graphite pencil in a long time, but seeing these makes my inner child feel proud haha! also, that last drawing of Roger (i’m sure a lot of you know which photograph was my reference) is the best thing i’ve ever drawn i think, apart from a portrait i did of Björk a while back. it’s my best work, BUT…the neck and head of his bass is so embarrassingly wonky so please do yourself a favor, and pretend it doesn’t exist. the photograph is blurry there, and i hadn’t yet learned how to draw the illusion of blear. anyway, i think these are cool and simply wanted to share, because i don’t think i’ve ever shared these with anyone. also, Nick doesn’t have any eyelashes for some reason???

Silhouettes

Tried out a few backgrounds first, I felt the red and blue backdrops popped out too much

I mainly took inspiration from my sketches but I wanted to create something horror-like, but also in the style of a story book, which is why I chose to do it on brown paper.

I’m really happy with the crumpled effect of the final piece,

Right now in my sketchbook I’m exploring the idea of eldritch horror and have been exploring the visuals for what I could use to show the cosmic knowledge that those stories usually have. Showing the information burst out of a characters head and flowering like and idea. The presence of eyes showing the presence of greater beings watching down.
