A skull and crossbones marks the grave of Aaron. He was just 3 when he passed away in 1740. Because death can come to anyone, young or old.

Don't mind, Omega. He's just being dramatic. Thank you so much @abbeyofcyn and @thegunnsara for pulling me into this hilarious mashup as well as @kittynomore @tapakah0 @hylwicks and @isaacz for letting their characters be a part of it! Figured I would use this opportunity to do my Replica introduction as well!
The @tmntaucompetition has barely even started and I am already overwhelmed by the amount of asks and support I've received! Thank you everyone! There are so many things I want to respond to, but I just don't have the time!
However I am so excited to get to interact with some of you! I'll be sure to respond to a few more that reference Omega directly when I can (looking at you @intotheelliwoods and @karonkar )!
Also, please don't destroy my asks trying to offer chew toys to Donnie... it's too late. His fate has been sealed. He's in autistic robot hell now. Goodnight sweet prince.
Also also, uh... THAT one image? Don't think about it too hard. :)

At this cemetery there were a lot of sad children's graves such as this one. In my travels I come across so many graves of children and it never ceases to put me in an emotional state. I mean the loss of life was crushing. Sometimes whole families would get wiped out. And parents were constantly grieving for their lost children, often lost at a very young age. Such a devastating time to live in, America during the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. If you got sick, even with a simple cold, there was a good chance you might not make it. Death was always close, nothing was certain. Symbols of death were everywhere. Death's heads. Flying Hourglasses. Skull and Cross Bones. Willows symbolizing extreme sadness during the 19th century. The inscription "Memento Mori," roughly Latin for "Remember death. " I've even seen that phrase too, on some old gravestones. So I am always drawn to these gravestones.

You know, I feel like we're not talking enough about the fact that Alastor has in his room a full reproduction (?) of a swamp-forest that's highly likely very similar to the one where he was killed. Talk about being morbid.
Edit: someone pointed out in the comments that the swamp-forest is called bayou. It's a kind of ecosystem in Louisiana.

the fact that they use the figurehead izzy defaced for "not doing its job" to instead give him his purpose and identity back. the fact that figureheads were historically not only fixtures of stature and power but also, to their crews, "the eyes of the ship guiding them safely home". the fact that izzy protected the goth crew from a lot of edward's spiraling ire physically, the fact that when izzy was presumed gone and dead the ship was steered and then moored in a storm. the fact that without his intervention they would have likely died in that storm, but instead afterwards were able to be come across by the other half of their crew and brought "home". you see the vision, don't you?
