Nahida came running from, somewhere?? Its kinda just very floaty dreamy in here so, unclear, she’s beaming with a giddy little smile (💘)

It’s… so much more than what her game model could manage.

I mean, you knew that, of course you did, but- to see the tiny goddess smiling in person, her cute chubby arms waving in the air, her cheeks all plump with baby fat from her excited smile, pretty green eyes that sparkle only in the way excited toddlers do-

It was just…wow. 🥺

You can’t help it, her sheer carefree excitement, exactly like a child but you know that she must be really overwhelmed with joy if shes letting herself act like that so blatantly, you feel ur muscles tug gently into a smile, you try to muffle it but ur happiness leaks out anyway

She's panting as she stumbles on short chubby legs to reach you.

After just staring at you with those big green clover eyes for a few seconds, she physically shakes her head to knock herself out of it,

Nahida places her hand over her heart, and bows elegantly, going back to looking at you with a small but bright smile, her voice is kind of quiet, muffled in a soft way, much like her game depiction,

…Nahida begins to look a little concerned… her eyes get impossibly bigger.

Nahida had apparently quickly spread the news that you can’t understand them, but luckily it seems like all the characters still know you!

Alhaitham is pretty much a constant by your side, you knew he was vaguely studying linguistics in the akademiya… but that knowledge still didn’t prepare you to be intensely stared at with his diamond pupils for hours. 💀

Then he’d tap your shoulder or something, and you quickly picked up that he wanted you to just try and say something.

Then he would scribble for hours.

Turns out they can understand you about as much as you understand Teyvat language (s? You can’t even tell if there are multiple languages, that’s how unrecognizable this language is, damn)

The more extroverted or friendly people, like Venti, Yoimiya, Kazuha, Jean, Noelle, Amber, Xingqiu, Hu Tao, Zhongli, Ganyu, Barbara, Beidou, Collei, Ayaka, Gorou, Nilou

At least attempt to talk to you, and try very hard to watch what you gesture with your hands or body language

They're pretty much ready to play charades at all times for you lol

Interestingly enough, they only ever understood you when you typed in the chat (with other ppl)

But even then not immediately,

Sumeru scholars basically had to make a whole new department (regardless of how much you play with others) to decipher your ancient language (to them) like those old clay tablets with cuneiform we’re still translating?

Like that, your words appear in elemental magic heavy places (so like that abyss lang. It’ll appear on walls or structures, so like Andrius’ stone colosseum? in Wolvendom gained some of your chat replies inscribed and glowing a rainbow of colors on the top edges of the walls)

Much like the abyss language you see throughout genshin, most Teyvat scholars (across nations/internationally) agreed your language is the oldest form of language known!

It’s like modern languages having roots in older ones, like English with Latin, greek, or German roots, or Sanskrit and the Prakrit for Hindi language today

…so of course no one really speaks the root languages anymore, because they’re so old, so those ancestors who spoke those languages would have little to no understanding of their modern counterparts…

Occasionally if you turned your mic on for whatever reason there would be a gentle whisper on the winds in Mondstadt of your voice,

or your laugh in the waves washing ashore in Inazuma and Fontaine,

your startled noises or screams from battling bosses mixed with the landslides in the mountains of Liyue

So they know what you sound like, but that doesn’t mean they understood your language :/

Nahida had been hoping that you’re actual physical form being here would help improve the language barrier

But unfortunately, those things remained the same, but at least you were physically here to talk to now and give more content for the scholars to study rather than them having to make do with your snippets of language from chats

…so needless to say, it took you a long time to realize they viewed you as a god of sorts.

You kind of knew something was up when at least two allogenes were by your sides at all times, or eremites would replace them if they really couldn’t stick around

You figured they knew you weren’t nearly as combatant-ready as they were at all times, hell you obviously didn’t have a vision hanging off you somewhere, and you only really had a knife strapped to a belt, courtesy of the Thirty Corps

You are still kind of convinced that the people of Teyvat, or Sumeru at least, are just pretty polite (and in the allogenes case, very kind or friendly, even people like Alhaitham or Cyno, resting bitch faces they have, seem to soften a little when they’re walking around with you… maybe you’re just imagining it…)

And as much as you would love to wait until they understand you to do something more fun, as you can see the frustration on Tighnari’s face (and his ears try to flatten back hehe) as he looked like he was debating heatedly with some of the Sumeru sages who insist you stay in the city

…so why not go?

It’s not like they’re going to get it anytime soon, and it’s still too frustrating for yourself to charade things or draw things for them because you can’t even hear their guesses 💀

You can totally handle being like the traveler too,

You still have access to your inventory afterall! Plus, lucky for you, you still find a pass for the Serenitea Pot in your little pocket dimension!

So now you have somewhere to sleep at night, and while most of your stuff went to the traveler’s pack, the things like Primogems

(which.. Okay now you really want primogems bc theyre so pretty and shiny irl)✨️

And other high-level things, or just objects of no use for the traveler (so basically all your hoarded level up stuff and infinite amount of weapons lol) came along with you

So you did have to wander the first week or so around the city and even commission the Adventurer’s Guild to grab you food supplies to cook with

Filling up, along with a few big waterskins, you’re off!

...and everyone collectively has a heart attack!

When you show up in Ghandaraville essentially all “✨️💖☺️✨️” on Tighnari’s doorstep-

He chokes on the tea he’d been sipping on before he opened the door lol

He looks a little frazzled so you try to just gesture with “calm yourself small animal” energy with your hands

“Tivzgvhg Oliw! R'n- R- sld wrw blf-?! Mvevinrmw, xlnv rm, xlnv rm, ivhg! ...R mvvw gl hvmw z nroorlm ovggvih mld gl ylgs gsv vmgriv xrgb lu Hfnvif, gsv Zxgrmt Tizmw Hztv, zmw gsv Nzgiz nlhg orpvob…” he began out looking at you and talking and gesturing to his small dining table (the game sucks, his house looks great and has lots of cool rooms filled with interesting plants… oooo…so pretty...)

But then he kinda just devolved into rambling, no need to understand, you can read the vibes and just know that's what he's doing lol

Collei eventually ducks in, and she looks a little panicked?

She’s quickly followed by Cyno, pushing past her to call out into the house,

His voice seems hard and stressed, looking at Tighnari, “Grtsmzir, szev blf hvvm gsv Tivzgvhg Oliw zmbdsviv, gsvb dviv hvvm xlnrmt gl Tszmwziezeroov ozhg-”

Cyno stops and blinks.

Collei’s mouth is slightly dropped open, she also just, blinks.

You blink.

Tighnari blinks tiredly, he looks like he’d rather be done for the day, you think.

The doctor sighs, and moves his head to nod towards the other dining seats.

Sumeru foods are so much better looking in real life, and they’re so good too, your practically bloated by the end of dinner,

As a thank you, bc u cant say it obv, you just gesture for Tighnari to stay sitting, and he gives you a raised eyebrow and a suspicious ear twitch

But stays still, and you reach out to finally hit the eight-pointed star hovering over his, and all playable characters chests at all times.

Like you suspected, it brings up a holographic character menu, but rather than his full model, it kind of hovers in front of Tighnari’s face, replacing his old 3D model self with framing the real thing for a portrait just in front of his face

The poor Denro user nearly jumps a foot out of his chair as he looks in shock at your screen, you do the same “chillll boy” gesture with your hands and press his shoulders for a second to remind him to not run off or panic

Cyno and Collei had done the dishes and put up leftovers, and are now standing behind Tighnari, watching with equally wide eyes,

“...Dszg ziv gsvb wlrmt gl blf?

Cyno’s voice is even deeper and quieter than usual, you feel goosebumps run up your spine

“Ziv blf tvggrmt yovhhvw, Nzhgvi Grtsmzir?!” Collei’s sweet voice is also hushed like she’s witnessing something sacred, Tighnari gently shakes his head negatively in response, his shoulders shrugging,

“Nzbyv? R uvvo... z orggov hgilmtvi, zmw nb Erhrlm rh zxgrmt fk zh dvoo…”

Though he’s replying, Tighnari’s eyes haven’t once left your ancient magic? technology device? hovering in front of him,

and as he crosses his arms and squints to try and look closer at everything floating in front of him, you can see the childlike gleam of awe in his green eyes, (so cute) in fact, now that you glance up and look, both Collei and Cyno have the same quietly excited and fascinated sparkle in their eyes too

With a displeased sneer, you chuck his old level one bow into the material grinding spots, hope he wasn’t attached to that…

Oh well, he’ll like the new one better, afterall, with no characters, all your best weapons and artifacts are ready to use!

With a small smile of reassurance, you finally finish gearing Tighnari up, tap a miniature version of that 8-point star in the corner like an “X” button, and it retreats like a classic TV set📺 turning off into his chest, he startles but then carefully stands

You decide to just start making decisions bc its worked out so far ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

And grab his hand and haul him out into the forest, Collei letting out a surprised squeak, her and Cyno hurrying after

You reach the nearest clearing, and gesture at Tighnari like a bow and arrow firing, he gets it, and your glad he already trusts you, because he doesn’t take long to summon his bow

He takes aim at a smaller tree about two cars length away

You can feel them all holding their breathe, as Tighnari charges it with Dendro, the arrowhead glowing, (it looks so cool and badass irl god you feel envious even tho ur already here-)

The ranger lets it fly, it streaks neon green, whistling through the air, it hits the tree-

and it fucking explodes.

Vines and leaves and the trees roots all rapidly swell like theyre filled with water, like it literally got hit by a superhero with plant powers, which, not that far off actually.

The green floating Dendro seeds make a ring around the tree its so full of elemental energy-

You give a wild grin, you still got it, hell yeah. >:)

Your grin widens as you look over at Tighnari, Collei, and Cyno

Cyno has a smirk lighting up his face, eyes eager, Collei’s jaw has dropped and she’s just frozen staring as the tree finally settles from the burst of the dendro powered arrow

…Tighnari has lowered his bow, and his mouth is only slightly open, his ears perked straight up into the air, shaking with excitement? Happiness? Interest? You don’t know how peopl-animal-hybrid ears work,

and you STILL cant talk to any of them to ask what they thought, so looks will have to do >:/

Tighnari is the first to move, his head snapping over to look at you, the brightest, kinda feral tbh, smile taking over his face-

“Blf pmld, dv xzm'g fmwvihgzmw blf, zmw blf fh, bvg R xzm'g dzrg gl hvv dszg rm gsv dliow blf'iv tlrmt gl wl mvcg. Blf'iv znzarmt."

… and you just 🙂? Cool!

Alhaitham was literally running around Sumeru City trying to find you when you left, tho you did try and leave a translatable-in-3-to-5-business days-note, he didn’t have time to translate that because you were gone.

Or worse, lost in the city, and he would never forgive himself if he lost you, esp as Acting Grand Sage-

Kaveh got a letter a day and a half later from Tighnari letting them know you were having a sleepover in Ghandarvaville lol

Kaveh also had to hunt down Alhaitham to give him said news, then force his roommate to go sit or lay down for the rest of the day to recover lmao

(Haitham honestly kinda freaked Kaveh out bc he’s never seen him that... desperate, it was like seeing a statue emote lol)

Controversial Character Tournament Round 2: Blaine Anderson from Glee vs Barok Van Zieks from The Great Ace Attorney

Blaine Anderson:

LOVE: - "you know that post that's like "fandom will call a character evil and immature and then the character is just 15 yo" because that's what happens with blaine. he's just a sweet but socially inept kid with a lot of insecurities who's trying his best. compared to most glee characters he hasn't done anything wrong in his life. and yes he cheated on his boyfriend that one time, but he was super depressed afterwards (also this is glee literally every character has cheated and none have suffered as most as blaine because of it). in conclusion he's just a silly goose. my little princess <3"

HATE: (tumblr will not let me format this one bc its too long)

"A lot of people say he's the male Rachel Berry, and while I think that is absolutely a true statement, I actually don't mind his personality all that much. Literally everyone in Glee has a personality that ranges from inconsistent to downright horrendeus, so instead of talking about what he's like, here's some things he canonically does (buckle up, this'll be long): In season 2, when we first meet him, he's the leader of his school's showchoir. (redflag no.1/j) This gives him the freedom and authoritity to do a lot of stuff- not all bad, but he does serenade a closeted guy he doesn't know all that well, who works in costumer service AT HIS WORKPLACE, with a song about sex toys. (The guy in question ends up getting fired of course). He also gives some pretty hypocritical advice to his love interest, Kurt, about how he should try to blend in (hypocritical, cuz Blaine does the opposite and he's thriving under the attention), and he asks some insesitive questions, but those are all pretty excusable, or at least standard for Glee. In s3, him and Kurt are boyfriends, and he transitions school for him, which we could absolutely count as a decent thing, however it all kinda sours when he gets the part of Tony in the school's production of West side story. Why is this important? Kurt is a senior, and the performing arts university he's applying for is really competitive, so he needs all the extra curriculars and theatre experiance he can get. He asks Blaine to not aidition for Tony- which he agrees to- than promptly goes against that by singing one of Tony's songs at audition. He then gets offfered the role, doesn't turn it down, tells Kurt he should be happy for him, and honestly, BY GLEE STANDARDS, this is also pretty chill. Meanwhile: enter Sebastian Smythe, another contraversial character, who's now the new captain of Blaine's former showchoir, and who decides that either 1. Blaine is hot 2. Gonna use Blaine as an informat (His reasons are unclear tbh) Either way, he starts flirting with Blaine, who does end up rejecting his advances and telling him he's taken (though much later than it's probably ethical, idk tho, I'm aro). He (Blaine) really enjoys the attention though, so they end up keeping in touch. (Important for later.) Back to our main plot though; Blaime doesn't have sexual chemistry with his co-star, so the director tells him to lose his virginity (yes, you heared that right, it is fucked up). So he tries to sleep with Kurt, who of course, doesn't know that his boyfriend's sudden interest in him is due to directoral instructions. And then probably the most contraversial Blaine scene happens- see, Blaine, Kurt, and Sebastian (who Kurt hates with passion) end up going to this gaybar. Blaime gets drunk (though he only drinks one beer on screen, so we don't exactly know how drunk), and tries to sleep with Kurt in the parking lot. Kurt is visibly upset, and tells him no multiple times. Blaime doesn't oblige, and Kurt ends up shouting at him, which Blaine...doesn't take well, and blames Kurt, then leaves by foot. (They end up having sex by the end of this episode btw. No, Kurt still doesn't know about the directoral instructions. Whether he does it out of love or fear that Blaine will leave him is unclear) So we already know these two are not very good at boundries and communication, but the writers say they're "soulmates" so apperantly it's okay? Anyway, this all culminates in cheating incident no.1, where Kurt meets a guy whom he shares similar interests with, and who gives him some very cheesy compliements. They exchange numbers, and text a lot. Blaine doesn't like this. He checks their texts in secret, and then sings a song in front of the entire Glee club about how he's being cheated on, to humiliate Kurt.

Kurt insists it's not cheating, giving the example that Blaine's doing the same/used ro do the same with Sebastian. Blaine says "that's different" and they leave it at that. Kurt apologises via song. S4- Kurt moves to New York. Has to work a lot, since rebt is high, and also gets an internship at vague, so he's quite busy. Blaine feels ignored, so he cheats on him with some guy we only see the facebook profile of. They break up. S5- Blaine has a crush in this other guy, Sam. (He's been trying to get Kurt back, so him moving on is a big deal). Except gay marrige gets legalized, and Blaine decides to propose to Kurt. So he gets back together with him, then bot a week later he arranges a huge public proposal where it'd honestly just be plain emberassing to say no, but dontcha worry, because Kurt accepts. They move to New York together. Blaine becomes insecure, because Kurt gets ripped thanks to his fencing lessons, meanwhile he lrts go of himself a bit, enjoying all the fine food New York has to offer. His reaction to this is to try manipulating/tricking Kurt into eating copious amounts of food too. (To be fair, Kurt's reaction to the situation isn't perfect either, but this is not about him, their actions can co-exist without one of them necessarily having to be "the right one") S6- Kurt breaks up with Blaine. Blaine ends up going back to Ohio, and dating the guy who bullied, non-consensually kissed, than threatened to kill Kurt. (The guy did have a redemption arc, but I still dunno how to feel) You might be wondering- "wow, this was so lpng and extensive", and you'd be right but also this was mostly romantic relationship centric. There's also a lot of stuff Blaine says to his friends that make me question my sanity, but this is Glee, so that's every character in basically every episode. What makes me hate Blaine isn't even JUST all this- it's the fact that in universe, he almost never gets called-out, people take his side, it's as if the writers are condoning his actions, and I Don't Like That. I'm all for liking morally grey, or even morally dispicable characters, as long as their actions don't get excused. Hell, I started out just mildly disliking Blaine, but a lot of people paint him as innocent and pure, and that didn't feel right. Then I was ready to like him BECUASE of his questionable morality- but turns out, the guy doean't have much else going on besides this. His personality is almost the same as Rachel, except Rachel's more...full? If that makes sense? Blaine is just...bland. And inconsistent, and boring, and I just Do Not Like Him At All."

LOVE: - "man's 6'4", british, looks like a vampire, took a mental health break for 5 years thanks to the dead bodies that cropped up after he lost in court, and is uhhhhhh kinda racist which is a key part of his character. the explanation for it is divisive but he does grow as a character eventually?? i think he's fun. there's a bonus case exclusive to the 3DS version of the games where he mentions he was almost poisoned in one of the first cases he ever handled. he objects with his leg. he brings wine into court but rarely drinks it. he has bats in his office. we have no idea where the scar on his face came from. his voice actor did a subway commercial. i think he wants to believe he is the sane one in the courtroom but that title belongs to the 16 year old judicial assistant for the defense." - "I love to hate him tbh!!! He's a complex interesting character tied up in things outside of his control and being used by the antagonist to hurt people, isolated due to his grief and rumors from the public. He also sucks SO fucking bad and I want to punch him. Lovingly. But I love him I promise."

This video reminds me of 2019 all over again when jk got caught with that tattoo artist. It was clearly him then and it's clearly him now. His dog is literally in the video for fuck sake. If jm and jk broke up which I suspect due to them living separately and jm literally living with pdogg when working on FACE it makes more sense. I've long suspected that jm wrote face off about jk bc the song is clearly about a break with someone and the time frame matches. Jm and jk seem to be on good terms now (friends) like for the good of the group but I feel bad for jm bc jk constantly has been sending jm mix singles this entire year including when he was supposedly with this girl. Jm has probably saw that damn video and now thinking wtf jk. For jm's sake I hope he's moved on to someone else.

The video does remind me as well of the one in 2019 in a lot of aspects, mainly the fact that both times it was a gross invasion of privacy. As I previously said, yeah, so far I believe it's him in it, but I really hope this situation doesn't play out like 2019, though, and that JK doesn't beat himself over it. Last time, he took an year off lives because of it, so let's hope things will go better now.

"Face-off" , just like all the other songs in "Face", is personal to Jimin and comes from his own experiences but we shouldn't speculate too much on it. More than it being about a singular person, I think it is about Jimin's feelings towards some people in his life in general. He said that it was about friends betraying him, so that for sure was part of the inspiration for it. Whether JK was part of those people, is speculative and unclear. I seriously doubt he is the sole reason for the writing of the song, though. This song is a pretty heavy-hearted one, which came from some deep pain. If JK, whom Jimin have known for years (and maybe had feelings for, at some point) had really hurt him to the point of inspiring this particular song, I really don't think they would be as okay with each other as they seem to be now. Jimin may be an angel, but he is still strong and has boundaries.

I agree on the part about living with Pdogg. To me as well this further proves JM was single at the time. I disagree though about JK sending mix singles. In reality, only they know what signals they've been sending to each other in public and what's their relationship in private, but at least on welive JK has only ever send these type of signals to Jimin:

"I enjoy seeing you. I keep up with what you're doing. I support your work. I want to meet up and spent time with you. I love your company. I am happy when we are communicating"

And no, writing this isn't me being a delulu. This is literally what his actions and words in his lives meant. How that ties to their personal affairs is a question they could only answer.

Lastly, I'd say this. My ultimate bias is Jimin. Eventhough I try to be realistic and know that he too has negative qualities, I think he is a precious person that comes around very rarely in our world. I truly love him and I wish for him to be happy with someone worthy of him, whether that is JK or not. I also trust in his mind and ability to choose for himself. Lets just wait and see. If JM continues to post about JK and they remain as close as they are post-NY , than there's no reason for any of us to be salty.

They don't own us anything.

It is great that we have so many players from Czechia now like Hertl must be So Happy. I hope they all take Raška under their wing like their chaotic baby bird and help him fly 🐣

I also REALLY hope Jacob Peterson doesn't get stuck with the fucking Cuda this year bc he's more than earned his big boy contract imho. I know we got him last year but I really want him to do well!! Also literally who signs with the Sharks after being on the Cuda I know that guy must have had better options. So I hope he makes it out of the gate and stunts on these hoes [it is unclear who the hoes are]

Also enjoyed the look at Henry Thrun we got last year, for my narrative purposes I would like to see him attached to his emotional support Nick Cicek on the Sharks or Cuda, ideally the Sharks so I have a reason to live. But I'll be interested in seeing how he does over a full season in the org. Again who signs with the Sharks on purpose when you know there's a chance you end up with the Cuda, you know?? So I'll be curious to see how he does and will be watching closely* (*I will watch one single Sharks game on TV this year.)

Slight Soriku Analysis and Riku and Sora Analysis:

My thoughts don't make too much sense and I'm rambling with Soriku mentioned and also just Riku and Sora (by themselves) as well and I'm just rambling my thoughts aloud. There's some proofreading, but sorry if some stuff is off and looks wrong or something :(.

“It won’t be easy, but I hope you’ll remain the happy and cheerful Sora I know.”

This letter and moment of Kairi is really sweet. I really do enjoy seeing her admit that she wanted to become a keyblade wielder, make friends with Lea, and learn that she CAN do something on her own. She’s learning and I really like that improvement of her character (since she couldn’t do much before-).

The only thing I find so sad about this scene is the line I quoted above. She wants him to remain the happy and cheerful Sora she knows, but what about the other parts she doesn’t know? The parts that maybe even Riku doesn’t know or doesn’t recognize?

What about the Sora that is sad because of all the hurt he carries around? What about a Sora that is angry because of others actions towards him or others? What about the Sora that is lost because of so many things happening all at once around him? And what about the Sora that isn’t all cheerful? I’m just always thinking about Sora’s different sides as a person and how I wish people got to see them.

I’m thinking like this bc that’s just how I think, but ALSO because of these tags from @tharkflark1

I think about this a lot. Not just the part of him listening to only Riku, but the part of Donald and Goofy not really picking up the cues of Sora being upset or slightly angry. They’re his close friends and do care for him, but they seem to lack on the actually treating him like a person and not a child part. They push him out of the way when they talk to the king, Donald berates him on simple things like when he says, “Plain old Sora,” whenever he messes up or slips up, or telling Sora to take things seriously even if he is taking them seriously, and they just seem so overbearing in a way.

But Riku?? Riku is a lot more supportive. I take a look at Riku and Sora from KH 1 (since I’ve played to the end battles and such) to now, and I see a lot of development between the two. Now that is clearly obvious, but I really like to look at the two together.

Riku was one of the bad guys in KH 1. He betrayed Sora, I believe he used Kairi against Sora, he gave into darkness, tried to hurt Sora multiple times, hurt others for his own gain (I think), and he just did a lot of terrible actions. However, after all that, I believe he began to get better. In CoM (which I think is next after KH 1?), I believe Riku was looking for Sora, right? He was looking for him just like Sora was looking for Riku. He was searching because he needed to see him again, but he found out that he was too late.

I believe near the end we learn that Riku was simply…too late to see his best friend. When he did, Sora was put into the pod to have his memories restored (I believe most of them were? I haven’t played CoM :(). Riku then decided to help Sora wake up by finding Roxas and finding Xion (I believe he found Xion? I could be incorrect so ignore this part of the rant if this is wrong). He ended up fighting Roxas and losing (once again I cannot remember so sorry), so he gave into the darkness again. But this time it wasn’t for his own gain, it was for Sora. He no longer seemed to focus on himself or whatever he wanted, he focused on saving Sora. That’s a heck of a jump in character, but it’s so good.

Finally, we get to KH 2, and that’s where we see Riku and Sora development. This game is basically Sora helping others while looking for Riku at any given moment and!! We see their bond grow A LOT. Literally! In Mulan’s world, Sora knows it’s Riku who he is fighting and believes Riku is the one following him. At one point, Xigbar shows up, so, to me, it is unclear whether it was truly Xigbar that followed him (other than the one time where he actually fought Riku on the mountain) or Riku. But it doesn’t matter. We see Sora looking everywhere for Riku, and seeing him use their connection to do it! It isn’t shown too much here, but the moment when Sora finds Riku (thanks to Kairi as well), I think this is the moment that Sora truly stopped hiding his emotions.

Sora actually seems to be emotionally responsive to romantically involved scenes (in a way) or at least seeing two people who are very close be happy. Once again mentioning Mulan, when she and Shang get permission to work together, they basically hug and look at each other with such a wholesome look. Sora is watching and he actually begins to cry. He begins to CRY. It’s all of a sudden and he’s embarrassed and tries to hide it. Donald and Goofy still come over and kinda tease him about, which I think also messes with Sora’s confidence and such.

AND THEN!! When he finds Riku, he also breaks down, but this time it’s different. This isn’t reaction to a scene of two others, this is him in that kind of moment. He finally gets to see Riku again after so long and he’s just…so happy. Sure it may not be romantic, but it’s clear that he and Riku’s bond is very deep because of the reaction. He saw Kairi and gave her a hug and seemed happy, but the reunion between Sora and Riku was so much bigger and an attention grabber to me even before I saw them romantically together. Then we get to the fight with Xemnas, and we literally see Riku fight to protect Sora. They’re both fighting together, but we see Riku actually push Sora out of the way and take a stab in the side that was meant to possibly kill Sora. ITS JUST!! SO MUCH!! Later, Sora carries Riku to safety and is very uplifting to him. He cares deeply for him, just like Riku cares deeply for Sora.

THENN!! DDD LITERALLY HAPPENS!! Do I even need to explain? The entire game is all about them looking for each other and wanting to be together. LITERALLY! Upon waking up in Traverse Town, Sora calls out for Riku because he wants to be with him, and Riku does the same whenever he wakes up in Traverse Town. He looks for Sora and follows Joshua without a second thought only because he mentioned Sora. They both just want to be together and it shows some more development. Riku from KH 2 was distant and nervous, but he was open on the Dark Shore. He admitted how he felt towards Sora before KH 1 (not entirely but he admitted some of his feelings) and actually laughed with him. They were comfortable again, despite the terrible circumstances. Then, in DDD we see their connection in true form.

Sora is lost in the Deep Abyss because of trickery and being used, but Riku was able to save him. He followed him down and freed him from what was trapping him, and it was all mainly because of their connection. We see them both care for each other in new and open ways and its actually shown to us. We're seeing more to them together while also individually.

DDD was very soriku, but it wasn't entirely soriku. Near the end, we see Sora trapped in a nightmare that contained Kairi and Riku walking away from him. He was so excited to see them, but they just had fake smiles on their faces and walked away from him, as if he didn't exist. Then, they turned into Aqua and Terra and called him, "Ven." This confused Sora and only made him chase after Kairi and Riku more, furthering himself into the nightmare. I think this part of the game is showing Sora's desire to be with everyone again and to be safe, and showing how his nightmares and fears are literally surrounded by him losing his friends. He loses people he cares for and that's his biggest fear, or at least it's in his nightmares.

For Riku, we see him become confident in his ability and believe he is worthy for the Keyblade again (he smiles when he notices he actually summons the keyblade on Sora's heart station; not Soul Eater) and realize how important Sora is to him. He smiles whenever he talks about Sora, thinks about Sora, and even smiles when he realizes that he finally has the strength to protect what matters. I think the scene after he beats Ansem (when he says "to protect what matters," line) is when he truly realizes how much he cares for Sora and possibly that he loves him.

This is important because in KH 1, we see Riku saying he doesn't care about Sora at all several times, but now we see him confident in his feelings and in his abilities. Sora's side is also important because throughout each game, he says how his friends are always by his side and how they are his power, but this moment shows the fear of being abandoned and watching them leave him. The game shows the opposite of who they were or at least of what they have shown throughout the games at some point.

And now KH 3 is, to me, showing more about Sora's feelings. We see him become more vulnerable to people's comments, we see more people rely on him, and we see Sora wanting to do things on his own. It's really implied everywhere. We go to Twilight Town and Little Chef tries to control him, and we see that he's reallly uncomfortable with the idea. I bet it is uncomfortable to be controlled by a rat, but still, his insistence on doing it himself is common. He says he can take each villains taunting, he can handle his keyblade, he can save Aqua, he can save Riku, and can save other worlds. He seems to be piling a lot on himself and it just is sad :(.

And then, near the end, we see Sora break down again when he realizes everyone is gone. Riku is still with him, but his emotions just cloud around him and he can barely take everything in. He just screams and falls to his knees and looks up at Riku as his tears fall.

And I want to refer back to picture I added with the tags about how Riku is the one Sora listens to, and I agree that...yeah. It's mainly because Riku is kinda the only one to look at him as Sora and not as a savior or someone who needs to be a hero. He doesn't demean Sora in any way, but instead comforts him and reminds him that his journey is just as important. He doesn't bicker, tease, or do anything other than try to calm him down and realize that he's doing good. I'm near that scene now and I just LOVE it alright??? The way Sora looks up at Riku??? And the way Riku looks down at Sora and speaks to him??? And in the Keyblade Graveyard, he does the same. In a final action, he gives his life to try and protect Sora and even said HE BELIEVES IN HIM!!!

ITS JUST!! So soft guys. I love the development between the two in all of these games and the development of the boys themselves.

But now, all I wish for is for Sora to be developed further. I want to learn about his sadness in more detail, Anti-Sora, if darkness still has some sort of hold on him, learn about his memory problems (I believe some of his still aren't correct? Or at least he doesn't remember them properly? I could be wrong-), and learn about everything he holds inside himself! That break down in KH 3 always stays on my mind and the way he just looks in awe and...emotion when he sees Riku give himself up to protect him. He just....has so much going on inside him and I REALLY want it to be explored more in depth and for other characters to see it as well.

I mean, other characters other than Riku lol.

Anyways, this made no sense and I'm going off from what I remember and my brain may be a little slow and not understand many plot points correctly. It's just how I see things at some points, and if you want to correct me on any points that I mentioned that I could've gotten wrong, please tell me! I'm always excited to learn a little more about the lore of KH and actually know when I'm right or wrong. And please don't hate! This isn't meant to hate on any ship or any character in any way. If it came off like that, then I'm very sorry, but I hope you just understand that this is my thoughts that literally have rambled since that ONE scene of Kairi writing a letter lol. I've had KH 3 on pause since then-

OMGGGGG i just cried my eyeballs out reading ur albedo fic IT WAS SOO BEAUTIFUL like so raw and ik u said it wasn’t mainly a love story i really loved the way the love wasn’t particularly ROMANCEEE but love ugh and also family in their original one and their new one with klee it was such a great read and i ALSO loved your lyney fic w the flowers 😭😭😭 at first i was like ugh why did he do them so dirty and then reading ur author notes i was just like ☹️ i was a litttttlleeeee confused bc he was giving the vibes that he knew who they were and in ur author notes you wrote he didn’t reach out bc he felt guilty or didn’t want them to be involved in the fatui so why did he ask if they were like some random fan?? did he recognize them like in that instant and lie?? I'm also happy you enjoyed my Lyney fic!! I tried to imply that he recognized them in the dressing room, but pretended he didn't out of guilt! He doesn't want to get them involved in the Fatui in any way, and he's not 100% happy with the things he had to do to survive. Also, people change a lot, so he might have been a little afraid to talk to them again, too!! The fact that reader never approached him, and only left flowers (which all represent feelings of discontentment) in the dressing room also made him think they were angry with him, and he didn't deserve to see them again... When I put it like that, it's p complicated, huh... There's a lot of unresolved feelings in that fic, so I might write a second fic from Lyney's perspective, just because I realized how much is left unclear from reader's own biased view, haha!

hiii! i’m the same anon who’d sent in the ask talking ab dress yesterday (and the one who asked you for the lyrics analysis, which i’m so glad i did!! sophie mega brain frfr I LOOOVED reading your analysis 👩‍❤️‍💋‍👩)

i ALSO want to talk ab how creative the director was. firstly he was so so accommodating of mark’s ideas 🫂 and also the way he mentioned the use of open space for more scope + leaving a sense of uncertainty (or the fans unclear ab the message) is actually so well thought out. it goes well w mark’s image that’s been cultivated of being distrait or unclear in some ways of but is someone whose genius is uncovered once you understand their art, all since it’s so coded.

really resonated w me and in ways i saw mark’s use of metaphors (and sort of open ended-ness) that he brings out in his poetry reflect in the style of the music video and just, made me really happy. the shots, colours, setting and whatnot was just soooo well thought out and mark’s ideas for the mv were articulated soo well. that boy is a genius and it makes me so proud to see him flourish and explore new things (and i feel so happy to see him w a team like this <3)

YESSS this is exactly what i think!! normally i prefer more implicit imagery/messages (i enjoy knowing what’s going on) and mvs with a more apparent storyline, but i love this mv bcs (like u said) the open-endedness fit the song so wonderfully! especially when it comes to its lyrics, im especially thinking of that “talked” verse where he kinda disses those ppl who make fun of him and say he doesn’t make sense (which is not true) - i think that mv that bears meaning more in the details rather than in a full fledged storyline is a better fit :) and yeah i absolutely agree that it suits mark’s image as well! and also i think that that is somehow a continuation of child bcs the child mv was also more about visual metaphors (?), so i think it works so well in mark’s solo catalogue so far 🫶🏻 and yeah tbh i especially loved the colours in the mv and the colour grading <3 i thought that was kinda phenomenal

and YES im so happy and glad that mark is working with all these talented people, who are not only great at what they do but also seem encouraging towards him and take his vision into consideration a lot! it all makes me even more look forward to molo1 :’)

He couldn't ask for more.

The sunset spilled all around the theme park, the golden intricates of the the railings sparkled than ever before. The orange radiance of the solemn sun gives the park an even more golden glow.

Artem looked around, taking in the seemingly perfect view of what can be only described as serene. The laughter of groups of friends, families walking hand-in-hand, couples giving their significant other loving looks, people enjoying themselves left and right, the quaint smell of hotdogs and popcorn.

You spending your time with him.

The sunset made this picturesque scenery even more breathtaking, and he could come here everyday if only allowed.

Right now, right in this very moment, everything is glowing.

Especially you.

"That was really fun!" the enthusiasm in your voice never fails to make him feel the same. He loves seeing you have fun, without a care in the world. He admits, he also enjoyed getting splashed by water on the raft ride.

He unconsciously offered his arm to link with yours and when you took it as you gazed at him, he's more than satisfied.

You fit so perfectly in his arms, it feels as if you're the missing puzzle piece he never knew his being had. Even having dried after getting soaked from the raft, the warmth that your touch radiated fills his senses with comfort.

This moment of getting to spend time with the person he profoundly longed for was enough for him. Enough for now. You don't need to know his affections for now.

Does he really need to let you know?

His feelings?

It'll probably make your relationship awkward. He's not ready to risk the sweet smiles and playful looks you direct towards him just for his own selfishness.

It doesn't matter. He'll love you even if you won't, anyway.

He then stopped in his tracks, you followed suit. Not caring about the people around you. Lost in the little world the two of you shared. He looked down at your form, "Yes it was. I enjoyed it very much." because you're with me, he wanted to add but instead of saying those words, an amiable look in his cerulean eyes twinkled, and an adoring smile latched upon his features instead.

Almost as if he's telling you an unspoken confession.

His expression however, turned into mild surprise when he noticed how your gaze was filled with enchantment. With a soft glint in your lidded eyes, your brows are knitted together. You were silent.

It baffled him.

Why.

'Why are you looking at me like that?' Artem wanted to blurt out. His mouth opened to say something.

It was unclear to him as to why you looked like you were staring at his very soul.

'Why are you looking at me like,' he can't help but ask himself as he continued to scrutinize your tranced gaze, 'like you want to say the same words I desperately wanted to tell you?'

Are his feelings reciprocated?

You blinked and suddenly looked away, "Uhh, Artem, I-"

"Everyone! One more hour to go for the fireworks! Please look forward to it!" The both of you landed your eyes on the speaker, then on each other.

Artem cleared his throat, pulling the collar of his turtleneck, "You were saying?" he inquired, voice and features laced with curiosity.

You cleared your throat and pulled on your collar, mirroring him, "I..." you started as your eyes darted as if you were looking for excuses, then your orbs glinted with realization and faced Artem, "I just wanted to say that we should take pictures! This is a memorable night after all."

His eyes begin to scan the theme park and his gaze found a small photobooth just beside the merry-go-round.

"Good idea. We haven't had anything to commemorate today's fun." He brushed off your weird behavior earlier as you dragged him towards your destination.

There weren't too many people in the waiting line, there were multiple photobooths, plenty enough to not create a line of more than five costumers per booth.

As soon as it was your turn, you excitedly rummaged through the cute costumes the guests can wear in the photos.

"Look Artem," you snapped your fingers to get his attention, "This would look cute on you!" You squealed as you waved the headband with cat ears in front of his face.

This kind of trend has been circling around lately. No matter how much of a busy man Artem is, he still has seen some posts about this on the internet...

Catboy culture, wasn't it? He wondered.

"You should wear one, too." He suggested. He gingerly took the headband from you and after a few moments of hesitation, he finally gave in to the anticipation in your eyes.

Your eyes were practically sparkling taking in the sight of catboy Artem in the flesh.

"Oh my gosh." You breathed, gaping at him.

Artem blinked. "Is there something on my face?" He then turned to the mirror to check what's wrong, nothing seems to be out of the ordinary though.

"It's nothing!" You frantically waved your hand and gestured towards the camera, "Let's take a photo!" you grinned, wearing cat ears identical to Artem's.

You guys started the photoshoot with your hands making peace signs.

Ah, the classic.

The few shots after just consisted of you putting on different faces while Artem just wore different headbands each shot, with the same pose.

"You guys, please act cuter for the camera! " The photographer suddenly commented.

Isn't Y/N cute enough? Artem internally recoiled.

"Young man, put your arms around your date or something, or do a heart pose together! " Mr. Photographer added.

Artem looked back at you, his eyes meeting yours, both were wide with surprise.

He cleared his throat for what seemed like the nth time today and looked at you for approval, "Do you want to?" he asked as his hands formed half a heart.

Your cheeks lighted aflame as you raised your hand, forming half a heart to connect it with his, "I don't mind."

As your fingers touched, Artem cannot control the pink flushing his cheeks as he smiled at the camera.

The photographer continued to instruct the both of you with how you should pose. He deserves a raise for doing his job really well, Artem thinks.

After of what it seemed like endless snaps of sappy pictures, the two of you decided to print all of them.

"Now we have lots of souvenirs!" you scanned each one of the photos and Artem can't help but think how good you two look together.

He thanked the photographer for putting his all into the shoot, then you both headed for the exit.

"How was it, Artem?" You turned towards him with a profound smile.

You have lots of photos together now. He can already see himself wide awake at night, staring at your couple-like pictures.

It was more than okay.

"It was a fun experience. The cat ears aren't bad." He said as he recalled how astonished you looked when he wore the headband.

"We spent almost 20 minutes there..." You sighed as you looked at your watch.

Artem unconsciously checked his wrist watch as well, "There are 40 minutes left before the fireworks. Do you want to check out more rides before then?"

You surveyed the theme park to look for more booths, "Look at that, Artem." you pointed toward the large and loud crowd at the park's quadrangle.

"Perharps it's someone performing." Artem guessed, hearing the strums of a guitar from the speakers.

"Let's check it out!" Curious, you and Artem shuffled yourselves into the crowd. The faint singing voice grew more and more audible as you got closer to the center of the attraction.

You headed to the front for the best audience experience and the singer came into view, "Isn't that?" Artem's eyes were as wide as saucers when he recognized the person singing.

Funny how you weren't surprised, and he wondered why.

There at the center, sitting at a stool with a guitar in hand, singing with a gold microphone in front of him, was the new employee at the firm, William.

Artem frowned.

That's the guy. The guy who was getting too cozy with you, the guy causing the unpleasant pangs inside his chest.

The guy who was one of the reasons why he got the courage to ask you out on this date in the first place.

The feeling of delight earlier was now replaced by uneasiness.

"I didn't know he was a performer." Artem murmured, and he kept glancing at you.

When he saw that you were clapping your hands and a proud smile has decorated your lips - one that's not aimed him, a sudden bitter feeling overwhelmed his whole being.

You looked very happy, and he hung his head low.

He vividly remembered your smiling faces in the office yesterday, and how William seem to always hang around you.

Artem realized he wasn't special. The warm look that he witnessed from you earlier in the sunset, the look that made him think that you reciprocated his feelings, you probably do that to everyone.

He felt so stupid.

While everyone was watching William hit the notes and strum the strings, Artem was watching your every reactions, only for him to get hurt on the inside.

His heart hurts, the clenching feeling in his chest tightening with every cheer that you voiced.

He's glad it was you who were causing this pain, though.

The crowd boomed with claps and shouts as the last note finished the song, and Artem wasn't in the mood to join them.

6:30pm

"Aren't you going to greet him?" Artem's voice made you look up to him, his brows furrowed and he wasn't making eye contact.

You just brushed his behaviour off and said, "Nope. I wouldn't want to disturb him on this special day!" you felt giddy, knowing that you helped William to set this all up.

As soon as his first day in the office, which was around a month ago, he had overheard you and Kiki talking about the big opening of PAX's amusement park, and kept asking questions about the event. He then learned you were friends with the heir, Marius.

You've never seen a face as shocked as William's when he learned that.

He even made Kiki contact her insiders about the soon to be opened theme park.

Kiki asked why he was so curious, and he said he performs on gigs as a hobby, balancing it with his law career, and that he loves performing ever since he was a kid.

"Performing on the theme park's opening would definitely give me more opportunities!" He sounded so passionate that you can't help but support him.

He became bashful though, as he said, "Besides, I've been looking for an opportunity to surprise my girlfriend next month," you and Kiki beamed at him, "This would make her happy, as I made a new song that I specifically made as a gift for her birthday. I'll sing it on the opening if I'm allowed."

That's why ever since, you became close with William. Whenever you talk though, he almost always talk about her girlfriend.

"30 minutes remaining for the fireworks display!!!" The speakers announced.

You were excited for the fireworks, and an idea popped out of your mind.

"Artem," you called him out "Let's ride on the ferries wheel, that way we're up in the sky as the fireworks erupt," you dragged him to the ferris wheel's ticketing booth, "I heard that it takes 20-30 minutes for a capsule to be on top of the wheel, the time is perfect for us!"

"Can we be alone in the capsule?" Artem suddenly requested, his eyes filled with a look you can't fathom. He looked so vulnerable.

"Yes, that's actually normal. We can request that for the youngest senior attorney with 99% win rate!" You grinned and you expected him to send you one of his gentle smiles, but he just turned his head away, and looked at the distance.

You take a good look at him again once you got the tickets, he's still looking away, a solemn demeanor in his face.

You can't help but wonder what he's thinking. He's been acting a little weird, you thought.

Does he not want to hang out with you anymore?

"Artem, if you don't want to, you can tell me. I won't be mad." You eyed him with concern, "We can just sit on the bench or something." you suggested.

Just like that, his expression changed quickly, regret clouding his face, "Y/N," he sighed, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to imply that with my actions," he stared at you for a few seconds, then you noticed that light was back in his eyes, the fond smile you liksd seeing is back again, "The ferris wheel is perfect." He then grabbed yoir waist and guided you both to the capsule.

You grinned, "I requested a capsule for only the two of us!" you waved the tickets at him, he chuckled and grabbed it from you to give to the person managing the capsules.

The capsule was air-condition inside, with big windows to get a good view of the outside. You expected nothing from a device created by PAX.

Across from you, Artem sits, his mood is a little better now, but you can't help but notice the silent sadness his cerulean eyes hold still.

You don't like seeing him like this.

"Hey, Artem?" you half-whispered, not wanting to surprise him from his reverie.

His eyes met yours, "Yes?" he responded gently.

"You know you can trust me with your problems, right?" You started, you don't let his surprised expression distract you from what you want to say, "I will listen intently to your troubles, and we'll find a way to solve them together! " You declared with the brightest smile you could ever muster, "So please, share your burdens with me. I'll carry them with you." You finished with a toothy grin.

He blinked a few times before finally shaking his head with fondness, "Thank you, Y/N. I want you to know that you are special to me." His face is suddenly filled with so much endearment you quickly looked away, "Uhh, Of course!" your face flushed red and you raised your hide in an attempt to hide it.

Artem chuckled, the sound giving you a sense of comfort and security. You looked up to him again and saw his features get illuminated by the lights flickering in the theme park, his adoring eyes lingering on you.

Like yours was lingering on him.

You smiled at each other, letting the other feel that they're not alone in the battles they're facing.

What are you to each other, anyway? You pondered when you decided to avert your eyes away from him first.

As far as you can recall, friends don't do this kind of thing with each other. The staring, the blushing. Oh, especially the blushing.

You can't help but long for the possibility of having your feelings reciprocated, but oh boy were you afraid.

"Can I sit beside you?" His question brought you to your senses, and you happily obliged, "Of course! This capsule isn't shaky, we'll be okay being on the same side." You made space for him as you patted the empty space. There he sat, his scent enveloping your senses.

It was silent for the whole ride up, but you were comfortable with it. You were with the person you love, being with them is enough.

7:00pm

Your capsule was right on top when suddenly, a boom was heard and splashes of color was seen through the window.

"Artem!" you pointed at the big, colorful patch of explosion that's a little bit below the capsule you were in.

The ferries wheel was so high that you were higher than the fireworks!

The fireworks was on your side of the window, you can see the view to it's fullest glory.

"Whoa!" you exclaimed, your eyes astonished by the scene before you. Your hands flat against the window, when you suddenly felt a body pressed against your back, and a hot breath against your ear, "It's amazing" you heard Artem mutter, as his breaths fanned the hairs on your neck, before resting his chin on your shoulder.

You yelped, you forgot Artem was just beside you!

Your heart pounded against your ribcage when you realized that in order for Artem to see the fireworks, he needs to look at your side of the window.

Heck, your thighs were touching, and you can feel every ounce of heat that his muscular body radiated. He's practically caging you and this small, suffocating space of a capsule isn't helping!

Despite the unbelievable heat that your whole body is feeling right now, you badly wanted him to wrap his arms around you.

Something was pooling in your stomach, something weird. All you can think about right now is Artem kissing you against the window while you sit on his lap.

Warmth filled your already heated cheeks upon realization of what you just imagined, and you mentally slapped yourself. What were you thinking?

The smell of his vanilla cologne isn't helping!

Nobody has ever made you feel this way before. No other person has affected you like this. You think about the things that this man had done for you, he was selfless, hardworking, and most of all, kind.

Especially the smiles he had always shown you. Those smiles filled with comfort and fondness that makes you weak in the knees. Whenever you see that smile, you find yourself looking forward in seeing it again.

To you, Artem Wing was unobtainable.

Yet you wanted to make him yours.

7:01pm

"Artem!" you pointed below with an enthusiastic grin as the fireworks boomed and splashed the sky above the theme park.

His body scooted over to you without realizing, eyes widening with glee and he muttered, "It's amazing" Artem leaned towards you, placing his chin on your shoulder for him to get better view of the fireworks display below.

It's taking every ounce of his control to not face you towards him and claim your lips then and there.

What you said earlier only fueled his raging feelings for you. You were willing to carry his burdens with him? He never had someone say that to him before, and he was happy it's from you.

The evening is flawless. The two of you were alone, having you near him like this, your decleration of support earlier, and a beautiful scenery before him that he won't get to see everyday...

A perfect evening to pour his heart out to you.

He decided that if there was a best time to confess his love for you, that time would be now. He didn't care about your answer right now, he just wanted to let it all out before this passionate feelings can drive him to insanity.

These feelings were driving him crazy, he wanted to let you know how you make him happy, that he thinks about you eveey second of every day, that you ground him and his lonely heart.

He noticed you were silent and unmoving, so he decided to take the chance. He took a deep breath.

"I'm in l-" "Can I ki-"

You turned your body to face him, surprised. Your face only a few centimeters away from his. One wrong move and you'll kiss.

The both of you blinked.

"You... go first." you said, biting your lip.

He stared deep into your eyes, none of you dared to move from this intimate position, your breaths fanning each other's faces.

"Y/N, I," he rested his forehead against yours and breathed with the most vulnerable voice you've ever heard from him, "I'm in love with you..."

You gaped, but he didn't mind.

He closed his eyes for a few seconds, "It's okay if you don't feel the same. I..." he opened his eyes to give you a loving gaze "I will keep loving you anyway."

He looked so vulnerable right now, but it didn't scare him. If anything, he feels relief in finally voicing out the feelings he's hidden for so long.

"I was in a bad mood today because I think you were interested in William," you just blinked and he continued, "I mean, you always look happy when you're with him. It crushed my heart." He finished as he waited for your response.

He waited, and waited.

The silence that you were giving him didn't give him any clue to what you were thinking, it's unnerving.

After of what seemed like an eternity you finally let out, "He has a girlfriend, silly." you see Artem's eyes widened and you continued, "It's a long story, but I'm not interested in him. We're just friends."

You felt the heat creep up his face.

"So... what were you going to tell me?" He said hesitantly as he gulped, the embarrasment from earlier evident in his voice.

Your cheeks flushed pink as you darted your eyes, it was now your turn to get really embarassed, "Can I..." your face looks conflicted. That if you say whatever you wanted to say, It'd be the death of you.

You took a deep breath, Artem told you his feelings, so it's only fair you tell him yours, you told yourself and mustered the courage to look up to his ocean eyes, a vast ocean so blue, you could drown in them, "Can I kiss you, Artem?"

It took a moment before he could fully process your words. His brain short-circuit.

"What?" He blurted out as he scanned your face for any signs that maybe, you have made a mistake.

but you replied, "I want to kiss you Artem," you put your hands on his shoulder to steady yourself, "I'm in love with you too."

His body tingled with so much joy, you being in love with him was just a distant dream before.

Not willing to wait anymore, he licked his lips as he slowly dipped his head to meet your already parted mouth, welcoming him.

You may or may not have kissed the entire way down the ride.

Artem Wing is a dedicated man.

Now, he's willing to dedicate himself to you for the rest of his life.

HMMM what are my thoughts on it? Well, let’s split it in two: Deku’s side and Todoroki’s side, because that’s how it’s split in my brain atm, and allow me to start from the second because it’s easier to get through for me

I’m in love with everything Hori is doing with Todoroki and everyone involved with him - that’s to say his whole whole family and Hawks and Jeanist too, all of it, I’m so into it it’s no joke at all. Always been in love with how he handles Enji’s character and his interactions with his family and the latest developments didn’t disappoint me at all, wasn’t very much into Dabi right after the “reveal” but the more I think about it and about the story from his pov the more behind it I am, forever and always head over heels for Shouto’s way of dealing with a situation that’s as complex as one would expect from a protagonist of their very own story you could really make a manga out of the Todoroki’s family plot from Shouto’s pov alone, it’s incredible I can’t state how in love with it all I am enough. And Hawks, don’t make me start on him I’ll straight up never stop, absolutely and most definitely my favorite pro-hero I would trust him with my money and my kids 100/10 just assume I’m constantly crying over him. Also Jeanist is just hilarious so bless him and his presence in an otherwise too heavy story

Deku’s side........ well, the main problems I have with it are that one, I don’t really understant the need to keep ofa a secret from the class for the biggest part of the story when the reveal wasn’t forced upon Deku, didn’t have a huge impact on him or his relationship with the others (his leaving wasn’t directly caused by him coming clean after all, he wouldn’t have had to leave earlier had he not kept it a secret and he would have still left at this point had the class already known all along) and didn’t, like. Matter. All that much. Two, this manga is called my hero academia and I’m genuinely starting to wonder why. What was the point of all the arcs set inside the school anyway? Most of the characters growth (Deku’s especially) and the progression of the main plot happened in the arcs outside of the school anyway, and at this point it’s clear we’re not going back to the school after this or even seeing anyone graduate. What of Shinsou? What was the point of his plot when we’re not even gonna see him being active part of the class in a school environment? I’m just confused about it all, I guess. Three, which is really my biggest problem with it all, is the way Deku’s set on saving Shigaraki. It’s not like I don’t like a story in which all the villains are saved and the good guys win and love prevails and all that, call it corny but they’re exactly my type of stories, but I’m not sure I can get behind it when Twice died like that, and Midnight did as well, and Aizawa lost a leg, and Nighteye died, and Hawks might have lost his wings, and Shirakumo ended up Kurogiri and it’s still unclear whether he can be saved, like... why does Shigaraki get to be saved when so many people suffered like that? And it’s not only about them suffering by his hands, it’s about Hori and how he was ruthless with so many characters but lets the story show arbitrary kindness to Shigaraki alone, it’s all... well. Unfair. The way I see it. At this point I at the very least expect kindness for Touya as well, here.

That said if I pick the chapters one by one by themselves I do enjoy them very much. I just don’t gotta think about the big picture lmao AH but it’s all a personal opinion, of course! I know people who enjoy the way the story is going and I can see where they’re coming from, this is all arbitrary tastes and preferences on my part, I’m aware of it!

THANK YOU happy to hear you liked jjk!!!! And that’s!!! a great question, I’m not sure I have an answer actually? I binged the manga in a day and a half, you see, and when I binge stuff that fast I rarely stop to overthink things - I did ship them as I read too since, well. They’re in love lmao but I shipped them in the same way I shipped itafushi or yuutoge after I read the prequel, you know? Just a general aknowledging of how good they were together. The main point with satosugu specifically was probably that satoru has been my favorite character since the beginning of the story and suguru got there as well as soon as I read their backstory, so once I was caught up they’re the ones I ended up spending the most time thinking about, both by themselves and together, and that ended up making me a bit obsessed..... just a bit lol

If I had to give one specific moment that got me by the heart and squeezed the hardest it’d be... probably Satoru’s “my soul knows otherwise”. And the way his voice alone could bring Suguru back, even for just a single moment. The thing about satosugu for me!!! one of the many things about them, but the main thing for me, is that they love each other. Be it platonic or however you wanna see it, they love each other. Despite everything and after it all, even if Satoru had to kill Suguru, even if Suguru killed so many and betrayed Satoru and they went their separate ways in the harshest of ways, they love each other. It’s insane, isn’t it? That they’d love each other so much they could pass over everything and anything. I’ve seen the “best friends become enemies” trope so often in shounen manga, but this is the first time I see it treated like this - with love so strong that they never blamed each other or turned that love in hate. The way satosugu do it is all-encompassing! It goes beyond the world and their differences and death itself! So if I had to pick it’d be that one, because that scene happens after it’s all over, and it all went to shit and way beyond too already, and still their souls resonate with each other and answer to each other and that sends me insane, just thinking about it. Like, god, they really still love each other. Satoru’s mourned for Suguru for a year, Suguru’s been dead for a year, they’d been separated ten whole years before then, and still! And still!!! It’s so tender I don’t know how to deal with it

The chlorine from the school’s pool overwhelms your senses, triggering you to sneeze a couple times into the crook of your arm. “Bless you!”

Lifting your head to meet your gaze with the owner of the words, you see Jungkook standing before you, swimming cap in one hand and a towel in the other, tousling his hair dry. He doesn’t have a shirt on, just his bathing trunks that hang loosely on his hips, and you swear that if he wasn’t preoccupied, he would’ve seen the drool coming from the corner of your mouth.

“Uh, thanks.”

“You came.” He grins, plopping his wet body onto the bench beside you as you grimace at the water from his trunks splattering at you. “I kind of thought I scared you away earlier.”

“I don’t know what you mean,” You say, feigning ignorance. “You told me the other day you wanted me to come by after practice and here I am.”

“You know what I’m talking about. That ‘crush’ conversation.”

You roll your eyes at him, pushing him away playfully. “I thought I told you it was Yura with the crush.” Jungkook shakes his head in dismissal, clicking his tongue in unison. “I’ve known you your entire life. You’re telling me that I can’t tell when you’re lying?”

“No, but—” He’s leaning close, his soaked fringe dripping onto your skin, goosebumps forming on your arms. “What?”

“Just trying to get a better read on you.” The proximity between you and Jungkook is small, so small that you don’t realize you’ve been holding your breath the entire time until he backs away and you let out a deep exhale. “W-What for?” You manage to respond.

“What do you think about us... doing it again?”

He’s not looking at you this time, hands running through his drenched locks, eyes never leaving the concrete ground. The question startles you. For one, Jungkook was being shy. He never seemed to hide things from you before but that assumption was proven wrong when you saw the girl he brought him the other day. Jungkook didn’t even hesitate to call you up when he just took the biggest shit or even when he picked the longest booger. Why was he suddenly acting bashful?

“... again?” You reiterate, hands clutching onto the bench. “You want to do what again?”

“Uh... sleep together.”

“Jeon, we always sleep together. I don’t understand why you’re being weird—“

“No,” he sighs frustratedly at himself, knowing his question was unclear while slouching over in his seat. “When I say sleep together, I meant have sex again. I feel like I fucked up our first time together and I want to make up for it.”

Oh. Was that all? After the incident, you’d been as emotionally intelligent as you could, pushing to the back of your mind the fact that you’re so in love with Jeon Jungkook and you’ve both had his first kiss and virginity— for him, likewise. How yes, these things were far from perfect but to you, it was perfect because it was with him. That’s all that mattered.

“You don’t need to make up for anything. It was good! You took care of me and made sure I was okay. Apparently, it hurts like hell but you made it bearable.”

“I... really want to try again. What if we try teaching each other so that when the time comes and we meet someone, we’re ready?”

By the time we meet someone. The words burned in your heart, hissing as the pain clenched your chest. You knew that you didn’t want to meet ‘someone,’ you just wanted Jungkook. Just then, the girl comes to mind.

“Is it about that girl?” Jungkook’s head shoots in your direction, brows crinkled in confusion. “What girl?”

You’re chewing your bottom lip anxiously, waving your hanging legs above the ground. “I saw you bring a girl home the other day. Is it about her?”

Jungkook’s expression doesn’t change for a moment before an ‘ah’ escapes his mouth with the memory. “You mean Dahyun? I’m tutoring her in my free time. I needed some money. What? Are you jealous?” His lips tug in a mischievous smile; he’s genuinely enjoying the way your face contorts into realization, his heart warm at the idea of you wary of someone else capturing his attention.

“No.” You quickly mutter under your breath, a bit annoyed with yourself for letting your emotions get to you so quickly. This was Jungkook you were talking about here— the one guy who could pretty much land a date with any girl at your school, yet he’s over here playing games with you instead. It’s no surprise that he’s teasing you again but you’re wishing he was serious.

“How many times do I have to tell you that you’re the only girl in my life?”

You shove him off the bench, rolling your eyes. “Why did you want me here again?” He’s on the floor, a hearty laugh roaring from his chest. He’s effortlessly handsome like this and it’s no wonder that you’ve fallen for him.

“I think you should reconsider my question and let me know when you’re ready. But besides that,” Jungkook is getting off of the solid ground, rubbing his bottom in the process. “I want you to come to my swim meet this Friday. You’re my good luck charm and I can’t win without you.”

“Why do I feel like those one of girls who are hopelessly in love with him?” You grumble into your arms, rubbing your hands into your face dishearteningly. “I feel so stupid, falling for his charms and everything. You know what he said to me again today?”

Yura’s in the process of shoving the cheesy goodness of tteokbokki into her mouth, sauce spilling out on the sides of her lips. She always had the biggest appetite and ate messily but it never stopped the queue of men standing outside her locker trying to shove in love letters on Valentine’s Day. Yura was a pure beauty— you always found yourself curious how the two of you became friends because you thought you weren’t as special, just average. But nonetheless, Yura had never failed to be there for you, through thick and thin, and your love for her in this friendship was almost the equivalent to what you felt for Jungkook. Except you were in love with Jungkook.

“Wha de he say?” She doesn’t even wait to finish swallowing her food, she just speaks through it, spitting some of the hot sauce onto your side of the table as you scowl in disgust.

“Jesus, Yura, chew and swallow first.”

“Sorry,” She smiles cheekily after emptying her mouth. “What did he say?”

“How many times do I have to tell you that you’re the only girl for me? I want you to come to my swim meet this Friday. You’re my good luck charm and I can’t win without you.”

Both of Yura’s brows raise up. “Oh wow, he’s definitely smitten with you. So, when are you gonna tell him that you’re ‘hopelessly in love’ with him?”

You sigh. “I can’t. I’ll ruin our friendship.”

“You’re doing this ass backwards,” She says, shaking her head as she picks out a fish cake from the bowl. “You guys fucked and yet you think that confessing your feelings will ruin your friendship?”

Shrugging your shoulders, you exhale another deep breath of sadness. “I’m just happy with where we are. I like being the special one in his life. What if I tell him and he doesn’t reciprocate feelings?”

“Worry about it then.” She responds casually, stuffing another spoonful into her mouth. “I don’t understand why people get so scared of telling someone how they feel. You never know your opportunity until you try it. Plus, it’s Jungkook. You really think he’s going to just drop you after all these years?”

Maybe Yura was right. Well— there was no way in hell you’d let her know that because her ego would swell up and get the best of her, but she made a valid point. Jungkook doesn’t know that you like him, right? So what if he did feel something for you?

“Think about it. Has he ever had a girlfriend?”

Silent, you’re almost skimming your mental memory of any recollection of Jungkook having a relationship. “Honestly, no.”

“And he tells you everything.”

“Correct.” You answer again.

“Don’t you feel like he’s waiting for something? Or someone in particular? You even mentioned it before, he happens to have the entire women population of this school crawling at his feet and all he does is act dumb.”

A floral square neck short sleeve crop top and blue jeans were what you decided to leave the house with for Jungkook’s swim competition but you don’t feel like yourself underneath this fabric. In actuality, you would never find yourself walking out the house in something so... fitted, opting for something more comfortable and breathable, but you knew today wasn’t a day for that. You’d gather enough courage to finally tell Jungkook that you didn’t want to be just friends anymore, you were ready to take it to the next level.

Sitting down on the bleachers of the humid arena, the stench of chlorine attacks your sense of smell again. You could never understand what it felt like to be Jungkook— he lived for the aroma of the water entering in his nostrils, the feeling of water touching his skin for hours, having so much control whenever he was in the pool. Whenever he was stressed, angry or sad, the first place you’d look for him would be here. Mediations were for some people, but swimming was for Jungkook.

He’s walking toward you, a beautiful grin spreading from ear to ear, wearing what seems to be insufferable competitive swim trunks that hug the lower half his body so tightly it could be a second layer of skin. He hasn’t worn his cap yet, but he’s holding it in his hand with his goggles, arms opened wide for you to come into his embrace.

“I’m seriously so happy you’re here. And look at you! All dressed up. Is this for me?” You scoff yet you’re already in his arms, face snuggled into his bare chest. He smelled like the water but when it’s coming from him, the scent is intoxicating. “Why would you even expect me not to come? I’m always rooting for you and your dreams, you idiot.”

For a brief moment, you’re standing on the sidelines with his arms wrapped around your frame and his chin resting on your head. Being with Jungkook was different, he made you feel a way that none of the guys that came into your life have made you feel.

Summers ago, you met this handsome boy, Taehyung. He was a few years older than both you and Jungkook and a member of the same swim team as Jungkook. Taehyung was the love that you knew realistically would never like you back. He was close to graduation, prepping for the recruiters who would attend their swim competitions to see potential candidates for colleges. Girls were flaunting themselves on him just as much as Jungkook and just as similar to him, his aspirations were a priority. Those girls were put in the back burner. He’d make your heart swell in your chest, constantly bringing you snacks and checking in on you occasionally as you study on the sidelines by the pool, waiting for your best friend to finish practice. You recall telling Jungkook about your childish crush on the guy you barely knew and him responding with, “You just think he’s cute. I don’t think you really like him,” or “He’s just being nice! He’s nice to everyone. Don’t fall for his charms so quickly.”

All of your feelings for Taehyung disappeared the day he graduated, saying his goodbyes to both you and Jungkook while in his blue gown, newly dyed platinum locks disheveled underneath his cap. He ruffles Jungkook’s hair, eyes gleaming toward the younger male before saying, “Take care of yourself, will ya? And take care of the little one too. Don’t let her fall between the cracks.” With that, he left with a scholarship to swim for the college team abroad in the United States, and you haven’t heard from him since.

The whistle blows, signaling the swimmers to get in their positions, and Jungkook lets go of you and you’re suddenly feeling empty. But the look he gifts you is loving, the reflection of the sunlight hitting the pool touches his face before he’s putting on his swim cap and goggles.

Jungkook is standing on the platform, side by side with other competitors from local high schools. Although you’ve come to almost all his practices and attended every single swim meet, you couldn’t exactly grasp onto any of the rules or the jargon but Jungkook never held that against you. He just wanted you there as his personal cheerleader, standing in the bleachers, watching him perform the greatest act as each time he does this is better than the last.

The referee blows a short series of whistles, initiating the start of the race and Jungkook dives into the water in mere milliseconds amongst the rest of the swimmers. He’s fast—incredibly fast that you’re afraid to blink because you might miss something important.

Jungkook was placed in the freestyle 100m event; his coach evidently complimented him constantly for his ability to adapt to the time and switch the types of strokes he needed to use in order to beat anyone neck and neck with him.

Today was no exception. Jungkook hit his first lap in third place; a technique he learned was to never overexert your strengths in the beginning because in the last portion of the race was where you want to push yourself to the fullest. The amount of videos he made you sit through the entirety of throughout your life was countless. He would plop himself in front of the television or computer for hours, observing the olympic and professional swimmers tactics because his parents couldn’t afford a private teacher for him. It wasn’t until high school that he had a real coach, someone who could dedicate their time in training and shaping Jungkook into the athlete he wanted to be. Before that, he would come to school’s indoor pool almost daily to just swim laps and test out what he watched on the internet.

His second lap was closing to its end and like every other swim meet, your stomach was doing flips. There was so much faith in Jungkook, from you, his parents, his team, but you weren’t sure how he felt about himself. He never failed to impress everyone, swooning the hearts of both males and females during these events however never once has he expressed his anxiety before a competition. He just did it because he loved it. Swimming was Jungkook’s passion.

The male next to him is close, they’re strokes away from each other to the point you can’t even tell who’s in the lead. It ends so quickly that the referee blows into his whistle before you realize as Jungkook ascends from the water, snapping off his cap and goggles as he eyes the man in the white and black striped shirt before glancing over at his opponent.

The referee grabs Jungkook’s wrist with another scream of the whistle, and excitedly, Jungkook smacks the water. He won.

Towel hanging around his neck, his eyes sparkle at the sight of you approaching after his team congratulates him eagerly on his win. If you knew better, the sight of you was his own personal win.

“Congrats, Jeon.” You say, playfully pulling on his drenched locks. “I knew you’d win. You always win.”

“I always win because you’re here.” There he goes again, tugging on your heartstrings so carelessly. “Come join us for dinner after this.”

“Only if you dedicate some alone time with me for dessert.” You have no idea what being possess you because you’re abruptly so bold. “I want to talk to you about something.”

“Oh?” He tilts his head questioningly. “Now you’re just tempting me to cancel dinner and go right to dessert. What do you want to talk about?”

“Just... stuff,” You say, pursing your lips. Before Jungkook can even say anything, another teammate comes up to him, slapping him on his buttock with a bright smile. “Look at little Kook, I’m not even surprised he even won.”

“I told you, I got myself a personal cheerleader. You should get one too.” Jungkook says, grasping onto your arm. “It’s a real energy booster when they’re cute too.”

“Oooo, maybe I can borrow your cheerleader!” His teammate teases but Jungkook clicks his tongue threateningly. “Get your own, this one is mine.” His teammate laughs before shaking his head and walking away to the rest of the group.

“I’m still curious what you’re going to say to me.” He says, turning back to direct his attention onto you. “You think you can skip waiting ‘til dessert and tell me now?”

“No.”

“Oh, come on!” He whines and despite his height, he still can throw a tantrum like a child. “I really want to—“

“Oppa?”

The two of you divert your fixation onto the owner of the soft voice; blinking blankly, your eyes browse over the girl. You assume it’s Dahyun because her hair is down like the other day and her petite body seems familiar and you’re proven right when Jungkook calls out her name.

“What are you doing here? Don’t you have a math test tomorrow that you need to study for?”

She has a pink gift bag in her hand, butterfly and heart stickers decorated all over. The bag looks heavy with how the handles stretch to the fullest extent. You’re chewing your bottom lip now; Dahyun was going to confess and you’re unsure if Jungkook can tell.

“Can we talk in private for a moment, Oppa? I have to tell you something.”

“You can tell me here.” He gestures your presence with a grin on his face. “I don’t have anything to hide from her, she doesn’t judge so tell me what you have to say freely. And if she does judge...” Jungkook’s gaze shifts to you as he squints his eyes. “I’ll just beat her up.”

“Oppa, I think I like you. Will you go out with me?”

The unsolicited AlexReggie ship manifesto

DISCLAIMER: This is obviously meant as a rant post about a ship I can enjoy in fandom spaces and not an actual request from me to make AlexReggie canon in the show or any of the sorts. I am quite happy and excited about the actual canon LGBT+ ship of this show, which is Willie x Alex. Do not get that twisted.

That being said, let me talk to you about the amazing, entertaining dynamic Alex and Reggie have that makes them super easy and fun to ship them:

I wanna start off by saying that I’m mostly writing this because I feel like they are either unfairly underlooked or just grossly misread; and I’m more upset about the latter. (Someone on this hellsite actually had the nerve to say Alex doesn’t take Reggie seriously so. I just had to get this off my chest)

So what’s this amazing, entertaining dynamic you speak of?

Alex and Reggie are best friends. That much is clear from the very first minutes of the show. It’s not Alex is Luke’s friend who’s friends with Reggie or the other way around. They’re all best friends.

In fact, Alex and Reggie’s very first interaction is just about the sweatest we get to see them. Their first interaction:

Reggie goes over to Alex to compliment him specifically on how he played at the rehearsal which leads us to a lot of grey areas of headcanoning (was Alex the last to join and so he was shy or nervous around the others? Maybe Reggie just likes to compliment him for some reason, or my personal favorite: Reggie knew Alex was anxious about playing the Orpheum so he thought Alex needed reassurance of his awesomeness? ), but the matter is: Reggie thinks Alex is awesome.

However, them being sweet best friends is not their entire dynamic (and thank God), no. Alex and Reggie are the quippy best friends, they’re the Vitriolic Best Buds (type one– with Reggie being more on the ‘unaware of the vitriol’ side):

“A very good measure of how good your friends are is how much you can insult them without them taking offense.”— Heliomance

When two people who are the very best of friends behave like the very worst of enemies.

Alex pokes fun at Reggie saying “he can see you” when Carlos asks if the ghost is “hiddeous”. Reggie makes fun of Alex for crying and being “a very emotional person” (even when Alex isn’t even there).

But at the end of the day, and this is where I wanna emphasize: they’re the ones to show care first and immidiately for each other.

It’s stated that their friendship runs deep between all three of them (Luke, Alex and Reggie), but I’m not gonna write the manifesto for the OT3 yet so bear with me:

In episode 1x02: when Alex complains about them not giving him a hug when he was crying in the “void”, Reggie goes to hug him without hesitation – for Alex to turn him down because, again, that’s their primary dynamic.

Same episode, a few minutes later: Reggie gets overwhelmed about Ray crying and asks to see his parents and Alex turns to him and sotfly goes “Yeah”

In episode 1x07: when Alex is upset about Willie and Reggie gives him a reassuring comment about how there’ll be others which Alex takes greatfully and openly.

Episode 1x09: after Alex has said goodbye to Willie and Reggie goes over his shoulder to ask him if he’s alright

Same episode, a few minutes later: when Reggie voices his concerns about what will happen to them if they cross over and Alex turns to him, again, his voice softer than it usually is when he speaks to Reggie, and tells him that “It’s not like we have a choice”, to ease him up a bit.

What I mean to say with this is: Luke is, as I can read in the context of what we’ve seen in the first season, the least emotionally intelligent out of the three of them and so since Luke lacks in that department–> it means Alex and Reggie have each other.

Again, they’re like – really best friends when you truly look. Mostly because Luke suffers from his trope of the front-man and main male protagonist, so he’s capable of going on his own or with Julie to explore other bonds while Alex and Reggie have less and lesser and a lot of that is spent with each other.

Alex tells Reggie about Willie, Reggie pays attention and actually cares about the stuff he’s learning both from Alex as an extension of Willie and then about what he can get from the rest of the world. Alex and Reggie – most of the time during the season – are on the same page about stuff and together, while Luke is off doing his own things, mostly with Julie as she is the protagonist.

Granted, Alex main focused relationship is with Willie (and I’m super greatful for that), but after Willie, and this is where I take no criticsm, it’s Reggie who comes on the list. Not Luke, not Julie or Carrie– Alex immidiate secondary focused-dynamic as of Season 1 is Reggie (if only slightly tied with the boys as a trio itself, obviously).

Then there’s the aspect of them individually and how they contrast each other. Alex is obviously the smarter of the three and Reggie falls further on the scale, all the way to the side. That makes them a little the Smart Jerk, Nice Moron trope except Alex isn’t that much of a jerk all the time. However, it works, because not only it makes up for great comedic bits (literally all of their scenes together omg) but also because you can’t have one without the other or it’d be awfully unbalanced.

The “rhythm section” duo

Yes, I even wanna talk about the symbolism of their instruments too and how they’re linked through that. Drums and bass are not only essential to any band but they’re also very important and rely on each other. I’m no music expert at all, but even I know one usually follows after the other to keep the pace of the rhythm.

This article has some many interesting takes on the relationship between the drummer and the bassist:

“A drummer’s comprehension of the role of bass guitar is often far greater than most guitarists.”

“Everyone in the band is of course on the team, but the bond between the bassist and drummer is something so deep that it usually takes a long time to develop.”

“Bassists and drummers are the rhythm section together, meaning one instrument consisting of two parts.”

“Simply put, the bassist and drummer really are the rhythm section. It’s not the guitarist and certainly not the damn keyboard player. That can be an unclear distinction at times, but I feel strongly about it. Bass and drums should be an inseparable pair, sonically speaking,” he continues. “That’s not to say that all kick patterns should be followed to the tee, but there should be an obvious and palpable awareness of what each other is doing. There are too many nuances to list that can go with or against that grain. In short, bass and drums should always be intertwined like hot, sweaty lovers having the rawest, musical sex.” — Miles McPherson

I find the whole ✨semiotic✨ of this very poetic on its own, but it’s also an OT3 thing I’ll get on later, I think.

Ultimately, Owen and Jeremy make it work, too. Duh. Their chemestry on screen really gives you the vibe that despite all the times Alex looks at Reggie like he’s fed up and wants to die all over again ("I wish I couldn’t see you”), Alex still finds him endearing and just…he loves the guy. And obviously Reggie – the heart of the boys trio– just loves him right back:

I just think they’re cute and funny and even when I’m not shipping them, I’m still appreciating them from a mlm solidarity pov (bc Reggie is definitely bi) and whoever said that Alex doesn’t take Reggie seriously or ever tries to even imply Alex wouldn’t set the whole world on fire to keep Reggie warm is just not watching the same goddamn show.

I watched 38 with subs. Here are my thoughts:

5 Things I Liked:

Our babies were back! Chemistry, cuteness, touches, characterization--this felt like our episode 12/13 Edser with a mix of 26-28 Edser for good measure.

Our ensemble cast was back. They were funny, supportive, and their group scenes were genuinely funny. This cast is at its best when they are allowed to shine together.

We have a new character that I don't hate and may not actually be evil or trying to hook up with Serkan.

Selin is gone (thank you god) and Deniz may be gone?

5 Things I Didn't Like:

Our babies were--weird. Look, they were cute and precious as they ever have bee. But this Edser felt like pre 28 Edser. pre 27 Edser. Hell, it felt like pre 17 Edser. Because they were engaged. Eda had moved in, they were hours away from marriage and then Serkan died. He died and he didn't come back for months. And she was forced to watch as a shell of the man she loved was abandoned, manipulated and abused bc she lost all of her agency and power. And then, finally, they get each other back and their response is to--I'm not sure? Get tattoo wedding rings that mean--we don't know what? Have an adorable dance in the rain that leads to--Eda having a sleep over bc I don't think they are living together but it's unclear? Eda focusing on work while Serkan has a meltdown bc he thinks he's dying...and doesn't want to tell her? Serkan Bolat finds out he has a tumor and he isn't calling the best doctors in the world to make sure he can have the rest of his life with Eda? Eda Yildiz finally gets back the love of her life and she isn't clinging to him and never letting go? Are we even going to discuss the rejected marriage proposal? Are we talking about the fact that they both spent months in hell and lost each other and themselves in the process and were abandoned by the people who were supposed to care for them most? Are we forgetting that they were literally hours away from spending the rest of their lives together and now they are...I don't know? Are we just accepting cute Edser and forgetting that SCK ever had plot and meaning?

Our ensemble cast was back. Just like that. Weeks of everyone except for Ferit and Melo just being completely okay with both Serkan and Eda completely sabotaging both of their lives (and in some cases actively helping them down ruinous paths) and it's just like...well, they are back and cute and Piril liked Eda's tattoo so I guess it's all okay again.

We have a new character, and I don't know what his purpose is. He seems sweet and harmless, but also Aydan had a direct hand in ruining not only her child's life, but also the life of the woman he entrusted to her to keep safe for him. I don't care about her happiness.

We were tortured by Selin for over 8 weeks, and it amounted to "sorry I claimed to have abused you while you were mentally compromised and convinced you that you were gonna be a father and almost ruined your life, peace out" which, considering how far they had her go, is about the weakest possible exit for a villain ever. I understand that perhaps they wanted to go easy on Bige, considering what she is dealing with in her personal life, but there is a way to give Selin the exit she deserves and also go easy on the actress. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad to see her go, but this isn't a case of "oh, an ex girlfriend is leaving", Selin actively worked to ruin the lives of two people over and over again, she took advantage of a person who was recovering from trauma, and her send off had the same fanfare as any one of the countless villains who went nowhere and achieved nothing.

Eda also wore jeans, and the level of hideousness in terms of pants and shoes that we have reached with her at this point is truly unmatched.

I think for me, the key to going forward is to turn off my brain. The facts are, SCK has been on a downhill trend since arguably episode 13, and definitely since 21. There have been magical moments and episodes I wouldn't trade since then (notably 17, 20, 26-27 and most of 28, parts of 16&18) but as a whole...it lost its direction and focus and characters somewhere along the way. It was easier to pretend that plot didn't matter back when the worst thing that had happened was Serkan lying about how Eda's parents died. But with months of pain and torture and manipulation and loss and it's hard to just pretend. But I suppose if I'm going to enjoy SCK going forward, and by that I mean Edser, I am going to have stop thinking about plot, character motivation, connectivity. Maybe a second season will revive the SCK we loved, and we won't just have to hope for a series of loosely connected Edser scenes with no real meaning. 38 is only 2.0's second real episode since they left the first time, and they were left with a hell of a mess. Granted, some of it was a mess they started, but I'm convinced they had no intention of the amnesia plot playing out the way it did. So maybe with a break and some time, we will get back to a show that has purpose and meaning. Maybe next week, with Edser finally running away the way they should have three episodes ago, we will finally get meaningful conversations about their future AND their past. But for now, I guess I'm glad that at least I can watch the show again without hating our mains and wanting to throw things at the screen, so I'll take what I can get. And vow to never watch another Turkish romcom again 🤣

meeting one of the directors of bolt sounds amazing! glad you got to do that. definitely makes up for the first disappointing movie.

i can enjoy a villain redemption story, but instead we are getting movies that excuse a villain's bad behavior with a tragic backstory. please just let the villains make mistakes and redeem them afterwards, or give us the full villain story we deserve. it's fine if the main character isn't a good person. as long as the movie is enjoyable. it can be very fun to watch the villain doing dastardly things.

that's totally valid! for me a dream job is just something i would enjoy doing with the perk of getting paid for it. since most of my current hobbies do not pay at all haha. but yeah definitely put your own happiness over making money. jobs can take the fun out of things you enjoy because of the stress of deadlines and trying to meet certain standards.

i'm glad you got to watch so many shows and movies. i did a lot of that too and it was really nice. i miss having that kind of free time, tho do not miss the stress of being scared to go out.

it's great that you found a job you like. definitely a fun place to work too! my dream job is really just making money from my hobbies and being able to collaborate with other people more often.

i should have stuck to one question haha. thankfully i saw your answer to the second one in the tag. the daughter of dr. calico sounds really cool! i'm glad to hear you've put a lot of thought into this already. personally i think it would be fun to be alice in wonderland's kid. i can just imagine creative pursuits being encouraged and i am very curious by nature.

christmas is just around the corner. are you an ugly christmas sweater fan? and if so, what is your favorite one you own or one you would want to buy? ⛄

yah thats a really good point! im not really used to seeing movies where the character isnt a good person, but i guess the bigger problem is when its unclear if youre supposed to side with them or not, yknow? like i binged bojack horseman in the fall and they make it abundantly clear that hes not a good person and if you relate to him you should get help lol.

yah i totally feel the same way. if my hobbies do pay, its minimal, but if i wanna keep doing them in a self-run way without pressure from outside sources, i have to keep them hobbies and do what i said im doing and keep a job that i enjoy enough that pays the bills, which thankfully i have! i wouldnt mind some sort of editing job since ive been editing videos since i was 11 and did some for the faculty at my high school, but the application and searching process is too daunting and i dont want it THAT bad lol. but like if it were offered to me and it made sense for me at the time, id probably like it.

oh yah 100% same. i would never have wished for that to happen to the world but im glad i was able to make the most of it given the circumstances.

hi mimi, i’ve been reading mutual help since chapter 10 or so and i’ve been hooked ever since. looking at what everyone has been saying about the most recent chapter is interesting considering a lot of what is being said is out of anger or just hatred for the way it played out. i truly find it amazing that you could cause such an uproar. You don’t deserve any hate that you’re receiving and i hope that it isn’t giving you a hard time!

Thinking about this most recent chapter and y/n’s behavior, i know a lot of people have been saying things about being upset with kiko and jk and that y/n is being a good friend and she can act as she wants but i sorta feel that a lot of what y/n is doing and thinking could come from a different place beside being protective and annoyed. yea they’re bestfriends and will always have each other and i know that jk always makes sure that y/n knows they can always spend time together, but i feel like feelings from the first time jk and kiko dated and how she felt kinda abandoned and then finding out she cheated combined together form this sort of defensiveness that y/n uses(idk how to explain this but i’m trying, sorry if it’s unclear!). i don’t think that y/n should be so hostile towards kiko but i feel like her feelings are rooted in something she doesn’t necessarily want to talk about or think about or something that we just don’t know yet. this chapter when jk reassured y/n again made me feel uneasy for no reason(and then the ending happened and i was like ah ok). there was a moment when i was reading and thought “is he doing this for her or for himself?” i can see that jk is in love and maybe y/n sees that and is scared of what his love for kiko could cause him to do. im scared that they’ll get to a point where talking won’t be enough or where they can’t see past their emotions to listen and really hear each other. ofc jk never wants to have to choose, and the idea of that happening in this story somewhat frightens me ngl. i feel like y/n feels more then she’s letting herself admit. also i kinda wanna know what goes on in kiko’s mind. like all we know is the things from y/ns POV but i wanna hear more from kiko. when kiko and y/n had her encounter i feel like that was the first time after everyone found what happened that we heard what she was thinking. i wanna like hear it from her versus hearing it from jk or like from overhearing it (if that makes sense). a lot of people dislike her soley bc she cheated and yea cheating is a terrible thing to do but there’s more to that then we know i feel. there’s just so much we don’t know and maybe we won’t find out for a while but it would be interesting just hear from kiko bc i’d like to know her thoughts a bit(maybe her friends too). i wanted to say as well that i love hanuel and maya’s characters so much and it would be really cool to see a sort of friendship blossom between y/n and maya or maybe just y/n and any female character jus to have one friend who isn’t male lol. but i love all the side characters so much they add something special to the story and i love it. with the likely y/n and jk convo i also wonder if we’ll get a hanuel and jimin or tae heart to heart. i think it would be cute to see him having a genuine conversation like that with one of them. i really love his character and i hope we get to see him and y/n happy for a little bit. also i was a bit confused as to what day it was for them is it still day 1 of the trip or... i just couldn’t remember but i think it’s day 1. i’m very excited for the next few chapters and how the rest of this trip for gang is gonna look!! oh wow i wrote a lot, sorry if this was a lot or if any of this was me overstepping i just had a lot of thoughts after reading. 💜
