i’m afraid of diving into good omens tumblr discourse but i just–i have to say
Aziraphale’s face. it’s. that is the expression of someone who does not want to be kissed, but knows it’s inevitable. though even more subtle than that, it’s the face of someone who does not want the thing to happen not because they don’t want it, but because they do, they really do, and yet it is not the way they wish it would be. Aziraphale knows something here. and he isn’t telling Crowley, nor us. he’s got some kind of higher pressure weighing down on him, forcing him to act against his nature and heart, forcing him to act against Crowley. he backs Crowley into a corner with his talk of joining Metatron in Heaven, and knows it. and that is what he wants, because that’s where he needs Crowley to be–away from him; but he pushes too strong, pushes Crowley to risk it all and end up cornering Aziraphale right back. all Aziraphale wanted, all he needed to do, was protect Crowley by breaking his heart and abandoning him, but you can’t undo 6,000 years of companionship without a miracle. it’s a failure.
whatever the Metatron told or did to Aziraphale that was hidden from us, it terrified him enough to make up a wobbly plan that could keep Crowley safe, if he would just go along with it. Aziraphale may have been strong enough, may have loved Crowley that much, to put his heart on the line and sacrifice himself if it meant Crowley could live on, but he underestimated Crowley’s love for him. underestimated Crowley’s courage and capacity for honesty.
the angel lied and the demon spoke his truth and everything crashed and failed.
and it is painful failure and remorse that i see on Aziraphale’s face.
it’s Please don’t ruin my attempt at saving you and Can’t you see what I’m trying to do and I’m sorry I’m breaking your heart but I have to if I want to keep you and To choose you I have to choose Heaven but I know you’re not seeing it that way and Crowley look at me I’m lying just go along and
Oh no, you believed me entirely too much, what have I done?
with the kiss, Crowley seals his fate as undeniably tied to Aziraphale’s. and Metatron will know.

surely this has been talked about before but if they remake the first three seasons and put them on the newer LITG app, do you think they'll give each season a name (like double trouble, ex in the villa, tempting fate...)
and if so what names?
i don't wanna submit an ask to any specific litg blogs I'm just curious what everyone thinks
personally, my take rn at 1 am:
S1 = Inferno
S2 = Purgatorio
S3 = Paradiso

It’s such a tiny detail but I love it!!! When Jack (the raccoon pirate) is encouraging Knuckles to leave everyone behind for the prism again, he wrinkles his nose as he looks at Black Rose and the rest of the gang!

if i had more time on my hands i’d do a study on the phenomenon of wardrobe shifts for main characters (especially lead females) between their first seasons and the end

Random Good Omens HC that will def be disproved in s3:
So y’all know that theory that “Crowley can’t see stars bc of his eyes- that was his punishment for falling” well what if his eyes were the reason he fell. What if Crowley was the Almighty’s favourite and, because of Their bias They tried to save him from falling whilst still punishing him? Like if on the trial day- whatever they did idk I’m imagining a trial occurred even if everyone was declared guilty and cast out- the Almighty was like “For your crime of asking questions, I’ll take away your ability to see what you have created” and gave him the eyes of a snake. However, this was the last straw, for how could They be so cruel to punish someone for asking questions? And Crowley realised that Heaven was not what it pretended to be because HOW could they justify the punishment for his crimes or maybe he just couldn’t live with the shame of having snake eyes (I like the former more) and so he chose to fall instead of remain an angel and live with the loss of his beloved stars.
But yeah I just needed to get that out of my head because as much as I like this idea it’s a) prob not gonna happen and b) just yeah.

Such a shame The Witcher (netflix) didn't elaborate on the sandpiper thing At All. I get that Jaskier is a side character, and one that more or less fills the role of comic relief - I wasn't expecting him to have a fleshed out meaningful character arc. But he does, and it's never explored.
The immature idealistic teenager who bought into all the lies he was told as a child and carelessly contributed to the stigma against elves because 'respect doesn't make history' became a tired and cynical man that understands the weight of his words and regularly risks his life by smuggling elves to safety.
That's really compelling character development, and we see NONE of it.
They give us implications and throwaway lines and a handful of scenes, forming a vague outline that they refuse to fill in. And it's so clear the writers didn't think or care about it, because otherwise we wouldn't have gotten that baffling scene where Jaskier seemingly ruins any chance of getting the elves onto the boat in favor of insulting the guard at the dock. (Personally I loved seeing him tear into the guy, but this was Not the time.) He's clearly meant to have been successfully helping elves for a while, but for some reason they don't want to show us any actual evidence of his competence.
And the disconnect between who he is vs who the show/characters treat him as grows when you look at his short appearance in Blood Origin.
He matters enough to the scoia'tael for them to attack a Temerian army camp he’s being held captive at, has enough influence (as a bard)for the seanchaí to believe he can spread the story she tells him, and for some reason the head of Redanian Intelligence bothered to be his benefactor. And the show ignored all of this completely in s2, even while setting it up. I really hope they explore Jaskier more in season 3 like it's been hinted, but considering the way shows usually refuse to address any complexities in characters like him I wouldn't be surprised if he spends the entirety of his screen time without displaying any of the abilities context says he has or (intentionally) doing anything useful.
