In the finale battle where Tanjiro! Reader finally meets Muzan again. They express their hatred towards him and how their going to laugh as he burns in hell.

Muzan isn't trying to kill them but instead inject his blood into their vessel so they can mind control them to be his child and fight for him.

When he finally does so, and Tanjiro! Reader becomes a demon while Nezuko becomes a human.

The hashira and their friends have to now fight off and kill Muzan and his child..

When the Markiplier Egos go to the battle grounds and see Tanjiro! Reader, they realize that they failed to save their child/sibling, the one person they vowed to protect with their lifes.

Summary:It was never supposed to be like this…it was never meant to end with you fighting the ones you love but..do you have a choice? It’s not like your in control of your mind or body because if you were you’d never be fighting the ones you love but then again….this mind and body was never yours to begin with :)

You were on the ground injured as Muzan hit you, he was crouching in front of you as he looked for something. “I hate you so much…you took away my mother and siblings, you took away the people who taught me how to love and be myself, you turned my sister into something that she’d hate, you killed innocent people for your selfish benefit. You never cared for others and just wanted entertainment so here’s your entertainment bitch! I’ll see you in hell!” You started laughing to distract yourself from the pain. Muzan hated hearing those words from his child but they just need a reminder of who their real dad is…he just needs to finish injecting his blood in you.

Soon you blacked out…Muzan smiled as he knew the process was starting. His child was coming back to him. Soon others arrived. “MUZAN GET THE HELL AWAY FROM Y/N” he just chuckled. “Seems your to late” they were confused as he brushed some hair out of your face as you groaned. “My child has finally come to their senses” everyone’s eyes widen…that fucker did something to you and they could tell as when your eyes opened..they no longer were your eye color..no..they were Muzan’s eye color. “There we go. Now time to get rid of you pest”

They failed you…they failed to save their child..they failed to save their sibling…the one person they vowed to protect for all their lives. Maybe they can do something to knock you out of this but even if they do this guilt they have will never go away….they didn’t protect you like they promised

God damn it. I had an entire thing and it somehow got deleted. Oh well.

Moth!Y/N is a bitch (affectionately, at least, on mine and the Egos’ part) and the Actor is proud. He’s crying. And moaning dramatically about how they’re taking after/imitating him.

Speaking of which. How’s he still alive? This is nothing like the original post because I’m irritated with Tumblr so I can’t do good like I did before. But.

Ever since we started this DSMP Egos x Reader thing, I’ve always imagined that everything is the same, just that the events from the Markiplier Connected Universe happened in the DSMP in the past.

So all of the characters abide by the three life system to some degree or another. So what’s up with the Actor?

Hell, he couldn’t have gone to the party because all of his lives would’ve been gone. Unless those deaths didn’t count. We know that the Actor’s soul had nowhere to go, and subsequently he either made the choice to, or was forced, back into his body. It would make sense if the life system didn’t count those deaths, which would explain how his body carried the marks of those deaths, but he was still able to make it to the party.

But then, how did he die? He would’ve respawned. Unless his first two lives had already been taken. Unless he had already died twice, outside of the manor.

Which then brings us to the DA and Abe.

I can see Abe having lost his first two lives on the job, especially because we know for a fact that he went through many partners, who, in his own words, ‘each one suffered a fate more gruesome than the last’. So there’s lots of room for him to have lost two lives.

But the DA? Sure, I can see them having an accident during childhood or something that killed them, especially from the way Damien talks to them, which suggests that the DA is a mischievous, perhaps even adventurous person. But going forward from that, they would’ve been careful. They didn’t want to die again.

So how? Sure, they were a major political figure in the town, but they only became a threat to the other campaigns once they and Damien’s campaign started to pull ahead. They only became a threat to those who would oppose Damien’s seat as mayor after the two had won the election and been instated.

And we know that the gap between them winning the election and the party isn’t long. Sure, the people at the party know the two as the Mayor and his DA, but the way they address Damien and the DA using their titles, and the way that Damien himself talks to the DA, suggests that it’s something new, that they recognize and respond to those titles, but that they haven’t gotten used to it yet.

Which means the party happened not long after they won the election. Which doesn’t give much, if any, time for the DA to lose their second life.

Speaking of which, does this mean that Celine had to actively fight against the forces of Death (aka Mumza’s magic) to carve out a space in the void for herself and Damien? Because if so, that is so badass.

And what about Wil? He had to have lost at least one life during his time in service, since we know he took part in an actual war. So then, how does this tie to him now?

Well, what if part of why Wil’s so violent is because he only has one or maybe two lives left? Because he knows that he has enemies, and he knows that he’s not immortal. Despite his reality bending abilities, he’s not invulnerable.

What if it’s part of why he responded to the events of WKM the way he did? Maybe he thought back to the war and the times he thought he’d lost a comrade, only for them to be in one piece, alive. Maybe this, in his delirium, made him think that it was all a prank? If past experiences had indeed led to him discovering his lost ones were alive, why wouldn’t he think so again, when in such a fragile mental state?

Sorry it devolved into speculation. I think this is actually shorter than the original.

Yancy x reader headcanons

You and Mark had landed yourselves in prison after robbing the museum.

The day you arrived, Mark was already starting issues. Trying to get in fights and acting like he was better then the others.

"Mark, you're going to get your ass kicked! Then I'm gonna be stuck here by myself!"

"Nothing's gonna happen to me! I'll be fine! I'm just trying to get us out of here."

By the end of the week Mark did indeed get his ass kicked and sent to another prison.

Great, now you are alone, just like you thought you were going to be.

For the first couple of days after Mark had been moved, you were kinda like the quiet kid.

You ate meals by yourself, you spent your free time either alone in your cell or wondering around outside/inside. You were kinda just floating around hoping no one noticed.

But someone did.

One day you were feeling really loney. You were thinking of your life before you robbed the museum. The time you spent with your friends, the mannor you lived in.

(Btw, in this you lived in Markiplier Mannor, the house from WKM and the other egos lived there too, your friends being the other egos. In this tho the main friend is Wilford but you could imagine it as anyone)

You had written to them to inform them about your situation and they had promised to visit when they could. But it was still another week until they could.

You sat alone on a couch. You noticed the couch dip down next to you. You turned to face them.

They looked so similar to Mark, you almost though they were. That was until they spoke to you.

"Hey, I've seen youse looking real loney around here and I wanted to check in on youse. My names Yancy." He held out his hand for you to shake and you did.

"Y/n."

"That's a nice name youse got. Hey weren't youse friends with that guy Mark, the one who got kicked out?" He asked.

"Umm, yeah kinda. He asked to go rob this museum with him to get this box thing. While we were trying to escape he blew up the vault and we had to run away. Once we got outside we found a car and a helicopter. We went to the helicopter and he didn't bother to tell me that he didn't know how to fly it and we ended up getting caught." His eyes went wide at your story.

"Wow, not to be rude, but that guy seems like an ass. I could just tell by the face. He's got one of those faces that just seem untrustworthy." You laugh.

"Yeah he was an ass but we were buddies that did crazy shit together." You smiled at the thought.

"Would youse want to maybe eat with me and my buddies at dinner tonight? I'm sure youse would get along with them." You agreed.

The whole family loved you. You all got along very well and they welcomed you right away.

Soon you started to hang out with the crew a lot more and I bit more with a certain someone ;)

You and Yancy enjoyed spending almost every minute of the say with each other.

During meals: Yancy would save a seat for you right across from him so he could talk and see you clearly. And if anyone tried to take that seat from you, he would be ready to kick their ass.

During outside time: you and him would walk around or sit in the shade and talk or sing random things.

During chore time: He would sign up for the same things as you so you could work together.

It took him awhile but he did notice that he had fallen for you. But he was quick to tell you. Once he knew he loved you he didn't want you to get away.

When you do start dating nothing really changes. All that does is Yancy is more clingy towards you. His favorite way to show it is by holding your hand or holding your waist so you have to stand close to him. He also loves kisses on the cheek.

Of course tho, on visitation day you had to introduce Yancy someone.

"Yancy come on." You said trying to drag him.

"I'm coming! You're moving to fast!" He giggled.

"Sorry, it's been to long since I've seen him." You got to the visitation room and were greeted by a pink hair colored man.

"Wilford!" You yelled and hugged him. He wrapped his arms around you and held you until you pulled away. Thoughts of jealousy had gone though Yancy's mind but he pushed them away when he saw your smile.

"Yancy! This is my best friend Wilford! We used to live together before I got sent here." You introduced him.

"You must be that very handsome man, Y/n keeps telling me about." You shoved him.

"Don't tell him that! You'll boost his ego." Yancy giggled with you.

"So, we are dating." You told Wilford.

"So you'll date a prisoner but you rejected me??" He joked. Yancy was confused at first but you explained that I was just a joke that has been messed around with for awhile.

(Idk what else to put so I'm ending it here. Ik shitty ending but I might work more with this in the future)

hi so on the discussion of musical numbers and mark egos I know that we'd all love another full yancy number but hear me out:

★ wilford warfstache musical ★

(now big disclaimer here, im not claiming to be an expert on the characters or mark lore. in fact, i know very little but this is just for fun, so please don't sue me?)

(also big preesh to @miacheezytoon for the inspiration!)

the way i see it though, the musical would sort of be like markiplier tv, in which wilford had a lot more creative control then's he normally afforded in actor mark's stories. he's not just a bonus character hiding behind an abstract choice- he's taken on actor's role and is playing many parts. also like markiplier tv, the tone of the musical would be very bubbly but the intent behind it would be very far from it.

but what would it actually be about? well i think that wilford would do a musical about the egos lives, a recapping of mark lore (which he outright states it is to Y/N) in an incredibly mocking nature. the way i'm picturing it, it would be a lot like the ember island play episode of avatar: the last airbender. however, its wilford in control of the story so its less of him innacurately portraying the others out of ignorance and more him purposely doing it to get a rouse out of them.

also did i mention it would be increasingly passive aggressive? because the main mark lore characters (actor, dark) would be forced to experience this whole thing as well. this show isn't just for us, the viewer, it fact we're really just along for the ride. no its specifically for actor and dark (damien and celine) (though less so) to show them just how he feels about everything and how harshly it affected him.

that is until actor or dark take the stage into their own hands- and then who knows what the musical might transform into...

also i think it would be really funny if some of the non actor-mark characters were randomly thrown into the musical at points. and they're given literally no forewarning so they just have to improv. so yes, this means yancy could pop in and because we all know he's a musical theatre guy he would would steal the show without even knowing what was happening

Space is So Cool Ch. 2: To the Moon and Home Again

Summary: Inspired by “In Space with Markiplier” Part 2. Yancy gets to meet a couple of the new Egos.

A/N: Visitation Day and celebrating part 2 of “In Space with Markiplier”.

Seen the name Murdock floating around for Murderipler so I’m going with that.

Chapters: 1, 2

It was strange, not being one of the newest Egos. Things were settling, the viewers were picking favorites, but new things were in motion.

The biggest problem was that Actor and Dark had both been given false scripts and Mark was still cackling about it. Actor had thrown a huge fit, and Dark had run off to break things and grumble in the Void.

A problem for literally everyone except for Wilford, because Wilford found everything hilarious. Yancy had been only around for two years, but he’d been able to get used to Dark’s mood swings.

But the project had passed, Yancy had played his part and the dust was settling.

It had been fun, at least until Actor strolled in with three of the new Egos, the Manor had yet to sort through and spit out any of the others but there was still time.

One was the Engineer. The other was the Egos’ newest resident murderer: Murdock. The third was Noir, he and the air around him was in shades of grey. Not too different from Dark.

Yancy had been in the living room, reading a book. Illinois was in the room as well on his computer researching something for his newest trip.

“And this is my Manor,” Actor gestured to himself. “Isn’t it amazing?”

“Y—” Engineer said before Dark suddenly appeared through some portal and attacked the Actor.

Engineer scrambled away to get away from the fight. It took Host, Google, Wilford, and Magnum to separate the two of them. Magnus had to hold Dark in a bear hug to keep him from attacking. Actor was glaring at Wilford who didn’t seem to be regarding him with any form of recognition.

Noir and Murdock both pulled out weapons but didn’t attack yet.

“Now Dark, you can’t just attack guests, we’ve talked about the art of hospitality,” Wilford said before flipping his butterfly knife out. “You say hello first.”

Then he went to stab Actor, who pulled back, erupting into a puff of black smoke.

“I’ll stay hello when I strangle him,” Dark promised.

“I don’t even know why you’re so upset,” Actor said. “You and I were there for the same amount of time.”

Dark glared at him, one of his echoes snapping at the Actor while the original stayed locked in Magnum’s arms. It made Actor shoot back to avoid getting his head cut off.

“So angry,” Actor smiled, walking away. Then he slapped Engineer on the shoulder as he disappeared in a puff of black smoke. “Well, that’s your problem now, kid.”

Dark glared at Engineer.

“Yancy should take the Engineer away from the Entity,” the Host warned. “Before the Entity attacks him.”

“Good idea,” Wilford smiled. “Old Darkling and I will talk for a bit and he’ll be right as rain in a moment.”

“Fuck you!” Dark shouted at Wilford.

“Later, sweetheart,” Wilford winked, and Dark only seemed to get angrier.

Wilford was cackling in laughter as Yancy pushed Engineer out of the room. Bim was watching them from the top of the stairs but he didn’t say anything as they walked out to the balcony patio.

“He gonna[1] be okay?” Engineer asked, gesturing with his thumb back inside the house.

“Yeah, he’s a little,” Yancy said, gesturing with his hand. “Give ‘im[2] a bit. He’ll come around. Maybe.”

“Helpful,” Engineer said. “Were you on the ship? I think I saw you on the ship.”

“Maybe,” Yancy shrugged. “I’s didn’t see youse, just Y/N. We’s had one hell’uva blast, though.”[3]

“Well, I remember the other guy telling me I’ll probably randomly go back to my ship, and then just appear here. As long as the ship’s okay then I’m sure it’s fine.”

“Yeah, it’s a bit weird but youse[4] are gonna[1] fit right in, don’t worry ‘bout[5] it,” Yancy told him.

Engineer looked over the place, “Nice place.”

“Youse[4] wanna tour?” Yancy offered. “King gave me a tour ‘a[6] the place when I’s[7] showed up.”

“Which one’s that?” Engineer asked as he followed Yancy back to the door.

“The one with all the squirrels. If you hear screamin’[8] in the middle ‘a[6] the night, it’s prolly[9] him,” Yancy said as he walked back in. There was another fight going on, but it wasn’t Dark this time.

The Entity was gone, probably back to his office was Yancy’s only guess. Noir was over with Illinois, looking at something on his computer, only occasionally glancing around the room. But Bim was yelling at Murdock.

“Keep him away from my knives and I won’t take his teeth,” Bim threatened as Wilford separated them.

“Just try it, pretty boy,” Murdock smiled. “Obviously you’re all looks anyways.”

“Now boys,” Wilford held a hand up, trying to keep one hand close to Bim and his martini pointed at Murdock. “You’re not sharing the same room. Everyone just get a nice drink and calm down.”

“I don’t want to calm down, I want this fucker in the ground,” Bim said.

“Change!” Wilford yelled and suddenly Engineer felt dizzy. He’d switched places with Murdock and was standing next to Wilford and a still angry Bim.

“Well, I wouldn’t want to keep you,” Wilford smiled at Yancy, waving his hands and suddenly Yancy and Murdock were elsewhere in the house.

“Fancy,” Murdock looked around. They were on the second floor. “He the only one who can do that?”

“Happens ta e’eryone,”[10] Yancy said.

“Interesting,” Murdock said.

“Youse[4] wanna tour?” Yancy offered. “I’ll go an’ see ‘bout the other guys. If youse wanna sit tight?”[11]

“Sure,” Murdock shrugged.

Yancy was able to get away and slip back downstairs to get Engineer and Noir. Illinois even accompanied them on the tour. It felt nice after the fights, trying to help the new Egos settle in.

Just like had been done for Yancy not too long ago.

The answers we received for WKM were really truly amazing, funny and as well as incredibly heartbreaking.

The fact that The Colonel was so remorseful about killing us wasn’t a big shocker, as we fall we can see it on his face, the shock, the regret. See that’s not what gets me— what fucking gets me is that I completely forgot this was taking place at night and I didn’t realize that William had been sitting on that chair the entire night. Like during that time he probably took off his coat and his red scarf and in an act of kindness in an act of remorse he drapes his coat over your body, puts his scarf under your head as a makeshift pillow and just sits there.

The Colonel’s world shatters and his psyche breaks, thinking that “no this wasn’t my fault, it was all an accident, no ones dead, not really, my friends are still alive. It was all a joke.”

My Alice is the love interest of Wilford Warfstache in my story, she is an “Y/N” she is not meant to be in Actor Mark’s games.

Alice isn’t entirely helpless like her Predecessor Ruth, when Alice grew up her mind may be scattered but she was smart enough to know something wasn’t right…

I have a headcanon that the viewers or “Y/N” are like “Successors” to actor Mark’s games as his companion.

The “Predecessors” are those who had passed on due to “unknown Circumstances” 👀👀

Unlike Ruth, she just “betrayed”, failed mark and she erased herself as “Y/N” to live her own Eternity life with Dark and the Markiplier Egos.

As you can guess, Alice and Wilford relationship is much like the romantic relationship in many versions of stories or Tim Burton’s version.

I do enjoy drawing Alice in Tim Burton’s artstyle it just fits her so well and I love doing opposite attract romance’s :)

ISWM Countdown- 6 days......

ADWM (general)

I’ve never properly discussed why I love ADWM so much but now I get the chance to. I’ll actually get into a dissection post sometime but this is SPECIFICALLY about moments.

“Bonjour” is the greatest joke in this video series and I will not take any criticism.

I have the exact same boots that Mark uses here and I just realized that while rewatching the series for this post. Wild.

He just gave us a massive fan service feast by making all of the fanfics come to life in a comedic, interesting, and very Markiplier manner.

The Romance poster is amazing. I still don’t know who edited that but I want to print it lol.

The fact that we actually get to see (Y/N) Fischbach in the NO option. I’m so happy Mark is for Y/N rights. Made a post of how funny it is in the ADWM timeline we’re still most likely going around with the name Y/N Fischbach.

We still have the long running joke of not getting back our credit card. 5 years since that date and we never got it back.

Skeleton getting thrown in frame is still an on-going visual gag and I’m sure ISWM will find a way to bring that in. Along with the PB&J and Tuna sandwiches.

ADWM (HORROR)

That ain’t makeup under his eyes, it’s an edit of Mark’s eyes. In the BTS when they reach to filming in the theatre, Amy says they’ll just add it in post production. Gosh dang it’s a good edit that at first glance you’d really think it’s makeup. It’s most obvious at like 1:11-1:30. It adds a creep factor to it. Most fans when watching this don’t quite have the same scared reaction live (on the day) watchers had y’know. Same for the ear ringing. The goosebumps were real.

Dark you’re really making it hard to not fall for you. 6 years of this bullshit we going round and round in circles and you make me grin way too fucking wide damn it.

ADWM (FREEDOM!)

I’ve always found a certain VFX funny. It’s the one where Dark’s outline gets larger in the background. Not good at explaining so timestamp, 0:24. That. Same effect is used in Heist but just the enlarged ears. It’s funny to me okay.

Another case of fanon and death of the author. We all like to think of Dark as this untouchable and indestructible being but when confronted with Mark (or Tyler with a printout of Mark’s face in this case), no murder or fight to the deaths happen. Dark just curses at him and proceeds to bag his fucking head in response to his own head being bagged. Sir, you are so fucking goofy. Just the transition from serious blackmail(?) to the fight. Comedy gold everyone.

When pleading their innocence, Dark’s more controlled movements just screamed theater kid to me. I don’t know, I just really found it charming.

ADWM (LEFT)

Mark’s death sound will never not be funny, I want it as my ringtone.

Dark out here and his first instinct is to reassure us and that’s it’s alright. Master manipulator you are sir! Since you’re fictional I’ll allow it and willingly go forth! At least you had a nice reaction, Mark just assured us that murder was okay in that situation. Even their monologues after, similar script but reactions are night and day.

Also I love chocolate!!!! you aren’t the wrong choice at all~ ISTG if yandereplier didn’t exist I would think you were the yan with your parting words.

Who Killed Markiplier

Poker table recollection by William is underappreciated and I want to say that is in my top moments of Chapter 1.

We’re aware of the Life quotes gif sets from this series and boy are they just immortal. I’ll take all three to print out please!

The groundskeeper is probably the weirdest one off character we’ll ever get.

The Chef is one of my favorite recurring side characters, and the Butler’s presence is nice. It’s funny how little buddy was just there when they rented out the place. The stars aligned for that moment.

Celine, I loved her outfit. Would wear that 10/10.

Actor’s robes are so fucking slutty in the way he descends down the staircase and you just see the legs underneath. No wonder Mark was so careful with how he moved.

Abe. My gosh this detective is so weird but so funny and we just get dragged around and everything is a mess but his presence is fun.

William is a walking fucking stereotype and he is just taken out of Jumanji but he has his own character! I really love the outfit design for him. Those glasses. Very cool. I want to steal those glasses.

Okay but can we talk about how every time Damien is on screen it feels like I’m reading a fanfic but it’s in video form. I swear to God, so many shots it feels like there’s a halo above him. The one on the second floor with those bright ass lights, the gazebo. The whole he’s the only one that trusted you from start to finish (before any of you say there’s the Detective, remember he turns on you for a bit in chapter 3 when Celine arrives at the table). He is an angel. I will die on this hill and I will die for him (quite literally but it technically wasn’t for Damien).

All the Jim videos are a fucking masterpiece of a shitpost that they are my canon Jims. Don’t know those bitches in Markiplier TV, I like them unhinged. Demons Jim is the fucking best.

To note: I’m pretty sure that there were only two hands that it kept alternating with throughout the series. That is Ethan (starting shot in chapter 1), and Amy (last Y/N hand shot in the final chapter with the cane). Make do with that information.

Wilford ‘MOTHERLOVING’ Warfstache

First joke that made me laugh? When the briefcase fell from the car.

Any long time Mark fans know that the party place is the same one from Ninja Sex Party’s Cool Patrol where Mark had a cameo in.

I loved the hmm.... would it classify into environmental story telling? Color theory? IDK. But the way the noir colors with Abe turn into this fucking pop and lively full colored world that Warfstache lives in is just so telling of the kind of characters they are. It’s fucking brilliant. And the way that when they’re in the same frame the colors are somewhere in between those two, it’s just so cool. The art kid in me gives it a thousand thumbs up.

A joke I love to this day: the person who just casually dances away after Abe shot his gun in the air until they’re out of frame.

Wilford doing that thing again where the other person is still talking to them but Wilford isn’t quite there.

The entire car scene. Fuck I love that car scene. Did I mention how much I love the car scene?

The 2 moments where he directly looks at the camera, to you, the viewer while he’s dancing. One at the start and the end. Very cool.

The look of realization in Wilford’s face that he knows Abe. Shit that gets me.

Not at both Wil and Actor saying Celine would carve their hearts out. Bro, she so ruthless.

That small glitch in 10:38.

The fact that Wil’s mustache has frosted pink tips.

The way he just fucking talks to the gun as if it was an actual child.

Both of their acting is top notch. Mick when he finally burst after all of this nonsense, Wil when he delivered his speech to Abe. I will say without bias (and this one really is without bias) that among the WKM storyline videos. This is the series’ Magnum Opus. The Best of the Best. From the comedy, to crime, and the drama. The tragedy of it all! Even without knowing the story or anything about the Markiplier TV/MarkCU this would be the one video that I would show to friends if they ever asked me to recommend any of his more professionally made videos.

I also feel for Abe to a spiritual level of like wanting to make sense of nonsense even if in the end it doesn’t mean anything. It’s what’s fun for me. Just like right now! with this post! Putting feelings into tangible things through words. With my appreciation for the team’s craft and overanalyzing of things. I like things to make sense even if it doesn’t need to.

DAMIEN

This is a half baked thought process but Celine tells Damien to go to sleep and Dark tells the viewer to go to sleep in don’t remember.

Actor says to Damien what he said to the viewer in WKM “It’s not fair, is it?”

Those earlier two points just point the similarities of The DA and Damien.

First most notable thing. From being the author’s head canon during the WKM explanation stream, Celine and Damien being twins is now canon! Congratulations Mark one of your visions has been fulfilled!

“Don’t let anyone ever leave” Fuck the shitty house entity. All my homies hate the house entity.

Bro let me tell you, I liked Actor even with what happened in WKM but this video made me like him a lot. The lilt, the sing song voice. Bastard but I don’t hate him. Never in the way the majority of the fandom feels for him...

The emotion in fucking “Acting like you’re the only one without blood on their hands!” sent me. Bro u right but you got no right to say that to our sweet beloved Damien. Rude.

Actor just has so much character and I am a villain apologist in multiple fandoms so...

In both WMLW and DAMIEN, Mark just saying the word “carve” in each characters accent gets me in a way I’m not sure how to explain. That’s actually explainable, I liked Heathers. You know the song with the word carve. The ones that do, they get it.

Celine is a very cool sister.

Just the entire exchange towards the end, it was so heartfelt. The emotions, wow. “I can’t remember the last time I slept” “Don’t worry I’ll protect you” and the callback to what Celine said earlier. Celine warning Damien of the consequences of his actions, Damien fully understanding this and taking up that mantle. God, such powerful stuff.

In the explanation stream for DAMIEN, it’s incredible how different his views are about certain characters when you compare it to let’s say the ADWM explanation stream. Speaking of, at the end of the stream, he was basically saying the DA is an observer to everything that happens. We are in DAMIEN as simply the viewer. As the actual you behind the screen. Crazy how we’re such an integral character to the plot even if we can’t do anything because without our presence, these stories wouldn’t see the light of day. What’s a hero without a villain and what’s a story without an audience. We may not directly affect what happens but we do get to see as everything unfolds, as the world gets built and broken down.

A Heist With Markiplier

This is the longest of the entire thing so I’ll batch them up and really really make it short as possible.

Main video- banger we got to go on a quick heist adventure. Quick in and out. The story is finished we did the Heist. Mark dummy is incredible comedy in the works. Waiting for this tradition to come back in ISWM.

Dark tunnel & Endings- SMH why does he want to die so badly. No Mark, I will not allow you to kill yourself. Laughed my ass off when we cuffed ourselves to Mark. He ain’t leaving. Very final split up option, I really like the vibe of ending 29. Alright, I’ll live in a foggy area in a cottage. Sure. Ending 30 is amazing with the whole seeing the alternate endings without having been there in that timeline. About Ending 31? I’m just a simple simp simpleton. My most popular post in this fandom is saying how much I love him.

Light tunnel & Endings- Animation is cool as shit. Very sus for Mark to say not again with the alien ending because that implies in Ending 23 that ADWM came first then AHWM. Caveman MatPat fuck yeah. Ending 25 fun but terrifying love the not actually freeze frame. Captain Magnum’s death by snu snu line delivery is funny. Out of all the random deaths, getting cannoned out is my favorite. Golden Treasure’s an entire reference that I like kind of ending. Treasured Gold is cheesy but at least its one of the better endings.

Car & Endings- underrated moment is when you wake up and he cooks breakfast for you. Heist Mark huge BF material. Illinois being such a flirt intentional or not is much appreciated. His wink, with the whiplash! What a heartbreaker but Illinois is pretty charismatic so he get’s a pass. Then there’s this zombie apocalypse route is where Mark is the best partner you could ask for. Like when he punched Zombie Tyler for us, asked us if we were okay and if we needed something for the cough. Ending 4 is cute. Screaming with Ed is great. That oh so familiar pb&j and tuna sandwich options. Endings 8 & 9 are way too wholesome. Time is fucked but we got a scientist this time and Mark is on our side. Awww. Seriously, how sweet. Ending 6 is a very satisfying end. Honestly the Car route is like the best way to go, least bad ends.

Helicopter & Endings- Worst idea since we get sent to prison. Not so bad idea when Mark got punched and we got Yancy singing. Incredibly rude to kick dance us to death but incredibly bittersweet when we had to say our goodbyes. Yancy’s “youse gonna fit riiight in” hits the right notes. Not much to say about the Charm the guards route. Bob and Wade’s appearance :DDD. I have a love-hate relationship with Wilford’s I ❤ U underwear. I love how we’re in the hot seat and we got to live.

The Ned Affair- The Warfstache Saga

This comment sums up everything concisely

The Fall of Slender Man

It is canon that Warfstache beat up Slender man during the time he had an afro and went to Jamaica with said afro. His popular ‘Warfstache don’t take shit from nobody’ line.

Another moment I found hilarious is the shot where Wilford just wasn’t in the seat and Mark is just continuing on his ramblings as if Wilford was still in that chair.

Final one, is when Wilford unsheathes the knife from his stockings. Like that implied he wasn’t wearing pants during the interview and Mark either wasn’t paying attention or just didn’t comment on it.

And while it was just a funny skit at the time, with the lore we have now it’s interesting how our perception of the video changed. It’s as if Wilford isn’t lucid enough to recall a certain Mark he used to know or this could be the egos testing the waters on how they could kill Mark.

Honorable Mention:

DARKIPLIER vs. ANTISEPTICEYE

For being a canon non-canon and very fan service video. Well it seems on the Mark side it’s non-canon. Jack’s side seems to be semi-canon in fanon lore. Even rewatched explanation video for it. Gosh, simpler times. The bloopers video is such a good cringe too. Seems to be the video that solidifies how Dark is just kinda flirty, kinda sensual without meaning to. So yes people, he is both flirting and threatening you.

+ nose boop and embarrassed reactions from everyone. Fucking SS tier quality bloopers.

The Warfstache Automated Interview Automaton

Honestly I should be ashamed at myself for forgetting this but yeah this short very FNAF inspired CYOA was sad. Potato salad and exotic butters kinda sad. Also whoever created the 3D models. Amazing work.

Don’t Open the Door

Not considered but this was just a fucking fever dream of an experience. The title naming suggests it’s a Dark related video but it’s just Mark. Very confusing.

i know this is a sanders sides blog, but i watched in space with markiplier last night (having not interacted with mark's lore/ego stuff for like, 2 years) and i have some Thoughts i need to excise. some about greater timeline implications, some about the parallels to a certain wkm character, and some inspired by parallels to other stories altogether. so, here, have all too many words about that. spoiler warning (obviously)

NOTE: this post was written before part 2 came out and thus a lot of stuff in it is outdated.

1. timeline thoughts

as others have pointed out (though this is something i happened to notice myself), the box that serves as the macguffin for heist appears to have one of the timeline-hopping crystals we get in iswm embedded in it. the box that glitches out when mark picks it up, leading immediately into the first branching of paths in heist.

whether or not it's literally the one we got that we will give up to potentially close the loop in part 2, mark (and y/n) seems to have at least some idea what it does with how he talks about it:

this is what we've been working towards all those years. this is gonna change our lives forever.

so it seems like space might just be a prequel to heist, which we know was a prequel to date.

there are two... complications, with that though.

first, if mark and y/n have managed to escape all the spacetime wormhole shenanigans by heist as it seems... why the hell would they want to risk throwing themselves back into it by going after another artifact with these powers?

what other timeline(s) might mark want to jump to? or, rather, actor!mark?

(leaving this here for no reason at allllll)

this transitions nicely to the second complication, another thing that others have already brought up: actor!mark says in his appearance in space that he has one month left of parole, which is a progression from when he said he had five years left in date. so, from actor!mark's perspective, space is after date.

five years after. which is how it is for us.

and also, as far as i can tell, for good old darkiplier. because i went back to his ending in heist after finishing space, and the way he talks about our search for answers, how badly we want to see what's in the box, doesn't really work if we already know what the box does. which, if space came first, and the reason heist happens at all is because we (mark and y/n) want that crystal for what we know it can do, we do (we will).

i wonder if, in space part 2, we'll get a new password for the heist site. when it won't be "too soon" anymore.

2. the celine-alikes

again, i'm building on things other people have pointed out here. we have two celine-alikes in iswm. there's celci, for multiple reasons including the unique way her dossier is crossed out, her face and name not covered with bloodstains, but seemingly scratched out, with red and cyan outlines.

her whole ending can even be seen as a parallel to what celine was trying to do in damien, putting people (her brother) in stasis to save them from otherwise predetermined death. plus, looking at celine's outfit in damien, both she and celci have fluffy hoods.

the other option is ms. whitacre, who people are speculating could straight-up be an older celine (dark). i say "other option", but there's the one sticky note in a locker that literally asks if there's a connection between celci and ms. whitacre, so.

(side note i saw someone point out in the notes of another post: if you mix up "celci" and "dorene" (ms. whitacre's first name), you can get almost the name "celine". and hey, celine as a name that means moon. that seems maybe thematically relevant.)

now, if we were to ask why these celine-alikes were included in this story... remember that, on some level, these are productions by actor!mark.

if i wanted to, i could go off on a theory that all of this trilogy is a combined creation of his mind and the house (which i feel like i remember mark saying on a livestream that the latter was a metaphor for the former?); that actor!mark is living out his heroic fantasies like he implied in damien; that the spooky voice in the "open the door" route/endings is the spirit of the house; that we haven't just not left the house, but may in fact be falling under its influence, as it entices us with endless stories, endless do-overs, endless chances for revenge on the asshole who killed damien and ruined everything...

but for right now, all i want to suggest with this is that celci is a representation (manifestation?) of actor!mark's current view of his ex. to put it simply, a literally cold hearted bitch.

as for ms. whitacre... well, if she's literally just dark, then there's no real justification needed, since dark exists on that higher meta level. if not? ...get back to me on that.

3. parallels of a different sort

since damien stuff came up in that last section, i'll say that i went back and watched it after iswm (and the dark ending in heist), and there was one thing damien said to celine that made me sit up in my bed:

Aye Aye, captain.

i know, i know. but does this actually mean anything?

well, i kept watching the video. and when celine started talking at the end about how everything she did was to save damien, even keeping him in an unending loop, and damien saying that he can't be saved like this, but they can maybe fix things together...

it makes me think about how part 2 might end - or at least, whatever the "true ending" might end up being.

in other words: what if that line from damien is meant to draw a parallel between celine and us? both of us trying to save everyone (or at least the people we care about) with the knowledge we have - knowledge that, while limited, is still greater than most of the other characters trapped within the story?

i mean, she's already walking around in our body, isn't she?*

now, let me add a second level to that: what if we're also supposed to see a parallel between her relationship with damien, and our relationship with mark?

obviously it isn't one-to-one. but it's a thought that hasn't left me alone since last night, so, do with it what you will.

*EDIT - i had a thought tonight while watching, of all things, 2001: a space odyssey for my film genres class. you know what the strongest parallel between celine and the audience (not so much y/n) is? a parallel that also applies to the relationship to damien/mark?

in-story, celine made darkiplier. the circumstances were all set up by actor!mark, sure, but, as far as we can tell, she's the one who pulled whatever magic put her and damien in the da's body, with damien seemingly having as little or less of a clue as to what the hell was going on as we did. and she took the lead until damien stepped up.

out of story? well, i wasn't around for this, but my understanding is that dark, while obviously being based on mark, was largely a creation of the audience. an idea fuelled by fandom that mark would occasionally play into. then wkm came around and gave us a definitive backstory for him. that was mark realizing dark as a character, making him real. that was mark taking the lead.

that was mark picking up the staff and making dark's skin his own.

celine made dark. we made dark.

how does this apply to iswm? to celci and/or ms. whitacre? ...we'll have to wait and see, won't we?

4. other stories

this section is more just for funsies. firstly, given that the stanley parable: ultra deluxe is coming out at the end of this month, i was pleasantly surprised to find a path in iswm that felt very reminiscent of, if not directly inspired by, the game, which mark played a whole 8 years ago (feel old yet?).

and thinking about that got me thinking about one of the takeaways from tsp: the only way to truly win, to escape the loop... is not to play. cause there's the celci ending, isn't there? where we take ourselves out of the loop and let everything stagnate. but that isn't exactly presented as a good ending. perhaps that signals that our persistence will be rewarded after all?

(perhaps the "good ending" will be more of a bad end theatre parallel, with us facing down whatever force has decided that we can't save everyone, that we won't get a happy ending?)

the other game iswm reminded me of, pretty much as soon as i got to the midpoint (having just seen the "live a long and happy life where the colony prospers without mark" timeline), is returnal. was it out before mark started working on iswm? no, so any parallels are purely coincidental. have i played the game? ...no. but i sure have watched jacob geller's video on it. it'll spoil most of the game if you watch it through, but it gets ya thinking.

and as a departing note, while i'm reccing jacob geller videos, because he's one of the best video essayists on youtube... y'all might get something out of this one on time loop nihilism :)
