#You know how creation and god myths can get lmao
Note
Since the Dendera "Lightbulb" is a hieroglyph representing the creation of the world, are there other hieroglyphs like it found in different temples or tombs?
It's a bit difficult to answer that one. Dendera temple, and the 'lightbulb' is Ptolemaic, which means we'd have to find very similar motifs in Egypt's previous history and that's no short order I can tell you.
Basically, what it's representing is the birth of the sun god Horus (as a snake, yes that's a thing because Sun god Ra is often depicted as a snake and Horus is aligned with Ra as Re Horakhty) emerging from the lotus flower boat prow surrounded by a hn (hen) which we *think* is maybe the womb of Nut, it's certainly a 'vessel' of some kind. However, you get uses of hn's in the Book of Hours and the Book of Caverns which tell the story of the creation of the Hours of the day, and Ra's journey through the Netherworld respectively. I know someone who did their PhD on the hn capsules and they still don't know quite how they function lmao, but they're sort of used to trap malign entities and also not so they're multi-use.
Here's an image from the Book of Caverns showing the hn capsules:
Tumblr media
[id in alt for all images]
You can actually see Horus as a snake in the top left in front of the Pharaoh with an erection. It's a rebirth motif, just like the Dendera one, just in two different forms.
The lotus flower/boat stern & bow motif shows up in many models:
Tumblr media
The Dendera motif depicts Horus emerging from a stern lotus that's similar to the one on the left of this image i.e. prominently curved inwards. Emerging from a lotus is an extremely common motif as it's related to the Hermapolitan creation myth where a mound sprang from the waters of Nun, and from it grew a Lotus flower. From the Lotus flower the sun god emerged. This god is usually Ra, but since Horus later gains the aspect Re Horakhty and is a Sun god himself, rising from Lotus at creation is perfectly within his mythological remit. Since a King is also associated with Horus and Ra, they will depict themselves emerging as the Sun god from a Lotus. Much like this image of Tutankhamun:
Tumblr media
Basically it all ties in with images of rebirth and creation, and if you know what you're looking at you can spot the Ancient Egyptian motifs that have been combined to create the Dendera scene.
So while I cannot show you a specific example of the exact same motif, I hope I've shown you where all the elements of the Dendera scene come from within Egyptian mythology.

i just played paradox lost and enjoyed it a bunch im interested in ur sburb theories uwu
Thank you so much! I'm really glad you liked it! God willing, I WILL get the art for volume 2 done eventually.
I have. A Lot. Of sburb theories. I wouldn't even know where to start lmao. I guess the most pertinent theory I have about Sburb in regards to Paradox Lost specifically, is
It Is Not Kind.
Sburb is the reproductive function of the universe. It is also a generator for creation myths, and what is narratively satisfying does seem to have some sway on its functions, though this may be contingent on the session being influenced by a Muse. But primarily, it is an essentially biological function that operates on the same or similar principles as more mundane reproduction.
There are two main strategies (with infinite variations and exceptions) when it comes to reproduction. The first strategy is to reproduce rarely, or in very small litters, with the parent devoting all their resources towards keeping their few progeny alive long enough to eventually reproduce as well.
The second strategy is to reproduce often or in very large litters, accepting that most of the offspring will die but, by sheer numbers, some will survive long enough to reproduce.
There are distinct advantages and disadvantages to each strategy. Individual progeny has a higher chance of survival with the first, and tends to be stronger and healthier overall. But it's an all-in gamble. Despite best efforts, often the offspring will die anyway. The resources spent on them are wasted, and the parent may not have the chance to try again. Useful mutations may die out simply because the carrier of that gene only had once chance to reproduce and, due to simple bad luck, failed.
Option two is, in some ways, a much safer bet. Individual odds for survival can be quite low, but it's almost guaranteed that some will make it through. The parent is required to spend less resources on the offspring, making it easier for them to try again in the event of failure. And of course, if you're interested in evolution, the scenario with more total births, and thus more chances for mutation, is much more appealing.
What is the goal of Sburb?
It is not to craft a narrative, or develop each player to their highest potential or most fully realized self. It is not to explore the player's traumas and guide them towards mental wellness.
It is to reproduce.
And I think it's fairly clear that it favors the second strategy in regards to reproduction. Not only are millions of sessions initiated across the planet, there are untold trillions of timelines generated by each of those sessions, which Sburb has the capacity to choose between, designating one the Alpha Timeline.
How does it choose? It is not simply the timeline from which all others branch, that's not how anything works. If you are on timeline A and choose between options 1 or 2, those options both branch off of timeline A. You are now on timeline A1 or A2. There is not a point at which one of those timelines becomes timeline A again. The alpha timeline is not a linear path, but rather a series of infinitely branching choices which the game has designated to be optimal.
Sburb is water rolling down hill. It could feasibly go any direction and still reach the bottom, but it will always choose the path of least resistance. What requires the least energy, what has the highest likelihood of success? What relies least on random chance?
There may be infinite timelines where the session is technically successful. Some of those may be more narratively satisfying. Some may be more personally satisfying for the players. But only one has the highest percentage point chance of success. And that is the timeline Sburb chooses to propagate, pruning all the others.
Sburb is not kind.
Heir of Breath was not a kind classpect to give someone who already felt untethered and lonely and directionless.
The Land of Heat and Clockwork was not a kind planet to give to someone traumatized by the sound of metal.
What it was, however, was effective in shaping the players into the kind of people they needed to be to finish the game successfully. Not happy people, not well people, just people who would make the right decisions at the right time to unfold events in the way Sburb designated as the optimal path for success.
That's where everybody goes wrong when they try to teach classpect or planet choice or whatever game construct as a fun personality test.
Sburb does not give you these things because they are a reflection of you, or even because they are what you need to grow as a person.
It gives you what will shape you into the tool it needs to reproduce itself, and everything else is inconsequential.
Sburb is not a consciousness, making deliberate choices. It is not benign or malicious or even really indifferent. It is an organ, no more capable of caring about you than an ovary can care about the sperm that die flinging themselves at an egg only to shatter on its outer barrier. If in dying the sperm weakened that barrier so that another that follows can penetrate, then it was successful. Dead and victorious. The ovary does not care. It simply produces another egg.

Alright listen i wanna scream about the last three chapters but i do not have the brain for fully fledged thoughts so this is what you're getting.
I am FASCINATED by this creation myth for the fae, btw. If I had more brain i feel like i could probably pull on things i know or have read but as of righgt now just know i reall love it and eventually i will be returning to it because I have some Thoughts I cant get out of my brain.
Also. I am once again projecting onto Scar as someone who Has Been deathly ill a few times in my life. Genuinely there are periods of terrifying lucidity and long stretches of basically unconsciousness for me too so its like. I am. Looking.
Oh my god and then Mumbo and Cub. PRESIDENTIAL ALERT: THE GIRLS ARE FIIIIGHTIIIIIIIIIING. but also genuinely I think whether it stays Mumscarian or goes Mumscarvexian Cub's relationship to the trio is SO interesting. How he does to some extent know Scar but he knows a younger Scar who was less sure of himself. How Mumbo DOES know Scar but he only really knows the older and more confident Scar. God. they. MMMMMMMM. And the fact that Mumbo and Cub are like, two sides of the same coin here - Shadow magic of two different kinds. So so so close with Scar. God. AUGH.
F U C K AO3 WENT DOWN UHHHH But Also. The fact that there is definitely Something in there and I don't mean the Skeleton Archer while they are GOING AFTER HUNTERS. MUMBO! CUB!!! WAAAAAAAH
And then the NEXT chapter where Grian's fucking dumbass takes Scar's magic and is like 'SCAR AND MUMBO CAN NEVER KNOW *kills the lawn and a tree*" liike okay bird brain. GOD!!!! ALSO THAT SCENE WAS SO INTENSE I AM!!! AHHHHHHHHH GOD GRIAN YOU!!! DUMABASS I AM RATTLING YOU!!! AND SCAR AND MUMBO ARE GOING TO RATTLE YOU AS THEY FUCKING SHOULD!!!!
And then more of the Fae story I am!!!! WELL I WOULD BE LOOKING AT IT IF AO3 WASNT DOWN BUT!!! STARING!!!!
LMAO a lot has happened and I did not give anyone time to process <3
LOOK. I AM SO. I fucking love myths and legends and I've been sitting on this for MONTHS, trying to figure out the best way to piece it together to maximize Creation Story vibes, and I am loving how it's coming together <3 I love the Fae story I have created, it is near and dear to me. Also leave it to me to create a "monarchy with absolute power" but said monarchy has absolutely the most brutal burden and responsibility to carry <3 May slightly be influenced by Cost of the Crown. "Though I am the head of state, in truth I am the least." THIS LINE LIVES IN MY HEAD RENT FREE so it may or may not have influenced how the Fae royals (and Elves in general) carry a burden and obligation <3 BUT YEAH THE FAE STORY. I am absolutely in love with it I'm hjgjkhfkfd <3
jkfgdjk Ihope I'm presenting that well enough, I know it's not 1:1 with real life (because it's a fantasy illness that depends on magic production + how much magic is in your system so it's more cyclical than real life) but just the idea of being aware that you're slipping away (and knowing very well that you might never wake up again) just scares me and makes me feel absolutely helpless, so I hope I'm conveying that well enough </3
THEY'RE FIGHTIIIING. Regardless of what happens yes I think Cub is an interesting addition to the Coven group 👀 YEAH That is exactly what I wanted to highlight here- Cub used to know EVERYTHING about Scar, but that was a completely different time and a completely different Scar. And Mumbo knows Scar NOW, knows him in the way Cub doesn't anymore, and just hhhjjgf. PARALLELS BABEYYY you know me, I love me some parallels <3
AO3 SABOTAGED YOUR ESSAY HJJSKJFSK </3 IT'S OKAY THO WE SURVIVED!!! Hahaha oh yes <3 The sad thing is Mumbo KNOWS there's something else... but he's so focused on Scar that he just dismisses it.... oh Mumbo.... and Cub doesn't really know any better, this is his first time spending any extended time out here </3
HAHAHA YEAHHHH Like I said to Void, why take "Deus Ex Machina" when I can use "Fuck Around and Find Out" and have Grian being stubborn and overconfident and fucking suffer for it <3 GOD GRIAN IS GONNA GET SO RATTLED. I wonder how he's gonna try and hide the damage to the lawn :)
I LOVE THE FAE STORY. Also the fact that Scar is sharing this story in his moments of lucidity.... <3 And trying to keep going even while his focus and his mind are slipping I AM SO JKFSKLFS-

OC lore dump because. Yes
I already talked about Eterna's creator deity, Null and The Little Traveler (that was. Months ago. Lmao) so now it's about time I talk about Zephyr, Sage, and Siren, the world's Guardians.
Let's start with some general facts.
Each one has a specific "domain" they watch over and protect- the skies, the earth, and the oceans, respectively. Each one is specifically attuned to their domain, with their appearances and powers being influenced by it. They are not bound to them, though. They can explore as much of the world as they wish (to the extent their physical limitations will allow.) Their appearances are also somewhat influenced by the creatures and people they have met over the many, many years they have existed, so they didn't always look the way they do now.
(More under cut)
Zephyr, Sage, and Siren didn't exist when the world or the universe were first created. In fact, they were made long after the first sentient creatures came along. There's a lot of myths surrounding how exactly they came to be. Some say they are lost souls who died among the elements they now watch over and control, given a new lease on life by Null who took pity on them. Others think Null just made them outright for the sole purpose of protecting their elements from the greedy who choose to exploit nature.
They're all the same age, a couple hundred thousand years old (which I'll say is the god equivalent of late teen-young adult in this universe. Time gets funky when you live forever.)
They don't remember how or why exactly they were born, and, frankly, none of them really care. The circumstances of their creation aren't too relevant to their current lives. They're mostly worried about the world slowly dying from the Penumbra.
Now moving on to more specific facts about each Guardian, in order from when they first meet The Little Traveler.
Starting off with Zephyr!
Tumblr media
Zephyr is the Guardian of the Skies. He watches over the atmosphere, up until where the air meets space. He's made up of solid clouds, so his form can shift slightly, dissipate, or even produce rain, lightning, or snow when needed. He's very light and cool, and if you were to touch him, it would almost feel like there's nothing there at all. Some say he is a piece of the sky itself given eternal life.
He has full control over the winds and the weather. He can summon great storms at will, though sometimes he'll summon them involuntarily if angered or saddened enough. He's usually very chill and carefree, though, but that demeanor only came after many years of being unable to control his emotions or the storms that came from them.
He's a bit playful and quite sociable. Most people see him as strange for a deity, as he'll regularly visit villages and towns to rest after a long flight or to talk to people and make friends. You wouldn't really expect that from such a powerful being. It makes him quite well known among what remains of the population, and though he's still revered as a deity, some people see him a bit more like the person that he really is. He doesn't like being worshipped, anyway, so he doesn't mind his relationship with people being as casual as it is. In fact, that's exactly how he wants it to be. He often calls himself lazy, but he can be more determined than anyone, given the right motivation.
He enjoys flying, adventuring and exploring (especially when it's with Sage and Siren), and chatting about said adventures. Sometimes he likes to test how high up into the sky he can fly. He can reach high enough to see the stars beyond, even in the day, but that's about as far as he can go. He doesn't get to do the things he likes much anymore, though, due to the all-consuming darkness taking over Eterna.
When he first meets The Little Traveler, he is the only Guardian who remains. He doesn't know what happened to his siblings, but he fears the worst, and is on a quest to find and save them. But he's at his wit's end, having exhausted himself fighting off Umbral Beasts and keeping what remains of civilization safe.
If I had to give him a voice, I'd say he sounds a lot like Pit from Kid Icarus: Uprising.
Next up, Siren!
Tumblr media
Siren is the Guardian of the Oceans. She watches over Eterna's oceans, down to their deepest, darkest depths. Her body is made entirely out of liquid, so she will freeze or evaporate depending on the temperature in the environment. Her form is very malleable, able to change shapes at will, and will blend in with surrounding water almost perfectly. Despite her fish-like appearance and lack of legs, she can move out of water just as easily as she can in it by swimming through the air itself.
She can easily control the water around her, able to create large waves and change the tides by just raising a fin, and can draw out water molecules from the air and condense them into liquid form. She can also create ice or burning steam at will. She can swim at great speeds underwater and reach down into the deepest parts of the oceans without the pressure affecting her. (She knows what's down there, but refuses to tell.)
She is energetic and very mischievous, though she's never outright malicious with the tricks she plays on people. She is also confident and headstrong, and not afraid to try something new and take risks, which leads her to butt heads with Sage a lot. Many people see her not as a deity, but as a sea monster, or a force of nature, and she is the least known out of the group because of it. She seems almost unbothered and perhaps even unaware of the majority of the population's perception of her, though.
She enjoys pulling pranks on people, especially sailors at sea, scaring them by causing the water's to become rough suddenly or even pretending to be a monster. She never goes as far as to truly hurt anyone, she just gives them a spook. She also likes to sing, and has a beautiful, almost hypnotic voice, which some believe is how she got her name. Though she greatly enjoys company, she also values her time alone, so sometimes she will swim off as deep as possible and simply remain in the darkness for a while to relax.
A lot of the seas have been consumed by the Penumbra, and by the time Zephyr and The Little Traveler find her, she had already fallen to the darkness. She is frozen inside a cavern by a beach stuck in eternal winter, unable to do anything about the Penumbra except silently pray that her siblings are still safe out there.
This isn't the first time The Little Traveler had seen her, though. They'd been to this cavern before on their adventures, before they met Zephyr. But they thought her frozen body was just a strange ice sculpture, and it wasn't like she could speak to tell them otherwise.
And last but not least, Sage!
I had a hard time coming up with a voice claim for her and Sage, but the recent release of Sonic Prime gave me the perfect voice for her (yes I'm bringing Sonic into this. Shut.) She sounds almost exactly like Rouge the Bat and her Shatterverse counterparts (especially Rebel Rouge).
Tumblr media
Sage is the Guardian of the Earth. They watch over Eterna's continents and their flora and fauna. They were once just a sapling who created a body for themselves using their roots, molding it from the dirt, clay, and stone of the land they were once rooted in. They often smell like flowers (usually lavender) and wet earth after rain.
They are fully capable of molding the earth around them, as well as understand and communicate with animals, and grow and control plants to their will. Sometimes grass and wildflowers will sprout from their back when they're in a particularly good mood. Their appearance and energy levels also change depending on the season of the area they may be in. Just like a tree, their leaves will wither and fall during autumn, and they may go into a state of hibernation during winter.
They are very introverted, preferring solitude and the company of the animals and plants around them. They take their duties as deity much more seriously than their siblings, and they are not afraid to raise hell if people harm the nature they were made to protect. Because of this, they are seen as a mysterious being, and some believe they are more volatile and frightening than they actually are. And while they do dislike a lot of what people do and how they can cause unnecessary harm to nature, they don't hate them. Deep down they yearn for a connection with the people of Eterna, but their sense of duty gets in the way of that.
They enjoy order and calm above all else, and especially like listening to the sounds of nature and studying critters as they do their things and go about their lives. They also particularly enjoy creating flower arrangements by growing certain flowers on the ground below them, and making sculptures out of dirt and clay. They prefer their siblings' company in moderation, as they seem to take pleasure in annoying them (especially Siren.)
Their domain is mostly shrouded in the darkness of the Penumbra. They have unfortunately fallen it, their body being consumed by Umbral Rot, leaving them unable to do anything but watch as the world around them- and their own body- rot away in darkness. It's up to Zephyr, Siren, and The Little Traveler to save them.
The Little Traveler had seen them before on their adventures, too. But they couldn't understand Sage's weak cries for help. Their body had deteriorated too much to speak at that point.
The closest I could find to how they sound in my head is Howell Wizard from Bee and Puppycat.
And that's about it for now! Thank you for reading this far! Here's a picture of my cat for your troubles.

Day 2 of Pride Month interviews! You know them, you love them…. give it up for Ames!
Ames, author of Attollo and Metamorphosis
Pride Month Featured Authors
“…and it was a singular, terrible thought, which burrowed itself into your mind like an engorged maggot. This was not a man nor a monster. This was a concept, an ideology, a terrible myth, which had personified itself to stand before you now.You were, to put it simply, screwed.”
After several years of radio silence, you receive a message from your younger sibling that carries a strange sense of urgency to it. Either out of familial concern or boredom, you embark on a journey from your residence to your sibling’s apartment in New Hampshire to see what’s going on and, hopefully, be home before the weekend.
Too bad it’s never so simple.
Demo: Attollo, Metamorphosis (TBA)

(INTERVIEW TRANSCRIPT UNDER THE CUT!)
Q1: Tell us a little bit about your project(s)!
Attollo is a cyber-noir horror set in a walled city off the coast of the Atlantic that’s been a victim of a nuclear disaster. Attollo is a 17+ game that deals with heavy topics and a lot of moral questioning; from cults to corrupt government, it has no shortage of monsters in the dark—both metaphorical and literal.
Metamorphosis is a crime/horror story based in the world of crime scene cleanup, where there are three simple steps: Get the call, clean the scene, and don’t ask too many questions. These are the rules that you live by under the employment of Noctua’s Crime Scene Services, and you credit them for keeping you alive.
However, after a routine house call brings forth nightmares of memories that are not your own, you find yourself pulled deeper into Noctua—a city of both monster and man—in a bid to find out the truth behind the murder of Deirdre Callow, and better yet, how her memories came to be yours. Your job mandates that you don’t dig too deep—but could this finally be the exception?
Metamorphosis is 18+ and will have explicit content; follow the last moments of a stranger to find out not only who took her life, but how this connects to the underbelly that Noctua works so hard to hide.
Q2: Why interactive fiction? What drew you to the medium?
Lmaoo, oh man. I think it really all began last summer when I first found examples of interactive fiction. I don’t even remember how I came across it, it might’ve been that I saw it mentioned in a post or I saw it as a tag on Itch.io, but at some point, last summer I began to investigate it more. I think what really drew me in was the ability for the player to control the narrative; it was like playing an old RPG, but modernized, and the fact that I could see a story unfold that was influenced by my decisions was so fascinating to me. Not to mention that IF allows so much more character depth than regular novels, in my opinion.
I’m 99% sure my first exposure to interactive fiction was through the game Crème de la Crème (a fantastic game, by the way) and I just enjoyed it so much that I went haywire for the genre. Then Temple of the Endless Night came out (another fantastic game that I’m looking forward to!), and that was really the turning point for inspiring me to give it a go. Now, almost a year later, here I am working on my own two games!
Q3: Are your characters influenced by your identity? How?
My bisexuality doesn’t have much of a major influence on the game, but I do think it contributed to the way that I view and write relationships. I figured out my sexuality around high school (I kissed a girl in high school and found out I liked it just as much as when I kissed a boy) and since then I’ve been very involved in the LGBTQ+ community of both my hometown and uni town.
I think this involvement, like being able to hear about other people’s experiences and share my own, has made me feel a lot more comfortable writing some of the characters in the game. Although Attollo and Metamorphosis both don’t focus heavily on relationships (both have murder in them, which I feel is a bit more pressing), I do keep the option for any RO’s to be romanced by anyone, regardless of gender or preference, because that’s simply what I’ve become so attuned to. In terms of side characters relationships as well, I think my involvement and my own experiences have allowed me to write far more diverse relationships than I might have, and I think that this has also allowed a more fulfilling experience for players when reading through.
I also have incorporated some struggles that I’ve faced before because of my identity into the games. For example, I and a few others have faced issues with religion due to who we are, and I incorporate this into both games. Dreamwalker, Pariah, and Sysba from Attollo all have shadows of this experience in their character origins, and Ilali and Ariston from Metamorphosis has a major point involving identity and beliefs. Both games also have undertows of ostracization and division between groups, which is also something I’ve experienced in the past. Being able to grapple these moments and control them via a narrative has been eye opening for both myself and others involved, and I’m hoping it can be a learning experience for the readers as well.
Q4: What would you like to see more of in LGBT+ fiction?
I think, now, the amount of progress in LGBTQ+ fiction is expanding at a wonderful rate. There are so many interactive fictions with options to select sexuality, select gender, select beliefs, etc. However, despite this expansion, there’s still a good deal of backlash against some aspects of LGBTQ+ fiction.
For example, as a bisexual woman who has dated men, I know there are some individuals who may not consider me a part of the LGBTQ+ because of this aspect. Not only is this incredibly disheartening, but it’s a viewpoint that I think should be educated against, and fiction is a fantastic pathway to do this. Another example I can think of is a friend of mine who identifies as asexual but is sex-neutral rather than sex-repulsed. Most people can’t believe her when she says this, and she often faces backlash for this declaration as well. This is another thing that I think that, with exposure through a medium such as fiction, can be worked on.
What I’m trying to say here is that I think LGBTQ+ fiction can be a brilliantly educational platform—if used right. Although it already teaches so much with what it has, I think having that representation of different subgroups of sexuality, of their experiences and beliefs, so people can become aware and knowledgeable of these options, is something I’d like to see more of.
Q5: What or who are some of your biggest inspirations?
Oh man, I struggled to list off inspirations because I know I have some, but as soon as someone asks me who they are my brain just goes ‘brrrrrr’ LMAO.
In terms of the games that I write and the worlds that I build, I think David Lynch and Robert Chambers are probably the two that I somehow incorporate. Attollo and Metamorphosis both have a lot of surrealist horror, which are what these two really specialized in. Shirley Jackson is also another person who inspired me a lot when it came to the writing and creation of Attollo, especially the intrapersonal relationships between the characters.
In terms of life, this is something else I really struggle to answer. I don’t really have celebrity inspirations or anything like that, but I do get inspired by my close friends and sister a lot. Seeing them go through the struggles that they face and absolutely thrive really drives me to push through my own struggles. They’re the strongest, most brilliant group of people that I know, and I consider myself incredibly fortunate that I can be a part of their lives. Not only that, but we also all collectively encourage each other to push further and to chase our dreams (as cheesy as that is LMAO) and that’s something that I think is another stroke of good fortune. I struck gold when I met them, and they’re some of the biggest inspirations in my life.
Q6: What’s a super vague spoiler for your current project?
For Attollo, I’d say ‘Home is where the heart is.’ For Metamorphosis, to quote John Berendt, ‘Always stick around for one more drink.’
Q7: Lastly, what advice would you give to your readers?
What advice would I give to you all? Oh my, I’m not exactly a wise woman here, but I’ll do my best to give you something lmaooo. I think what I really want you to walk away with, from both my stories and this interview, is that if you’re passionate about something, then share it with the world. Don’t let anyone deter your passion.
I remember listening to this painter once who commented to his friend how he ‘really liked painting’, and his friend’s first response was ‘but are you good at it?’. He then compared this to the scenario of walking; would you say, ‘but are you good at it?’ to someone who said, ‘I really like walking’? No, because it simply wouldn’t make sense, and it doesn’t make sense to say that to anyone who’s doing something out of passion.
To put it simply—if you love something, then don’t let anyone take that passion from you. I began writing these stories because I’m passionate about Attollo and Metamorphosis; I love each character, each bit of lore, and I share it with you because I want you all to enjoy it as well. Am I the best writer? God, no. Does everyone like what I write? Definitely not. But will I let this stop me from writing, from enjoying what I’m doing? Never, and I want you to do the same.
Explore your passions, embrace your passions, and let what makes you happy continue to do so

✧ pygmalion!au [ningguang]
notes: btw idk how commissions from museums work i just made the process up LMAO and this one's kinda angsty? i mean, it is the pygmalion greek myth so iykyk. also, i describe this figurine of ningguang here but w/o the colour... i've linked it in case any1 needs the reference. (btw, this is not set in ancient greece specifically)
Tumblr media
only yesterday had you been commissioned by an art gallery in the capital to create a piece for their up-and-coming collection titled desire, love and identity. yet here you are, slaving away to make the perfect image you had in your head come into fruition. your vision is exquisite once sketched on paper—you can't find any faults in it so you take the risk.
as soon as your chisel meets the marble, a feeling so invigorating dominates your body. no further references are necessary as you place your trust entirely on your hands, coarse from the labour. you find such mindless toil addicting and you work day and night, only stopping for a half-baked meal and the odd collapse into bed.
for months, love streams out of the tips of your fingers and through your sculpting tools to arrive at the stone figure. you sincerely hope the intimate emotion has been reached.
when you finish, you wipe the bead of sweat running down your forehead, rest the other palm on your hip and take slow steps backwards all while maintaining eye contact with the statue. a wave of sweet relief hits you and you fall to the floor, uncontrollably sobbing into tired hands that still grip the hammer and chisel.
it's beautiful.
you stagger, struggling to get up with your bruised knees while clumsily wiping the tears off your stained cheeks. setting the instruments aside, you lift your head to admire your handiwork up close. a woman made of stone sits elegantly atop an oriental chair, crossing her smooth, white legs over each other. her left elbow is propped on the arm of the chair while on the other side, a long smoking pipe is balanced between gloved fingers. around her lies an assortment of objects: a vase containing scrolls, a floor lamp, and a charmingly decorated folding screen.
you see, you had already thought it all out. you'd imagined ningguang's preferences for a life of luxury, her affinity for constructing and sprucing up interiors. she would be a master of the trades and a woman who likes to keep an air of mystery around her. and like how you increasingly project her to be more of a person than she ever will be, there is a creeping concern in the corner of your mind that you will lose your rationality just as quickly.
the sculpture's body is clad in a qipao with a slit that reveals alabaster skin below the waist. the dress—embellished with patterns and neat linings—hugs her figure and shows off a lean build. the extensive train and sleeves of the fabric are shaped curvaceously to mirror the flow of a waterfall. and her face. the section you strived so hard to refine. she stares at you with an imperious expression and a hint of a smirk. her gaze, so piercing, makes you avert your eyes in shyness but you find yourself gravitating back to her profile.
you muster up the courage to draw closer to your creation and unconsciously stroke her cheek with your thumb, captivated. if she were an empress, you'd be a common peasant—undeserving of setting your sights on such a goddess. you can feel your soul being sucked into eyes devoid of emotion—of anything, actually. after all, the woman sitting before you is not a person but an inanimate object.
the weeks following the completion of ningguang—which is the name you've picked up the habit of calling her—are spent in said lady's company. every minute of every day, you surround yourself with her presence as if she is your closest friend. you eat with her, tell her your troubles, even going so far as to decorate her with various types of jewellery and bringing her gifts you think she'd like.
"thank you," you whisper. "for always listening to me." in truth, you're always so immersed in your work that you forgot what conversations could feel like. though, you fear your art would never be on par with something so transcendent ever again.
you become curious, wondering what she would be like if the nymph in front of you were not just a figment of your imagination.
you perch yourself on top of ningguang's stone-cold lap and trace the contours of her visage. you inspect each crease on her lips and the minuscule crinkles in her eyes, applauding yourself for the well-crafted details. you don't know what possesses you but you close your eyes and press your lips against hers, hoping that once you open them, a living being would erupt from underneath the marble. but, of course, as soon as the light hits your retinas, ningguang is as unmoving as ever.
realising what you've just done, you drop off of her thighs and laugh anxiously. however, you could've sworn that you had felt warmth in the lips of your beloved muse.
"i've finally gone mad!" you cry aloud.
hell, you say to yourself, is it even possible to fall in love with such an... an artefact? you dismiss your glaringly obvious infatuation.
"nonsense," you mutter under your breath, sensing your heart breaking slightly. how can something so painfully humanlike also not be human at the same time? you must've caused a tremendous atrocity in your past life to have made the gods harbour a grudge against you. of all things, you'd never have guessed that a lifeless piece of art would be the object of your desire.
you can't bear to look at the handcrafted lady any longer and with an anguished face, cover her with a large cotton cloth. the plan was to wait until you could hand the statue over to the curators and try to ignore its existence until then.
for a few days, you act according to the plan, going about your daily routine but eventually, your stoic demeanour crumbles. you lock yourself in your room refusing to eat or believe that your affection would never be returned.
during the hours of sunlight, you weep under your sheets, drowning in self-inflicted sorrow. and at night, you do the same, lamenting over the loss of what could've been your true love. she would've been so perfect in your eyes, your other half, and the only one who could calm this growing turmoil!
the reality pains you. hence, you do the only thing you can do: you pray. you pray to the gods for a miracle, that the light of your life would stride into your room and pull you from the depths of despair... but she never does.
your last day "cohabitating" with the sculpture has arrived and for the first time in—what felt like—an eternity, you open the doors to your workshop. taking a deep breath, you unveil the stationary maiden.
it's still as beautiful as you remember.
you give it a sad smile, wanting to get its departure over and done with. you manoeuvre about the room to prepare the things for the movers who're due to come in a couple of hours. while you go down your little list of errands to be done, you cough and bat away the smoke—wait, the smoke? frantic, you spin around, eyes darting everywhere in search of its origin until they land on the smoking pipe you so intricately moulded for the commissioned piece.
it's strange, you don't recall colouring the statue. and how on earth is smoke coming out of the pipe? suspicious, you approach the motionless entity and almost stumble when you spot its chest rising.
oh lord! — i really must be descending into madness! you clutch your head, clawing at your hair in hysteria.
"stop, please don't hurt yourself." the sound of a low, worried voice penetrates your ears. you shut your eyes tight.
"no, the gods have cursed me! i mustn't listen to your poisonous words!" you exclaim. your state of agitation is alleviated when the woman caresses your tensed arm.
"what has happened to you? i haven't seen you lately either." the tone is more soft and more tender than you had imagined. you release your grip.
"is it really you, ningguang?" your voice cracks at the end, and the woman you sought after witnesses your features twist into an expression of longing and hope.
"yes, my darling. i dare not go anywhere else."
helplessly, you rush to cup her face to check for heat, for the blood traversing under her skin—anything that would prove that your sweetheart is truly alive and breathing. and when you do get the confirmation, you beam, trying to withhold tears born from elation.
you bend down to kiss ningguang, who is still seated on the chair, once, twice, and three times to rid your scepticism. oh, deities! she's real.
"i love you," you declare.
"i know." you watch as the same creases you'd etched on the corners of her eyes spread into a loving half-moon shape and you kiss her again.
you reach a conclusion: you couldn't give away your lover—let alone a live person—to be displayed as part of a museum exhibition so when the workers arrive, you hide your muse away in another room. you apologise profusely and spin a lie, rambling on about how you had nothing to relinquish for the piece you had prepared had been oh-so-viciously stolen by a mob of trespassers!
the movers share with you their sympathies and ask what the work of art looks like and maybe they could sort something out with the authorities. nodding, you recount—so ardently—the details of your divine maiden. you feel heat rush to your face, chuckling when you realise that you'd run your mouth for too long.
in response to this, the two labourers exchange dubious looks as they peer at the static sculpture standing in the middle of the studio—its appearance unmistakably matching your elaborate description.

Oh lore?? I read your post on Dainsleif and BOY it gave me a lot to think about dsfjgkd
Along the same vein, what do you think of the relationship between the unknown god and Kaenri'ah? In Albedo's trailer they seemed to reference two new elements (time and being) and if perhaps the unknown god is the god of time, then does Khemia make use of "being" in its creation of life?
In Mihoyo's other game (honkai) they introduced a new "type" about halfway through the story which seems to me to be similar to the abyss in Genshin. The quanta type is independent of the three types that were present from the beginning of the game and it's tied to an abyss style region called the Sea of Quanta. Maybe I'm reading too much into it and they don't plan to imitate what they did in Honkai but?? Time and being as new "elements" introduced a few years into the game seems possible at least?? Maybe they're exclusive to delusions bc there's only the seven Archons at this time so no one can grant time/being visions lol
Djfkdj I hope this was at least slightly understandable I love looking into lore especially for things I write about!! I'll end this now before it gets too long lmao the new tumblr asks give me too much power XD
TUMBLR DELETED MY REPLY AHHHHH I HAD TO RE-WRITE EVERYTHING. THAT’S WHY I’M LATE TO THE PARTY. I’M SO SORRY CATTY 😭
---
Major spoilers for Khaenri’ah and minor spoilers for the unknown god
:DD I’m glad you read my word vomit haha. I love talking about lore so much, ty for enabling me.
What do you think of the relationship between the unknown god and Khaenri’ah?
The logical side of my brain thinks:
They either have nothing to do with each other and Mihoyo really likes using the same star for everything and Khaenri’ah just happens to live in the void or sky so the easiest way to distinguish citizens from there is the star (or it was just hot to put star pupils in and you know what, they were right).
Or there’s some sort of connection between the Eclipse dynasty that ruined Khaenri’ah and the unknown god. Since genshin really likes to do that (see Zhongli and everyone calling him Morax before 1.1 dropped).
Re-watching the prologue cutscene and “we will be reunited” (Gonna refer to this a WWBR) Aether drew the same two stars into the sand which makes me believe that either a. stars literally have nothing to do with anything and Teyvat only knows how to draw one star (which doesn’t hold up well considering Mona’s outfit and pin) or b. there’s some kind of connection there. The way Paimon phrases her question she says:
“But when you wanted to leave and go onto the next world your path was blocked by an unknown god?”
It implies that Aether and Lumine have already travelled through Teyvat since we see two yellow stars travel over Liyue and Mondstadt. I know Aether was sent into some sort of deep sleep and only now awoke and met Paimon (since in the trailer we can see the lantern festival and the genshin upload was in march (chinese new year is in feb) but I’m not super sure on these details but I’m pretty sure it’s canon that this happened based on WWBR).
Then when the unknown god appears and the same 3 red stars appear [tumblr throws a fit when I try and upload this]
She refers to us as Outlanders and calls herself
“The sustainer of heavenly principles. The arrogation of mankind ends now.”
This could be a reference to “being” that was in the Albedo trailer while Dainsleif is “time” since time is "not something he lacks". If we’re going on the theory that Dainsleif is actually a god then maybe they are fighting? Or in some type of push and pull war. It would make sense since the Unknown God believes in heavenly principles (so the rules either set by Celestia or Gods themselves) and believes mankind is arrogant and wishes to either destroy it or remove it entirely. The complete opposite of Dainsleif who believes in mankind and hates anything relating to the Archons.
Or dainsleif has nothing to do with the unknown god and is just a final challenge to the player who will then face off against the Unknown God.
In Albedo's trailer they seemed to reference two new elements (time and being) and if perhaps the unknown god is the god of time, then does Khemia make use of "being" in its creation of life?
In this theory, this would make the Unknown God the god of time, which is also equally as valid. Since she does talk about time and how the arrogation of mankind ends now. I think it’s right to assume that Khemia makes use of being in its creation of life since we see Albedo talk about chalk and turning things from “nothing” (it’s not really nothing, he’s still using something or the “being” in order to transform it) to something.
If Dainsleif uses Khemia or even created it then taught it to the people of Khaenri’ah to help them survive in their archonless land, that could be a valid reason why he believes in the strength of mankind. Since the unknown god’s power seems to consume the person trapped within (as we see in the prologue). Plus in WWBR we see first hand how destructive that power is. This could also be the time where Dainsleif lost faith or hated the celestial beings.
---
In WWBR, according to the wiki it states that our sibling was taken to another point in time, in an unknown location. But this event leads the sibling (Lumine) to become the leader of the Abyss Order.
Tumblr media
Lumine says:
“But until the abyss has engulfed the thrones, my war with destiny will see no end.”
Lumine seems to know about the archons and the abyss mages follow her so it’s safe to assume that the “abyss” she refers to is either something entirely new or the red blocks we see here. It seems as if she’s trying to change destiny which could be why Dainsleif wants to save her.
I will say right now, I really hope the theory that Paimon is secretly the unknown god doesn’t come true. I know it’s funny and I would enjoy seeing our emergency food pull a turned table on us but unless there are more instances where it’s hinted or it’s handled really well I would not like it. I just finished a manga and I felt like I was watching 20M plot twists happen in the span of 3 pages. I would totally be okay if the unknown god and paimon were somehow related (I can understand that) but I unless it’s handed really well or as the story progresses and we get more info on paimon. it would just be really out of left field. I haven’t seen any theories on this and I honestly try and stay away from lore posts until I’ve finished mine because I feel that might make my ideas biased.
The “everything must be connected into some kind of plotline or I will make it a plotline” brain thinks:
Now, this is just be spit balling and making up my own headcanons with no lore to go off on. This is pure indulgent stuff with no research to back it up besides very loose threads.
I’d like to believe that since the Eclipse Dynasty was the last dynasty before Khaenri’ah fell. That might be what is being depicting above in WWBR. Perhaps khemia backfired or the unknown god turned against the people for their arrogance (I’m not sure if people know the myth but in short terms, a giant stole fire to help the people who were cold. He was punished for going against the gods and saving the people, this could be similar to Dainsleif).
Perhaps Lumine and Aether had stopped this event from happening and as they were about to leave, the unknown god appears and separates them for their arrogant actions against the Gods and sends Lumine back to the past. Without her brother she ended up failing in saving Khaenri’ah. Or, the image we see is actually the future and she goes back in time to try and prevent that event from occurring, still trying to beat destiny but this time in the future.
Or another idea, Lumine has only seen the evil that’s depicted and hasn’t personally met any of the archons. We actually got to meet Venti and Zhongli so we obviously want to protect them from Lumine’s point of view, that might not be the same so she aligns with the abyss order that tries to control Dvalin. So her goal is to somehow defeat the archons and that could be why the Cyro archon is trying to collect them all in her war of peace.
Honkai and quanta
It’s kinda funny but there’s no reliable wiki source for this sea of quanta like there is for genshin, or at least I couldn’t find anything. I think they might nod at certain things between the two but I think it’s totally fine to believe they might do some sort of crossover and take some inspiration. We have Mona who was able to read the stars and Scaramouche who said the sky was a giant hoax so I think time and being becoming new elements is very possible. But I don’t really know a lot about Honkai so I can’t really say too much about it haha.
---
Yep no worries, it was fun talking about some more lore and if you have any more I’d love to hear them. Haha, honestly pop off I love getting long asks. As always, it’s nice seeing you again catty 💕💕

hi you will all be listening to my info dump about the world building of my mermay au (i gotta give this au a proper name lmao)
the world was made by calliope and caliborn, but like. only as a by-product of them fighting. they used to be a single being but then when they got consciousness of their own they started fighting for dominance and from their torn flesh and discarded blood the gods were born. the gods being the troll ancestors
with them constantly fighting, the world was still shifting and changing so it was absolutely terrible for them. they're not really "gods" in the "all powerful all seeing" kinda thing. gods isn't even really the right thing to call them at all. they're just the first set of denizens that came to be and learned how to deal with the world on the fly. so now they're just really in tune with how the world works and they can tell a change'll happen from a mile away
but yeah the ancestors are the gods and tried to tough out the world constantly shifting and changin together. initially, they tried staying in one place and just constantly fortifying their little area. but with the breaks between the natural disasters barely shortening, some of them decided that maaaaybbeee looking for a less volatile area would be good
not all of them agreed on that but they decided to just split up, with the grand highblood, summoner, executor, and handmaid staying and the rest going off to find a better place to stay at. eventually, these guys were set to be known as the Land Gods
it was a toughie of a time doing that since the cherubs promordials were still fighting but at least they were kind of winding down. they left a trail of places that had the starts of a settlement but nothing too big, some a little better than the others but none of them were complete. they noticed at some point that the time between disasters were getting longer and things were settling a little more.
some of them, this time, wanted to come back to the placed they came from and maybe make some of them better. have options and just travel around now that things were lighter. maybe even visit the others to say hi and stuff. again, they got into a bit of an argument about it and decided to split up like last time. this time, it was the sufferer, dolorosa, disciple, and helmsman that stayed behind. they were eventually known as the Transient Gods
with that last split it was just the condescence, redglare, orphaner and mindfang. they just really went off to explore the rest of the world even more, see whatever that could be offered to them. and since things kept changing, even if it was less often than usual, they were able to find new things to fuck around with. it became less as a "find a place to live" for them and more "let's see what this place has in store for us". eventually, they became known as the Sea Gods
they knew Calliope and Caliborn were done with their fight when other sapient beings came to be and the shifting and changing settled down permanently. just like them they were born from the pair's flesh and blood and had little idea how to go about the world. so most of them decided "hey, we could probably teach them some cool tips and tricks to live comfortably right?" so that's how the denizens of the world came to know their 'gods'
that concludes the creation myth of my lil' mermay au. if you came this far wowzers!!! thank you yo!! i do plan on making a big fic and everything with this so you can look out for that on may hehe

WandaVision Episode 8 spoilers
Ok I heard this episode is sad so I’m prepared to cry and ruin my eyeliner.
I’m just emotionally preparing myself rq before I start I’m assuming a lots gonna go down cause the second episode is the finale.
I’m still not ready 2 minutes later lmao wait.
Okay hmm the title is called Previously On so we’re going back in time to her childhood based on the summary.
I think we’re gonna get more insight on her and Visions relationship and how it formed and hopefully get to see her relationship with her brother I’m starting now.
Ugh my TV is glitching
Okay we’re starting out in witch trials so it’s Agathas backstory the lady staring at her looks familiar. Oh it’s her mom
Her powers are blue here she’s into dark magic and the book in her basement is the stolen book from Doctor Strange im assuming she began learning dark magic from it l.
As they started to drain her. Her powers became blue and she starting to drain them back. I’m assuming the witches shared power and it was blue and now that it’s dark magic it’s purple.
Wow she killed her whole coven my draining them of their life and magic. Then she took her mother’s amulet so that’s the amulet she’s always wearing from the comics is.
She admitted her thoughts weren’t available and she was never under control.
Her accent is back because she’s angry because of her children being missing.
She possessed the fake Pietro from another universe she didn’t say he was from another universe she just said she couldn’t get to his body so she had to do possession instead of necromancy.
She picked up the fly now she’s chanting in Latin
She’s mind controlling and talking about how thousands of people can be under your control and all interact with each other with complex storylines which makes me think she wants Wanda power because she’s jealous she can do everything like transformation and mind control without having to study all the spells
“Magic on autopilot,” Dhe wants to know how she did this and she wouldn’t tell her and now she’s manipulating her with her own loneliness. She took a piece of her hair so now she has her DNA
Real reruns aka memories so she can look into them to see how she did it.
Her kids are crying out for in the basement so she’s gonna go with Agatha to save them I honestly don’t think the cries were her own.
OHHH MY GOD
All the movies her parents were going to sell were the decades and movies she did projected.
When Wanda walked into the memory she turned into her younger self,
The Dick Van Dick show is in the TV shape of the one Darcy used on the first episode so we know where she got her inspo for that one.
Everything outside makes me think this is the scene where her parents die.
The Stark bomb just hit and she’s looking around and can’t find her family yeah the Stark industry label is in front of her and she’s reverted back to Sokovian because she’s young and not the best at English yet I’m assuming.
The TV I’d still on and playing the show “At the end of the episode you realize it was all a bad dream,” I’m not sure why she said that part in English maybe because she’s referring to the show and movie nights are for English?
Agatha is asking if she used a probability hex to stop the bomb because Wanda reached her hand out towards it and that’s how she uses her powers.
Maybe Agatha is hinting towards Wanda being a natural born witch?
“So what I see here a baby witch obsessed with sitcoms and years of therapy ahead of her. Doesn’t explain your recent hijinks,”
Wanda used her powers subconsciously there and she’s probably using her powers subconsciously to keep Westview running and she used them subconsciously to get it started.
“The only way forward is back,”
She’s referring to Wanda not wanting to go back to Hydra I haven’t seen the scene yet but I’m assuming it’s because the testing was painful and because she now knows who hydra is and what it stands for.
“Don’t be scared you already lived it once,”
They have Loki’s sceptor of course im assuming they got it from SHIELD since they are SHIELD.
She didn’t have to touch the sample it just came to her on its own further proving she’s a witch but I don’t think she knows she moved it,
She touched the tesseract making the mine stone she then absorbed all its energy and passed out.
In isolation she’s watching another sitcom I just can’t figure out which it is.
I’m sure the episode on the TV is important “she hasn’t got any feeling,” maybe it’s about the Westview citizens or maybe it’s about vision being a doll or like a puppet and the brother is like “she hasn’t got any feelings” just like when Pietro or Fietro called Vision a popsicle an inanimate object
“So little orphan Wanda got up close and personal with an infinity stone that amplified what otherwise would’ve died on the vine. The broken pieces of you are adding up buttercup I have a theory but I need more,” This is probably talking about how if you don’t use your powers or learn to control them you stop having them but the infinity stone just made the powers she already had stronger. The name Scarlett Witch is starting to make sense now.
Another door another memory that I’d her watching Malcom in the middle.
She said the Avengers compound was the first home she had ever shared with Vision and with her family and country gone she felt alone so I’m assuming she’s with Vision cause he cured her loneliness.
Vision walking through the walls again she asking him to watch the sitcom with her. The sitcoms are important to her and she’s sharing them with him.
“So it is funny because of the grievous injury that man just suffered?” Vision
“No he’s not really injured,” Wanda
“How Can you be sure?”
“It’s not that kind of show,”
I think this is sort of related to the fact that nothing bad ever happens in Westview permanently like in Malcolm in the middle where the roof structure fell on the dad sure he got hurt but it wasn’t a detrimental injury.
He wants to comfort to her “The only thing that would bring me comfort is seeing him again,” Wanda about Pietro she felt the same with Vision hence why Westview is happening and why he’s back.
“I’m so tired, It’s just like this wave washing over me again and again it knocks me down and when I try stand up it just comes for me again and I can’t- it’s just gonna drown me,” How she explains her grief and depression we’re getting a glismpe of how she copes with death in her actual reality.
Vision says he’s always been alone he never experienced loss because he never had a loved one to lose.
“What is grief if not love preserving,” Okay damn Vision getting all deep.
Aww they just had a moment and now he’s laughing over the show how sweet. The awkward smile they did at eachother. How cute
Vision was dead and she wanted him back now we get to see how she stole Visions body back from her perspective.
All the news on the TV playing might not be revelant but it’s related to tamiles being reunited after the blip. So this is very shortly after the blip and some people might be right thinking it was almost directly after Tony’s funeral.
“He deserves a funeral at least I deserve it,”
They’re letting her take him probably to be able to paint her as a villain which is why Hayward cut out the first part of the footage.
She’s being shown him take apart and sawed she’s in pain seeing him practically dying again. Hayward called vision a weapon and Wanda is saying he’s not a weapon because he wasn’t and he didn’t want to be a weapon Hayward is hiding his true intentions of bringing him back to be his own weapon
“I just want to bury him. That’s all I want,”
She said she can’t do that she truly believes she can’t.
He won’t let her take $3 billion of vibranium to put in the ground she just wanted him to have a proper burial but Hayward provoked her and set her off.
She can’t feel him. A nod to how Vision said “I only feel you,” When he asked Wanda to kill him there is nothing left. She hot in the car and went to Westview she left and when she left she didn’t have Visions body.
She’s pulled up to place where she planned to grow old in with Vision and it’s been demolished this is the scene where she breaks down crying over it. And when she grieved she lets it get the best of her which is how she put the house back together without realizing she was doing it. Then that spread over the whole town and she is projected her own version of Vision. But I’m unsure if this is really Vision or not because then she’d be way more powerful than I ever believe to be able to create people own her own.
Oh wow she’s showing all the lights and it’s like she’s own set so she’s back to where Agatha had this all set up and she was the audience.
Agatha is choking the twins “I know what you are. You have no idea how dangerous you are. You’re supposed to be a myth. A being capable of spontaneous creation. and here you are using it to make breakfast for dinner.” Maybe Wanda was a prophecy before hand and she just never learned how powerful she really was and now Agatha is trying to feed off her powers I’m assuming she’s going to try to get Wanda to push her powers into her so she can drain her.
“Let go of my children,” Wanda with her accent coming back.
“Oh, yes your children and Vision and this whole little life you’ve made, this is Chaos magic Wanda. That makes you the Scarlett Witch,” Ugh yes one of those moments where they say a name of the movie or a character that’s basically it’s own movie I love it.
I’m gonna research Chaos magic and then I’ll reblog this again after I research some other things too.
End credits time. “Team is ready for launch,” They’re going to use Wanda own power to attack her using Visions actual corpse. He’s been brought back as the one thing he didn’t want to be. A weapon. I’m not sure who that was who powered it up but was it Monica’s contact?
Also doesn’t Agatha have Monica now if she was possessing Fietro? I have a lot of questions that I can’t get out right now

Smoking Weed With Abby Headcannons 🍁🍂
Tumblr media
SFW
With so many people in the WLF, you’re bound to get in contact with people that have connections
Abby heard from Manny that they’d exchange other things for pills, drugs, and alcohol
It was like a secret black market system
She tried to make it a point to stay away from them bc she wasn’t gonna start fucking around with addictive substances
And plus, the kind of people running those sorts of things are shady asf
Abby’s been to parties where zig-zags have been passed around, it’s not like she’s never been around it
That’s where she first met you
You were sitting in a smoke circle, it must have been less than 10 people or so
She saw you blowing o’s then exhaling a cloud of smoke through it
Catching her glancing at you before she turned around and started walking off
“Hey!” Abby whipped her head around, she damn near gave herself whiplash, “You’re Abigail, right?”
“Yeah,” Abby scratched the back of her neck as she looked down at her feet, “It’s Abby..”
“Well then come’re, Abby,” You blew out another puff of smoke, then you patted the empty space next to you
Abby hesitantly sitting down next to you
After you were finished, you offered the zig-zag to her
“Oh, no. I’m good..”
She didn’t know how she’d act whenever she smoked, and she didn’t want to find out with so many people there lol
“It’s fine. I respect that,” You flashed her a grin, then you passed it to the other WLF soldier sitting next to you
Abby’s eyebrows raising
She’s been peer pressured to smoke before, but to no avail
It just surprised her that you didn’t make a huge fuss about it, like other people usually do
Abby expected stoners to be lazy and dirty, but you were very classy about smoking
Making it a point to blow the smoke away from Abby
And watching as you ashed the cigarette before passing it, even if it didn’t necessarily needed to be ashed
Wanting to smoke for the first time with you, and your professional pothead experience lol
Abby not knowing whether to hold it in or to just exhale the smoke in her lungs
But before she can even think she starts coughing like there’s spores around or something
“Damn, Abs, you’re gonna fuck around and inhale it.”
She legit thought that you were joking, until she saw another WLF soldier suck the fucking roach down his throat lol
She really didn’t enjoy her first experience of smoking, she kept inhaling small bits of the doobie
But holy shit, she swore to herself that she never felt better
She only liked smoking maybe twice a day
Once before bed, and after her workouts
Surprising Abby with indica to try and help her sleep
Learning about 4:20 from the retro stoners before the apocalypse
It was like a myth lmao
Teaching Abby weed etiquette lol
Bc this chick doesn’t have any manners when it comes to this sort of thing
Abby’s kinda a bogart, but she doesn’t mean to do it on purpose
She gets so high that she forgets that she’s holding it
“Do I have to remind you that we’re smoking, or do I let the cig eventually burn your fingertips?” You turned your head to the side and smirked
Blowing Abby’s mind with your stoner slang
It’s like a whole fucking other language or something lol
“A roach..? Isn’t that a.. bug?” Or, “A cherry? It isn’t even red though..”
And omg your stoner ingenuity made her question everything
“Dammit..” Abby pinching what little was left of the roach, and trying to get another hit
You grabbed the match you used to light it, then you snapped it down the middle
But you made sure that it was still intact
“It’s called a Jefferson Airplane..” Handing her the broken match, then leaning back on the couch with the biggest shit-eating grin on your face
Abby bursting out into a fit of laughter, “Holy shit. I swear you make some of that up.”
Abby trying to learn tricks, but she can never get it right
Teaching Abby how to roll bc cigarettes were her favorite way of smoking
But this chick can roll like Willie Nelson or Snoop, swear to god lol
And watching her lick the glue on the papers before sealing the zig-zag up 👀👀
Watching her light up her creation by igniting the match on the sole of her boot was something else
Smoking together while her arm is wrapped around you
And watching you while it’s your turn like you is a snacc
Although she never admits it, she always tries to carry pre-rolls and a lighter in her backpack during assignments

im developing a lot of aus including the reverse au which is currently only available for rose, but leon also has it developed, i just forgot to put it in the verses page for him haha but wow im developing a reverse verse for a chara i dont have??? i might as well throw damos on the blog and be the only person in the pkmn rpc who plays him LMAO i cant help falling for obscure characters but i think he might have a better chance in getting interactions than my etrian odyssey muses but no if anyone wants to do damos,,,,you can hmu 😳😳 i cant reply it or see it if you do tho LMAOO
Tumblr media
anyway reverse!damos here who goes by lazarus (meaning: my god has aided me) is not a nice farmer unlike his normal verse, instead being akin to a mercenary, but he kinda fills in the role of marcus - he has the ability to manipulate the hearts of pokemon, even legendaries and because of this, he’s been fiddling with legendaries and experimenting with things to try something out - and while reverse!arceus has been severely weakened from an intense fight or a meteorite too (im still figuring it out) and lost its life plates, lazarus finds it. it’s on the brink of dying, and instead of returning the plates like a nice person, lazarus only thinks of profit and benefitting himself - because it’s so vulnerable, it manipulates reverse!phae into summoning the lake guardians, where it promptly fights them and steals their gems before kicking them into the dirt. then he uses said gems to restraint and fully take control of reverse!phae before inserting the plates back into it, saying it will only get them back if it corporates. yes, lazarus literally pulls a cyrus being the first one to actually create a draft of the red chains to have arceus under its command. one of cyrus’ pc posts is “According to myths, the Pokémon created Sinnoh with its power. However, capturing the Pokémon with a Poké Ball prevents it from using its full power... But with the Red Chain, the Pokémon can be shackled, and its power can be used without restraint...” and he’s implying arceus with the first mention of pokemon, so maybe the red chains can be used on god??? i dont see why not, although the lake guardian was made more to check the creation trio than god itself, but why wouldn’t you have checks against god? “The Pokémon of the lakes and Mt. Coronet are somehow connected. Capturing the Pokémon of the lakes will free the Pokémon of Mt. Coronet. From the Pokémon of the lakes, crystals can be extracted to create a Red Chain.” i know he implies the creation trio with pkmn of mt. coronet but technically arceus lives in mt. coronet as the hall of origins can be summoned there LEMME HAVE THIS -
originally i was going to have reverse!arceus be a completely neutral god, both in personality and how it handled things - just create life, casually, and just head out and do nothing for them - “the humans can handle their planet however they wish to. if they destroy it, they destroy it.” and i was trying to redesign it and it kept coming up as punk (more below because this is a long ass post)
Tumblr media
so i was like, aight i guess i’ll go with what my heart wants but something still didnt feel right, because punk is an expression more than just a simple fashion statement - it was created to rebel against those who tried to hold you down and mold you into who they wanted you to be. to defy the shitty standards of what’s supposedly normal. and then it all clicked when i looked at this vid
youtube
ive heard the music itself and one of my favs, but not the music video so i kinda just exploded with ideas and it really completed the punk i wanted to go with - funny thing, im a bad character designer so i scrapped the punk look and pulled a unique thing with phae’s case - legendaries and mythics are statements of unchanging, fixated ways while normal, evolvable pokemon are statements of improvement and change - growth, which is something phae is completely jealous of. gods don’t evolve; they don’t change. so i thought, why not keep its original look (i love it too much anyway and i cant think of anything better tbh for phae) to reflect that aspect but have the way it governs and behaves different? normal!phae and reverse!phae are still similar but opposite - normal being the kind, caring god and reverse being the relentless, uncaring god. both are the two most popular aspects and themes of gods and how they treat those beneath them, so i thought it worked.
Tumblr media
reverse!phae never wanted to be a god. it’s immature and uncaring on purpose to get the attention of the creator of the original one itself; to be a sign of rebel, to show that it was its own character and no one can morph it into what they want it to be. it revels in its creations screaming in pain, as nothing else entertains it so and because it empathizes with them. it sends the world into pure chaos a majority of time so no one enjoys living. seeing its creations, both human and pokemon, excel in the trials and tribulations of this hell; seeing them perform so expertly under extreme stress, how humans and pokemon can come together and defeat anythin - and rebelling in their own right and way give reverse!phae so much hope and relief. that it’ll be able to do the same. and once reverse!phae does get its creators attention, you bet it’s gonna be very angry on why it exists. it might even try to murk its creator. it’s more of a “i didn’t ask to be born so i’m gonna make it your problem” type of person, and a god prone to violence - often fighting with its own creations, like even the lake trio and the creation trio. but it checks them all every time, and it’s so hungry for an actual fight that reverse!phae can actually work for and struggle for and feel like it actually won. and that’s when lazarus comes in. that’s where lazarus comes in.
how much it hates lazarus. how much it hates lazarus. it hates everyone, but lazarus has a special kind of hatred reserved just for him. in fact, hatred isn’t the proper word to explain the intense, raw, unfiltered feelings reverse!phae has for him. on one hand, it absolutely respects the honest work he puts in to further himself, but on the other hand, being the one on the receiving end of his malicious intentions is never ideal. it has no interest in whatever petty crimes he wants to commit, but trying to take god and become it yourself? completely admirable. a fantastic way to rebel, but having to have someone chain you down and control you? reverse!phae’s worst nightmare. i’ll get into that later since this is already long enough god help me
is reverse!phae messed up? yes, severely. that’s kinda what happens when you rot alone in the depths of dark space for eons. no human nor pokemon - no, no living being can ever handle that. both normal! and reverse!phae have the same backstory, but different reactions to it. reverse!phae wants everyone to scream and lash out, it wants everyone to rebel against their origins and become their own people, even with the immense baggage on their shoulders. it wants everyone to risk death to accomplish their dreams. it laughs in everyone's faces before spitting in them. i think reverse!phae will be one of my most violent takes on a muse, if not, my most since it is god and the shit it talks can easily be proven right. it constantly berates and breaks people down into pieces. no one understands it. it hates everyone and everything it sees. it doesn’t need love and kindness, it just needs a body to break. which is untrue, because obviously its yearning for love and kindness - something its never experienced - and it’s lashing out for attention. secretly hoping someone will just hug it and all its problems away. that everything will be okay in the grand scheme of things. that it won’t have to have the unlimited stress of being a god anymore.
usually when i put my touch on muses, canon or not, they’re primarily good people with hearts of gold. even with ones less so, they’re not as intense as this. so working with that kind of character is thrilling and i’m excited to see if i can get anyone interested with it lmao- reverse!phae’s name might be nou or chali, what would be better? sorry this was such a long post!! i’ve been working on this since last night and it’s been really fun to develop like this again - i only get this kind of productive with my hyperfixations, so they’re both a blessing and a curse -  i think this is everything i have rn for the reverse au but ii’ll be going back into it

EVERHOOD: Pinocchio in Psychedelic Purgatory: the Rock Opera Adventure. OR: I walked backwards into hell, and felt euphoria as I became privvy to the Divine Truths
Hello tumblr people. I’ve been Away. I played a game recently and I wanted to talk about it.   damnit i really wanted to put pictures into this mini essay. ive been away from this garbage site for too long, i dont know how to do it lol.  ok anyway    First, I want to say to the developers and anyone else that this has quickly become one of my all time favorite games. Currently writing I have personally never felt a greater emotional attachment to an experience with a piece of software. Perhaps it is the extreme idiosyncratic nature of it, perhaps it is the deeply intriguing storyline, mostly however it is a combination of those in addition to some of the most outstanding psychedelic visuals I have ever seen, particularly in the finale sequence, and a killer soundtrack that combines many genres but focuses mostly to being as bangers as possible. I will be upfront and say this game comes with a boatload of trigger warnings, and thus the aforementioned idiosyncratic nature of it may not appeal to everyone, however I feel it necessary to indicate potential content warnings here as I would hate for people to be triggered: epilepsy is the big one, I myself have mild stutter based epilepsy and it didn't cause health problems or anything but my case is not universal. Anyway. That is a hard warning on epilepsy. I do it because The Incredibles 2 did not, lmao (that's an example of the kind of visuals that trigger me personally. An aside ) Other things include (spoilers): arachnophobia, misophonia (screeches, unsettling sounds), themes of death, immortality, suicide. Some game mechanics are not immediately intuitive and puzzles require some pretty clever but sometimes obtuse solutions. Direction is not always super clear either. People have complained of performance issues but I am leaving this review after playing the switch port, which played smoothly other than some awkwardly long loading times here and there. What I have played of PC so far runs smooth but as of writing, performance for me was fine (my pc is a lowend budget build). There is a difficulty to it. Even playing on easier modes, it can be quite unforgiving. If you're a fan of hard games (I am but I suck at them) and rhythm games (this is, uh, Not? That? Almost functions as half walking sim, half rhythm Game, dodgy shoot em up kinda feels. Truly unique gameplay I think. Constantly switches things up, too. But yes I also adore rhythm games, and yes i also do suck at those too.), half of it is that. The devs troll you with puzzles. It's truly a wild experience as it advertises, one of a kind. And yet, however.... This game wears, much like its heart,, its references, on its sleeve. If you are not into that kind of thing, you will probably be annoyed by this game. It also loves to delv into meta, as many puzzles and interactions are references to the UI of the game itself. Personally, I'm not wild about meta but I appreciate the ernestness here, so I'm willing to roll with whatever this game throws at me because every turn feels unexpected, fresh, funky, somber, and wildly intelligent, with boldly sincere ludonarrative choices, script and art direction. If you like Geno from super Mario Brothers, which, guess what, narrator here LOVES Geno from Super Mario Brothers, this is functionally the game you've always wanted that Nintendo could never make because Square has held Geno hostage in some kind of underground torture facility since 1995. Turns out they were rather right to do so, because when that puppet is out serving a higher authroity, he can be quite dangerous. Narrarively it borrows much from its sources but I would argue there's proof the writers have spent time thinking about the implications of their source materials worlds, and that reflection casts itself back to create this, experience that is wholly unique even if we know Red is Geno and "Gaster" (who was based on Uboa from Yume Nikki or princess mononokes forest spirits), and some kind of disco Marceline character who changes their identity frequently, skeleton brothers- well undead brothers, really - We have to remember in the creation and consumption of media sometimes, influences and archetypes are ever present and Everhood almost itself is a realm that would indulge in the idea of self referential material. It makes for this very Jungian experience of friendly archetypes we're familiar with, which works well with this setting of an immortal realm. Thats not to say the personalities we do meet aren't expounded upon - they are, heavily, and become uniquely their own. (Spoiler) if my theory is to be believed this world is a purgatory where people have made their own artificial vessels and as time has made them bored (though some seem to be having a good time) while typical strains of the Pinocchio myth are thrown in about questions of identity and death - and probably even more so towards Timothy Learys concept of the Ego Death, or the return to the collective soup of unconcious being. Undertale will probably always be a reccomendation even by its own reference to it so comparisons to it will be littered through here. It feels like the developers were emboldened by Toby Foxs spirit in game development (his creative energy is rather infectious) and shared many similar ideas, but this feels far more aimed towards a maturer audience (references to the things I mentioned in the trigger warning list) and focused on achieving this feeling that its predecesors have as well. Yume nikki. Lisa. Earthbound. Toby's games. super Mario rpg in its humor, Cat Soup in its psychedellic depressive vibes, all this cool indie cult classicy kinda mash up soup.  bizarre antics and then these characters who have surprising depth the further you go. It has been 6 years since Undertale came out, and the developers for Everhood have called a lot of the "what ifs" that fans of that game ask, an answer in their own game. (What if No Mercy was forced, for example? What if going against destiny is the wrong thing to do? Why is Death such a Bad Thing? etc!) And the further along you progress, the smarter the story gets, the more complex the narrative threads and characters. This game knows how to write compelling literature and that wasn't an element I expecting but god am I so glad for it. Literally my pea brain saw Red's design flipping around some frets on a streamers videocapture (shoutout to based fellow tampa native Charles White, thank you for being witty and having good taste and your Floridian comisery.) one night and went "oh i like." But the experience I got in exchange was, so, so much more than that (but the tetris effect won't let that image disappear from my eyelids quite yet haha.) I hear there are multiple endings and one requires a 3 hour long trek. I'm not done with the game at the time of reviewing. You bet your sweet ass I am going to find out the Ultimate Truth. I found a way to deal with some of the bullshit in other games, I may not be great at games but I want to see whatever imagery these guys put on screen so it compels me to seek out all the alternative routes. I am going to be following these developers projects very closely. If this is their debut, their next project will be ... ... I would hate to force expectations, like if you just made a magnum opus like this it'd be perfectly alright to retire, but I just once again want to say thank you to the developers for putting your heart on display for the world to see. I see it. I have dealt with struggles similar to the ones in the stories this game articulates about anxiety and depression, existentialism and dread, dissociation and all the heavy themes that were risky to include narratively - I'm certaintly glad you took the risks you did. May update this review as I get further along the story but yeah. Tl;dr: haha pinocchio myth done well make brain go brrr. 9.99999999999998/10. I am taking an infitisimal fraction of a point off because of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ spider in the monster maze. that thing was abhorrent, but I won't let it deter anyone else who wants to play.

EVA!!! CONGRATS ON 400!! you deserve each and every one for your absolutely amazing writing and your form&void series and your stunning gifs and your ability to make me join in on the ronnix ship LOL!!! (and i will FINALLY have time to get back to your message tonight, becaus i agree - life is well LIFE AH but ill finally answer tonight!!)
But I guess just to continue our convo in a way, with your War/God creation and my Death motif!
I guess maybe if you wish to comment on that sort of idea of taking a concept like War or Death and using it to make it almost in a sense, human (for you) and as a ‘being’ or motif (for me) just because I LOVE talking about it with you and you always have so many fascinating things to say on this topic, and I always enjoy our convos about this!! <3 congrats again my friend!! 🥺💛
Thank you so much!! ❤️ Ahhh, your compliments, I’m collapsing, this is too sweet! Hardly know what to say except I’m so glad you enjoy the content I put out there! I feel so great about being such an instigator when it comes to that Ronnix ship, lol -- they truly deserve the attention and exploration, haha. (Even when, yeah, Ron/Chuck is still the OTP for me personally!)
Ahh gods take your time, really!! Life gets life-y sometimes, it happens, it has to, and I’m happy to hear from you any time you have a moment to spare. =D
I typed up a really long reply to what you’re asking here, lol, so I’m going to put it under a cut for readability’s sake. If you want to see me ramble about Speirs, War, and using concepts like Death as a narrative device.. go right ahead and read it all. ;) It’s such an interesting conversation to have!
I really wanted to do a Speirs character study in fic-format, and I think you can't really do a character study of this man without exploring how he relates to war. I could've done this as an introspective of sorts by using the speech he gives to Blithe as a springboard, but I found it far more intriguing to have war be something he can literally interact with because it would allow me to touch the full range of his character more. The easiest way to make that work was to dive into an alternate universe in which gods can manifest in a physical sense.
I looked at a lot of old myths, but always knew that war was going to manifest as a woman. She's modeled after older gods whose scope of influence extends beyond war and also includes sexuality, beauty, justice, and even love. War can include all of these things, and the real questions to ask here are things like.. what else would you fight for if not for love, what makes war so alluring to soldiers, what do you allow to wreck you? Speirs, for all his talk of no mercy/remorse or compassion, for all the ways he is living as though he's already dead, is shown as being remarkably caring in his own way and being vastly in touch with his company and the kind of things he needs to do. He's not a cold man at all, and so I saw the opportunity for conflict with the way war manifests in his life here. There's a very human kind of interaction between Speirs and War throughout the form&void series that's just really fascinating to play with -- what do you do with a god who demands more, more, more, and doesn't always seem to care about your feelings?
My version of War is vicious, kinda petty, always down to throw hands, relentless, inconsiderate of people's feelings at times, alluring, seductive, matter-of-fact, really demanding, vaguely caring in her own way.. I think I landed at her being like a stray cat that really wants attention and will dramatically drape herself across your lap until you give it to her, but that will also forever remain a wild thing and scratch your eyes out if you treat her wrong. She's hard to love and hard to please, which is something Speirs has learned over the years but still struggles with from time to time. She is very much the thing that wrecks him, especially during/after Landsberg, and in a way TLBD turned out to be very much about him learning to let go of her. To let go of war, and find some semblance of peace after. Doesn't mean she won't be around in the rest of his life, and she'll absolutely return when he's called back to fight and will be there for him on the day he dies, but he's allowed to move forward and become more than just this War-chosen captain.
Using War in this respect allowed me to characterize Speirs more deeply, to show there's conflict with him as well, to show the reasoning behind some of his actions, etc. I love working with him as a character because he has a very interesting and complex presence in the narrative. I talked a lot more about that here!! (Basically, get me going on Speirs and you will get HOURS worth of content and characterization lmao I’m not joking.)
For you, I know you're using Death as a being who doesn't quite interact with your characters but is still a story presence.. which I found truly fitting, because you're focusing a whole lot more on the way the resistance in Europe worked and on how commonplace death was in those days. Death was an everyday reality during the war for so many, and to shift the perspective in the narrative to include Death's literal presence is such an interesting way to explore how much it permeated society/life at the time. To keep Death separate from your characters in interaction makes it an omnipresent influence they have to contend with but cannot fight, cannot reason with, and cannot ignore for long. I can't think of a better way to portray it! I mean, Speirs has the luxury of screaming himself hoarse at War and then collapsing in her arms if he feels like it.. Your characters don't get that luxury with Death at all, and it is a testament to how powerless and horrid an experience the war was for many people in Europe at the time.
Using these things as a narrative device can enhance a story and enhance the way characters are portrayed within the story. To give literal shape to concepts like War and Death somehow and have them be tangible presences in the narrative -- whether it’s a literal or a more metaphorical presence doesn’t really matter -- gives you the opportunity to really move deep on some of the issues and conflict that inevitably pops up when you’re writing about something as momentous as WW2!!

Okay, I will sort after Pokémon Generations and not Stray Kids age in this one because it feels weird to start with gen 6 for example and then change to Gen 4 xD
Also I’ll insert pictures of the starter Pokémon and their evolutions, since they are a big part of every game, but that’s it. But I'll do that in the next ask fjdjdj it won't let me add pictures here. Sometimes I might add a picture of something else as well. It’s not based on anything, it’s just the vibes I get. And I’ll sort from both, Generation and Region. Sometimes they remake an older Game in a Generation, so if this is something that influences my choice, I’ll talk about that too, but it’s mostly about the Region itself.
4 of those were pretty easy to choose while the other 4 weren’t that difficult to choose, but kinda hard to explain. I hope it’s still understandable. Also I’ll talk about the starters with their name. The fire starter will have a red name, water blue and grass green. Most of the time that’s also the color of the Pokémon as well, but if not, they have something else to them that makes it obvious if they are fire, water or grass type.
Anyways, here I go:
Chan as Kanto//Gen 1
Now obviously Chan gets the OG. The one game everything started with. The region the company adores the most.
Okay well, I didn’t choose Chan as Kanto for being the first Region, but rather because of the vibes. Just like any other Anime, Pokémon has a new Intro for every new season and the one Chan sang/listened to was the first one both times! Sure, this doesn’t say much since it’s also the most well known and probably best intro (Just saying, I like Johto, Unbeatable, I want to be a hero and the XYZ remake as well lol), but still. My other reason are the starters!
There are several pictures of Chan with anything Squirtle related. One of them even used to be my wallpaper. But Charmander as well. I’ve seen many people compare him to Charmander. Charmander who is that one Pokémon (besides Pikachu ofc) that everyone knows. Or at least his evolution Charizard. Charizard is also the Pokémon the company loves the most and in the Anime, Charizard often did his own thing, ignoring what his “Boss” told him to do. He would just casually fight back. Besides that, remember the Pokémon I showed you yesterday? Dragonite? Well, Dragonite and Charizard have the same color scheme, so that fits as well.
But now we’ll come to the rather bad things about it. So trigger warning; the hate Chan gets. Kanto being the start of everything makes Pokémon fans love and respect the region, even though it’s not their favourite. At least that’s what you’d think. Kanto is one of the most controversial regions. There are people saying everything but Kanto is shit and there are others, saying Kanto is shit for not being as balanced as newer games and for having many glitches. With Chan it’s kinda similar. Chan gets lots of hate, despite him being a great person and the one who basically created Stray Kids. But still, he gets hate simply for not being perfect, which he can’t be. I could definitely go deep here, but this is not what this is about, so I’ll move on to the next Generation now.
Seungmin as Johto//Gen 2
This one is a bit harder to explain, but it’s just the vibes I get. Seungmin reminds me a lot of end of spring/start of summer and I get the same vibes from Johto! Chikorita and its evolution line alone remind me of Seungmin. Its without a doubt thee weakest starter, not just in Johto, but overall. I chose it anyways, because it looks freaking adorable. And I was surprised. This Chikorita was the MVP of many fights, even though it should have been way weaker since it had a type disadvantage.
Johto has always been a kinda relaxing place for me. I don’t really know why, but just the whole vibe I get from Johto is relaxing. I didn’t play the original games and only half of the remakes, but I watched the anime and I remember falling in love with it. Especially with the theme song. It helped me through some rough times in my childhood, just like my brother did and Seungmin reminds me a lot of my brother.
Also, the box art legends of the game (Lugia and Ho-Oh) remind me of Seungmin because of their lore. Lugia lives underwater since it doesn’t want to disturb anyone by flapping its wings since it’s said that even if it only flaps with them one time, there will be a storm for 40 days. Ho-Oh on the other hand is a Phoenix that will only appear in front of people with a pure heart and show them its wings which will make them lucky. I honestly don’t know why, but both of these stories remind me of Seungmin. But as I said, this one was a bit harder to explain since it’s just the vibes I got.
Felix as Hoenn//Gen 3
Before I start, I love the Hoenn Games xD
Well, anyways. This one was pretty easy to choose and this is where remakes get important. Because in Generation 3, the Kanto Games were remade, which gives us a connection between Chan and Felix. But Hoenn Games were remade as well, in Generation 6, which was the Gen that REALLY got me into Pokémon. Just like Felix alongside with another member got me into Stray Kids. But of course that’s not the only reason.
Felix is that one member that gets so many people into Stray Kids with his deep voice and his visuals and just everything. And just like Felix is many peoples entrance to Stray Kids, Hoenn was the first game of many Pokémon fans. Also, Hoenn is well-known for its iconic music, just like Felix is well-known for his iconic voice. And this might be a bit of a stretch, but Hoenn games are the only games where you can dive. And first of all, being deep under the sea looks so good. But also, deep under the water? Deep voice? You get it.
I also like to think that Felix doesn’t get as much Hate. I know he still gets Hate, but luckily from what I’ve seen not as much. The same is true for Hoenn Games. There’s only one thing people don’t like, which is the amount of water in the games. But other than that, Hoenn Games are loved in the Pokémon Community, which means a lot, because the Pokémon Community is never satisfied.
I used to play the Hoenn Remakes a lot with my friends. Just like I talk a lot about Felix with my friends.
Also I might be wrong but I think Gen 3 was when people really started playing Pokémon competitively and I mean, Felix is a competitive gamer.
Hyunjin as Sinnoh//Gen 4
Ever since 2014/2015, people wanted Sinnoh back in forms of Remakes. Just like we want Hyunjin back right now. And we’ll get them. They were announced a bit earlier this year and not just once, but twice! We’ll get one of them at the end of this year and the second one in the beginning of next year.
But before I say anything else, Furret.
While it isn’t a Gen 4 Pokémon, it’s treated like one. There is a meme about the Furret walking animation until we get the remakes xD
And I don’t think I’ll have to say that a Pokémon called Furret is based on a Ferret? And that it’s fluffy and everyone wants to hug it? Okay, sorry. But despite being a Ferret, it’s also a surprisingly big Pokémon. Whenever people talk about unexpected Pokémon sizes, Furret comes up. It’s not amongst the biggest Pokémon, but it’s still hella big and I want a life-sized plush of it. Aaand I just checked, it’s roughly the size of Hyunjin lmao.
Why am I still talking about Furret? Well, the other reason why I think it fits Hyunjin is the lore! Gen 4 might be the Generation with the most lore we ever got. We were introduced into the God of Pokémon, Arceus (and before someone says he’s a bad God for being able to be caught by a 10 year old, you can’t catch him if you don’t cheat.) and the creation trio. We got to know how the Pokémon world was created, how every life was created and so on. And Hyunjin is life. Okay, I’m sorry, I’ll try to be more serious again. We also got 3 mythical Pokémon, with great myths behind them. We have the nightmare Pokémon Darkrai, which isn’t a bad guy at all. He looks like one in the spin off games, but he isn’t. He stays away from people since he can’t control his power and doesn’t want to cause people to be trapped in nightmares (some pokémon lore is really dark), which reminds me of Hyunjin who stays away a bit to not hurt anyone. Then we have Cresselia, who is the opposite of Darkrai. She makes people dream great things and is the only one to be able to save others from Darkrais Nightmares. And my best dreams feature Hyunjin. And last but not least we have Shaymin, a big Cutie and the thankful Pokémon. I’m Hyunjin very thankful and he’s thankful for Stays as well.
Also, the whole generation just feels very cozy and it’s another fan favorite.
Changbin as Unova//Gen 5
Easy choice. First of all, the games are called “Black and White” and I mean, Changbin and black? Perfect mix. Next is the fire Starter, Tepig! It’s a pig and it evolves into an even bigger wrestler pig and is therefore bulky. Also funfact, Black was my first game ever! Or more like, the game of my brother. But he let me play it and my first Pokémon ever was a Tepig I gave the name of my old cat!
Now, while it was my first Pokémon game ever, I never really played it. I mean, I played about half of it maybe? When I was a kid, but I didn’t pay attention to the story. And afterwards I only tried once playing it again, but I didn’t know where I have to go, so I stopped again quickly. And right now I just don’t feel like playing it.
However, when people now talk about the game now, they talk about it in a kinda dark way, just like people see Changbin as an intimidating person. But I remember some of the most soft and cute parts ever. Just dressing up my team and have them dance for me. Great.
And while Changbin wasn’t the one to introduce me into Stray Kids, he was the one that I felt connected to while I took a break from them. So just like I never really played Pokémon Black but always felt a close connection to it, Changbin never was my Bias nor Bias Wrecker, but I felt that connection.
Besides, the game is about ideals. We have those who follow their dreams and would do anything to pursue them and we have those who cling to the reality and give their best to make it even better. Kinda reminds me of Changbin.
Jeongin as Kalos//Gen 6
Before I say anything else, look at Fennekin who is based on a Fennec Fox. Very underrated. People hate it for the design of its evolution, but I think it’s pretty well-made. Also, competitively seen is Fennekin the best starter to choose from.
Now, Kalos is my baby. I always loved the region. It’s the game that got me into Pokémon, just like Jeongin got me into Stray Kids.
The problem people have with Gen 6 is the story, which I agree, is an important part. They scrapped a lot and left us with a big amount of unsolved mysteries. Maybe the most mysteries out of all games. However, I can excuse that. The lore we got is quite interesting and most people agree that it could have been the best story ever, based on the lore we got. Kalos was their first step into something brand new and the little things were done well. Just that one big part didn’t go well at all. It’s a small region, with not much to it and when I was new in the skz fandom, Jeongin didn’t have much either.
Also, Kalos is a beauty and cuteness based region and let’s be real here, Jeongin is a big cutie. And (it gets corny, be prepared) in Kalos they introduced Mega Evolution, which is an Evolution you can only use if you have a strong bond with your Pokémon.
Minho as Alola//Gen 7
Honestly, this was a harder one again. But I chose him for 1. Litten, the fire cat starter and 2. Because it’s a tropical region and I can see Minho laying on the beach with his sunglasses xD
The concept of this game is different. Something they haven’t done before. And while everyone in Stray Kids is different, I dare to say that Minho has something extra extra to himself.
And yea, that’s it tbh. I’m not the biggest Alola fan. It was fun and I would like to play the game again some time, but I prefer the other games by a lot.
Jisung as Galar//Gen 8
So first of all, we have 2 Pokémon lines that are based on music. Grookey being a drummer and Galarian Zigzagoon being based on the band Kiss. And Jisung is one of the Members who is a bit more connected to music in my opinion. Then, every Region had their own regional Rodent and Galar has a Squirrel! Not a Quokka sadly but look at its cheeks. Very cute.
Galar is based on the UK, where a friend of mine lives. I wanted to go there since I was like 7, but I never got to, which is why walking through the Pokémon version of the UK hit pretty close. Also, said friend reminds me a lot about Jisung. I can’t really describe why, I just think their personalities match.
That’s not much, but I honestly don’t know what else to say. These are my reasons xD
Oh wait, of course. Galar is the game that features some more of the memes in the fandom than the other games. It sometimes seems like the company doesn’t really look into the fandom since we don’t get much beta content and stuff, but them bringing the insiders in some of their games like they did in Galar shows us that they still listen! And I mean, Jisung is pretty funny, yk?
Okay yea, that’s about it. I hope that was understandable and made sense for you. Also I still wanna show you my Pokémon Plushies, but I can’t find some of them right now;-;
- 🐈
mhmm it made sense for me even tho i don't fully understand everything... you know what i mean? it's like- quite complicated but the way you describe everything is really logical!

if your still doing character thing: skekmal
Yeah I’m still willing to do these: they’re a lot of fun!
Tumblr media
Why I like them
There’s this lure about him like we know what kind of character he is, but there’s still an air of mystery to him. We get a pretty good idea what the other lords do in their day to day lives. SkekMal’s seemed way more interesting, battling against the elements and hunting whatever he could find. I really want to know the history with some of the trophies he wore. Not to mention, that unspoken relationship he had with Rek’yr. I mean they were on a name basis. As I recall, no other gelfling referred the skeksis by name, only as lord or by their title.
A lot about skekMal is so interesting. Like how there are legends surrounding him by gelfling and podlings, referring to him as “the Hunter”. How he lived off the lands instead of relying on the Crystal (at this seemingly). But his most interesting aspect is his obsession with the hunt and how it shows deeper roots into his hidden fear of death. SkekMal’s whole philosophy hunting down worthy targets and wearing their remains somehow giving him strength. Thus, keeping off death’s doorsteps. I also feel like, besides enjoying the carnage of his hunts, he’s desensitizing himself from death. The more he kills, the less he’ll fear it. This is also why he has a great distaste for the skeksis court and their way of life. SkekMal sees how much they deteriorated, becoming weaker, closer to death. How much they rely on weaker beings for resources, being pampered and drowning in useless trinkets. The endless squabbling that goes on in the court about things that in the end don’t matter. He doesn’t want to become like that. He needs to keep himself strong and get stronger. That’s why he dedicates his life to the hunt: it’s a way of self-preservation.
I’ve been thinking about skekMal wasn’t always this obsessed and that he may have had a better social life when he was younger. I’m under the assumption the skeksis are social creatures, seeing how they have their own cliques and friends. And while I think skekMal still had a similar bad attitude in his younger days, I feel like he was more mellowed out enough to have some friends. But as they got older and fears of their mortality sprung up, skekMal completely changed. He began dedicating himself to his profession, spending much longer time by himself. He grew more wild and untamable and the others began fearing him, maybe even moreso than before. No one wanted him around so they rarely summon him (and only do so under extreme circumstances). That doesn’t mean skekMal didn’t have any social contact. Despite how fiercely independent he is, he relies on the Dousan to guide him on hunts. And seeing how he and Rek’yr are on a name basis, I’m sure he has made similar connections over the years. But it’s not enough for him. I’ve read that social isolation leads to increased aggression and violence so perhaps this is why he’s so violent (and isolation probably amplified these traits).
Why I don’t
This stupid bitch is the reason why urVa had to sacrifice himself. If skekMal wasn’t such a feral bastard and maybe chill the fuck out, they’d both be alive.
Favorite episode (scene if movie)
Episode 4 is the best. Not only because he makes his debut here, but also features skekMal’s fight against Rian and Ordon. Which, in my opinion, is one of the best scenes in the series.
Favorite season/movie
I mean, AOR. I could count the book series, but he is a waaaaay different character there (even between books: he seems way different in Flames than he was in Shadows). Also he’s a by far more interesting character in AOR than in the book series.
Favorite line
“Nothing can stop the hunt!”
Favorite outfit
I do like him with the metal mask he wore briefly, but his bone mask is a LOOK.
OTP
It’s no secret that I ship MalVa. It’s the best one. You can fight me on that. I’m all about that self love!
Brotp
Talked about possible friendships he could have had in another post, but I also wanted to bring up skekSo. Like I talked about in skekSo’s post, I feel like the two would have an unspoken respect and fear of each other. SkekSo is the only one that can control the Hunter and that takes some skills considering how wild he is now. I can see that the two got into a pretty bloody fight and skekSo came out the victor, asserting his dominance over skekMal. Or he could have seen the Emperor beating skekShod to a pulp for even questioning his power and that might have gained some respect for him. Or might even be a combination of both. I also feel like out of all the other skeksis, skekMal might still see skekSo as powerful as he was in his youth and would hold him in high regard over the others.
Head Canon
The Dousan Clan heavily influenced skekMal, especially in regard to his philosophy. The Dousan already live a similar lifestyle: only living off the land and what’s provided for them. They’re nomadic and don’t have a permanent residence. Plus, they have a spiritual belief for the cycle of life and death. The skeksis fear the Dousan for this and therefore not only limit visits to them, but also are the only clan that cannot become a castle guard. I feel like all of this would at least intrigue the Hunter. The more he spends time with them, understanding their culture begins inspiring his lifestyle. When he saw that the Dousan wore bones and believed they were charms, he inherited this belief. All of his trophies are his own charms: charms that give him power.
Unpopular opinion
Every now and then I see people hypothesize that MalVa was Dark Heart, the urSkek that ultimately caused the Great Division. The Creation Myths imply that it’s SilSol, since you can tell it’s skekSil being torn from urSol. But even if they didn’t, it would suck if MalVa was the one and they both died without having that addressed. Or having it to be addressed and they’re already dead so what’s the point? Also since Dark Heart was a musician and urSol is the chanter, that’s an easier deduction. Additionally, skekSil has qualities of a musician, being able to pitch his voice and using words to sway others. Also on multiple occasions in the series he’s seen orchestrating/ordering the podling musicians. As dark and evil as skekMal is, he doesn’t hold a candle to skekSil’s own wickedness.
A wish
Seriously hoping that Rek’yr and skekMal’s relationship can be explored in the prequel series. Also flashbacks of young skekMal would be nice.
An oh-god-please-dont-ever-happen
I mean he’s already dead so… it’s already happened LMAO.
5 words to best describe them
Wild | Persevered | Bloodthirsty | Unpredictable | Ambitious
My nickname for them
Feral with variations (like bastard, bitch, asshole).

mtmte liveblog - 2012 annual
iirc the annual takes place between 7 and 8, or something. whatever, im gonna go for it
shifts in art style always throw me off phewwww
i cant remember what theyre doing but i find it really funny that first aid is there squaring the fuck up to punch shit
ah yes of course how could i forget the time they shrunk down to fight tiny robots in ultra magnus’s head. a comic classic
poor magnus lmao
HBJSDKFBSHJFDHJSD HIS TERRIFYING SMILE HAUNTS MY NIGHTMARES. LOVE IT
love the continuation of magnus’s law-vision
the fact that everyone is dunking on magnus for smiling ONCE hvbhjdksbfjks
rewind and chromedome ough
i feel like cyclonus spends 90% of his early mtmte screentime staring broodingly out of windows lmao
tg so precious
lmaooo i love the flashes of rodimus saying ‘til all are one’ All The Time
rodimus just wants to be like his dad ok
rodimus telling drift to go meditate or something vbhjfdbhdsjkf
i love rodimus calling magnus out on referring to himself in the third person lmaoooo but also I'm like Oh I See That [eyes emoji]
wish i had emojis on the computer sigh
lmao so the circle of light is a bunch of pacifists With Big Ass Swords
them betting on how long it'll take rodimus to say ‘til all are one’ vbkjsdhbfjhkhsdf
damn so ambulon rlly did switch sides late in the game
cyclonus is here!! being an emotionally closed-off fool as usual
nooo rodimus let tailgate speak
cant believe rodimus graffiti’d tailgate
drift, immediately: rodimus is FUCKING POSSSESSED
ratchet: ok, no,
godddd everything abt the galactic counsel here is so funny. ‘its big - its grey - its taxpayer funded’ hvbkjshdbfjkdf and the fact that their ship is called ‘the benign intervention’ lmaooo
also DAMN that is a BIG ASS SHIP
‘a fleshling in a stupid hat’ i love rodimus and his irrational hatred of hats
magnus comin in CLUTCH with the dry-ass clauses shit
rewind vhjbdskfbaksdfn ‘the sub-section 7 defense - sneaky’ ily
tailgate hvbhjadkfbjskdf its ok that you don't know what's going on
also tailgate serves a vital role in the story as the audience insert character (or w/e its called), bc he’s often confused which allows for handy exposition that we the audience also need lmao
i find it so interesting to see how the cybertronians are viewed by the rest of the galaxy - we don't see a lot of aliens but its always fascinating when we do, because of COURSE they’re mostly gonna think of the cybertronians as destructive and war-like when that’s what they’ve been up to for 4 million years
ooof swerve :( swerve is one of those characters who you’re like ‘haha he’s funny’ most of the time but pretty often he’ll have startling moments of like, deep pain about life or w/e, and you’re like Oh Shit and then you kinda move on, until finally the swearth arc hits and it all comes together. what I'm saying is that this is some nice building towards that
HGDSBJFKJSJBDF THERE IT IS THERE IT ISSSSSSSSSS
THE PANEL WHERE REWIND IN ALT MODE CAN FLY FOR SOME REASONNNNNN
i fucking love that shot so much. does everyone see this. rewind is a GIANT FUCKIN FLASHDRIVE and he’s hovering ominously thru the air. like, what happened to all the biz from issue 1 or w/e where his husband was roasting him for having a non-mobile altmode? if he can fucking HOVER than Actually rewind is the fucking coolest, no contest
or like, is the implication that they all teleported there (having switched to alt mode along the way i guess?) and rewind is just like, suspended in midair? bc that's what the speed bubble text implies, but it also totally looks like they're just travelling across the area and rewind can levitate
anyways. that panel has always cracked me up lmaoooo
rodimus calling the council ‘fascists’ hvbhduifbjsdjfajskf sir i love you
GODDD and there's the joke payoff from a few issues ago - rewind, facing front, hearing drift transform behind him and not only being able to tell its drift without looking, but also being able to tell that drift is upset, JUST like chromedome said he could....fucking PEAK i love that type of payoff humor
ooof and more swerve introspection. i mentioned earlier but i fucking LOVE how this series showcases the extremely wide range of reactions/coping mechanisms that everyone has towards the endless war finally being over - and swerve really nails it here: confusing peace with happiness, and assuming that everything would automatically be better after the war is over, when in reality you still have to work just as hard to build shit rather than break it
also i adore the horror of a guy who is half-embedded in the wall, his face stuck in a rictus of terror & death, waxing philosophical about how peace is about the freedom of choice, and how they should all just feel lucky to have survived...oof, that's very specifically ironic coming from you, dude
but i do love the little characterization we get here for ore, a character who is literally already dead and has so far been used as a plot device pretty exclusively, but we still get to know little things about him here, and how HE feels about the war and the current peace, etcetc. it really makes the story and characters seem believable, like every character has a story even if we don't take the time to see it
love cyclonus posing coolly
kinda love how clear it is that drifts whole hippy schtick is just a front to cover his anger, and a tool to make him seem like an approachable, upstanding autobot
drift dramatically monologuing while pointing his sword at the sky is extra funny with everyone else just staring at him doing this
cyclonus why are you grabbing at the edge of the hole you're falling into, you can LITERALLY FLY,
magnus finally getting some appreciation for being The most law abiding guy like, ever
genuinely forgot abt the whole metrotitan plot that happens here
GOD when rodimus is like BRAIN QUEST TIME and then we smash cut to them at the brain ‘six minutes later’ vhbhkudfjbjksf i live for that shit
also that would be even funnier animated which further proves that we need an mtmte/ll animated series, please, somebody,
HBDSJKFSHDJF REWIND IS SO FUCKING FUNNYYYYYY you cant even tell if he GENUINELY didn't think cyclonus could talk or if hes just being a dick but either way? comedy gold
oh i adore the flashbacks being in a different artstyle, especially one that's so retro
i love rewind being a history geek, and cyclonus passionately explaining cybertronian creation theory
HHHH i fucking LOVE the myth/lore stuff like....a lot of franchises tend not to dwell in this type of mythology, you tend to get The True Version Of Events, but this kind of explanation rocks bc it totally sounds like the kind of religious mythology that naturally develops based on a species’ progression
and drift and ratchet’s very opposing and polarizing views certainty do make for interesting perspectives, tho i feel like the story sometimes leans too much towards ratchet being ‘more correct’ bc, logic! or something idk i feel like i used to have a couple mild opinions on this but i don't remember
and its funny bc i am, irl, an atheistic medical professional who believes in science above all else - essentially just like ratchet. but i feel like the narrative portrayal skews a little more in his favor than i’d like, despite that
skids just out here being a bummer, completely unprompted. cant even blame you tho dude
hhhhhh chromedome talking abt rewind ;_;
and when he says ‘maybe there’s someone out there who can save your life, too’ and cyclonus is there....hhhh
god i fucking LOVE drift and rodimus’s entire relationship. the layers...the LAYERS!!!
OH HEY ITS THOSE ROBOTS SKIDS FOUGHT
ah, inconvenient laser time!
ok i fuckgin love how cybertronian’s brains look just like the planet cybertron. that's so fucking great
of COURSE brainstorm brought his shrink ray
truly i love the convo between ore and swerve, especially overlaid onto everyone fighting
oof, the themes and plot threads of this annual are all so nicely tied up (which is something i love abt mtmte, especially early on when the story is smaller), with swerve now choosing to disobey an order from rodimus
oh yeah, the circle of light! that's who you've been looking for this whole time basically!
and then the ending, hearing that magnus smiled (willingly!) :) i love it
rodimus’s profile says ‘finds it difficult to sit still’ bc rodimus is an adhd icon
lmao i feel like over half of my sentences in this recap - and in most of my recaps - contain ‘i love it’ or ‘i love how-’ or some variation upon that theme. I'm predictable
anyways - the annual! i love this issue. its really long which is cool and i feel like it does a lot to flesh out the setting and lore, and even the characters as well. also, as i said above, it does an excellent job telling an exciting and well-contained story, with solid story beats throughout and plot threads that emerge and get resolved all within this issue, even while leaving plenty of stuff up for future resolution. that's the Early MTMTE Special, and i adore it. tho i will say I'm glad we’ll be getting back to the regularly scheduled art style, bc this one didn't really do it for me
