But it is truly a life changing experience. #It helped my get out of a bad place in realizing how much I was hurting myself by trying to hold onto the past and regrets. #Go in as blind as you can. Sorry these are on ff.net I was into danphan before AO3 was really A Thing. Invisobang also just completed and a whole wack of new fics are also now out for your enjoyment so I suggest taking a look there too Lab Rat - Danny (as Phantom) is captured by his parents and vivisected in the lab. THE MOST iconic dp fic from this era of fandom and also the first dp fic I ever read which single-handedly got me into the fandom. I also recommend anything else by this author[sequel]

Pits - Danny is captured by Walker and thrown into the Pits to fight for his life. HANDS DOWN my all time favorite dp fic. I drew a bunch of fanart for it and never showed the author LMAO [sequel]

Real Life - A very creepy take on ghosts and the events of the show, where they're more inhuman, feral, and scary. I don't remember much about this but it's unfinished

Lopeholt - Valerie must survived the night in the third scariest place on earth. **VERY** creepy, I remember reading this in the dark and it gave me nightmares. Another top fave. I def recommend reading anything else by this author

Running to the Enemy's Arms - Danny runs away and ends up on the doorstep of the person who's dead last on his list of favorite people - Vlad. Danny/Vlad father son relationship. A fun and interesting view of what Danny's life would be like had he been the son Vlad always wanted. Incomplete but also another BIG FAVE of mine. Tolerate the first 1-2 chapters and the rest is golden

hi hello hi I need to scream for a sec but I HAVE A SHORT STORY IN A PRINT ANTHOLOGY! like a real actual physical book!!! the anthology as a whole is about resource scarcity and specifically the moment a resource runs out, and true to form I wrote a funky thing about time and grief and messy familial relationships and gardening. cuz what is there to do when something ends other than to keep maintaining your plants.

this isn't even to say you should totally buy this thing but if you do want to check it out, it's available for preorder

reading this book called “everything for everyone: an oral history of the New York commune 2052-2072” (pause for someone to say “of course you, obsessed with new york and communal living, are reading something called that”) and I’m not very far in but conceptually it whips. it’s by these two academics and it’s a faux oral history of the collapse of capitalism and the establishment of a stateless society. and the introduction is so fun because it like imagines the future lives of the authors into this future that they’ve written about, talking about how they met in the 2010s, had careers as scholars and activists into the 2050s, and how they’re facing the end of their lives in the 2070s and this book is going to be their last big project. it’s one of those things that im having to read slowly because i have a lot of feelings about it but each chapter is an interview with a different person who lived through this rebuilding in the 2050s and it’s really cool.

so like i mentioned in the tags of my previous yuri recommendations post, i haven't read a TON of yuri. but that being said! i do actually have an answer to this one!!

me and Madame Curator recently finished reading the light novel series I'm in Love with the Villainess. and while the main yuri couple of Rae and Claire are both cis, there is a SECONDARY yuri couple that actually features a trans character! i know this isn't quite what you were looking for probably, but i do highly recommend the series in general!

SPOILERS FOR VOLUME 2 OF THE LIGHT NOVELS BELOW THE BREAK

so, basically! in volume 2, it's revealed that Prince Yu Bauer isn't a prince at all. in fact, she's actually a princess! Rae's best friend, Misha Jur has had a crush on Yu for a while, so when she finds this out, she tells Rae that she doesn't care what gender Yu is and that she'll love her just the same. Misha, Rae, and Claire work with Yu to allow her to not only come out, but also transition successfully!

additionally, volume 4 features another trans character who also is able to successfully transition! i won't go too in depth with that one, since she's not part of a yuri plot line, but it's worth noting!

Intellectually, Jake knew Bryan was taking him to a leather bar, but there was a huge disconnect between the name and seeing Bryan in a leather vest and leather pants and fuck off industrial Red Wing boots outside the door of the bar.

Jake is wearing jeans, and black t-shirt. Bryan is wearing leather gloves. Jake wants to die.

Jake’s been able to skate by in relationships by being polite, the kind of boy a girl wants to take home to Mom. He doesn’t swear much at home, he never pushes a girl for more than she’s willing to give – has never much enjoyed sex at all – and cleans up after dinner. He’s good, and kind, and not very cool at all.

He shoves his hands in his pockets, but that makes him feel even less cool.

Bryan stares at him.

“Hey,” says Jake, awkwardly.

“Jesus Christ,” says Bryan. He stutters slightly on Christ, and Jake knows that’s just how he speaks and he means nothing by it, but it hits Jake harder than he should. Probably because of the leather.

“I’m taking you home,” says Bryan.

“I just got here!” says Jake. He wanted to go in. No, he did not. Well, kind of. Bryan said to show up sober, and Jake did, because he’s good at following the rules, but he might need something to get over himself to walk in.

Bryan pulls out his phone, texts someone something. Jake wonders if it’s that guy Bryan is with sort of, the one Bryan never brings around to team events but who is always in the background of his video calls and in the foreground of his photos. Jake is so curious, but he’s not sure he’s earned that information. No one on the team has.

Bryan takes Jake home in his car. The ride is quiet and Bryan is playing Johnny Cash. Jake feels moderately uncomfortable, but wildly on edge with anticipation. At a stoplight, Bryan reaches across the console and puts a hand on Jake’s thigh, high up, and leaves it there as he drives. Jake sits very still, because he doesn’t want Bryan to let go.

Jake’s been to Bryan’s house a bunch of times, an older home in the same neighborhood of Allegheny West that guys always move to because the schools are good and the roads are safe. Bryan has neither use for a school district or a car that demands gentle handling, but he’s always game to host a party or drinks or dinner.

This doesn’t feel like that. This feels like more. Jake tries not to wiggle when they pull into the driveway, but he wants Bryan to touch him and he wants to touch Bryan and maybe he wants Bryan’s guy to touch him, and that’s a new thought that makes his ears turn red, wanting more than one guy at a time.

Bryan draws his hand all the way up the seam of Jake’s jeans to his crotch. Jake sucks in a breath.

Bryan smiles at him. “It’s okay, Jakey.”

Jake’s not nervous. Or he’s nervous, but he’s also not nervous, because of everyone on the team, he’s probably safest with Bryan. Bryan is kind and sweet and he shows up for his guys and he has no quit and Jake’s liked him for years and years and known him for so long that he can’t imagine playing without him, but he’s never known Bryan like this. But he doesn’t feel unsafe at all.

Jake has been keeping one hand on the door handle and the other on his lap. Bryan unclips his seatbelt. Jake does too, but Bryan doesn’t move to get out of the car yet, so Jake stays put.

Bryan takes Jake’s hand. His leather glove is soft, not hard and cracked at all like Jake expected. It’s thin enough that Jake can feel how warm Bryan’s hand is. Jake runs his fingers against the leather, marveling. He holds Bryan’s hand up so he can see it in the dim light of the driveway.

“You like that,” says Bryan.

“Yes,” says Jake.

Bryan turns over his hand in Jake’s, palm up. Jake curls his hand around Bryan’s and presses two fingers against the leather, pushing into Bryan’s palm. Bryan wraps his fingers around his.

Jake ducks his head and kisses Bryan’s fingers. It tastes different than he thought, but he wasn’t sure what he was expecting it to taste like. He’s a hockey player, he’s put his mouth on all sorts of weird stuff, but none of it tastes like Bryan’s leather, which are supple under his mouth, and soft against his lips.

It honestly tastes expensive. Jake doesn’t really know how to describe it other than that. He experimentally sucks on the tip of a finger, the leather in his mouth feeling both dead and alive.

Bryan makes a choked-off noise. “Inside,” he says, pulling his hand away from Jake. Jake tries not to make a soft sound about it, but fails. He watches as Bryan visibly makes himself take a breath and slow down, burying whatever bullet-like attraction had just hit him until he could be calm again.

God, he’s so cool. Jake wishes he were half as cool. He’s literally wearing a t-shirt.

Bryan puts a hand on Jake’s jaw. Jake stares at him. 

Bryan rubs Jake’s cheekbone with his thumb. “You have no idea,” he says, “how–how you make people feel.”

Jake does not, or did not, but maybe he’s starting to get an idea of it now, the way Bryan is visibly pulling himself back, forcing himself to take it slow, forcing himself to be patient for Jake. He wants to make it good for Jake and that makes Jake hot all over.

Bryan pulls his head down and kisses him very gently on the brow. “You’ll know soon,” he says. “Come.”

Do you read manga? If you do, what's your top 5 favourite and can this person give a recommendation?

i rarely read manga cause i read from my phone and manga specifcially is a bit hard on my eyes due to text size... but i will always recommend Ajin: Demi-human, re-read and finished it some time ago and it's still so dear to my heart <3 and i've finished The Night Beyond the Tricornered Window back when anime was airing due to. fansubbing the anime. i remember enjoying it but i don't remember any specifics other than having fun so take it with a grain of salt :"3c
