so I watched to folklore: long pond studio sessions tonight and i just, hearing her talking abt each song and what it mean and how it was created, it just idk impacted me on such a deep level, and also hearing her preforming each song and seeing all the emotions on her face as she preformed each song was just such a surreal thing to watch, and I think also bc they were talking abt the lyrics i really listened to the lyrics and idk kinda thought abt them and what they mean to me a bit more, and the way she was talking abt and explaining some of the songs like that shit hit so hard in particular mad women, this is me trying, my tears ricochet and epiphany,

That hands down goes to the murder of their mother. They had been in another room when their mother was attacked. Unbeknownst to them, she had been just barely been fending off the attacker when they had entered, only hearing unusual sounds. It was this chance that got their mother stabbed and she remained standing to keep this intruder from harming her child. They were forced to retreat when someone else was heard to be arriving. Eriskyne was with her for last moments being held by her bloody form with her laments and hopes for their future. This incident was the end of their innocence, their family and their life in the mortal realm. It was also the beginning of their life for revenge and more formal intro to their father. As for who knows about it, well that'd be the one that ordered the murder, Seoras, after Jocasta refused for Eriskyne to leave to the Seelie. He didn't physically do the deed but Eriskyne isn't foolish and Seoras didn't fight hard to conceal it from them, seeing it as a nothing to do with their kind.

As a child, Eriskyne had exclaimed that they'd be an 'intellectual.' They wanted to attend the parlors to be able to participate in realizations and discoveries that were abound. For some reference, Eriskyne was born and grew up during the Scottish Enlightenment. Their current residence (next to their childhood one) is in Edinburgh, a major hub for philosophy, natural sciences, chemistry, and mathematics at the time. It was the educational opportunities that had brought their mother to this place and she taught all those things in their household. They were a very bright child that really wanted to know more. They couldn't decide what to specialize in but by today's standards, their goal is essentially to be a 'Renaissance Man.' As for if Eriskyne did...arguably they did. It just wasn't in the fields they thought. They are very multi-talented but it wasn't for the sake of knowledge like they had set out for as a kid. It's for essentially espionage and politics.

Remove the threat. Like you would think for the guile that they have learned, it's removing themselves. But also consider that they are the one sent to deal with problems. Eriskyne can't really think in removing themselves unless it was finding another thing or person to help them neutralize what is standing there. Not to say that they'd take out someone directly, but they would likely not end their night until the problem is dealt with.
