I have an important question, what's your favorite type of frog?
Ooooooooo that's a tough choice for me, but I have 2 favourite frogs for different reasons, but love equally as much!
First is Amazon Milk Frogs! I love the brown and bluish patterns on them and they got blue mouths and feets! Very cute and pleasant looking fellows! And pretty gold eyes to contrast, they're even called Mission Golden-Eyed Tree Frogs with them eyes!
And secondly for an all round fellow, I love Desert Rain Frogs!
Pudgy, round, angy, and the squeak is legendary. They are perfectly shaped and full of rage and just want some rain in their lives. A top tier frog if ever there was one! Must hold like a hamburger oh so gently
And not technically a real frog, but equally as important to add to the list, a good bubble boy, and my first choice starter in Pokemon X, Froakie!!
Would spoil each of these dudes rotten if given the chance to with no hesitation XD

Amazon Milk Frog
AKA Mission Golden-Eyed Tree Frog, Blue Milk Frog, Trachycephalus resinifictrix
A buddy from the Amazon rainforest!
These zebra-y buddies produce milk when stressed, and are on the large side, getting up to 4 inches! They often live in vegetation sitting above water, such as a tree with branches over a river.
They have blue blood, and you can see some blue when they open their mouths! So regal!

Elegant Dancing Frog: They’re named after their peculiar method which they use to show off for breeding. On top of calling and showing off their bright white vocal sac, males will kick and stomp their hind legs to impress females. Sometimes, they even fight each other by doing this! Here’s a video of some unidentified members of the Micrixalus genus doing this. M. elegans specifically was once suspected to be extinct, until their rediscovery in 2010 along the fast-flowing streams of Western India.
Amazon Milk Frog: This species’ most common name is after their ability to secrete a milky white fluid when stressed. Another common name, the blue milk frog, is a clear reference to the bright blue inside of their mouths and the tint lent to their skin from their blue blood. Although they’re often kept in captivity, in the wild they’re entirely arboreal except for when they descend to lay their eggs in tree holes filled with water.

The Mission golden-eyed tree frog or Amazon milk frog
This frog gets its name from the toxic milky liquid it secretes from its skin.

Meal worms are not forbidden fruit!
But, misinformation is really hard to combat. Meal worms have been long thought to be "bad" as feeders, they are too high in chitin, they can cause impaction, and I've even heard they're not nutritious 🤦. In the past decade there has been research that has shown that mealworms have less chitin (by dry weight) than banded crickets. They also have decent nutritional value. Unfortunately even vets can fall victim to misinformation. Unless they keep up on the latest research on feeder insects they too can continue to repeat misinformation.
The best sorry for your frog is a varied diet. Crickets, meal worms, king worms, super worms, wax worms, roaches, earth worms and black soldier fly larvae are all good options to vary the diet of your frog.
Variety is the spice of life 🦗🪳🐛🪱
*this post is mainly in regards to White's Tree frogs and Amazon Milk frogs (since those are the frogs I keep), but many pet frogs do have a similar diet. Make sure you know the proper nutritional needs of your frog's species.
