the flip side (m. schmidt x reader x w. afton)
note: remember that mike fic i wrote where i mentioned his voyeurism kink? here we go.
pairing: mike schmidt x reader x steve raglan / william afton
tags: bondage/restraints (both m/f receiving), gagging (m receiving), cuckolding/voyeurism, doggy style, spanking, dubcon, dom!william, sub!reader + mike
Tumblr media
mike awoke to a low whistling sound. the last thing he remembers is dreaming the same dream he's been having his entire life, except this time, instead of ghost children leaving cryptic messages for him, all he could hear was your voice in the distance crying out to him for help. when his eyes opened and he gained consciousness, he found himself in a nightmare beyond anything he's ever experienced in his sleep before.
it was you, blindfolded, completely stripped nude and handcuffed, laying on your stomach on an old mattress on the floor. he seemed to be in a dark basement. before he could think he tried to call out your name and lunge himself towards you, but he was halted realizing he was gagged by a cloth and restrained around his chest and wrists. he was completely powerless.
"ah, good," a cheery, oddly familiar voice calls, "you're finally awake."
steve raglan, his fucking job counsellor, steps into his line of vision. "we almost got started without you."
mike wanted to demand what the hell was going on, but he can only punctuate it by wriggling aggressively in his restraints. steve only laughs at his helplessness.
"you just couldn't leave it alone, could you?" steve asks rhetorically, and mike had no idea what he's referring to, but he has an inkling it has to do with freddy's, because what else could this be about? "so i decided to take something from you." he gestures toward you. your eyes are squeezed shut with tears rolling down your face. mike looks at you pitifully. he hates to see you cry, especially now that he can't do anything about it.
"as you may have guessed by now," steve rambles on, starting to unbutton his shirt and strip himself from his trousers, "i'm going to use your little girlfriend, and you're going to watch. completely powerless to stop it."
you begin to sob. "no...! please, don't..."
"shut the fuck up!" steve's tone switches so easily. he walks over to you and grabs you by your cheeks and bends down to your level, whispering something mike can't hear, but you obviously don't like the sound of it as more tears run down your face.
steve turns to address mike again. "now, any preferred positions?"
mike only blinks. did he really just fucking ask him that?
"oh, wait!" steve laughs, like him being gagged and unable to answer is the funniest thing in the world.
"she sure is gorgeous. you picked a good one," steve comments, making mike's blood boil. no one should call you that, only him. "let's see... what about you, princess?"
you sniff. "just... get it over with." mike's heart breaks slightly at your lack of resistance, but he understands that steve is probably going to kill you if you don't submit to him.
steve frowns. "well that's no fun."
he walks around the mattress, observing you, while you bury your face into the cushiony surface, embarrassed. "i think i'll make this easy for you two. i'll just take you from behind, sweet girl."
"mmph!" mike cries out against the cloth. he's violently rattling against the restraints, desperate to break free.
steve just chuckles at his futile attempt. "don't hurt yourself, kid."
he kneels down on the mattress and adjusts you to his liking: bent on your stomach so your ass is in the air. steve immediately sticks his cock inside of you and doesn't even give you a grace period to adjust.
something inside mike's stomach stirs. it's a... pleasurable feeling. but one he can't relieve, so it's even more so frustrating.
you cry out loudly. grasping desperately at the fabric of the mattress but your grip keeps coming loose due to the rough physicality of which steve is handling you in.
"please!" you practically scream. "please, i can't take it!"
steve just laughs, almost evilly. "you hear that mike? hear your girl beggin' for me?"
mike lets out a grunt. he can feel his pants tightening. as much as he hates to admit it, he's getting aroused off of this.
the room is filled with the noises of skin slapping, steve's grunts and groans paired with incessant moaning. it was all overwhelming to mike. he shut his eyes, trying to block off the tirade of steve's praises — his 'good girl's, 'yes baby's, 'take it for daddy's, and so on — and tries to focus on the noises tumbling uncontrollably from your mouth. he starts bucking his hips to create friction by rubbing his dick against the fabric of his pants.
mike doesn't realize it but muffled, quiet whimpering noises are coming from him. however, steve notices.
"oh, you sick fuck. you like that, huh? like watching a stranger fucking your girlfriend, huh?" steve asks with a wide smile on his face. then he grips you by your hair so you can look at him. "look at him, sweetheart. see how pathetic he is? he's getting off to this."
fuck, your eyes. mike comes from that alone. he stops bucking his hips and just watches you listlessly, in true post-orgasm-clarity fashion. steve's grunts grow louder and more ravenous, until he eventually reaches his own orgasm. he pulls out of you and spills his seed all over your lower body. steve sits down on his knees at the edge of the mattress while you lay there, crying and shaking.
"i might have to keep you two," he says, wiping the sweat from his forehead.

✷ ITOSHI RIN x reader. fluff, reader is a menace and rin just can't get enough of it. warnings: pointless drabbles = my fav note: i miiiisss writing on here ! sorry if there's typos. love y'all mwah
"ugh, this lipstick is too bold. i think a simple lipliner and some red gloss will be better."
"that's literally what i suggested earlier, but okay."
you let out a quiet and playful huff at the sound of his voice from the open bathroom, while looking through your makeup for that specific shade of brown lip liner between all the multiple nude, red, and other coloured ones. your look was entirely complete, except for your lips. it was frustrating. "okay, i admit i was being a smartass at first—"
"you're always being a smartass, though."
"and since when did my husband become so sassy?" you retort quickly as you scoff, giving him a look.
"...just saying." he shrugs while his eyes casually wander down your face and figure from the door frame of the bathroom. after all these years, he still thinks he's being sneaky while looking at you as if you're his air. you hold back a smile at the obviousness of it all, continuing to search for that stupid lip liner.
then you smell the familiar cologne and feel his warmth against your back as he exits the bathroom and stands behind you, his deadpan expression from the reflection in the mirror making you feel butterflies because you're the only one who knew what he was thinking. in fact, you even knew that he'd think carefully before finally speaking quietly in your ear, his voice being sweet like honey.
"you look stunning."
"thank you, rin." you flash him a cheeky smile after you find your lipliner, and he hands you a make up wipe from one of the compartments as if it was a piece of cake to remember where all your specific make up and skincare products were.
so as you wipe off the lipstick you currently regret wearing, his warm hands find their home on your hips, squeezing gently as he rests his chin on your shoulder and observes in the mirror how you wipe your lips and begin outlining them with a brown pencil. those sharp and calculating teal eyes of his looked at your lips with great interest. from your cupid's bow to the feeling of your lips against his that he could never forget— he adored it all.
however, as you accidentally get a little too much of your berry colored lip gloss on and make a noise of frustration, he instantly handed you another make up wipe. what a sweet husband.
but when you refuse it, the confusion on his calm face is enough to make you chuckle in amusement.
"keep the make up wipe for yourself." you speak quietly, staring at him as you turn around to face him and wrap your arms loosely around his neck, your heels making it way easier for you to be face to face with him.
he gives you a very lost look.
"why would i need a—"
he knows why, even before he finishes that sentence of his. it's not like he wanted to complete it anyway. he'd die a million times to have you interrupt his sentences with your lips on him.
your targets are familiar. first his lips, then his left cheek, right cheek— chin and forehead. his pale skin was now covered in shiny red lip prints.
oh, and did he mention that he'd die a million times (once again) to see the smile on your face that you offer him after those kisses?
"it's fine now. got rid of the excess. that make up wipe is yours to use, honey." you say with a soft snicker, patting his chest lightly as you grab your purse and go downstairs, leaving him in your shared bedroom with your lip gloss all over his face and a pounding heart inside his ribcage.
rin sighs, fighting the urge to smile as he pinches the bridge of his nose, a soft groan escaping his lips as he stands there for a moment, his knees weak and heart racing from what just happened.
he stares at the make up wipe in his hand for a moment, cursing under his breath as he wipes the gloss off his skin.
you win for now. he'll get you back some other day.

Luck Be a Lady closes out the night for you with cheers and claps and whistles from patrons who think that your performance is something special, uniquely for them, like it's not something you do every night (except Tuesdays) without fail. Same songs, same accompaniments, just different faces in the crowd. All but one. Although, technically John isn't in the crowd amongst his skeezy patrons, he's holed away up in a VIP booth which no one can access apart from him, listening to you sing over a bourbon from a bottle that probably cost more than your rent.
Tonight has been a more tiring one. You can already feel your throat getting tickly and sinuses getting blocked, no doubt a nasty cold coming in. The constantly changing sleep schedule and cold winter banished to he outside of the oddly cosy casino probably don't help matters, either. Upon slipping backstage, you can't help but yearn for a hoodie and some sweats, maybe some fuzzy bedsocks and a pint of ice cream to top it all off, but no luck when the stage manager gives you a quiet "Boss wants to see you."
"John." You acknowledge upon walking into his lavish office, all dark stained wood and buttery leather, plopping yourself down on the chair opposite his own - and regretting it instantly at the way it only increases your desperation to curl up and sleep somewhere warm tenfold. "Bird." Your boss coos back, already taking the initiative to flick on the kettle for you, make you something comforting. "Chamomile or green?" "Chamomile, please." You hum in response, letting your chin rest in the crook of your palm as you weakly attempt to stifle a yawn.
You nurse the sturdy mug between your palms when it's handed to you, revelling in the peace and quiet of Johns office, far from prying eyes and too loud noise, all whilst he pours himself another bourbon and settles in his own high backed office chair.
"You sang beautifully tonight." Johns voice is a low rumble that settles in your bones and warms you from the inside out. "You sing beautifully every night, but tonight you sounded especially lovely."
"Thank you, sir." The mug of tea is warm in your hands as you curl a little further in on yourself, letting your lashes flutter shut against your cheeks for just a blissful moment. "John." He corrects with an almost encouraging sternness which has a small smile pulling at the corners of your lips. "Thank you, John."
"You mentioned changing the setlist last week." The nonchalant observation of your boss has your eyes opening, meeting his eyes so blue that you'd happily drown in them. "Don't look so nervous, Bird. You're the singer, I trust your judgement. Tell me more."
"I just think that - we tend to get repeat customers, right? The regulars who come most nights." John gives an encouraging nod, inviting you to continue as he takes a sip of the golden liquor swirling in his crystal glass. "We do the same setlist almost every night, and I just thought that maybe it'd be a good idea to switch it up from time to time - keep things fresh, keep the customers coming in."
"I'm listening."
"Obviously we keep in some of the classics - the signatures; Luck Be a Lady, Art Deco, Summertime. But maybe we could also do some other stuff too?"
"Like?"
At that you give a little noncommittal shrug, taking a sip of your own drink, inhaling the deliciously fragrant steam. It only lulls you deeper into your tiredness, your longing for a hot bath and the comfort of your bed.
"Fleetwood Mac, Nina Simone, Duran Duran. Stuff that people are familiar with, y'know?" "You've spoken with the band about this?" "Mhm." "Write me up a setlist and I'll sort it."
John gives you an affectionate smile as he withdraws a cigar from the leather case on his desk, a lighter appearing between his fingers not a second later.
"You mind, Bird?" "S' no bother." "You take the underground home, that right?" "Yes, Sir." "John, Bird."
You huff out a quiet little laugh at his insistence, but give him a slow, understanding nod as you sip away at your tea, letting it soothe the irritation in your throat and warm your bones.
"I'll have a car take you home." "Sorry?"
Your obvious confusion has a smirk pulling at the corners of Johns mouth, the sides of his eyes crinkling at the sides. His hand finds yours, giving it a gentle squeeze, affectionate.
"You're cold and it's snowing out. I won't have my Songbird getting sick. What kind of a man would that make me, hm?" "I have a coat - I can always take a cab." "Or you could just let me look after you."
After a few minutes of contemplation, weighing up the thought of walking the half hour to the tube station in shoes very much not made for this weather, or giving in and letting your very attractive employer get you home safe, you give a little nod, a tired, grateful smile angled his way. Wordlessly, John leans back in his imposing chair, legs opening slightly, one hand keeping his cigar between his teeth whilst the other pats the top of his thigh in a silent invitation. It's a tactical choice on his part, a gesture which you can easily ignore, or take him up on.
The sound of your shoes tapping across the floor hits you before your actions do, and yet you can't help but sag into the warmth of his lap, curl into the hand he places so carefully on your cheekbone like a contented cat. John replaces his cigar on the pretty glass ashtray in order to pick up his bourbon, raising it to your parted lips, tipping it gently back, letting the honey coloured alcohol warm your tongue.
"My grandma used to say that Whiskey cured colds." He hums, running his fingers through your hair with gentle reverence, happy to see you relax into the comfort he's wanted to provide you with for so long.
"People also used to say that lead made for good foundation." You quip back affectionately, yawning as you lean back into his touch, letting your head rest on his suited shoulder.
"Very funny, Bird."

I don't speak music at all, that's the one part of education that always eluded me, despite several deliberate attempts. But I do vaguely remember the (rather unsuccessful) attempts to teach me the piano and the bonding time it was with my Dad. So here's a little thing about Uncle Scott, the piano and a little someone, who's struggling with practice. It's set in a future timeline, where absolutely nothing hurts. Virgil gets to walk in at the very end.
PIANO PRACTICE
Over the years, it had become a well-established and dearly welcome staple of his working hours at the desk - the soft paino music filling the lounge and soaring up to the library balcony, soothing and clearing his mind, usually, while he reviewed stockmarket numbers or filed IR reports for the GDF. This day was no different. Except the familiar notes of "Für Elise" stammered and halted on each try, mostly due to the fact the figures playing them were so small and not yet as well-practiced (virtuoso, the word was virtuoso) as his brother's. That would come in time, no doubt.
A piano key let out a helpless keen as a tiny fist bumped it a little too hard in frustration, as if giving Beethoven a Tracy fix. Scott smiled to himself, saved a file and decided it was high time for a little break. With that he stepped from the desk and closer to the piano. Huge brown eyes were looking up at him, close to tears, brows pinched in a too familiar frown.
"I can't play right, Uncle Scott! Ugh!"
He lowered himself carefully on the edge of the piano bench next to the exasperated six year old, trying his best to appear serious.
"Would you show me what the problem is, sweetie? Maybe we can work it out?"
Chocolate eyes went saucer wide.
"You can play, Uncle Scott?!"
He had to chuckle at that.
"Nowhere as good as your Daddy can. And not as good as you do. But I'll see what I can do. Show me!"
As much as their Mom once did with Scott, Virgil long had given up trying to keep Jeffy* Jr. seated long enough for piano lessons. And little Scarlett was more interested in following her brother into the breakneck adventures of the day (many of which were responsible for Scott's more recent streaks of grey). Virgil had something to mutter about apples and trees on the subject. But his own eldest - Lucy* - was quite obviously a natural. Attentive, persistent and perceptive with sound from a very early age. And sometimes too hard on herself.
Tiny fingers were striking the keys quite deftly, but there were still hitches. Scott shifted his posture to face the keyboard and offered his left hand to provide the span. Virgil's eyes on his little daughter's face shot up in awe and a bit of indignation.
"I's not fair, Uncle Scott! Your hands are HUGE!"
There was a dramatic gesture to illustrate just how huge. Scott was openly laughing at that point.
"Good! You can rely on me, because I'm bigger, for now. Your teeny tiny left hand can rest, and your right hand can practice. Don't think about it, just follow what feels right. I've got you!"
"Okay. Thank you, Uncle Scott!"
He was rewarded with a kiss on the cheek and the music resumed.
Virgil debated interrupting the impromptu music lesson, as he was about to enter the lounge from the hangars, but thought better of it. They'd work on Lucy's technique later, after dinner, maybe, once the stampeding hordes of kids (and some of their parents) were pacified and settled for the evening. For the moment, a holo recording was sent to the family group chats. One to the chat for "Things Scott doesn't need to know and worry about". Another one to the kids' chat, because Jeffy and Skye could always use fresh blackmail material on their Dad as well as extra reasons to adore him.
---------------
** I have this bosom headcanon, that (once Scott gets into a headspace to perceive a happy future for himself) Scott and Virgil have a pact - whoever has a son first, gets "Jeff", whoever has a daughter first, gets "Lucy".

Ao3 | [Hug11][Hug13] | Hugs for a Vampire Masterlist
Tumblr media
Finally, you’ve made it. Baldur’s Gate– it looks so beautiful in the bright, golden sunlight of the Sword Coast. Your heart swells with joy at the sights, sounds. Somehow, even the various city smells, which might have normally left your nose wrinkling in disgust, are calling you forward.
You turn toward your companions, each Baldurian, each with vastly different experiences of the city. It shows in how they enter it now. Shadowheart has a look of vague recognition on her face, as if she’s piecing together each part of the city into a map she’s not quite familiar with. Karlach’s entire face is lit up, much like when you stumbled upon the circus. You strongly suspect that if she weren’t attached to you all at the hips, she’d have run off into a crowd or tavern to just relish the feeling of being surrounded by people. As for Astarion…
When you finally take in his expression, a lump forms in your throat. His eyes are wide, sweeping across the city in wonder. His expression is so open and vulnerable, you hesitate to break it, yet you can’t pull your gaze away from him. Of course, he notices your staring.
"Gods,” he breathes out, continuing to look around you, past you to the full expanse of the city. You might not have even registered that he was speaking to you except for his occasional glance back at you. “This is the first time in two hundred years that I've seen these streets in the sunlight. You can forget just how much color there is in the world."
The vampire may be speaking to you, but his voice is realms away, the memories of another lifetime, another man unable to hide in the blinding daylight. You’re torn, because he seems to genuinely delight in the colors of the city– however, the underlying sorrow, the wistful regret is unmistakable. For the first time since you’ve learned of Cazador’s profane ritual, you contemplate if any price is too grand to pay for this man’s happiness.
You shoo the thought away as quickly as it comes. There are other ways. There have to be other ways. Instead, you intend to pull him out of this reverie, asking him softly, “Are you alright?”
His reaction is swift, knee-jerk, “Yes, of course.” The moment passes as he adopts an annoyed tone, “ Obviously. Sorry, did you want something?” Again his defensive wall is up, a flippant attitude paving over the subtle cracks of weakness.
You try not to let it bother you, you really do. You remind yourself that a lot of this is new to him, and that which isn’t new comes with a slew of horribly familiar memories. But it still pricks at you, a dull ache blossoms in your chest as you take a shuddering breath. “No, sorry for asking.” The words come out clipped, hurt despite yourself.
As you move to continue onward, you feel the chill of Astarion’s fingers wrapping around your wrist. His eyes are now entirely trained on you, only a smidge of annoyance left as he whispers, “Darling, you don’t constantly need to ask me if I'm alright. I'll have you know, I'm a perfectly grown adult vampire.”
Resisting the urge to turn toward him, to bury yourself in his chest and apologize– for what you’re not entirely sure– you opt instead to whisper back over your shoulder, “I know, but I can't help caring. You know that.”
He produces a small sigh, looks to see both of your companions are distracted by a nearby stall, and smoothly snakes both of his arms around you. Pressing his chest into your back, he leans in to whisper your name in an exhale. “Darling, don’t take this the wrong way, but you are utterly insufferable.”
“I don’t know how else to take that,” you state dryly, continuing to stare forward and cursing your heart for its excited palpitations.
“A term of endearment perhaps?” he questions into your hair. Holding you a bit tighter, he continues, “I… apologize for not appreciating your concern.” The word ‘apologize’ sounds like another language on his leaden tongue, but he manages through it. Much like the time he thanked you, the discomfort is palpable.
Something about it placates your heart, and you grip his arms to your stomach in a loving squeeze. “Thank you. And,” you hesitate, looking down at your linked arms, wondering how you will stand up to this man when push comes to shove. “I’m sorry for pressuring you. I know you’re perfectly capable on your own, I promise.”
He gives a laugh, an airy, happy thing. “Oh, I know, my sweet. You certainly task me with enough grueling work to remind me of that fact daily.”
You nudge him in half-hearted annoyance, but the carefree rhythm to his voice has you smiling to yourself. “If you don’t want more to do, then let go of me. I think Karlach might accidentally set the Stormshore Tabernacle ablaze if we leave her alone too long.”
Astarion releases you with a retort, “It’s made of stone, dear. How in the hells would she manage that?”
“I, for one, would not like to find out,” you say, pulling on one of Astarion’s arms as you chase after your other companions.
With all of the practiced dexterity of a rogue, his arm slips out of your hand, only to be replaced by his hand. You’re a bit surprised, but the feel of his cool palm, his long fingers, is anything but unwelcome. As if it’s the most natural thing in the world, your love intertwines your fingers in his and walks through the city of Baldur’s Gate by your side.
Again, the thought strikes you: what wouldn’t I do for this man’s happiness? You’re left with that burning question unanswered as you catch up with Shadowheart and Karlach.
“Okay everyone, let’s head to the Elfsong. I promised Alfira we’d meet her there. And maybe we can find a few rooms to hole up in while we save the Coast.” You receive a few nods as a response, a gentle squeeze of your hand from Astarion. Your heart is heavy with the number of tasks ahead of you, with the decisions that you’ve yet to make, but hearing Karlach’s occasional happy giggle, seeing Shadowheart’s head bob this way and that, feeling the soft pressure of Astarion’s hand in yours– you’re reminded to stay steady on your path, one foot following another.

"Jaune Gets A Gun AU - Day 2" Titanfall 2 - Various (Pt1)
Inspired by @howlingday's RU-JA-GUN-CON
????/????: Customers! Welcome!
Tumblr media
Jaune: Eh?
????: Ignore Droz... I'm Davis thank you for coming over.
Droz: and Welcome to the 6-4!
Davis: We're not the 6-4 anymore.
Droz: Once 6-4 always 6-4
Pyrrha: Are we interrupting something? We can always come ba...
Droz/Davis: NO! Please stay...
Davis: We have guns... because we're at a gun show, obviously... hehe.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pyrrha/Ruby/Jaune: (Thinking) Okay... if we slowly walk away...
Tumblr media
Tiny Tina: (Thinking) Oh, these guys seem like fun!
Jaune: Alright. I'm looking for a ranged option, I mostly use a Sword and Shield...
Ruby: It needs to be easily maintained...
Pyrrha: Simple to operate...
Tiny Tina: And blows things up!
Pyrrha/Ruby: What? No!
Droz: Well, we have these...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tiny Tina: And these blow things up?
Droz: Some of the best Anti-Titan weapons we have... the Mag Launcher fires Magnetic Grenades. Great for landing hits on Spectres, Titans, or anything that magnets can be drawn to.
Jaune: Grimm aren't really magnetic...
Droz/Davis: Grimm?
Ruby: Yeah, Grimm. Enemy of human and faunus kind? Sound familiar?
Droz: (Whispering) Where are we again?
Davis: (Whispering) Rembrant... no, that's not it... Remnant.
Jaune: You know we can hear you.
Droz: Sorry, you travel as much as we do, and all the jump locations start kind of blurring together.
Jaune: What about the rocket launcher.
Davis: The Archer. Great fire and forget weapon.
Jaune: That would work for me...
Pyrrha: Jaune, you get one shot, and then have to reload... and let me guess it locks onto electronic signatures? Grimm, don't have those.
Davis: Well, we also have this.
Tumblr media
Ruby/Tiny Tina: And this is?
Davis: Sidewinder Micro Missile Launcher.
Ruby/Tiny Tina: Ohhhhhh!
Pyrrha: How about we look at something more manageable, and less likely to hurt Jaune when he uses it.
Droz: (Rubbing the back of his neck) Well, we do have a line of antipersonnel weapons. They can definitely take down grimm. You can see them just over there.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ruby: They look sort of old.
Davis: Time tested and true. Solid construction, worry free operation. Perfect for a newbie or an expert.
Droz: But DON'T take our word for it. Try them out and see the difference that these fine firearms can make for your kit!
Jaune: Okay, but where...?
Davis points to a pair of what appeared to be fully enclosed simulation pods.
Droz: Climb in. Chose your gear, and try them out. Full body feed back. So you will get a TRUE feel on which of these babies works best for you.
Jaune: Okay, I'm game.
Davis: Anyone else?
Pyrrha: I'll do it.
Droz: This way, please.
Ruby and Tiny Tina watched as Pyrrha and Jaune stepped into the sim pods and the doors closed. They watched carefully as the one called Droz opened up a tablet and input some keystrokes.
Davis: (Whispering) So?
Droz: (Whispering) He's a little rough, but he learns quick. He could be a Gen 3.
Davis: (Whispering) What about her?
Droz: (Whispering) Gen 5.
Davis: Shi...!
Ruby: Swear Jar!
Davis: Er... what?
Tiny Tina: What's this Gen stuff you, two, were talking about?
Droz: Gen stuff?
Davis: (Whispering) Do you think they...
Tiny Tina: Yes, we can hear you.
Droz: Cr...ud.
Tiny Tina: (Crossing her arms, her pistol in hand) So what is Gen?
Droz: (Rubs back of his neck) It stands for Generation. The more Generations a pilot goes through, the stronger and better they are. Right now, the young fella could be a Gen 3, the lady a Gen 5.
Ruby: Okay... that explains very little.
Davis: Your friends would make exceptional pilots... especially after we put them through ReGENeration.
Tiny Tina/Ruby: You what now?
Droz: Be for the best. They are perfect for the 6-4.
Ruby: NO! You can't recruit Jaune! He's already Enlisted with the Mobile Infantry!
Davis: Cool! We've never ReGENed a Trooper before!
Tiny Tina: No, no, no, no....
Droz: Let's do it!
Ruby and Tiny Tina make a lunge for Droz who just falls backwards to the floor letting the pair of young woman sail over him, as he tapped a button on his tablet.
(Okay... this one is getting split, because if I continue it is going to be super long, if it's already not too long. Stay tuned for the conclusion!)

Enchanted to meet you F.W.
Pairing: Fred Weasley(hp) x fem!reader (Implied gryffindor reader)
Part 1, Part 2, Part 3
Summery: you've known the Weasley twins since first year and since then, you've never left eachothers sides. Everyone knew you had feelings for the more flirtatious twin, except him, so when you find out that he's asked out Angelina to the yule ball, you had to find a way to bury your feelings before you let it slip.
Warnings: angst, angst, and more angst. Mentions of "y/n", !not proof-read!
a/n: I tried to make this as inclusive as possible, although I will say in this story she has hair past her shoulders but that's pretty much it. Also I wrote this about the song <Enchanted> by Taylor swift, so I recommend you listen to that while listening. Btw this is SUPER LOOSELY based on a fic I read but I can't find the original, so if it seems familiar feel free to tag them!
This is part ⅓, and I havent exactly figured out the plan for the next few chapters, BUT I can tell you, the dance is not in this chapter, it's in the next because I got distracted and wrote a little too much for this chapter
Anyways, enjoy!
Tumblr media
It was breakfast when he first mentioned it. He didn't even tell us properly, he just let it slip without noticing.
"Hey so I was thinking maybe we could do group photos before we head to the ball, y'know everyone with their dates. I ready asked Angelina if she was up for it, she said it was a great idea."
I don't think he even noticed what he had said, he just kept his head down looking at his food. George gave he a knowing look, and my throat went dry. He had know about my feelings for Fred since third year, when he practically got on his knees, begging, to see why I was always so flustered around Fred. I didn't bother looking into George's eyes, because I knew if I did, there was a high chance that I would be able to keep my composure. Fred spoke again before we got the chance to say anything.
"By the way y/n, Angelina was wondering of you wanted to go dress shopping with her."
For the first time this morning fred looked up from his plate, directing his gaze to me. My heart stopped for a second when our eyes met. It wasn't anything new but this time felt...different. I hadn't even realized I was staring till George cleared his throat. I flicker my eyes for a split second to meet with George's eyes, only to switch my focus back to Fred. I cleared my throat before answering.
"That sounds great but, I already said I'd go with ginny."
I gave him my best fake smile. I hadn't told him the whole truth but it wasn't a complete lie. I had asked ginny to go with me, but she said she had already gotten a dress.
"Oh that's a shame."
He directed his attention back to his plate. Throughout the rest of the day, you tried to avoid him and Angelina. It's not like you hated her, it was just hard to be around the girl who managed to get Fred's attention, without feeling a pang of jealousy throughout your body. In potions you took the spot by George insted of your usual seat by Fred. George had obviously known why, but that didn't stop him from asking.
"How are you holden' up?"
George slightly nudged your side.
"Not well, actually."
I turned to him, giving him a bit of a sarcastic smile.
"Well have you alleast thought about who your gonna take to the ball?"
I had actually. Not my first choice, but a shy hufflpuff boy that id know to fancy me first came to mind. It might be a little mean going with him only as a last resort, but what else was I supposed to do? Go alone? Yea, no way.
"Yea a little but I'm not to sure yet. What about you?"
George hadn't been the type to go out with alot of girls. He'd rather spend his time making jokes or thinking about what prank he was gonna do next. That's why it shocked me a little to find out he was going with a ravenclaw girl from his herbology class. Even if it was just as friends, I was happy for him.
The rest of the day seemed to fly by and next thing I knew, I was dragging myself to the great hall for dinner. When I walked through the door, I took a quick glance around the gryffindor table, not expecting anything out of the ordinary, when I see Angelina, Fred's arm draped over her shoulder, in my seat. I wanted to go over there and just let all my feelings spill from my mouth, but before I could go near the table, my feet were taking me away from the great hall and towards the common rooms.
By the time I reached the common rooms, my appetite was long gone and the water works had been flowing nonstop. Luckily everyone was either eating, or out, seeing as it was Friday and the ball was about a week away. I didn't even bother going up to the dormitory, I just took a spot on the floor infront of the couch and the empty fireplace. I wrapped my arms around myself. Since it was mid to late December, the cold was almost un-bearable and the fact that the fireplace hadn't been lit yet, wasnt helping. The common room was practicality a walk in freezer, and the only thing I had on was my robes.
When I awoke the next morning, I was grateful that it was the weekend. When I had originally woke up the night before, I was still on the ground but my back was aching and my neck was sore from the position I was in. I managed to stumble up to the dormitory after everyone else had gone to bed, not bothering to change out of my robes.
I made my way out of bed sluggishly, heading to the lavatory to wash myself off from the night prior.
I had decided to stop by hogsmade to visit a little boutique to see if they had any accessories that could go with my dress for the yule ball. I hadn't given the ball much thought other than dates, so I was rather excited to see what I could find. I had gotten my dress only a few days prior to the conversation I had at breakfast with Fred and George, and yet i hadn't thought of what I would wear with it. The dress was long and bearly grazed the floor. It had a beige base with dark see through fabric embroidered with gold accents over top. The straps were thin and had long bows covering them. It was a little out of my comfort zone, but that's what made it so special. My shoes were beige with gold vines wrapping themselves around the heel of the shoe. I hadn't decided what I was going to do with my hair, but there was still quite some time till the ball so I didn't have to rush or anything.
I left the boutique with a few simple gold bracelets, and made my way back to the castle to meet up with a few friends for lunch. Walking through the main door, whith my head down caused me to run directly into a broad figure while turning a corner.
"Oh my bad, sorry"
I apologized almost immediately, expecting that to be the end of the interaction, only to stop in my tracks.
"No worries love"
The familiar voice rang through my ears, as i looked up to see the last person I wanted to run into today.
"So... where you headed? Maybe I could join you"
Fred gave me his signature smirk. I wanted to run. Tell him no, that I didn't want to see him. But of course I knew that would ask questions, so I let him follow me. I went to the library in hopes he'd leave so I could sneakout and go with my friends, But, even when we got there he just took a spot directly next to me. I pulled out a book from a nearby shelf that I'd been eyeing out for a while and started reading. Surely he'd leave soon, right? Wrong. He sat there, next to me, for the entire afternoon as I read. Eventually I put the book back, being to distracted to concentrate on the words on the pages.
"Where were you at dinner last night?"
The question had slightly caught you off guard, seeing as he'd been quiet all this time.
"Oh, I just didn't have much of an appetite"
Which wasn't a complete lie.
"Well did you want to walk with me to dinner?"
Dinner. I had completely missed lunch and had spent my afternoon reading I hopes that Fred would leave, but he never did. At this point I would've said no. That I was just gonna skip dinner again. But my stomach was growling, and if I didn't eat soon, I might've just passed out. I had no other choice but to agree.
Dinner had went by smoothly. A lot more smoothly than last night. I found myself laughing like old times, even if Angelina was still sitting in my spot. I just took the empty place by george insted. Eventually the night crept upon me and the energy I once had was long gone at this point. Me and George said our goodnight and headed to the dorms together, as Fred and Angelina were busy talking to their mutual friends.
The walk to the dorms was quiet. But not in an uncomfortable way, in the good way. When we got to the common room, we sat on the couch In sync, and just sat there for a minute in silence. Taking in eachother company. I rested my head on George's shoulder -a habit I picked up early on in our friendship, as we were both touchy people- and he rested his head atop of mine.
"Do you think you're gonna tell him?"
The question wasn't surprising to me seeing as this wasn't the first time he's asked.
"I don't know. He seems pretty happy with Angelina right now, I'd hate to ruin it for him."
You glance up at George, to see him deep in thought. It wasn't an abnormal thing to see George distracted, but this seemed different.
"What's on you mind Georgie?"
I kept my eyes on him when he glanced at me
"Hes going to ask Angelina to be his gifriend after the ball."
My heart broke for a second, before starting to beat rapidly. I'd known he would never go for me, but there was still a piece of me that hoped everyday that maybe just maybe, he would confess his undying love for me. But that was stupid. Now that I knew for sure he wasn't interested, it hurt like hell.
"How do you know?"
I tried to hide the crack in my voice.
"He asked me for advice on how to ask, as if I knew anything about that."
He huffed a small laugh.
I let a few tears slip out, but I refused to break down infront of goerge, even if he had seen me break down before. I rested my head back on his shoulder, and let the hot tears fall. After a while, my breathing slowed and a drifted to sleep.

Over-analysing the books we saw referenced in Season Two (which I watched all in a go last night from 11pm to 4am and therefore am a little hazy on). If someone has already done this I bow to thee I just couldn't find you.
It's not reflected in my blog but one of my main special interests is Good Omens (and has been since I first read the book, a bit before season one was released) y'all I am ugly crying over the season two finale. If I've missed any books I'll just edit I guess I don't have access to the show anymore so I can't double-check anything. I KNOW Muriel was reading a book that wasn't The Crow Road but I cannot for the life of me remember what it was.
The Colour of Magic - Terry Pratchett (under I for In): On a surface level, it's a fantastic little nod to Mr Pratchett, the book that started the Discworld, and, to top it off, one of the best covers in existence. Funnily enough the same edition we always stocked when I worked in a bookshop but that's not important.
On a deeper level, think about the plot in bare-bones terms. Incredibly naïve tourist from an other-worldly place shows up in a grimy but incredibly magical city with a very odd box and spends his entire holiday with a wizard who is bad at magic. It ends with the tourist floating off into space to go see other worlds. Sounds familiar, right? I'm shaking this season like a small child with a maraca and I am chewing the plot until it is tasteless.
The Crow Road - Iain Banks (under I for It): Look, this one is so obviously significant that multiple people have done it already but I'm adding layers. Crowley gives it to Muriel in the last episode, I'm sobbing, but it's actually first referenced by Gabriel when he's "sorting". The tile is a fairly common metaphor for death, such as he's away the crow road. Other than the fact that it's literally part of Crowley's name, crows are a death omen. He gives it to Muriel for so many reasons and I don't know how it was intended originally but they're curious about humanity and The Crow Road contains one of the most fundamental parts of being human - asking too many questions.
Also, The Crow Road contains a lot of themes centred around death, mystery, and quite a bit of questioning of religion. It could be interpreted as a tell towards Crowley's real feelings about the finale. Metatron is death for him, as a demon, and he's just taken Aziraphale away to "chat". Remind me to actually write down my interpretation of the finale some time.
Pride and Prejudice - Jane Austen (under I for It): See, this one has actual plot relevance and therefore is explained in the show so I don't really think it needs an explanation. However, it is a neat little plot device to show how Aziraphale and Crowley have had very very different experiences with, and therefore perspectives on, Jane Austen herself. I think that's a pretty good way to show how they think and differ from each other in their shared experiences. Also, spitballing here, Crowley is Pride and Aziraphale is Prejudice. ("Of course you turned down Hell, they're the bad guys. Heaven is... good!")
A Tale of Two Cities, Book One - Charles Dickens (under I for It): Come on. This wouldn't need an explanation except, once again, chewing here.
"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times..." is the only bit Gabriel reads out loud, but the rest is along those lines (give it a read, it's fun). All one sentence. I don't really think it needs a huge amount of explanation, except that to me Dr Manette is Gabriel. Quite a bit of the first book is about his release from jail (and, to top it off, he was there because he reported the abuse perpetrated by members of the aristocracy and was put away under a lettre de cachet, something signed by the King and at least one of the King's ministers which could not be appealed). He's briefly taken in by a former servant (who goes on to be instrumental in the Storming of the Bastille) and the man's wife, who own a wine shop together. I am going insane.
No, I did NOT forget Good Omens (under I for It): History repeats itself over and over and over -
I need to go drink some water but Mr Gaiman sir how'd I do.

Concept: Sonic going to Soleanna for some reason, bumping into Elise and they just lock eyes for a second with the weirdest sense of deja vu.
“Have I… met you before?”
YES YES!! EXACTLY EXACTLY!!
it seems like in canon sonic actually remembers the events of 06, at least somewhat, but the ending of 06 is super open and seems to hint that something feels familiar so i LOVE this idea
they feel SO familiar for some reason. Have we met before? she swears she's seen those eyes before, he swears he's heard her laugh before. how do i know you? And they dont know! But that sense of familiarity makes them feel like theyre closer and they get to know each other, bit by bit, relearning about each other!!!
Sonic is just visiting the country for some reason or another, maybe it's a different celebration that's happening or maybe it's the sun festival, a different year and a different timeline but it's still there or maybe he's just sightseeing.
he's heard the sunsets are gorgeous this time of the year, that the canals reflect the light like an all consuming fire and he's so caught up in admiring all the beautiful buildings and towers that he doesn't realize someone's in front of him.
he bumps into them and they almost fall except he catches them before that can happen, of course, he holds them lightly while he stabilizes them on their feet. obviously they're human because of the height difference and he doesn't see their face.
as soon as they're alright he looks up and he opens his mouth with something akin to "sorry about that" on the tip of his tongue except something happens before he can even really begin his sentence.
emerald meets sapphire and Sonic blinks and it's like a lifetime just flashed before his eyes but it was all too fast, even for him, and he's just left with the vague sensation of having stared into those eyes before.
it seems like the stranger had the same sensation because her mouth also parts and she looks at him in some familiar way too,
"have we... met before?"
it's a strange feeling. like he's known this person before, he barely held onto her but he knows how her hand feels in his and she's only spoken a couple of words to him, yet he knows, somehow, he knows that he could pick out her laugh from a crowd.
it's like something he forgot. but he forgot, he can't remember, that's just how that works and though he's not sure how he knows what her laugh sounds like, he'd like to hear it again. make sure it's as authentic as his memory tells him it is.
Well. No time like the present.
"Don't think so.” he smirks. “I'm Sonic. Sonic the Hedgehog!"
He does a little one-finger salute and the stranger smiles with something like fondness and nostalgia.
"I'm Elise."

Hehehohohaha I have been thinking have a thing
(Corpse Spouse) Eclipse probably would've put a bounty for your safe return. When he can't find you, might as well dangle money so you get betrayed for greed, right? Well when you return to the town to get your things you're caught by a group of guys. You're obviously not going quiet so you're given...reminders to behave. One results in a nasty knock to the head.
Eclipse sees you and while joyful he notices quickly you seem...off. You don't look at him with distain, in fact you don't give him any emotion. You just seem so confused. And red and sore. Unfocused. Perhaps it's from where you were hiding? He still feels off about it. He sends your parents away with you and takes the group that found you away to pay them.
He tells them while you were found safe you weren't quite sound so they'll get half of what he offered. Still a good amount of money but yeah. He disappears behind the corner...and listens.
And in their complaining he finds out why you seemed so off.
How dare they hurt you. Sure you were kicking off, but to hurt you? To leave marks that would no doubt bruise?! He's furious. Raving mad. He's smoking at the mere thought. He had to accept people had to put their hands on you to grab you, but hurt you? He's enraged.
He returns with a line. Oh dear it seems his optics are acting up. Can they check to see if he has their right amount? Good old human greed.
Closer then that. Closer. Closer. Closer.
Too close.
The morning comes and there's a doctor waiting to check you over. Indeed those men caused some bruising. Took that money and ran, you know? Didn't even say goodbye to their families. But what does that matter now? Eclipse needs a new suit for his wedding! His one is very burnt...and weirdly very stained.
Yes!!! This is great.
Eclipse would absolutely pay to have you brought to him, for a lot of reasons: 1) just another way for him to show you his power, 2) it’s, in a way, more effective and easier for people your size to search for you, and 3) it’s another way to show you that you’re not safe; that at any given time people will betray you for the right price, family or otherwise.
Truly, that hit gave you a break. Unfocused, a bit light-headed, why did you even leave? You missed your family, and Eclipse wasn’t as insufferable, maybe you’ll stay. You felt… happy. A bit dazed, sure, but you were fine!
So they hit you? Another reason for Eclipse to hate humans. How dare they?! Those lowlife pests didn’t deserve to live. ‘He didn’t tell them that making you compliant was off-limits’?! He shouldn’t have had to! Everyone knows that you’re off-limits, in every sense of the word.
Next you see Eclipse, something changed, and tell him as such. ‘Your face looks different. It looks new.’ ‘I hadn’t seen that suit before; looks nice.’ ‘Your eyes look like fire, and you are really warm. Are you all right?’ ‘It’s one of the faceplates you made. This occasion demands perfection.’ ‘Ordered it custom for now. I’m glad you like it.’ ‘It’s simply my delight of having you back showing.’
Ok ok, but imagine… y/n gets slight memory loss from the hit.
Eclipse… you know him; it’s a familiar name, as familiar as your own mother’s and father’s, so he must be someone close, right? Wait… he’s your husband?!
You… he… you don’t remember, but you are told it was a happy marriage, before you were… kidnapped. That means you should love him, then. you don’t feel anything for him, except maybe apprehension.
You remember two other; your kidnappers Eclipse tells you. You don’t remember their names, nor their actions; you remember their face, though. So similar to Eclipse, yet at the same time not alike. you don’t forget Eclipse’s face when you tell him; you make sure to not mention them again.
All in all, you suppose you’re content, though you can’t ignore the shadows of doubt that lurk in the darkest part of your mind when Eclipse holds you, or when your parents tell you things you should remember. why does everything feel wrong?

The Fall of Fair City - Chapter 10
"WHAT!" Dr. Two Brains and Becky exclaimed in angry outrage. "I can't believe they would hold you responsible for something you obviously did not do." Becky spoke as she gestured her arms in an upset fashion. "I know right." Two Brains exclaimed, just as agitated as his daughter. "The people of this city should know well by now that my crimes involve stealing cheese. If I destroy anything it's either cheese related, something that threaten's mice, or something that would hurt you in civilian mode." He exclaimed with pride. "Exactly! The storage unit was still standing when I took the Learnerer to jail. Plus you were still bruised from that machine hitting you by coincidence." Becky did not notice during her rant how her dad flinched at that last statement. "Also you were home the whole time last night and there was no way you could have gone back there without me hearing it and waking me up." Two Brains nodded in agreement. "These people don't have anything on me. It's all just hogwash and false claims to probably make themselves feel better about not having the "real culprit"." Two Brains spoke as he turned his gaze to focus back on the news broadcast. "There is no way I will let this injustice slide dad. Come on Bob." Becky spoke with fierce determination. Dr. Two Brains gave a sigh as his expression became calmer. He was mad his name was used for a crime he sure he would have remembered committing but didn't, yet it wasn't a good idea for him to retaliate with pettiness which would further convince the people of this lie."Yeah well I'll deal with it later kiddo so for now don't try to get so worked up and barge into.." Two Brains stopped talking when he heard a very familiar wooshing sound and found he was all alone in the living room sans a child and monkey. "And she's gone." Two Brains spoke with a deadpan expression and slightly annoyed tone. Wordgirl didn't know what to expect went she super sped towards the science department where she assumed the owners would still be today. In all honesty Becky was still emotionally wound about the news broadcast. Sure her dad was the top supervillain of this city. But they had no clue he had gotten hurt in a scheme that wasn't even his own. It just wasn't fair to the guy. Wordgirl appeared swiftly in the meeting room where the owners were talking with the police commissioner and some other cops, surprising the occupants, though she herself was taken aback a little when District Attorney Sally Botsford was also there. "Wordgirl? What are you doing here?" The commissioner asked puzzled. Wordgirl crossed her arms as she spoke in her usual heroic tone that was this time laced with restrained anger. "I'm here because I needed to speak to the owners about their claims from the news broadcast this morning. I was able to find you with my super hearing." Becky clears her throat to make her message clear and concise. "I'm here to say that Dr. Two Brains is innocent of destruction in that storage unit and it was impossible for him to be responsible for the crime." All of the occupants looked disappointed and doubtful of Wordgirl's claim except for Mrs. Botsford who gave an agreeing smile. "Look Wordgirl. Dr. Two Brains was there as confirmed from out interrogation with The Learnerer. We also have confirmation from The Learnerer that Dr. Two Brains knew how to break in and avoid tripping off alarms plus associating documents that the villain had worked here in the past. There is also the notion that Dr. Two Brains was unhappy being here. That shows us Two Brains had the means and motivation for destroying the storage unit last night." The Police Commissioner stated aloud. Wordgirl frowned angrily, trying her best to keep some composure. "Well The Learnerer should have also told you that coming here was his scheme and not Dr. Two Brains'. Plus If he was upset about being there, he would have cheesed or gooped the place as per his usual standards, not cause senseless destruction." @melodythebunny @dualnaturedscientist

Ethan Winters. Simon Jarrett. Existential Horror. Something. It's 3 AM Man.
First of all I have to say that I've never played SOMA myself before. When I say I'm horrible with horror I really mean it, but the core theme of the game and how it deals with humanity has been a huge source of inspiration for me for a while. The best part is you don't even have to play the game yourself. Just listening to video essays is enough to make you think for hours if you're not careful lol
Obviously spoilers for both SOMA and RE8, but like, the games are out for years now...
The point is, I feel like understanding Simon Jarrett would help with understanding Ethan Winters a lot better, and why just excepting that he's molded might not work for him. I feel like they have some similarities in terms of their existential horror but SOMA showed it better as it was the whole point about the game, while RE8 is left to be just an underlying thoughts as it was more action-focused... If you can't explain it properly using one game, then use another game baby!!!
Now, I don't think Capcom thought that far ahead, but hey, nothing wrong with trying to humanize your favorite character, right? That's my dad, y'know? So in that way it's pretty much a personal interpretation rather than an actual analysis. Again. It is also 3 AM right now. Hot damn.
Pretty early on in SOMA, you encounter a robot, or a Mockingbird, to be exact, who still thought of himself as a human. He fully believed himself to be an injured human and asked the protagonist to help him. Telling him that he was a robot would anger him, and he'd tell you he still had arms and legs... Or after that, another brain scan that shut himself down from stress once he realized something was wrong and had to be convinced that the simulation was real for him to give up. And then there's Simon himself, too. Initially, Simon also saw himself as a human, flesh and all. Only when he looked into the mirror did he become aware of his true appearance. Do you see what I'm getting at here. The brain does weird things to keep itself together is another thing that was also presented in SOMA.
Not only that, but Simon was also repeatedly explained about the process of brain scanning and how it works, how they'd always be left behind while it was their copies that would live on, but he simply couldn't comprehend it, or rather he wouldn't listen. Repressed, in denial, whatever. It was, after all, an awful truth. Anyways, the last thing Simon knew he was a normal guy with a brain injury, and then he wasn't anymore, but he didn't know that and kept thinking he was normal up until a certain point, sounds familiar?
The point is, you could probably apply the same thought process to Ethan, too, although less extreme as he didn't suddenly wake up a robot. I see a lot of people questioning why Ethan thought he could just reattach his hand and not realize that there was something wrong with him. Personally I think that what if, on a certain level, he did know that he wasn't normal anymore, hence immediately coming to the conclusion that he could just reattach his limbs, but he never questioned it or dig deeper because his brain shut it out to keep itself together. He died, literally. Foot to the head right after his wife chainsawed his arm off. That HAD to be one hell of a trauma. And by the time he finally realized he died, Ethan was angry and had a one-track mind. He did freak out for a bit when Eveline broke it to him ("Then what am I?") but he didn't have time to have a crisis. He had to pull himself together ("Family? F-Family? No! Rose! I have to...save...my daughter!") and save Rose. Then he died before he had a chance to fully comprehend the real horror that lies beyond his superficial humanity.
(I also think he's dubiously human as hell. Best case scenario is the mold revived him and he retained his consciousness. Worst case is the real Ethan died right there and the Ethan that lived on was an archived consciousness, or the mold integrated with him so well it inherited his memories and thought it was Ethan Winters. You can pick whichever you like. A little existential dread is fun once in a while-)
There's not much to talk about here but there's also a pretty interesting parallel at the end where the brain scan of Simon got launched into the ark, and as for Ethan, an archive of his consciousness lives on in the realm of consciousness.
That's probably enough for today I think. I really need to sleep instead of rambling about a fictional man's potential existential dread jfjdjfjjdjfj

@camptw1nk
the nights have been getting longer & colder. honestly, you kind of miss spring. thankfully, though, the cabin provides decent enough shelter from the elements, although you would have made the cabin a little larger to accommodate kurt's parents as well. you thought they'd have died, & you tried to kill them because you fucking hate those two, but apparently your creators had other ideas. like, why not torture our son's friend with the survival of his parents in one of the most stressful circumstances a human being could ever go through? like, what the fuck. they overwrote your predestined ending for the conrad adults, & it kind of pisses you off.
thanks, first & second. fucking assholes.
you're curled up on the floor next to robby, like every other night, feeling very safe & loved with his arms wrapped protectively around your smaller frame. the blankets are pulled up tightly around you two on the mattress, which is near the fireplace. you can hear everyone's steady breathing, but you refuse to peek into their heads. you've been... adjusting pretty okay to life without your sunglasses & earplugs. it was a little jarring & uncomfortable at first, but now, three months into living in the middle of nowhere, you're semi-used to it.
slowly, you raise your head to look into the fire, & it crackles loudly in response as you activate your pyrokinesis, further drenching the room in an amber glow. the sparks suddenly crack a little too violently as you think of robby's death at the hands of the alternate, now-slaughtered group in the alternate, now-destroyed universe. whoops. it seems your rage for the death of your fiancé hasn't faded, & you doubt it ever will. ( IT WAS THEIR FUCKING FAULTS HE DIED, & robby keene didn't deserve that. so you rewound the clock, you tore apart the story when it was just beginning. you made him survive.
you just... you can't live in a world without him, you REFUSE to. he means everything & more to you. )
you untangle your body from robby's, tenderly brushing his hair away from his forehead. you lean down to kiss his forehead gently. then, you slip out of bed, tuck the blankets around his body carefully to keep him warm, & zip up your jacket as you weave around the sleeping bodies of the other survivors. they're not your friends, not really. except for laura lee. ben & kurt are okay, too, as far as you're concerned. they didn't have anything to do with robby's death, so they don't deserve your wrath. robby is obviously a given. you'd never hurt him, ever. you can't say you'd give the same luxury to the others. ( given what you know about conrad & melissa from other universes, those two deserve zero respect. )
you perk up slightly when you sense a single, isolated presence outside, turning around to do a quick headcount of the others. everyone is accounted for, save for one. kurt. you're kind of curious as to why he's not asleep, & a little concerned, honestly. you slide your hat on, then your gloves & shoes without disturbing the others, & step out of the cabin. the blast of artic air hits you full force, & you're quick to shed the human need to regulate your body temperature. there. now you don't feel the plummeting temperatures, the wind, or the snow, which feels a lot colder because of the time of night. you quickly shut the door to prevent any of the wind & snow from entering the cabin, sighing softly, watching your breath come out in puffs. you remain quiet as you lean against the wall of the cabin, arms crossed, staring up at the snow as it lazily falls around the area. frowning slightly, you quietly approach the familiar blond standing a fair amount away from the cabin. from warmth. you already miss the warmth of robby, the sound of his steady heartbeat in your ears.
❝ kurt ? ❞ you call his name quietly, exhaling sharply as if you're freezing, when you're actually not. ❝ why are you out here alone ? aren't y-you cold ? ❞

Juuzou feels a little odd walking through this particular section of Herta Space Station without Atsushi's company but, at the same time, at the moment he couldn't care less; it's really his least important problem right now.
Besides, it's not like he's explicitly not allowed in there, nor completely alone - there's a researcher accompanying him, even though he'd much rather be alone - and he's staying away from restricted zones, too. No one should give a shit - Juuzou certainly doesn't - and if they do, it's not his problem, because he has much more important things on his mind. Such as the fact that, apparently, none of the researchers Atsushi is usually working with bothered to check on him, even after it turned out he hasn’t been responding to any texts or calls for almost three hours. Juuzou can understand many things, really; the space station employs too many researchers for all of them to be able to know everyone else, most of them are usually busy, too, but surely someone’s closest coworkers would have at least some vague idea about what’s happening to that person, no?
The woman following him surely must’ve realized that too - or maybe he just scared her too much; either way, she’s quiet, with an almost guilty look on her face. She’s somewhat struggling to keep up with him, but right now, he struggles to care.
It's only when they finally arrive at the door to the archive, and he stops for a moment, waiting for the researcher to let him in, that his anger seems to dissipate - at least a little. It's now replaced by his growing worry; it's not completely unlike Atsushi to not answer him for a long while, either. He tends to work a lot - perhaps a bit too much - and during that time, he usually doesn't answer his phone, that's understandable. But for him to just… Disappear, like that?
He steps deeper inside; the researcher follows after him but stops near the door, seemingly a little hesitant to follow him, and Juuzou can't say he's particularly upset about it. It's not like he needs her help to find Atsushi, either - though at first the room seems empty, he spots a familiar silhouette soon enough.
“Atsushi?”
Their friend is lying on his desk, with his eyes closed; Juuzou’s heart nearly skips a beat when they see it, but as they come closer, they're relieved to realize that he's just sleeping. Still, he… Doesn't look good; even asleep he seems tired, his face has a sickly look to it, and Juuzou can see dark circles under his eyes. When they reach out their hand to touch his forehead and check his temperature, though, Atsushi opens his eyes. He seems confused, for just a moment - before he recognizes Juuzou, and immediately pulls himself up.
“Juuzou?” he says. He sounds almost nervous, and their gaze softens. “I… Sorry, I promise I didn’t forget you were visiting today, I just fell asleep and—”
“Atsushi.” They interrupt him, but their voice is gentle; if anyone else heard them right now, they would be surprised, because that's not how they sound when talking to others usually; they're not rude to everyone around them, obviously, but their voice also isn't soft like that. “It’s alright.”
For a moment, Atsushi looks like he wants to disagree, but ultimately, he only lets out a quiet sigh.
“Okay,” he says and smiles softly. He yawns, covering his mouth with his hand, and adjusts his glasses. “Please give me a moment, I need to finish something here, then we can go.
Juuzou gives him a small nod, and leans against the desk, waiting for Atsushi to finish up his work; they're listening to what he's talking about, but they have trouble focusing right now. Their thoughts keep circling back to how tired their friend looks, and they can't help but wonder how much exactly Atsushi has been sleeping recently, and how much has he been allowing himself to relax. It wouldn't be the first time he neglected that, really; Juuzou supposes, though, that before they confront him about it they might wait for a bit longer; at least until the two of them are somewhere alone.

So I wanna talk about this guy-
Tumblr media
Meta Spider is one of the coolest concepts I've ever come up with, somewhat inspired by AUs where Joker or someone else gets Yaldy's power, as well as a very long and very epic fanfic where Yaldy possesses all the Thieves except Joker and tries to resume his plans. (I'd share what the fic was, but I can't remember what it was called sadly, which sucks because I never finished it-)
The idea here was also somewhat inspired by the beginning of NWH, where I was considering the idea of Aaron's identity being revealed, but the issue was that I didn't know how to walk that back tastefully. Keep in mind, NWH released before I'd started writing here, and Twitter doesn't exactly do the concept of verses.
The solution I came up with was simple, a deal with the devil. Which if you're at all familiar with Spider-Man comics, sounds really bad, but I promise this is better than that dumpster fire.
After Aaron begins to stress over how much his life is ruined, and how it has put all his friends in danger, Yaldabaoth appears with a deal. He will manipulate the minds of the masses to forget who Phantom Spider is, though he won't be able to do so for anyone with a Persona or anything similar, meaning the team, Akechi, Shido, and a few others would still remember. And the only thing he asks is to borrow Aaron's body for 24 hours, and more importantly, his innate connection to the Metaverse.
He doesn't agree easily, and he makes sure there are rules a limitations on what Yaldy can do during those 24 hours. Obviously, he's trying to fuse the worlds together, but do that in Aaron's body will require him to get his hands dirty, so he only agrees on a few conditions.
He cannot kill anyone
He cannot harm his friends
He will give Aaron a year to prepare. Not much point in reverting the status quo if he doesn't have time to enjoy it.
Yaldabaoth agrees to not harm his allies, as long as they don't get in his way. If they do, they're fair game, though he still cannot kill them. As for the year to prepare, Yaldabaoth will only agree to a month to get his things in order. He knows if he gives Aaron too long, he's likely to devise away to limit him even further.
Aaron reluctantly accepts.
He doesn't feel he has a choice. His identity being out puts everyone around him at risk. If he ever wants to be in their lives again, if he wants to keep them safe, he has to take this deal.
But he doesn't keep it a secret from them. As soon as the deal is made, he goes and he tells them about it. Obviously, they aren't particularly happy about this, but they understand why he agreed.
So they prepare. They all mark the day of the takeover on their calendars, and they gear up. They don't have to beat him, they just need to stall him.
Now the exact events of what happens during those 24 hours, I've never come up with. Mostly because since this was going to be an event, I was going to leave the details up to whoever I was writing with. But it's a really interesting idea, that I'd love to write sometime!
What I will say is that this would be a really tough fight. Once he knows the Thieves are trying to stop him, he isn't going to hold back much, he will hit them with everything he has as long as he knows they can take it. Aaron won't be able to resist his control, all he can do is nudge things a little to make sure he abides by the terms of the deal. And the only way he can get control back early is if Yaldabaoth breaks his word, which would involve either killing someone or harming one of Aaron's confidants who never got in his way, which aren't exactly ideal.
Last thing I'll say is while I don't have the specifics of the event laid out, I do know what happens if they succeed. Aaron gets his body back, and proceeds to pass the heck out for a few days. But when he wakes, he starts looking into those abilities Yaldabaoth used, to see if he can actually just... do that.
What are those abilities? Don't worry, I've got a post in the works that will explain exactly how powerful Aaron can be. (As well as explain why a lot of those powers won't be seen in a majority of his verses)
