DPxDC - Mafia Ties
Good parents Fenton and redeemed Vlad escaping to another universe with Danny, Jordan, Ellie, Jazz, Tucker, and Sam because of GIW chaos getting so bad they literally need to go to another world to get help, only for the portal to close, and they can't open it from this side. Jordan is Jazz's age maybe a year older and Ellie accidentally got deaged to her actual age give or take which is probably about a year and a half old. Yes it's the Family Breakfast ship.
@hallowsden
Cue Vlad doing his whole possession stuff to not only get them new identities but carefully accumulate a small amount of wealth, not enough to be suspicious in his opinion but still.
The Fenton parents start looking to see if/where this world has ectoplasm because the kids, and maybe Vlad, need it. Hel, maybe the parents accidentally need it too after all those years of exposure.
I know everyone chooses Gotham for this stuff, but also that's about the most I know about DC and it has a Lazarus pit underground so we're using it.
Vlad doesn't get back into the proper businessman profile, too many eyes for him to feel safe after the GIW disaster, but he does end up a Mafia boss, or at least tries. Also, Hood becomes a new 'son' obsession for him, yeah he has Danny and Jordan and Ellie but this kid is also ghosty and probably hungry or something, right?
Hood doesn't get what's up with this weird older man who always has a baby with him, let alone why he'd even bring a baby along to mafia stuff.
Vlad thinks it's safer to have Ellie in mafia meetings than be left with the Fentons during their research obsession periods because they will literally not pay attention to anything else unless it's an emergency, it's not their fault, they're learning to manage it though.
Speaking of Fentons, they work on clean energy manufacturing topside, but underground they deal with weapons. Mostly they supply them to Vlad's crew, since that's basically their testing grounds, but they also don't make anything that's actually lethal. Vlad isn't a fan of guns though but he isn't about to bring out his plasma blasts if there isn't a good reason. (He pretends anyone who sees him cackling like a maniac hit their head, he did say he hates using guns after all).
Jordan and Jazz are probably about 17/18 now. Jazz is going to college, while Jordan slips his way into the kid's mafia (yes he knows he's a kid now too, shut up, he used to be 24). This is half to annoy Vlad and half because he's curious. Jazz, of course, with a little help from both Vlad and Tucker in getting her grades moved between universes, is in college soon, and manages a full scholarship (not that Vlad wouldn't have paid if he still had his old money, in fact he might even be a little jealous that he wasn't the one to pay for her schooling).
Jordan looks a little more like Vlad than he does Jack, due to the way the ghost half fusion effects everything, but he also looks more like Jack than Maddie because Jack is what Danny would have grown into anyway.
Ellie of course just looks like a nearly carbon copy of Danny of course, just baby and female.
Danny, Sam, and Tucker are all going to Gotham Prep, if Vlad can't pay for Jazz's schooling then he's paying at just some for theirs (they might have partial scholarships but not full ride). Danny still sneaks out at night because he can't stand sitting still after an hour time being a vigilante and ends up running into the Bat. He promptly apologizes for invading his haunt and flees.
If any ships, I'm thinking Jazz/Jason and Jordan/Dick, but I'm a sucker for everlasting Trio and Tim also has a trio of his own.
Back to Ellie and Vlad. He of course is trying to keep any 'Meta' rumors on the downlow, but she's just a baby. The harness she's in is ghost proof mostly so she can't just phase out of it, but you try changing a baby's diaper and they just turn intangible, or put then down to nap when they start floating. Hel, imagine setting her down for two seconds, she accidentally makes a shield, and now she's crying because she wants to be held. Sure, Vlad and Danny both, Jordan and Ellie too, can go through shields in human form, but that doesn't mean it doesn't sting or something. Eventually it gets figured out though.
I wonder how long it takes Jason to figure out that this Jordan fellow is related to Vlad. 😂
I also wonder what it would take for Vlad to actually use his ghost form outright, what kind of threat he'd expose himself to for the sake of his family. Just, shoving the kids at Jack - "Darling your aim is iced tea, let Maddie and myself handle this" - and doing what he has to.
And, yes, even as a Mafia boss he refuses to actually swear. Also, he probably still goes by Plasmius, the way his other form looks does NOT help the vampire rumors. Let alone the- well, I read a post on here a while ago where Ellie Danny and Jordan were deaged and needed his ectoplasm to survive. Imagine being a Plasmius goon in a meeting while he's trying to rock his baby to sleep and she's just sucking on his hand. You don't think much of it until you see he's bleeding and, even though it's technically red, your pretty sure it's glowing green and you're not sure if you want to ask (you won't but still). Plus, he's not even reacting to what must be a fair bit of pain, right?
Honestly, there's probably a betting pool about the whole weird family.
And of course I'm bringing in my Alfred Clockwork storyline. Flashpoint Thomas is Frighty, dead Thomas is Pariah, and Gotham is Martha. The moment Vlad finds out that Jason's grandparents are some of the most powerful ghosts in the realms (or at least this side of them in Gotham's case) he's like "okay I won't interfere, but maybe he'd like a friend? He doesn't seem to know a lot of ghosts.' (he tries to figure out which kid would be a better fit and that's when he finds out Jordan's been working for Hood this whole time. "You didn't tell me?" "You didn't know?!") 😂
Basically, give me a Mafia family who's major story plot isn't even the bats outright, it's just trying to survive after fleeing a world that may as well be destroyed at this point. Sure, they interact with the bats, cross paths, maybe even a couple relationships, but, overall, the Fenton-Masters are just outsiders in Gotham, learning to adjust to this new life.

growing up is realizing that dipcifica was actually a pretty damn good ship and holy shit i totally misjudged this pairing.
i never really liked dipcifica mainly because of how it got represented by the fandom, but looking back on it, it would've made a lot of sense and it would've been beneficial for both of them to date each other. and even in a completely platonic sense, their dynamic worked well enough that they could've done a lot more together.
dipper is a very nerdy awkward guy, clearly. he likes solving mysteries and sometimes he gets a little in over his head because of it. and his silly little awkward teenage love life reflects all of these things. that little shrimp was disney's #1 simp, it's actually insane. whenever he'd start to fall for a girl it'd end up going pretty terribly because he'd have no idea how to just act like himself and he'd also become a little bit of a jerk. (i'm not trying to like dog on dipper btw. he's just a kid and these are all understandable flaws, especially at his age and at the time period gravity falls took place in). however, with pacifica, a lot of these flaws are manageable solely because of how they're introduced to each other. dipper hates pacifica at first and wants nothing to do with her, but eventually they're forced to work together and realize "huh. we actually make a really good team." for dipper, this gradual building of a relationship is really beneficial to him. he wouldn't just go head-first into simping for some random girl and he'd also learn to respect her as a person and realize when he's being a little bit of a dick. being with pacifica, platonically or romantically (though personally i think romantically would strengthen their pros more but thats just my personal taste), would've helped dipper become a better person.
this goes for pacifica as well. pacifica's homelife is extremely controlling and it's what groomed her into becoming the mean girl that she's first presented as. as the show continues though, it's clear that she doesn't really want to be mean to anybody. she only acts spoiled because she doesn't know what else she can act like. she wants to connect to people but she's been so forced into this fake rich life that she has no idea how to be genuine with anybody. that's why her having a connection to dipper is so important. dipper is a little blunt, and he especially won't hide that from pacifica because he initially hates her and her family's lifestyle, so this'll eventually help pacifica realize "oh shit. i'm kind of a dick. my family are kind of huge dicks." and we do end up seeing this from her in "Northwest Mansion Mystery". she learns how to be herself, learns who "herself" even means, and learns to stand up for who she is when she figures that out. also pacifica's pretty damn smart???? especially socially???? she could absolutely help dipper do a lot of things when it comes to mystery solving, and with her status it'll most likely be things that dipper could never pull off and never even thought about because that's just what he's used to. they'd both end up learning a lot from each other because they'd be dragged into environments that they're not familiar with, but the other is. and their different perspectives/lifestyles would help the other view their environment in a new light.
not only is their relationship genuinely really beneficial to the both of them, but i also just know that their dialogue and scenes with each other would be so damn silly i can't not say yes to it anymore. i also just personally like headcanoning them both as bisexual so that's a plus for me.
anyways, tldr: i was wrong about dipcifica and its actually really good, i just think people should really analyze their relationship more since the way the fandom presents it (or how ive personally seen the fandom present it) is a little icky and shallow at least in my opinion. yay for dipcifica being silly little goobers :3

So I found out Elemental made a huge comeback and went from the worst Pixar fail to the biggest Disney success since 2019 !!! I am SO happy for it I thought it would have failed but no the word-to-mouth was apparently phenomenal and I can almost boast I loved it before it was cool !
In the dirty face of Encanto who finally got beaten, fuck off narcissictic family dynamics apologizing movie, make way to ACTUAL family pressure that DO seem believable when resolved because it IS apparent they actually do care from the start all while being a great romance and being a social racial commentary at that
And in your FACE Tumblr who HOPED it would bomb and made bad faith posts calling it ugly and problematic without watching it because it wasn't about a LGBT allegory like other movies you were determined to dickride and overly promoted as the BEST MOVIE EVAAAA because no other reason over than GAE (you ALL know which...) and because you keep blaming Disney for being unoriginal but refuse to watch its few original content then do a surprised Pikachu face at the 1828th live action remake, and because you assumed it would be problematic (the word that has the least meaning and impact left nowadays) from bad marketing alone while it is an immigrant 2nd generation story first AND a romance second. But no instead let's praise stunning and brave unnecessary remakes for coloring a character ON PURPOSE TO CAUSE REACTIONS because they know it would have failed otherwise and nobody would care, and those caring only for that shallow bait as if that would beat racism and calling racists those who don't think it makes sense. And now it's gonna rinse and repeat with "WHO NEEDS STRAIGHT ROMANCE STRONG WOMEN DON'T NEED IT THEY CAN SAVE THEMSELVES WOMEN WHO NEED TO BE SAVED ARE WEAK" as if that were not mysoginistic
Either way, Ember and Wade are the superior Pixar couple and I wish they are making out over all those who rejoiced it failed because they can't enjoy anything anymore equally and only see them as RRRRIVALS to their beloved stories, the larger audience ultimately made their choice proving the world is very different from what Tumblr thinks it is and even if I know I won't see any other post celebrating here because "NOT our movie uwu" I just know it is real. The fandom does exist and won't need you

*cough* so is anyone gonna comment on how Tsukasa made an entire fake world for Mitsuba to be happy in and didn’t bother him a single bit. Like he just let Mitsuba live his fake life
hi Anon!
you're SOOO right! no one talks about that but??like?? that's so cute?? and people say Tsukasa doesn't even like Mitsuba, like what? what was that? because what I'm reading is that MITSUBA IS ONE OF THE ONLY PEOPLE TSUKASA CARES FOR!!
he gave Mitsuba his own present, he's tried to grant his wish how many times??
can't believe people think Tsukasa doesn't care about Mitsuba! he says he likes Mitsuba!
and he got him a gift! a welcoming gift, because he cares, who has he given a gift to before in this manga besides Hanako? he used to bring his brother gifts all the time, and he gave Mitsuba something he thought he'd like!
something to help his wish come true, and he lets Mitsuba have fun and meet people, just like he wanted and remember, Mitsuba is a main character okay? it's not just about Hanako or something, this whole fake world wouldn't be a thing unless Mitsuba wanted something like his wish.
I believe Tsukasa really does want to grant Mitsuba's wish and make him happy, I really do, because the fake world is for him for his happiness
it's all for Mitsuba, this is a solution him, a supernatural thought would be good, and Mitsuba did like it, with how it seemed Tsukasa stayed in there for a little bit he didn't do anything, you're right Anon, he let Mitsuba enjoy himself, he didn't bother him
which, I think is kind of sad thinking about because he also thought Amane was better off without him but, hay! I'm sure Tsukasa was happy with how it was turning out, since Mitsuba seemed satisfied, but oh well it seems he'll keep trying to grant his wish, although seems right now is Sakura wish time..
also Tsukasa was excited, I swear he was! he celebrated and used his party popper before anyone else could turn things on and surprise him
when has he done this with someone he doesn't care about or just sees as a creation of his? NO WHERE!! and I'm sure we all know where we've seen Tsukasa act with someone he could care less about and only sees as useful sometimes
yeah safe to say he has never let be treated/treated Mitsuba like that! I'd say he's quite protective more then anything! i also stand by Mitsuba being one of the only people Tsukasa has tried to comfort or help make feel better
he's also more gentle with Mitsuba despite punching him to help him gain some backbone and I think they created a connection considering how Mitsuba acts, it may not be apparent, but they have this sort of bond that comes naturally, I feel it in my bones with how their relationship has progressed
and lets talk about how willing Tsukasa is to get Mitsuba something? like friends? he was ready to make Mitsuba a friend, and was also ready to be his friend, but I'm sure we all know how Tsukasa has a harder time with that, with how Tsukasa in the red house said that Amane would be happier without him and how he hated him, how was he supposed to know Mitsuba would except him as a friend?
his speech bubble is FRILLY!! he must be very happy (not just because he wants to know if sparklers will still crackle in his stomach I swear bare with me)
but am I the only one who feels sort of like Tsukasa thought Mitsuba, a creation without memories would rather be able to see his self... because I'm quite sure Tsukasa knows of the powers of school mystery number three, especially since he talks about how powerful the power is
and helping Mitsuba become stronger...feels kind of like Tsukasa knows a creation without a goal or knowing is horrible, so he tried to let Mitsuba forge that himself with the powers...maybe I'm looking too much into it and Tsukasa really did just make him number three for a big plan but I feel like there could more to his relationship with Mitsuba, I think he cares
I know Tsukasa isn't the best at showing affection and doesn't really know what people like, but I think they have something going for them that isn't toxic

anyway, i'm sure this has been discussed ad nauseam at this point but I'll say it again -- the show gives us two scenes of zuko expressing very legitimate worries about facing a father-figure after messing up
The Book 3 opener, with Mai on the boat, where Zuko worries about seeing his father after 3 years and how he's changed/his home has changed
Zuko anxious about facing Iroh again and discusses this with Katara
The conversations go like this:
Mai: Aren't you cold?
Zuko: I've got a lot on my mind. It's been so long, over three years since I was home. I wonder what's changed. I wonder how I've changed.
Mai: [Yawns.] I just asked if you were cold, I didn't ask for your whole life story. [Zuko frowns at her sarcastic response. Mai giggles and holds his face in her hands.] Stop worrying.
(in interest of fairness, I will include that the transcript i got from atla wiki says this: The two kiss. Mai exits, and Zuko stays there with an expression of relief on his face. We return to the ship where Team Avatar is on -- however, the show just actually shows a close up of his eyes)
and
Cut back to Zuko, who becomes worried and ashamed before walking toward the tent. Cut to Zuko from behind as he approaches the tent before stopping. Close-up of Zuko. Side-view as he sits down. Katara walks up to him.
Katara Are you okay?
Zuko [Frontal view.] No, I'm not okay. My uncle hates me, I know it. [Katara sits down next to him.] He loved and supported me in every way he could, and I still turned against him. How can I even face him?
Katara [Close-up side-view of Zuko.] Zuko, you're sorry for what you did, right?
Zuko: More sorry than I've been about anything in my entire life. Katara: Then he'll forgive you. He will.
I just think there's a very clear contrast here of dismissive vs supportive. I get what the writers were trying to do- Mai even smiles a little when she makes her joke-- but it just doesn't land for me because I think Zuko's concerns are valid and ought to be treated seriously here-- who wouldn't be worried after 3 years away???? And And Zuko doesn't even disclose his real worries to Mai (he does to Azula though!-- about seeing his dad without having actually recaptured the Avatar! which I think is interesting)
And he's very upfront with Katara in the later scene, which is a very pivotal one for him-- his courage to make amends and apologize to one of the most important people in his life. And Katara doesn't try to lighten the mood or tell him to stop worrying -- she treats his concerns as valid and walks him through it-- he's sorry, so Iroh will forgive him (it probably helps that she has also forgiven him for what he did in Ba Sing Se, she knows what that means)
