“As if I’d ever want to stop.”

And then my eyes shoot back open while I squeak out a surprised (and loud) moan. Just when I thought we were having a sappy moment, Arven slipped into me. That sneaky bitch.

“Like… in a good way?” Answering me through actions, Arven inches out more assuredly before snapping his hips against me. “Shit!”

2023 Year Results

I have lost my ranking of favorite Thai BL/QLs that I made during half of the year, so I'm just going to write it anew^^

My Top BLs by the end of 2023:

1. Be My Favorite

2. Moonlight Chicken

3. Not Me

4. The Eclipse

5. Semantic Error (or if we talk only Thai series, then Bad Buddy!)

Honorable mentions: Only Friends, SOTUS, Laws of Attraction, Kieta Hatsukoi, My Ride...

I keep changing the places and Moonlight Chicken held such a strong place in my heart but now I'm also taking into account whether I liked all pairings and characters, so BMF finally took over. But I still can't decide whether The Eclipse is higher than Not Me, I might rewatch it endlessly but Not Me was a cultural reset :D As well as Semantic Error who's done so good and finally broke through the typical Korean BL setting and public's favor.

Bad Buddy has done amazingly as well but there are only 5 places in Top 5 ranking 🥲 I guess, the Our Skyy just dimmed my good memories about it a little bit x)

I love how this year we got shows that have expanded beyond the borders of usual BLs, they added mystery and mystic, action, time travelling, sitcom etc, mixed gentes, kept speaking out about many important things - from marriage legalisation to equal rights - that definitely had its own impact on real life, actors went on many fanmeetings overseas, from West to East, and overall... This was a good year, story and fandom wise.

My Fanfic Statistics

I stopped writing metas and somewhat distanced myself from the fandom when I felt that my views often didn't align with majority (and also got shadowbanned by tumblr?), but I wrote ~ 80k words on AO3 and drew >10-15 arts that I really enjoyed. I still have many wips so look forward to them!

I wrote way too many Only Friends fics whole I watched the show xD This was definitely a show that gave out ideas (and sometimes outrage) and lots of angst.

But Not Me fics are still my number one (though mostly because of all the crossovers with other series I keep writing about)

Also somehow Bad Buddy OT4 fic is now the longest fanfic I've ever written (both in Neglish and my native language). And it's still not finished but tbh even I don't know exactly how it will end, that's how self-indulgent this is but I'm so happy rhat many people were excited about this idea with me!

My Fandom

I also had a blast having various discussions in my own small community and people who wanted to share opinions and watch series together. You guys keep inspiring and supporting me in exploring many ideas, drawing art and writing many fics, I truly admire and adore you all, especially my fam @springkitten @xagan and also @thepancakelady @wereflamingo (I'm surprised how often we agreed with each other on somethjng but that's what makes discussions interesting xD).

Here's to 2024 and more projects

I also started my FirstKhao AU visual novel, and though I thought I would be able to make it in a month or two and then got struck by Health Doing Bad for a long time, I'm definitely determined to finish it next year.

And we keep talking about making Poetry Zines with @springkitten inspired by lakorns/bls we watched and I'd like to try and make it happen 👀

I also want to return to commissions in a better way, because of political situation I haven't been able to continue drawing for my foreign friends but thanks to my other friends who are generous to help me with handling finances for me, I might be able to start drawing requests again! I also spent like 5 months fixing my health that kept me from creating I want to finish old ones and I'm really itching to return to drawings and other projects :D

And I have in my mind mastering pixel and 3d art as a part of my Changing Profession and Career Path in 2024 so let's hope I can lighten up everyone's mood with cooler art and animations 👀

Some of my favorite (recent-ish) Thai bl were:

Bad Buddy: if I'm going to recommend any coming of age romcom college set bl it's this one. The way it uses so many staple tropes in a fresh way, Ohm and Nanon are great actors and really bring a whole other level of energy, the actual conflict in the story is very realistic and heavy and a real topic I think a lot of young adults deal with regarding their families and expectations. So it's mostly romantic comedy, but the heavy moments resonate so that it doesn't really feel unrealistic. It's very high brightness overly kind of fantastical rather than real in presentation and tropes used (quite common in fluff bl like 2gether and My School President and Theory of Love etc), but the chemistry of the leads feels executed very realistically and again the actual delivery of tropes and conflicts feels very grounded in a way. Highly recommended to most peoples tastes tbh (and special mention to My School President, while it was a little Too fluffy for my tastes, it also did a balance of romcom and a grounded heart to the conflicts which I think is part of why it had such big appeal, along with really solid leads that are going to be bringing a lot to any project they work on in the future)

Never Let Me Go: THE action bl as of recently. Gave me everything I could ask, from the leads in The Gifted Graduation bringing their acting game with roles that let them truly show off what they can do, to a high body count of murders and action scenes, mafia sons falling in love with people oh so different from them, a batman esque lead, rich boy falls for poor bodyguard whipping boy trope but also Not quite because the show Really wants to comment on class issues and inequality and makes sure the audience gets the point (a core issue in the relationship is how to be equals given who they are), and a reference to the quote about soulmates that Xena Warrior Princess also uses. It also has Chimon. It's also aesthetically pleasing af. Idk what to tell you, I love when Jojo directs something and this Gave me WAY more than I thought I could get. I'm happy to say that in the post Not Me world we are seeing more action romance bls, not just romcom/fluff ones (though there's always plenty of those too). I personally am eagerly hoping this trend continues and we keep getting at least a few action romance bls a year like this one, Kinnporshe, Manner of Death, Not Me. I've started Laws of Attraction and that's looking similarly promising. (And while I highly recommend Not Me the series, one of my top shows PERIOD... I'm only listing newer shows than that right now).

The Eclipse: this show was exactly what I'd hope it would deliver, and more frankly (because I was hoping for at minimum the Blacklist quality and at max dream hopes The Gifted quality). Well it delivered closer to The Gifted. Politically heavy, really well done in that regard from the overt to the subtle, amazing entire ensemble cast (even the side actors are strong actors that have been in other things), Khaotung and First are both particularly amazing (Khaotung impresses me no matter what role he's given frankly). Aesthetically it's exactly what you'd hope if your hopes like mine were The Gifted but only real evil people no mutants, and explicitly gayer. If you perhaps are willing to have a high school setting, but very much do Not want fluff dominant story and instead a tense mystery with at least half the characters already out and proud queer people (but still some of the cute romance tropes executed a bit less fluffily) then this may be your jam.

Moonlight Chicken: if you'd like multigenerational queer stories, centering on a family slice of life realism piece, this show is <3. The second main pairing is the same actors from My School President and I think they really shine here where the romance relies less on tropes and the dialogue is more realistic so the intensity of scenes really leans on actors. I love their characters in this and they stole the show for me. The first main pairing is messy and adult, with adult problems (like actual ones not just romantic drama: like raising a nephew, running a store, working for a company that's destroying your lovers neighborhood). But also not actually that messy, I'd say in terms of messy it's for the most part wholesome and soft. If you liked 1000 Stars (I did) then this shows realistic slice of life feel will be comfortable and homey, and the amount of skinship in this show is less conservative for even more of a cozy natural feeling.

And the one I'm most anticipating coming out: Only Friends. Khaotung and First lead it, so I'm basically certain the main story will be absolute gold (since I eat up every role they play their acting is just <3 like dude I watched the Shipper for First okay and 5555 Never too Late for Khaotung which was an Amazing show btw). Now.. Only Friends is directed by Jojo (yay for me) and in theory it IS going to be as messy as it looks (and it looks at least as messy as Friendzone). So if Moonlight Chicken is too fluffy and tame for you, then you might want this show on your radar. I think it is slated for August but I'm not sure as I try not to get too hype for things until theyre out so I avoid most news.

Noticing things in my rewatch of Ted Lasso

So, what can I say, Ted Lasso is the thing I've latched onto this time. My immediate family have been watching this show while I have, actually, and this is the ONLY piece of media we all can agree on liking. In all my years of existence I never thought such a piece of media existed. Okay, so rewatching seasons 1 and 2 after season 3 (because you've gotta capitalise on the Apple TV+ subscription lasting 1 month) is pretty interesting and here are the main things that have stuck out to me:

1. Jamie and Roy tend to get along pretty well even in season 1, when they're not actively at each other's throats. In the episode with the charity gala, we actually see from the beginning how much they have in common. They're both very direct and on-point with why they hate each other, and only when faced with each other's direct reasons do they admit to them being somewhat true. They both view each other as arrogant, but when called out on their own arrogance they find it easier to admit it to each other. For 2 players who see themselves as being 'great' in some sense, they understand each other and know that their feelings about each other are mirrored. Even if they still despise the other person. There's also the fact we know Roy used to be a bit like Jamie when he was up-and-coming (a little primadonna b*tch), so they kind-of understand each other in that sense. They also have a similar sense of humour that has roots in insulting each other, to the point where hating each other is actually something they bond on (Jamie smirking and saying "here's to you dying" and Roy genuinely laughs at that because of how prickish it was). They're different forces on the team throughout season 1 (team-player and protector vs selfish star-player) and also contrasted for their ages but they're also paralleled so, so much. I knew they were being paralleled initially but I didn't realise how much until I rewatched that scene and realised how easily they could get along with each other. If this is what they're like when they hate each other's guts, no wonder they're so close when they start begrudgingly appreciating the other.

2. There's a scene in the beginning of the show when Ted fixes the shower pressure in the Richmond locker rooms, and Roy realises this when turning on the shower. Then there's a funny bit after that when Colin walks in and gets knocked to the floor hard by the shower water, right? For some reason he walked straight in looking at the shower head and didn't even look down at the knob to switch it on. Maybe I'm overanalysing but it seems a bit odd to just walk in and push it the full way all while staring towards the ceiling- no matter how low or high the shower pressure is, the water is still going to hit you directly in the face if you stare directly at the shower head! However, if the show was planning all this while for Colin to be gay (which is plausible), this makes a lot of sense given what he says later about "looking down and thinking of global warming". He was looking straight up in this case, but it would make sense why he did not pay attention to what he was doing and got whacked in the face because of it. That's rough buddy.

3. Actually, y'know, speaking of Colin, it also becomes more noticeable on rewatching the series that the footballer we see talk to Dr. Sharon the most is actually him. When she first arrives, afterwards when he recites "I am a strong and capable man, I am not a piece of sh*t" (which is so real of him, me too man), and later when the team plans on going out for drinks- he invites her to join, she agrees to have 1 drink and mentions having a session with him afterwards. He is shown to be really impacted by these sessions too, given he repeats "I am a strong and capable man" numerous times over. Then later he tells Trent in season 3 how those sessions helped him. It's very interesting to me looking back at all of this now, because other than the grindr comment everyone heard and were hoping would pay off in a storyline about being queer in football, I hadn't noticed any of this stuff before! Even if the writers weren't definitely intending for him to be gay in season 1, I feel like season 2 clearly conveys this intent looking back on it. Even in the jokes, there's that bit where Colin's being suffocated by those huge weights he clearly can't hold up not once but twice, and yet continues to use them. His need to appear like he can actually hold up those weights is too heavy and hurting him, the way pretending to be aggressively straight is- lifting heavier weights and physical strength as such is something people connect with being 'more masculine', just as being straight is 'more masculine'. He could just get different weights or something, work his way up, but pretending he can lift these ones is important to him to the point he would continue trying despite it almost suffocating him. Or it's just meant to be a funny joke (which it is), but with this specific character you can interpret it with deeper meaning, which is impressive. It's a really similar thing with how he takes pride in having a fancy lamborghini that is 'way too much car for him' and he cannot drive properly. It's nice to see build-up to this in prior seasons without being based in stereotypes of some sort- it's barely noticeable beforehand but when you watch the prior seasons again, it all tells a story, and I think that makes this some pretty good representation you don't see a lot, especially in media not explicitly marketed to queer people in some form. The effort put into distinguishing and developing its side characters even in the background or in throwaway lines is one of the reasons why this show is so good, in my opinion.

4. At the beginning of season 2, when Jamie talks to Ted about his dad in the bar, he tells Ted he's lucky when Ted says his father was way harder on himself than he ever was on Ted. Ted quirks an eyebrow very quickly and doesn't respond, instead taking a sip of his beer. After knowing about what did happen with Ted's dad, it's something you can interpret either as avoiding the question or as an answer that subconsciously means yes and no. He was lucky to have a dad that was a kind father to him but unlucky because of how his father's harshness towards himself impacted him- whether his father meant for it to or not- and continues to impact him and shape his character through his life (as seen in the scene with his mother at the end of season 3). It really goes to show that you never know what someone else might be going through, or may have gone through; more often than not, it's not about "who's luckier" because you will never truly be able to measure that. Plus, honestly, what's the point in trying? How does that help anyone feel better regarding the actual things hurting them?

5. When the team go to Liverpool to play Everton in season 1, Ted suggests watching a movie or having a pillow fight (strongly favouring the latter). In that episode, they watch a movie, but then later when they go to Amsterdam in season 3 they do actually have a pillow fight! Some real fun continuity there, even it's a shame Ted doesn't get to witness it.

6. So I've already talked about my rewatch of Beard After Hours in more depth here, but another fun little thing I noticed in that is Jane's surname being Payne, which is just really funny to me as a homophone of 'pain'. Almost like a little acknowledgent of her and Beard's constant on-and-off insane relationship causing, well...some amount of pain.

7. There's a bit in season 2 in the episode where Jamie's dad comes to watch the Richmond vs Man City match where it cuts from Sam to Jamie or Jamie to Sam speaking to their dads on their phones (via text or call). Jamie's phone says "Dad" in quotes while Sam's says Dad regularly. Honestly, this one I should've noticed the first time because it requires no extra context but I appreciate the attention to detail with that, showing how differently they view their fathers- Jamie not viewing his father as an actual one and making his dad's role in his life seem smaller by sarcastically not acknowledging him as such (which I quite support him in).

8. I've noticed that in Rebecca's 2 main romance plotlines on the show, AKA with the 2 men she canonically had a significant intellectual and romantic connection with, both of them actually kind of embody what Bantr was trying to do. The idea of texting people with no pictures so that people connect on the basis of who they are with their brains ("where minds can come to undress"). Both with Sam and the Dutchman in Sunflowers (S3E6), when they were connecting, neither of them knew anything about the other's status or public image (and not their names), and connected first and foremost through their thoughts. Given how Rebecca's relationship with Rupert and her rivalry with Rupert takes place very heavily on a public stage, it makes sense that this would be contrasted with a more private form of love as that's what Rebecca needs. Her job involves being widely recognised, dealing with the press, having to respond publicly to everything Rupert does and deal with him at public events such as the gala regularly. His presence in her life is public and shadows her everywhere in the public, connected greatly with her public image. When she is not recognised as Ms. Welton, now owner of AFC Richmond and ex-wife of Mr. Mannion- when she is free of the pressures of people knowing her name and fame, that is when she is able to let go of her anger surrounding Rupert and come into her own as Rebecca in her relationships with other people.

9. Roy's voice seems to change through the season 2, getting a lot harsher and hoarser I believe. Maybe to show him getting into a more mature role as a coach rather than a player, thus having to play into his 'wisdom of age' and so he sounds a bit older as a result. Like a sign of his character growing into himself as someone who isn't young anymore, and needs to find himself beyond being a footballer his whole life. However, I'm not entirely sure why or if this is a reason, maybe this was a choice just for the heck of it or Brett Goldstein deciding that suited Roy and growing into Roy like that.

10. I was rewatching the end of S1E1 when Ted's on the phone with Michelle, saying, "that's what I'm doing though, I'm giving you that space," but after a pause he has to say "yeah, and myself, right", presumably after Michelle said so. I love how this implies that Michells feels that Ted either needs space from her as well after the experiences of therapy and all that, but also that she wants Ted to need the space from her because she doesn't want to be the one person splitting up this family. It has to be a thing that is necessary and healthy for them both, otherwise it'd feel like she caused him to do something that helps her but not him in this relationship. Their relationship, for the most part, has been shown as an example of a healthy marriage and divorce. Even when they broke up or were going through-- all this, they cared about each other and how they were doing and made sure to keep their power in their relationship as balanced. The way I see it, Michelle doesn't want to be the reason this relationship is failing, she wants both of them to need space so they can both be different when they meet again and hopefully fall back in love. It also nicely sets up Ted putting other people before himself continuously, where (to Ted) his decision was worth it because he gets to GIVE HER that space: whether he gets any or needs any or WANTS any is irrelevant to him. He did move for her, which puts pressure on her because, again, she cares about him and feels bad for being the reason he's in this situation. To Ted, she matters far more than his own comfort to the point he voluntarily would move all this way away from her just so it might make her happier. In hindsight, it makes perfect sense with Ted's fatal flaw, so to speak, being his desire to make everyone feel loved and comfortable without regard for himself. I have some mixed feelings about Michelle but those relate specifically to her relationship with Dr. Jacob in season 3. I feel like her being a character who cares about Ted and wants her marriage with him to work is very realistic and I'm glad to get a nice/sympathetic understanding of her through season 1.

There are loads of other really subtle details in the show out there that I'm discovering more of by reading other people's meta and watching their videos discussing it. You know it's a good show if the further you go, the more new things you uncover. If I think of anything to add, I'll probably just add it here, and if anyone seeing this has any thoughts on this show or on what I've said, I would love to hear about them please!

YOOOO pumpkin I posted. the largest tumblr post ever (/exaggeration) to vent a little (i read it all in my head in a matter of fact professor voice. very fun to do and make it less embarrassing! i like presenting my thoughts like someone doing a presentation with proper tone and at least okay-ish grammar lol) and to ramble about a few things and it really helped get things off my chest!!

and i hope my buddy isn’t worrying about me too much. he says i seem down lately, but I feel ok some days, but then I wrote that and realisd I have a lot on my plate. hopefully he knows i am doing ok!! i made sure to include in the post that i am strong and know i can get through this and i am grateful for things coming my way!! and that making a tumblr post to possibly start a conversation or help him understand my brain a bit more is easier than texting to one direct person, because at least with tumblr, IF he sees it, he can just like to let me know he saw, and understand me and my thoughts better, and its easier on my social anxiety to rant to a broad audience on tumblr who don’t know me with the possibility of one person seeing it than to just message one person 28 paragraphs with a guarantee of him seeing it. but i feel much better now!!!

you know, before i do any Actual Work today, i just wanna give a quick shout out to me.

i am a spider with autism. i have either 1. not experienced symptoms regarding interpersonal relationships or 2. developed a masking strategy so early on that has reconciled symptoms. either way, i’ve held down successful sales jobs and generally be able to relate to people pretty well.

however, i have an invisible tether to people. it’s strong when i’m close, but if something changes (i move, start a new job, etc) that tether is severed and i don’t remember them. i remember of them, and think about reaching out to them in the shower or while i’m otherwise preoccupied, but i generally let the tie sever.

a lot of good friendships fizzled. it’s work for me to maintain friendships. i’ve had one best friend that has been in my life for almost 20 years. i met her on neopets when i was 13, and have had the pleasure of meeting her IRL once, and i love her so much. i tried to sever the tether, not on purpose, but it nearly happened; she fought for me. and then i fought for us. it was worth it, and i did it.

but lately in the last 3 or 4 months, i’ve realized i need to start having this attitude about people in my life and in my city. i didn’t just wanna see my friends when my boyfriend was around. that’s not the person or the energy i’m trying to be.

so i started reaching out, especially to two friends in particular that i could feel the tether thinning. so i made it a point to text them, reach out to them. now with one i have a biweekly coffee date, and i have a gym buddy/daily texter in another. both of them are also neurospicy so there’s never any animosity if a text goes unanswered or if someone forgets for a little while.

i like, have friends in my city, now. i’m starting to see doing things with people as less of an obligation, because i am in more control of the occurrences, and because i am just enjoying other people in my life. letting go of some of those barriers is a good thing.

i know no one’s reading this lmao, but i am happy to mark my own progress regardless. go spider!

S6 BUDDIE THOUGHTS

I’m doing my yearly rewatch and I really refuse to believe that buddie wasn’t written the way they were intentionally. I’ve talked about the way they introduced buddie before. there were a lot of hints of early romance undertones. for example, the fact that abbys character got split into two separate ones. maddie and eddie. there were certain scenes where it seemed implied at a little peak into what they had in mind for their relationship. for example, buck just having to mention he loves kids when eddie said he has one, “we may end up real close”, “you two have an adorable son.” but that’s besides the point I’m trying to make. we’ve heard time and time again from tim minear and the crew that they write the story the way they want to and don’t give into fan service. but let’s face it, if you’ve been in this fandom long enough you know Tim’s been accused of stealing ideas from fanfics and posts on twt. which that is in fact fan service. (There’s nothing wrong with giving ur fans what they want tim. genuinely fan service isn’t bad unless you completely lose ur own originality and you haven’t like its still 911.) for example, we’ve been asking for less stressful storylines and now they’re delivering. also henren begins is happening solely bc fans have been begging for it. and one of the main things people have been asking for since I joined this fandom two almost 3 years ago is buddie slowburn. I genuinely am a strong believer that this is going to be the season it all comes to it. They threw buck and eddie into these relationships not because they were gonna be endgame. They were too hastily written for that and we know 911 can write good relationships. It was just to keep the slowburn going a bit longer. And you know what? If im right and this really is the season where we finally get it, then it’s been a beautiful love story. definitely would be #1 on my list and stydia has held that title in my heart for a literal decade at this point. Like they’re not dumb and I feel like this has all been intentional. I don’t see these writers as the type to disappoint their fans like that. I truly believe that Buck and Eddie were always meant to be together, or at least it’s been a heavy consideration for a very long time. With all of the ryan and oliver promotions and Oliver following Ryan again along with him liking buddie posts again. I’m very confident that the wait is over. And I can’t see it tilting out of our favor this season. usually I just ship it for fun and have moments where I know it’s not going to happen but I just feel so confident in this season buddie wise. If I’m wrong then we were played but I don’t think I am.

G1 Climax Day 2 preview

D Block: Tetsuya Naito vs. Jeff Cobb - Naito is 3-0 against Cobb, which might explain why this match doesn't have any sizzle for me. It's just kind of there, and it feels like it's the main event just because Naito's the biggest star on the card.

Naito is my pick to win the whole tournament; pitting him against SANADA at Wrestle Kingdom for the world title just makes a lot of sense. If I'm right, that means New Japan has to spend the whole tour trying to convince you he's not the obvious favorite. And their favorite way to do that is book a guy into a 0-2 or 0-3 start to put them on the brink of elimination. The fact this match is going on last almost telegraphs that the big story of the show will be Cobb getting a win over Naito.

C Block: Tama Tonga vs. EVIL - I don't expect either of these guys to do better than 4-3 in the block. Actually, Evil could do a lot worse if they book him like his buddy SHO in the Best of the Super Jr. a couple of months ago. Tama's cool and I'd like to see him pushed, but seeing as Tanga Loa is finally back those two should get back in the tag title hunt as soon as the G1 ends. I don't think the outcome of this one is going to make much difference in anything.

D Block: Zack Sabre Jr. vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi - Sabre is the NJPW World television champion; Tana is one of the NEVER trios champions. I could see either of these guys winning the block, with Naito barely squeaking by as runner-up.

A few years ago it felt like Sabre had Tana's number, but in singles matches Tana leads the series 6-4, and Sabre hasn't beaten him since 2019. I could see Sabre winning to even the score up a little. Although it would make sense for Tana to get a win to set up a TV title match. Note that this year's block matches have a 20-minute time limit, whereas Sabre's whole deal as TV champ is that nobody can beat him in fifteen. So if Tana does win, I expect it to be about 17 minutes in.

C Block: Eddie Kingston vs. Shingo Takagi - Eddie is the new STRONG champion, having won the belt from KENTA on July 5. I think all of Eddie's New Japan matches have been under the Strong brand, but now he's really in New Japan, y'know? Beating a former IWGP world champion in his G1 debut would be huge, even if Shingo isn't protected as much as some other former world champs. I'd go ahead and do it, but New Japan is more conservative than I am about giving out big statement wins like that.

I was going to say I don't think either guy is going to make it to the knockout stage, but as I look over all of C Block, none of those guys seem like strong candidates. So hell, maybe the idea is to keep the tippy-toppy guys out of the way so Eddie can win the block. It wouldn't be the worst idea in the world. I'll certainly be rooting for that to happen, but I bet I'll be disappointed a lot.

D Block: Alex Coughlin vs. Shane Haste - Coughlin is one of the STRONG tag team champions, alongside his partner Gabe Kidd. I'm sure at some point Coughlin and Kidd will have to contend with Haste and his own partner, Mikey Nicholls. But for now they're just two tag team guys in a singles tournament, so I don't expect much from either of them. I'd put Haste over to remind everybody he exists, but they may want all the new Bullet Club guys to shine in the early going.

C Block: Mikey Nicholls vs. Aaron Henare - I don't think Nicholls will do any better than Haste in this tournament, but chances are he can beat Henare. I really thought last year Henare would make a big impression in the G1, but now I've given up on the poor guy. If he can beat Nicholls, good for him, but I don't expect him to do better than 1-6.

D Block: Hirooki Goto vs. Toru Yano - Goto is a co-holder of the IWGP heavyweight tag team championship. Yano is mainly a comedy bullshit guy in the G1, but occasionally his comedy bullshit leads to a win that shakes up the standings. Interestingly, Yano has not beaten Goto in nine years. Something tells me he's due.

C Block: David Finlay vs. Tomohiro Ishii - Finlay is the NEVER singles champion and Ishii is one of the NEVER trios champions. I'm very confused this is the opening match. Finlay is getting the strangest "new leader of Bullet Club" push I've ever seen. This is a rematch from Finlay beating Ishii in the New Japan Cup, which suggests Ishii might get his win back. If it's me I have Finlay go 5-2 and at least finish second in the block. But I'm not so sure they're as committed to him as I think they should be.

danny canonically (well, canon enough, it was a remark from the developers) has npd right. and I have hpd and bpd and they share a lot of symptoms, being cluster b personality disorders and all. so I can proudly say

that man has awful identity issues. he spent so long pretending to be other people for praise, attention and safety that he has no idea who "Danny Johnson" is at all. sometimes he isn't even sure he's actually human. he likely dissociates a lot. he only really thought about it a while after he got taken by the entity, seeing there isnt anything to do outside of trials hes likely been in his own mind most of the time.

he may act buddy-buddy with them as a sort of second nature but he's really insecure with himself and so manifests it as hatred for other killers. (it may also be the 'canon' reason ghostface players tend to be very chill with survivors, despite him being a misanthrope. he feels safer with them because he has the cloak of superiority and being a threat with them which he doesnt have with the killers ykyk) after all he's just an average guy with a knife and knowledge on stalking, hes not overly strong without the entity's help, or tall, or supernatural in any way. to him his "backstory" isnt even bad as any of the other killers, to him at least. (it definitely was, man was literally groomed to be a murderer by his dad. but your trauma never looks as bad as the other people's you know)

also hes FTM and was 3 years on T up until he got taken by the entity (his body time kinda paused after that so he didnt revert to being feminine dw). he still has a set of tits and a coochie because in his words "surgery recovery is a waste of time, it will get suspicious if ghostface goes silent for 6 whole months" :3 he's happy with his body though... mostly. anyway thats the reason he's always hunching during trials. cant wear a binder during a chase thatd be inconvenient (please imagine a ghostface coughing and wheezing and begging the survivors to wait for him now. thank you)

he's still silly, a little clumsy but its one of the things he's less insecure about tbh. an all serious ghostface is not fun and not what wes craven would want.

I def agree on the dissociation and fucked up sense of identity, mans is a messed up lil fuck and def needs to go see an entity ordered therapist. I personally def put Danny on the aro spectrum (i dont think ace personally, aroallo moment imo) though i think more on the demi or greyaro side, and if any of the survivors are ever like, flirty he just stares at them and slowly shakes his head because oh no babygirl one thats a bad idea to try and do and two you are not the person my brain has made an exception for thats for fucking sure

Alsoalsoalso very down for him not being friends with the other killers bc hatred and lowkey jealousy but I think he looks at the legion kids and is like "Cool, I'm your uncle now." because they're the only ones like him at all, just normal dudes even smaller than he is because theyre basically just fucked up teenagers so he feels a slight kinship and he definitely doesn't play favorites at all (this is a lie Suzy is his perfect little baby and he goes full cool uncle mode with her 100% all the time)

Also Also because self shipping noises when/if a survivor or killer (im using survivor mostly bc that's where I see myself self insert wise) does catch his interest in a romantic he genuinely just fucking panics and doesn't know what the fuck to do about it. He fumbles with them a lot and suddenly most of his smooth and cool dude exterior? Gone. Vanished. Fumbling even more than usual and it makes him SO MAD so he just.......threatens them a lot and hooks them a lot because fuck you stop making me feel things i hate you but also please just like hold my hand or something what the fuck

When finally the survivor is like DUDE WHAT THE FUCK IS YOUR DAMAGE and blows up on his ass he's like IDK MAN YOU GIVE ME BIG FEELINGS AND I DON'T LIKE IT COULD YOU STOP MAYBE????

anyways when that shits sorted I imagine it being a mutual (healthy) obsession thing where Danny treats his partner like they're the entity incarnate and partner does similar for him and everyone is disgusted by it but at least everytime partner is around in trials he's nice to them so like they can't complain.

If it was a killer though they would become absolute terrors and no one would be safe ever. Skip through the moldy corn fields holding hands kinda shit. Absolute fucking idiots.

(Also at one point he tries to give partner a bouquet of flowers except it was like 4 dandelions and a leaf and he ate one of the dandelions)

there’s a lot of little details and bits of genshin lore that i love but if i had to choose one it would be that hu tao’s birthday is the same as mine :3 KIDDING one of my favorite random genshin facts is how zhongli once invited xinyan, a rock musician well known for her intense and (literally) fiery concerts, to play some music for the wangsheng funeral parlor

(this is from xinyan’s voicelines btw. do you think zhongli likes rock music because he’s the lord of rocks)

and as for the headcanons!! i can come up with sooo many behold an assortment of genshin thoughts (most of which involve hu tao and xinyan because they are very special to me) (im putting them under a readmore because i got carried away sorry)

• one of my favorite sort-of fanon dynamics is zhongli and his adopted kids ganyu (eldest daughter least likely to get in trouble with the millelith) xiao (middle child whos been an angsty teenager for the last 2000 years) and hu tao (baby of the family with the strongest Gremlin Energy)

• xiao hates zhongli’s new boyfriend childe for Many Reasons such as: he’s spent months in liyue and still can’t use chopsticks, every time he sees xiao he ruffles his hair and calls him “little man”, one time he unleashed an evil god and almost destroyed liyue harbor

• zhongli’s other two children are a little less hostile towards childe. ganyu doesn’t fully trust him because of That One Time He Almost Destroyed Liyue Harbor but he makes zhongli really happy so he’s okay for now …and hu tao thinks he’s kind of a dumbass but his job requires him to kill a lot of people so he’s good for business

• hu tao made childe a customer loyalty card (“10% Off Your 10th Cremation Service!”) however despite childe thinking it was funny, zhongli wouldn’t let her make more copies to give out to the general public

• okay so usually in fanart/fanfics the liyue kids friend group is either xingqiu chongyun xiangling and xinyan or xingqiu chongyun xiangling and hu tao. but why not both. xingqiu chongyun xiangling xinyan AND hu tao AND throw in yun jin as well. all of them are buddies peace and love on planet teyvat

• hu tao has a sort of celebrity crush on beidou (i mean who wouldn’t-) and then she meets kazuha and shes like CAPTAIN BEIDOU HAS A KID?

• hu tao: woaaahh its so nice to meet beidou’s new son… i bet beidou wouldn’t just adopt anyone so you must be super cool and badass because um captain beidou is soooo cool and badass and strong and sexy and did you know she beat a sea monster without a vision and her biceps are big enough to l- kazuha: okay how about we talk about something else

• anyway kazuha is an honorary member of the Liyue Kids Friendship Squad

• xinyan and beidou are also like family but xinyan’s parents are still alive (i think) so xinyan thinks of beidou as more of a cool aunt figure. xinyan and kazuha are kind of like siblings to each other tho

• xinyan is like genuinely very kind and good-natured so i think that aside from people who are assholes to her for being loud/a rock musician she can get along with pretty much anyone. also she just. seems like a really good friend so i think all her friends should love n support her and go to as many of her concerts as they can

• one time when xinyan was having a concert in liyue harbor and chongyun got on stage and started drumming and doing backup vocals bc of his yang energy shenhe passed by and saw them and after the concert while xingqiu was tending to chongyun she approached xinyan

• shenhe: i see you’re a friend of my nephew. your music is very unique. it both soothed and aggravated my homicidal urges at the same time xinyan: uhhh well…th. thank you miss shenhe? i’ll take that as a compliment … if you’re ever in the area again you’re always welcome to rock out at my concerts

• i love yun jin and i love yun jin x xinyan i think they would make a very cute couple HOWEVER. i think hu tao x xinyan would be cute as well. theres a lot of potential there but they barely interact in canon and ive only ever seen one person who maybe ships them uwaaaaaa

• in a modern au hu tao and xinyan would both play gacha rhythm games and they would add each other as friends in-game. hu tao and xinyan are on each other’s bandori friendlist
