saw your post abt rapunzel manipulating tim in their convo and god hard agree it Is concerning that so many ppl didn't see it. also crazy to me that ppl are mad at tim and defending rapunzel, saying that they would have taken the book too because tim was being rude etc. to me it seemed that both tim the character and ally the player Wanted to believe that rapunzel wasn't part of the plan and was good but just kind of strange, and both are successfully fooled. tim absolutely fumbles the interaction and ally could have played things better, but rapunzel was so clearly in charge of the conversation, leading him into saying worse and worse things and putting his foot in his mouth while tim was genuinely trying to be nice. tim is awkward and blunt and eccentric with Everyone, it's weird that ppl are saying he was being singularly rude to her or patronizing her or that he deserved to get the book taken. that interaction was clumsy as hell and so many words could have been chosen better but tim so clearly was trying so hard to fix his initial fuck up and be friendly w her in the same weird way he talks to everyone. I don't see how ppl came out of that scene on her side even if tim was a little rude and unfortunate w his word choice, and it's concerning to see ppl being like "ha take that stupid old man!!" abt the book being taken + in defense of a character we met an episode and a half ago and who we have been told outright is an expert at deceiving people. the princesses are so so interesting as characters and the morals going on are complex and that's a whole different conversation, but I feel like no matter whether you love rapunzel or not, ppl should be able to recognize that she was manipulating tim in that moment and taking advantage of his trusting disposition. not trying to start discourse in your ask box ofc!!! I've just seen No One Else express discomfort w rapunzel in that scene

anon this ask has been living in my head rent free since you sent it, i've been stewing over how to respond because y e s. for context, check out this post to save discourse on main (this is about to be a long one of fan critic analysis, get your popcorn and settle in if you wanna read, this is the longest post i've ever made), im gonna put my thoughts and response under a read more, sososo many spoilers under the cut read at your own risk

These were all in the replies and tags and I want to reply to all of them bc they're all worthy of being talked about bc i feel like the majority of the fandom is almost scared to critique?? So like let's talk about it since nobody else seems to be taking this approach from what I can tell (thank you to you anon for being on my side as well as the rest of you who are screaming with me) I will begin by saying that my original post is not critiquing ally the player, or any of the other players. i understand that they were in that dome, filming a session of dungeons and dragons, and improv acting and roleplaying for many hours on end with back to back episodes. i kind of get ally and the rest of the table maybe just wanting to "hope for the best", especially ally as they are quite a "hope for the good in others" type of person. it's frustrating from a viewer perspective sure, but i totally dont blame anyone ever for making a "wrong" or "non-optimal" choice while playing a ttrpg, they just have the misfortune of being filmed while doing so. i myself have made tons of bag fumbles while playing dnd, even when i thought everything through ten times over. so anything i have said or will say forward isn't to put any shouldering on to the people playing these silly storybook characters, like, i Get It

What i do want to critique is the fan response, which is the more worrying one!!! like i said in my original post, i was surprised by my d20 watch buddy having a similar response to ally. the total "oh, maybe she's just quirky bc of the self isolation, maybe she's autism rep" approach. my friend, love her to death, is also one of those "sees the best in others and hope everyone is always aiming to be their best selves" type of person, very similar to ally. i came online after that episode expecting everybody on the fanbase level to be screaming with me in a "i told you so!!" way

instead. i came online and saw people just on the attack and the defense in absolutely skewed ways!! out of NOWHERE, all these fans have come on to post about how "tim was patronizing her, and thats why she stole the book" "wow i would have hated being called girly and honey as well" "wow these conversations really didnt go their way why was tim so mean to her :(" or the opposite of "rapunzel is the evilest person to ever exist bc xyz these princesses are evil villains" or "we need to protect these princesses bc they just didnt know any better uwu"

i feel like, on a fan level, me and you anon (+all these lovely folks in the notes of that post) were the only ones screaming "hold on, that is literally not the same media i just watched"

i've seen before a lot of people be like "wow, media literacy is at an all time low" and i never really understood that until i saw the reactions after that episode. as a fan or viewer watching any media, we have the privilege of seeing more about the media than the people who are creating it. that's the best joy of being a viewer, we get to sit back and spot those foreshadowing moments and bite our nails in suspense when the music goes creepy and see the artwork and overall, we have the privilege of catching vibes that maybe those acting in it do not. this leads to those bonding moments of "i told you so" "wow im biting my nails and pacing" "oh they're gonna REGRET that". and, an "oh my god no no no do not hug her she wants to take your book god now she's feeling you up with her hair she's looking for the book ROLL INITIATIVE!!!!". it leads to glorious moments of ~dramatic irony~, a literary term for literally when something is happening in a story and the readers can catch it, but the protagonist probably didnt bc they're not seeing the full picture. While watching, from my perspective, yeah it was frustrating to watch the player bag fumble turn after turn, but it's a game of dnd, they film so many back to back, they don't get the same experience as us. however.

brennan did a great job at dropping the foreshadowing, to the point of not even so much subtly foreshadowing, he DIRECTLY TOLD THEM rapunzel was a liar and uses her words as knives. like someone pointed out, the players even PAID for that information, with the golden bridle. by the time they met these princesses, they probably knew the most about rapunzel's true nature over all the other princesses, that she uses her charisma to her advantage. the players made their choice to do the diplomatic route, to split up and chat. ally did the right thing for picking rapunzel with tim's 19 charisma stat, it would have been charisma against charisma, and an even playing field for someone they have been explicitly told is a master of words and deceit.

as fans, we've seen these episodes edited and put back to back. clues are lined up in a row. was it frustrating to see ally playing tim in a naïve way? sure. but tim's been pretty naïve this whole time, so you could stack it up to a character choice. what's more frustrating is seeing the responses of viewers being blindsided by the book thieving and chalking it all up to "evil vs good" and rapunzel's choice shaking them to their cores.

by this point in the story, by the time you get to that episode, rapunzel already gave enough bad vibes with the talk of her charismatic deceits and with her hair everywhere spying on them. maybe that last one wasn't explicitly stated, but it was heavily implied to the point of gerard writing the plans on a note instead of wanting them said out loud by elody, a scene that happened way before tim's. by the time we see rapunzel get to the kitchen, she is INSTANTLY catty. someone described her on the post as "eldritch regina george" and. yes. exactly. eldritch regina george. from our privileged spot as a viewer, rapunzel comes in, puts on the fake smile, puts on her fake tone, and says "what are you doing in here? :)". she was already ready to fight timothy. that first sentence was hostile. she was OFFENDED and checking on tim to make sure mother goose wasn't counter-spying. i honestly didnt think that would have to have been explicitly stated, she was in attack mode and plastered the fake smile for a show so that she had the upperhand in the conversation that was about to happen. this is something that fans should have at least caught on to right off the bat, we've been explicitly told that she is fake more than she is honest for the sake of being a "performative person"

the conversation happens, and she starts becoming more verbally hostile. "i dont know, what SHOULD we do hehe. it's ruined now :)" "no use in crying over spilt milk *pours milk with hair on the floor with a smile* oh no :)" "...or if it was on purpose :/ :)" "why dont you go get a mop :)" "i chose to be charming :)"

every sentence she replied with was carefully chosen. as viewers, we can watch brennan's face in full clarity of intimidation. we can have the knowledge that has been provided to not trust rapunzel as she is a charismatic spy who has words for knives. in my opinion, even without those clues before now, her show that she put on in the kitchen should have been enough as is to show that she is acting maliciously and with hostility. the smile is there as to not incite physical violence on tim's part bc then it would make TIM look like the bad guy if he attacked first. by the time she goes in for the hug. im sorry. but ally the player should have caught that, the whole table should have caught that, and-more importantly-the fans should have caught that. we all watched the same thing. we have all been told the same information. to purposefully ignore all of the red flags just to pull a "well tim was kind of mean and patronizing, and rapunzel doesnt have social skills from being locked in a tower, i forgive her, wow i didnt see that coming" is absolutely *batshit*

the lack of people catching on is what concerns me. i've met TONS of people growing up (sorry here, im all for women's wrongs, but mainly cis-girls tbh) who act like rapunzel does. from middle school and high school bullies/mean girls. mean girls at college. from parents or teachers or bosses. from normal adults in my life. they always have the same tone and inflections in the same places. the same faces with the wrinkled nose. the same sickly sweet smile. brennan played rapunzel, a known manipulator, perfectly. to a T. he embodied it fully. people JUST LIKE RAPUNZEL walk amongst us every day. i can guarantee you that even these fans that didnt catch it have met people like rapunzel in their own lives.

rapunzel is a character yes, but she is a character that mimics a masterclass manipulator. she IS the mean girl, the regina george. it leaked out of her every word, tone, and inflection. every single thing told about her and shown was, in no world, some "uwu the sweet bean was locked in a tower and doesnt have social skills". that was her origin, her start point. just like sleeping beauty locked in a castle, snow locked in her coffin. rapunzel directly says "i chose to be charming. :)." she had her origin of no social skills, her sad origin of being locked in isolation in her tower, and said "this is my greatest flaw, so i am going to dedicate my life to improving this skill bc it's what stopping me from achieving my goals." she trained her social skills to be good. too good. so good that she hopes nobody will catch her sweet charming self in the act of malicious intentions. this. was. directly. stated.

it worries me on a psychological level of the fans. yes it shows a lack of media literacy, something is frustrating on a fan-to-fan level. it shows a lack of ability of critical thinking. it shows a lack of ability to participate in dramatic irony, a necessary literary device to instill tension into a horror campaign. but also, and to what is probably my main point in this novel long hot take: it has real world implications. mean girls like rapunzel are a guarantee in life. i'm sorry, but it's true. maybe the person acts differently, maybe they aren't as obvious or more obvious. but these people walk amongst us. they use the same tone and same cadence to their words. these manipulators see what they want, and devise a way to convince the person into giving them what they want. rapunzel did not use the Charm Person spell, or the Friendship spell. She used. her words. like a normal human being. and by doing so, we as the fans were able to catch on and should have had a moment of "RUN GOOSE, RUN AWAY, NO DONT LET HER HUG YOU". but instead, a lot of people turn a blind eye to these manipulators in their lives. they pull a "aw but they have a tragic backstory, they're just confused and need love :/" "they cant be THAT bad..." they see a sweet little smile on the face and an upticked tone of voice, and go "well, they're playing nice, so now i have to play nice bc otherwise im the bad guy here" which!!! you do not!!

this is exactly how manipulators worm their ways in, this is what ALLOWS manipulation to work in its various forms. it's how people get trapped in abusive relationships. it's how people get scammed. on a personal end, i lived a narcissistic manipulator for a long time growing up, and it was exhausting. once you could put down the rose colored glasses and see right through the act, you notice how every inch of their mannerisms are performative. everything they say and do comes with the caveat of them wanting something from you and are trying to butter you up in the meantime. if you catch and call onto it, they IMMEDIATELY turn on you, they sneer and retreat to their next target who it will fool. the cycle continues, the next target is selected.

on a fan level, if we as fans cannot play into dramatic irony as a practice, if we cannot exit our seats of mind to catch on to those "eldritch regina george" quirks at the bud in a piece of fictional media where the puzzle has been handed on a silver platter, then there is a l o t more work to be done on 1) general media literacy 2) ANY fandom perception on media and 3) general awareness of how to spot and deal with manipulators in real life. if you can't catch on to it in a silly fictional ttrpg media, how do you expect to catch on to it in real life? how many of these same fans are trapped in manipulative relationships around them? how many more will they fall for bc of the "oh no but they have tragic backstory so it's forgiven uwu"? as fans, you cant sit there in the same breath saying that tim was condescending to rapunzel and then follow it up with not noticing what was ACTUALLY happening in real time. if you wanna say that rapunzel was ALLOWED to be a manipulator because of her origin, what other manipulators are you defending in your real life? how many of these manipulators continue their tricks BECAUSE they know naïve people exist and will fall for it? how many have been enabled in the same cycle bc it worked on one so it'll work on the next?

i wish i had a fun way to conclude this absolutely massive chunk of fandom critique gibberish, but i just dont. i wish i could find a more comprehensive way to scream about this, so take this post as me SCREAMING about this, anon my dm's are open if we wanna rant some more

♡ you sit in front of tsukishima in homeroom while yamaguchi sits beside him so when you leaned back and asked him if you could borrow a pencil and he spat back a snarky remark about you being too irresponsible to care for your own pencils, yamaguchi hastily offered you one of his own before scolding tsukishima

♡ he explained to his clueless friend that being nasty to people isn’t a good way to get them to like you

♡ so perhaps he should be nicer :)

♡ honestly, tsukishima would’ve just looked yamaguchi straight in the eyes and went ‘no’, if it wasn’t for the fact you shot tadashi the sweetest smile anD PLAYFULLY BLEW HIM A KISS AFTER HE JUST GAVE YOU A DAMN PENCIL LIKE WTF

♡ what irritated you was how dismissive he was being of your questions though, as he was clearly trying to lead you to believe that you were crazy and he’s just always been a nice guy

♡ but as soon as he figures out that he angered you, he’ll instantly switch back to him normal self - draining his mind of the hours of phycology studying he did last night to just pretend like it never happened

♡ and if he’s feeling flirty, he might be extra mean to you （￣︶￣）

♡ also he makes a mental note to never take yamaguchi’s romance advice ever again 🙄

you sighed, removing your hand from your bag after desperately rummaging through it in search of a pencil once again - deja vu. once you accepted that a pencil wasn’t going to materialise out of thin air, you peered over your shoulder and tapped the corner of yamaguchi’s desk, who wore a suspicious grin which you decided against questioning.

“yamaguchi, do you think i could borrow a pencil again? sorry, this is the last time, i swear. i’ll be sure to get some on my way home after school tod--”

yamaguchi dropped the line him and tsukishima had rehearsed many times beforehand, while clutching his pencilcase dear to his chest, “woah, (y/n). you’re so irresponsible. sorry, i can’t lend one of my pristine pencils to someone who is too forgetful to remember to buy some; what if you forget to return it to me?”

tsukishima cringed at how forced it sounded but he couldn’t help but admire yamaguchi's dedication to his role. this allowed tsukishima to swoop in, pencil in hand, “here.” that wasn’t in the script but he panicked! okay, now, eye contact.

you just sat there and stared at both of them with the most dumbfounded look plastered on your face. what just happened? why were they both acting like they were in drama class? and why are they both so bad at acting? they’re both passing performing arts for fucks’ sake!

kentarō kyōtani

♡ sorry but i firmly believe kyōtani is the sorta guy to be extra mean to ppl he fancies smh

♡ the rest of them just act (somewhat) like themselves around their crush but kyōtani is himself2 (himself^2)

♡ like one time yahaba found you trembling in your locker bc you had gotten mud on mad dog’s white shoes so he chased you through the hallways of the school, threatening to trek mud on your forehead

♡ yahaba took it upon himself to investigate as to why kyōtani was so rude to you and he got his answer as soon as he mentioned your name to mad dog and the boy’s face immediately flushed red

♡ so after practise, yahaba schools mad dog on how to get chicks (⌐■_■)

♡ in short, his advice was ‘good guys get laid’ and for kyōtani’s understanding, ‘good’ and ‘kind’ were interchangeable

♡ mad dog wasn’t completely oblivious to how he treated you and he was aware that he was far from ‘kind’

♡ although he usually doesn’t listen to people in general, yahaba seemed to know what he was talking about so he figured there was no harm in trying to be nice

♡ but ngl, he just spent the rest of the day wondering...what is kind?

♡ after a few messages back and forth with yahaba, he figured that the best place to start was by apologising for - y’know - chasing you around the whole school

“oi!” kyōtani bellowed through hallway, paying no mind to the students that cast him dirty looks as his sights were locked on you. standing unsuspecting by your locker, stuffing your textbooks into your bag until you heard his deep voice echo through the hall, to which you visibly perked up and began frantically looking around.

he marched towards you, hands in pockets and when you noticed him out of the corner of your eye, you were more than ready to drop all your shit and bolt away. but he didn’t let you as before you were able to take off on your heels, he grabbed your shoulder and spun you around to face him - then he noticed your hands raised in defence by your face and your head hung low.

his heart sank and his grip on your shoulder immediately softened, “i’m not gonna punch you, idiot.” he spat, rolling his eyes and gritting his teeth, trying to appear angry in hopes you’d mistake his light blush for pure rage.

“i just wanted to say that i felt bad for chasing you through the halls yesterday - you didn’t stand a chance so i guess it was a bit unfair.” he said, frowning as you replied with silence so the duty fell on him to fill it, “and i got the stain out, anyway so.”

more silence. lovely.

suddenly, he puffed his cheeks out as his eyes snapped to meet yours and he roared, “ARE YOU GONNA FUCKING SAY SOMETHING OR ARE YOU TOO BRAINDE-”

“are you wearing eyeliner?”

and that was the true story behind why you missed last period, because you and kyōtani had a 30 minute conversation about eyeliner and make-up, then he convinced you to skip the rest of class with him so he could buy you ramen as an apology gift.

so yeah, he figured that perhaps he should try being nice more often.

kiyoomi sakusa

♡ he didn’t need someone to tell him to be nicer, he’s just predisposed to attempt to show kindness to someone he is fond of

♡ in his mind, showing kindness, respect and stripping himself of all his personality = the only way to be desirable

♡ (ofc this takes place before he meets atsumu tho lol)

♡ so it’s not the realisation that’s the problem for him, it’s the execution

♡ like how is he supposed to be nice without either sounding creepy or condescending?

♡ *cut to sakusa practising in the bathroom mirror* ‘your hand looks- no-’ he scoffs, flicking cold water onto his face, ‘your hair looks cool- pretty- nice?’

♡ *camera pans to sakusa laying in bed, staring intently at the ceiling while imagining vivid and scarily detailed scenarios about ways he could mess up while talking to you*

♡ *camera zooms in on sakusa’s face as he manifests a nicer version of himself*

♡ he might - depending on how insecure he is - watch one of those psychology videos or read a wikihow for help

♡ but other than that, he independently tries to alter his personality in order to gain your favour bc..true love ?

you smiled as a basketball rolled up to your feet during gym class, followed by the sound of someone approaching you and upon raising your gaze, your eyes met sakusa’s unmistakable black ones. his face hovered only a few inches away from yours due to the fact you had both reached down to pick up the ball at the same time.

he quickly pulled himself away, tucking the basketball under his elbow as he adjusted his mask so it properly covered his face to ensure that you didn’t see the light blush slowly spreading across his cheeks. he then proceeded to blurt out what he had been rehearsing for the past few nights, “oh, thank you, (y/n). your hair looks lovely today, by the way.”

you giggled, holding your hands firmly by your side to avoid fidgeting and making it obvious that his sudden comment flustered you, “thanks, sakusa. and, if we’re handing out compliments today, i didn’t know you were good at any sport other than volleyball but you’re doing surprisingly well at basketball.” you joked, your lips slowly curling into a cocky smirk, “though, i don’t think you’d stand a chance against my team.”

god, you’re such a tease. you make it so hard for him to be nice to you. so, of course, your comment returned his ability to utter almost every sarcastic comment that comes to mind - screw being likeable. “you think so?” he quirked a brow, tossing the ball onto your lap then pacing backwards, “go on, then.”

♡ it was probably those tips on social media that told him he has to be nicer

♡ and plus he saw terushima get all the chicks and he was just sitting there like ‘where are my bitches at? 🥺’

♡ anyway, all the guys on social media that had girls lining up outside their door always had one thing in common: misogyny obnoxious personalities !!

♡ and his whole personality was a sacrifice suna was willing and ready to make for just a crumb of cooch 🤲

♡ though you weren’t exactly his crush yet, suna thought you were the best person to carry out this experiment with bc he heard through the grapevine that you had a crush on him so perhaps this would make you happy

♡ he didn’t prepare much beforehand though which he immediately regretted as soon as he approached you bc admittedly, his game plan of ‘be self-assured but friendly’ was a bit vague

♡ so he basically just had to bullshit through a whole, awkward conversation with you while wearing a forced ‘bold’ smirk which, in reality, looked as though he had just seen tiddies for the first time

♡ hardly self-assured or friendly

♡ also, the fact you thought he was playing a prank on you must’ve drastically altered the results of his experiment

♡ at one point he says something extremely stupid you’d just quit playing along and just blurt out ‘wtf is wrong with you today’

♡ to which he’d be like ��ahaha, nuthin much bbg, how bout you?’

♡ THE EXPERIEMNT ISN’T OVER UNTIL HE SAYS IT’S OVER OKAy?!

you rubbed your temples in order to soothe the throbbing headache suna gave you simply by existing. like yes, you had a crush on him 10 minutes ago - but that was before he came up to you and started acting like terushima on dodgy medication. “oh and your skin is glowing bab--”

“jesus christ, rintarō, shut up!” you cried, gripping the edge of your skirt to prevent your self from delivering a swift punch right to his stupid face. he’s seriously gotten on all your nerves at this point; firstly, by spamming your phone in the middle of the night asking for homework answers (accompanied by cursed memes) as he actually managed to wake you up. secondly, by acting so oblivious to the fact you clearly had a crush on him and now, this!

heat rose to his cheeks in embarrassment as his creepy smile instantly fell right back into his resting bitch face, “this isn’t working, is it?”

“what’s not working?”

suna scoffed, rolling his eyes - his façade having evidently disappeared. “this.” he sighed, looking around as if someone was going to save him before his eyes finally settled on you and he was reminded of what he wanted in the first place, his sparkle was rekindled for just a moment which caused him to blurt out, “just fuck me already, i’m not asking for much.”

so i’ve finally watched s3 of free! and i wanted to put my thoughts in about it and hopefully also get some ppl to reply (respectfully) with their own input? also sorry if my knowledge of free seems spotty or incomplete since i don’t obviously have all free lore burned into my head so pls inform or correct me on anything i’m missing!

anyways before even watching s3, i noticed it was pretty widespread that s3 was rather disappointing or at least fell short to s1&2. and not only that, but i could see that s3 was likely going to be a bit disappointing just bc of how many less ppl were interested in it or even knew about it (ofc popularity=/=good but i doubted that the loss in numbers was just bc time had passed) sadly, the season actually exceeded my expectations of the worst.

first of all, i think way too many characters were introduced without any need of them being there. ofc not all of them seemed worthless to being there, but i think at least half of them didn’t have a need of being there (or at least didn’t need to appear as much as they did) or they could’ve at least waited to introduce them. don’t get me wrong, i loved characters like isuzu and albert, but with how little they appeared or added to the plot, i don’t think they were necessary at all. they introduced so many characters and kind of tried to forcefully endear them to us but it just seemed really shallow and random. i was really uninterested in the new iwatobi hs sc tbh (i love rei and nagisa, but i just don’t feel anything for the new members tho it was funny how the new manager is interested in fat instead of muscles) i don’t think isuzu was worth introducing, but i do get why they introduced albert at least. he was supposed to serve as their first rival introduced strictly from the professional world, and to emphasize there are many people above them not just in japan but the “world stage” but i definitely think they could’ve waited on that until the free 2021 movie tbh. plus i felt that any conflict he brought to haru was resolved within 1 maybe 2 episodes so yea they definitely didn’t really need him bc he hasn’t had much impact (yet) if anything, they could’ve just had him briefly appear at that training camp haru was at to race him and beat him to remind him that he still has a long way to go to get to the top. but all other appearances of albert were so extra and unnecessarily emphasized how inhumanely talented he was (the arcade scene, the thing with the chopsticks,etc) it just felt like really weak foreshadowing

also, the main conflict in s3 was just way too prolonged and solved unsatisfactorily. first of all, i don’t know why the blame seemed to be shifted by ikuya and hiyori almost solely to haru, like yes he was the one who quit first but it wasn’t an attack specifically to ikuya and the rest of them left too, so they should’ve held more grudges on haru makoto and asahi rather than just haru (or if anything at least have more blame on asahi bc makoto at least talked to ikuya beforehand) like did he just forget asahi also made a promise to not move away? honestly from the content they gave us, i’d argue that asahi and ikuya were actually closer than how ikuya and haru were, since i feel like most of the latter relationship was based on ikuya admiring harus swimming.

second of all, hiyori was another character i found so unnecessary and just weirdly protective over ikuya. he repeatedly gets in the way between them and ikuya when ikuya never said he didn’t want to talk to them (and it’s not like talking to them is gonna give him a health relapse) and so he just seemed to be there to prolong the conflict between them which was irritating. not even natsuya, ikuya’s actual brother, was that obsessive over him so i really don’t get hiyori. even sousuke, who was actually friends with rin before haru and the others were was not that possessive over rin, and there was actually pretty good reasoning why he had a grudge against haru (he didn’t see haru taking swimming as seriously as rin and thought that would cause him to hold back rin who looked up to haru, and was jealous that haru who had the talent to swim the world stage with rin wasn’t taking advantage of it when sousuke wanted to but couldnt bc of his injury) and like what right did he have to say to haru that his swimming hurts others when it didn’t even affect ikuya negatively (instead it inspired him and led to him wanting to swim like haru) like how haru originally thought it did to rin and how it did to asahi in high speed 2?

third of all, like i said before the way they solved the conflict between ikuya and the rest made little sense. like yes harus swimming is magical but i don’t get how swimming IM with him could instantly solve all the problems between them. (ik that it was based on the promise they made to race each other but i’ll get into that part and how shallow it felt later) if anything, i think what would’ve been more impactful was something happening to ikuya that made him realize that he can/should rely on/trust others, (maybe a more serious accident?) and enjoy swimming with a team and not just alone since his personal conflict was that he thought swimming alone was better than swimming with others when actually he was lonely (at least it was in starting days). and that wouldn’t even have to be with haru and the others that he learns that lesson. it could be with his own university team and hiyori, which would give hiyori a much better purpose of being there. (or they could’ve just not had him exist) if they were so inclined to have closure between ikuya and the other boys by having them resolve ikuyas personal conflict, i feel like it should’ve been at least haru AND asahi (maybe even makoto too but idk how thatd work when he’s no longer competing) racing him in the same race (if not them doing a relay but i guess they didn’t want to make it too obvious than they already were that they were just recycling the plot of s1 (lol)) if anything i think they could’ve even waited for them to reconcile while they were on the olympic team, but ig kyoani didn’t want to wait that long to reintroduce ikuya and wanted to use s3 to warm ppl up to the idea of ikuya being on the olympic team which they didn’t do very well considering how bad the development was

also what was with ikuya saying he swims his own way while obviously taking sm inspiration fron the way haru swam? it was so contradictory and even as kids haru told ikuya to swim his own way when ikuya told him that he wanted to be like haru and he understood that obviously but didn’t apply that to his actions at all? and i’m surprised haru was ok with ikuya blatantly copying him when i vaguely rmb that he’s been shown to get annoyed with even makoto when he seemed to be doing that?

another fault in having all these characters was that haru’s actual personality seemed to be taken away for the sake of these characters.

they wanted to establish a deeper relationship between ikuya and haru, but it just seemed so off the way they went about it in free! haru promising ikuya to race him just felt so ooc to me and had little emotional impact tbh bc of the lack of reasoning i felt haru had to agree to such a thing besides him promising ikuya that just bc he asked rather than bc he actually wanted to race ikuya. (while it took rin weeks to get haru to warm up to him and then agree to the relay, and seeing the process of haru getting used to the idea then openly enjoying swimming with the others was really touching) i think they just added that to make harus quitting have more impact on ikuya but i don’t think it was necessary at all when they already made plans with the rest to swim the relay again and win. if they wanted to make it seem like ikuya and haru had more of a one on one relationship with each other they should’ve gone into more about how haru saw the same darkness in ikuya that he did in himself like in high speed 2. make them bond over their similarities since i’m pretty sure ikuyas purpose as a character is to give haru a rival that is like how sousuke is to rin is; which is being rivals while being two of the same person. (in contrast to haru and rin who are very different and are rivals that inspire each other) but the way they try to establish the relationship between ikuya and haru pales sm in comparison to sousuke and rin that it’s a bit laughable, even more so in those occasional moments where they try to act like ikuya can measure up to rin’s impact on haru

another much more obvious event where haru’s character is forced to act ooc for the sake of the establishment of another character is with albert. yes, haru has grown a lot from the beginning of the series and has gotten a lot more open, expressive, and friendly, but that’s mostly just to the friends around him, but that’s not even to all of them (he still seems to find kisumi irritating and in TYM tries to leave at the sight of him lol) so him noticing, randomly approaching a stranger he doesn’t know a single thing about to help them order food and then even going far as to have lunch with him was the most blatantly ooc thing in the season. i think he may be polite enough to help him order his food but i don’t get why he even noticed albert in the first place. they should’ve just left him noticing albert to be at the practice race. like i said that scene was just there to emphasize albert’s skill with the chopstick thing but i think saying he was the world record holder and also being way ahead of haru in the race was already enough

besides haru’s character, another character i felt they did wrong was makoto. besides the plot of s1 being recycled, s3 makoto seemed to just repeat the development he went through in s2. by the end of s2, he already establishes that he wants to coach swimmers. and at the end of s3 he comes to that same realization but acts like it’s something completely new to him introduced by nao that he never thought of before?? the only difference was that he said in s2 he wanted to help kids realize how great swimming is, which was sweet and suited his personality, but in s3 he says he wants to do it for athletes on the world stage. tbh i like either way, and the latter one would help him be able to stand with rin and haru who in s2 he was afraid of being left behind by (hence why he swam the free against haru in s2) but saying that being an olympic trainer can also help him inspire kids and show them swimming is fun makes no sense. choose a path you want for the character already and make it consistent does he want to help athletes in the world stage or does he want to help kids fall in love with swimming? bc i doubt any kids pay attention to the coach or trainers in the olympics rather than the actual athletes so that reasoning like i said didn’t make sense.

and after haru lost what i think was the 200m (?) free at the All Japan Invitational, i found it weird that they had makoto there after to talk with haru and rin about the race? idk to me it just feels like it’s tradition for it to end up just being rin and haru talking when they’re struggling with swimming (in s1 was their fight in front of the tree that looked like the one by their elementary, in s2 it was the australia trip) his presence didn’t even feel necessary either, he just randomly interrupted the moment by saying his future plans after haru had that angst yell lol. it felt like just an appeal to mh shippers which is not a good enough reason at all

the last point i can remember at the moment is that the ending was so underwhelming. i don’t understand why they couldn’t have shown the ending to rin and harus 100m free race when the movie trailer already confirms that they’re going to the olympics. why cut to albert watching them on the tv?? all this build up to not even show the results of it? I think this ending really just confirmed that s3 was so unnecessary and just there to warm ppl up to the olympic movie but not actually give us anything good or plot moving

anyways sorry for this dump. besides all these criticisms, i want to say there were parts of it that i enjoyed, i just didn’t go into it bc this post is already so long, and me bagging on ikuya was not hate; i actually like him and the only time i teared up in s3 was in his race with natsuya lol. i’m afraid that at some parts i may have not expressed my thoughts exactly so please don’t be too harsh if you engage, but i’d love to hear other ppl’s analysis of s3 and the characters as well !!

now that it's valentine's day, it's time for me to spend 30 minutes writing down my thoughts on love because it's not like i have anyone to spend this time with LOLMAO

how i feel right now? physically: a little unsatisfied with my body/health right now -- which i normally NEVER am. but then again I never let myself go as much as during the initial quarantine/lockdown. + also I just ate so much fried and cheesy food with my roommates yesterday during the superbowl so I feel like shit

BESIDES THAT i am actually feeling pretty okay in terms of my feelings or state of mind compared to how I felt on Valentine's Day 2 years ago:

I watched the Sonic Movie by myself (fun watch ofc) so I came back to my dorm feeling REALLY lonely because I didn't even have friends to invite to see it lol. And so I think I misattribued that to wanting a gf/bf and got tinder/bumble (was on it for a few months, with a tiny amount of likes and even fewer matches) but eventually decided it just wasn't for me. Went on net 2 dates from 2020-2022 and both of them were alright (friendly and polite but nothing really came of them)

BUT ALL THAT TO SAY I didn't/don't really want a partner right now I think I was just lonely as fuck in early college, and now I'm not because I have friends to hang out and spend time with! also I'm working on mingling and socializing more just to meet new people -- this is corny and romantic but I recently realized that i just do like meeting new ppl in general!

what I'm still trying to figure out is whether that's ^ just an inherent life approach I have where being friendly to people makes me feel better abt the world, or if it's subconsciously some sociopathic optimization i'm trying to do like "if i know more people, i'll increase the odds of me finding someone who i love & loves me" which seems selfish and ingenuine so I try not to think about it too much :/

last bit, focusing more on my thoughts on "love" (beyond friend/familial love, I'm fortunate enough to have that in my life)

3 bullets to discuss, on 1) not really feeling Loved/Wanted 2) my reaction to that and 3) how I feel abt loving other people

- growing up I had a decent sense that everyone liked me but nobody LIKE liked me or was interested in me beyond being a friend/acquaintance. i never made any enemies and most people were super nice to me bc I'm polite to them, BUT no one's ever had a crush on me or asked me out and that felt (still feels) kind of abnormal of me looking around at my peers/friends. I guess i'm not conventionally attractive, or something about my personality is just that uninteresting 😔. so somewhere down the line of late high school (after having told 3 ppl i liked them and getting a no each time) I basically came to the conclusion "i'm just nobody's type, I'm fine with being single forever as long as I got friends/family" and I definitely still hold that mentality which is lame and stupid, now that I'm re-reading what i just typed

- despite no one loving me, i've never felt entitled to it and I still don't get how guys get redpilled about it (shoutouts to having a decent family/high school friend group that kept me grounded)

- it's kind of unpredictable when I fall for someone it's happened like 2-3 times BUT despite that i LOVE loving people. Literally when i have a crush on someone, food tastes better, days seem brighter, and everything seems better when I'm around them or thinking abt them and it's honestly a really cool and fun way to enjoy life. it's been a minute since i've last felt that way, maybe the next time it happens in my life it actually lines up and the feelings are mutual (fantasy land)

In conclusion: happy valentine's day to me (i will always love myself) and also everyone who decides to read this (parasocial thank you for taking the time out of your day to read this). maybe next year i'll have someone to give flowers to :P

so there are two girls called m and z (& i hate both of them maybe z more they're the bitchy-est ppl ever lol not relevant but ok). now we have a guy called h. m and z were very close friends they have (had) the same group of friends and overall their friendship was one of the most genuine friendship like they alone are very toxic people but their friendship was kind sweet and cute. lowkey like soul sisters. anywho m and h were in that "dating non dating" and "talking" stage. idk what exactly happened but something happened they fought very badly, broke off their friendship and group kind of seperated slowly. yk then wHAT HAPPENED-??!! z started dating h. mind you she was dating h 's ex bestfriend before all this lmao i don't have any problems but dating someone to spite the other person?? that sounds dumb?? plus okay i saw them today and they looked cute but idk i question if they were ever actually interested in each other or not?? like wouldn't their relationship be built on lies then-?? back in 7th & 8th std our english teacher had these *secret* spies and those spies would report shit to her🥲🖕 fck u (so tempted to write the spy's name) you made us panic for 3 whole days. so what happened was she told our teacher that (let's call the main characters as 💅-the girl, ✨-the guy) 💅 ✨ are kind of dating non dating and somehow our teacher managed to catch 💅 and her friend (they're a part of prachi and co group lol #good4me) reading a love letter by ✨ in the washroom girl first of all ew our washrooms are so dirty second wHY what were you thinking 😭 anyways so she forced 💅 ✨ to breakup called their parents and told them to start talking shits about others of our grade. we panicked bc our group was honestly the most fucked up one (#girlboss😩🥵) and and and since "dating" topic was popular and miss tina was a part of our group #sad😔 and was dating one of the guys from the group itself oh i forgot to mention 💅 ✨ didn't like tina and her then bf so we all like if they open their mouths they would definitely tell about tina and knowing her she would spill all of our fuck ups and make it seem like she's innocent sO US PEOPLE WERE HAVING A WHOLE ASS INTERNAL BREAKDOWN and we would discuss what to say and what not to say if we get caught during the recess and free periods. this happened for 3 days and then we realised 💅✨ are not that bad and they didn't open their mouths so we were all safe 😀🙏 anyways another storytime about this spy- SHE WOULD CONSTANTLY HARASS US BY CLICKING PICTURES W/O PERMISSION??? miss girl we didn't know who the spy was but we had our doubts that "she" was the spy. and when my friend lowkey manipulated her into believing we were "clicking great beautiful lovely pictures of her" she checked her camera turns out she has hundreds of pictures of people chatting, walking and all (this happened when our batch was taken to a 5 day camp) she would twist the actual fact and tell our eng teacher that xyz were dating when irl they weren't they may not be friends even just two ppl talking for few minutes and bye never gonna talk to each other BUT NO SHE HAS TO REPORT SOMETHING NAA SO SHE WOULD MAKE UP RANDOM RUMOURS yk what she did? she told our teacher that i was dating a guy who i have never talked to. we went for hiking and she took a picture which seemed we were holding hands bc yk we were walking next to each other??? like all in my entire life i must have spoken 2 words to him ig. then after all this shipping and all we ended up being awkward and ignoring eachother forever. now he left the school two years ago and i think if we weren't shipped and all we would've been great friend. he seemed like a really nice guy and i lost a chance to make a good friend?? see how fucked up this is-

I’m a shy introvert and I can’t for the life of me start good conversations in real life with new ppl. And If I try to, it’s very awkward. Lol. I was mostly ignored as a child whenever I tried to express my opinions and that really effected me. My very close friends described me as “kind, brave, and pretty.” Like, every single one of them said the same thing🤣 when I’m out and about with my friends, I seem very friendly and approachable at first but then come off as cold and serious after meeting and first talking because I’m very shy and not assertive at all. I’ve also been told that I seem like I don’t care about anything. when I’m around ppl I’m very comfortable with I’m very loud and silly, dark/dirty humor. I’m always obnoxiously signing (shouting) Disneys Frozen songs at my friends just to annoy the crap out of them. my hobbies? Well... I have a horse and a mini donkey who are my BABIES and rarely no one comes before them. So, I guess horseback riding is my biggest hobby. I’d say my second is learning new languages. Im a huge music lover and love to play funny songs to remind my friends about our inside jokes. I’m very athletic with medium height but I have a thick build. love to play hard at games like tag, capture the flag, hide and seek. Like, I give it my all when I play. Very outdoorsy. Trail rides, hiking, fishing, camping... I’m pretty sure the only “talents” I have are remembering song lyrics and movie quotes. Aaaaaaaand annoying my friends. Tendou loves you because you’re so safe. Like everything about you makes his heart warm and face turn up into a smile. He gets his energy just by being around you, and in return he’ll do anything he can to make you feel just as comfortable and happy as he is.

He came to know you sometime after high school through a mutual friend group. His first thought when he saw you was - wow. She’s so pretty. And poor baby was shy and thought he didn’t deserve to talk to someone as pretty as you, but he decided to give it a shot because of how approachable you seemed. He concluded you weren’t intimidating (meaning it was safe to keep talking to you :D) even though were a bit serious and closed off. Nothing he wasn’t used to! He’s been friends with Ushi for years.

But the process of getting to know you was where his heart slipped and fell in LOVE. His first impressions of your personality were that you were as goofy as him! You had no cares in the world- singing loudly, making crazy funny jokes (he found them crazy funny), and super passionate about your pet (do they count as pets?) horse and donkey. One look at a picture of both, and he decided instantly that the donkey was his favorite. He also saw how brave you were, and learning about your past, he grew to admire you and want to protect you then. He also dealt with some not nice things in childhood and it effected him too, so he wanted nothing more than to make your life better going forward. .

Your relationship is so pure and fun ITS THE BEST. Both of you would be so freakin happy ya know. He has you teach him how to horseback ride, and your relationship is just filled with so many inside jokes. You have a whole shared playlist that’s just every song that pertains to your inside jokes, and you blast and sing it as you guys hang out or drive around. You write out lyric quotes on his wrist, and he’ll do song lyric texting pranks with you. You both do your best to keep each other happy, comfortable, and try and push each other to grow out of your comfort zones. Tendou would teach you to be more assertive, and you would teach Tendou to be more secure in himself. Your friend group knows you guys as the ‘fun couple,’ and you two really do live up to the name.

Denki Kaminari!

There’s nothing on the face of this earth that could convince me that Pro Hero Denki wouldn’t be absolutely obsessed with you. When he first saw how pretty, approachable, and friendly you were while in the middle of a mission, he didn’t hesitate to make some moves on you (Denki I get it you wanna talk to the cute girl but PRIORITIES THERE IS A MISSION IN PROGRESS). And if you responded a bit coldly (unintentionally!) at first, he would just be more intrigued by you.

As he met with you more times, he found himself slowly being sucked into a pit of “I want to spend a LOT more time with her,” which he didn’t know how to deal with at first. He was also caught super off guard when he found out you had a dirty sense of humor, but that absolutely sealed the deal for him that you were the perfect girl.

He watched firsthand how brave you were. Despite his crazy missions, and sometimes you getting dragged into it, you always kept calm and were willing to keep moving forward, without being fazed. He also knew that you weren’t super assertive, and he wanted to help you become more assertive because he knows how strong you really are. Although he is relatively assertive, so he doesn’t mind voicing your concerns on your behalf if you need him to. He has your back always.

In your relationship, y’all are all about living life as much as you can. You manage to get Denki away from the agency every once in a while, and when you do, you two just dip from the city and go on adventures. You go on walks, hikes, and fish on weekend long camping trips where you two just get to bask in each others love. He takes care to make sure you feel appreciated and loved. When you two are unfortunately trapped in the city doing work, you guys find way to embrace the inner child that lives in you both, playing hide and seek or tag at home at night. Loser has to do whatever the winner wants hehe.

speaking of "i think rote tasks are okay b/c i can just be listening to something else / thinking about whatever while i knock out whatever tasks" thinking of some post about stuff like, "i had a job stocking shelves and that was actually fine, but it was just the other bullshit that starts to make jobs unbearable" truly lol like, well, in Theory......and dealing with other people, like, customers or coworkers or managers / whoever is just like. absolutely just a case by case basis whether anyone's concerned with treating you with basic respect, so who doesn't love that lmao. but of course, some people Do choose to just treat the people around them like people and not choose antagonism every day, and sometimes i have like, Work Friends & Allies lmao, there was one friend from my longtime first job whomst just became Normal Friends lmao i.e. we hung out outside of work even, she and her sister and my brother and i were all Coworkers and Pals lmao, now Twitter Mutual Friends due to not being in the same place smh. but also it took a while of actually working together to hit it off, b/c not only am i just slow at making friends / warming up to anyone, but work as sometimes this Social Performance / Masking marathon lmao, so it's less like, time for epic rapport with anyone rn......but then of course, on the other hand, even with coworkers it's been like, ah, the je ne hate quoi of [people picking up on a someone being nd as "oh i dislike / have contempt for Their Vibe"] is partially in operation lol. where sometimes that involves people being more Outright rude or something, but other times is more the Quiet Exclusion sort of approach like, appreciate that. felt sort of like experimental evidence of "i kind of had more defenses in place for people to at least Simply Ignore Me in school or possibly accept whatever niche i had b/c i could Have that niche of like, i'm finishing my work asap & then just reading, which, At Work you know it's like, busy work On Principle even if things are slow or you've finished whatever (although lmao. did also just read at that first job, where often there wasn't a manager around or many coworkers) and also i was the Kid Who Drew which never came up much at jobs and probably wasn't as interesting as when everyone's like in third grade, and like, i figured people wouldn't think i was """smart""" if it's outside Academic Zone where i get good grades and stuff lmfao and yeah sometimes coworkers would graciously imply they thought i was pretty dumb like (: yeah thanks, way to be Normal to your coworker lmao. maybe at this point Needless To Say i never told anyone workwise i'm autistic, did not trust anyone with that, even just informally re: coworkers (although twitter mutual former coworker friend has access to that info now i guess lmao) like, maybe Only if i was having a convo with someone i knew was chill i could mention like, info re: myself that *i* know has to do with my being autistic lmao but, i can't think of any specific incidences of my doing that. although then there was that factor that could override it, aka at one job where i had lgbtq coworkers where like, we weren't outright talking about it lol, but Attuned to the Vibes and like, people would be cool about That lol which kind of overrode like oh you're weird or whatever in that case, although also yknow, there were ppl who were just generally cool anyways so. but even with that it's Still like, the rest of a job's bullshit is just........and the inconsistency........smh

Classes were over for the day and you wanted noting more than a nice warm bath. Of course, that hadn’t happened.

Denki had asked you for some advice, so you being...well you. You listened, and listened. And listened. You loved Denki but sometimes his thoughts were a little all over the place. He first asked you for relationship advice but before you could even answer him properly, he want on a tangent about how insufferable kiri and bakugo were being. Something about a lovers spat.

Tokoyami had noticed how exhausted you seemed to be after school today so he went to the convenience store down the block to get you your favorite snacks and set up his laptop to the new season of that one true crime show you both like. He was thoroughly surprised to see Yū sat on the couch with Denki. There was a kind smile on your lips but your eyes gave you away. He figured that you had let Denki talk your ear off. It wasn’t the first time that you had done something like this. He sighed and went up to his room. He came up with a plan. Quickly telling dark shadow.

Once Denki had stopped talking and let you respond, Tokoyami had rushed into the common room. He was groaning, steps staggered as he approached. “(Y-Y/n)...help m-me!” His voice was strained, it fooled Denki but not you.

“Oh crap! Tokoyami, do you want me to get Mr. Aizawa?!” Denki stood up, face scrunched in panic.

“No need Denki, I’ve got got it.” Your calm response made Denki relax before he nodded and let you do your thing. As you led Tokoyami into the elevator, it took everything in you to stifle your laughter. Dark Shadow’s over dramatic threats making it very difficult to keep your composure. Once the doors shut, your laughter rumbled in your chest. The sound making both Tokoyami and Dark Shadow smile. He wrapped his arms around your waist and pulled you into an embrace, nuzzling the top of his beak gently against your cheek.

“Your too kind, my dear. Go take a bath. I have a surprise for you.”

Confused, you did what he told you. Taking a calming bath and changing into some sleep shorts and one of Tokoyami’s sweatshirts. You had head over to his room and you were very surprised when you opened the door. All the lights were off, save for some fairy lights that you had bought per Dark Shadow’s request. Tokoyami had the laptop ready to go and snacks ready to eat. He patted the space right in between his legs and you shut the door. Making your way over and getting settled in his arms. Dark Shadow had pressed play and the oh so familiar theme song reached your ears.

Grabbing a bag of chips, you leaned back and smiled as you felt Tokoyami rest his chin on your shoulder. Turning, you pressed a kiss against his beak.

“Thank you Fumi.” You hummed, watching as the feathers on his head puffed out a bit.

“Anything for you my dear.” He nuzzled you once more before stealing a chip from to bag in your hands.

“What about me?” Dark Shadow asked shyly as he appeared before you. With a giggle, you softly pat his head and pressed a kiss to his beak.

This was your favorite way to unwind after a long, stressful day.

Could you do a scenario with zen where MC is very friendly but when ppl flirt with her she sort of, Like mc.exe stoped working (haha but srsly, she gets shy and sometimes act sort of... pushing the other person away) and zen gets all "?? Are you uncomfortable ? I can stop if you don't like me.... "Which ends up on mc confessing that she doesn't really believe someone could fall for her, ESPECIALLY someone like him? Thank you!

This is such a sweet request! Writing about Zen is always fun so I hope that you like it! :)

Zen never thought that he could fall so in love with a person before. After only eleven days of talking to you through a messenger app, Zen realized that he finally found his true love. You were so incredibly supportive of him when he hurt his leg and the entire Echo Girl mess that it would have surprised him if he didn’t fall in love with you.

The day of the party was one of the greatest days of Zen’s life. He finally got to meet you and as soon as he saw you, you took his breath away. You were absolutely perfect in Zen’s eyes and he vowed to protect and love you for as long as he lived.

There was only one thing about you that seemed off to Zen was how uneasy you could get around some people, usually people flirting with you. At the party, he noticed how outgoing you were to all of the guests but within a minute, you could become a stuttering mess.

Even when Zen confessed his love for you at the party, you became a blushing wreck and became very weary of him. Zen decided to let it go for now, not wanting to pester too much into your personal life. So when the party came and went, Zen wanted to spend more time with you.

You had agreed to watch him at one of his practices for an upcoming musical that he was staring in. You realized that you have listened to Jaehee sooner about watching Zen’s performances because he was simply incredible.

While of course Zen was flawless when performing, you couldn’t help but notice his co-star, a beautiful practically perfect women, who seemed to share a great chemistry with Zen. You had always been a little insecure about yourself, but meeting Zen changed the way you looked at yourself, or so you thought.

After the practice, you and Zen had decided to go to a cafe for some drinks. Of course when the two of you had got there, a couple of Zen’s fans noticed him and started talking to him, asking for his autograph and pictures.

You rolled your eyes as Zen sweet talked with them, being as narcissistic as ever. Zen had told you his order so you had decided to order for the both of you.

The barista worker was a young male and as you approached, he gave you a toothy grin asking “And what can I get for you lovely lady?”

You hesitated but told him yours and Zen’s order. Once he handed you the drinks, he winked saying “I added some extra sugar in yours because you’re just so sweet lovely lady.”

You laughed awkwardly, starting to feel uncomfortable but gave him a “Thank you.” But before you could leave, he grabbed your wrist saying “By the way, can I get your number lovely lady?”

Before you could say anything, you felt a pair of hands clamp on your shoulders. You looked back to see Zen, glaring at the young male and said “How about you leave my girlfriend alone or else I’ll knock those pretty little teeth out ‘lovely boy.’”

The worker backed away quickly and turned to help another customer. You breathed a sign of relief and gave Zen a quiet “Thanks” as he grabbed his drink and wrapped his arm protectively around your waist.

The two of you decided to take a walk in the park while you had your drinks. Zen held your hand the entire time, making sure no other person dared to mess with you.

You took a sip of your drink and Zen smiled at you giving you a kiss. He licked his lips saying “Babe you always taste so good!”

Zen stopped smiling when he noticed you visible shiver and look away from him, face flushing in the process. “Hey MC, are you okay? Did I say something to make you upset? Please let me know if I did.” Zen said worriedly.

You took a shaky breath before saying “It’s just that… I kind of get really shy when people flirt with me. I mean, I love meeting new people and talking and all that but I just get kind of… Awkward when people say those kinds of things to me.”

Zen felt relief flood through him, he genuinely believed that you didn’t like him anymore. He gave you a gentle smile saying “Thank you for telling me MC. If you want, I can definitely stop acting that way, although it may be kind of tough because I am so perfect.”

But all of his anxiety came rushing back when he saw you still biting your lip nervously. Zen hurriedly said “I mean unless you don’t like me anymore and want to stop going out…”

Your head shot up and you shook your head saying “N-no that’s not what I meant at all! I like you, no I love you Zen. It’s just that I always wonder why you love me back. When I was watching you practice today, your co-star seemed like she would be the perfect person for you, not some timid plain girl like me.”

Zen’s heart broke at your words. He held your hand tightly with one of his own hands and brushed your hair gently with his other saying “Babe, you’re absolutely perfect in my eyes. I love you because you’re such a kind and caring person, not to mention you’re super pretty, almost as attractive as me!”

You laughed at his narcissism and Zen smiled back and said “Please don’t ever feel like you’re not good enough MC, you’re the best thing that has ever happened in my life. I love you okay? Don’t ever forget that.”

“I love you too Zen. And you don’t have to stop flirting, it’s who you are and I don’t want you to change. I just need some time to get use to it is all.” You said happily to Zen.

Zen sighed dramatically saying “How did I ever end up finding the most perfect girlfriend ever? You don’t change either MC, I love you just the way you are. Now let’s go home and watch some of my performances on DVD!”

You and Zen ended up spending the night cuddling together, watching his performances, and going back and forth saying what you loved about each other. Needless to say, it ended up being the perfect night.

is absolutely ANCIENT. she’s so old that she’s lost count of her age but she never turns bitter from the years spent watching humans fight wars and vampire packs fight each other. she’s still caring and although not the pack’s leader, she is gone to for advice

vamp law states that if a human knows of the vamp world, they either must be turned or killed

but when you stumbled upon their hunting party, she broke the rules and took you in instead

you became a helper, their legs during the day when the sun was out

this made her admire you and she wastes no time in asking you out. she’s too old to mess around, you know?

Xuan Yi:

with no need to buy food or heating, etc, she’s saved up a lot of money. that she loves to spend shopping. she’s the most fashionable vamp around and can predict every trend

you were an employee of a clothing store and from her frequent visits, you got to know her well

you started off just talking about “what’s in” and yourselves and the weather. then one day she’s like “want to go for coffee?”

she takes you to a local coffee shop when you’re on a break, “forgetting” to drink her coffee before it got too cold. you thought it was just a friendly get together until you part ways and she’s like “thanks for the date! when are you free again?”

her fun personality is what the new pack members are drawn too and you’re not much different. she draws you in each and every time she visits the clothing store

she won’t tell you the truth about herself until she’s sure she can trust you but when she does, the pack accepts you as one of their own and sometimes forgets you’re even human

and what’s worse is that she’s so kind and caring that you can’t even hate her for it

she takes care of everyone, esp. the younger ones so everyone cherishes and respects her. she may not be the leader but her word means a lot

the fact that you trusted her so much, that you saw the good in her pack who she loves so much made her feel jittery inside.

her crush only grows stronger and stronger until it’s SO obvious that she likes you and you’re like “do u wanna go on a date or something?” and adsdfhlksja you’ve awakened her dead heart

happy and energetic

when she sees you, a lone vamp, just wandering around, she feels bad for you. she didn’t want you to be lonely so she keeps trying to be your friend and over time, her fun personality changes your mind and now you’re part of the pack :)

luda senses sparks between you two and decides to play cupid

she convinces you both to go on a date and while on it, you realise that she was right. you did like eunseo. you were so used to closing off your emotions that you hadn’t realised that warm feeling inside you was affection

“this was fun! maybe we should go on another date?”

Cheng Xiao:

when you joined the group, she stayed away at first out of shyness but gradually warmed up to you. now she’s talkative and makes you laugh, even w/out meaning to

she’s surprisingly innocent, despite her age and all that she’s witnessed

but you see that as her seeing the good in everything. it puts her in danger sometimes, as she can sometimes trust the wrong ppl

a member of an enemy group befriends her and tries to take her hostage one day but FIRST OF ALL

THIS GIRL IS INSANE AT BATTLING

she like back flips away and beats their ass and majestically tumbles back to the pack to tell everyone what happened

and you’re sickened and worried bc “WHAT IF THEY HAD HURT YOU?”

but she silences you with a kiss, that confused you at first until you realised you liked her. it may seem dumb looking back on it but you were closed off from your feelings, trying to keep up that cold vamp image, not even realising that you had fallen for her. but she knew

“don’t worry about me. I can take care of myself ~”

Mei Qi:

brains AND beauty

ppl go to her for advice, since she’s smart and will think rationally. but she’s also kinda weird so if they need a good laugh, she’s there for that too

she’s confident in herself and her abilities so when she sees you struggling with battle practice, she offers to give you extra lessons

by the end of them not only can u fight but you also got her phone number ;) wait, do vamps even use phones? haha

Yeoreum:

always hungry for blood

you both strike up a friendship since you run into each other a lot, trying to sneak into the blood supply room or sneaking off to hunt when you’re caught

she starts off wooing you by bringing you random bags of blood so romantic

and initiating shy skinship like holding hands or sitting close to you

this goes on for years, where you lowkey flirt and do couple things but never actually ask each other out

putting a label on it is pointless since you both know you’re committed

Dayoung:

isn’t afraid to approach you and talk to you when you catch her eye one day. you were a rogue vamp and her outgoing personality made you consider joining her pack

although she looks young, she’s really not and that shows through her maturity

another motherly type that takes care of and loves everyone. so any of their problems are her problems too

when she realises she likes you, she’ll ask you out on a date. simple at that.

Yeonjung:

got your attention by screaming when she seen a cute dog in a sweater and you’re liek “this is my emotion too” bc HIS PAWS AND THE SWEATER OMG SO CUTE

karma is laughing in the background and nobody knows why

Class E probably had a ton of small adventures all the time. Imagine they stumble upon a police crime and tadaaa guess who is there 8)

Neuro approaches them bc Karma is there and also wants to mess up with the class

he does it under the pretense of asking questions to witnesses

Fuwa, detective manga extraordinaire and Yako fan, has a keen eye for detail so she basically word vomits as much as she can remember

And also asks for his signature

"Me?" -innocent face-

"YES PLEASE." +DYING WHALE NOISES*

"Ah, we meet again, Mr. Assistant." -Karma

Fuwa: "what do you mean by AGAIN?!?!?!?!!?"

ALSO when Yako finally comes over, Fuwa dies so much she's INCREDIBLY ALIVE

Fuwa tries to start stalking Karma

He somehow disappears at a different point on his walks home every day

Fuwa is confused. She doesn’t even know his address

She asks Korosensei for Karma's address. Korosensei can't give it to her, but is lowkey bribed by food and "leaves his student info files open"

she goes to the address and waits nearby and suddenly she sees Neuro or Yako entering the building

She asks Karma about it, and all he says is "I'm one of their regular informants" which tbh isn't too far-fetched so she accepts it.... for n o w

She mentions it to like.. .Nagisa or smth, and Nagisa is like "well it's Karma after all..."

"isn't he one of your best friends??? How can you not know anything about his family?,

"he tells me they travel a lot"

"but you've gone to his house. Haven't you seen them???? How do they look like???"

"they weren't there"

"But there're photos in his house right????"

Neuro probably uses Evil Something to cast illusions on the fam photos

I'm convinced that one of these days a few friends will come over to his house to study and #suddenlyYako

Karma: “oh”

or even better #SUDDENLYNEURO

Fuwa can't even process this, she dies

"DAd look what you did"

Neuro, with that innocent face: "...me?"

"wait did yOU JUST CALL HIM DAD?"

"But..but we saw your parents come to our cafe!"

"yeah... you saw him in a very cheap wig"

Yako enters the house on that moment and she is like: "how manY TIMES DO I HAVE TO TELL YOU THAT YOU CAN'T KILL PPL?"

"I've already told you, I don't kill people (that often)"

Everybody else dies

Yako ignores that, and keeps going: "MOST IMPORTANTLY, I THINK YOU JUST KILLED OUR SON'S FRIENDS"

"You did that, Mom..."

"Karma...explain" -everyone

Karma: "surprise?"

Godai walks in "what? a party? and I wasn't invited? Ruuude"

Fuwa: "MR. YAKUZA DRIVER"

when everything calms down they became the embarrassing parents™

"....do you have... pictures" "YES WE DO"

"Dad no..." "DAD YES"

Fuwa probably bombards them with questions like "how did you hide the pregnancy?!" and Yako, who most likely kept working even while pregnant makes up an excuse like "I'm small to begin with" and "I just wore loose clothes"

but in realityit was one of Neuro's tools employed every time they went out

(to be fair, I feel like Neuro would've been somewhat of an overbearing father when Yako's pregnant, to the point where she's like "I'M FINE. I'M FINE STOP IT." *throws an Evil Friday*)

"But how did you two hide the baby ????”

*points at Godai* "Babysitter"

Karma probably had the weirdest babysitters. Everyone from Godai to the Hayakawas

they all believe Neuro is the Friendly Assistant™ that's always with Yako

he first thing Fuwa says (when she comes back to life) is smth like "WAit wait wait hold on a minute. You married your assistant?!"

"ALSO WHY DID YOU MARRIED HER IF SHE TREATS YOU SO BADLY????"

"Hear that, Yako? You're horrible"

Yako: ..................................................................................................

Godai: *serves himself a big glass of alcohol*

what I love is that Neuro calls himself "wagahai" but when pretending to be the Nice Assistant, he says "boku" and the contrast is enough to make me fall out of my chair. so like imagine all of them hearing him address himself with this pompous, sort of archaic title and they just ???????????????????????

everybody @ karma: "did your dad have some sort of aneurysm rn?"

"nah he's just like that. Everyday 24/7. 365 days of the year "

Neuro: .... Karma: .... Karma: ok, all 344 days of the year. better?

Neuro: wonderful

Fuwa: "uh... mr assistant can I ask when is your bday? I didn't find any record of that"

Neuro: 16/34— Yako: MARCH 10TH. HE MEANS MARCH 10TH

on an unrelated note when yako got pregnant what if she tought that she was going to have to lay an egg. Neuro still laughs today

"To this day, that is the stupidest question you have ever asked me" "IT'S A VALID QUESTION"

"Are u sure"

"u seem to mistake me for insects quite often so me mistaking you for a bird isn't so far-fetched... Besides, your demon form looks like a giant chicken"

Haruka popped out and was like "OO FRIENDS WOULD YOU LIKE TO STAY FOR DINNER?"

Everybody: yes

Haruka: wonderfull, I'll go prepare some pasta

Yako and Karma: nO WAIT

Karma: KEEP THE POISON THOUGH, I NEED IT

imagine all the people you wouldn't want coming over happening to stop by while karma and his friends are there

Family Pack: part 1

So, I’m a werewolf. But it’s cool, my whole family is. Well kinda, let me start from the beginning.

You know how in stories, werewolves are these dark, angry creatures who live in solitude and prey on helpless young virgins? Yeah, that’s not the case. We don’t care if you’re a virgin or not, we’ll still eat you. No, I’m kidding. But let me tell you our story.

My name’s Brooke, I’m 19, and I have exactly 0/17 family members. Let me explain. I’m an orphan. I live at St. Mary’s Home for The Lost in eastern Pennsylvania, right on the edge of the Appalachian Mountains. It’s actually not that bad, I never really knew my actual parents, and the Head of Home at St. Mary’s is pretty nice. But even though I don’t have any family, I do have a pack. My pack parents took us in after they couldn’t have any kids if their own. All of us come from either a home or a dysfunctional family. We meet up every full moon to hunt.

I remember the first time I got introduced to the pack. I was only 13 at the time of my change. It was in the end of March, right when it’s just starting to reach warm weather but the nights are still freezing. I remember waking up in the middle of the night in so much pain…like seriously, I thought I was going to die. Somehow, I was able to stumble out of bed, past the HoH, down the stairs, and out to the back yard without internally combusting. Once out in the open, I just started moving. Jumping jacks, sprints from one edge of the yard to the other, riverdance, you name it and I was trying it. The movement helped my aching muscles to calm down a bit, and I say a bit. Running is what helped the most, so started running lapse around the yard. When that started to not work, I tried the gate at the far end of the 4 ft tall wooden fence that encompassed our tiny yard. Much to my surprise it was open, even though the HoH always locks it. She seems to think a bear or mountain lion will wonder in from the nearby woods. But tonight it had been left open. Not even thinking about what an idiotic idea it was for a tiny 13 year old to go run out into the woods, I opened the gate and booked it into the trees. That’s when it happened.

The running felt amazing. I was going faster than I ever had before in my life. The pain was still excruciating, coursing though me like a fire, but I kept going. Cold night air whipped around me, keeping me cool. Several times I accidentally stepped in some leftover snow that hadn’t melted yet or a patch of frozen mud. I had stared on two legs like a normal human being, but when I looked down to jump a tree root, I landed on all fours and just kept going that way.

Finally after about 15 minutes, I had to stop for air, and that’s when I realized it. The pain had stopped, but I had changed. My legs were bent the wrong way at the knee, my entire body was covered in a thick dark fur, my hands were now claws, and even my face had elongated into a snout. I started freaking out, it’s not every day you transform into a freaking wolf hybrid. That’s when they showed up.

Slinking out of the woods were a group of werewolves! Of course I had read about werewolves in books and seen movies with them, but I had never seen one in real life (probably because they were supposed to be a myth). There were about five of them, all slowly coming towards me, some on two feet, some lumbering on their feet and knuckles, and one completely on all fours. Needless to say, this didn’t help with my panicking. I tried to scream, but it just came out as a yelp. That’s when Mom came up to me.

She walked right up to me and started nuzzling me with her soft head. Her warm auburn fur gave off an aura of friendliness and love. She wrapped her arms around me and hugged me to her chest so I could feel her heart beat. I don’t know why or how, but this seemed to do the trick. My breathing returned to normal and I was able to stop shaking. I pulled my head back from her to look at her face. Her features were light and delicate, with a halo of gold fur framing her head. Her eyes were a beautifully dark brown that just enveloped you in their warmth. I instantly loved her and wanted to be close to her.

She stood up and walked me over to the rest of the pack. I remember feeling uneasy when I first met Dad. He was larger than Mom by almost 6 inches, and his coat was a honey yellow with speckles of brown. He stood up from his lumbering position to sniff my face and give me a quick lick on the nose. His eyes were a piercing blue color, like a still lake when it reflects the clear sky.

Next we’re the twins, Michael and Mitchell. Their matching dappled brown coats and duo colored eyes made them almost impossible to tell apart. When I walked over to them, they immediately tackled me to the ground and started playfully nipping at me. A growl from Dad told them to knock it off, but I was already scrambling to stand back up. They hadn’t hurt me, but being tackled by two grown wolves is enough to startle a young girl.

Lastly was Timothy, a seven foot wall of muscle. His black coat made him intimidating to approach, but with the rest of the pack by my side, I crawled over. Timothy looked up from his stance on all fours and sniffed my face before deciding that he approved of me. My heart raced as he nuzzles my nose as Mom had done.

After about five minutes, Dad gave a quick bark and off we ran. You may be wondering why I just decided to start following this group of werewolves, but like I said, instant connection. Plus once you realize that you are also a werewolf, it kinda takes the fear away. We ran all night. The pack helped me learn how to run on all fours, be able to climb boulders, navigate by smell, and all kinds of amazing things I had never been able to do before. When the sun started to come up, and we started to change back to humans, mom took me away from the group into the trees and gave me a long dress that she pulled from under a rock. Once we had fully returned to our normal selves, I got a good look at everyone.

Mom and Dad both looked to be in their mid 30’s. Mom’s auburn and gold ombré hair framed her face in a short bob. Dad looked like a high school teacher with his studious glance and short cropped blonde hair. The twins were about 15 or 16, athletic build with big eyes, full lips, and shaggy light brown curls. Timothy was a 6 ft tall giant of a man with dark skin, a full beard, and muscles everywhere. When he saw me coming, his face lit up in a smile. I guess he liked having a new member of the family.

Before they took me back to the Home, we stopped at a tiny cafe for breakfast. I hadn’t realized just how starving I was. Apparently everybody dealt the same way because we are enough to feed a small army. The owner of the cafe didn’t seemed the least bit fazed about bringing out stack after stack of pancakes to a group of ppl who came in out of the woods at 6 AM. I wondered if the pack came here often?

When we had finished, we started the walk back home. I was able to sneak back in through the still unlocked gate. Mom gave me a big hug and told me that I’d be seeing them soon, before sending me in. When I reached the room I shared with three other girls my age, I looked out our window to see everyone wave goodbye one more time before starting a slow jog down the street. I closed the blinds and snuggled into bed, completely exhausted from the nights events.

Anyway, that was 6 years ago, and man have things happened since. But, that’s a story for later.
