I'm never going to understand why westerners continue acting so surprised that most of latino américa and other countries with large indigenous and majority mixed populations are so consistent with supporting palestinian freedom. Like, amorcito cómo q pienses q vamos a dejar q ustedes repiten su misma moda de dejar nuestra alma llena de sangre, de muerte. claro q no. ya sabemos cómo va con diablitos. ya no vamos a crear en putas mentiras.

If you're looking for a way to use your quinua that's just sitting in your pantry and also want to practice your Spanish listening, please give this recipe a try.
I just made it yesterday and it honestly gave me a ratatouille moment.
I highly recommend to watch it all the way through the first time and then rewatch it as he sorta backtracks a lot BUT STILL --

So apparently Swedish and Polish facial reconstructionists decided to try to recreate the famous Incan "Ice Maiden" mummy dubbed "Juanita".
Truthfully, I feel like these European reconstructionists ( do not know how to re-create Andean facial features and the results ended up... terribly uncanny. So down below, with the use of photoshop, I edited the bust with more Andean Indigenous Peruvian facial features to honor the "Ice Maiden".
My version:
I made her brows straighter and longer, got rid of the cleft chin, gave her a down-turned mouth, broader lips (not small), I made her lips a little larger too and I made her nose longer/bigger and wider around the nasal Ala. I also broadened her nostrils a tad
and I made her under-eyes more puffy
I widened her bone structure
I emphasized her sideburns
My version (on top):
original (white euros created) below:
I hope that in the future, more Andean/Indigenous Peruvian facial reconstructionists have opportunities to work on revealing the faces of their kin and ancestors. We needed more andean people involved in her reconstruction.
Let me know what you think of my edits down below too!
I hope you enjoy them!

“Arcángel Gabriel, fortaleza de Dios, nasce del Tititacaca” was one of my first visual experiments with syncretism, specifically of spanish colonial art and indigenous andean culture. It was a way of trying to… to claim back some of the icons that were imposed to us, but in a mythological level. To retell the same thing, since it will never go away, but in our version.
2019.
Original on Instagram and hand embelished.
