7. Would they build a pillow fort together just because?

Of course! Anything to spend time together and just be themselves. A pillow fort is a necessity. And when the twins show up it just gets bigger.

44. Who would dance in the kitchen making dinner? Would the other join in or watch from the doorway?

My personal headcanon is that Padme isn’t the greatest cook in the world. I think that might be a fanon thing, but it’s definitely a long-suffering headcanon for me. But when she would try to cook, she’d definitely be dancing in the kitchen. And Anakin would certainly join in.

57. Whose the serious one when grocery shopping and who likes to toss random things in the cart?

I feel like this an easy one. Serious is obviously Padme. She’s a person that makes a shopping list and sticks to it with a few exceptions, especially when the twins are around. Anakin is definitely the one to toss random things in the cart and can’t be trusted to have a small grocery bill.

This is also very much inspired by shopping with my parents. Going with my mom always meant only things we needed and everything had to be on sale of it was an indulgence. When shopping with dad, it was more of an anything goes situation. And I feel like they’re the same 😂. The twins would 100% take advantage of shopping with Anakin for all the fun food.

It will forever be in my headcanon that Padmé regularly lounges around in Anakin's undertunic on lazy mornings together at their Coruscant apartment or during Varykino getaways. In fact, Anakin has returned to the Temple sans base layer often enough that the Jedi now keep tabs on his clothing inventory usage. He still hasn't offered a decently plausible explanation.

Clone Wars Headcanons

Tattooine reminds me of like Southern America or even like Colorado/Wyoming area. So I have a major headcanon that people from Tattooine have a drawl when they speak. I can imagine that Anakin has somewhat lost that drawl over time, but, BUT, it comes out on certain words, (thinking of my own accent here, on things like Oil, Time, Don't, Etc. basically he adds too much inflection where it shouldn't be, or he takes out syllables) And it especially comes out when he's mad or *whispers* horny. It drives Padme and/or Rex absolutely crazy. Because as the saying from the great Trace Atkins goes. Ladies Love Country Boys.

Obi-Wan is not a kid person. He doesn't hate them, and if needed he's VERY good with them, but he just doesn't feel a connection towards them. It's the reason he keeps refusing to take another Padawan. When he took on Anakin, he thought he would mess up on the parenting because of this, but in reality Anakin couldn't have asked for a better father figure, and Anakin makes sure he knows it everytime his aversion to children is brought up, with Ahsoka agreeing whole heartedly. And as much as that touches him he'd still rather run head first into a wall before he raises another kid.

Cody is a 'loses everything, including clothes' drunk, which is why he doesn't do it very often. But one time Rex manages drag him to 79s, let's just say Rex had never seen so much of Cody before, and he never wants to see it again. And the next day Cody had to get a new ID card as well as a new Datapad. And still to this day Hardcase calls him Commander Swinger because of the eyeful he got when Cody dropped the tablecloth he wore on the walk back, in the middle of the 501st barracks.

When they're deployed on planets with jungles or wooded areas, Anakin allows Ahsoka to hunt, but only with a trooper not far behind her, because, you know, she's a teenager, and there's a little war going on atm. But Fives refuses to go with her anymore because he wasn't paying attention once and he heard some rustling in the bushes and looked over and when he shined his light he saw her with glowing eyes like a tooka and a huge dead animal in her mouth, dripping with blood. He's never fully recovered from the image and he's seen people die right next to him, but that was straight out of a horror holo. They got back to camp, marched right up to Rex and Anakin and flatly told them he was never doing that again and that he didn't care how much they outranked him, it wasn't happening. And they never asked him again because Rex had never seen him so serious.

Tup is afraid of flying, because once during a simulation as a cadet their gunship went down and he got thrown from it and even though it was a simulator it scared him and he never wants it to actually happen.

Echo, when he gets drunk doesn't go anywhere besides the barracks or 79s anymore, because one time him and fives got drunk and had a run in with Hound and Grizzler, and the damn lizard dog bit him on the calve and fives on the arm, and instead of patching them up Commander Fox just laughed at them while they sat in the drunk tank waiting for Rex to pick them up. He now also has a fear of massiffs even if they're friendly.

The Jedi order didn't allow love, period, because if they did, the plot wouldn't exist. The Jedi didn't know about Anakin and Padme's marriage at all because if they did, the plot wouldn't exist.

You can analyze the text or headcanon otherwise all you want but at the end of the day, those 2 things are why the story happens.

I love the idea of Luke inheriting all these subtle things from Anakin, especially in a relationship. Like

- they both have a thing for curly brunettes

- picking their partner up and spinning them around (ROTJ!Luke would be a bit more gentle and subtle with this, but I could still see him doing it)

- cradling their partners’ faces

- carving Japor snippets or other trinkets (I like to headcanon that Padme started wearing all these pretty, but very handmade looking jewelry to meetings and hearings that Anakin made for her)

- Having a thing for dresses with big slits in them

- Gently rubbing the bare skin of their partner’s back when they’re topless/wearing something backless

- Absolute goner when their hair is played with (you know Padme gave the best head massages while Anakin sat there like 😵‍💫)

- It’s 3am here so I can’t think of more, but feel free to reblog with some!

We deserved more soft Anidala moments and to see Luke inherit more of his parents’ mannerisms. I feel like he’d love to know he was still connected to them in this way even after they’re gone.

15. Do they always say 'i love you' before leaving?

I would like to think so! They’re apart for such long periods of time, so saying “I love you” one last time before they part is so important to them.

23. Who's more likely to convince the other to stay in bed come morning?

Another one tied to the fact that they’re separated so often, Padme is definitely the one that convinces Anakin to stay in bed when she can. There’s nothing quite like prolonging the inevitable for however long it takes. If that includes cuddling under the covers for a few minutes more, then so be it.

37. Which is more likely to swear?

Anakin without a doubt. Plus he gets creative with words from the different languages he knows. Padme isn’t immune to swearing, especially when she’s in a less formal setting, but it’s certainly not as often as her husband. She’ll find other ways to absolutely verbally destroy a political opponent without actually swearing. It’s more creative that way.

i always enjoy the whole “Anakin just expected Obi-wan and Padmé to trust and listen to him?? Asshole” discourse because like… yeah??

not trying to self insert here but as a mentally I’ll individual 🫡 who in a fit of mania sometimes believes they are absolutely, 100% right and has the irrational thinking of; “im right, and you love me, you’re the person I love most, you should get it” & is totally irrationally emotional when they DONT, yeah… I GET THAT SIR!!

Even if it’s completely understandable, deep down I know they’re not at fault for not getting my own emotions, I’m in control of those — not others. I know this. Still, when my partner says something that goes against me it’s like nails against chalkboards sometimes

Again, when looking at Anakin he had nothing. He was a slave all his life, just to a different master each time. on Tatooine, to the Jedi/code, Palpatine and even to the Darth vader suit, he is never of his own free will. It was Qui-gon’s choice to win Anakin, to take him from his mother and home to what he thought would be a better life. granted it is, but he also finds himself isolated from what is imo what is supposed to be his “placeholder family”

MORE IMPORTANTLY Padmé is the love of his life, telling him that what he thinks they need, what he’s done for her and their family etc to be at peace/alive was actually WRONG!! BAD!! All meanwhile he doesn’t have any of his support at his side; Rex is off with ahsoka, obi-wan is fighting grievous on utpau meanwhile Palpatine has puppy Anakin at his every whim and call ((lets not forget that Palpatine had to have been grooming Anakin from a relatively young age)) They don’t get it, they didn’t see Padmé die before their very eyes, they don’t know what’s waiting them. Anakin is trying to save his family. Obi-Wan going against him is salt in the wound, even if Anakin himself knows it’s wrong and against the code and just completely evil.

I mean, Padmé FORGAVE him for the whole tusken massacre smh is it such a stretch to believe she would stand by his side as he waged war against the galaxy? i mean… isn’t that what love is…..? selfish, passionate, narcissistic, messy? she herself is a politician who often prioritized Anakin over her own duties I bet my man expected some “if you have a body in your trunk I’ll bring the shovel” type beat which also, i reiterate, WHY WOULDN’T HE when his wife forgave him for mass genocide, children included?,

he is emotionally/mentally fragile, he just recently slew younglings and killed Mace — you think this mf is thinking logically? Stop giving him the benefit of the doubt; he was a mess throughout the series, not once did he ever have his feet on the ground. He isn’t suddenly going to make the “right” decision, especially if it means sacrificing his loved ones. He’s an extremely flawed character, stop expecting him to make the right call.

The blocks of Anakin’s character have been set up to fall, Obi-Wan and Padmé are two of his most beloved relationships aside from his MOTHER that are completely dogging on his only hope of SAVING THEM. Anakin was never simply, “you have to do what I say or else I’ll get upset!” that’s a disrespect to his character — he can think logically. He isn’t a child. He is strategic, effective, in tcw he is the most efficient victorious warrior making Palpatine’s efforts look even better as leader of the republic. He builds droids from the time he is a young child all throughout his formative - adult years to the extent where knows how to understand their bleep bloops.

Anakin is flawed deeply, he was doomed from the get-go, never had a chance. His feelings are complex and deep and he questions the faith he swore to follow/protect. His character is so interesting to me and I have such a difficult time depicting the raw duality of man he wears on his shoulders everyday. Our desire to do good, yet to be evil; our desire to be unselfish, yet we are selfish.

This beautiful, scarred, monstrous mosaic of a man who from the very beginning, had a huge amount of pressure on him was meant to be so horribly dismantled. What other choice did he have? He is the chosen one, how could he be wrong? How could his idea of saving his family be any less honourable than the Jedi of the Galaxy?

He isn’t simply angry at them for not agreeing with him/falling with him, he feels betrayed. Personally. Obi-Wan and Padmé are pieces of Anakin, people that he loved so fiercely he labeled them as his enemies once they hurt him, he is too far gone to give them any semblance of second chances

you know what would have been funny? i was busy thinking of some Imperial! Anidala AUs and there's one which just crossed my mind.

Imagine Padmé joins Vader on Mustafar, Vader beats Obi, and kills Sidious to take over. Vader tries to deepen his connection to the Dark Side as he and Padmé rule over the galaxy. Vader tries to portray himself as this evil, fearsome autocrat but is way too popular: he doesn't create the Death Star because neither he nor Padmé likes it, he abolishes slavery because duh, literally all of the clones (they don't get replaced) love him, he's still seen as the war hero, he's very handsome, and Padmé's presence + coregency mellows him out a lot. Padmé and his children are also there, and his love for them is wayyyyyy too much that he isn't nearly as evil and dark as he should be

Eventually, Vader comes to Padmé crying about how his connection to the Dark Side is weakening because of how much he loves her and the children and how he can't fuel his inner darkness anymore. He isn't really a Sith anymore and eventually Padmé convinces him to just let it go, renounce his darkness, and let the love flow through him so now he's just emperor anakin, former jedi and failed sith

Thoughts From Hyperspace:

I think it's pretty widely accepted in the collective AU headcanon that Anakin would be the "fun" parent while Padmé would have to be the default disciplinarian. But I can't help thinking that after she doles out whatever timeouts, reprimands, or groundings are likely deserved, Padmé retreats to their bedroom to hide and to cry from the parental doubt that plagues her in the immediate moments thereafter.

Was she too harsh? Is she doing this thing right? Why is being a mom so hard?

(If you don't think this is a real thing mothers (and likely fathers) deal with, I'm here to tell you, IT IS 😭)

Not long after her disappearance, Anakin finds her, his own chagrin driving him as much as her dismay resonating like outward ripples in the Force.

As he rounds the corner, Padmé looks up at him, eyelashes wet and betraying her even as she swipes viciously at them in an attempt to hide her falling tears.

His heart goes out to her instantly, as do his arms.

"Hey c'mere," Anakin says, tucking her small, quivering frame under his chin.

She goes to him easily, willingly. Necessarily.

"They hate me, Ani," she sobs miserably into his chest.

"They do not hate you," he soothes. "They're just mad right now because they didn't get their way."

Padmé sniffs in his embrace, and mumbles, "You could help once in a while, you know?"

"And suffer the wrath of little Leia?" Anakin shakes a little with smothered laughter. "Ummm, no thank you. Have you seen her death stare?"

Padmé glares up at him, thoroughly unamused. Anakin's tries and fails to flatten his growing grin.

"Well," he shrugs, the smile turning devilish at the edges. "Can't say she doesn't come by it honestly."

His pretend shudder finally makes Padmé laugh as well.

Which was really his goal the entire time.
