What program do you write in?

I write in Microsoft Word! I've actually tried to write in other programs like Google Docs, but I just really like some of Word's features, mainly the ability to find synonyms and to see word count. I've been using Word for years, but, little fun fact, I actually used to write on paper waaaaay back in the day. Word can be a little difficult at times because it is REALLY sensitive to typos and "unprofessional words," but I still use it for almost all my writing. Thanks for the ask!

How one clip in the new season 3 trailer significantly changes Animaniacs canon

As I was replaying the new Animaniacs trailer for the 100th time in my head, I realized there's one clip that has big ramifications on how I previously viewed Animaniacs canon. How can one clip change canon before the episode's even out? I know it sounds clickbaity, but I think it's warranted. The clip in question is this:

Now, to most fans of Animaniacs, this might not look out of the ordinary at all. After all, this is far from the first time they've seen the tower depicted this way- for decades, in fan fiction and fan art, this is exactly how it's been described and shown when it comes to stories about the Warners being locked in the tower. To my knowledge, though, through all Animaniacs animated media, this is the first time it's ever been officially shown like this.*

*It was shown somewhat close to this in reboot episode 1, but that was after no one had been living in it for 22 years.

What do I mean by "like this"? Previously in the show, whenever we got a look at the interior of the tower, it's always looked something along the lines of this:

It's fully furnished, packed to the brim with all the fun activities the Warners could ever need. It has rollercoasters, basketball hoops, a TV, and, importantly, a kitchen, bathroom, and comfy beds. (We'll assume Yakko chooses to sleep in a ball pit.) It's a veritable wonderland that any kid would be overjoyed to play in. I always assumed it was shown this way to soften the blow for kids who thought too much about the Warners' backstory- sure, they were locked in a tower for 60 years, but it couldn't have been that bad. Look at all the fun stuff they have in there!

When reading and writing tower-related angst, where the tower is depicted as a barren prison, I had always done it with the understanding that it wasn't really like that. Sure, we played it up for angst, but in reality, in canon, the Warners were more or less fine in there. They played games, rode roller coasters, had a good time. I was even gonna make an entire analysis post about what the Warners' time in the tower was really like. Anything else would be just a bit too dark, wouldn't it?

But no. It really was like that. According to the clip in the trailer, when the Warners are locked in the tower, they get all their fun stuff taken away. It really does become empty, barren, and dark. There's no rollercoasters. There's no TV. There's not a kitchen, a bathroom, or a warm bed to sleep in. There don't appear to be any windows, except maybe one prison-barred window at the top. It doesn't even look like they get rations of food. When they're locked in the tower, they sit in shadowy darkness, with absolutely nothing to entertain themselves except each other.

took me forever to come up with a composition I liked with this one.

If anyone is interested in me talking at length about why this among my three favorite fics, that is below the line :)

This is among my favorite fics for a number reasons.

-I've always wanted to use the Freaky Friday trope for something substantial, within my favorite categories - angst/hurt comfort. The end goal being to have the two brothers mutually bonding over traumatic experiences and setting themselves on the path to heal from them.

Essentially, I wrote a type of fic I've always wanted to see, but have never really been able to find.

I download my own fics to re-read them myself, I don’t know if I’m alone in that or not..

-it's the first fic I've written that got quite a lot of wonderful support from readers, even though there were points where I was unsure of myself. Both because it was the first time I've written a story fully centered on official characters and not just ocs - and because of some of the subject matter, which gets into some heavy topics. The nice reception perhaps felt especially good because I was late to the party. In that I started writing the fic well after the reboot's s1, probably when renewed interest in Animaniacs was at it's highest. So I probably missed out on a pretty big surge of readers.

-I really enjoyed building my own version of the Warner's backstory, and this fic's timeline is one I likely will return to at some point. For now any returns will probably purely be oneshots, though.

Has anyone remember @purpleluckystar popular Loonatics Unleashed fan fic reboot called Loonatics R (aka Loonatics Revamp). It was one of the best fan-fics out there for the underrated fandom wanting to have a reboot. It has featured revamped characters from the show. Rebooted backstories from our favorite Loonatics and it even has a compelling story and new characters that this fan-fic has to offer on Tumblr and DeviantArt. It even has the ask the Loonatics in the Loonatics R Blog from the characters that Purple revamped.

Everything was going great until this fanfic was canceled due to her health problems (I hope you stay safe Purple). Which means almost without warning. Purple almost tried to delete all the Loonatics R-related content including the fanart in Deviantart. When she announced that she would delete her Loonatics R blog I had to save the fanfic including the asks that Purple made and transfer all her Loonatics Chapters from my Wattpad. I decided to try continuing the fanfic but time is trying to stop me and it would be impossible to continue the fic alone. That is @draze-a came in.

In Discord, we talked to each other continuing the fic and making new characters. I even have @mysticinternetdinosaur to join alongside me including @segamarkiii and @loonamonium who join in the KR project and even DarthCraftus from Deviantart who now joins in the project.

With a crew like this. We will try our best to do whatever it takes to keep this fanfic alive. And the best part. She gave away all of her OC characters and now I now finally adopted all the characters that Purple made. from Loonatics R

Q: What is Loonatics KR?

A: Loonatics KR (also known as Kervin's Revamp) takes on the same fanfic story of Loonatics R. Not just the KR version will continue the story for the unfinished chapter but it also brings more in a Snyder Cut-styled story that features new characters and new scenarios

Q: What is the purpose of why making the fic?

A: The purpose why I wanted to make this fic and take her place is because I wanted to keep the Loonatics Unleashed Fandom alive. Official Warner Bros continued to mock that show from Animaniacs, Teen Titans Go, and even New Looney Tunes. But this not stop me to prove that I am one of the people who have my love for Loonatics Unleashed. until its recognized for a reboot.

Q: This takes forever to make. When are you going to post it?

A: We can't promise when the release date will be. Sometimes making fanfic takes a lot of time. We completed chapters and retells but its best to keep it fully complete before we publish it again.

Q: Can I draw your characters from Loonatics KR?

A: I keep my characters protected and treat them like my creations. If you want to draw my characters (especially my adopts and the canon fan made revamps that I owned) Always ask permission and tell me what are you going to draw. Especially with my Discord friends

Q: What other sites will you use aside from Tumblr or Wattpad?

A: For the future, I may also plan to put it in Deviantart or Instagram

Q: Will your Asks remain open in Tumblr

A: There are not enough people asking for now so yes it will remain open

A: I'm not going to quit this project. This fanfic that I owned and am now in the making is everything to me. And even if WB already made a reboot I am going to make this my Loonatics AU (alternate universe). I Love Pinky and the Brain.

I love how much they love each other and that the actors understand this to be the backbone of the show.

I love that they’re actually allowed to have sincere, genuine moments of emotion, something no other set of Animaniacs characters has ever been allowed to have.

I love that because they’re animal characters, they can have all these little physical cues like wagging tails and lowered ears to let us know what they’re feeling.

I love that Brain is allowed to be a little fat and it’s never mocked or insulted at all. There’s no fat jokes, no scenes of Brain greedily stuffing his face with sweets or huffing and puffing while he runs. He’s just allowed to be fat and no one cares. It’s the only show I can think of where the fat character is the smart one who doesn’t care about food and the thin character is the dumb one who loves food and gets excited to eat it.

I love their shameless pop culture references and political satire that goes impressively hard and gives zero fucks.

I love that Pinky is a kind and gentle character who for the most part retains those qualities even in cases where he gains intelligence. I also love that Pinky is not stupid 24/7 and will have occasional moments of brilliance.

I love that Brain always looks so nervous whenever Pinky tries to initiate any physical contact whatsoever. It’s one of my favorite character traits ever and I watch for it every time.

I love that because they’re cartoon mice, they can indulge in a little slapstick humor and have it be okay. If this show had live-action humans, there’d be all these think pieces about how Pinky and the Brain normalizes abuse or something like that, but because they’re cartoon mice no one cares.

I love the originality of a character who is not a villain but still wants a villainous thing (world domination) and how he always causes his own failures rather than the traditional setup of a hero swooping in to save the day.

I love that they manage to do interesting storylines and backstories with the animal testing angle without making it into a preachy PETA-esque mouthpiece about how animal testing is bad.

I love how catchy and memorable the theme song is, especially with the reboot’s new visuals.

I love their catchphrases and how you never know what Pinky will be pondering.

I love how well they manage to keep it from feeling formulaic even though it technically is.

I REALLY love the gay subtext.

Just have a lot of love for these mice. That is all.

Important changes to my Backstory AU

TW: This post is going to be sorta long, so buckle up.

As you may know, there have been a lack of many new chapters to my story The Road To Success on AO3 these past several months. I've been trying my damn hardest to keep up with updates, but I don't always have the free time in order to write. I have to attend school, work a job, deal with family matters; those things take priority too. I don't have as much free time as I used to back in 2021.

That being said, I still hold a lot of passion for this story. I first got the idea for this story all the way back at the beginning of 2021. It started as just an insightful thought, a drabble I created inside my head. Overtime, I kept expanding on the idea, fleshing out the world, making this story the best it could possibly be. Now we're at the point where the story is over 120,000 words, and it's not even half of the way done yet! I never anticipated for this story to be this long, but here we are.

Now if you are thinking that this post is about me throwing The Road To Success in the can, I just want to clarify that this story IS NOT being cancelled. But the way the story is written and formatted is going to change from what you have seen up to this point.

Just so I am transperent with you guys, here is a list of all of the changes to The Road To Success, as well as the Backstory AU as a whole.

1. The main story, The Road To Success, will be significantly shorter than the original version. The OG version, the version that I have stuck to while initially writing this story, was planned to have 40-50 chapters. That is just not possible anymore, with how busy my life has become. This new version of the story will now have roughly 30-35 chapters. As of writing this, the exact number of chapters has not been decided yet; that will be determined by the end of the year (at the latest).

2. The new version of TRTS (Acronym for The Road To Success) will be more Yakko-centric. I originally wanted to insert a bunch of extra sideplots into the main story, specifically after the Warners become actors. Wakko and Dot were supposed to have their own friend groups, and we would get the chance to see their perspectives as well as Yakko's. However, these sideplots take away from the main story, which is overall more important in the longterm. That dosen't mean Wakko and Dot won't be given any time in the spotlight (they are gonna play some significant roles later on), but I don't want their misadventures to take too much time away from the main storyline.

3. Some of the lore (the details on how the world works in this universe, how certain characters act, family trees etc.) have been and are subject to being changed and altered. I'm very much a perfectionist when it comes to the little details; they're very important imo. Sometimes, I will change my mind about a certain detail and decide to change it on a whim. I will try to restrain these changes to the lore based on what I have already written/talked about publicly, in order to not create too much confusion going foward.

4. The Backstory AU will be expanded beyond The Road To Success. That's right, folks! TRTS is getting a companion story, in order to fill in those lore gaps to answer questions that have yet to be answered. This story will focus on the parents of the Warners, covering their childhood, as well as their inevitable downfall as members of society. More details regarding this companion Peice will be elaborated on in a later post. I'm also cooking up a Christmas story, which will serve as somewhat of a flashback to previous events in TRTS. This story will come out on (you guessed it) Christmas of this year.

5. So you may be wondering to yourself: What's gonna happen to the scrapped segments of TRTS? Well that's where my drabble collection comes in. A month ago, I created a drabble collection titled Splats Of Ink, a collection of oneshots featuring headcanons, future story ideas, and now scrapped segments of already established stories. I'm thinking about fleshing out these Alternate scenes of TRTS, to show you what could have been. Expect the first of these scrapped-segment-reimagined drabbles to come out this April.

So, that's a decent laundry list of all the updates that I have made to the Backstory AU as of late. Chapter 15 is in the works as we speak, and will most likely come out sometime in March. Then it will be smooth sailing into Chapter 16 and so on! There's lots of exciting things in the works, and I can't wait to share it all with you.

Lex's backstory:

Child/1997:

When Lex was in kindergarten, she was best friends with Dr. Reflex, and he would go to her house sometimes and have sleepovers and watch Disney movies or cartoons like animaniacs! They would also play doctor and Dr. Reflex would be the doctor, and she would pretend to be sick!

College/in 2010:

Lex was in college, and her and Dr. Reflex were roommates! At the weekends, they would watch cartoons (Example: SpongeBob, one piece, ect)

Dr. Reflex was a nerd at that time, lol, and Lex would listen to rock music with him (they still do).

Band Lex/in 2012:

Lex was in a band with baldi (or Baldimore at that time), Principal of the thing (or just Prince), and Mrs. Pomp (or just Pomp at that time)

They would perform at bars, sometimes clubs, and in downtown stage areas. They would cover songs since they couldn't find out how to make their own. Lex was the singer, Prince was the bassist, Pomp was the drummer, and Baldimore was the guitarist. They would be in a band for 3 years then they split up.

Also, Lex didn't see Dr. Reflex since college, until he worked at the super schoolhouse (other than seeing each other once at a wallmart once).
