Ok so I was writing a post about Serres and realized something, about their names...

It could be random but....

Odysseus: as we all now Odysseus from mythology spent like 20 years trying to get back to his home, Odysseus in Serres is also looking for his home, whether that's Athens or Serres ... or maybe a person

Eftychia: Eftychia in greek means happiness, and Eftychia died.... need I say more?

Nancy: Nancy's last words were "Είμαι δυστυχισμένη" (I'm unhappy) before the show ended, once she realized she was no longer living for herself and 3 months after Eftychia (Happiness/Her mom) died. Nancy short for Anastasia (if I'm not wrong) means resurrection, and in the last episodes she was trying to change her life

Lefteris: short for Eleftherios, Eleftheria= Free/Freedom. I don't know if it means much, but in the first episodes he was afraid to walk around town in a wheelchair because people would see him, and Odysseus was like, so what? Live for yourself dad. Who cares if they see you. So like, he needs some freedom yknow?

Stamatina: the name is similar to the word stop and she needs to be stopped cause she's annoying (and probable dangerous to society)

Ps: I just realized Billy is short for Vasily which is similar to the word king/royal and Billy's parents were rich and all. He didn't have a single line in the show since he was just an iPad kid but🤷‍♀️

What I've been asking for a while now!! You all love watching animes and reading and watching stuff with such themes but can't seem to understand it now that it's really happening.

Given how obsessed western media and Israel were with the "bUt h@m@s" narrative this time, it makes it plenty obvious that ham@s is no longer the t€rr0r1st body that Israel once empowered and enabled it to be. It's just people/freedom fighters wanting their land back after they've experienced decades of similar barbarity it appears.

And how anyone thinks Palestinian people will come out of the current massacre, mass murder and cruelty all chill and cool is beyond me. Do you seriously expect they won't want to avenge their loved ones after the stuff Israel did to their families??? The school year in Gaza had to be ended because all kids were DEAD. Entireeee family lines have been wiped out. Their hospitals, refugee camps, bakeries, schools everything has been turned to dust. Their internet and phones were cut off while aid was refused entry and all of this is stuff you can read without crying, and feeling sick I haven't listed the stomach turning shit yet.

Oh btw are you all still seriously believing that Israel is out there doing you a favour by t@rgEt1ng h@m@s? They're just killing and slaughtering and destroying so they can expand their colonized land later (this has been said by Israeli politicians and people). Also, they don't care about hostages from their country so before demanding their release from h@mas, talk to Israel.

And what happens when they're done getting rid of h@m@s which I know they're not doing that but still? Palestinians will thank them and carry on with their lives? What have you all been encouraging and celebrating Ukrainians for? Why doesn't that same logic apply here? You don't expect one ounce self-defence from Palestine later??? After alllll that was done?? people who say that we should not create or interact with problematic media lack basic understanding of how we as a society learn and analyze media. i dont mean that in a 'fiction doesnt affect reality' way, but in a 'fiction comes from reality, is shaped through us as a collective, and is a reflection of some of the deepest, truest parts of people'. if we ignore, if we condemn, if we ban media that has uncomfortable topics, we will never learn. we learn by looking at it and seeing why it is wrong. we hate by understanding it, not by just learning 'oh this thing is wrong so i have to hate it'. maybe for children who aren't ready to learn all of the deeper parts, or lack the comprehension skills to look at media critically. hate films made by bigots are awful, but banning them isn't going to fix the problem. if you don't want to watch them, you don't have to! but it's important for us to see why they were wrong. and see how that hatred spreads into our lives without us realizing it. same reason we study the holocaust (the nazis, btw, burned media that didn't agree with them. i'm not saying that people who say we should ban/hide information on topics that displease them are authoritarian right extremists but i am saying its a worrying connection). and commentaries that are about vile things happening by/to the protagonist (most of the time) are not encouraging the vile acts! if written well and written by the right people, commentaries are an insight to how these people actually think/feel, even if through prolonged allegories. we should not be crucifying some of the greatest social commentaries just because they're uncomfortable, because that is how we lose. if we do not understand, we cannot overcome! this is NOT me saying that people should just write about pedophilia, or incest, or anything of the sort just for fun. i do think that's gross at it's core, but that does not mean the writing/filming/ect is not important for us to look at as a society and go Hm. How Did This Happen?
