I've been silly a lot and been through lot of gray area zones where all choices are objectionable, I have never been more serious about anything in my life as I am about Kino no tabi, episode 13, climate change and adjusting reproduction protocols and ways of living. I also believe that it was my responsibility to tell you that letting people go who wish to leave is in no way morally questionable at this point in time in history particularly if they wish to do so. However hard that hits is probably far less than the required adjustment to prevent annihilation. With who I am that hit spiritually is probably greater than whatever you think it is and I knew that. I don't believe in hell, but I do believe the inflections are going to be pretty awful in reality for a while and the future does not look as kind as things are currently to me, which is already on a harsh trajectory.

Luffy is like staring into the sun.
At least, that is what Zoro thinks the first time he sees him. But then, his first coherent thought had been it’s too bright upon their initial meeting, looking up from glowering down at the ground to raising his head and squinting at a too big, self-congratulatory smile and do you want to join my crew?
Then it had been simple enough to blame the harsh sunlight blinding him, framing Luffy’s profile and that bright grin, and he’d bitten back the hell I will one minute and had a sword and an oath clenched between his teeth in the next.
And so Zoro follows the sun.
He follows and his skin reddens and blisters and peels; it splits at the seams and bleeds as he burns, and still he follows. It aches and cracks, and still he reaches out, twining his fingers through promises and a loyalty that will not bend.
Luffy curls a hand around his jaw and it’s a different sort of burning, flaring up into his eyes and down to his very marrow. And Luffy asks, where will you go? Nowhere, Zoro says as the words gather in his throat, raw and parched, and he chokes on them, anywhere.
His touch is a balm as fingertips skitter across his skin, soothing and pressing and digging and prying, and Zoro thinks he would burn again and again, blinded by the sheer brilliance of it all.
And then it’s dark out on the open sea, some nights, and then others too many stars dot the horizon, gathering up above them like they’re spilling out of the slit open belly of a giant, and Luffy tilts his head, blistering heat where he rests against his shoulder and looks at Zoro and says, I think I know where, and would you come with me?
And Zoro is a drowning man with a lungful of sea water, salt gathering with blood at the corners of his mouth and asks, of course, and where?
Luffy smiles and it’s a gathering of starlight and the sun, and it makes Zoro want to shove his fist into his mouth and shatter every one of his teeth, and Luffy would just laugh and bite down on his wrist and lay claim to his pulse point, like he doesn’t already live inside its every thrum.
No telling, he says. Will you still come with me?
And Zoro burns and it rages in the pit of his belly right into the raw skin of each scar, into his fingertips as they dig into Luffy’s scalp. How dare he have to ask, grin with the knowledge that he already knows the answer, and Zoro turns to follow the sun and says, yes, says I wouldn’t be anywhere else.

Poll Vote Slow Burn
Hi lovely readers :D Here are your Slow Burn recommendations for the weekend! Enjoy Reading <3
baby it's cold outside by betsib (T)
They meet as children, when Luffy is staying in North Blue one winter and sees snow for the first time. Fifteen years later they meet again, when Law is in desperate need of a date for his uncle's Christmas party. Written for Truffyfest Secret Santa 2023
Warmth by orphan_account (M)
Law Trafalgar is twenty-six, Male Model of the Year, and an absolute wreck. Luffy's the guy he almost punches in the park. Somehow, despite this brief encounter, Law feels a warmth whenever he thinks of the apparent teenager in a straw hat that he hasn't felt since—hasn't felt in a while.
Sunshine smile and bloody teeth. by babyeblue_bb (T)
Five times Law saves Luffy from a certain death. And one time he is the one who needs to be saved.
The boy of sea and storm by AnnieDeOdair (M)
"You are Torao, right?" The boy asked after a few minutes in silence. Law frowned. "I am Trafalgar Law," he corrected, although he didn't know if he was talking about him. "Yeah, Torao," Luffy repeated as if saying it well. “The other Kamabakka doctor. At last I know you, everyone talks about you.” Law raised an eyebrow confused because he didn't think anyone was talking about him. He was just a doctor in the same organization that Luffy had his soccer team on. "I think it's the other way around," Law replied without taking his eyes off the street and his attention on the cell phone. “I feel like everyone talks about you all the time.”
Softly Stained with Spring by lululawlawlu (T)
Law—being with him is the best feeling imaginable. It‘s the perfect kind of happiness mixed with a little excitement. Just having adventures with Law makes those adventures all the more exciting.
Ghost Roommate by vettany2 (T)
Law is a med student in the last grade of uni. For better focus on his final year studies, he decides to leave the uni dormitory and rent a flat just for himself. Little did he know that he's not gonna be alone there.
Addicted to your voice by Sakuya_Serenity_Kira (E)
Luffy was an orphant. He visited school, had friends, but sometimes... he was lonely. Till he found someone to talk to - online. He didn't know anything about this voice at the beginning... but he started liking him...
Law of Hearts by 32Rats_In_A_Straw_Hat (T)
Law thought he was making a deal with a devil when he formed an alliance with Luffy; turns out he was making a deal with an idiot. Now he's stranded aboard the Thousand Sunny with a captain who doesn't know the meaning of personal space, doesn't call him by his actual name, and even forces himself into Law's bed. But you know what? Maybe Law likes it all just a little bit more than he lets on, even if he won't admit it to himself.

Kiyoomi knows well enough that idle hands are the devils playthings. Nervous hands are another thing entirely. Nails bitten to the quick, cold air nipping at exposed wounds, blood vessels bruising where his flesh is harshly pinched.
You often realise what he’s doing before he does. You’re perceptive like that. Attentive to his ever-waning moods as though it were blood in the water. It comes second nature to you now — stopping the nervous impulse without having to look away from whatever is unfurling right in front of you. Gentler than he feels he deserves, you reach over to pry his fingers back, and smooth over the reddening skin with the pad of your thumb.
An apology sits on his tongue, but he doesn’t open his mouth. He doesn’t want to see the downturn of your lips. You understand well enough how his mind whirrs and wanders, and you see no reason for him to be sorry about it. But he does. Sometimes Kiyoomi thinks his soul might just be made up of loose sediment; destined to be disturbed by the slightest change in current. One misstep and you’re drawn into an oceanic trench.
“Love?” you call to him quietly. There’s a deep crease between your brows despite his efforts. Your other hand cradles his jaw, working at the hinge until it loosens and his bottom lip slips from between his teeth. Ah, that’ll be why. “Are you alright?”
He feels a little small as he tries to find the words. Drawn back to the surface, all his anxieties seem trivial. Without a word of complaint, you rewind the scene you’d missed and pause it. The sofa cushions dip when you pull both knees up under your body. Turning toward him, you bend to press a lingering kiss to the curve of his bare shoulder.
“My sister called,” he says, tone rough from disuse. You take it for what it is — permission to come closer. Kiyoomi releases the tension in his spine and slumps into your waiting embrace as you clamber onto his lap. The weight is welcomed, and he feels like he can breathe again. Your fingers slide into his hair, lightly scratching over his scalp and further, until your arms are draped around his neck.
He burrows into your chest. “She wants you to go to dinner?” He nods. “Will your brother be there, too? Parents?” He nods. You pause. “Your grandparents?”
He nods. Your grip tightens reflexively. Thighs either side of his hips, feet tucked under his knees, palm cradling the back of his skull — Kiyoomi feels held. It’s as if you had dipped your cupped hands into the sea floor and scooped him up in his entirety.
The skin around his thumb is throbbing in time with his pulse. He can taste copper, but you don’t seem to mind it when you bend to kiss him. Your lips are soft against his own, chaste and deliberate, and far too quick. All the better, because he likes how you smile against his mouth when he chases.
“This dinner party,” you begin breathlessly. The mere thought twists his insides and he tries to kiss you again, stopped short by your forefinger. “Does your invite extend to others?”
Petulant, Kiyoomi feigns ignorance. “Others?”
“Partners. Spouses. Close friends. Comrades”.
He snorts. Your finger moves as the list goes on, brushing over the impression left by his canines. With a soft pout, you add, “Doesn’t have to be me. But I think someone should go with you”.
In the face of your own petulance he regrets his own. “No,” fuelled by the need to put your mind at ease, both arms cinch at your waist and drag you further over his thighs. You laugh, and his palms smooth over your hips, satisfied by the sound. “I want you there with me”.
“Yeah?”
His nose nudges the underside of your jaw. You tilt, offering space for him to pave tender pecks along your throat. “Yes,” he murmurs with finality, kissing your pulse as he speaks. Then he pulls back to meet your gaze, the hearty love there wicking away the dregs of anxiety in his chest.
“You make me brave”.
