Hey i just had a weird thought about mammon and its mostly like, do you think he still had the power to bless people with money when he was angel? Bc there’s two sides to money when it comes to religion and one is where wealth is the favor of god (so, having it but not necessarily wanting it) and the other where it is the temptation of the devil (hoarding it, willing to do whatever bad thing to acquire), so i think it would be interesting if he could do so. Perhaps an angel though he could only do it to people who fulfill a certain standard (perhaps devotion to god?) and was forbidden from blessing anyone else so maybe thats why he went around doing ridiculous shit like selling “raphael’s” feathers so he could give money to people he thought needed it but didn’t meet the standard/were “worthy” of it. Then when he became a demon he had free reign and started blessing people like crazy but he unknowingly made it like a gateway drug to the other sins (bc if you’re so wealthy its obviously bc you deserve it right? (Pride), or if you’re so wealthy you can make everyone do everything for you why bother doing it yourself? (Sloth), you see how it goes right?)

Anyways long ramble cut really short bc i have bad articulation skills but Mammon’s ability to bless others with fortune being present since he was an angel and it being one of the most corruptible forces making him the second most powerful brother (or maybe the most? Idk greed is scary when you think of it in how capitalism destroys lives)

So this is a pretty sound theory (I particularly love the favour of god vs the temptation of the devil part cause I am a sucker for parallels and equal but opposing forces) but to answer the first question you asked: I don't think he had that power as an angel, cause I'm one of those assholes who can't help but stick to canon as much as possible

So here's why I don't agree

1. Heaven & Angels

• I don't think the angels in OM! have the same significance as angels in irl religion (I also think that the celestial realm is not heaven nor is it that similar to heaven. I made a post about it here)

• By that I mean, I don't think angels in OM! offer blessings to humans? Because:

-> They were at war with the demons during the time and probably couldn't spare the time

-> It was forbidden for angels to go to the human world or interact with humans at the time

-> The whole Lilith thing happened cause she "blessed" a human

2. Mammon's Role

• Even if angels gave blessings I don't think it'd fall under Mammon's jurisdiction

• OM! angels seem like a very strict set who are expected to stick to the roles assigned to their level in the hierarchy

• Mammon was first an archangel - a warrior in the war - and then a throne - basically Lucifer's assistant

3. Greed

• Even as angels the brothers had their sins or they displayed their sins to a lesser extent (eg: Asmo flirted a lot (had romantic partners?) and liked parties, Beel ate a lot and was restraining himself from doing so, Levi was envious of everyone else having set positions after the War ended, Belphie ran away from work to hide in his tree and take naps, Mammon was running the whole Raphael's feathers scam, Lucifer's pride was a large part of why his first interaction with Diavolo was like that)

• As a demon, the whole process of people Mammon favours, getting lucky with money seems wholly unconscious from Mammon's side. In a devilgram, Mammon takes MC out to gamble for the first time and you can play MC as being completely incompetent at it but they'll still keep getting lucky and will end up winning every round they play. Mammon's just as shocked by this as them

• So Mammon doesn't willingly give money to people he favours. And he if was still greedy as an angel then he probably didn't willingly give money back then too

Yo! Could I get a matchup? For starters, I’m a 6’2 cis male and pansexual. I have a somewhat muscular build, I’m very active in sports. I have short brown hair with an undercut and dark brown eyes.

My personality. According to my friends, I have an intimidating look. I have a stone-cold expression on my face when I’m around people I don’t know well but I’m like a puppy when I open up to people. I’m chaotic, cheerful, affectionate, and talk a lot. On the darker side, I occasionally get insecure that I might be bothering my friends because I talk too much. I have a fear that everyone around me will abandon me.

My interests. I have a big interest in the arts, especially musical theatre. I like to perform on stage with a supporting role because my memory is bad and I can’t memorize many lines. I used to work part-time as a babysitter and I really enjoyed it, I love working with kids since they’re hilarious. I’d like to be a preschool teacher someday, it’s a big dream of mine. Another one of my interests is history. I like learning about the past, which is probably why I love Hamilton. Other random things I like would be psychology, gardening, and drawing.

My hobbies. I play the guitar and the ukulele, both of which I’m a beginner at. I write stories when I’m bored, which I have never posted. I’m a volleyball player, I’m a middle blocker. I play tennis and I swim as well. I draw sometimes but I’m far from good at it. I also waste a lot of my time watching YouTube or scrolling through Tumblr.

What I desire in a partner. I’d want to be with someone who shows me they love me everyday through physical touch. Cuddles, kiss, hugs, etc. I love affection! Also, someone who is responsible, intelligent, and respectful of my boundaries. Speaking on from my fear of being abandoned, I want to have someone who will assure me they love me and won’t leave me. Someone who is loyal. And a good cook because I like eating. I don’t care too much for physical appearances but someone shorter than me would be adorable.

What I can offer in a relationship. Loyalty, bad jokes, and romantic gestures. I’d bring them gifts before every date. I’d give them lots of hugs and kisses. And I’d love to pick them up off the floor and into a princess carry, as long as they’re comfortable with it. I’ll respect their boundaries, opinions, and choices. Also, I’d like to slow dance to old love songs with them late at night.

Ok so my first thought was Asmo because he is the most affectionate so you really wouldn’t be able to complain about that. I’m also considering Simeon a lot but he is too tall unfortunately. (+ i think he isn’t really all that into physical touch.)

So anyways I decided to match you with Asmo!

Ok so in this relationship you are the tall and intimidating and he is the short and adorable one! thats a cute couple imo

In canon Asmo is known to have a type for muscular people (you know when he does anything to get a pic of Beel or Lucifer or somehting) so you’d super quickly get his attention focused on you! (simp)

Asmo would be definitely happy to learn about your cheerful and affectionate side, as that means that you are not just interesting in the looks, but you are also someone he can have fun with! He is also rather chaotic just like you so I imagine you two would get in trouble quite often. But thats ok, he knows how to get away without punishment!

It’s not really explained in the story (or idk about that yet) but at some point Asmo can get insecure quite a bit as well. I think he just wants to be loved, you know?

It goes without saying that both of your love language is physical touch, so theres no conversation that needs to be held and no conflicts about cuddling ect. but if you think he is going too fast (he might) you can always just talk to him, I mean it’s not like him to do something without consent. Sure, he might be a bit sad and he might get a bit insecure after, but he is not going to make a big deal out of it, just brush it off and try later.

I think he likes a partner who can talk, like at a party or when he has a gossip to share with you, otherwise it would be just him doing it all and that’s much less fun. He is very extroverted, so theres no such thing as too much talking!

Well he is known to have affairs quite often but if you find your way to his heart I don’t think he would let you go so easily. On that note, later you mention that you’d prefer someone loyal and I was just a bit concerned about matching you with Asmo as he is probably more into open relationships or poly. But I think if he really falls for someone he is emotionally very loyal. (he might suggest poly or open relationship at some point down the road so that will probably be a conversation to have but thats up to you)

You working at a theatre is also a bonus! he just lives for all the drama

I think he would be supportive of your dreams, unlike Mammon he doesn’t really care about how much you earn at your job. He probbaly has some connections to some pre-schools (its a long story and it was long time ago) so that way he could help you get a job (maybe just part-time) even if you don’t really have a degree just yet.

He is not a known history nerd but he can tell you all about it based on his experiences he lived thourgh! it will be a very dramatic telling of history but it’s fun.

Ok so once you learn how to play the guitar and/or the ukulele he would be super happy to sing along to your tunes! imagine how romantic that would be!

I think his life experiences could inspire your writing from time to time, if you are into writing based on experience. I mean he knows the juiciest gossips and stories ever.

He is not really into sports, no way he wants to get injured or start sweating because of that, but forsure he would accompany you on your workouts/trainings! (he’d also take pictures secretly)

In canon he is very good with words so I’m sure he would tell you all the time that he loves you in many different ways, and he would make sure you wouldn’t feel insecure about him leaving you. I mean it’s not often he actually has feelings for someone.

oh... he is not really a good cook... but he certainly knows where to get the best food in the city, so thats something! he probably cares a lot about food too, I mean you can’t just eat anything if you want a healthy skin and shape, right. sometimes he might try recipes that look amazing on Devilgram though.

ok so imagine Asmo with someone romantic like you??? like he would literally melt?? no one did those things to him before?? what is with this human seriously

like in that regard there is definitely a balance. it’s not like he is never romantic (he prepares the best baths you ever had, gets you the best personal gifts) but he is not really used to his partner bringing him a gift each time they go on a date. so thats definitely a way to get him!

with gestures like that you’d definitely steal his heart like no one else before! you’d probably be the partner he misses centuries after it all happened. (which says a lot considering how easily he usually moves on)

* im socially awkward, i suck at keeping conversations so i like people who are patient and talkative

* i get distracted easily so i like watching movies or a series with someone else and i also talk during it sometimes so bear with me hehe

* i love horror related things!! from murder documentaries to gory art and if im at my peak i can stay up all night reading on stuff im passionate in,, which is why i know a lot of stuff

* i tend to be optimistic and smiley because negative things (even a slight change in voice tone) affect me so badly and i dont want to affect others too

* i hate lateness, i hate repeating myself and i hate people who makes the mood go down

* i like cooking and i would love someone who would cook with me. it doesnt matter if they’re good or not as long as they are interested its okay

* im not really a morning person

* my friends say i have a great sense of humour and i can talk for hours end if prompted about something im really into

* its hard for me to build relationships because i tend to distant myself if i feel like im annoying them

So I was torn between Satan and Mammon, but I think you and Mammon might be better!

So both of them is patient and talkative (in canon none of them tried to hurt the MC yet so thats patience compared to the others) and that is why it was not an easy decision, but listen.

Mammon gets along well with anyone, regardless of the awkward first phrase.

He likes movies too and I don’t think he really minds a company who talks over the device! (I choose him because idk what Satan would think of that. Sure he gets really into series and stuff but thats exactly why I’m not sure if he would appreciate talking while it’s on)

Actually you know what, you and Satan would be so close friends but Mammon would be drawn to you regardless.

Like you could talk to him about the thing you like, he would try and watch movies with you but be aware that he gets scared easily!

He watches it with you anyway so hopefully you appreciate his efforts 🥺

So what really attarcts him is your optimistic and positive attitude towards everything. You’re such a cute and sweet person, and you actually care about him. How could he not fall for you hard.

I think the fact that he hangs around with you sooo often would influence your personality in a way that it will be easier for you to open up to people or just to keep a conversation going.

Mammon is literally never the one to ruin the party (unless he does something very stupid) so that is not an issue. In fact I kind of headcanon him as a person who makes the mood better? like he can and will cause drama but it’s never on purpose. (also I wish canon showed more of his serious side. like theres 1 ssr card’s devilgram story thats more serious but i haven’t finished that yet. i believe its the One too many insults card, or something among those lines)

Hmm I’m not sure about his cooking skills but he’ll do anything to spend time with you after a while, so if it means cooking then so be it! (I mean he has worked at Hell’s Kitchen before, I’m sure he knows a thing or two about cooking, so he might help you teach some tricks around kitchen utensils)

Honestly he appreciates someone with a sense of humour so thats really nice. Depending on your taste, he can be a real funny guy too! Joking around can really make a relationship stronger.

Uh I think he feels similar about distancing yourself from others. That would make a mutual connection. The best relationships are the ones where you really get the other person’s character.

Tbh he could use some of your ambition regarding his plans or studies so hopefully you can also influence him!

I don’t think he would simply let you burn out. Like he really does care about you, if it means picking you up and putting you down in a different room for your sake, he will do it. Not to be annoying as he just genuinely wants the best and you’re being stubborn 🥺

So I think a spark would happen when you ask him to tour you around the Devildom on the first week of your stay. He would take you to some amusement parks! And it would be the greatest ice-breaker ever!

Ohhh I think he is one of the best at taking pictures, dude is literally a model. He knows the best poses. The best angles. Just trust him.

Hm he’s one of the more carefree brothers, a rather free spirit. He would be confused about why you worry so much. Not exactly in a mean way but it would sometimes help you see things from a less stressful POV.

I think a problem would be that he might affect you negatively, like the way he talks and stuff, but it is canon that he is going to do his best to change once you bring it to his attention.

He is affectionate I think, so it’s really nice that you like kisses and hugs! Expect a lot!
