D’you lot have any idea how intense your feelings for a person have to be before you manage to be simultaneously repulsed by the general concept of sex, AND YET STILL WANT TO FUCK THEM

Ace fwends, where y’all at?
Any ace peeps between 24-29, I’m 26, are welcome to DM me. If you’re a minor, DNI.
I’ve identified as asexual since March of 2019. I first discovered the word, possibly through Instagram, as well as AVEN.
Since then, I found the more specific word Apothisexual (sex repulsed), to perfectly describe my sexuality.
I hope to make more ace friends, and hope eventually down the line, to date a tall, nerdy ace guy.

reminder that "strictly ace" simply means experiencing zero sexual attraction and nothing about whether you have sex or how much. "strictly ace" or sometimes "fully ace" is just another way of saying "asexual as in the specific identity rather than the whole spectrum". it doesn't mean anything about your libido or sex stance or sexual desire or activity. you can't say that asexuality is about attraction, not action just to then turn around and imply that "strictly ace" is suddenly about action. heck i mostly don't even use that term and just call myself asexual, but sometimes i do and it means no more than "i experience absolutely no sexual attraction". the sex stance terms are separate for a reason because they're not what defines asexuality as w whole, just some specific labels like apothisexual
sincerely, a sometimes sexually active mostly sex indifferent and without any sexual attraction who is tired of people implying that i can't be asexual and must be grey ace.

Pinned post time!! :D
alr, I figured it's about time for me to put up a pinned post
While you can find most of my info in my bio, I feel like not everybody looks there and this would just be an easier solution lol
This will update as time goes on, so just be aware of that! :]
So, let's begin!
Basic info you should know about me:
I identify as a female and use she/her pronouns!
I am aroace !! (previously ace and bi, but I've been reflecting a lot on my relationships over the years and realized that just wasn't right xd imposter syndrome is a bitch)
I only have one microlabel atm, which is a part of the ace spectrum and is known as apothisexuality
(Tying into the bit abt apothisexuality) I'm very against NSFW of any kind, so if you are an artist, writer, or otherwise content creator who actively takes part in the NSFW community, do not interact please.
Fandoms I am apart of:
Jrwi (all caught up on riptide, have not yet watched the entirety of PD, BitB, or Apotheosis yet (have mercy on me I'm too broke for patreon ;-;))
Traffic Series/Life series
QSMP
SCU
TOH
The Isle/Dinosaur community
COS (Creatures of Sonaria)
Warrior Cats
Wings of Fire
Rainworld
Content SMP
Other info:
I am irl friends with @honeyzee312 ! Xyr awesome please go follow Xem :DDD
Please be nice to me, my ego is fragile 😔
As you can tell from my name, I love worms, specifically worms on strings, and have six of my own
I LOVE LOVE DINOSAURS
I'm a sucker for angst also
I also love reading gore lmao
I have a shared blog with HoneyZee!! It's called Worm and Zee writing, go check it out!!!! :D
The Worms!!! (you can skip this part lmao) :
Pepsi - A light-ish blue worm named after soda (if that wasn't obvious), technical brother to Fanta, as they both came from the same pack of worms. He's one of the few remaining originals and the oldest worm I have excluding Fanta! Dunno how it happened, but he actually has three pupils in one of his googly eyes lol
Fanta - A highlighter orange worm who glows in the dark for some reason?? Also named after a soda. He is Pepsi's brother and originally belonged to another friend I have, before he went missing around a year back and somehow turned up at my house????
Salmonella - A pink (like raw chicken pink) worm, who is the brother of Asparagus (much like Pepsi and Fanta they came from the same pack). I like to imagine that Pepsi and Fanta see both of them as little siblings :] also he has a strangely long nose
Asparagus - A light green worm who is EXCEPTIONALLY fluffy, brother of Salmonella. I view him as more reasonable than Salmonella, potentially being/acting as his older brother despite the fact that they're basically the same age
Zest - A highlighter yellow worm who, much like fanta, tends to glow in the dark. I got him from an arcade at a bowling place, so he has no siblings sadly (but it's very close with Salmonella and Asparagus). He's named after lemon zest!!
Unnamed! (Any ideas?) - a dark blue, mini worm (3/4 normal length) then I find absolutely adorable!!! I still need some name suggestions for him tho
Okay, and now to the serious bit, the rules of my blog
I beg of you, please treat me and these rules with respect, or as much as you can muster
The rules:
NO NSFW, if you are an active part of the NSFW community please dni
No bullying or harassment
Please refrain from making negative or judging comments while you're here
Like I said, pretty pretty please be nice to me, I am fragile
RESPECT EVERYONE HERE, please no purposeful misgendering or any arguments
And finally, be nice to the worms please, they live within the walls of this post 😌

Any other headcanons you wanna talk about? For Ford or others? I’m always free to listen!
hi sorry this took a while, i was trying to figure out which headcanons i wanted to talk about here- thank you for the asks! :D
i have yet to post any queer headcanons for the pines family and im still excited about ford using it/its pronouns, so here you go!
mabel - i headcanon her to be panromantic and aspec. maybe demisexual? havent quite decided yet. she's also transfeminine and xenogender. xenogenders. she cannot be contained in just one. also a neopronoun user- she/they and a bunch of nounpronouns. she collects them like pokemon cards.
dipper - had to think on this one a bit (ive seen two different headcanons for him that i really love). i headcanon that he's biromantic arospec and bisexual (possibly aspec? still not completely sure.) he's transmasculine! i think he'd tell people his pronouns are he/him, but he wouldn't mind people using they/them or neopronouns for him
stan - bisexual biromantic for sure. also somewhere on the aromantic and asexual spectrums, im just not entirely sure where exactly he'd fall. he doesnt know either. he's trans, and he's not sure if he's transmale or transmasc. he doesnt really care about finding out. he/him but he's fine with they/them too.
and i saved ford for last because i wanted to say- there's actually a specific reason i headcanon all these things about his identity. which is that i saw other people talking about him with these things in mind and went "oh shit thats me isnt it".
moral of the story- the below headcanons were all stolen directly from other people and this is how i realized i was trans and aroace. the gravity falls fandom really can be wonderful. also i would die for aroace ford.
anyway- i headcanon ford is aroace. specifically, he doesnt feel any romantic attraction (im sure theres a word for that but i wouldnt know it) and he's sex-repulsed (i know the word for that one- apothisexual). he may or may not have a queerplatonic relationship with fiddleford. this is something mabel and stan have been trying to figure out and they just havent yet.
he's transmasc! real big fan of the idea that he realized that simply not gendering was something he could do after going through the multiverse. he uses he/they/it and, like mabel, collects neopronouns like he collects anomalies
bonus headcanon for fiddleford - biromantic bisexual and transmale. may or may not be in a queerplatonic relationship with ford. he's okay with whatever pronouns you want to use for him but does lean towards more masculine or gender-neutral ones.
i wouldve included soos and wendy and melody but i havent quite nailed down my headcanons for them yet

Understanding gender
Understandings of gender continually evolve. In the course of a person’s life, the interests, activities, clothing and professions that are considered the domain of one gender or another evolve in ways both small and large.
people tend to use the terms “sex” and “gender” interchangeably. But, while connected, the two terms are not equivalent. Generally, we assign a newborn’s sex as either male or female (some US states and other countries offer a third option) based on the baby’s genitals. Once a sex is assigned, we presume the child’s gender. For some people, this is cause for little, if any, concern or further thought because their gender aligns with gender-related ideas and assumptions associated with their sex. Nevertheless, while gender may begin with the assignment of our sex, it doesn’t end there. A person’s gender is the complex interrelationship between three dimensions: body, identity, and social gender.
Gender identity is our internal experience and naming of our gender. It can correspond to or differ from the sex we were assigned at birth.
Understanding of our gender comes to most of us fairly early in life. According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, “By age four, most children have a stable sense of their gender identity.” This core aspect of one’s identity comes from within each of us. Gender identity is an inherent aspect of a person’s make-up. Individuals do not choose their gender, nor can they be made to change it. However, the words someone uses to communicate their gender identity may change over time; naming one’s gender can be a complex and evolving matter. Because we are provided with limited language for gender, it may take a person quite some time to discover, or create, the language that best communicates their internal experience. Likewise, as language evolves, a person’s name for their gender may also evolve. This does not mean their gender has changed, but rather that the words for it are shifting
While the dimensions of gender and the desire for congruence are common to us all, ultimately gender is personal. Each dimension of gender is informed by our unique intersection of identities, experiences, and personal characteristics. We are more than our body, gender identity and gender expression: we are also our race, ethnicity, class, faith, sense of geographic place, family history, and more. Our gender is personal because, while we share some of these aspects of self with others, the way that all of these identities, influences and characteristics come together is unique to each of us.
One final distinction to make is the difference between gender and Sexual orientation, which are often incorrectly conflated. In actuality, gender and sexual orientation are two distinct, but related, aspects of self. Gender is personal (how we see ourselves), while sexual orientation is interpersonal (who we are physically, emotionally and/or romantically attracted to).
Why is it so critical to distinguish between these two concepts? When we confuse gender with sexual orientation, we are likely to make assumptions about a young person that have nothing to do with who they are. For example, when someone’s gender expression is inconsistent with others’ expectations, assumptions are frequently made about that person’s sexual orientation. The boy who loves to play princess is assumed to be gay, and the girl who buys clothes in the “boys’” section and favors a short haircut may be assumed to be a lesbian. These could be faulty conclusions. What someone wears and how they act is about gender expression. You cannot tell what a person’s sexual orientation is by what they wear (for that matter, you can’t know what their gender identity is either, unless they tell you).
Our society’s conflation of gender and sexual orientation can also interfere with a young person’s ability to understand and articulate aspects of their own gender. For example, it’s not uncommon for a transgender or non-binary youth to wonder if they are gay or lesbian (or any sexual orientation other than heterosexual) before coming to a fuller realization of their gender identity. How we come to understand our gender and our sexual orientation – and the choices we make to disclose and express these parts of ourselves – are distinct paths. Thinking of these two aspects of self as interchangeable may, instead of helping us know ourselves and one another better, actually get in the way of understanding and communication.
although there are a lot of genders, there's always one for you and I'll bring up a short list of the most commonly used genders with their descriptions
Agender
Not having a gender or identifying with a gender. They may describe themselves as being gender-neutral or genderless.
Bigender
A person who fluctuates between traditionally “male” and “female” gender-based behaviours and identities.
Cisgender
A person whose gender identity and biological sex assigned at birth are the same. For example they were born biologically as a male, and express their gender as male. Often used in the shortened form 'cis'.
Gender Expression
The external display of one’s gender, through a combination of how they dress, how they act and other factors. This is generally within the context of what society expectations of gender are.
Gender Fluid
A person who is gender fluid may always feel like a mix of the two traditional genders but may feel more man some days, and more woman other days.
Genderqueer
A gender identity label often used by people who do not identify with being a man or a woman, or as an umbrella term for many gender non-conforming or non-binary identities.
Gender Variant
Someone who either by nature or by choice does not conform to gender-based 2expectations of society.
Mx.
Is a title (e.g. Mr., Ms., etc.) that is gender neutral. Pronounced miks, (similar to Ms) it is often the option of choice for folks who do not identify as cisgender.
Non-Binary
A gender identity and an umbrella term for people whose identity falls outside of the binary of male and female. Some people don't identify fully, or at all, with the gender they were assigned at birth and some people have no gender at all.
Passing
When someone who is gender variant is regarded to be, or 'passes' as a cisgender man or cisgender woman.
Third Gender
A term for a person who does not identify with either man or woman, but identifies with another gender. This gender category is used by societies that recognise three or more genders, both contemporary and historical, and is also a conceptual term meaning different things to different people who use it.
Transgender
A person who lives as a member of a gender other than that expected based on sex assigned at birth. Trans people may describe themselves using a range of different terms.
Transgender man
A term used to describe someone who is assigned female at birth but identifies and lives as a man. This may be shortened to trans man, or FTM, an abbreviation for female-to-male.
Transgender woman
A term used to describe someone who is assigned male at birth but identifies and lives as a woman. This may be shortened to trans woman, or MTF, an abbreviation for male-to-female.
Two-Spirit
Is an umbrella term traditionally used by Native American people to recognise individuals who possess qualities of both genders
Ze / Hir
Alternate pronouns that are gender-neutral. Pronounced "zee" and "here" they replace “he” and “she” and “his” and “hers” respectively. Alternatively, some people who are not comfortable/do not embrace he/she use the plural pronoun “they/their” as a gender neutral singular pronoun.
gender does not mean pronouns you can be agender and still have pronouns. there are many to choose from, but that doesn't mean that you have to worry about it

I saw your comment in the tags on this post about how the below quote is exactly your sexuality:
“Picturing fanfic characters having sex? Great. Fine. Sexy. But picturing myself having sex with anyone, guy, girl, whoever, didn’t interest me. No – it was more than that. It was an immediate fucking turn-off."
As a fellow ace, your comment got me wondering how you feel about reading sex in reader insert (x reader) fics.
Obviously, judging by your tags comment, you’re OK with reading character x character sex. But what about fanfics that have character x reader sex? Is that also an immediate turn-off for you?
(Also, not sure if I missed you talk about this at some point before but are you aromantic too? Or just asexual?☺️)
I mean, I'm not a huge fan of reading sex in character x character fics either. Or writing it, which is why I don't write smut and very rarely read it outright; most of the time if it's in a fic, I skim or skip it, and I usually don't read fics that are meant to be pure smut. You start mentioning genitals or people touching them or putting them in their mouths and I'm out! It's just not my bag of tea. I rarely even drink tea! It's just easier to think about fictional characters doing the shindig with each other and then check out whenever I start to feel unconfortable. I can be okay with that!
I feel roughly the same way about reader x character stuff because, like, I know it's meant for you to insert yourself in the reader position, but I don't. Reader's just another character. Even when I write reader x character, it's more an exercise in writing a second person character, which I like because I like writing second person. I don't imagine myself in the reader's place. So it's still character x character, but the reader character is much more ambivalent in terms of gender/physical description/etc. They still aren't me. And again, as soon as we get to genitals being exposed and etc. - I'm usually out. It just makes me uncomfortable.
I'm biromantic lesbian asexual (specifically aegosexual (which is I can fantasize about characters and stuff but have a supreme disconnect when trying to imagine myself involved) and apothisexual (which is sex-repulsed)). I don't think I'm on the aro-spectrum, although I've thought about it. I don't think that's a label that applies to me.

This is an Asexuality PSA
Because a lot of people think asexuals are just people who doesn’t like sex and will under no circumstances have sex in their lives ever. And for some people this is the case! And that’s totally valid! But asexuality is a broad spectrum and it doesn’t work exactly like that for everyone. So here are some points to hopefully dismantle some of the most common preconceptions of the ace community :)
Asexuals can like sex!!!!
The defining factor of being asexual is not having sexual attraction towards people. This is when you look at a person and find them attractive in such a way that makes you desire to have sex with them. This is different to aesthetic attraction, where you find someone/something aesthetically pleasing in the way you might find a flower pretty, not in a sexual way. ASEXUALS CAN STILL HAVE SEXUAL DESIRE. It is not the same as sexual attraction. There can be asexuals with high libidos and asexuals who actively seek out sexual relations (sex favorable), there are some who are indifferent with or without sex (sex indifferent), and some who can sometimes hardly even think of sex without feeling disgusted and would never have it (sex repulsed).
2. There is no way to “look” asexual.
This should go without saying, but asexuals can wear whatever they want. If asexuals feel comfortable and confident in more revealing clothing, then there’s nothing wrong with that and it doesn’t invalidate their identity. An asexual person owning their sexuality and showing off their body is their choice and completely okay. They don’t owe you a certain way of dressing. Outfits do not equal consent. Revealing clothing is not inherently sexual.
3. Ace people are a valid part of the LGBTQ+ community 🏳️‍🌈
I have seen a lot of people try to exclude ace people, specifically cishet aces, from the lgbt community. First of all, the A in LGBTQIA+ includes asexuals. (And agender people and aromatics) The LGBT community is supposed to be a safe space for people who do not fit the norms of heteronormative society, and this should include ace and aro people, because we are minorities in a world that expects everyone to get a partner or pressures people to have sex. People seem to act like we need these things to feel whole, or be human, or have fulfilling lives. Allosexuals (non-ace people) make up 99% or more of the population. Because we live in a world where romance and sex are so pushed upon people and anyone not fitting into their idea of an ideal relationship are seen as undesirable or secretly miserable, asexuals can be hate crimed and discriminated against, just like gay or trans people. And we not only have to face aphobia from the cishet allo people, we also face it from inside the lgbt community when we are told we are not included.
4. Asexual and Aromantic are not the same identity.
Having sexual attraction and having romantic feelings exist on different spectrums and are not entertwined. Just because someone is asexual, doesn’t mean they don’t want a romantic relationship, and conversely just because someone is aromantic doesn’t mean they don’t want sex/feel sexual attraction. Some people are both asexual and aromantic, and some are one or the other. Both of these are real and valid options.
5. Asexuality is a spectrum, and there are many varying identities under this umbrella label.
Everyone can have differing levels of sexual attraction. For example, apothisexuals are sex repulsed and feel no sexual attraction, whereas demisexuals can feel sexual attraction if they form a strong bond or connection with someone, and greysexuals can also sometimes experience sexual attraction under certain circumstances. Cupiosexuals don’t feel sexual attraction but still desire sexual relationships. I’d recommend looking into some more of the ace spec micro labels if you’re interested, they’re really fascinating.
6. Yes, people in real life do look at other people and think about wanting to have sex with them.
If you’re reading this and thinking “Well, no one actually thinks like that right? No one actually feels sexual attraction, it’s just over-exaggerated when you’re talking to your friends or in the media like embellishing a story,” boy have I got some news for you. This is basically how I realized I was on the asexual spectrum. I genuinely didn’t think people could experience sexual attraction, and I didn’t get it when anyone would be telling me about it. If you resonated with any of this, you should do some research into asexuality, it could help you figure it out <3
That’s all for now, thanks for coming to my TED talk - Sprite
(Seriously if you read all the way through this I’m sending you a virtual hug 🫂 you’re awesome and I hope you’re having a wonderful day :D)

Apothievnoflux
An apothievnoflux individual fluctuates between repulsed, neutral, favorable and anywhere inbetween about a certain concept.
Inspired off of apothiflux, and most likely falls under apothiflux most of the time, but indicates a wider range from repulsion to favorable.
Examples:
Someone on the asexual spectrum who fluctuates between sex repulsed, sex favorable, and anywhere in between.
Someone who feels repulsed at being gendered one day but may get euphoria from being gendered another day.
Apothi- comes from the Greek word apothisan, meaning repulsed.
-Evno- comes from the Greek word evnoïkós, meaning favorable.
-flux is short for fluctuate.
This term is left intentionally vague, if it feels like it fits you at all, then you are free to use it! It'd most likely get paired with a label that feels like it needs clarifying in some way (like an asexual may want to clarify whether they're sex repulsed or favorable) but not necessarily.
Some more specific labels that fall under apothievnoflux + flags below the cut
~~~
Tumblr media
Apothievnoaceflux - flag made by combining the aceflux, apothisexual and apothievnoflux flags
An apothievnoaceflux individual is someone who is aceflux or otherwise on the asexual spectrum and fluctuates between sex repulsed, neutral, favorable and anywhere in between. It may or may not correlate to how much sexual attraction they feel at that moment.
Tumblr media
Apothievnoaroflux - flag made by combining the aroflux, apothiromantic and apothievnoflux flags
An appothievnoaroflux individual is someone who is aroflux or otherwise on the aromantic spectrum and fluctuates between romance repulsed, favorable and anywhere in between. It may or may not correlate to how much romantic attraction they feel at that moment.
Tumblr media
Apothievnoaroaceflux - flag made by combining the aroaceflux and apothievnoflux flags
An appothievnoaroaceflux individual is someone who is aroaceflux or otherwise on the aroace spectrum and fluctuates between romance/sex repulsed, neutral, favorable and anywhere in between. It may or may not correlate to how much romantic/sexual attraction they feel at that moment. And the sex and romantic repulsion may or may not occur at the same time/intensity.
Tumblr media
Apothievnogenderflux - flag made by combining the nonbinary and apothievnoflux flags
An apothievnogenderflux individual is someone who is genderflux or otherwise nonbinary/agender/genderfluid/ect. and fluctuates between feeling repulsed/dysphoric, neutral, favorable/euphoric and anywhere in between at the concept of being gendered. It may or may not correlate to how much gender they have/how strongly they feel their gender at that moment.
~~~
I made this for my own aroaceflux microlabel loving self. I believe it's because of that autistic urge for exact language but I usually don’t feel comfortable using a label until I have a very specific and accurate label under it. Like I didn’t feel comfortable calling myself asexual until I found aceflux. Idk brain quirky.
Idea: You could also use Evnoflux which I'd guess would indicate fluctuating but leaning towards favoring?  Idk just a thought, feel free to take this and run with it
also sorry if theres typos the dyslexia is stabbing me today :/

Note
I feel sexual attraction to both men and women and masturbated on occasion but i hate the thought of having sex. It makes me sick. Is it possible i could be ace?
I would encourage you to look into sex repulsion. The terminology we created around this concept is ARCsexual, which stands for Averse, Repulsed, or Conflicted (here specifically around having sex). Both ace and allo folk can be sex-repulsed. ARCsexual is the term for either. Apothisexual is when you are specifically ace and sex-repulsed. In a similar vein, repulsexual was coined as a more specific identity than the openness of ARCsexual, where someone isn't necessarily ace but whose sexuality is defined by their repulsion. There is also orchidsexual, where one experiences attraction but doesn't wish to act on it (this may be due to repulsion but could be for a myriad of other reasons as well).
That said, I could very much understand if you related more to the asexual experience than the allosexual experience due to your repulsion. There is not a lot of room in the allosexual world for folk disgusted by sex. A reminder that on this blog, I fully support self-identification for whatever reasons you have. If you want to identify as ace for whatever reason (from it feeling most right to you to it being the best way to communicate your feelings to others), that's totally your right.
