Why SMC Mold/Mould are Getting Popular in Aircraft Manufacturing?
In recent years, the use of composite materials in commercial aviation aircraft has increased significantly and has become a pillar material in the aviation field. According to the forecast of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the demand for composite materials in the global air transport industry will increase to $600 billion in the next 20 years, accounting for more than 70% of the total demand.
Among them, SMC molds can manufacture complex and detailed parts with extremely high precision. In aircraft manufacturing, SMC molds are usually used to manufacture aircraft shells, bulkheads, interiors and other components.
Tumblr media
One of the advantages of using SMC molds to manufacture aircraft components is that it can produce lightweight, strong, and corrosion-resistant parts. These characteristics are very important for aircraft because they can reduce the weight of the aircraft and improve its performance, thereby reducing fuel consumption and reducing carbon emissions. It can also extend the time of staying in the air, thus enabling the aircraft to fly higher and faster or have better maneuverability. At the same time, the aircraft can also install more equipment to improve the overall performance of the aircraft. Reducing the quality of the structure can greatly reduce the use cost of the aircraft and achieve obvious economic benefits.
On the other hand, SMC products also have high processing performance and can be made into various complex shapes and sizes, which can help designers realize their creativity and imagination.
MDC Mould is a professional and renowned mold manufacturer, especially specializing in SMC mold, BMC mold and other compression mold. If you have any need, please contact us at [email protected];

Watched a documentary on aircraft carriers and enamored with the though of a huge mech that turns into an aircraft carrier hosting an entire rookery of flightframes. The flightframes protect their bestie and home, and in term the aricraft carrier gives them a safe place to roost and companionship. Flightframes shooting the breeze on the top deck with their buddies, including the aircraft carrier, making sure they feel included.
Multiple generations of flightframes growing up on top of the aircraft carrier. Alternatively, an aircraft carrier inheriting their parent’s colony of seekers when their parent deactivates.
There might even a group of destroyers who travel with the aircraft carrier, forming an entire floating/flying community.

Welcome back once more, and it's time to take this series to the moon, litrllly.
Destination Moon, or, "That time Hergé decided to try to outdo Edgar P Jacobs", is part one of the duology in which Tintin&Co go to the moon.
A quick note, there are no major characters in this that don't carry over to the second part, so the character segment's going to be excluded here.
Plot-line
So Tintin and Haddock get telegraph letter from Professor Calculus, informing them that he is in Klow, capital of Syldavia, which you may remember from book 8, and so they promptly fly over, Haddock pays hundreds of Khors of import duty on his suitcase full of alcoholic beverages, then get in a car Calculus sent, but insted of going to Klow, they go into the monutins, past a series of checkpoints manned by armed guads, and inot a underground bunker.
They meet up with Calculus, who exposits that this is in fact a nuclear research facility, Sprodj, which is in the process of building a single-stage nuclear-engine rocket for a round-trip moon landing, under Calculus's supervision, and Calculus wants Tintin and Haddock to crew the rocket along with him and Wolff, an engineer.
After a short fire, they get a tour of the facility, the atomic pile, which is an old term for a nuclear reactor, and the X-FLR 6, a unmanned nuclear rocket intended to circle and photograph the moon.
That night, as Tintin&Co are sleeping, a small aricraft flies over the Sprodj, drops three parachutists, almost gets shot down by Sprodj's anti-air batteries, a shell of which hits Calcul's room, propeling his bed out of the room, and onto the (presumably) power lines outside.
One of the parachutist's parachutes fails to open, killing them, but the other two evade capture.
Then the Thom(p)sons show up, being falsely arrested as the parachutists, but swiftly let go on Tintin's order.
Now in order to catch the parachutists, Tintin heads out into the mountains, meets some bears, whom they feed honey sandwiches and run from.
Tintin finds one of parachutists, outside a ventilator, which the Sprodj thinks is inaccessible, being passed some papers, from a spy, who shall be important later, but when attempting to confront them, the other parachutist, Jim, shoots Tintin, leaving him with a grazed skull.
With Tintin recovered sufficiently to walk, it is now time for the launch of the unmanned X-FLR 6, which is intended to orbit the moon, however, when it re-enters control signal view emerging from the dark side of the moon, it is overtaken by another control signal, operated by the same mysterious group that sent the parachutists, and so Calculus remotely destroys the X-FLR 6.
This setback fails to demotivate Calculus, and constriction of the larger, manned lunar return rocket.
However, during a space suit training exercise, Haddock calls Calculus a goat, which drives him around the metaphorical bend, and he drives Haddock to see the almost-constructed rocket, despite his lack of a driver’s licence, and while showing Haddock the ship, falls down a hatch, and develops amnesia, which persists all of two-and-a-bit pages, until Haddock calls him a goat again, which saves his memory.
And so, the day arrives, they board the rocket, Haddock has regrets, and off it pops into space.
Things I like
First off, the sheer spectacle, the rocket, the nucular pile, even the centre itself, Hegré does a magnificent job of conveying the sheer amount of big present here, it all feels very proper and to-scale.
I love the use of blueprints and schematic diagrams, I just love that kind of thing in general, I have literally shelves of books of that kind of thing, both real and fictional, and, fun fact, I originally picked up Explorers On The Moon, my first Tintin book, in a bookshop, years and years and years ago, thinking it was one of those schematic diagram books, and ended up loving it.
Things I don't
Haddock says they intend to leave at once, but leave two days later
Haddock verbally abuses armed police at a checkpoint
Haddock gets sprayed with paint intended to go to space, right in the face, but is just fine
Calculus sleeps through a anti-air shell coming through his window and blowing his bed, with him in it, back out
The Thom(p)sons wear what the Director calls Greek costumes, but in 30 seconds of ducking, I was unable to find anything that resembled them whatsoever
The vent shaft that the spy uses to pass plans is very clearly accesable, with basically zero effort
Troublesome bits
As always these days, I didn't find anything, but please tell me if you did.
Silly bits
Haddock transports a suitcase of spirits into Syldavia, and does not declare it
Calculus gets smashed over the head with a hammer
Haddock smokes a Ebonite ear-trumpet
Calculus misplaces top-secret plans in a waste-paper basket
Conclusion
I’m starting to sound like a bit of a broken record with these first-part-of-a-duology reviews, but yes, it does a very good job of setting up the next one, in more ways than is at first apparent.

TIL In WWII, to increase the chance of Aricraft bombers returing, armors are placed on areas not or were least damaged on surviving planes and not where there were a lot of holes.
(Not/least damaged parts were reinforced and not the parts where they had the most damage.)
The reasoning was that survivors were able to survive the damages on those parts, which were identified as the vulnerable spots, and those who didn't never came back.
