thomas jumping into manu's arms 🥺😭
It’s like a scene out of a romance movie 🥰
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I love how soft they are with each other. Thomas has nothing but sweet words to say whenever he’s asked about his decade partner, and it’s clear there’s no one else Manu would rather hold close. He can’t help but lift him up (literally and figuratively) at every opportunity.

Made a post about my 3 things I want to see with every Wonder Woman adaptation, despite needing to do some catching up myself. Related, do you have a link to a Wonder Woman reading list?
https://at.tumblr.com/paigeoforacle/1-keep-fights-to-a-minimum/k7nbubhe1qws
Nice list!
As for my Wonder Woman recs list....technically, yes. I made a Wonder Woman starter recs list way back in 2017 right after the movie came out. However, it's outdated, I've changed my opinion on some of the things I said there as I've read more Wonder Woman comics, and it also fails to include several good comics. So here's my current Wonder Woman recs list:
Starter comics: These are great comics to read if you're new to Wonder Woman comics or only have a passing familiarity with her:
Wonder Woman: Year One, by Greg Rucka
Wonder Woman (1987) #1-62, by George Perez
Wonder Woman: The Hiketeia, by Greg Rucka
JLA: League of One, by Christopher Moeller
The Legend of Wonder Woman, by Ray Dillion and Renee De Liz
Wonder Woman: Historia, by Kelly Sue DeConnick
Wonder Woman (1987) #170, by Phil Jimenez (the Diana-Lois 'Day in the Life' issue)
"Generations" from Sensation Comics Featuring Wonder Woman, by Michael Jelenic (Issue #12 digitally, Issue #7 print)
Wonder Woman: Our Worlds At War, by Phil Jimenez (warning: this oneshot ties into the "Our Wolds at War" event, so the frame story will probably be confusing, but the majority of the story is a solid retelling of the collective Amazonian history up to that point)
Second-level comics: read these once you have a baseline familarity with Diana and her supporting cast:
Wonder Woman by Phil Jimenez, including Paradise Lost/Paradise Found (which I don't think are in the current Jimenez omnibus)
Wonder Woman by Greg Rucka (his first run on the title), with a particular call-out for the Medusa arc
Wonder Woman: The Circle and Ends of the Earth, by Gail Simone
Wonder Woman Rebirth (2016), by Greg Rucka (Rucka's second run; everything except Year One fits here)
Wonder Woman: The Twelve Labors (WW 1942 #212-222), by Len Wein and assorted other writers
Wonder Woman/Justice League Dark: The Witching Hour, by James Tynion IV
Wonder Woman: Lords and Liars by Mariko Tamaki
All of the comics on both lists are great; I have no hesitation recommending any of them. However, I will give a blanket warning for sexual assault in the Amazons' backstory, particularly during the seminal Perez run (which is very dated in how it handles the topic, unfortunately), and put a general note that while I can't think of anything outright offensive, various social issues are not always handled with grace (especially in the older runs).
Comics featuring the Wonderfam supporting cast:
New Teen Titans: Who is Donna Troy?, by Marv Wolfman*
Titans (1999), by Devin Grayson (for Donna)*
The Return of Donna Troy, by Phil Jimenez (collected in The Death and Return of Donna Troy)*
Wonder Woman: Lifelines (WW 1987 #105-108) and WW #109-113, by John Byrne (Cassie Sandsmark's introduction)
Young Justice (1998), by Peter David (for Cassie)*
Nubia and the Amazons, by Stephanie Williams and Vita Ayala*
Nubia: Queen of the Amazons, by Stephanie Williams and Vita Ayala*
Wonder Woman: The Contest (WW 1987 #0 and #90-100), by William Messner-Loebs (for Artemis of Bana-Mighdall)
Artemis: Requiem, by William Messner-Loebs (Note: this is not actually recommended reading. It's utterly cursed and I wouldn't put it on here if it wasn't absolutely necessary to understand how Artemis isn't dead after "The Contest." Read everything else on this list before you read this mini)
Wonder Woman: Gods of Gotham (WW 1987 #164-167), by Phil Jimenez*
Red Hood and the Outlaws Rebirth (2016) #1-24, by Scott Lobdell (for post-Flashpoint!Artemis, who's basically a different character)
Future State: Wonder Woman, by Joelle Jones (Yara Flor)
Wonder Girl (2021), by Joelle Jones (for Yara) (Note: this run is "just okay" and I'm reccing it with several reservations. However, it's also Yara's most prominent comic to date)
I've starred the ones on this list that I actually recommend as "good comics to read" and not just "decent starter comics for the character." Warning for depictions of sexual assault, bad art if you're looking at a pre-2000s comic, and being forced to engage with Scott Lobdell and William Messner-Loebs' writing.
I also recommend DC Bombshells by Marguerite Bennett; it's an Elseworlds comic set in WWII that co-stars Diana and it's delightful. There's certainly others that are decent, but I think this is a solid starter list if you want to understand Wonder Woman and how she should be written.

Acorn thot
Jack had left her in bed, off in a hurry to discuss a work in progress he had ongoing with CBS. He’d come on her belly and had began to change with no stop in between the happenings, he often got like that after sex when he was excited about new work he had coming. Like if the work itself would be more satisfactory than having Lana Tierney herself. With a pat on her ass he’d been gone and inside Lana, Julie Jean Turner was grateful he hadn’t stayed and had left her alone. It was much better then when Vincent stayed beside her, smug in his performance, when no pleasure had been truly given. For her, at least.
Mr. Huston was nice about the jacket and Lana made sure to keep it in her line of sight during sex with him but she never dared to wear it with his hands on her. She would never betray Bucky like that, never dare mix his scent with that of the smell of old money, of men who didn’t risk their lives for the nation - for her, Johnny had wrote her. He fought to keep her safe before he really knew her and she’d never felt more cared for or protected upon reading those words.
Now with Jack gone, she lay in bed breathing in the jacket, keeping it tucked tight between her thighs. John’s smell was becoming faint, what with Lana carting it around everywhere she went and using it as her only defense against the cold, against the studios, against Vincent - against Mother Dearest. It was her shield and her only reminder now that Mother had taken away her letters that she was loved, truly, and she wasn’t alone.
I love you, he had written.
I adore you, he had said.
She pressed her face deeper into his jacket, eyes burning. Heart breaking. Her belly was sticky and her nipples were aching, her hair tangled from Jack and Vincent pulling it and running their hands through it. Soft hands. Skinny hands. No callouses from hard work. No blood staining them because they were protecting their nation. She tried to pretend John’s hands were on her instead but it was impossible to do when she knew John was a red blooded hard working American man. His hands would be rough but his touch would be gentle and being with him would leave her feeling satisfied, not used, and he wouldn’t rush off afterwards, he would want to stay with her and he would want to listen to anything she said and she wouldn’t be so alone.
Sobs were wrecking her freely now as she pressed her nose deeper into his fainting scent. Hoping where ever he was, he was okay and he didn’t hate her and he wouldn’t hold any of this against her. John had sounded shocked when she had asked him to promise to try, like if the thought of anyone wanting him to be alive, of her wanting him to come home, was unthinkable but nonetheless he’d curled his pinky an entire ocean away and he had promised her he would try. For him she would continue fighting and trying too.
Jean had spent months writing to him and getting to know him and despite the war and possible death looming and his missing best friend who he would go to the ends of the Earth for - Jean wondered, no - Jean knew this action must have crossed his mind once or twice when sending his jacket to her.
“Would she pretend it was me? Use it as if it was me with her? Take some of the pleasure I would give her?”
And despite the grief and loneliness, Jean knows this would help her try like he was.
Her nose is buried in the collar of the jacket, where his sweat collected in the sheepskin and she allows her tongue to poke out in hopes she could taste the saltiness of it. She imagines she does. She switches from her side to her knees, in order to get in better position, and like if it’s a sign from him for her to take what she needs, a cold button on the lapel rubs against her button. Her mouth drops open in a tiny gasp. In between her thighs it’s sticky and wet and she’s rubbing it all on his jacket but she knows it’s all her. None of it was Jack or Vincent or anything they may have left behind. No. This is simply what John does to her.
Jean thinks of his letters, of every filthy thing he had written. How he wanted to bite down on those pink nipples of her. How he wanted her to ride him as his face was slapped silly by her large breasts. She pinches a nipple and imagines it’s his teeth, humping his jacket in earnest now.
Oh it feels so good. Much better than anything she’s experienced, even with no penetration. No use of her fingers, just his jacket underneath her bundled between her thighs.
John, John, John - she’s gasping it into the bedroom. Breathless moans and crinkling sheets and the jostle of her breasts the only sounds.
John, I love you.
Bucky, come home to me.
Bucky, this is all for you. All of it.
Please never stop loving me. I’ll never be able to stop loving you. Even if you hate me.
She comes hard on his jacket. Pushing through sensitivity to continue smearing herself over him. Jean decides then and there that even if it does so happen he wants nothing to do with her upon returning, she’ll return him this jacket with her smeared over it and her scent overtaking it, and perhaps leaving a stain behind. And he would wear it again unknowingly and still carry her with him and she would always know at least she had this.
Jean falls into the sheets, nuzzling into his jacket once more. No longer feeling used up or alone or unloved. Her Johnny was with her.
“I love you for it, Johnny,” is muffled into his jacket, as if he’s lying in her arms and she’s speaking it into his skin. “I love you for the way you love me, sweet man.”

trying to sleep but this concept has taken a hold of me … thinking about jb first kiss .. but brienne initiating ! jb doing something and their close to each other. in my head jaime is wrapping her arm with bandage like his gold hand is elevating her arm, his left hand is wrapping gauze while she’s holding the roll with her unoccupied hand so he doesn’t drop it (teamwork!!!) but that seems so complicated but I like the idea of them working together on stuff like that ?? and another scenario I’m thinking of is something similar but instead of bandages jaime is sewing something up his left hand is holding the needle and thread while she’s just holding the thing he’s working on bc between the two of them I like to think jaime would be better at sewing anyway unimportant kind of but I was thinking of jb first kiss where brienne initiates … except she tries to but backs out but like comic panel where their heads are close together and he’s busy with something and she’s just looking at him .. at his lips .. he looks up catches her staring and she looks away flustered wanting to leave bc now she’s embarrassed but she can’t and he’s like ? Ok 😳

as a kid in utah, i remember really clearly that touch typing was a thing schools started teaching you as early as second grade, but my friends in arizona just. didn't ever learn and some of them are now teaching themselves to as adults. so now im kind of curious...
(It doesn't matter if their lessons actually stuck for you, I'm just curious if they even tried lol. feel free to also add in tags when they started teaching you and/or what general area of the country you live if you're comfortable!)

I love that manu went running to sven because he knows he will collect a card lol but then thomas ran to save manu because DON'T TOUCH HIM
Everything about that sequence is pure, concentrated comedy gold from start to finish 😂 so let’s do a play-by-play, shall we?
Now if you’ll direct your attention to the bottom right of the gif below, you’ll see a wild Sven Ulreich absolutely BOOKING IT from the stands, ready to go on a warpath. The Ulle cometh, so to speak.
Tumblr media
And naturally, he wastes ZERO time, nudging his way right into the thick of it.
Tumblr media
Strong words are exchanged, and by exchanged I mean it’s pretty much just Ulle cursing out anyone on the Union Berlin coaching staff within shouting distance.
Tumblr media
Sensing the escalating conflict in a way only a mama bear can, Manu swoops in to save the day (or to save Ulle from cutting a bitch—you decide).
Tumblr media
In the midst of his efforts to pry a positively irate Ulle out of the fray though, Manu sustains a few gentle shoves himself. This of course angers beloved twink warrior Thomas Müller, who rushes in to assist his decade partner in his Sven Ulreich rescue mission.
Now this may seem, to the untrained eye at least, like standard operating procedure for a hardened Bayern diplomat. In actuality though, it’s a desperate, last-ditch effort to get his bf tf outta there (mostly unscathed). And let’s face it: the only way to do that is to remove our notorious (affectionate) pot-stirring goalkeeping deputy from the scene so Manu doesn’t have to mediate for anyone anymore.
Tumblr media
Once the dust settles, only a visibly furious Thomas remains, who, naturally, has to be escorted away, because HOW DARE THEY touch his bf and brother-in-arms and think they’ll get off without a scratch?
Tumblr media
In all seriousness though, I love that even though Ulle is pretty much benched whenever Manu is fit, he’s still just as invested in the match and willing to do battle for any of his teammates whenever they’re slighted in any way. That’s why he’s our beloved little card collector—our favorite justice warrior 🥰
And we all know that when someone even thinks about harming his dearest Manu, Thomas’s protective instincts go into overdrive and he can’t help but give them hell for it. All the better that we got angry Ulle content out of the deal—a two-for-one special folks! It’s impossible not to love the complete circus that is our Bayern squad, I swear 😂 even when they’re not playing at their best, you can’t say they’re not entertaining!

Hi! I was looking to see if you know of many comics with Batman's villains at the lead!? (Besides Harley and Selina, who've had multiple series and are pretty easy to find). Other than the "Joker" Novel and Penguin: Pain and prejudice, i couldn't find any. Any good suggestions for Joker, Ivy, Two-Face, or any other villian from the Batman universe?
the tldr is that Ivy has several, Two-Face has a handful, the al Ghuls have a couple, and everyone else has had a couple of single issues starring them.
In general, the Batman Arkham series functions as a Batman Rogues Gallery "Greatest Hits" collection. While most of the stories collected in these trades don't feature the rogues as a protagonist, they all explore the characters and their backstories/motivations and feature them in a starring role!
On principle, I generally refuse to recommend Joker comics. Clown man has enough stuff starring him and they're generally easy enough to find without me promoting him more than he already is. Also, to be honest with you I occasionally go out of my way to avoid stuff starring him because he's frankly bored me ever since DC decided to emphasize him as a psychopathic serial killer instead of a funny villain with a clown gimmick.
However, The Joker's Five-Way Revenge (Batman vol. 1 #251) is a fun read, Joker: The Man Who Laughs and Joker's Last Laugh are both good, and Batman: The War of Jokes and Riddles is decent as well. Another fun one that's a little out of the box is Superman: Emperor Joker.
Other than that...I generally recommend the following for Ivy:
Batman Arkham: Poison Ivy (basically an 'Ivy Greatest Hits' collection)
Batman: Poison Ivy (1997)
No Man's Land (yes, it's long. No, Ivy's not a 'lead'. yes, it's also ground zero for Ivy's redemption arc and features her in a major role)
Gotham City Sirens (2009)
Swamp Thing by Scott Snyder (specifically Vol. 2, Family Tree, and Vol. 3, Rotworld: The Green Kingdom)
Poison Ivy: Cycle of Life and Death (2016)
Poison Ivy (2021) by G. Willow Wilson (curently ongoing)
Ivy also pops up in Ram V's Catwoman (2018) run and pretty consistently in Harley's solo books after 2015.
For Two-Face (my beloved), read Batman: The Long Halloween and Batman: Dark Victory (which function as a double feature). Then read any of the following:
Batman: Faces (Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight #28-30)
Batman: Two-Face (1995)
Batman Annual #14: "Eye of the Beholder"
Gotham Central, which has an extended Harvey-Renee Montoya subplot
Batman/Two-Face: "Crime and Punishment"
Batman/Two-Face: Face the Face (2006)
Two-Face: Year One (2008)
Batman and Robin (2011) 23.1: Two-Face
Detective Comics #1020-1022: “The Ugly Heart”
Two-Face: One Bad Day
And for a couple of stories that aren't Harvey-focused but feature him as a prominent antagonist...read Robin: Year One, A Lonely Place of Dying, and Batman: Prodigal.
For the al Ghuls, apart from the Batman Arkham collections you're primarily looking for Tales of the Demon, the Demon Trilogy (Birth of the Demon, Bride of the Demon, Son of the Demon), Batman: The Chalice, and Batman Annual #26 (the prologue to Resurrection of Ra's al Ghul, which is also fun). Two of Damian's Robin solos (Robin: Son of Batman (2015) and Robin (2021)) also prominently feature Talia. There are...certainly other options, if you want to read about the al Ghuls, but they're rarely well characterized in those (except Talia's LexCorp CEO arc; all hail Talia's Lexcorp CEO arc).
Clayface (the Basil Karlo version) prominently featured as a protagonist in Tynion's Detective Comics Rebirth (2016) run.
Everyone else...apart from stories where they're the prominent antagonist, there were several Villain takeover issues during the period of Batman and Robin (2011) when Damian was dead, Year of the Villain had a few issues focused on the Batman Rogues, and the One Bad Day series focuses each issue on a different Bat Rogue.
There are plenty of other stories centered on various members of Batman's Rogues Gallery, but hopefully this gives you a solid starting place!
