Was reading Hussie's commentary and he brought up how establishing the way a character speaks allows you to explore the way they differentiate it or allow themselves to be influenced whenever they talk to certain characters e.g. Jade's language becoming more profane thanks to Karkat or Rose's silly interjections during Kanaya's rambles and I've been thinking about when that kind of fluidity shows with Ult Dirk.
Dirk's a character who already has a defined personality and way of talking so the sudden attitude change in the Epilogues makes it feel like a totally different guy is speaking. Without a good understanding of his splinters speech patterns (and what the 'Ultimate Self' means) Ult Dirk doesn't come across as a character with an inconsistent personality in conversations besides the obvious difference between Dirk in Homestuck and Dirk in the Epilogues, but he tends to imitate whatever splinter is closest / most familiar with the person he's conversing / interacting with.
He's overly verbose and misleading with Kanaya as the only splinter of his who knows her well is Doc Scratch, and he does act doc-esque with Rose too but more in a mentor sort of way. He forces Jake to acknowledge things he's aware of but is uncomfortable with confronting like Brain Ghost Dirk, and taunts or challenges him bitterly like Hal does. With Dave he's pretty set on leading him down the path of the warrior without consideration for how Dave feels about that or how invasive some of his behaviour is and oversteps Dave's boundaries for the sake of what he thinks is the best way to get things done like his Bro. There's also a little bit of Arquius' concerns for him because of his appreciation for Davepeta.
He's horribly Caliborn adjacent (thanks to Lord English + Lil Cal) whenever Alt Calliope's around which Alt Callie absolutely picks up on and frequently tells him so. He also views and treats John in the same way Caliborn does; as a blank slate protagonist for the audience. There's the silly obsession with Davekat too which leads him to making a lot of unnecessary comments about them.
There's many subtle switch ups in his behaviour which seem to happen frequently and subconciously and it's pretty funny? Though it feels kinda weird contemplating how that process works for him. Just got a tug of war over his own psyche going on at all times

“why are you talking to me right now? can’t you see i’m busy? whatever. this better be worth my time.“
STEEL AVARICE ...
... TO say vivi is willing to do anything for money is a bit misleading. she'd do a lot of things for money, and she'd either find a loophole around it or do it with a dignity that makes it hard to criticise her. she's just one of those people, unflinching no matter what situations they enter into. if she's gotten that far, it's fair to say she's probably already weighed all the possibilities etc etc.
... FOR those who are into domineering women in suits vivi should be a dream come true and she knows this appeal quite intimately. she's not sugar mommy territory, but give her twenty/thirty years and you might have a different answer to that. or she'll just be at the top of some nameless fortune 500 that offshores all of their assets. it's a coinflip.
APPEARANCE ...
fairly tall, probably in the 5'10 ish range. vivi's atheltic but not in any way that makes it seem like she's professionally trained, she just goes to the gym every so often.
short black hair that seems to have outgrown blond dye that still lingers on her ends, vivi's hair comes down to just above her shoulders with a bit of a wave to it. her eyes are
on a first glance, it would be easy to say that vivi dresses to impress every day of her life. tailored, sleek suits and crisp white suits, finished with a goddamn briefcase and a set of heels that she could very well kill someone with, if her glare and sharp words aren't enough. seeing her in a casual setting is near-impossible considering how hard she works, but she's partial to blouses.
OTHER ...

Did you notice that when Lucien decided she's worth fighting for, it was after he used the bond and looked into her soul to find out why she was at this state? Because I totally did.
Not only that but he blushed when he got to her end, before Elain flinched and stood up. Whatever he saw, he liked it and I think it scared Elain because it might've been a part that no one was suppose to see or know about? A dark part that she hid deep within her whole life perhabs?
Best part? Lucien wanted to meet her only to see if she's worth fighting for. Elain was in a horrible state when he met her. She was so depressed and looked sick, she said weird things that scared her sisters, yet Lucien decided she's worth it. Never once thought that this was too much for him.
I find it funny when people always brag about how only Azriel sees her and cares for her and whatever when in the book it was mentioned that he and Cassian drew sticks because both of them didn't want to play babysitter for Elain. It was mentioned that Lucien would willingly, but Feyre didn't want to ask him. I get it, it was Azriel who found out what Elain's powers are, but Lucien was the one who knew what she needed: sunshine. Before that scene, it was mentioned that Azriel would go to the library for Information and Feyre did ask Azriel what was wrong with her to which Azriel didn't respond and just winnowed away. I'm guessing he was going to the library. The scene where Azriel told us what Elain is was such a smart move from Sarah to mislead the audience and make them think it was Azriel who knew what's "wrong" with her. Azriel didn't knew just out of the blew, he goes to the library for Information and has shadows that see, hear and know things others don't. His own POV and his behaviour in acosf made it clear enough that he does not see through Elain.
Need I say more? Because you nailed it.
Kidding, of course I'll say more because I love talking about this stuff! You still nailed it though.
Shadowsingers "hear and feel things others can't" and that's a direct quote from Rhys. Is it really all that surprising or uniquely special to Elain that after weeks of confusion on everyone's part he figured out Elain's power first?
Mates can sense what's wrong, sure. But even the healer said, there was nothing necessarily "wrong" with Elain, she's just changed. Lucien has only ever spoken to Elain as she is. Which means the only version he has known her to be is a Seer. He had no baseline comparison to how she was as a human and there was in fact nothing "wrong" with her aside from her depression. Her ability turned out to be a gift, not a problem.
I’d also like to point out that neither Rhys nor Cassian knew how to immediately get through to their mates either.  If Mates can cure all, see all, then why did Nesta spiral out of control for so long?  Cassian should have known how to immediately get through to her but he didn’t, it took time.  Feyre also dealt with depression for months as well.  And both Rhys and Cassian had opportunities to interact with Feyre and Nesta before they were traumatized by being made Fae.  Lucien has not been given that same opportunity with Elain.
And as far as I can tell, and agreeing with what you said, Lucien seems to be the only one who has REALLY looked inside Elain and I think we’re going to find that that is a major contributor to why she shies away from him.  Elain is good and loving but she definitely hides what she truly wants under a cloak of agreeability.  She doesn’t want to make waves or be a bother.  So she’s got her act going, the “I’m fine, everything’s fine”, act.  But I do think Lucien sees that she’s holding back and is too scared to speak out, that she’s got a lot more going on up in her brain than she wants to admit.  When there’s one person you can’t hide your truth from,  you’re going to avoid them if you’re not prepared to be honest with yourself.  That person’s knowledge challenges you in a way you’re not comfortable with, yet.  But I think the fact that Lucien has looked inside Elain, felt what’s really inside of her, and still longs for her is proof that he found her so worthy he’s been willing to give her time to figure out who she is and what she wants despite how much pain it brings him. And I think one day, Elain will come to appreciate the one person who challenges her to admit to everything she  keeps inside.

Love Reading 😍 - May 2023 - Cancer
Singles:
Overall energy: 5 Swords
How you will meet: 4 Cups
How they will treat you: 8 Swords
Long-term Potential: The Lovers
Oracle: Don’t just do something, sit there!
This feels like a case of opposites attract, you having nothing in common. You could have known them for awhile, and initially you didn’t like each other, could even have been outright mean to each other. In time you’ve kept in touch, but I don’t see that as being close. You talked, you’re friendly. Ish. It goes from “I can’t stand you” to “I’m obsessed with you” and there’s no real in-between here. Lilith could be involved in this connection, conjunct or squared something, it’s got the vibe of it.
They didn’t choose you initially, and you were defensive over them lying or misleading you purposely. Then you get another chance with them, and they say nothing about another person they have waiting in the wings. It’s like this is chance two or three with this person. They’re a fkboy/girl, repeatedly not choosing you or treating you as worthy, when you clearly are, and they’re not respecting you. They’re immature, and you’re hanging on because you’re obsessed with them. Why? 😕 Long term, they’re going to knock the wind right out of you when they choose someone else (probably…again). Either you have been throwing yourself at this person, especially in an intimate sort of way, or you’ve made your obsession clear as crystal…for some they could even be purposely fking with your head and acting like it’s mutual, just to stab you in the back later when they chase the next best thing. This person is no good for you Cancer, you deserve so much better than this. They aren’t exactly setting the bar high either, basic respect is better. If it was meant to happen, it would happen. Your Oracle says to sit there and wait it out, knowing this person is just gonna fk it up.

Couples:
Overall energy: Justice
Current: The Fool
Challenge: 4 Swords
How they feel about you: Page of Wands
How you feel about them: 5 Pentacles & King of Cups rev
Outcome: 7 Swords
You two could be really young, as in this is your first relationship ever. There’s a level of immaturity between you both, and they kinda get on your nerves. It’s pretty casual, not deeply committed, and you two could be deciding to just be friends after maybe having gone out a few times. You may not be seeing them clearly and that’s part of the issue. They’re also a needy or whining type that just makes you cringe, someone that complains a lot about everything. But…that’s showing up as your own energy too. Oracles show them, reading shows you, everyone is complaining. Their energy makes it seem like they’re just clueless, in general, about how you feel, about life, work, love, etc. Again, a very young energy. It’s not personal. They don’t know how to give you what you want, if you’re at all experienced.
You did rush into this relationship headfirst though, and whatever feelings between you were mutual, because 2 Cups is here. That’s love. Someone could be losing their job, you?, which throws a huge wrench into the connection. Or sleep is becoming a problem, calling off from work, not speaking while you’re at work. Seems to be you with the issue, like if they’re not talking to you AT ALL times, something is amiss. They’re clueless, and probably don’t intend to make you feel so 🤯 How they feel about you is either you’re extremely burdened about having to find a job that you want or like, or that you don’t hate anyway, and maybe you haven’t heard back from anywhere and it’s taking time. Or, if you are working, they’re burdened by having to answer you right away and pay you constant attention in order to keep you happy. Sometimes they can’t.
How you feel is left behind, abandoned, extremely emotional because your person is holding back and not speaking to you right this second, every second. Or if they’ve lost a job, you could see them as a needy complainer type and it’s driving you bananas. Either way it’s like you see and assume the worst of them, or vice versa. Outcome for now is avoiding reconciling or any peaceful resolutions and looking at your options more in line with what you actually want. You could be taking a temporary time out to just think, needing some space.

attractive things you do a lot
Tumblr media
[sorta milestone celebration, but also something i made during todo’s birthday]
character(s) : multiple; five or more.
legend : [Y/N = your name] they/them pronouns used, hinted to have a strong quirk but it’s not mentioned alot
post type : headcanons + scenario [fluff, the mildest of spice.] third year au! but it’s nothing nsfw, so no need to worry.
note(s) : i was planning on doing denki, tamaki, monoma, and 2 other characters— but my idea train stopped at shinsou so i’m sorry about that! just let me manifest some ideas rq, and i’ll make a part two.
»»————- ♡ ————-««
todoroki shouto
eye contact is so attractive to him, he can’t explain it’s exact details
it’s definitely the way the both of you guys can practically read each other’s expressions just by staring into each other’s eyes it’s sorta telepathic?? im half joking
he absolutely loves the way you look away bashfully when you realize he’s staring at you— as you try to pretend he wasn’t just staring at you not so discreetly
and if you feel like it, you’ll stare back at him— totally teasing him with your eyes, as he slowly realizes that you’ve caught him staring
really adores your thinking face for some reason, you could be plotting about giving bakugou a knuckle sandwich, and shouto would just stare like “my s/o’s so attractive :))”
another thing he really likes is when you hold onto his hand, dragging his left side to your face whenever you feel colder than usual
you practically do the same thing when it’s too hot, and he doesn’t care if you’re sweaty or not. nope, not one bit.
he always found it attractive when he sees you bop your head to songs you really like. shouto just really likes seeing you enjoy yourself.
an extra to the cool/hot bit, he makes you run towards his direction by turning off the ac/heater.
last but not the least, his heart swoons when you kiss his scar. he has always been insecure about it, and you have helped him a lot!
mild spice here— whenever you bite your lip, his heart skips a beat
your lips are just so perfect to him, the shape, size, and color. so biting your lip does something alright. he doesn’t know what exactly though.
to conclude this, todoroki’s just whipped for you— it’s very noticable when he finds you extra attractive.
midoriya izuku
he loves seeing you hyped about something you’re really interested in.
like todoroki, seeing you enjoy yourself genuinely makes him content. his s/o having their own interests is really big for him
strength is something he admires (but he’s not power hungry like end*avor, don’t get confused).
so no, it doesn’t just reflect on your strong and capable quirk—
no. it’s so much deeper than that to him, seeing that you can overcome challenges makes his heart swoon
when you tilt your head when listening to him- omg. he might just short circuit from the way you’re looking at him intensely.
he likes it a lot when you reach for his hand, enveloping your hand against his
an extra point if you pay extra attention to the callouses and scars on his hands— purposely rubbing a thumb across his scars
fixing his tie.
like.. [SIMP SCREAMS] he doesn’t really know how to fix it properly, but if you do it for him— he’ll start imagining a rather domestic life so BWNDNWNS warn him
mild spice here— but he loves seeing you fix your hero costume?? there’s something about it that makes him refuse to look away. he thinks you’re very hot btw
but the top tier? it’s when you get along with his mom, and children
like.. you don’t have to be good with them, but you should at least be nice to them! midoriya’s deal breaker is if you don’t get along with his mom so.. you really have to in this relationship
bakugou katsuki
when you put him back in his place- well.. let me explain this one
people are so easily intimidated by him, so people don’t talk at him when he says some shit
so he’ll be genuinely surprised if you talk back at him, because it shows him that you're not afraid of him (and that’s important in a relationship with bakugou)
when you put his face in his palms. he’ll scowl and tell you off, but he actually likes holding your face in his palms
his hands are naturally clammy, so he’s secretly so insecure about them, and if you show him that you really don’t care- then.. that’ll keep him up at night.
same thing with shouto, but if you run to him for warm in colder weathers, that’ll give him an ego boost.
knowing that you’ll only look for him, whenever you feel cold makes him feel all “mushy” inside. again, like how bakugou is- he’ll pretend he absolutely despises it but he’ll actually love it.
mild spice here- but seeing you all worn out, panting under him when he spars with you is something that’ll leave him speechless for the rest of the day. man can’t stop thinking about it, and he has to restrain himself.
last but not the least- it’s when you touch/play with his hair.
YUUUP.
so unexpected because he never lets anyone touch it, sometimes not even his own mother.
but the only hands that are touching the ash blond mesh that is his hair is you.
do whatever with them. create small braids, comb it, tie it with a scrunchy, straighten it. really- he has trust in you
he’s just so whipped when you do it, and it calms him down.
kirishima eijirou
when you call him manly 🤠
and when you do things he considers as ‘manly’ like going out of your way to train your quirk— and helping him study for something he doesn’t quite get and when you succeed
another ‘manly’ thing is when you manage to encourage him— because he himself had confidence issues
so if you do that, he’ll be planning the wedding asap
whenever you just make grabby hands at his hair— wanting to style his hair
oh and if you wanted to redo his roots (if they grow back) then he’ll let you <3 because he absolutely adores it
when you start tracing his jawline when you’re staring at him. he was very caught off guard when you did this for the first time
but he absolutely loves the sensation.
stretching before any exercise! just the way you twist yourself with ease.. he’s mesmerized
he stares a little too much, to the point he gets called out by bakugou multiple times
a little spicy here — he likes your teeth. normal teeth, canine teeth, fangs, whatever!
doesn’t matter if you’re bite your lip, or runnig your tongue along the edge of a tooth. are you trying to seduce him?
he will be seduced 💀 face practically rivalling his faux red hair, trying to avert his gaze— thinking about how pretty you just looked like.
last but not the least!
back hugs. he’s such a fan of them, regardless if you’re taller than him, or shorter
surprise him, and he’ll turn around with this big dopey smile— and he’ll trap you in his arms
shinsou hitoshi
okay, if you randomly send him pictures of yourself (either your prettiest pictures, or the weirdest pictures) he’ll be so in love
like— just look at you! you’re gorgeous to him (saves every singe candid photo you’ve send him)
this is a really weird one but.. when you pick up things with your feet (bonus points if you do it with ease.)
when you start fixing your hair, doing whatever to it— he’s just in awe. (have you hypnotized him with your beauty?)
get him things for his hair like headbands, scrunchies, little barretts and pigtails
he’ll keep it in for as long as he can— since his hair is a little wild, a little braid or ponytail wouldn’t hurt, right?
spice warning (?) whispering into his ear makes his heart pound 10x faster like.. are you trying to kill him?
his quirk gave him a habit of listening to someone’s voice.. a little too much.
SO IF YOU WHISPER IN HIS EAR, HE’LL STOP FUNCTIONING :) do whatever with that info tbh
last but never the least— when you support him, and his journey to becoming a hero
because people have told him that he’ll never be a hero because his quirk was too villainy
nope. you think differently, and that’s what he thinks is most attractive about you.
the ability to support and believe him, even if his quirk seems a little misleading.

The mad mask dead au. Share ur info
ALRIGHT BET
I warn you now, it's long.
TW for hallucinations, body horror(? yeah, probably) and well, yeah
also derealisation and panic attack trigger warnings
So, Mad mask dead.
Plotline of the au starts out with Mask waking up in a cold dark space, and the thing is, he doesn't remember jack shit about what happened, or anything really.
Moments later he called to by a being (who looks an awful lot like full moon glasses) who calls themself 'The Squid god'. And then guess what, Mask gets told that he fucking died, yeah.
Squid god says that they'll grant Mask 'one final day' to live via the power of 'rewind.' But they give him a challenge course in some sort of afterlife to make sure he's 'worthy.'
Mask wakes up again, in a still cold, but not so dark place. A voice or two maybe humming in his head, but now he's at least probably not dead. So he sets off, sort of without purpose.
After a while, Mask takes a pit-stop to try and remember what the hell he was supposed to be doing. he almost swears that he can hear a small voice talking before he realizes something.
He's trying to get to the surface, that's what he's supposed to be doing. He realizes this with a shout, something shouts after him, and it's close as well.
So of course, he looks for the source, eventually finding out it's coming from... his chest? or, well, the gaping hole in it anyways.
( ...How didn't he notice THAT before??)
The source of the voice introduces itself to Mask as his heart... one of them at least. They then prompt Mask's other heart to come and introduce it's self. Mask does take a second to ponder why the hell they were Pink and Orange respectively but hey, who cares, he'll just call them Pink and Orange.
anyways, further on into whatever the hell this place is, out trio find a group of people who are acting strangely, they don't seem to respond to... anything, plus they look sick... it's concerning.
Mask just leaves them, for now...
But of course, fate has other plans for him. He eventually gets back to the area where all these... strange ass people were and- OH BOY THEY ARE HOSTILE NOW WHAAT.
Anyways, after Mask does a bit of... homicide, he passes the fuck out. Cue in... Squid God! Who tells him that he's on the right track to the surface, and to follow the ink.
Mask wakes back up with Pink and Orange worrying over him because, well, what just happened. Mask notices an ink trail and of course, follows it.
so, things aren't really interesting for a while, that is until Pink starts to become... sceptical if Mask is actually seeing things correctly, Orange as well. Eventually, they have to cause a major intervention when Mask almost dies from a charger laser. Cue a giant chase scene with Mask trying to evade lot's of charger shots and trying not to die at the same time.
But everything is misleading, everything is twisting a turning and Mask can't figure out what's happening anymore. Suddenly the walls are closing in and everything is confining him to be under this snipers gaze.
And then it happens, the second major rewind after the very first. To before they had entered the area in which the beam was trained onto them. Cue Mask panic attack. Don't worry, Pink and Orange do manage to help him through it.
So now Squid God is suspicious, why did the ink Mask was told to follow lead to him almost dying? Who knows! Back to trying to find the surface, oh he also finds a Carbon roller.
however, it's not a short break from the angst train. In fact, it decides to hit us all hard when Orange calls Pink 'Aloha' by mistake.
This keys Mask in to their true identities... and what happened before he died.
But that's all I'm sharing for now, because I am tired.

I have to say, this was my biggest worry with Chris McNally; that he would juggle multiple roles on other shows. Accepting other jobs is something I would not blame him for though. Might as well have an out if WCTH doesn't perform well. Congrats to him though!
But two other roles and WCTH??? It'll be interesting to see how that filming schedule works out and how big the roles really are.
Yet it makes the Lucas pick over Nathan even more frustrating.
We all wanted upwards of 20 seasons of this show (before the love triangle stuff of course). I felt like Kevin McGarry as a leading man on WCTH was the perfect, most secure match. Kevin McGarry seemed to be really trying to earn a leading man role for Hallmark considering it always seems a challenge for him elsewhere (why? IDK). I'm thinking Kevin was caught off guard by Nathan not being picked because he is nowhere to be found in Heartland Season 15.
Anyway, considering the previews ALREADY teasing a Lucas/Elizabeth engagement it suggests, to me, the show is being fast-tracked to be wrapped into a tiny little bow.
Maybe I'm all wrong here? but it feels like the beginning of the end for the show...
Yeah, you can't blame the guy for hustling. They're great opportunities for him. It does seem like there's a lot on his plate but the scheduling works out currently. Firefly Lane wraps up in April so he may have already been working on that. Pink Ladies just started a couple weeks ago and goes through June.
Who knows what Kevin had or has planned. It might have been Heartland that decided to go in a different direction with things. Maybe Kevin had plans with Kayla instead (they did film a movie together). He does seem content with what he has and is working that Hallmark angle which is a great gig to have. No shame in that.
The engagement preview is a giant mislead. It has to be. The king of grand gestures isn't going to propose to Elizabeth by handing her a ring box. Not a chance. It's probably a storyline where someone lost something or whatever and Lucas finds it and gives it to Elizabeth and for a second she thinks he's proposing. There could be a proposal at the end of the season though. The focus is obviously on the two of them but hopefully other characters also get a chance to have the progress they've been lacking.
I think the audience will be the determining factor in when the show ends. As long as it remains popular for Hallmark, they'll keep it around... unless Hallmark decides to shift away from series television. Only WCTH and Chesapeake Shores (which they haven't announced a renewal of) are left with no hints that any more shows are in the works. It'll be interesting to see what the ratings are this season.

astro notes: neptune edition (pt. 2)
neptune represents issues which are frequently unconscious, so all of this may operate without your awareness. if projected, the negative aspects of neptune become more emphasised. the more you reject it in your own life, the more likely it is that you’ll meet it in exaggerated ways outside yourself.
neptune in the 7th house
this is another loaded placement; you are likely to encounter difficulties in the area of personal relationships. there are many manifestations of this placement: you may look for a savior to ease the feelings of loneliness and isolation rather than taking responsibility by becoming your own person, you might wish to merge with your partner. if you become too dependent on anyone, they’re going to let you down one way or another. the alternative manifestation is you playing savior to your partner. hence, the reputation of this placement as a magnet to victim types (negatively: drug addicts, unstable people w a shady/difficult past, “artists”, wannabe geniuses and prophets, etc) who need a lot of mothering and cleaning up after.
wherever neptune is placed in the chart, a lot is asked of us. you often give a lot in relationships - often sacrificing things for the sake of your partner. some of you exhibit a kind of selfless, saintly love worthy of true respect, but this can easily turn into letting yourself being walked over as if you have no rights in the relationship. there is a fine line between authentic selflessness and tolerance and just being a doormat. your often idealized romantic notion of what a relationship looks like doesn’t consider the hard work that must be put into it. the yearning for perfection in your partner + the relationship actually makes you very difficult people to live with. unconsciously, you can be very critical and judgemental about the other’s flaws or whatever element they have that doesn’t match your notion of Love. soulmates can still argue about the way the other squeezes the toothpaste tube, it doesn’t mean the love isn’t very much real. ultimately, this planet should represent a non-attached love, a love that doesn’t cling or swallow up any of the people involved. somewhere between demanding others adjust to you, or always adjusting yourselves to others, is the kind of envisioned neptunian love.
neptune in the 8th house
if neptune can’t be at home (12th house) then his next favorite house is that of his bestie, pluto (8th). neptune’s major thrust is the loss of boundaries - what better place to lose them than in the house of sex, sharing and intimacy?
sex is often symbolic in this position; rather than just being enjoyed for its sake, it is the means to alleviate psychological pressures and concerns. sex is also a way of merging with others, hence transcending the means of oneself. i’ve noticed physical intimacy is also an escape from loneliness, and the promiscuity associated w this placement comes from this. some may feel that giving themselves sexually is also a way of serving. this placement is also present in people confused about their sexual identities. neptune is so diffuse and adaptable, so fluid and shapeless, that they have difficulty knowing what they really want. conversely, problematic aspects to saturn may suggest a fear of letting go - a tension between holding on and letting go (abstaining from sex altogether). my friend with this placement told me she always fantasizes about people she isn’t with rather than her girlfriend. neptune is never content with what it has. besides, if you know someone too well, their alien magnetism eventually wears out.
there may be complications and strange circumstances in the area of the partner’s money and joint finances. economic losses and gains will have a significant psychological impact, and could ultimately stop you from finding security inwardly rather than on the material world. in any case, you should seek advice for making financial investments. depending on the aspects, non-material forces can operate constructively or destructively within you. positively, you’ll receive guidance and inspiration as if out of nowhere and are well advised to keep up a dream diary, for they may prove significant to whatever you’re going through. you may serve as a source of comfort and inspiration for others who are going through crisis (david bowie, malcolm x, simone de beauvoir, etc); negatively, you may feel possessed - as if you’ve been taken over by something powerful outside yourself. you may receive misleading guidance from other dimension.
since neptune wants to go Home and the 8th house is the house of Death, some people w this placement may entertain self-destructive fantasies when life gets too tough. unless neptune has harsh aspects to saturn, there isn’t a fear of death, since the desire to transcend worlds is so strong.
neptune in the 9th house
both neptune and the 9th house have a tendency to need the “right” answer, there’s a possibility for an enduring search for The Truth (think Mulder from the x-files). both are mutable and connected to faith and beliefs. both are haunted by the need for perfection due to unrealistic expectations. neither is noted for common sense or doing anything half-assed. the thing is, this placement will tend to overemphasise whatever issues are valued to you. naturally, pisces (neptune) is square sagittarius (9th house), indicating some conflict to be resolved. neptune in the 9th is also a mix of fire and water, giving it a great emotional intensity.
there’s two types of you: those who will lean towards the 9th house and say the truth no matter who gets hurt; and those who follow neptune and choose to lie to protect others’ feelings. you’re pulled in both directions and will need to find a middle ground to satisfy your need for truth and others at the same time. if you don’t, explosions of repressed feelings will occur that will seem OOC for the people around you. you also must be wary of your expectations with education; being educated about everything won’t fulfill every need in you.
balance is an important lesson for you. you always want to go overboard w the next big idea; the challenge is to act on them practically and without dangerous disruptions in other areas of your life. examine your personal beliefs, conscious and unconscious. clarify your expectations about truth, philosophy and the meaning of life.
neptune in the 10th house
positively, someone with this placement can be drawn into a deeply spiritual or creative career, or maybe something to do with counseling. you’ll be inclined to dedicate a great deal of time and energy to said career because it provides you with an enormous sense of fulfillment that you don’t find in other areas of life. you might as well revolve your life around your job. that’s fine, as long as you stay aware of your choice and make the effort to cultivate some personal relationships and outside interests. you tend to be happiest when working - with something you love, obviously. you may feel a responsibility to contribute something meaningful to the world, whether in terms of helping others or creatively. that’s great, but you’ll also feel your work is just that, a contribution - a piece in the grand scheme of things.
you’ll be a great deal happier when employed, but you also need to feel you’re improving; you’re ambitious, whether or not you’re aware of it. you always have an eye in the possibility of promotion, for the 10th house is not only about a career but to success defined in worldly terms. this means an unconscious need to gain more and more, in position, status and salary. if this remains unconscious, you might let it take over your life. few people find lifetime satisfaction within a career unless it’s spiritual, educational or creative.
negatively, this placement finds people who can’t find satisfaction anywhere outside their job. such person lives for her job, and expects it to provide for all needs: physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. they may expect the job itself to be perfect, and be miserable when it’s not. another negative expression is the indecision regarding a career, not being able to truly commit to anything. you want something big and important, something perfect (ps: it doesn’t exist), something better and of more help to humanity than anyone else has come up with. yet you often expect to accomplish this without any training or effort.
this placement might also refer to the father (10th house = saturn): you might think the world of your dad and wish to be like him or, negatively, you may have expected him to be perfect. some of you might have him on a pedestal and not accept the idea of him being less than perfect. or he might’ve been a strange figure; he might’ve been withdrawn, either a victim or simply a loner. he may have died or left your life altogether, leaving you with a fantasy figure, a father who only exists in your mind. you’ll benefit greatly by examining your beliefs about his importance in your life. you might avoid thinking of him altogether and the same is true of your career: you might expect far too much or deny its importance.
neptune in the 11th house
this placement inspires a natural caring for others and immediate feeling of bonding and solidarity with those with whom wer share this planet. many have an utopian visions and will join groups that promote humanitarian or social causes. you feel the need to participate w other in bringing their idea of good into the world. you’ll likely fight for the underdog. if some segment of society is mistreated, you feel it as if it were happening to you. some might be more attracted to artistic or spiritual groups. if neptune has hard aspects, your group might have big ideas but never bring them to fruition.
in less politically minded people, group activities can simply be a way of escaping routine. you could lose yourselves in a social whirl, seeking ever more interesting friends and parties. if neptune is badly aspected, there could be disillusionment or deception through friendships. you easily feel your friendship ideals are being betrayed. some may even manipulate friends by making them feel sorry for you. another manifestation of this placement is that your friends carry the neptunian projection: you might find yourself drawn to artists, healers, romantic daydreamers, or just losers lmao.
neptune in the 12th house
ahh, neptune at home. this can be a double dose of either comfort or dissatisfaction. the hardest part of this placement is the lack of consciousness about itself and how it operates. what works from the unconscious has far more power to affect us than we think.
it might be difficult for you to think about your own values; they’re so unquestioned as to be beyond challenge. you think they simply are what they are, and resist any categorisation or definition. you can’t separate yourself from them. with neptune here, you’re less connected to the material world than others, more in tune with the spiritual one. you could well have psychic abilities. you never fully embrace “reality” because you’re aware, if only barely, that the universe encompasses so much more than our minds can handle. the danger is that you’ll come to this conclusion before developing any ego strenght. with ego strenght, you honor yourself as well as your vision; without it you’ll tend to be overwhelmed and easily terrified.
with neptune in the 12th, you need to take a long hard look at your tendency to idealise peace, universal love, sacrifice and service, art and music, and the spiritual path. this placement isn’t a problem by itself, unless there’s other contradicting placements or bad aspects. if nothing is repressed or ignored, it’s actually a fantastic gift. the main problem is the aforementioned lack of awaress of what your values mean and how they affect the quality of your life. my friend with this placement feels that death is simply another step of growth for the soul; of course she grieves, but she tends to think everything happens for a reason. i deeply admire her ability to live in touch with both the material and spiritual world.

Is there a plausible reason for the PB fandom to hate Grace so much? I'm shocked sometimes because there is no real reason, and like, a lot of them would rather see Lizzie being treated like nothing by Tommy (because his lack of love affection for her is very clear) than accepting that he loved Grace.
I mean... WAKE UP HATERS SHE'S THE ONLY ONE 😌
(I LOVE your theories btw, they give me life)
❤ Glad to hear that ❤
First of all I confess that I don’t like to write this kind of post, I prefer to focus on what I like but I will answer you according to my criteria so...
I believe that this hatred, when exists, is mainly because of two reasons with a first and last name:
First Reason, Thomas Shelby
- Thomas is the protagonist of this story, and as often happens, with whom we live more situations and experience more emotions, therefore we empathize more with him than with the rest (which makes us forgive him easily as well).
And this brings me to the next point: quite a few of the supporting characters are vaguely developed, SK tries with Arthur and Polly but many times I see more inconsistencies in their narrative arcs than anything else. Many of them are puppets or tools at his service. In my opinion, this situation started in the second season and was accentuated in the third one. This leads to the public becoming more attached to him due to his strength as a character in comparison and because we better understand his motivations, hence we distance ourselves unconsciously from the others (including Grace), who seem shadows of what they were or could have been...Season 1 is the most generous in this regard, even Finn has personality there.
-  Thomas has become an idol for men and women as a consequence of his Gary Stu qualities and a writing that blesses him with luck, which crowns him with the title of untouchable in the eyes of his fans or viewers, obviously not all of them, who decide to continue with this story, his story. Eg. 4x1, if it wasn’t for the miraculous letters he found that compromised the king, his family would have been executed because of him.
Second Reason, Grace Burgess
- Grace is a character who truly challenges and misleads/confuses him and that is linked to making him look bad (harming his “reputation”) or literally hurting him.
["Character X" touches "Untouchable Character" = Disgusting Character that is worthless and should be dead].
I'm not making it up; you can often find one of these adjectives aimed at her or other characters in a similar situation.
- And if we add to that Grace is a person who comes and goes, the viewer doesn’t know her or empathize with her so much, which makes her unpredictable, "unpredictably harmful". However, I have to say in favor of SK that in her case, unlike other secondary characters, he made up for her lack of screen time through details to delve into her psyche, but he didn't try too hard either, huh. Eg. She wrote him letters for two years telling him about her life (S2), the lavender color that we saw in 3x1 and 3x2 means the mourning that she feels for her deceased husband, among others.
 Thomas' lovers
- And finally, the viewers prefer Lizzie (faithful to Thomas from minute one), or May (more business = more wealth), over Grace.
Reading the statements of her detractors, I’ve come to the conclusion that the problem, or the key, is usually the same: She is a worthy character / partner depending on how useful is to him.
Yes, as if they were scissors to prune a hedge. And hey! They are not entirely wrong, taking into account their depth or that the conflicts they present with themselves and for the plot are more superficial than a puddle, especially May. They are simply there, waiting to be used by Thomas... and that availability, that control over them and the assurance that they won’t "create problems / harm" the Untouchable it’s what they really like the most. It doesn't matter if Thomas treats them like shit or they have nothing in common, or even if they use each other for purely superficial purposes. As long as Thomas comes out well from whatever and the woman in question has been good to him they make a wonderful couple. So yeah, I hope Lizzie is the Black Swan because she at least has potential.
-Oh! But I'm not saying a dysfunctional relationship isn't worth telling or developing, long live the diversity! That can offer a lot, BUT that’s not the case here, mainly because of the immense indifference shown by one of the parties and the inactivity of the other. (Guess which is which).
In short: They are angry because Grace putted one over on Tommy, the blue eyed boy, and on top of that, he liked it and then got married to her. Instead, Lizzie is easier to handle than a lollipop.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the story and most of the characters, but as much as I like something, contrary to Thomas, and quoting Grace: I'm not blind.
 Thx for asking

FULL REVIEWS: “Covention”
I didn’t think I’d have a harder time doing these reviews on my days off than on a workday, but errands and all that. I had no expectations going into this episode at the time since “covention” is a fake made up word. But I heard Amity was going to be in it, so I got excited. The spice of life returns. It’s been a hot minute. Let’s see how the episode holds up.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The episode starts with one of my favorite cold openings. Super funny and gives a good shot at those books that have that pretentious flowery language. Seriously who says “thou” and “hast” anymore. Lame. Luz tossing King into the portal right when it closes was my favorite bit. Was Eda really going to go to the human world just for that?
Tumblr media
Also I didn’t notice until someone pointed it out but I guess they’re using Azura and Hecate as some kinda parallel to Luz and Amity. Hope Amity doesn’t find out that she’s not the Azura character. Does that mean that Eda is that old ass lady and King is that little fox dog thing? That’s not cool, man. Be nice.
So much can be read into it, but that’s for another blog post for another time.
Tumblr media
And of course, dumb-dumb me had to wait until the word was said out loud to realize that it was a play on the words “coven” and “convention.” So basically it’s a con episode. Cov episode? Whatever. Big brain hurt.
Tumblr media
Relationships are a give and take and sometimes you gotta give in. Sorry, Eda.
Tumblr media
I don’t know about you guys, but I never really had a lot of fun going to cons. The only part I really liked was meeting my favorite voice actors and watching indie wrestling. All the food, merch, and art was always overpriced and from shows I don’t watch. I don’t join video game tournaments because those people take the games way too seriously. Plus the area that I live in isn’t known for being big on nerd culture so the cons are never that impressive. I met Steve Blum last time and went to one and you can only go down from there so I don’t think I’ll be going to another one any time soon.
Tumblr media
I caught this first time I saw it on TV. Luz and Willow arm in arm. Maybe in another life I would be shipping Luz & Willow. Maybe maybe. Also, Skara in the background. I think her design is really cute. Maybe she’ll get an episode in season two. Maybe maybe.
Tumblr media
More lore and more worldbuilding which people really seemed to want and we got it. Eda explains that while covens seem like cool groups to belong to, they also strip you of all the other kind of magic you can do. Why? My theory was (and is) that about fifty years ago a bunch of religious and political hustlers got together and tried to figure out a way to control people. Really keep them in line. They knew that people were basically stupid and would believe anything you told them, so they announced that this one guy could talk to the titan that the Isles were based of off. This one guys says that only he could talk to the titan and hear what the titan was saying and that only he could do all kinds of magic. Everyone else is doing it wrong and only he’s doing it right. With no proof or evidence, but trust him he’s on the level. The Boiling Isles was just doing fine before him, but now all of a sudden, we’re all doing it wrong. Let that be a lesson to you, kids. If anyone tells you anything like that, it’s bullshit.
Also the nine covens. Why nine? Why not group the bard and illusionary covens together into the music video coven? Why does potions get its own coven? How much school do you really have to take to learn to mix shit together and stir? Wouldn’t the plant magic coven know something about using plants to make potions? Why does the construction coven get it’s own coven? Couldn’t you use any kind of magic to build things? Is the construction coven the blue collar coven? Beast keeping gets it’s own coven? Like the bitch at the plant coven needs to switch covens to be told to feed her dog? My theory, the nine covens was really a marketing decision. Ten sounds too official. They knew that if it was too neat and tidy, they’d know something was up. Would they though? I don’t think so.
Tumblr media
Any group that has their own stormtroopers is automatically evil. Even more proof that the coven system is bullshit.
Tumblr media
“Distraction spell!”
This moment made me laugh so damn hard. The crap that Eda pulls is one of the highlights of the show for me.
Tumblr media
Luz and Eda go check out The Emperor’s Coven panel in the main hall, and we’re introduced to another major character. Enter Lilith, Eda’s older sister. And I swear to you guys, I was so confused this entire time on who was the older and who was the younger sister until the season finale. Seriously, I kept getting mixed messages. I mean, I know now but give me a break here.
I think Lilith is a good character and a great foil to Eda. The fun part is that since they are sisters, Eda knows exactly how to push her buttons and drag Lilith down to her level. It’s always fun to see a stoic character break.
Tumblr media
My finger points.
Amity shows up which automatically makes this episode better. Luz properly introduces herself and we get more back-and-forth. Amity being a real bitch here is more to mislead us for the last act of the episode, but when I first saw it I thought it was more confirmation that Amity was going to be the Draco Malfoy-clone of the series. Glad I was wrong.
We get more of Luz trying to make life play out like her favorite stories and challenges Amity to a witch’s duel. A thing she read in Azura that she has no clue whether or not is a thing in The Boiling Isles. There’s an equal chance that Amity could have just shaken her head and be like, “The fuck is a witch’s duel? That sounds like something you just made up.”
Also Amity should have caught that Azura reference from the start, but then that kinda would have spoiled Lost in Language, huh?
Tumblr media
Again, Luz needs to learn that life does not play out like it does in her favorite stories. Challenging your rival to a duel is cool on paper but a big “Yeah no” IRL. Especially since she knows no real offensive spells, no defensive spells, is a weak nerd who has probably never been in a real fight in her life and has no fighting spirit. Trust me guys I learned the hard way. Life is not a shonen anime. You can’t settle anything by fighting.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I love mentor/mentee stories especially when they have a rival mentor/mentee pair. Too bad Dana has already said that Amity and Lilith were not close at all. It was more a relationship of convenience. But then again that would help witch whole foil angle. Lilith and Amity just use each other to get ahead while Eda and Luz do actually build a familial bond.
The duel goes...exactly the way I thought it would. Honestly. The cheating, the whole fight just breaking down, even Lilith and Eda doing an actual witch’s fight. Totally saw it coming. What I didn’t see coming was the bad ass animation they used for the Lilith/Eda fight and...
Tumblr media
The Amity scene. The big reveal that Amity is not a Draco Malfoy clone (I only saw the first four movies). She’s just a girl who thinks people should follow the rules, hates cheaters and is under a lot of pressure to succeed. Only someone as empathic as Luz and try to keep building that bridge and try to make things right with Amity, but that’s a whole other episode.
.
And the episode ends with another great lesson I really like. “Will I ever be a true witch?” “I don’t know. What’s a true witch?” There are always expectations and pressure put upon you to be a true something. Others will want you to conform into a label for one reason or another. But all those expectations and labels are just illusions. It reminds me of a Bruce Lee quote. When an interviewer asked Bruce if he considers himself Chinese or American, he answers that he considers himself, “a human being.”
Labels can be fun because it makes it easier for the brain to organize things, but when people put too much stock into these labels problems arise. Think of labels as a boat to get you across the river. Once you cross the river you leave the boat behind. You don’t carry the boat with you. That’s just dumb.
Tumblr media
“Witch please”
FINAL SCORE: 5 - Loved it.
Hot take, Amity makes every episode better. More funny jokes, more worldbuilding, more Amity and hints at the main villain of the show. Lilith was a great addition and the episode hints at the main plot. Probably the most fun I’ve ever had at a con. And speaking of more Amity...

i love ushiten so much bc those two are so different but they compliment each other so well. they’re both fuckin nerds in very different ways, they have undying respect and admiration for each other, they’re capable of having both ridiculous nonsensical conversations as well as constructive, serious talks.
ushijima is socially challenged (which is valid, i’m not in any way saying that’s a negative trait) and probably very difficult to get close to but tendou has somehow managed to get past those walls, probably because he’s so persistent and always motivated to prove people wrong. if something seems impossible then you can bet your ass he’s gonna do everything in his power to get it and make everyone else eat their words. and ushijima’s friendship is probably something he had his massive eyeballs set on from the very second he met him. stoic, powerful and mysterious guy who seems to only care about volleyball and nothing else?? tendou says: i don’t buy it, let’s see what’s underneath all that. because tendou is the first person to understand what it looks like to put on a facade, to protect the more vulnerable parts of yourself.
he’s very outgoing and charismatic, but tendou isn’t one to trust easily. underneath all that loud enthusiasm and cheeky humor is a guy who’s been through a lot, who’s probably heard every hurtful name in the book, who’s been shunned by his peers for being different, who’s been told for most of his life that he can’t do the thing he loves in the way he wants to. shiratorizawa was the first place he found acceptance (which is why i will also die on my “washijou is not a bad guy” hill, but that’s a whole other can of worms) and when he found that acceptance from ushijima, that probably really took the wind out of him. cause at first glance, ushijima has it all. from tendou’s pov, ushijima owes him nothing except an occasional call from across the court. but ushijima accepts tendou’s friendship, accepts all the weird parts of him, accepts all the deeper things that make tendou who he is.
and i bet tendou was thrilled (and saddened) to find out that ushijima, too, has always been the odd one out, just in different ways. they’re two outcasts who’s appearances are misleading and have caused them to be treated in certain ways, have caused other people to have preconceived ideas about them before even offering them a ‘hello’.
tendou challenges ushijima to indulge in the more spontaneous parts of life, keeps him on his toes and opens his rigid and routine-driven life to a world of new possibilities and ideas. ushijima keeps tendou grounded, reminds him that, while life can be about having fun, it’s also about working hard and staying motivated. they compliment each other very well!!!!!!
best part is that they’re both idiots (i say this lovingly) and everyone around them is probably like “how did this happen” when they learn how close the two of them are. because at surface level it seems like you couldn’t find two people who have less in common. they’re strange and have such a fun dynamic, i swear i have had some of my hardest laughs just imagining the two of them in various situations. the second-hand embarrassment you can get from thinking of them interacting is amazing. they look so intense and intimidating on the outside, but boy oh boy do they have some of the most wholesome and sweet interactions.
they really are an iconic duo and even as i drift from hq fandom i think i’ll always have this intense love and appreciation for them as a pairing (platonic, romantic, whatever) and separately as characters on their own. and furudate really put the cherry on top by fulfilling the whole “best friends forever” thing, i owe them my life tbh

As a lefty liberal in a conservative Northeast Wisconsin redoubt, I took a far less knee-jerk approach to 9/11 than some of my neighbors. I experienced the pain, horror, and fear of that day like anyone else. Still, my instinct was always to reject half-baked, jingoistic calls for “nation-building” (to resurrect a term George W. Bush had derisively used himself during the 2000 presidential campaign) and for using military action as a first—rather than rarely tapped and last—resort.
The publication I was writing for doesn’t exist anymore (it’s hard to overstate how unpopular antiwar sentiment was back in the early 2000s), and I don’t have any copies of those old, dusty opinion pieces, but I do distinctly recall my conclusion about our foray into the infamous “graveyard of empires.” I wrote something along the lines of “it’s hard to imagine a thriving Western-style democracy coming out of all this.”
Given the cultural and political challenges inherent in creating the kind of free and open “nation” that Bush was then proposing we “build,” it looked, to some extent, like a lost cause from the beginning. An operation to locate and capture Osama bin Laden? Sure, I was on board for that, and as Daily Kos’ Mark Sumner writes in this important retrospective, we had more than one opportunity to nab bin Laden without turning Afghanistan into a perpetual graveyard.
So why were we invading? Good question. Was it because they wanted to run an oil pipeline through the country? Was it to boost the fortunes of military contractors, who would waste no time scurrying up to the money spigot the U.S. government was preparing to put on blast? Or was it simply that our leaders at the time had big, feral war boners for any nation populated by brown-skinned Muslims? Or maybe it was a, b, c, and then some.
Whatever the reason, I smelled a rat. It was similar to my reaction roughly a year and a half later when Bush and his war machine started agitating for an invasion of Iraq while furiously misleading a great nation about Saddam Hussein’s (nonexistent) connections to bin Laden. By that time, I was smelling several rats and maybe a sewer-dwelling capybara or two. Just as the war party had less-destructive options early on in Afghanistan (as Sumner notes, the Bush administration rejected a surrender offer from the Taliban as well as overtures that could have led to the capture of bin Laden himself), the invasion of Iraq seemed, at least to me, completely unnecessary given that the UN had inspectors on the ground in Iraq looking for WMD even as Bush champed at the bit to invade. They were so sure the WMD were there, and they were spectacularly wrong.
Now, with the collapse of the Afghan government, which we spent nearly 20 years propping up with considerable blood and treasure, it’s clear that I—and the vocal minority of antiwar protesters at the time—were right. Bush and his enablers, including many of today’s anti-Biden armchair quarterbacks, such as Sean Hannity and Bill O’Reilly, were disastrously wrong. And, not for nothing, those pro-war cheerleaders cost us plenty in terms of lives, resources, and lost credibility.
There’s a lot that’s galling about conservatives’ reaction to the chaos we’ve seen in Afghanistan over the past several days. First and foremost, this was their hero Donald Trump’s plan all along, only he wanted to leave by Christmas and had established a May 1 deadline for the wholesale removal of our troops. The situation would have likely been worse under a second Trump regime, and even if things had somehow appeared less chaotic (given Trump’s allergy to planning and his affinity for chaos, this seems unlikely), it’s a preposterous fantasy to think the result—a complete Taliban takeover of the country—could have been avoided.

Tumblr media
I assume President Biden received some bad intelligence concerning the Afghan military’s ability and willingness to confront the Taliban (this December 2019 Washington Post story about the clusterfuck that is was the U.S.-trained Afghan army should have given the Pentagon and our intelligence agencies pause, of course), but being the mensch he is, he’s taking full responsibility for this sad, disturbing denouement.
But blaming Biden—who, as Barack Obama’s vice president, wanted to get us out of Afghanistan in 2009—for 20 years of terrible decisions made by others seems a stretch.
Obviously, the pullout has not gone well, and Biden will, and perhaps should, receive criticism for that. But the idea that we were on the verge of turning things around in Afghanistan (like we supposedly were every year for the past 20) is nonsense.
Although I’ve become a big Biden fanboy over the past year, I initially second-guessed his decision to withdraw our troops completely. But if the past week has shown us anything, it’s that the Afghanistan project was always a pipe dream and an illusion. Yesterday, while I thought about the human rights repercussions of Biden’s decision, I felt like I needed a reality check. In his nationally televised speech to the nation, Biden provided it for me:
American troops cannot and should not be fighting in a war and dying in a war that Afghan forces are not willing to fight for themselves. We spent over a trillion dollars. We trained and equipped an Afghan military force of some 300,000 strong — incredibly well equipped — a force larger in size than the militaries of many of our NATO allies. We gave them every tool they could need. We paid their salaries, provided for the maintenance of their air force — something the Taliban doesn’t have. Taliban does not have an air force.  We provided close air support. We gave them every chance to determine their own future. What we could not provide them was the will to fight for that future.
I don’t have children, but I do have nieces and nephews, and I can’t imagine encouraging them to risk their lives and limbs for a mission that is and always was vaporware. Nor would I lay down my own life for such a venture. So how could I quibble with a commander in chief’s decision to prevent other Americans’ kids from dying or being maimed in a lost cause?
I couldn’t, and Joe Biden, whose own son may have died because of his deployment to Iraq, couldn’t either.
It was the same reason I couldn’t justify the invasion of Afghanistan 20 years ago and why our Iraq adventure seemed particularly noxious. Old men with no stake in these wars other than their own reputations and political fortunes were making life-and-death decisions on poor and middle-class kids’ behalf.
Anti-war activists were right then, and we’re right now. And no amount of Biden-bashing from the warmongers on the right will ever change that.
As satisfying as it might be to say “I told you so,” what we and the sometime doves in the GOP really need to say is “never again.” Biden deserves ample credit for finally getting us out of George W. Bush’s mess, and his hypocritical right-wing critics need to finally and forever STFU.
It made comedian Sarah Silverman say, “THIS IS FUCKING BRILLIANT,” and prompted author Stephen King to shout “Pulitzer Prize!!!” (on Twitter, that is). What is it? The viral letter that launched four hilarious Trump-trolling books. Get them all, including the finale, Goodbye, Asshat: 101 Farewell Letters to Donald Trump, at this link. Just $12.96 for the pack of 4! Or, if you prefer a test drive, you can download the epilogue to Goodbye, Asshat for the low, low price of FREE.

There’s a high disappointment in Inazuma’s story because everything feels like too much of a mess where they’re just trying to mash up a bunch of completely different stories all into one and failed terribly.
The trailers and story teasers always seem amazing and make you get that excited rush from how well they’re done, but then the actual story comes out and all of that just falls apart.
There were bits and pieces speaking of Signora’s death in the npcs lines, but other than that you really would expect more since it is the death of a fatui harbinger by the blade of a god. We got nothing about how the exact aftermath turned out, but only small bits here and there which really doesn’t do it.
Kokomi was said to have high intelligence and was a very strategic person, yet they messed with the entire story to the point where nothing made sense anymore.
In conclusion, Inazuma’s writing sucked. I understand that the different stories are usually written by different people so matching them all up entirely can be quite challenging, but Inazuma’s story was seriously just too much of a mess. With how the story took a turn from a more peaceful solving of Mond and Liyue to Inazuma’s story where we had to face against a god, you’d have expected more than whatever that was. It was truly disappointing and I honestly do hope that whatever comes next will have a different impact from that of the past.
Yeah long ramblings- though it’s nice to see you doing well ∩^ω^∩
- 🔒
Ahh my lock is growing up sending in such long rambles. Clues in my name, I’m a fan of this stuff hehe.
But I absolutely agree. A complete mess with no real direction, the good ideas being drowned out by the rushed and messy writing. Don’t even get me started on the whole dead sister thing, it was an okay idea but the way they went about was just,,,, no.
But what you mentioned about the trailers is so true !! That Scara reveal? God tier. Him in the game? Eh,,, nice to see him but he was just kind of shoved in there. I love Scara, I do, but what was his purpose there other than to feed us exposition like a stereotypical super villain? But in the trailer he looked… hhhhhh… yeah. And I was so worried for Kazuha. (Why is it in every trailer he’s fighting something- honey no please you’re one of the calmest characters out there) but in the end it’s all very misleading and it’s unfortunate.
However, I think we do have hope. Albedo’s event n Shenhe’s story n actually, Itto’s too, are drastic improvements. The writing has clearly improved since these three have stuck out to be a lot better than what we got. Hopefully with the upcoming patch, it’ll fix some of the things that came along with Inazuma’s writing. Aaaand Enkanomiya is shaping up to be very interesting indeed, there’s so much lore behind it that I haven’t had time to read up on but it’s incredibly interesting.
So, I have hope, and I hope the writing never gets as bad as that Inazuma arc because,,, well, it was just embarrassing, to put it lightly.

Chasing The Sun
Tumblr media
Summary: The story of how you fell in love with the Devil King’s right hand, Hideyoshi Toyotomi. Tags: Canon-Divergent, Fluff.  *Matchup written for the lovely @kamesama , I hope you enjoy your love story with your suitor.
How on Earth were you able to just sit like that in front of the Devil King? What in the name of the seven heavens and eight hells were you thinking, sitting with your arms crossed and a nonchalant look on your face before the man who was on the quest of ruling all of Japan?
Not only did you suddenly appear in Azuchi, creating a ruckus in the gardens of Lord Nobunaga’s castle, looking for what you called “a cellphone” and “a police station” but you were also giving these grown men a piece of your mind while they looked at you incredulously.
You obviously thought that you were in some sort of play or the universe was pulling some prank on you. Was there something even called time travel?
After taking in your surroundings, everyone was speaking in Japanese and you were somehow able to understand them and speak the language too. Not perfectly, but enough to get by and find yourself before the man that all of Japan feared the most.
Was this a curse or blessing? You looked around you to find the most heartachingly handsome men that were apparently warlords and they were sitting around you in what they called the Council Room. They were:
Bewildered by what you had to say. So… after much explanation from your end and getting some clarity from the panicked Hideyoshi who had been rambling to his Lord (and dropping lots of hints that helped you get to the conclusion of where and when you were), you claim to be from the future?
Either utterly amused or baffled by your behaviour and demeanour before their Lord.
Nobu’s crimson eyes were locked on you with a faint smirk drawn on his lips, Hideyoshi was obviously mortified and had been silenced by a simple “enough” from his Lord, Mitsuhide was snickering joined by Masamune who was trying to muffle his chuckles and Ieyasu rolling his eyes at them for acting like young boys. Mitsunari though? The angel was looking at you like a cat with big wide curious eyes that just wanted to know (play) with you.
The most impressive thing about the whole situation: you were so composed when facing someone with a commanding presence, not even flinching under his studious and heavy gaze. Nobu couldn’t help but be impressed and thought that you would be entertaining to keep by his side.Same shit, different day when it comes to the Devil King. If something entertained him, he would keep it around until he deemed it of no use to him (or that’s what you would think).
Seeing how unfazed you are and how you met him with a passive gaze that challenged something within him. Nobunaga decided to make a bet with you: become a Sengoku woman within less than a month and he will help you find a way home and back to your time. If you didn’t, then you would have to stay in the Sengoku Era and wed him.
First thought: What the actual….
Second thought: This man did have the power to do something like that. Thinking over your non-existing options, you would just have to agree.
Who would even want to marry a man like him? Nothing about him but his appearance was alluring to you in that moment, even though something inside did tell you that he would be more than able to show you a good time but you just pushed that thought to the back of your mind.
The golden-haired annoying beauty, Hideyoshi dared to open his mouth to protest… and being the mischievous Devil King that he was, Nobu put Hide in charge of you and you were officially under his patronage, tutelage or whatever you wanted to call it but from what you’ve seen, you definitely thought that the Sengoku Era was not for you… and most probably, a big nightmare that you were just waiting to wake up from.
While Hideyoshi and even you wanted to protest (yet again), the man called an end to the meeting and winked at you, wishing you good luck.
You weren’t going to be able to become a Sengoku woman, nor were you interested in becoming one, to be completely honest, but you needed a guide. But... Why… Why did it have to be him?
Living in a mansion with a man as fussy as him was going to be a huge headache. By the way he acted, he seemed to possibly be a clean-freak and the super organized micromanager type about everything in his life. But when you arrived at his mansion, you were surprised to be greeted by a swarm of smiles and simply… so much feel-good vibes.
It was hard to pinpoint it but there was this aura that surrounded the warlord, or more like, the ambience would change when he was around. You noticed it even when you followed him through the streets of Azuchi while on the way to his mansion. However, it was still your first day in Azuchi, you would have more time to figure things out later after you’ve had some much needed sleep.
He had the maids prepare the second largest room in his castle, with a hot bath and almost a dozen of kimonos, yukatas of all colours for you to choose from. You didn’t need all of this, anything would do but someone was going over and above… For someone who was so reluctant to have you stay with him and was awfully disgruntled about the prospect of you marrying his Lord, you did not expect to have such a warm welcome into what would become your new home.
In order to get things on track and yeet you out of the Sengoku Era as soon as possible, you woke up to the soft knock on your door and the sound of a man clearing his throat. Not only were you greeted by the sight of the gorgeous man entering your room with the rays of sunlight shining through your window making his hair look like actual tresses of gold and his bright smile, making you feel a weird fuzzy feeling in your chest as he set your breakfast tray before you. What did you deserve to be spoiled like this? It honestly felt like you had woken up in a reverse-harem maid cafe that was actually a bed and breakfast hotel?
Your thoughts completely mislead you. Hideyoshi was taking you through a schedule that he had prepared for you in order to get you accustomed to the current times and its needs. It was a rotation where you spent a day with one warlord every day, acquiring whatever knowledge you could from all of them. Medicine with Ieyasu, History with Mitsunari, Culinary Arts with Masamune, Japanese Language and Art of Dance with Mitsuhide, Horse-back riding with Nobunaga. Etiquette with Hideyoshi.
Cue: your first fight. You butted heads and made his life a living hell. As peaceful and respectful as he tried to be during your discussion with him, you argued with him until he lost his breath and his face turned a bright shade of red (that was surprisingly adorable but you didn’t really care for that in that moment) because you wouldn’t let him dictate things for you. It was YOUR way or no way at all. Nobody else had the right to manage your time for you. That was up to you and you alone and you wouldn’t let some beautiful man change that. He had to concede… not for you, but for his own sanity and for Nobu’s sake. That’s what he told himself at least, but you had the first win. The first to many more to come.
After sorting that out, Hideyoshi took it upon himself to take you on a tour around Azuchi, showing you all the best places to get whatever you needed, even introducing you to every single merchant and townsperson wherever you want. How did he even remember the name of all of these people?
He was… the town’s busybody? No. You could not even find the best word to describe how he was because there were way too many words that you could use, but not one of them would be enough. Anyway, let’s get your thoughts back on track. Not only do all the women, young and old, fawn over him but he was so well-loved because of his good deeds.
His objective was only to show you around before conducting your first lesson with him for the day but you were saved by an old lady that owned a cute little teashop who happened to ask him for help. That was weird. How could someone ask something so menial of a warlord?
Upon pulling both you and him by the hand inside her shop, she went on and on about how she loved his company as he reminded her of her son that she had lost in a war. There was this look in the warlord’s eye that didn’t go unnoticed but you just put a mental note on it. It seemed like Hideyoshi felt indebted to her somehow? And you! Well, you were so warm and nice to the teahouse owner that she took a liking to you and began spoiling you with every type of dango and sweet that her teahouse and Azuchi had to offer.
Four words: Sugar overload + sugar rush.
While you were chatting with the teahouse owner, Hideyoshi had been gently giving you instructions on how to sit, how to eat, how to hold different utensils and what gestures to use when people say certain things. He included all these comments so smoothly in the discussion that by the time you were done eating, your lesson had ended. As Hideyoshi announced that, telling you that “you did very well, all the treats you ate were well-deserved”, he gave you a bright smile and winked at you, which totally, totally did nothing to your heart.
He suggested to the teahouse owner if you could fill in, in his place, since you got along pretty well together and the old lady was almost ecstatic, taking you in her arms out of impulse and thanking you for agreeing to help her. Looks like you had no choice.
For a brief moment, Hideyoshi just stared at you before bursting into jolly laughter. You looked like a child so high on sugar, you were basically radiating energy and there was a spring in your step that you didn’t even have before. He took you by the hand and began running, looking back at you and shouting “Faster!! Time is of the essence. We’re going to chase the sun!” What he was saying made absolutely no sense but you found yourself giggling under your breath, running beside him until you reached the stables, he jumped on his steed and pulled you behind him. “Hold me as tight as you can. Don’t worry, I’m not fragile.” he joked as he clicked his tongue and you flew with the wind, beyond the bounds of Azuchi.
You smiled and looked up at the sky, letting the breeze tickle your skin and your hair flying around you. As you inhaled deeply, you couldn’t help but rejoice in the smell of fresh air and sandalwood… Hideyoshi. So rich and sweet, it made you dreamily sigh without even realizing. When you suddenly came to a stop, Hideyoshi’s warm voice reached your ears and pulled you out of your daydream. He was showing you the sunset as it fell behind Azuchi castle, the colours of dusk blending with the fading flames of the sun that shines over the town that would become your home.
As you were slowly coming down from your high and before you fell asleep on the warlord’s shoulder, you made him promise you to show you the sunrise and he gladly agreed to do so.
The next few days were quite busy for you. Following the schedule that you had set for yourself, you visited the teahouse of the old lady before your classes with “the warlord of the day”, as you called it. you went to help around the old lady, as Hideyoshi had promised on your behalf and began to understand him more, know even more about him without even having to ask any questions. You were also able to reach your own conclusions, after heaps of townspeople swarmed the old lady’s humble teahouse, talking about their different encounters with the Devil King’s right-hand man.
The old lady loved him so much, saw so much in him and was so willing to gush about him as if he were her own son. He was charming…. Incredibly and unbelievably so. Just a simple glance at him and people were beaming at him. He came from the lower class, but you had no idea. He had this humility in his smile even though the way he held himself was graceful and his tone, the words that so eloquently spilled out of those lips of his would never indicate that he grew up as anything other than a nobleman (which made you like him even more).
By the end of the week, the teahouse owner no longer was in need of your services since her daughter, who had been sick, was feeling all better and ready to help around. (Hideyoshi didn’t even tell you but your experience in the teahouse was part of your on-ground training and he didn’t even need to give you more lessons, yet he chose to so he could spend more time with you)
After your first round of so-called lessons with all the warlords, Nobunaga held a banquet in your honour, his own questionable way of formalizing the bet and challenge between you. You weren’t entirely sure whether he was mocking you, testing you or just playing mind games with you but that didn’t stop you from having your own fun. As everyone drank themselves into oblivion and upon discovering that you did not indulge in any type of liquid courage, Masamune had dedicated his night to stuffing your mouth with all the delicacies imaginable, sweet, sour, savoury and even bittersweet. The man was a masterchef genius (that Gordon Ramsay would definitely envy and admire but that’s a discussion for another time/day) and didn’t even mind.
In the corner of the room, your eyes reluctantly yet instinctively crawled to cast a quick look on Hideyoshi. A quick glance wouldn’t be enough to appreciate the sight before your eyes. The Adonis of Azuchi was seated languidly like a beautiful courtesan, intoxicated as she nursed her sake while prattling to others in a banquet. His emerald kimono slid down one shoulder, along with his white haori, slowly and teasingly exposing more of his bare skin,  his chest was almost fully on display, his lips glistening with remnants of sake as the inebriant seeped and coursed in his veins. This was an image that you would have trouble getting out of your head, not that you wanted to. He was utterly breathtaking, the way his lashes fluttered over his cheeks, his eyes slowly falling shut then opening lazily as he fought to stay awake.
Whenever one of his retainers came to take him back to his castle, he moaned and refused to let anyone touch him except for you. All the warlords began chuckling as Hideyoshi gladly let you embrace him in your arms, holding him up with the help of his retainers as he mumbled about sweet nothings that made your heart flutter. “Your hair looks so silky and beautiful, Kame… Would you ever let me touch it or maybe even brush it for you? You smell exquisite, not even the cherry blossoms of Kyoto could rival how sweet your scent is…” His face was dusted in pink from the sake but yours turned red for different reasons. You couldn’t wait to plop him down in his room and get away from him. You could no longer feel your face with him being around you.
As the days went by, you found yourself growing more accustomed to your routine and starting to actually like your life in Azuchi. Yeah, there probably wasn’t any technology around but you still managed to occupy yourself most of the time. Thanks to the fussy warlord who spouted so much nonsense when he was drunk.
One night, he was out drinking with the other warlords after a Council Meeting. You had absolutely no idea what it was about but it seemed like things were stirring up in a nearby area and action would have to be taken soon. That was none of your business so you spent the writing while staring up at the moon, the silver light invading your room as you wallowed in the dark pits of your mind.
Tumblr media
As he came back from his night out, he tried to sneak, not too sneakily into your room. As he stood before your sliding door, he could hear your muffled sniffles and cries. Acting completely on impulse, Hideyoshi slid the door open, rushing to you, the fear of anything bad befalling you crushing his heart. As he kneeled before you, your cheeks were tinted in a deep shade of red, your eyes puffy as you sobbed helpless. In his drunken state, his eyes darted everywhere to check if you could possibly be injured, but there was no sign of anything.
Even as you protested meekly, Hideyoshi pulled you into his arms, holding your waist tightly and one of his arms around your shoulder, keeping you safe and secure in his embrace, letting your tears dampen his kimono while he caressed your hair softly with one hand, and the other rubbing soothing circles on the small of your back.
“It’s okay if you do not want to tell me what is on your mind. But do you mind if I say a few things myself? Yes? Okay, good. Well… I wanted to let you know that I’m happy that it was you that came from the future and not another young man or woman. I am pleased that a bright woman such as yourself made her way back through time to be with me… I mean with us, in Azuchi. You’re talented and you learn things quickly… only when you put your mind to it, obviously.” That earns a small laugh from both of you. “But I want you to promise me something. Please. If you ever feel like this again, and you wouldn’t mind me being around you… Call for me. Light a candle and place it in front of your door and I’ll be here with you in a heartbeat.”
Whenever you did light a candle, he came through with his promise. He only spoke if you wanted him to, he listened to your rambling, wiping the tears trickling down your cheeks and kissing your temples whenever he felt the need to say something but held himself back. He didn’t like to see you say such self-depreciative things but he wanted to let you know, through his actions, that he was prepared to shoulder all your burdens with you and wash away all those insecurities, if you would let him, showering with words of comfort that were only based on true facts and hints of how he truly felt about you.
After that night, he never lets himself drink and be around you when he does. Especially after sneaking into your room, he wasn’t sure what he was capable of or what he would do in an intoxicated state. He made it a rule and let all the warlords know that if he’s drinking, he’s staying with one of them.
He would scold you for staying up so late at night but he secretly liked to see you actually enjoying yourself. He would sometimes invite himself in your room and ask you about the things that you drew and what you enjoyed writing, his eyes narrowing with avid interest and curiosity to learn more about your time. He knew the right questions to ask you in order to unlock the “rambling” button in you and the warlord would be so pleased to be able to get you to speak to him so openly, looking so animated with excitement brimming from your voice. At that point, he no longer exuded this air of distrust, especially after seeing that you truly knew nothing about the Sengoku Era.
He often ended up falling asleep while hanging with you. It was easy to find yourself admiring his masculine beauty. His expression was so soft and vulnerable, without the usual crease between his brows caused by his constant micromanaging. His schedule was crazy busy but he still managed to find the time to hangout with you, pick you up and drop you off from each lesson of the day. It only made sense that he would be so exhausted. If he didn’t take good care of himself, you would at least try to do so, repay him for his kindness but also, try to make his life easier. Somehow.
During one of your late-night chats, you both got pretty hungry and decided to treat yourself to something. What exactly? Well… messing around the kitchen with Hideyoshi was so much fun but neither of you were good enough cooks to make anything that could be more than just… edible. Masamune would have a heart-attack if he saw what you were doing but thanking the heavens, he wasn’t around. Hideyoshi got intimately acquainted with your peculiar taste in food on that fateful night, blinking through tears as he tried to eat the odd creation that you had both made. At first, he thought he would be appalled but after a few bites taken out of courtesy to you,  he actually started to like it. Thus, the beginning of “Kame and Yoshi” late-night cook-offs to come.
The more you got used to each other, the more you teased one another. You weren’t entirely sure if you should call him “Hide” or “Yoshi” but you noticed how he would get boyishly flustered when you called him “Yoshi”, it just stuck and became your thing. It wasn’t necessarily a nickname given out of affection (or that was what you told yourself) but more of an expression of a blooming friendship. On another hand, he absolutely loved trying to find ways to make you blush, your cheeks reminding him of apples and, truth be told: he wanted to playfully bite them so much.
One day, you completely lost your shit on Hideyoshi for asking the maids to arrange your room since it was a complete mess. Little did you know, Hideyoshi had informed them maids to clean the entire castle spotless, but admittedly forgot to tell them to stay away from yours, fully knowing how you did not like anyone touching your things. He didn’t say anything to defend himself, standing completely silent and absorbing the frustration that radiated from you with the grace that he was known for. You refused to talk to him after that or even look at him. It was an invasion of your privacy and Hideyoshi believed that you had all the right to feel the way you did.
Wanting to be as far away from his castle as possible, you hiked your way up a hill to find some peace in the loneliness that nature had to offer. You spent a few hours just drawing/writing, letting off some of the pent up steam. It was much needed since you were able to clear your thoughts while breathing some fresh air. Looking at the broad horizons before you, you couldn’t help but think of the light brunet who made you feel so frustrated yet did everything possible to make you happy. Something in the back of your mind told you that it was all because he wanted you out of Azuchi and this era. But you were gravely mistaken.
Relying on your non-Sengoku era street-smart ability was not the wisest move. You had no idea where you were even though your surroundings were very familiar. After going in circles for what seemed like hours (40 minutes), you did manage to find your way back to Azuchi just in the nick of time! Being true to yourself, you know you had a lesson with the Devil King for some horse-back riding, still wondering why he even bothered spending time with you.
Who was the one waiting for you at the stables? None other than the handsome man that you were avoiding. His head was lowered in apology and he begged you to let him make it up to you. And he did, big time! You rode to a nearby village that was around 45 minutes away and they were holding a festival! There were fireworks, food stands and game booths and you ate almost everything that caught your eye, competitively played against Yoshi in most games before you saw the light of dawn appear. Have you been out for so long? Your pleasant outing ended yet again, with another chase of the sun.
You didn’t necessarily apologize for your behaviour the next day but he heard the maids whispering about you spending all night trying to make food, stuff that they didn’t even understand and his heart did melt at the thought. You were fussy about it and not having the same materials of the future, making the process much harder for you. Your go-to place to relax was on the top of that same hill where you had been sulking. He obviously tried to look for you and found you there, just watching the sunset. He smiled softly at you and you raised a brow at him with an unspoken “what’s up with you? what do you want?” But he said nothing, just sitting by your side, enjoying just being near. And you did the same.
The more time, you go out to the city where he is supposed to be spending time with you, you get a bit flustered as to how every single person in town is trying to steal his attention from you. Various scenarios would occur but you would mainly stop even following him and go your separate way. Why did you even do that when the voice in your head told you that you wanted to be near him? (smh) Being the gentleman that he is, he’ll come find you and hold your hand, frowning at you. “What do you think you’re doing? If you’re planning on running away from me, then I guess I’ll have to find a way to keep you by my side.” He squeezed your hand, the top of his cheekbones blushing slightly as he pulled you closer to him, whisking your way through the alleys to wherever the sun would take you.
Being so close to him... felt natural.
One night before Hideyoshi had to travel, under Nobu’s orders, you and the warlord rode your steeds to a nearby river where you had a small picnic and spent the night stargazing. As you rambled on and on about what you knew of the stars and constellations, he gently pressed a finger to your lips. “I’m going to Kyoto at dawn. Things might get bad but I’m going to make sure that everything will be under control. I don’t want you to worry. Just wait for me and… as long as you are, I’ll be okay. Now.. Please... no word of this. Tell me more…”
His voice sounded as empty and lonely as you felt when he was away. Only 2 days had passed and you felt like something was missing. You went on with your day as if nothing was different yet the stinging feeling in your heart told you otherwise. Who were you lying to?
6 days later: He was finally coming home!!
You didn’t even realize that you laughed as a few tears fell the moment you saw Hideyoshi when he came back from whatever skirmish he was dealing with. Cuts, bruises and bandages everywhere. He even needed a few soldiers to carry him since he could barely move on his own! The words escaped your mouth without even knowing before you turned your back on him and rushed to the castle to prepare his room for him.
You said something along the lines of (it was all so blurry so you weren’t even sure anymore): “Are you dense? I literally just had to hear about what you’ve done and that’s absolutely not acceptable. You’re always keeping your eyes on me and you don’t think you owe me just a small heads-up about your own buffoonery?”
You glared at Nobunaga and basically hissed at him. “This is all your fault. I was going to lose him because of you!”(little did you know, your small outburst made Nobunaga happy, especially after seeing the look on his right hand’s face.)
When he finally settled in and was laying on his futon, you kneeled beside him and brushed his hair away from his face, locking your eyes with his golden ones, a serious and intense look painted over your features.
You: You look like shit, Yoshi. I knew you were going to do some reckless shit. I was hoping you’d prove me wrong but here you are.
Hideyoshi: Watch that mouth, young lady.
You: You think you’re in a position to chastise me, Yoshi? You stopped giving me lessons days ago.
Hideyoshi: That doesn’t mean that you’ve learned your lesson, Kame.
You: Those are big words for a man that can barely lift himself off his futon. So much for promising to go chase the sun when you got back.
Hideyoshi: Hngh… I feel bad enough about that. I’ll make it up to you but please, do not tease me.
You: Mhm… what are you going to do if I don’t, Yoshi?
Hideyoshi: I did have something in mind… Come here.
Gently cradling the side of your face with one hand, his thumb softly rubbed over your rosy cheek as he groaned while lifting himself from the futon, a soft smile gracing his lips as you met him halfway in a tender kiss, filled with so much love and reverence. As you broke the kiss and tried to look away, he snaked his hand to your nape, threading his fingers through your hair and pulling you back to him as his back hit the floor, joyful sighs filling the silence of his room as you both finally allowed the love between you to flow freely.
Tumblr media
Hideyoshi can get so uptight about things, nobody even bothers to question him because he’s a stubborn mother hen and once he puts his mind to something there is no changing his mind. Except when it came to you, so the other warlords would often try to get their way with things by attempting to use you against your lover. Unfortunately for them, you were a mischievous minx and instead of helping them, you made things worse by making it known to Hideyoshi, in one way or another what their true intentions were. Masamune loved you for your playful nature and Mitsuhide thought that your skills could be put to better use (don’t tell Hideyoshi or he’ll literally lose his mind).
He will say “I love you” as many times as he needs to for you to believe him. He’s the type of man that would say it in the morning and before going to sleep, even if you were having an argument, he always wanted you to remember that he did. Considering that he could die in the battlefield any day, he wanted to make sure that he had absolutely no regrets when it came to you. He would express his love to you in his gestures, with his actions and wait patiently for you to say the same to him, only when you want. He feels it in the way you tease him, the way you touch him.
His kisses are usually tender and soft like a light summer breeze eliciting the faintest shivers in your body. He usually would cradle your face and trace your cheeks or the column of your neck, a pleasant tingling sensation tickling your skin as he poured all his devotion for you in the soft whispers of his lips against yours. When things tend to get a bit more heated between you, he lets his hands roam to hold the small of your back and press your against him, his tongue licking between your lips, coaxing you to open up for him (always the gentleman, he needs to get some sort of permission from you before doing anything, out of fear of overstepping or upsetting you).
He would often pray to the heavens that you’re tall enough so that he doesn’t have to lean too much to meet your lips. His other hand would either be at your nape or the back of your head, fingers through your hair, the heat of passion taking over him and the taste of you is so irresistible, he doesn’t want to give you the chance to break the kiss.
He didn’t even blink an eye when you both sat before the Devil King to tell him that your challenge was off. Whether you won or lost, it didn’t really matter. Hideyoshi was the only man you could ever be with and the prospect of even possibly marrying another was not acceptable. Not for you or for Hideyoshi. Nobunaga simply stared at the both of you, seeing how Yoshi sat there, unwavering before his Lord, unaffected by the possible severity of the situation if things were to go south.
He respects your time and your own space, fully trusting you now that you were knowledgeable enough to know the do and don'ts of the Sengoku Era. He just urges you,.. no, begs you not to stay out late at night unless he, the warlords or any of his retainers are with you. Azuchi was a safe city but there were still ruffians lurking in the night. He didn’t want to take a chance when it came to you.
He gets way too flustered at any public display of affection but he’s a man that gets easily jealous so he likes to make sure that everyone knows that you’re taken. He would usually just walk around while holding your hand, linking your fingers together or with an arm around your shoulders, kissing your temple or your crown.
He loves sporting the love bites you’ve marked on his skin and doesn’t even try to hide them, even if you both get teased about them, your lover just beaming with happiness and pride. Whenever he feels like your hands are too cold, he would pull you into a bear hug and let you wrap your arm around his waist, under his kimono, so that his body heat and the fabric could help you warm up a bit better.
If you ever thought of pressing a kiss to his neck (which you’ve obviously done before), your lover would chew on his lip out of embarrassment while his cheeks turned into cherry tomatoes. He would obviously try to mask his shyness with a mock angry tone as he calls your name in admonishment. Looking into your eyes, he saw that glint of mirth in you and that beautiful smirk that he would very gladly wipe off once you returned to the castle.
Little gestures he does to express his affection for you and things he loves: he loves brushing your hair and smelling it, he loves biting your cheek playfully whenever you blush. Whenever you’re chilling with him and he starts teasing you, you bite him and he chuckles. He actually loves it when you do.
He absolutely loves sleeping next to you. Period. But especially having you koala-cuddle him because he’s your human heater. Knowing how cold you are by nature, he asked you to light a candle to place it in front of your door (just like when you are feeling down), so that you can both cuddle and sleep together. He doesn’t like to be intrusive and invite himself into your bed, although he does, on occasion because a relationship goes both ways and it would be wrong just to rely on you to initiate things. The most important thing was consent. As long as he had that, nothing else mattered.
Oh boy, if he wakes up with morning wood, Yoshi gets flustered as hell, especially if you’re awake. He’d excuse himself with the most boyish and embarrassed chuckle and rush out of your room or to his bathroom (depending on where you were both sleeping). If you were lucky enough to be in his room, you would hear a symphony of unadulterated moans and muffled grunts that only made you wonder what the future held for you when you became even more intimate with one another.
Sometimes, when you’re lying beneath him, and let him shower you with kisses and love bites, he worships you as he is completely devoted to you, whispers against your skin, over and over again.
“I want to make you mine, I want you to be mine, I want to claim you and let everyone know that you have chosen me to be your lover, to be your partner, to be the one you share everything with. As much as I would’ve hated to admit it before, I don’t feel an ounce of remorse for what I have discovered in you. I love you… You are my everything and nobody could ever change that. Whether you decide to stay in Azuchi or return to your time…  I’ll always be with you. Take me with you.”

Anon asks: SCK Fragman 38 speculation
(Asks under the cut)
Anonymous said: Do you think they're getting married this next episode? idk if the tattoos were confirmation
I think it’s possible? But I also think it’s entirely possible that they get the tattoos as a symbol of their love and a promise of sorts that they are through messing around, but they’re not actually married yet.  Frankly, they already gave us all the wedding hoopla with these two, I’m absolutely fine with an elopement or quick courthouse style wedding, or just a couple of witnesses in a garden. Whatever they want! Let’s just get her done.
Also... I know I said it before, but I’m just in love with the idea of these tattoos. Such a great solution to their ring issue.
Anonymous said: Thoughts on all these twitter theories from the “sick” line in the fragman?
- it’s about piril and engins kid bc basak and anil filmed in the hospital, and piril was hit by a car in 36 and in 37 she had that moment where she clutched her abdomen and had to sit down
- it’s a flashback serkan has to when his brother alp was sick
- serkan is sick and it’s a way to reveal Kemal as his bio dad (blood or organ donation)
- serkan is sick and it’s a way to reveal eda is pregnant when they draw blood from her to donate
That fragman could be hinting at so many things, and it very well could have been misleading. So lets take each theory in turn.
“it’s about piril and engins kid bc basak and anil filmed in the hospital, and piril was hit by a car in 36 and in 37 she had that moment where she clutched her abdomen and had to sit down”
Very possible. Engin thinking something had happened to Piril two eps ago did feel like foreshadowing, almost preparing the audience for something. It would be so heartbreaking if she loses the baby, and seems too dark for this show, but it is something that happens to millions of women, so we’ll see.
Also can you imagine after the way Piril stuck by Selin, if Piril lost her baby, and she then witnesses Selin using her baby as a pawn to get revenge on Serkan and Eda?  I’d like to see Piril and Engin’s reaction to that. Though again I think that’s pretty dark, especially for the side couple.
- it’s a flashback serkan has to when his brother alp was sick
I think this is a very good guess. Serkan probably will see a doctor after he passed out, and if it is another panic attack brought on by the stress of losing Eda, I could see a doctor telling him if he wants to move past the panic attacks, he needs to get at the root of his abandonment issues, which all lead back to his brother’s death. That could be why he’s getting out a box of his things and reading that letter.  So I could very well see a flashback happening to Alp’s diagnosis.
- serkan is sick and it’s a way to reveal Kemal as his bio dad (blood or organ donation)
I’m honestly fully onboard with Kemal as Serkan’s bio dad.  I hear a lot of people poopooing the idea because of opportunity, but I think they told us when it could have happened. In their first meeting, (unless my subs were bad) Aydan mentioned that Kemal had returned once to apologize for standing her up when they were young and going to run away together. I assume that was the window. Kemal showed up years later (after Alp was born) to apologize.. they had a fling and there’s the opportunity for Serkan to be his son.
Though, to me, if they’re doing something with Serkan’s health it’s got to be related to the plane crash. The chest clutching since he’s been back is concerning, plus wasn’t his hand shaking at one point? So I don’t see him having some serious underlying issue that’s unrelated. This guy does not shy away from going to the doctor and was just in the hospital for probably over a month recovering, so you’d think if there was anything wrong before, we’d know it.  Unless the plane crash acerbated something that’s genetic? And/or requires a match like bone marrow or kidney. I suppose they could give Serkan some rare blood type and that would be something applicable to most any ailment. We shall see.
- serkan is sick and it’s a way to reveal eda is pregnant when they draw blood from her to donate
This one I think is the least likely. It’s been very fuzzy how much time has passed, but at the minimum 3 months since they were supposed to get married and were having sex, so if Eda were pregnant I think she would have noticed the signs by now.
Anonymous said: Liza, I know they won’t kill Serkan, but could you reassure me that they won’t? I’ve followed you since Once and you were always good at reassuring.
Ha! I remember making lists of all the reasons they would never kill Hook.
THEY WON’T KILL SERKAN.
And I’m even more certain of this than I ever was of them not killing Hook, and I was damn certain then.
There is literally not ONE reason for this show to exist without Eda and Serkan. Not one. This is their love story, and really, storyline wise, the show should have ended awhile ago, and the only reason they keep it going is to keep Hande and Kerem on screen together, making their magic. Seriously, that’s the only reason.
You see how Serkan dying would be counter to that, right?  And if the show were about to end, trust me, there is nothing in it for anyone to have a tragic ending. This started as a romantic comedy, and will end as one, with a happily ever after. And if you’re still nervous, trust this, the production company is still hopeful to sell it into even more foreign markets, especially English language ones, a surprise tragic, twist ending that gets vilified on social media (and trust me this fandom is huge, vocal and capable) would really hurt those chances.
So even if we’re headed into a bad diagnosis for Serkan, he will be fine in the end, it will just be something for him and Eda to fight through. I promise.
Anonymous said: thoughts on that wonderfully beautiful fragman? i was watching with hearts in my eyes and then read the translations.. poor serkan!! if it really isn't misleading i definitely think it's some consequence of the plane crash. but, we are secure in what kind of show this is and the full knowledge that it's not a drama and no one is gonna actually die, i'm excited for the potential this storyline is gonna give us!! (esp with the return of the old writers)
I can’t wait to see that rain scene, and the after-the-rain scene and their motorcycle ride. The fragman was very beautiful, but it also felt very poignant and a little melancholy.
It’s interesting with the announcement that the second writing team was back, there were tidbits from several legit entertainment-type reporters yesterday that the show was going back to it’s roots being funny and entertaining.  So a terrible diagnosis for one of the current characters, especially the romantic leading man, doesn’t really fit with that.
It the writers hadn’t changed I’d be more concerned, not about a character dying, just about the show leaning into some big sort of health-related melodrama.  But I think whatever might be happening will be in service to the plot.  As far as Serkan having a health-scare related to the crash, as I said above it’s very plausible. I mean what are the chances that a man survives a plane crash, is fished out of the sea, spends weeks in a hospital, gets amnesia and is perfectly fine 3-4 months later with no other repercussion? Doesn’t seem possible!
Anonymous said: Liza, the second set of writers is really coming back! We might actually get comeuppance for Selin!
YESS!!!!! Please. I had completely lost hope with the last set of writers who seemed hellbent on normalizing her behavior.  Look I’d be fine with a 3 minute conversation where Serkan tells her that he knows she’s a manipulative liar and the baby is not his, that he wants her out of their lives for good, and that if she ever comes near Eda ever again he will personally destroy her.
Is that so much to ask?
Though I’d like her to be humiliated in front of the rest of the team. Just so everyone knows what kind of psycho she is and no one in Edser’s orbit is tempted to give her another chance ever again.
It will be interesting to see how this plays out.  With the news that Sarp Can (Deniz) is COVID positive, he obviously won’t be back on set anytime soon. They could probably get some VO from him if necessary, for a phone convo, but I’m gonna guess he’s done on screen.
It’s time to write both characters out!
As for the 22-23, 25-30 writers coming back, that is the best news I’ve had in ages.  They weren’t perfect, but the things they did well, they did really, really well. Their comedy, romantic scenes, heartfelt dialogue, accurate characterizations and penchant for sizzling scenes that “break the Turkish family structure” will all be most welcome. I’m really excited for the first time in ages.
Anonymous said: Very interesting that the fragman did not address the Selin baby drama at all. It focused solely on Edser which was a welcome change while at the same time has me a bit nervous for the angst & drama no doubt headed our way. But if Eda & Serkan are together for good now to face the challenges coming then I cannot wait to watch. The last episode was so well done but Eda & Serkan were both near their breaking points for different reasons & you just felt awful for both of them. Really glad that the engagement did not happen and the show focused on the fallout from Serkan’s amnesia. And even had the side characters addressing how difficult things have been for Eda and that she might need some time before picking things back up with Serkan! Looking forward to the resolution of the baby story/exit of Selin and seeing Eda & Serkan heal together.
I hope that the fact that nothing Selin-related was addressed in the fragman means that we finally have people in charge who understand that we are so damned fatigued of Selin that featuring her an active deterrent for viewers.  Also I haven’t seen any evidence that Bige has been on set for 38. That doesn’t mean she hasn’t, it’s still possible, but it is encouraging that the ep will be  light on Selin.
As far as the drama and angst, I think there’s more headed our way, however I’m hopeful it will be the good kind and not the kind that made us really uncomfortable and want to tear our hair out during the Selin/Deniz era. We know that Eda and Serkan must decide to stay together (spending time together, ring finger tattoos) so the point of the pregnancy storyline is done. When Eda found out Selin was pregnant, it gave Selin the chance for one last Hail Mary pass, and she took it, trying to break them up, but it failed. So it’s usefulness is over. She can’t keep the charade going because of Deniz, and because once Serkan has time to calm down and think, he’ll realize that any time in Slovania where he was so injured that it’s possible he doesn’t remember, he also would have been too physically incapacitated to do anything of the sort.
As for Eda needing some time, yes, things in 36 were just too easy for Serkan in terms of the fallout from his amnesic behavior. Episode 37 made him work for it and I think come to terms with the fact that, Selin manipulations or no, there’s work to do and things he needs to atone for.  Putting her first throughout the episode, and showering her with love, was a good start.
Anonymous said: The conversations Selin had with Eda, Serkan and Aydan in this episode had my blood boiling. Someone stop this psycho! The unnecessary hole digging was real, my god. I don't care if she's pregnant, don't hold Eda back this time and let her fight this snake. Let everyone fight her! If she's lying to Deniz now, he can fight her too.
I know, she reached new levels of abusive manipulation.  They better be planning a comeuppance, if she’s just allowed to leave with people waving goodbye, I will scream.  The Aydan conversation with her posing the question about abortion was something else. It came across to me more as a threat. Like... I’m thinking about doing this, if you don’t want my decision to be your fault, you better stay on the right side of me.
The Eda and Serkan stuff goes without saying. It still floors me that she’s willing to pretend like she raped him (if he can’t remember because he was that injured and foggy, then it’s impossible for him to have given consent.) rather than just giving up and living the truth.
Anonymous said: Like I get it (kind of) but I am so sick of watching Serkan be nice to Selin. Very much looking forward to Serkan chewing her out for how much she hurt Eda with this fake Serkan baby daddy story when she is exposed. I get that Serkan feels he is to blame for calling her to Slovenia in the first place & essentially in his mind giving her hope of them being together but he needs to stop excusing her horrible behavior from there. No decent person would take advantage of that situation the way she did. It seems like the only way that Selin will have an epic fall is if Deniz decides to fight for the kid he knows must be his and tell Eda everything. Going to be tough for her to believe initially but it will have to start making sense once she thinks back on things and then if the photos surface then she will know it must be true.
Agreed. I get Serkan’s guilt, and it actually shows what a good person he is, but he needs to get over it.  Because seriously, all Selin was obligated to do when she got his call was to hang up, and then dial one of the following: his mother, his father, his fiancé or best friend/business partner Engin. That’s it. Call them and say, hey, Serkan’s alive, this is where you’ll find him. But NOPE! Instead she decided to fly there, manipulate him, keep him hidden and try to use it to get back with him. She made him beholden to her, just another in the long line of brainwashing and manipulation. Her flying to his bedside was the wrong thing to do, and it would be great if someone beside Eda recognized that.
Anonymous said: Even though Selin is the worst and I just cannot wait for her to finally be unmasked as the manipulator she is, I am really looking forward to Edser in the next episode. Eda taking care of Serkan after he passes out, the two of them reaffirming their commitment to each other with the tattoos & possible elopement, Eda reassuring Serkan that she will be at his side even if the kid turns out to be his and also the two of them working together to get to the truth. So darn excited! And if the spoilers are right that Deniz tells Eda the truth and Serkan sees the photos from Ferit then I will be so happy. It is time for Selin to go for good!
SELIN MUST GO. Yes, I think as soon as the news that Selin is pregnant and trying to pass it off as Serkan’s brain-fog baby, Ferit will unleash the photos. (if it’s him that has them).
I just want Selin and Deniz gone so we can focus on other things. Their presence on this show is a energy drain, and I want to focus on rain frolicking, motorcycles and bed sharing!!!!!
Anonymous said: I'm so glad that we had a scene of Serkan telling Eda that even without his memories he fell in love with her again, he just couldn't admit it. Serkan has an interesting perspective on the memory loss part of their lives where I think he almost feels too guilty about it all and just wants to move past it. I've noticed that in his dialogues in 36 & 37 where he wants to leave it in the past and basically do his all to make it all up to her in the present and future.
I think this is very well observed. He definitely was trying to leave the past in the past, but honestly I think that’s just laziness on the part of the old writers, not wanting to have to have a reckoning for all the things they had him say or do. Since the writers decided to go that way, I could buy it’s because Serkan feels too guilty about it all. We know how much he loathes making mistakes or being wrong or owing apologies. If that’s what they wanted to do, it would have gone a long way if they’d shown a bit more of him blaming himself, especially in 36.
I was also very happy that Serkan came out and said that he’s fallen in love with her again. My only thing is I wish if they were going to do that, they would have thrown a little more detail in the dialogue. Like Serkan admitting to her that he started thinking about her all the time as soon as he returned and met her, maybe admit that he slept on his office couch clutching her wedding invitation.  A couple of things like that would have been very nice for Eda to hear.
Anonymous said: SCK sure loves creating difficult situations for Eda & Serkan. I really felt for Serkan in the last episode especially since he was back to being the romantic robot we all love. He so baldly wants to make up for lost time with Eda that he rushes ahead with the proposal and then gets crushed when she rejects him. And then spends most of the episode frantically trying to figure out what is going on with her and trying to show her how much he loves her. I was really happy though that the show addressed a few different times how awful the last few months have been for Eda and it also made Serkan address it. His plan to just forget about everything and move forward did not happen. Loved that the side characters stepped up to remind him of everything he & Selin put Eda through. Not so crazy that the show decided to use Selin’s pregnancy as the plot device to get Serkan to finally realize “oh yeah, what happened since my accident is a very big deal & now I have to face it & come to terms with it” but still glad it happened. Selin is obviously so much more in the wrong than Serkan but let’s hope her downfall takes place in the next episode.
All of this.  I think you’re exactly right, Serkan tried to brush past everything and I’m glad that finally the other characters stepped up a little to help make him see that he had more work to do. Special shout out to Seyfi for his sassy comment about Serkan almost marrying another woman. And finally Piril was useful and acted like a friend, the first time she had since he returned.
