How incorrect tagging contributes to SPN ship wars

@radioabsurd left this very impassioned rant about the behavior of SPN fandom in the main tags. Let me point out that there are things here, that I would say are correct. There are things however, that I am not happy with. I am not certain about this person's sincerely. Let me put it that way. I edited bits that contained blasphemy because I don't want that nonsense in my post. I also added bold font to the bits that made me smirk. Other than that, everything is as it appears. My commentary is in italics and brackets. Thank to doll face for forwarding this to me.

Supernatural Fandom

If you hate the actual angel Jensen Ackles, don’t talk to me, like my shit or any of that.

If you hate the actual angel Misha Collins, fuck off and don’t talk to me or like my shit.

[A please is thrown in, so the politeness is back. Also, note the order in which these actors are mentioned. Any other person would mention Misha last. But no, Jared gets last place, like an afterthought.]

I’m so tired of this hate people give each other in the fandom with the ship wars and shit.

[Honey, I would like to point out that all the hate, especially the violent ones directed to the actors, comes solely from the destiel shippers. Everyone else retaliates.]

I FUCKING ship #destiel and #cockles, but in no way do I think J2 are not important to each other. They are the bestest of friends. In no way do I hate on Daneel, Vicki, or Gen(They are all actually queens).

[Well, at least you agree that the Js friendship is hated on by the Misha shippers. The wife hate is a landmine. Do people hate the wives because they ship the boys or because they genuinely found nothing to like in the wives? I don't really care much for an actor's relatives. But if the boys are happy, whatever rocks their boats. Besides, who they marry is not my business. Out of sight. Out of mind. If I like them, I would have no reason to go overboard and call them 'queens'. But that is just my opinion on the subject. Julia Roberts was never called a queen, despite her success. Just pointing that out. Do I think they deserve any hate? I don't know them well enough to answer that one. But if you put yourself out there, you are going to get the bad attention with the good. As long as the hate doesn't extend to death threats, I say freedom of speech. Just tag it appropriately.]

Even If I don’t ship #wincest I’m not going to FUCKING hate on somebody for their ship because guess what! I FUCKING ship #thorki and #t'cherik and wow I must be such a disgusting human being but these are freaking fictional characters and aren’t real! (Not talking about real people ships)

Jeez, and all the ships hate on the wives and the other people on the show, not just one ship. XXXX, why am I even in this fandom.

Also, if I get freaking hate on shipping #thorki (they’re not even real brothers okay, get over it) or #t'cherik (in the comics theyre not cousins thank you very much) and your in the supernatural fandom then your actually the problem.

My issue with this rant:

I appreciate the effort. Don't get me wrong. But there are issues presenting themselves here. This rant is addressed to the entire fandom. The problem is that is doesn't differentiate between the instigators and the retaliators. There is an assumption, within the rant, that everyone should like the same things in the same manner without personal opinion or prejudice. And to be honest, that kind of uniformity in human psychology, is unheard of in human societies. We are all different. We cannot be expected to enthusiastically love anyone or anything unless we have been given viable reason to. The other baffling thing on this post is the anti Vicki tag. Interestingly, there is no other post with this tag. As far as I can see, nobody hates Victoria. People are generally quite indifferent towards her.

So you are basically giving fandom and onlookers the impression that this woman gets hated when, in reality, she doesn't even force a blimp in the radar. The only time I saw her being discussed, was when I watched in bemused amazement , as J2 tinhats were comparing her to one of the Js wives and talking about how much more nicer she was and how they respected her more. So those particular J fans don't hate Victoria. Do Misha's fans hate her? If so, how are they tagging their hate. I haven't seen anything.

You post makes no mention of actor harassment, cast and crew harassment, threats of arson and vandalism and actual attacks on fans by other fans. There is a different between someone saying ''I cant stand Vicky'' and ''I am going to burn Vicky's home down, while she is still in it''. A similar arson threat was sent to Jensen by a Misha fan. Receipts for this, and other threats, are on my blog. To my logic, death threats are a more pressing issue than hate. All of the aforementioned are by destiel shipping and Misha stanning perpetrators. To people who are not aware of this reality, if they read this post, they will assume that everyone in the fandom is hateful. They won't know about the truth. So no, all the shippers do not have an equal hand in trouble making. There are some that are worse than others.

Finally, your tagging is contradictory and troublesome. Tumblr recognizes 30 tags only, but the most effective are the first five. For a post of this nature, you shouldn't have tagged Danneel twice. Danneel has fans from her other endeavors. like One Tree Hill, who are not SPN fans. They don't need to see this drama, which has nothing to do with them. So that tag is a general/main tag and you should stay out of it. The last two tags are for ships outside our fandom, and basically what you have done, by including those tags, is exposed outsiders to the dirty laundry that this fandom is known for. This is where SPN's faulty reputation comes from. ''Mentions'' is also a very widely used external tag. It has not an SPN related tag, neither is it related to this post. Tagging this post under that tag, also brings this fandom into disrepute. The tags on this post, does this fandom no favors.

The post is not a hate post, [you are reprimanding all and sundry over putrid behavior] and therefore does not belong in the anti tags. If you are trying to right the wrongs of this fandom, do it in the main ship tags, for the whole shipping section of fandom to see. You cant tell people how to feel about someone. And posting this particular rant in the anti tags, is essentially you telling those people not to hate whoever they genuinely cant stand. If you are talking about a ship, tag the ship. If you tag your post #anti Jensen, you are telling people, this post is about why I hate Jensen. That is the point of that tag. That is not exactly what your post is about, is it? Now I tag in the main tags, and not in the anti tags because I tackle any subject that is going to cause a death threat to reach Jensen. That is the policy behind my tagging system. Your tagging system doesn't seem to make sense. You cant tag Jensen and anti Jensen. These two tags contradict each other.

Don't tag the characters on a TV show, because that is not what your post is about. People who are non-shipping fans of Dean Winchester, don't want to be bombarded with this shipping-related rant. This is not courteous to them. Also, if you misspell a tag, the tag has consequently been rendered useless. So there is essentially no point in having that tag. Just replace or remove it. Its not that hard. Also, I don't think you know what a bibro is. There are non-shippers amongst them. So why are they a part of this ship-war rant? You can't tag SPN or Supernatural, because the entire fandom doesn't need to see this. The entire fandom are not shippers. You were not addressing the entire fandom, so leave them out of it. In fact, your title is incorrect too.

Judging by the crux of your post, the tags should have been:

Destiel, Wincest, Cockles, J2 Tinhats, Wincestiel

All the ship names are present. So anyone who is involved with these ships will read them and understand. If you want to add more tags [which I don't recommend] then add the following:

Sabriel, sastiel

I would tag these two ships because they are ships that three actors are a part of. I don't recommend tagging the actor's names, because the post is not about them, but about shipper behavior. They are merely mentioned as the motivation behind the hate, by your logic. Their names are still general tags, and people searching Jared Padalecki might hate shipping and this post will give credulity to their hatred because it is invasive and makes shippers looks bad....well, worse would be the apt word to use.

I am conflicted about the motive of the rant. No, I don't believe any of the actors are ''actual angels''. They are human and flawed, some more than others. I don't think their wives of sovereign control of anything. But I appreciate the effort in bridge-building. The doll face that sent me this, found the wincest remark offensive, but I am willing to give your the benefit of the doubt on that one, because I assume it was an honest mistake. I am not a wincest fan though, which I why I am reacting a little differently. Perhaps, because I am not emotionally invested.

P.S.: Speaking of wincest, someone told me that even wincest ship posts are being tagged with the actor's and character's names. I don't care what you ship, but by using general tags, you are not driving on your lane. Stop mistagging. Unless Jared Padalecki is really pregnant with someone's lovechild, don't tag him in an mpreg post. I don't think he wants people knowing about his baby bump. Tag politely. Tags like Top!Sam and Bottom!Cas are NOT general tags, so that is ok. But Sam Winchester and Jared Padalecki, for example, are general tags, so keep your shippy stuff away from it. Wincest fans, its your job to clean house.

The reason why I am lenient with the wincest ship and J2 tinhatters, is because they are not repeat and frequent offenders, and they don't send death threats to actors. In fact, if you search the wincest tag, you find a small handful of offenders, and a destiel offender who tagged her post weecest and wincest even though it was about destiel. Now, why do that?

Respect the tags. Respect the actors. Stop behaving like SPN owes you something, and keep your fantasy on your side of the fandom.

Masquerade (Pt1 of the Bloodbath Arc)

The manor hallway leading into the ballroom was bathed in gold. Nobles of all races mingled throughout the halls and danced in silken attire within the grand room. At one side of the dance hall stood tables of food and drink the occasional waiter slipping between guests with trays of finger foods and champagne. The end of the hall was decked in a single large chair, atop it rested a fiery red head whose eyes scanned the crowd in mock boredom. The crimson red and black gown clung to her form and draped in waves at her feet as she sat, the billowing sleeves adding drama to an already intriguing neck line. Somewhere across the ballroom Dizarak stood stiffly just outside the entryway, donning a long black vest with flowing black fabric to his ankles, black pants and a black long sleeve top hugged his toned figure. Ashraen tugged at the collar of his shirt before smoothing his vest, and a few stray hairs. He'd opted for an outfit, much akin to the one he wore during the Tavern's anniversary event, however, everything was carefully embroidered with light touches of gold. He'd even gone so far as to find a very nice pair of leather boots that only stopped when they reached his knees and were adorned with golden buckles, and glittering patterns.

He licked a long fang as he approached his mate, a few loose braids swinging lazily with that confidant gait he always seemed to have. A large hand was placed on the small of Dizarak's back as a breathy chuckle was offered.

"Nervous? Don't be," he mused. "Aside from Moira, you'll outshine anyone in there. Besides, we're here to get out. Do something different. I... Wanted to spoil you a little." "Nervous is an understatement..." his hand idly tugged on one of his sleeves wishing he could be the skin just beneath it, hidden from view and anywhere but here.

"You are sure we couldn't just go stand on Murder Row and call it a night? Bound to get preferable attention there than here."

He grimaced at the crowd, his teeth tugging at the ever present lip ring, he could already tell the night would be spent attempting to make b-lines for the door for smoke breaks. The last time he had been to a gala he had been paraded around for potential wives. Ashraen opened his mouth and his ears sagged. He too eventually was chewing on his lip. This was a bad idea. Diz told him he wasn't about this life anymore and yet.... He wanted to see it. He wanted to see the man his mate seemed so convinced needed buried.

"Don't be like that, baby," he purred. In the slight shadows to the doorway, he bent and lightly nipped at the flesh of Dizarak's ear. "I needed to come for Moira and I didn't want to be alone. This is more your knowledge than mine. I thought... You might hate it less if I was here."

His words trailed off and he was a bit put off by Dizarak's attitude, but he simply covered it with a smirk, and a smoldering gaze. He held out his arm for the other male as his opposite arm swept toward the doorway. He offered a partial bow of his form.

Please don't leave me standing at the metaphorical alter....

Diz scowled, his mismatched gaze peering over at Ash. He was right...everything was more enjoyable with the golden eyed male by his side but he couldn't shake the sense of dread. In his scanning if the room he was relieved to not fully recognize anyone immediately. He slipped his hand into the crook of Ash's elbow and tugged him close, planting a kiss on the others lips in plain view of the attendees.

It was all the Paladin could do to not take Dizarak to the floor with that kiss. He broke it with a slight pant and ran a hand over the end of his ponytail that was slung across his shoulder. Hoo boy, Diz was going to be the death of him.

Screw it. None of these people would recognize him....hopefully.

"Fine....for you." He said.

Ashraen tucked his free arm behind his back and kept the elbow of his other close to his side as he led them into the proverbial lion's den. It was a mix of scents that immediately assaulted him. Expensive perfumes mixes with the baser musk of emotion. Ire, desire, disappointment...

Moira had really stacked her deck and when someone brushed past, Ashraen's head was snapping on a swivel to catch the scent with a heavy huff if breath.

All eyes swiveled to the void male, the weight of his presence palpable in the room. Silvermoon had been less than welcoming to his kind and rightfully so but with Ashraen and Moira's pull he had been allowed to attend the event provided he remain in Ashraen’s view while there. That didnt stop raised eyebrows.

Moira kept watch from her perch, her hired guards told to keep the tall men comfortable and safe, even if that meant disposing of a noble or two.

The dark haired male stood a little taller despite heafty gazes upon him, his hand squeezing Ashraen's arm once to draw his attention back.

"You realize they think I'm here because I'm your property. Right?" He muttered glancing at a few of the people around them. Quickly he dipped his head in greeting to the older gentleman who approached them with what appeared to be his daughter.

The older male spoke to Ashraen, "I didnt know they allowed slaves at these events? However did you manage to smuggle him in?"

Something in Dizarak snapped, he slipped his hand free and extended it toward the older man "Perhaps you'll forgive my forwardness but I wasn't aware they allowed ancient relics either. I'll forgive you for the comment about my being a slave. Cant blame ignorant people for not knowing to whom they speak. Dizarak Sanar of the Sanar Noble line."

It was as if the other male choked on his drink, quickly he dipped his head in respect and pressed his forehead to the back of Diz's hand before scurrying off.

The exchange was a whirlwind of quickly executed actions that nearly had Ashraen crawling after Dizarak as he moved about the room. Throwing physical weight around was one thing, but seeing his lover throw political weight around... The way he carried himself and addressed others... Sweet Light above.

Gold flicked to catch Moira from across the room and brows lofted quickly. She'd had her doubts. Excuse. His boy could fall back into line just fine. He simply chose not to, for whatever reason.

Ashraen was all too happy to follow Dizarak until a particular scent caught his attention. His head snapped around to locate the source and he seemed hyper fixated on the male he had located, conversing with a group. Young, up and coming thing that had a penchant for the nastier side of Silvermoon. He smelled of deceit, stale blood, and an updated desire that had Ash licking his fangs like an animal lining up his meal. He was so focused he had no idea that he was staring.

Dizarak had just finished turning away a young female elf who he could have sworn was about to swoon, when he turned back briefly to Ash. His face fell flat as he watched his mate stare at something that looked younger than Melisande.

With pursed lips Diz snapped his fingers next to the wolfs ear, no way in hell he would be ignored. This was Ash's idea and for once his mates wandering gaze drew unamused irritation.

Moira grinned from her perch, watching the void male morph back into the Sanar noble she was familiar with tales of.

That same ear flicks and stiffened with the snap causing the copper male to look back at his partner. The look simply read confusion until Dizarak's own look was registered. His ears sagged dramatically and he coughed an awkward apology as he snagged glasses of champagne from a waiter? A quick sniff determined champagne and the glass was offered to his mate with an adverted look.

"I, ah, I think I know why she wanted me here," he mumbled. "Sorry, I..."

Another scent sent his eyes wandering over Dizarak's shoulder and he bit his lip, fighting to pull his gaze back to Diz rather sheepishly.

"Do us both a favor and memorize the targets for later. Tonight you brought me to this hell, and you're staying put." He accepted the champagne, more for something to keep his hands busy than actually drink. Personally he disliked the stuff, but he figured there was no spiced rum so this would suffice.

With a single hand Diz reached to and adjusted something on Ash's shirt, a wrinkle or something. He frowned.

"I am staying put, darlin'. I haven't even mo--"

As he spoke, his eyes had wandered again and the void male reached and turned the paladins head with a rough tug, "understood?" He bargained, "or you'll be returning to a locked bedroom door with both your mates behind it."

Golden eyes now widened with shock and completely focused on his mate as he attempted to find words. He was rather sure this was a spectacle for all, further cementing Dizarak as the Noble he claimed to be, but the Paladin suddenly didn't care.

Ashraen swallowed thickly, murmuring, "Y-Yes, Dizarak."

Once he was released, he would exhale a low breath, and take up his place beside, yet just behind his mate. The adjustments to his attire had him glancing at himself and oddly now concerned with his choice. Was he not appropriate? It wasn't as fancy as his partner? To be right honest, he was positive he paled next to his date. Ash was not of Noble line, after all.

realistic drabble series: jung hoseok (m)

pairing: Hoseok x Reader genre/warnings: smut, tiny bit of fluff, characters attempt at Dominant concept. words: 2312 summary: Hoseok is generally very in control when it comes to the bedroom, but you cant help but wonder what it would be like to make him do what you want.

Hoseok continued to stare up at your stiff form, watching the hesitant way with which you fidgeted your fingers, swapping your weight from foot to foot. He could easily tell how nervous you were, and while the thought of him knowing you so well should have calmed you in some way, it only seemed to make you more nervous. What if you made a complete fool of yourself and he could no longer see you the same way? You didn’t want to consider the possibilities wherein which you could mess everything up, feeling as though if you focused too hard on the negatives, they might just somehow be willed into becoming true.

“You know this was your idea right? We don’t have to do this if you’re not comfortable.” He stroked your outer thighs in an attempt at reassurance. You knew he would eventually console you like this and as much as you appreciated his tenderness, you were determined to follow through with your ideas.

See, late nights browsing the internet while your boyfriend was away on tour left plenty of time for exploration on your part. Endless hours of boredom and an attempted alleviation through tumblr stalking and ¬– not so – shameful reading of more than a couple fanfictions based on your boyfriend and his supposed talents within the bedroom. And on more than one occasion, you found yourself surprised at how well Hoseok’s fans could really read him and his body language through little more than a dance routine.

From as far back as you could remember, the roles with which both yourself and Hoseok had assumed – in seemingly both the sexual and non-sexual aspects of your relationship – had never been up for argument nor submitted for discussion.

From day one it had always been the same – Hoseok was the dominant figure and you were the submissive. And it wasn’t even this way because either of you consciously chose it or wanted it that way; it was just natural to the two of you. Hoseok was the man and you were the woman. Yet you never thought twice or considered a role reversal, until one particular night, a little wine in your system and some –not so little– time spent in that really very curious side of ‘AO3’.

You suspected that the reason the vivid ideas of holding your boyfriend down and making him beg became so secretly arousing to you had a lot to do with the way it seemed so unlike him. Hoseok in the bedroom was no different to how he was on stage, powerful and naturally demanding of your attention. His aura screamed ‘obey me’ and you could never argue with his will – not that you’d ever realistically wanted to.

And up until this moment, with him sitting on the edge of the bed between your legs and carefully reading your expression, you had thought the hardest part would be mentioning your newfound interest to him. Oh, but you were wrong; the hardest part is never talking about it, it’s always the moments when you actually make the idea a reality.

“No, I’m sure. I want to try it at least once, keep things interesting right?” You rested shaky palms on his shoulders and he smiled up at you gently.

“Well, you’re the one running the show. Whenever you’re ready, I’m ready.” You nodded in earnest, widening your legs on either side of his and easing yourself onto his knees, his hands gripping your hips to pull you safely into his lap while you mulled over in your mind all the things you could do. Thinking back on a couple scenarios you’d read about, you tried your best to focus on the important aspects.

Control, something you didn’t normally have with Hoseok, and now all of a sudden, you almost felt you had too much of it you didn’t know where to start.

You chose the simple start and leant in to press your lips to his firmly, pressing against him until his back was flat on the bed. He kissed you back, humming against your lips and sliding his palms up your legs to grip at your waist. Sliding your tongue across his lower lip, you tilted your head further, deepening the kiss and moaning as his hands squeezed you in response. He parted his lips for you, letting your tongue in to caress and you both simultaneously sighed in pleasure.

It didn’t take long though, for Hoseok’s natural instincts to kick in and his hands on your waist dropped to your hips and pressed against your skin, a silent demand for you to move your hips over his growing length. Normally you would obey –and you nearly did– but you quickly realized what he wanted and broke the kiss, both your chests rising and falling rapidly as you gasped for breath. You pushed his hands from your hips and lifted yourself off his lap slightly, pulling his wrists until his hands came together above his head.

You tried your hardest to hold back the pout forming on your lips at the gleam of amusement in his eyes as he looked up at you. He looked entirely too composed and at ease beneath you, far more than you’d like anyway, and you glared at the tilt of a smirk at the corner of his mouth.

“Will you behave or should I perhaps tie you to the headboard so you cant move at all?” He didn’t try to hide the smile growing across his face, shrugging his shoulders slightly with a muffled chuckle.

“Whatever you want princess.” You tutted at his cheekiness, thinking for a moment as you glared down at him. Your frustration fed your confidence however, and you grabbed his shoulders to drag him up until you had enough room for what you wanted.

“Hands behind your back.” He did as he was told, twisting his arms back and pressing his palms together. In a flash your hands were on him again, pushing him back and forcing him to lay on his arms. “Too uncomfortable?” He shook his head silently, shuffling a little to fix his arm placement and you smiled softly, stroking his cheek gently. “Good boy.”

His glare made you giggle and you shuffled back to sit on his thighs, stripping your shorts off before starting on his jeans, only bothering to push his shirt up to his collarbones. Leaning down, you press kisses to his sternum; following the pattern of his ribs down his side until you reached his hipbone.

Drawing the soft skin between your lips you sucked until little purple bruises appeared, grinning against his skin each time his hips would jerk at a particularly hard nip, and by the time you’d undone his jeans and dragged them down far enough to grip his length through his boxers he was positively restless. He was not used to teasing of any kind, always getting what he wanted from you with a snap of his fingers, and it made you feel oddly proud to see him falling apart even just a little under your lips.

He couldn’t control the automatic twitch pushing his hips up to meet your hand, head tilting back in a delicious display of his jaw line and you almost wish you were up there to press kisses to the veins peeking through beneath his skin but the way he grunted at the nips of your teeth just above the little patch of curls decorating the skin beneath his growing length reminded you exactly why you were down there.

Sliding his boxers the rest of the way down his thighs, you gazed up at his toned abdomen in admiration as you took his freed length into your hand and started to pump from base to tip with no hesitation. He hissed at the sudden pleasure, letting his hips undulate to meet you, but that wasn’t good enough. He was still trying to control the pace, and you had to remind him that he wasn’t in charge right now.

Almost harshly, you tugged your hand away, letting the lightly weeping tip graze your palm roughly before it lands back on his stomach. His chin shot down until he made eye contact with you, eyes dark and piercing while he glared at you in discontent. You were pushing his buttons and you weren’t entirely sure where his limits ended, but you were definitely excited to find out.

“You move far too much, if you can’t control yourself I’ll be forced to punish you.” His scoffed under his breath and you felt your eyes narrow. In a moment of retaliation, you leant forward with both hands on his hips and used your body weight to hold him down, quickly dipping your head to shove him as far down your throat as you could take. He choked on the deep inhalation of breath you triggered and coughed through his groans, forced to stay in place by your firm hold on him.

I need to renew my car insurance in the next few days but I am also moving to a new address in under 3 weeks time. This new address offers me much cheaper car insurance. I don't use my car much and can do without using it all for 3 weeks. If it is parked on the road and fully taxed is it a legal requirement to insure the vehicle even if it isn't used. I can live with it being stolen or damaged but I wouldn't want to be fined for being uninsured. If i put myself on 3rd party insurance it either drops by less than 100 or goes up, ive read about this and apparently insurance companies think that if you get 3rd party insurance, you care less for your car so therefore they charge more.
