#mine #i barely have the energy for this rn but I wanted to start this project #Project Nicky has officially started #I bought a cheap fashion doll head at the thrift store to use her hair #because buying doll hair online was IMPOSSIBLE #i was gonna use bratz donor hair but I found this girl first #her hair isnt great quality but its fine #Nickys hair is pin straight so it doesnt need much #though im gonna have some issues i figure #i will have to punch like a thousand new holes for a middle part #and also he needa gray hairs. idk where to get those #except from one of my barbies.. but her hair is curly #also the reroot tool I made kinda sucks #needle slightly too big #but its a start

Current Brainrot~ Creep Yan plans to summon a powerful demon to kill those who have wronged them through their life - only it probably wasn't best to follow everything they read online as they actually end up summoning Clown Demon Darling who only knows how to kill with laughter. It's still their job to grant the human who summons them pure happiness and seeing as the only thing that would make Creep happy is brains splattered across the wall - Darling agrees to help them... On one condition. They need to clean up the mess they made in their room. And take a shower. When was the last time they had one of those? And buy some ice cream. Demon Darling loves ice cream, but it always melts before they get to enjoy all of it because they want to savior every bite. Creep should have done too, of course!

Just a sad, homidical maniac and the annoyingly sweet demon servant who day by day improves their life and makes it impossible for them to even breathe properly if they're not by their clown's side. I'd love to explore a reversal scenario with Creep Darling and Clown Yan eventually, but what we have rn is beautiful.

I'm a disabled queer author. My only sources of income are my benefits package once per month (usually about £1 which covers rent and local tax) and my partner, who is both employed full time and studying remotely at a performing arts school and working on set to try and bring more money in. Both of us also livestream and market online.

This month we've been shorter on money than usual and, because we'd missed the internet bill once before and never been able to pay it back, they've cut us off.

This, as you can imagine, will have catastrophic effects. Fortunately we have a friend who graciously let us borrow their 4G router until we get our internet back but it's only the bare minimum as the 4G signal in our home sits constantly at 1-2 bars. We will have to shut off everything just for my partner to make a business zoom call tonight. This isn't sustainable.

We've been relatively steady with our income, able to pay off the most important bills on time, but our excess income is extremely minimal so paying back debts is near impossible with the late fees they keep throwing at us. If we can pay this back we'll be safe from this particular danger for the forseeable future, but we can't do it alone.

If you can spare anything, please donate to my ko-fi. The amount on there is a little more than the debt you see to account for things like my paypal overdraft and food we might need to buy over the next few of days (yeah that's how tight we are rn) but you'll be saving our asses.

It's honestly near impossible to get graphic tees that are that cheap in Canada (well I mean joe fresh and walmart have them, but they are paper thin, the quality sucks ass). If you manage to find an online store from outside of Canada, then you get hit with the classic $20 shipping, and border fees apply to any purchase made over $50 (they count shipping as part of that) so maybe you find a $30 or less tee + $20 for shipping, get hit with duties and pay an extra $10-$18 depending on where in Canada you live. So the $30 tee ends up being $68. I am sure you are antiquated with that experience. If your location has resellers that might be a place to look, they tend to price them fairly (I would rather pay $30-40 right then and there than do the shipping/duty dance tbh), but unfortunately they tend to be not to my taste :P apart from that you could look at facebook marketplace, uniqlo has actual good quality tees but yet again not to my taste in terms of graphics, check poshmark canada or depop canada, diy or try your luck at thrifting if you have access. Best of luck!

ugh I know it’s so awful. my best luck so far has been with thredup, their stuff can get very very cheap but you do have to pay international shipping so it’s most worth it to buy several items once a year yknow. I love thrifting but I get so jealous of the tees I see advertised on insta, they’re so targeted to me 😭 ah well. honestly really wanna get into screenprinting but my place is too small rn

I am very interested in kink history and culture, are there any resources or books you'd recommend or is it a more Go Out And Learn From People thing?

Also here's a chance to soapbox about any of your blorbos and relating them to kink history (or just the history!) I'm all ears

God I haven't rlly done like a lot of bookreadin on it, which is a shame I would certainly like to </3 if anyone has some book recs I'll definitely take them lol (especially if I can read them online I'm not rlly in a position to be buying physical books about bdsm rn). Uhh man it Is kind of a learn from people thing just by virtue of kink being so personal, so talking to people is a good way to learn a wider variety of experiences than u might get from reading if ur trying to figure urself out (although if it's history and not modern-day culture ur trying to learn abt, then like books and articles and stuff are basically the only way to do it lol). Finding people to talk abt kink with on Tumblr is hard but not impossible, basically just follow increasingly strange gay and trans people and Someone will be into Something. One of my favorite bdsm education YouTubers is Evie Lupine, who does like all sorts of overview videos about certain kinks and gives advice about how to do kink and how to manage these kinds of relationships and also talks abt polyamory and asexuality and stuff like that if ur interested. Kat Blaque is another YouTuber I rlly like who talks abt bdsm, although her videos are less educational and more personal, you get a better feel for like The Community as it is in real life right now. Some of those "lgbt archive" type accounts on here will talk about kink history too, because kink history is lgbt history in so many ways, it's just hard to find bc Tumblr blocks all kink-related tags lol </3. If anyone has some more suggestions n maybe stuff I forgot feel free to stick it in the notes I know that's not what this blog is like About but again this is where I have the biggest platform </3 I do talk abt this kinda thing on main sometimes tho so like. follow me lol

i hate that it's getting more and more common for stores to host resellers on their website, sometimes it's impossible to filter them out. also it seems that because of it the stores don't offer as much choice as they use to ? i want to buy a specific thing and the only way i could get it in france rn is by buying it from an online shop that will probably tell me to go fuck myself if i have a problem and need to use the warranty? i want to buy something from a trusted store that won't close down in 2 months where i can bring my thing to the store and have a human in front of me!!!!!!

Pants rant XD

This is totally random, but I think I really need to consider looking at men's pants. I desperately need new ones (I have exactly 2 pairs rn, from which one is literally falling apart so needs to be replaced asap and the other one is only wearable if i can hide the waistband under a sweater because it's too tight for me to close XD - so I still need something for the upcoming warmer weather) and luckily I still have a voucher for local shops (otherwise it would be literally impossible rn). I managed to find a pair for about 20€ which is better than wearing nothing so I decided to buy it despite, but 1. it doesn't fit too well which looks and feels awful and 2. the material is collecting dust and pet hair like there's no tomorrow which drives me CRAZY. I used to only wear jeans, but these are cargo pants because I couldn't find ANY straight low waist jeans, even if they claimed to be straight lol. And for some reason there aren't any low waist jeans in general anymore, but I can't wear high waist because it squishes my organs which gives me stomach aches. 🙄

Somehow all the available pants we have in the shops here are too wide on the thighs/ butt for me, which stumped me for a while. Why are today's "straight" pants still tight fitting on the whole leg, please? Finding affordable normal straight pants wasn't THAT hard when I was (much) younger??

Unfortunately buying online isn't an option since the voucher doesn't work online, so maybe I actually need to check out men's wear, since my legs aren't too "women" proportioned apparently. Or more likely, boys' since I'm too small for actual men's clothing 🥲😅🙈

hey, so, I had an art related question... if all of this is too much, feel free to ignore it.

the backstory is that I've had the same laptop since early high school but recently I had a birthday (I'm 28 now). my parents got me an HP laptop, and my friend got me a tablet, which she bought off of an online friend for $30. the problem is that I haven't had new technology like... ever? none that was actually mine anyway, and certainly nothing that could handle me using it for art.

and this is especially a problem when it comes to the tablet. my friend helped me get firealpaca onto the laptop, and get the tablet set up with the right drivers, aaaaand... I cannot make one line that looks good using it. I've been using pen and paper for so long and I have a really light touch, and it feels like I have to jam the pen down to get it to register, at which point I might as well have not set the pen sensitivity to anything at all because the thickest line is the only kind I can make?? any lighter and it won't show up on the screen at all. like I can ctrl+z and it doesn't even go back a step, the line didn't get drawn. there's like a 20% chance that any line I try to put down won't actually register. and tbh this isn't really what I had wanted... it's a huion tablet, which is the brand I wanted, but I was gonna buy myself one where you can see what you're drawing on the screen of the tablet itself. not just due to coordination issues, I think I could get used to that part, but because I feel like I wouldn't be having this specific problem with getting things to register. every single line I make looks like crap with this tablet, it makes me feel like I might as well be drawing with my feet, and I've been fidgeting with settings, and it doesn't seem like anything helps. I also still don't have a mouse for the laptop yet, so I can't click and drag anything very well because it has a trackpad, so messing with sliders is already aggravating.

I feel so lost and overwhelmed, and like if I buy anything else, I'm just going to end up with more unusable stuff because *I'm* probably the problem. I just don't know anything, and trying is mentally fatiguing me so quickly... my brain knows what I want my art to look like, and my hands can do it with a real pen. I just have absolutely no clue how to make this machine produce anything.

so I guess my questions are stuff like, what equipment do you use? are there tablets that will register a light touch or am I really going to have to be this heavy handed in order to work with one? what resolution/canvas size do you usually work on? any recommendations for what program to use?

overall, I'd really like to get myself something that feels more intuitive than the tablet... honestly, I was finding some success drawing with just my finger on the touch screen of my phone at one point. there were still a lot of problems with that, but the nail in the coffin was that my phone's memory space filled up and I had to get rid of the drawing app to make it functional again (it's an iphone, which is why). maybe I should just get an ipad or something...? though, one more thing on the mountain of potential options is the last thing my crumbling ADHD brain needs. I've been taking a break from art in general because I've still maintained my 40-hours-a-week work schedule through the whole pandemic... I do 10 hour shifts and work overnight, so I technically have free time since I only work 4 days a week, but the type of work I do leaves me with no energy at all. so I've been in an art slump and I've been wanting to get out of it, but this is just making art feel impossible, even though the whole reason why I've always wished I could draw digitally is so that I can color digitally. I had been drawing things in pen and scanning them to color in photoshop, but cleanup takes so long that I literally can't produce finished work anymore. I'm out of options that aren't prohibitively labor intensive and frustrating.

Huh, well first off HAPPY BIRTHDAY DUDE!! Congrats on the sweet new tech (even if it's been a bit frustrating) and well-deserved celebration!

From the sounds of it I think the main issue is probably your tablet (this is pure speculation on my end though, so you know, grain of salt and all). You're right in that you shouldn't have to fight against your equipment. I have a really light touch too and I've never had the same issue. I personally don't have any experience with huion tablets, but if you're having trouble getting your lines to register then it might have been worn down by the previous user. It's not so much about buying a monitor (the screen one) vs. tablet so much as getting working equipment.

An iPad is a great alternative!! I've played around with the apple pencil and procreate and it's a super intuitive program with (obviously) super easy set up! You get the drawing on the screen AND really nice pen pressure. I'm really happy seeing it opening up new doors for more people to get into digital art!

In terms of your current laptop/tablet situation:

My set up rn is pretty pricey ngl; I have a PC desktop computer with a 16 inch Wacom Cintiq. Getting started in digital art doesn't mean you have to drop a bag on a ton of equipment right from the get go though! If you're looking for a safe small investment, I'd recommend getting a Wacom Bamboo pen tablet!

This lil' baby right here is what I started with!! I think cost-wise it floats around 70ish bucks, but that's exponentially more affordable than buying a huge monitor. One of my friends who's also a pro artist uses a similar small tablet because it works great! That's an alternative that might be worth looking into.

You can also get free trials on other drawing programs (clip studio paint is a great one!) To test and see if it's a software issue with firealpaca.

You could also try checking online forums to see if anyone else is running into similar issues, or watch some YouTube videos of people reviewing different tablets. I know this might be even more overwhelming, so I'd try and narrow the scope to focus on one thing at a time.

My best advice right now would actually be to get a mouse, or any other accessories you need. I've also been in your shoes where I was completely overwhelmed, and I can say that checking off all the small easy things makes a HUGE difference! It makes you feel more in control of the situation, and even if you're still having trouble with digital art you can at least get more comfortable using your laptop in the mean time.

I don’t know about you, but in a way, the stupidest thing about this quarantine is that it’s making me stressed about running out of stuff I don’t normally use? Like, I was shopping online last night and the first slot available for delivery is in two weeks because obviously everyone is buying their stuff online rn, and it’s okay - rationally, I know it’s okay because I planned ahead and we have plenty of things and we’ll be fine - but as I was going through the shop’s pages, I found myself starting to panic at all the things we didn’t have in the house. How were we going to survive a full two weeks without Scottish biscuits? What about garlic-flavoured popcorn? White chocolate? Powdered cappuccino? And jam! Raspberry jam, strawberry jam, peach jam and even mango jam - all of them there on my screen, tantalizingly close and yet impossibly far and above all out of my reach for two whole weeks! And never mind that we never eat jam - like, never ever, that’s why we don’t have it in the house - the sobering, piercing realization I couldn’t have jam made my brain blob around my skull like a demented goldfish. I was about to have a full breakdown over batteries when my boyfriend walked in and reminded me we don’t have anything that’s battery-operated. Nothing. And yet there I was, anxiously scanning through rows and rows of AAA and AA batteries, my shopping basket full of disgusting orange jelly and tuna cans (we’re both vegetarians).

Reader, I put everything back.

But then this morning, a message popped up warning me the next delivery slot available would be in two weeks and one day. So I bought some batteries and three pots of raspberry jam and hit ‘send’. Maybe I can bake a novelty cake?

cluna you’re literally so cool! you work through them? help couldn’t be me. i get super annoyed and if it’s not working i’ll just let it go and write something else instead shskdhdksk. for instance, i was working on this fic two months ago and i got really far into it when i hit a writers block. so, its just been collecting dusts for months now. a couple days ago i accidentally stumbled upon it and realize the potential it had so i might pick it up sksjdkd. i was literally prepared to just let it rot like so many other fics i write. so yeah idk sometimes i just give up because it’s easier even if it hurts me bc i spent so much time writing them sjshdkdj. yikes.

right?? and when you write a fic that takes place during the day you can get inspired by the atmosphere outside!! and yes!! i have to study outside i can’t get anything done at home. i used to be able to do that when i was younger but now it feels sooo impossible. especially with online school and stuff. either i go to a library, cafe or school. although most of these are closed now so i have to book a room somewhere to study. do you have a specific area at home where you write or can you just sit down anywhere and study?

for sure!! if i had the space i’d absolutely consider buying more books. right now i just have them scattered around everywhere (even some in my makeup drawer shdjdh). do you have a bookshelf? 🥺 that’s so pretty...! what are some of your other favorites btw? oh grade school is basically class 1 to 9... so from 6 years old to 15? girl no worries i know how difficult it is to understand all of that. when my friends used to explain their countries school systems before i’d just sit like owl eyes.
