So the most listened to (internationally) French artist happens to be a Black woman, her artist name is Aya Nakamura. She is the only woman in France in the top 20 of the most listened to artists. She was born in Mali (Bamako) came in France as a young child with her family and she now has the French citizenship.
She might be the one singing (a song from Edith Piaf) during the Olympics opening ceremony in France.
Again she is the most famous French artists right now internationally.
White people are putting signs saying “No way for Aya, this is Paris not the market of Bamako”. That’s how racist France is.
But wanna know the icing on the cake? The reaction of some politicians on the left. Sandrine Rousseau defending Aya by saying that it would give the image of a “tolerant and open” France. This is all about “image” they don’t want to stop being racists pieces of shit they want to be able to do it while still looking good and anti racists.
You say “this is Paris not Bamako” meanwhile when Black and Arabs undocumented workers went on strike the construction site of the Olympics had to fucking slow down and stop in some sites because there was enough undocumented workers on those construction sites that their absence meant not being able to continue.
You say “this is Paris not Bamako” meanwhile the only reason your health system hasn’t completely collapsed is because 1 doctor out of 4 is born abroad. Some of your hospitals would close without foreign doctors (Algerians represent almost 25% of the foreign doctors in France.
So you know what? This is Bamako. This is Algiers. This is Dakar. Without us you wouldn’t be a rich country. If you didn’t want us here you shouldn’t have colonized our people and shouldn’t keep looting our countries while financing corrupted governments, organizing assassinations of rulers who want to decolonize Africa and organizing uprising against them.

Hello how are you? Could you write something where the reader is a famous actress and Alexia or Frido loves the films she makes, and then one day (Alexia or Frido) gets all excited because she's going to meet the reader? :)
“Hey, film this. I swear, she’s been talking about it all day.”
Fridolina Rolfö x actress!reader
Summary: request
TW: none
WC: 1026
A/N: I finished writing this at 12:58 am so my mind is really not sharp so I apologize if its an actually piece of flaming shit. I also used this as an opportunity to kinda try out social media fics.
General POV
“Hey, film this. I swear, she’s been talking about all it day.” Lucy whispers to the social media admin.
“Frido, what’s the name of the film again.” Lucy shouts.
“Facts of Life.” She shouts back.
“Why Lucia, not this again.” Aitana whines from nearby.
“It is an excellent film, the cinematography, the plot, the acting. The lead actress is amazing, she had me captivated throughout the entire thing. I don’t understand why you are complaining.” Rölfo retorts.
“It’s not the movie we are complaining about, it’s you talking about it and the actress all day.” Aitana replies with an annoyed sound
“If you watched the film you’d understand.”

General POV Lucy was buzzing with excitement as she scrolled through the comments of Barca’s recent post. It had garnered a relatively good amount of attention including yours. Lucy couldn’t believe her eyes when she saw that you had not only liked the post but also left a comment.
“Frido, you won’t believe it. Come see this.” Lucy exclaimed, her eyes wide with disbelief
Frido, who was mid set, begrudgingly walks over to Lucy. Lucy could see her eyes read your comment then immediately light up, mirroring Lucy’s excitement.
“Oh wow. Is she being serious?” Rolfö half questions.
Aitana, hearing Lucy’s shouts from afar, chimed in.
“Lucy, de lo que estabas tan emocionada.”
“Frido, tell her.”
“Y/n l/n liked the video of me and commented an invite to her next premiere in Lisbon”
Aitana gave Lucy a quick side eyes before letting out an impressed whistle.
“You gonna go.”
Frido froze for a second. She absolutely wanted to go but it sort of hit her, someone she admired wanted to meet her.
-
As the Swede prepared for her trip to Lisbon, her anticipation and excitement continued to grow. Being invited to attend your premiere was amazing on its own but the prospect of meeting you added a layer of thrill. She knew she admired you but she could feel that there was something more to it.

Frido couldn’t believe her luck as she stood on the red carpet at the premiere of your film. The flashing of the camera and the glamorous atmosphere were things she had gotten accustomed to due to the award ceremonies but her heart still raced.
As she glided down the red carpet, her eyes caught a glimpse of you. She was completely enamoured, you radiated elegance and beauty. You noticed her staring after a couple of minutes and flashed her a warm smile, making her heart skip a beat.
Her heart skipped another beat when she saw you leave the throng of camera people and come towards her.
“Hey, I’m so glad you could come and that I could meet you.” you greeted her, extending your hand.
Frido, trying to keep her composure, took your hand. “Thank you so much for inviting me, I am a big fan of your work and you.”
You blush ever so slightly, your gaze holding hers. “I do aim to please and I’m glad you were the one I pleased.”
The fullback could see a hint of redness spark your cheeks and decided to test her luck.
Frido leaned in, a playful glint sparkled in her eyes. “I just really want to tell you this to your face but you are such a good actress, your films leave me wanting more. And meeting you is a pleasure that I didn’t know I needed.”
You chucked, the air between you filled with welcomed tension.
“Well, I’m glad you’re enjoying the show, both on and off-screen.”
-
As the night progressed, you and Rolfo continued to share laughs and engage in conversation. After 30 short minutes you had her heart. She was completely enamoured with you and she could sense that you felt the same. There was this youthful feeling to this love, sort of a school crush.
The atmosphere was electric and the connection between the two of you was palpable. Amid the middle chaotic glitz and glamour, there was a moment when Frido’s hand accidentally brushed against yours while while reaching for a canapé.
Frido's eyes met yours in a brief, yet charged, moment. A subtle blush painted her cheeks as she quickly withdrew her hand, but the touch lingered in the air. Unspoken words passed between you, a silent acknowledgment of the growing attraction.
You decided to take the initiative, letting your fingers intentionally graze against hers when you handed her a drink. Frido looked at you, a mixture of surprise and delight in her eyes. The touch was fleeting, but it sent a jolt of electricity through both of you. Later, during a particularly engaging conversation, you found yourselves standing in a more secluded area away from the bustling crowd. The soft glow of the venue's lights added a touch of intimacy to the moment.
Frido, feeling a surge of courage, gently placed her hand on the small of your back, a subtle yet affectionate gesture. You turned to her, and your eyes met, a silent understanding passing between you. The touch lingered, conveying a connection that went beyond the superficial world of premieres and films. In that brief moment, amidst the glamour and excitement, Frido leaned in once more, gently touching the underside of your chin and bringing it up for your lips to touch.

2 part to: The engineer
Tumblr media
It was a sunny morning in Monaco, and Yn Leclerc sat at the breakfast table with her family. Her mother, Pascale, had just finished serving them a delicious meal, and now they were engaging in light conversation before Yn's graduation ceremony.
"Je suis tellement fière de toi, ma chérie," Pascale said, placing a hand on Yn's arm. "You've worked so hard for this day."
Yn smiled gratefully at her mother. "Merci, Maman. I couldn't have done it without your support."
Her brothers, Lorenzo, Charles, and Arthur, nodded in agreement. They knew how dedicated Yn had been throughout her engineering studies, juggling her academic responsibilities and her part-time job.
Lorenzo spoke up, his voice filled with admiration. "Yn, tu es vraiment la plus intelligente d'entre nous. We're lucky to have you as our sister."
Yn's heart warmed at her brothers' words. She had always been proud of their achievements in motorsports, but sometimes, she couldn't help feeling a pang of insecurity. Being the only sibling pursuing higher education, she had often felt left out of their racing world.
"Merci, Lorenzo," Yn replied, her voice tinged with vulnerability. "I'm proud of all of you too, but sometimes I wish I could have been a part of the racing journey as well."
Charles, who had become an established Formula 1 driver, reached across the table and grasped Yn's hand. "Yn, we love and support you in everything you do. Racing might be our passion, but we know how hard you've worked for your degree."
Arthur chimed in, his tone sincere. "Exactly! We wouldn't be where we are without your unwavering support and encouragement. You're an integral part of our success."
Yn's eyes welled up with tears, and she squeezed Charles and Arthur's hands. "Thank you, both of you. I'm so lucky to have such amazing brothers."
Pascale, ever the nurturing mother, rose from her seat. "Enough of the mushy talk, mes enfants! We have a graduation to prepare for."
The family spent the next few hours together, helping Yn get ready for her big day. Pascale, a talented hairdresser, skillfully styled Yn's hair, creating an elegant updo. She then applied subtle makeup to enhance Yn's natural beauty.
As Yn looked at herself in the mirror, she felt a sense of confidence radiating from within. She was ready to face the world, armed with her education and the unwavering support of her family.
The graduation ceremony took place in a grand auditorium, with friends, faculty, and fellow students gathered to celebrate their achievements.
"Y/N Leclerc, s'il vous plaît, venez sur scène" Y/N's name was called, a sense of accomplishment washed over her. She gracefully walked across the stage, accepting her degree with honors from her professor, Madame Moreau. The audience erupted in applause, and Y/N couldn't help but feel a surge of gratitude towards her family, especially her late father, who had instilled in her a passion for knowledge.
Y/N took a deep breath and made her way to the stage. Applause filled the room as she accepted her diploma with a radiant smile. In that moment, all her hard work and sacrifices felt worth it.
After the graduates received their diplomas, Y/N was invited to give a speech on behalf of her class. Standing at the podium, she felt a surge of confidence.
(Ladies and gentlemen, today we celebrate our achievements as engineers. I would like to thank my family for their unwavering love and support. We are all here because of the sacrifices of those who came before us. First I would like to thank my family for supporting me throughout this journey. Your unconditional love has given me the strength to pursue my dreams. Today, I am proud to say that I have graduated with honors as an engineer)
Her voice resonated through the auditorium, carrying her message of gratitude and determination. She acknowledged the challenges they had overcome and the dreams they now pursued.
"Nous sommes la preuve vivante que peu importe d'où nous venons, nous pouvons atteindre nos objectifs avec passion et détermination. Ne laissez jamais les obstacles vous décourager, et souvenez-vous que vous n'êtes jamais seuls. Aujourd'hui, nous sommes ici ensemble, en tant qu'une famille d'ingénieurs" (We are living proof that no matter where we come from, we can achieve our goals with passion and determination. Never let obstacles get in the way of you, and remember that you are never alone. Today, we are here together, as a family of engineers)
As Y/N concluded her speech, the room erupted into applause. The pride on her family's faces was immeasurable. Y/N had not only graduated with honors, but she had also inspired her peers.
Her family erupted into applause, their cheers blending with the thunderous applause of the crowd. Yn could see familiar faces in the audience, including some F1 drivers who had become friends with the little Leclerc because of Charles such as Max Verstappen, with his signature grin lighting up his face, stood up and clapped enthusiastically, Lando Norris and Pierre Gasly joined in the applause, their support evident.
Yn's heart swelled with gratitude. She had found her place, not on the racetrack but among these incredible individuals who recognized her dedication and achievements.
After the ceremony, the Leclerc family gathered for a joyous celebration. Laughter filled the air as they toasted to Yn's success. The F1 drivers joined in, sharing stories and lighthearted banter.
"Merci d'être toujours là pour moi. Je vous aime tous. (Thank you for always being there for me. I love you all)” yn said raising her glass, and the room was filled with cheers, laughter, and heartfelt conversations.
As the evening wore on, Yn found herself in a quiet corner of the room, reflecting on the day's events. She could feel her father's presence with them, despite his absence. He had instilled in them the values of love, unity, and unwavering support.
Charles approached Yn, a soft smile gracing his face. "You did it, Yn. Dad would have been so proud."
Yn nodded, tears of happiness brimming in her eyes. "I know, Charles. Today, I felt his love surrounding us."
The Leclerc siblings shared a warm embrace, a moment of connection and understanding that surpassed words. In that moment, they knew that their father's spirit lived on within each of them, binding them together through their shared experiences and unwavering support.
And so, the Leclerc family celebrated into the night, cherishing the triumphs, overcoming the challenges, and reaffirming their unbreakable bond. Together, they stood as a testament to the power of love, support, and the pursuit of dreams.

Charlotte : And your country Napoléon V: My country is my family, too Charlotte: I don't yet know the subtleties of the royal profession

Napoléon V: My father used to say that the key is to be the servant Charlotte: The servant, really? I never thought he'd say that Napoléon V: He was a good politician, he said what people wanted to hear. But… I like the idea of serving Francesim, and not the other way round Charlotte: That sounds like you. It's a "military" way of looking at things
Tumblr media
Napoléon V: My father's advisors are competent, but I'd like to surround myself with friends and people who want to serve Francesim, just like I do
Tumblr media
Charlotte: After the coronation, you'll have all the legitimacy you need to get things moving Napoléon V: I already have that legitimacy, dear. But I don't want to taint my ceremony with political debates Charlotte: It's clever
Tumblr media
Charlotte: When we arrive, we'll have to make you look like an Emperor. You look like you've been taken prisoner on the island Napoléon V: Maybe so…
Tumblr media
Charlotte: If you'd been my prisoner, I wouldn't have left you looking like that. Napoléon V (laughs): I get it, I get it. I just wanted to show our Prime Minister that I can have a big beard too! Charlotte (laughs): Nonsense!

"Stone of Destiny" set to cause a stir
Tumblr media
Press and Journal: October 4, 2008
Some say it was the greatest robbery in Scotland's History, others that it bolstered calls for independence. Now cinema audiences have the opportunity to decide for themselves as Stone of Destiny opens next week.
The true story of Scotland’s most daring robbery hits cinema screens on October 10, when Charles Martin Smith’s latest feature, Stone of Destiny, is released.
The all-star cast includes Charlie Cox (Casanova, Stardust) and Kate Mara (Shooter, Brokeback Mountain) alongside Scottish screen legends Billy Boyd (The Lord of the Rings, Master and Commander) and Robert Carlyle (Trainspotting, The Full Monty) as well as Peter Mullan (My Name is Joe, Children of Men) and Academy Award winner Brenda Fricker (My Left Foot).
Written and directed by Charles Martin Smith, Stone of Destiny is based on the real-life story of Ian Hamilton, played by Charlie Cox, who led a group of four university students to steal back the legendary coronation stone of Scottish kings and queens and symbol of Scottish independence – the Stone of Scone.
Frustrated by political apathy and Scotland’s diminishing sense of nationhood, Hamilton sought to reawaken Scottish national pride and spur his generation into action.
For hundreds of years, the English had jealously guarded the Scottish coronation stone, the Stone of Destiny – an ancient block of sandstone symbolically used in coronation ceremonies which Edward I took from Perth in the 13th century.
Hamilton led a group of university friends to London to make a dramatic gesture to reinstate Scotland’s place on the political map. Despite having little money and even less experience, they hatched an ambitious plan to break into Westminster Abbey in the wee hours of Christmas morning and “liberate” the most powerful symbol of Scotland’s nationhood, the Stone of Scone – otherwise known as the Stone of Destiny.
Hamilton’s daring act was a moment of great Scottish pride.
Based on Ian Hamilton’s book, The Taking of The Stone of Destiny, the movie was filmed in Glasgow and London and, fittingly, had its world premiere at the Edinburgh International Film Festival in June this year.
Among those attending the premiere were Sir Sean Connery, Nairn-based Oscar-winning actress Tilda Swinton and the entire cast.
While Charlie Cox burst into public consciousness in 2007 with his lead role in Matthew Vaughn’s Stardust, the 25-year-old London-born actor was no beginner.
After making his big-screen debut in 2003 thriller Dot The I, he went on to work opposite Al Pacino in Michael Radford’s lush film version of The Merchant of Venice and Heath Ledger in another film set in the Italian city, 2005’s Casanova. Subsequently acting alongside Robert De Niro and Michelle Pfeiffer in Stardust, Cox evidently has no fear of challenging himself to the limits.
However, accepting the role of Hamilton threw up two challenges – perfecting a Scottish accent and coming up against Scottish acting giant Robert Carlyle, who plays Hamilton’s reluctant mentor, John MacCormick.
Speaking of Carlyle, Cox said: “He’s one of my favourite actors; in many ways, more so than some of the big guys because he’s more my generation.
“I’ve grown up watching his films and he’s a jobbing actor who does great role after great role.”
And mastering the accent?
“Absolutely terrified – and still am. There’s no real excuse for it, is there? It’s my job to get it right, and I’m not great with accents. I’m not one of those people that can turn it on. I had to really work hard with it. And I know that I’ll watch the film and hear sounds that are off and wrong, and I just hope that doesn’t take away from the performance, and I hope it’s not too obvious to others.”
Having spent months filming a story he initially knew nothing about, it’s interesting to hear his views on the completed film.
“I loved it. I thought it was incredibly charming,” said Cox. “I felt like I did when I read the script. I thought it was a wonderful story and told brilliantly. And I really feel like Charlie Martin Smith has translated that very well on to film.”
Playing a person who is still alive makes the role that wee bit harder, too.
“It’s a bit mad, isn’t it?” said Cox. “It’s a wee bit more pressure. I feel, with the other characters that I’ve played, anything extra that I bring to it is justifiable because it’s my own invention. Whereas that’s not the case here.
“You’re playing someone who does exist, who was documented, and although what I know of Ian is what he is today, and the bits of information I have from the 1950s and the rest of his life, I don’t have any video footage of him. So I had to make my own mind up, which is more freeing.
“But it’s a pressure. If I don’t do him justice, if I get him wrong, it’s not OK. His son was on the set, who, ironically, is a friend of mine. Ian (Hamilton) has seen it, but not on the big screen, and that makes a big difference.
“If you don’t know much about film, if you haven’t worked a lot with film, you can watch it on a small screen and think that you’ve seen it. But then it’s a different experience.”
Like Mel Gibson’s Braveheart, Stone of Destiny is tipped to stir Scottish blood.
“I read something in the paper the other day. The biggest boost of national pride in Scotland over the last 50 years was the release of Braveheart,” said Cox. “They had more rallies and letters when Braveheart was released than over anything else.”
Although he knew nothing of the story beforehand, having learned it, Cox feels it contributed to the movement for Scottish independence.
“Although it didn’t have a direct impact into the Scottish government, it was certainly a huge catalyst towards all of that,” said Cox. “Ironically, and a lot of this is by chance, filming it now is interesting because the nationalist party are in power. Not only was that not the case back then, it was far from it. It was not even feasible.”

In my analysis, about how Ezran's principles often work against him. I was wondering what could turn against him again? I'd thought of Callum first in terms of how to deal with Aaravos. And that was touched on in season 5 but will be explored further in season 6. The kingdom of Katolis? Could be, given his reconciliation ceremony with dragons and humans.
But then I thought, why not Sol Regem? Ezran has met the archdragons in two seasons. And given Karim's desire to restore his sight. And given Sol Regem's history with humans and dark magic. It would be Ezran's greatest challenge to get him to listen to him.

Hi, it's me again. Did the show do anything different in terms of Elisabeth's "character"? I loved those details for La Mort but it also feels like people aren't great at a balance between them and Elisabeth.
I fully admit that Elisabeth isn't my favourite character, and hence I haven't deep-dived into her characterisation in different productions the same way I have into Der Tod/La Mort, so I'll be much less eloquent when describing her. However, I really liked how they approached her character!
First of all, you should know that Bruxellons (a small production with no understudies for anyone) ran into some trouble right before the premiere, because Marie-Pierre de Brienne (principal Elisabeth who had rehearsed the role and already played it in the previews) couldn’t perform. They had to cancel three shows (incl. the original premiere) and were desperately looking for someone who could cover the role on extremely short notice. Enter Romina Palmeri, who agreed to do it on a Sunday night, had to fly in from another country, first rehearsed with the rest of the cast on Wednesday and was on stage for the premiere on Thursday. So four days of preparation in total. I was there at the premiere and she knocked it out of the park - you seriously couldn’t tell she came in on short notice.
I only got to see Romina’s performance, so this writeup will be based on her acting choices - don’t know if it was different with Marie-Pierre, who was fortunately able to return to the role after a week or so. (However, as the show’s run was extended because of the cancellations and MPdB wasn’t available for the new dates, Romina got to play the role again for the last few weeks of the show’s run, including the derniere.)
Elisabeth at Bruxellons
To me, what most characterises Elisabeth in this production is that she has some rebellious, strong-willed and spirited teenager energy throughout. She’s so lively and sweet at the beginning - in Wie Du, Max gives her a book as a parting gift, and she’s extremely excited about it; in Bad Ischl there’s a really funny moment where she slumps down on a chair without much care for ladylike manners and Ludovika struggles to get her (Sisi’s) hoop skirt to settle properly, it keeps flipping up.
At the risk of this turning into a Brussels Franz Josef appreciation post: god, he’s the best FJ to ever FJ. First time I’ve ever cared so deeply about the character. He’s perpetually anxious and conflicted over his duties and his wish to be gentle and good, and the reason he picks Sisi, to me, seems to be that it’s his one act of choosing his own happiness (acting according to his secret wish to be a compassionate free spirit) over the pressure he faces from his mother and the court around him, his one attempt at escaping the stifling social order he’s been raised to navigate within. Sisi seems to see this and Nichts ist schwer is so good because of it - they genuinely care for each other on a deeper level than “love at first sight”. FJ is so shy when he first takes Sisi’s hand and Sisi is happy to encourage him, and most of Nichts ist schwer has them stand together in a world of their own, happy. She loves him and thinks they can really make it work!!
And then it’s interrupted by Alle Fragen. Elisabeth seems a bit frightened by the ceremonial procession around her - well, I guess anyone would be with that organ music - and both her and FJ are equally anxious at being gawked at from all sides. When they stand together and family members come to congratulate them a few interesting things happen: Max reaches out to take Sisi's hand in his own and say something to her (maybe to plead with her or to offer words of encouragement) but Ludovika slaps it away; Sisi frightenedly reaches out to Helene but she (clearly bitter about Bad Ischl) recoils and bows to her with a cold smile instead, making it really clear that she's empress now and it makes her isolated. She seems devastated by this. So, along these lines, it really makes FJ’s refusal to side with her after/during Eine Kaiserin muss glänzen - even though he really wants to be free, but seeing the realities of the world around him, he feels like he can’t - feel like an even stronger betrayal.
Ich gehör nur mir has her take on a somewhat colder, more contemptuous and cynical attitude. It’s maybe even the beginning of her starting to harden herself to the world around her to survive. Of course, she’s still sweet and triumphant - but the way she turns her back at the audience and stares contemptuously at the giant anchor at the side of the stage (the only major, fixed setpiece) for the duration of the instrumental verse is very poignant. She’s turning her back on the power of the empire and choosing herself.
In Spiegel, she’s downright cold to Rudolf. She enters the stage only at the end of the song - Rudolf is too anxious about speaking to her to even approach her directly, he’s singing the song all alone and Elisabeth only walks in right before her lines happen, in her nightgown, reading a book. The line in the translation is “What are you doing here? What is it? You’re bothering me”. She doesn’t really struggle to make a choice between staying completely independent and helping Rudolf, just walks off after dismissing him. Of course, this makes Totenklage even more devastating - she’s very distraught - especially because the actor playing small Rudolf stands to the back of the stage during the number, listening to her, dressed in the veil of the dead.
Schleier fällt: She’s very happy about it, no undercurrent of sadness. She even jumps into La Mort’s arms when he picks her up.
Uhhh... what else? I feel like this will be a bit disappointing. Romina Palmeri is my favourite Elisabeth among all of the different productions for sure, but I still don’t have very deep analysis to give out :’D Mostly I think she’s really pretty and her acting is so good/the choices so interesting that for the first time I actually care about the character and her journey adhajdkjhaj (I’ve been known to skip Elisabeth’s songs, especially nichts nichts gar nichts, while watching bootlegs. Here I wasn’t the least bit bored, which is high praise!)
I actually recommend asking @szabadmadar about Sisi, they’re more well-versed in the character :D (Hope it’s okay to tag you!)

Monster March - Day 22- Fae- Part 1
Coronation Day
Tumblr media
You know, I had no idea what I was going to write for this. But then I was inspired by The Crown. And then from there- my hand slipped and before I knew it. I had 20k words. So I broke it up into three parts. Is the story over? No. But I wanted to give you what I had so far that should hopefully let you see where I'm going with this.
As always, thanks to @borealwrites for their Monster March prompts, even though, we are literally half way through April and I still have a bunch more to do. I really only did mean to write a one shot. But my muse went- 'you know, you could totally have more if you wanted to' and I was like 'hell yeah' and just...ran wild with it. And there is a pun in this. Because March is supposed to 'come in like a lion and out like a lamb' and I kind of took that concept and made a character the embodiement of it. So that was fun.
Monster March 2023- Day 22 Fae
Coronation Day
Part 1
“Are we ready Ladies?” Crown Princess Ambrosia asked you and her other Ladies as you all finished putting the royal regalia on her while all you then put on your own Royal Regalia Procession attire. You all finished up on yourselves before you all then took your places, to help the Crown Princess walk her extra long train down the Enthronement Path. That led from the room where you all had been preparing for this ceremony the whole day, with only a few maids to come in with platters to feed you since in this room was the first stage of her metamorphosis. Because today was Enthronement Day. Where Crown Princess Ambrosia would be made into Queen Regent Ambrosia.
You all double checked yourselves to make sure all of you looked your most perfect while your own attendants made sure that not a hair nor eyelash would be out of place. You were Ambrosia’s Premiere Attendant De Honorhe. You were her oldest and closest friend since childhood. And you were her first pick to serve her in that capacity, which you were honored and privileged to do, and took your duties very seriously. You had been Ambrosia’s Maid of Honor for her wedding only at the Spring Equinox and today was the Summer Solstice. And you were giddy to see that more than just fae were there that day.
Since the convergence, fae had to divide from the usual Seelie or UnSeelie to encompass more and more. It wasn’t just Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter anymore. There was just too much for only one court oversee. And with the convergence soon there were more and more magical beings could enter and exit the various magical realm.
Prince Matae from the Moura-Fae court held at Suchi was here with his wife, Meilira. One of the new members of the mouras invited to be in the fae courts since they were dual beings that could pass from the purely physical world into the purely magical one and everywhere in between.
But everyone in every court was here today. Because Crown Princess Ambrosia was Crown Princess to the Northern Hemisphere of the High World. Which for the Supersphere, there was two hemisphere’s a northern and a southern one. Both for the High World, The Middle World, and then there was the core.
Crown Princess Ambrosia had married a moura-fae hybrid, his name was Ruviem. And while it was true that many of the moura had married into the fae and vice versa and the hybrids were somehow the best of both worlds. And were even more powerful than their pure fae or pure moura counterparts. But he had been born a commoner in Suchi. Which is why many had turned their noses up at him, at first anyway.
But Princess Ambrosia had snuck out of the solstice and equinox festivals to party with the mouras at their various colonies. Where fae were always welcome and always allowed to come and go as they please. And marinai was shockingly similar to a fae’s mother tongue, but actually, usually much prettier.
And she had danced at the festivals with her now husband for two consecutive years. But you knew that they had practically fallen in love with each other the first time they got to dance together. And once Ambrosia had met him. No other would do. And she loved him and only him and since so many moura and moura-fae hybrids had been welcomed into the fae circles of all the courts. It wasn’t hard for him to come to her realm. And while he had to court her the traditional fae way, as per custom and tradition as it demanded.
Ruviem however, had one very special quality. He did not turn things into moura gold, which was normal for mouras. Most moura-fae hybrids could actually turn said moura gold into platinum. But Ruviem? He was descended from the first Electrum Moura. And so he turned any other metals into electrum, not just any white gold, that electrum could also be known as. No, this electrum was completely unique. Electrum that could have magnetism. Keep an electrical charge. Serve as a battery. Or even serve as a light source all by itself and glowed. Like lightning lit up a cloud from within. Ruviem had hand crafted the most amazing and exquisite engagement ring for Ambrosia. Which was the single most precious possession she had, besides his love. Because he taken true gold. And turned it into electrum and then styled it to suit just her, all around a glowing opal benar. Something only electrum mouras could make. The thought of living without her had pushed him to cry it out himself and he had used it to make his engagement ring. One that when she put it on. She could always touch it and feel just how much he loved her. And how much he would be absolutely lost without her.
He didn’t care if she was a princess, a fae, a moura, or even if she was any other kind of being. His soul saw hers, and had said yes. And so had hers.
So despite, the protest, Ambrosia was ready and willing to forgo her crown and her kingdom if it meant she could live with her love. So the old King and Queen gave in. And accepted her choice. Because otherwise the court would have to disband and a new dynasty would have to take it over and their own possessive pride forbade that from happening. So they basically had to throw out the rulebook and amend it and enact new laws to allow moura-fae hybrids and mouras alike into the courts as peers. And once he got that and was made a Gentleman of the Court. Then she could quickly claim him as her husband so that she technically followed the rule of selecting from her “peerage”.
But for now, you and the others had a job to do as you looked to all the others who gave you the nod that they were ready.
“We are ready Your Majesty. Let’s make you the greatest Queen Regent this court has ever seen.” You answered her which got her and the others to snicker a laugh as she reached back to grasp your free hand and give it a reassuring squeeze.
“Agreed. Let’s do this and kick some entitled ass doing it.” Crown Princess Ambrosia insisted which got another round of laughter before you all quieted down as the doors were finally opened to reveal her as she exited the room to see everyone lining both sides of the aisle as she left the room she was being prepared from to meet her husband and future King Consort Ruviem. Since he was getting ready in the other half of the room. Since it was divided to keep the two separate as they got ready, but now, the dividers were being pulled back to reveal the the two halves of the whole room as they walked the short distance to each other.
They joined hands and smiled so happily at each other before the two turned to walk towards the thrones where Ambrosia’s parents were seated as you could see their own pride practically bursting at the seams.
After all this time of raising her and grooming her for this moment. It was finally here. And while her husband was not someone they had ever imagined, every day, they grew more and more fondness and understanding that her husband, was who she needed- in order to rule their realm, their kingdom, their dynasty, their legacy.
Once Ambrosia and Ruviem got to the stairs, the old King and Queen stood and walked to the stands where Ambrosia’s Queen Regent Crown was sitting atop a plush pillow, to disguise the framework of the stand built into the cushion to support the quite heavy crown on. And where Ruviem’s King Consort Crown simply rested on the other.
“May the Renewal of The Thrones Commence!” The Court Sage said.
“I, King Pietaire, having ruled this court for 150 years. Do recognize that my time for ruling it as King Regent, has passed. And do declare my decent from the Throne.” King Pietaire announced before he took the crown off of his own head and put it on the pillow next to Ruviem’s crown.
“And I recognize, Crown Prince Ruviem as my rightful successor as King Consort.” King Pietaire finished with a brave face, but a proud smile all the same as his lips quivered, ever so slightly as his voice was filled with pride, affection and emotion as Ambrosia turned to her father and got misty eyed herself.
“So I hereby anoint and appoint you, Crown Prince Ruviem, as King Consort of the Kingdom.” He said as he picked up Ruviem’s King Consort Crown, and put it on Ruviem’s head as Ruviem knelt to accept the crown onto his head.
“I, King Consort Ruviem do accept this Crown and this Kingdom from you. And hereby appoint you as Dowager King. Long Live The King.” Ruviem replied as he took the Dowager King Crown from it’s cushion and put it atop his father in law’s head.
“Long live The King! Long live The King! Long live The King!” The entire court chanted in unison so loud, it was practically like booming of the thunder itself.
“I, Queen Kallefae, Queen Consort of this Kingdom, having ruled beside my King for 150 years. Do also recognize that my time for ruling it, as Queen Consort, has passed. And I do declare my decent from the Throne.” Queen Kallefae announced proudly as the smallest but brightest and happiest and proudest of tears escaped the corners of her eyes as she did so as Ambrosia actually had to use a handkerchief to dab at her eyes. She never thought that she would feel this emotional about this.
“I recognize, as my successor, Crown Princess Ambrosia. And I hereby appoint and anoint, my one and only precious daughter, my Pride, my Joy, my Confidence, my Hope, my Faith, my Future- and most of all, My Beloved Ambrosia, as my successor to the Throne and the Kingdom to which it presides over. And do recognize her as Queen Regent Ambrosia of this realm.” Queen Kallefae said, her voice so thick with emotion, her tears now running down her cheeks, but her smile, ever as brilliant, ever as proud, and loving and affectionate as it ever could have been as Ambrosia herself was now crying, as were you and your ladies as all of you had one hand on her train and one hand on your handkerchiefs dabbing your eyes so that the tears would not ruin your makeup as it seemed many of the others in the court were doing the same. Queen Kallefae didn’t need to add all of that. But Ambrosia, definitely needed to hear it.
Queen Kallefae took her Queen Consort Crown off of her head and put it on it’s designated pillow and put her daughter’s Queen Regent Crown atop Ambrosia’s head, granted with much more magical help than anything because, the Queen feared her arms would come right out of their sockets should they try to pick up the heavy thing as you watched with baited breath as the Queen’s magic placed it perfectly on Ambrosia’s head where a special support was pinned into the ring of hair around where the crown was supposed to rest as the crown settled but stayed right where it was supposed to be on her head.
Ambrosia closed her eyes, her tears making a little river down her cheeks as her smile was ever so serene before she opened them and then stood to her full height.
“And I, Queen Regent Ambrosia, do accept this Crown and the Kingdom to which it rules over from your ever loving and guiding hands.” Ambrosia began before she reached for the Dowager Queen Crown.
“And I hereby appoint you, as Dowager Queen. The best, most beloved- Dowager Queen. Long live the Queen!” Ambrosia announced as she put the Dowager Queen Crown on her mother’s head before kissing her mother’s cheeks before she received a third kiss to her forehead from her mother as the two held hands so tightly, you would think that they were each holding onto their own lifelines before Ambrosia broke with tradition and outright hugged her mother as you had to use your own magic to make sure Ambrosia’s new heavy crown didn’t fall as Philimena, the second Premier Attendant De Honorhe did the same for the Dowager Queen’s Crown before the King himself broke with tradition and hugged his wife and daughter while he pulled Ruviem into the family hug.
“Crown, crown, crown, don’t let the crown’s fall from their heads!” You whispered to the King’s Attendants in a panicked whisper as you saw the crowns begin to slip while they practically scrambled to do the same with their own magic.
“Shit, shit, shit,” you heard the King Ruviem’s Attendants whisper under their breaths as they did the same.
“Long live The Queen! Long live The Queen! Long live The Queen!” The court echoed.
“Love live The Royal Family!” Ambrosia practically cackled from between her parents and her husband.
“Long live the Royal Family! Long live the Royal Family! Long live the Royal Family!” The court echoed before dissolving into thunderous applause and cheering and rejoicing.
They pulled apart, all of them wiping the tears from each other’s eyes and smiling so happily at each other before the Dowager King took Ruviem’s arm on one side, while the Dowager Queen took Ambrosia’s other arm while Ambrosia and Ruviem still held hands as they ascended the steps to the thrones while you and your other Ladies got Ambrosia’s train ready and off to the side so that she and Ruviem could sit down at the same time onto the their thrones as the Dowager Queen and Dowager King stood aside and then slowly descended the steps to their seats at the bottom of the steps while you and your fellow Ladies got Ambrosia’s train to lay just so, as it was supposed to lay.
The hall was dazzling, the gowns were gorgeous. The crowns were sparkling. Everything shimmered, sparkled and glowed. But you still couldn’t get over the way the Imperial Queen Regent Crown who had been created for the first Queen Regent over a millenia ago. But had recently been refurbished and re-embellished so that while it was practically a new crown, between all the new gemstones and replacing gold where there had once been silver, platinum where there had once been gold and now electrum. A metal that glowed like sunshine and lightning itself was atop her head. Granted it had to be cushioned quite heavily for the new Queen to wear it comfortably. And while you knew it was quite hefty. She wore it as if it weighed no more than the hair of her head.
And while the King Consort’s crown was not as lavish or extravagant, but he wore it with pride. And while he was not wild about being a Prince Consort, let alone King Consort, he understood that his wife wanted him to rule beside her. And that together, they were balanced and could keep a peaceful harmony, not just with each other, but with the kingdom as a whole. And you were were so proud of the Queen for realizing that- that she was better off asking for and accepting help, but that she didn’t need to do everything all by herself, or bear all of her heavy burdens by herself. But could find relief in sharing said burdens and make them more manageable instead of being crushed by them.
You had spent your lifetime watching as your friend, fought tooth and nail to marry the love of her life, Ruviem, who, while he was an exceptionally gifted and talented moura-fae, was still born a commoner and their battle and path to this moment had been long, hard but well worth it. Because here she was, Crowned Queen Regent. And she got her love to not just be Prince Consort, but King Consort. Which you were sure was the Queen’s greatest achievement thus far. Her first of many triumphs, you were sure.
It’s what put the fairy in fairy tales, or fae in faery tales perhaps. Because she was living proof that love could conquer all.
You sighed dreamily as you helped put her long train into position so that it laid perfectly as she took the throne.
“You look so beautiful, Your Majesty.” You whispered to her as you draped it and kissed the fringe of her train reverently, so humbled that she chose you to do such an important role before taking your place beside her so that she and her husband and king could alight the whole court with their magic and glory.
You counted yourself as one of the luckiest women in the courtroom, besides the Queen herself. Firstly, for the immense privilege she had bestowed unto you for continuing to keep you as close of a friend as she had despite your roles. The fact that you could help her become the Queen you always knew she could be. And to have the honor of being her Right Hand Premiere Maiden of Honor for her coronation was an honor you would cherish for the rest of your life.
Soon, it was like the sun itself was born in the court. As every corner that had begun to go dark and dim with the waning of the old King and Queen as they aged out of their reign began to wane from their lessoning magic with age and use.
There were details that you never knew were there. Special crown molding where the ceiling met the walls. And around the pictures of kings and queens of old. Both on their coronation, and when they left the thrones.
It was always amazing to you how much so little time could age people, even the fae and fairy alike. But that came with the position you supposed.
Your friend, who was now Queen Regent, you had known, all your life. You had grown up together. Being a friend of hers, meant that you got to see how she was groomed, educated and prepared to bear the crown herself which in turn meant that you got the same education she did so that you could serve on her council should she ever seek it. You were proud when she learned how to follow her instincts and keep traditions alive while not being chained by them. Especially when the world was constantly changing and what proved true to one generation and one reign could be disastrous and prove to be the downfall of the next. But you knew her, much better than most got the pleasure to She had a good head on her shoulders and would rule with kindness, mercy, justice and fairness. Instead of leaning on old traditions to plot every day and every week- years in advance.
She smiled and crinkled her nose at you in response. The way she always did when you made such gestures both in private and in public.
“So do you.” She whispered as she leaned towards you slightly before sitting up more straight again.
“Not as beautiful as you do…” You practically sang in a soft murmur as you stood next to her as you two shared a happy and bright smile before the whole hall then the castle, then the kingdom was alight anew.
“Mmmhmm.” She hummed before she turned to her husband and smiled so brightly and lovingly and adoringly at him as he did the same to her.
Then your eyes traveled up from them before you caught the eye of one of the King’s attendants and he offered you a hopeful smile before you smiled politely back before you averted your gaze from him. Because the smile he gave you was that ‘at last we meet again’ kind of smile and you could not remember meeting him before, at least formally. Which was an embarrassment. Because you were supposed to know who everyone in this court was. But you looked down the line of his attendants and you could only vaguely remember seeing them around the castle as if they were some of the aging master’s apprentices. But none of them were looking at you the way he was. Mostly because all the others were more focused on smiling for the portrait that was just now beginning to be created before you turned to face the master painters as they magically made a portrait to capture the moment.
“It’s about time you noticed, he’s been trying to catch your eye for this whole ceremony.” Your friend, and fellow Lady in Waiting, Philimena murmured over to you as she plastered a pleasant smile on her face as you did the same for the royal portrait that was still being created.
“Seriously?” You asked through your smile.
“Oh Hun, it’s a miracle he didn’t trip over his own feet, let alone the King’s train the moment he saw you walk out with the Queen. And had you been on the inside of the train, he’d been chatting you up the whole walk down the aisle. It’s a wonder he could keep King Consort Ruviem’s crown on his head, because he was too distracted by you.” She murmured back.
“You don’t think…?” You began to ask because there was a long standing “tradition” that many of the Queen’s Attendants usually fell in love at her coronation with her King’s Attendants and got married, if not at their wedding, then definitely at their coronation before she gave you a meaningful look beyond her smile.
“Oh, well, what do you know about him? Because I don’t know him.” You asked your friend.
“How about you ask him yourself after the Ceremony, Dearest.” The Queen interrupted.
“Sorry, Your Majesty.” You apologized.
“Don’t apologize, just talk to him. And find out who he is on your own. And let him show you who and what he is.” The Queen sagely suggested.
“Like you did with your King, Your Majesty.” You recalled with a fond smile at the memories of their long and quite complicated relationship, but every bit was worth it in just this moment you were pretty sure.
“Exactly.” She beamed happily.
After the ceremony and the portrait was finished, everyone applauded as it was then magically framed and put up onto the walls, right behind the thrones themselves. You walked her train back to the private preparation room this time, right beside the young man as you simply kept your eyes forward on the back of Queen Ambrosia’s head to make sure that crown didn’t move from it’s place on her head as you could feel him still spare you several glances as you were to anxious about the crowns not slipping from the newly enthroned King and Queen to give any back. However as anxious as you were, a calm and serene smile never left your features, despite your focus narrowing on nothing but the Queen and King’s heads. Besides, this was the last moment for you to be distracted in your duties now. The ceremony was nearly complete and now the process of preparing the regalia to go back into storage would start the moment the doors would close. You were nearly there.
The doors opened and you and the others walked the King and Queen into the room before the doors closed behind you and once they did, all of you blew out a collective breath of relief that you had succeeded in getting through the ceremony.

Displays to commemorate the Pathfinder Force
The Queensland Air Museum in Caloundra, Queensland, is home to some impressive displays commemorating the Pathfinder Force in World War II. The Pathfinder Force was an elite group of bomber crews that would lead the main bomber force to the target. The display includes models, uniforms, and memorabilia.
The displays are located adjacent to the F-111 strike aircraft. The F-111 was the premier strike asset for 37 years. During these years, the spectacular flame produced by an F-111 was famous at air shows. It was also used during the closing ceremony of the Sydney Olympics.
The museum haMuseumllection of over 70 historic aircraft. It is Australia's largest aviation museum. The aircraft are grouped into various categories, including military and passenger types. It is located at Caloundra Airport. A guided tour of the museum's Museum's aircraft is available.
Queenslander Don Bennett founded the Pathfinder Force. He led the group of bomber crews. They flew missions to attack the Germans during nighttime area bombing. The loss rate for these operations was four to five percent. The aircraft was designed to fly at low altitudes, so the pilot could descend at a steep angle to avoid damage to the propeller.
The museum Museum'salso features the P-51 Mustang, a fighter aircraft that was one of the best-performing allied aircraft during WWII. The Pathfinder Force's commander, Air Vice-Marshal Don Bennett, flew the Mustang. B-17 and B-24 heavy bombers escorted the P-51. The Mustang was accompanied by the B-17's nickname, "High Hats."
There is also a collection of other aircraft, including the de Havilland Gipsy Queen and the R-1830 Twin Wasp. The museum contains turbojets, piston engines, and radial types. In addition, there are many other displays and artifacts on display.
The Queensland Air Museum is a community-owned aviation museum. It is a great place to visit with the entire family. Most days, the museum is a museum for free tours. However, a knowledgeable volunteer can give you a history of the aircraft and help you learn more about them.

Remember… there is something about this place that inbuilt in its character is a very strong sense of identity. Sort of an invitation to claim it, own it, your home, like through a stick of rock, so when you leave that or lose that I think you can have a troubled time. — Sir Kenneth Branagh

Small Moments at the Biggest Wedding.
This is the Fic I wrote for the @alwaysandforeverzine
(I am so behind on posting this.)
In an unguarded moment at the reception following Ladybug and Chat Noir’s Eiffel Tower wedding, Rena Rouge and Carapace gave a peek behind the masks of the great superheroes’ romance.
Ao3 Link
There is no question that the wedding of Ladybug and Chat Noir was the biggest wedding in Paris this season.
Paris’ premier superheroes spoke their vows live-streamed from the Gustave Eiffel Reception Room. Mayor Bourgeois officiated in front of 300 in-person guests. Rena Rouge and Carapace were Maid of Honour and Best Man respectively, and also stand-ins for the couple’s absent parents. The reception coincided with the Bastille Day celebrations covering the Champs de Mars and Trocadero Gardens.
After the ceremony, Ladybug, Chat Noir, and other members of Paris’ famed hero team mingled with the everyday citizens and celebrity attendees in the plaza under the tower. There were comments in the crowd about Hawk Moth and Mayura's attendance as guests. However, with the entire Parisian superhero team present, as well as several heroes from other countries, the chance of a sudden relapse into villainy was considered unlikely,
The wedding party had stood receiving well wishes at the plaza under the Eiffel Tower for almost two hours before the happy couple donned their wings and flew off on their honeymoon.
I caught up with Paris’ next most senior heroes in a secluded nook nursing their champagne, cake, and choux from the croquembouche that could be found on the tables scattered around the area.
Carapace stood between the Fox and the rest of the celebration as she handed him her glass and leaned up against the stone tower footing to massage the arches exposed by her strappy, black D'Orsay heels.
I approached to ask if I might have a moment of their time for a few questions. Carapace’s lips thinned, but then his companion placed a hand on his shoulder. He visibly relaxed, stepped a little to the side, and handed her back her drink.
Rena Rouge was wearing a knee-length A-line satin gown in the same cranberry red that lined the cape of the bride’s wedding ensemble. The black sweetheart-neckline bodice with embroidered roses swept low in the back.
Carapace wore a tuxedo in classic black. His usual hood was absent but his signature goggles remained.
“What did you want to know?” Rena asked with a smile.
“You have been Ladybug and Chat Noir’s longest, and some would say closest allies. What did their romance look like from your point of view?”
The two heroes shared a long look before snorting simultaneously.
“Dude,” Carapace said, “I'm not sure where to even begin.”
“Well,” I said, “everyone always wondered if what they told Nadja Chamack in the interview that triggered the Prime Queen incident was true or if they were just trying to downplay things because of Hawk Moth.” I lowered my voice to a  whisper. “They were so obviously in sync even from the beginning.”
I started as Rena Rouge began to laugh. Carapace frowned at her then gave me a half-smile. “We really shouldn't laugh, but I suppose it's not much of an issue at this point.'' He looked up to the first level where they had stood for the ceremony only hours before. “They were both right at the time -- LB that they weren't a couple; Chat that they were in love.” Carapace shook his head and sighed. “The problem, we learned later, was that they were each crushing on the other's alter ego.”
Rena reached up to take her partner's hand and began speaking in a subdued voice. “It was one of those ‘hilarious-in-hindsight’ things that was just sad and frustrating at the time.
“While Hawk Moth was active, they didn't know each other's civilian identities in case they got akumatized.” At her sudden scowl, I twisted to see the two former villains standing towards the middle of the plaza under the tower, a wide, empty space surrounding them.
“Ladybug didn’t make anti-akumatization charms for herself and Chat Noir?” I asked.
“Unfortunately,” said Rena, “she can only make one for a person after they have been akumatized. You can see how that would be a problem.
“So,” Rena Rouge continued, “Chat would have these two-second mopes whenever Ladybug turned him down, again. And Ladybug would bemoan, at great length, how she was too scared to tell this wonderful, sweet, considerate  guy she knew that she liked him. But she couldn't give up on him, not even for her wonderful, sweet, considerate partner, and it just tore her up inside.”
“That sounds like a hard thing to watch. What was most frustrating about it?” I asked.
“The fact that no matter how hard we trained, we could never be half as coordinated a team as they were without even trying," Carapace said. Rena Rouge nodded along.
"Sometimes, they didn't even need to talk; it was like telepathy. They would be having some completely unrelated conversation, or worse, a fight, and still move like they were one brain in two bodies." Rena groaned. "Made me so jealous."
Carapace raised their joined hands and kissed the back of her fingers. "We got there, too, Babe. Just took us a little longer."
"So, is it too early to announce the next Super-Wedding in Paris?" I asked.
"I think it's a bit early for that,” Rena said, suddenly breaking into a grin. “Ryuuko and Viperion still haven't figured out if they are a thing yet, or if they just like making out." I was surprised, as they were not a common pairing.
Carapace smirked and waggled his left hand at me, a gold band on his ring finger. "Dude, we're going on three [years] already. She presented me to her folks as the one before we were out of collège." He smiled and tugged at his lapels. "Unlike Ladybug, I knew when I had a good thing from the start."
“It sounds like you are lucky to have a good relationship with your in-laws,” I said to Carapace. “Do you know if Ladybug and Chat Noir are equally blessed?”
The Turtle Hero cocked his head, “Sort of?” he said, sounding not quite sure. “Bug’s folks absolutely adore Chat. Have as long as they have known him. Chat’s folks...” Carapace shrugged, then gave an exaggerated shudder. “I’m not sure they do more than tolerate anyone but themselves.”
"So, how did they end up untangling their crossed romantic wires?" I asked.
"LB finally worked up the courage to confess to Chat's civilian side. He had given up on him and Ladybug being more than ‘friends’, and was ‘trying to move on.’” Rena added the air quotes to Carapace’s statement.
“They went out for like, two whole months before Ladybug decided to reveal her hero identity," Carapace continued, his grin growing wider. “Chat promptly revealed his [identity]. It took her another month to stop freaking out. Chat just glowed like he had swallowed a Christmas tree."
"She did not ‘freak out'," Rena said. "Ladybug was just upset that she had hurt his feelings unnecessarily."
Carapace leaned toward me and whispered loud enough to be overheard. “She freaked out.” Then he straightened. “We thought for a bit that she might actually break up with him out of guilt for turning him down for so many years. Especially--” He cut off as Rena placed a hand on his shoulder.
“Well, it's been fun,” she said, “but we have to get back to our public.” As she took Carapace's elbow, he saluted me with his glass and the two heroes moved off into the crowd. They were met with handshakes, hugs, and the smiles of adults and children alike.
