My piece for @lovinglawzine! It's completely free and available to download right now! There's two zines, >SFW< and >NSFW< and both are full of Law love 🤍🐯 (did I mention it's free?)
[ READ ON AO3 | KO-FI | COMM INFO ]
—————
The first time Law noticed the red cord tangled around his little finger, he dismissed it. He was still deathly sick from amber lead, the brutal loss of Cora-san painfully fresh on his mind, and some strange thread couldn’t be anything but a hallucination. After all, he couldn’t even touch it and it didn’t lead anywhere his hazy eyesight could see. What else would it be except something his exhausted mind had made up?
The second time he noticed it, Law accounted it to still not being used to his devil fruit. It was barely the third time he had managed to successfully conjure up a Room—as he had decided to call it—and it was still wonky, still clumsy, still unstable. He couldn’t see any strings on his hand or anywhere else when he wasn’t using his powers so there was no way it was really there.
The third time he noticed it, he inadvertently remembered a story his mom used to tell him and Lammy. A story about a Red String that connected two fated lovers, two people who were of one soul, never to be complete without the other. Soulmates, so to speak. He disregarded the thought immediately for being too unscientific and ridiculous.
The sixth time he noticed it, he decided he had to be losing his mind because now he could see a red string on everyone who entered his Room.
The twentieth time…
The twentieth time he barely even noticed the strings tangling in the snow underneath his feet anymore.
—————
After eleven years with the power of the Op-Op Fruit, Trafalgar Law could confidently say he understood how it worked and what it allowed him to do. He could remove people’s organs without hurting them, he could perform near-impossible surgeries without so much as thinking about it, and he could do whatever he wanted within his Room.
And, despite his best efforts, Law couldn’t ignore that anymore either.
It took a lot of back and forth between Bepo and Penguin’s romantic mindset, and his and Shachi’s more realistic—or jaded, as Ikkaku liked to say—worldview. It took him years but in the end, Law had no choice but begrudgingly admit that his power also allowed him to see the so-called ‘Red String of Fate’, whatever that was.
Strings that weren’t so much red sometimes as they were on a scale between black and gold. Black—dark, charred, and dead—presumably for deceased partners. Red for disconnected strings. Gold for a string that found its other end—the second (or third or last) person sharing this bond. To this day, Law wasn’t sure how much weight he should be giving to it though. He had seen people with strings blood red, yet with wedding rings on their fingers, crying for their beloved wives and husbands while Law cut them in half with morbid fascination, uncaring.
On the other hand, he had encountered people with beautiful gold around their left little fingers… who seemed nothing but happy to meet their demise by Law’s unforgiving hands.
All in all…
Law didn’t care.
Least of all, about the red string that was still securely tied to his own hand.
Honestly, if he could, he would have burned it long ago. And boy, did he try. After all, what use did he have for a ‘fated partner’? What did that even mean? He didn’t know and he didn’t care. The only thing that mattered to him was Cora-san… and Doflamingo.
But, eleven years in, he had long since resigned himself to the thing being there to stay.
Not that it made any difference to him or anyone else.
At least, that was how it was for a long time. How it was supposed to be.
“You guys stay back. I’ll handle this,” Straw Hat Luffy announced as he, Eustass Kid, and Law took their stand in front of the Sabaody human auction house.
“No, you two stay back!” Eustass snapped back—raising to the bait like a child.
Law, on the other hand, stayed perfectly calm. “You tell me what to do one more time and I’m killing you first, Eustass-ya.”
“Just me, Trafalgar?” Eustass asked, shooting Law a look.
Law didn’t bother dignifying that with a response.
Not that there was that much time for chit-chat once the marines surrounding them from all sides broke out of their pathetic stupor and cannons started going off, shooting straight at them.
“Room,” Law said lazily, taking Kikoku out of its long scabbard. Nonchalantly cutting off the head of the nearest marine, Law quickly switched it with the cannonball hurtling at him, then caught the screaming head easily.
As he tossed it in his hand a few times, a smirk playing at his lips, Law wondered… how should he play with these rats? They didn’t have much time before an admiral would be on their asses so he couldn’t get too creative…
“Wow, your power’s weird.”
Law huffed, tilting his head to the side to glance at Straw Hat; there was a look in his eyes that was slightly curious… but mostly completely honest, almost innocent, but with a strange weight behind it that made Law freeze completely just for a second. It was the same weight, same intensity as when he had punched that Celestial Dragon, but at the same time, it felt completely different.
But, before he could decipher it or really think about it, the moment was over.
“Look who’s talking, Straw Hat-ya.” Law huffed in amusement, turning his attention back to the scrambling marines.
He called forth another Room just as Straw Hat dashed past him. Law wanted to roll his eyes at his impatience but then something else caught his eyes—a smudge of red trailing after him, flowing happily in the air as if to mark the path he took.
Inadvertently, Law’s eyes followed the string. He wasn’t sure why; maybe because it basically hit him in the face when he flew past, or maybe because Law hardly ever saw a string that wasn’t dragging on the ground, hardly saw someone with the other end of the sting being close by.
Or maybe, that too was fate.
As he followed the path of the string, Law’s eyes widened once his gaze reached his own hand. His own left little finger, where the other end of the string was tied snuggly… while a gold glitter started to spread around it.
No.
No, that couldn’t be right.
There was no way Law was tied to Straw Hat Luffy.
“You chickening out, Trafalgar?” Eustass called mockingly as he stole the swords out of the hands of the three marines that had attacked Law, the three marines that Law had completely failed to notice in his shock.
At least it’s not this fucking guy, Law thought to himself.
“Shut the fuck up, Eustass-ya,” he snapped back, then sighed deeply.
What was he doing? It didn’t fucking matter if Straw Hat was his ‘soulmate’ or whatever other unscientific, superstitious, childish word he wanted to call this stupid thing.
After all, what did he care? He never cared. Not once.
He had neither the time nor the capacity to waste on pointless ideals like love. He knew what love was. He had received love. And then he lost it, every single time.
His country, his city, his parents, his sister, Cora-san…
He’d lost all of it and now, nothing mattered—nothing but fulfilling Cora-san’s ambition.
Least of all, some reckless idiot in a straw hat with a smile that could blind a person, and passion that could burn down the entire world.
—————
When Law heard about the execution of Portgas D. Ace, he thought nothing of it. He was curious to know how it was going to end: who would win, how the world was going to change, where the delicate balance of power would tilt. He was looking forward to seeing it… but he had no personal interest in it—not in the war, the government, the Whitebeard Pirates, in Fire Fist, or anyone else involved in the fighting.
When Bepo asked him why they were going to Marineford, Law didn’t have an answer for him.
—————
Law was used to operating on people. He was a surgeon, after all. It was what he did.
It was supposed to be routine for him by now.
So why were his hands shaking when he stood above Straw Hat Luffy lying on the operating table, unconscious and bleeding heavily, his life escaping him with every weak breath he took?
Law knew why, but he refused to acknowledge it.
He refused to acknowledge the string hanging between them, the very same string that had changed colour from red to gold just days ago—now slowly turning black. He refused to think about it when he first saw the state Straw Hat was in, he forced himself to ignore it when he first created a Room around them inside the Tang, and he actively turned his eyes away whenever he checked on him while he recovered.
And now, as he sat on the shore of Amazon Lily, clutching the old, tattered straw hat in his hands, he fought with himself trying to not pay attention to the way his left little finger tingled, almost as if the invisible string was strangling its blood flow. Which was ridiculous; the string wasn’t really there, it wasn’t real. Law knew it was only in his head but even so, with every distant scream and every creak and crash of a tree falling, he felt another tug on his hand.
How long had this been going on?
It felt like hours since Straw Hat had woken up—since he started this self-destructive rampage.
At the back of his mind, Law wondered whether this was it. After all the work he had done, after spending two weeks saving his life… Straw Hat was going to kill himself. The thought bothered him more than it should have; his heart was beating at a nervous rhythm, his hands sweating and shaking just the smallest bit, his stomach heavy as if he had swallowed the rocks Straw Hat had shattered with his bare hands earlier.
He hated it. He hated feeling like this just because of a patient.
Clicking his tongue in annoyance, Law forced himself to focus on his surroundings. He let his eyes wander around the bay, taking in Ikkaku and Hakugan checking the outside of the Tang to make sure Straw Hat hadn’t damaged her anywhere, Bepo scribbling out a clumsy map to the side, Jean Bart chatting with Uni and Clione, telling them about his days as a captain of his own crew. They all seemed to be having fun…
It left Law feeling that much more stupid for being so nervous—so scared.
How pathetic.
“Whoa!!”
Law startled at Shachi’s sudden call; inadvertently, he looked his and Penguin’s way—the both of them were looking at the sea just off the shore, pointing and shouting about sea kings fighting. As if that was so strange in the Calm Belt.
Still, Law watched with them as the creature struggled, sending violent waves across the water surface in its pointless fight for dear life. It didn’t stand a chance and for a moment, Law wondered just what kind of monster was out there, and if maybe it was going to turn its eyes on the Heart Pirates next. Not that he was worried—rather, a fight might distract him from his thoughts, and from the pirate who was fighting for his life and sanity behind him; so close, yet so far out of Law’s reach.
It didn’t take long for the fight to end and oppressing silence to settle over them. It was like no one even dared breathe as they waited for something to happen. Something, anything…
Except for what did actually happen.
“What a nuisance…”
Both Law and his crew could only watch in stunned silence as a regular human emerged from the water, climbing up the rocks that made up the Amazon Lily’s shore line as if he had just gone to take a quick dip on a vacation instead of fighting a Neptunian in the middle of the goddamned Calm Belt.
Maybe it wasn’t too much of a stretch to call him a monster anyway.
“D-Dark King Reyleigh?!” Penguin cried, the first one to break out of his stupor.
“Oh, it’s you guys. We met at the Auction House, right?” Dark King noted as he casually wringed water out of his clothes.
“Why—how—?” Clione stuttered.
The Dark King huffed. “My ship sank in a storm so I had to swim the rest of the way. It was more taxing than it should have been, I’m really getting old.”
“Storm?” Penguin repeated. “This is the Calm Belt, just how far did you swim?!”
“Anyway,” Rayleigh said, completely ignoring the question in favour of turning to look directly at Law with an unreadable smile on his face. “I’m assuming Luffy is on this island somewhere, isn’t he?”
The question was so simple… but it was as if lightning ran through Law’s body. His breath hitched in his throat, his heart beating a pace faster, his grip on the straw hat tightening. How did he know? Did the navy know too? Were they safe here? What did he want with Straw Hat?
Law wasn’t stupid. He knew that if the Dark King wanted to kill Luffy—or any of them—there was nothing any one of them could do to stop him. No one on this island was a match for this man.
A beat of silence passed while the two of them eyed each other, before Law took a deep breath and spoke up, voice carefully measured. “And if he is?”
At that, Rayleigh laughed. It wasn’t mocking—a genuine, light laughter, one that finally helped Law relax, knowing that there was no immediate danger from him.
“You’re quite protective of him, I’m glad!” Rayleigh noted after a moment. “I was wondering what the feared Surgeon of Death wanted with Luffy but I see I didn’t have to worry.”
The smile he gave Law this time was so amused, so knowing, that Law suddenly felt incredibly exposed. It was like this man could understand everything about him and Straw Hat, and about Law’s motives; things that even Law himself didn’t know.
He hated the look.
Clicking his tongue in annoyance, Law finally looked away. “He’s here. Unless he manages to reopen his wounds and dies.”
“Wonderful! Thank you for taking care of him. I’ll take over from now on.”
"Why?" Law asked before he could stop himself, or at least try to keep his unfounded hostility out of his voice.
And once again, laughter was his response. "Oh, did you intend to keep Luffy all to yourself?"
Law startled at those words. Suddenly, as if doused in ice-cold water, Law was brought back to reality—the reality where Straw Hat was just some pirate he had barely met once, where Law had his own life, his own mission which allowed for no attachments to anyone or anything.
The reality where he had no reason to stay.
Ignoring the painful pang next to his heart, as well as the sharp tug on his little finger—imaginary, it wasn't real, there was nothing there—, Law gave the hat in his hands one last look before he closed his eyes momentarily and sighed.
“No,” he said simply as he finally stood up to his feet. “Two weeks of absolute rest, minimum.”
The Dark King didn’t say anything for a moment, merely studying Law’s expression as if he was trying to cut into his brain and pick him apart, but before Law could snap at him to stop, the man nodded. “Alright, thank you.”
With no reason to linger anymore, Law tossed the straw hat at Rayleigh, not sparing either him or the hat another glance. “Let’s go.”
“What?!”
“But captain—”
Law cut off his crew’s protests with a single glare, one that made them all deflate and shuffle to the sub without another word of complaint. He could hear Shachi and Penguin whining quietly to each other about having to leave the Maiden Island without even getting to properly talk to a single girl but he ignored them, choosing to focus on their departure.
Briefly, he wondered whether he should have waited to at least say goodbye to Straw Hat… but he knew that if he waited for him, if he had to look into those huge, expressive, beautiful eyes that were so full of energy and passion and life… he wouldn’t be able to say it.
Wouldn’t be able to leave.
And Law knew, he knew he needed to go now.
He had no right to stay by his side, after all—not when Straw Hat was injured, broken, and suffering, not when Law could do nothing about it except stop the physical bleeding. Not when Law himself was already broken, his path set for him since eleven years ago—a path that led to nothing but destruction, and which would have Law leave eventually regardless.
It was better for the both of them like this; to part ways before it was too late.
Before either of them could do something as stupid as falling in love was.
—————
That was two years ago. During that time, Law had managed to forget about Straw Hat Luffy—forced himself to pretend he didn’t see the golden string on his left hand, to act like he didn’t know who it led to. Focusing on his mission, on Joker, Law lived his life without looking back at those eyes and bright smile.
But now, Straw Hat Luffy was standing in front of him in the snow of Punk Hazard, bright and beautiful and oh-so-warm and Law…
Law knew.
He knew he wouldn’t be able to pretend anymore.

City Of Dust - OP Modern!AU
Hi guys!
In the last few days one of the AU, which I post here, has become unexpectedly popular. I mean One Piece Modern!AU, of course, so I'm going to talk a little about it here.
I made this story with my best friend, Kago (she's a cool artist, check her blog @kagolag), but we work together only on LawLu part, so I'm the only one here who you can blame for the terrible approach to other stories in this AU.
As you can see, this AU is called 'City Of Dust'. It's modern story, where street bandits are instead of pirates, so most of the One Piece crews is gangs here. For example, we have Mugiwaras to talk about, yep? Luffy, of course, is boss. He lives with his brothers, Sabo (who's studying to become a lawyer) and Ace (who's one of the capo of Sira Hige's Gang), in an old hangar on the edge of town. They're young and poor, but they're family and they care for each other. Zoro is underboss - Luffy's loyal consigliere. His dad owned a Shinto Temple called Shimotsuki, and his mom was an underboss in a gang too. But Zoro lost his family when he was eight years old, and Mihawk found him in the Shimotsuki and got sole custody on him. So Zoro is a swordsman like Mihawk, has a motorbike like Mihawk, and, besides he's a bandit, he's headhunter like Mihawk. Sanji is a young chief in his own small eatery called All Blue. He's Zeff's beloved son and pupil, but Zeff forced him to leave Baratie so Sanji could pursue his own goals and create the best restaurant in the city.
Are these all characters you've already seen? No, I think you possibly saw Law, so I have to tell you about him too, right? Law is not a gang's boss, as you might expect. He works for Doflamingo as Corazon, but against his own will. He do it because Doflamingo holds his foster father, Rocinante, hostage. So Law follows all Doflamingo's orders to keep Cora safe. Law is a great surgeon, and he dreams of escaping with Cora-san, become free and spend his life as a regular doctor.
Unfortunately, all text content in this AU is written in Russian, but I will post drawings, scetches and concepts in English here, so you won't miss anything. And to find all of City Of Dust content in Tumblr you just need to check #OP_CityOfDust hashtag (you can click it under this post). If you have any questions about this AU, please, feel free to ask me about it in this blog. And thanks for your attention!

I got a wonderful New Year gift from @perfusio !! I'll say again what I told him when I first saw it...
NAKAMA EVERYWHERE 🤩
Tumblr media
It's such a lovely collection of beloved characters 😍 And I really love some of the details :
Buggy wearing gold jewelry ✨
Vivi and Nami together 🥺
Robin's extra arms and hands hugging Franky ❤
Zoro wearing Luffy's straw hat 👌
Law pretending to stay aside but still close to the others 😌
(And is he smoking ? Oh Cora-san your son picked that from you🥺)
Chopper standing on Yamato's shoulders 🤩
And their smiles... all of them 🥰
Last but not least, the fact that they're all facing towards the viewer makes me think of The Last Supper... but in a much more wholesome way... (Party Before) The Last Island, then ? 🎉
I love it so much, and with permission, I'll use it as my new banner !
Thanks again Perfusion, you're such a cool dude 🥰

also i wanted to post my take on the eternal youth surgery after 1084 on here because i like it a lot and it's made the whole concept less of an annoyance to me writing-wise (oh, hey, yeah, you can just kill yourself and i'll be immortal, this is such a good use of your devil fruit powers bc they benefit me) especially since we now know...
... that devil fruits are people's dreams
I think the eternal youth surgery is a labor of love in that it requires so much constant effort and precise care that the surgeon dies of exertion at the end. For example, a week-long operation where you individually operate on each part of the person, and once you start you can't stop until it's over or it fails. I really don't think it's just a 'I'm gonna kill myself and now you miraculously never age or die of natural causes' bit. It probably spread as a rumor that way, but I would hope the actual operation is less cut and dry.
I think this because, one, it'd add an interesting dimension to Imu having the surgery done on them and, two, it'd tie very nicely into Law's character and backstory- this operation that could kill him being a labor of love... It mirrors Cora-san very well. Plus, the operation is going to come up again, Law is a beloved character, and this is a battle manga. I think him being able to complete this extensive operation and survive would be in-line for Oda. Especially because we now know devil fruits are the manifestations of people's dreams. Who dreams of killing themselves to benefit another person? Not a lot of people. But dreaming of gifting eternal youth to someone you love? Now that's pretty common
anyway.
"look how they massacred my boy" is sending me lol

@musicalpriestess (aka datentm) asked: today was a special day to the heir prince of briar valley, as it was the day that his beloved was born into the world and graced his long life with excitement and new experiences. even though cora would be most opposed to any attention directed towards her, malleus would be remiss if he didn’t have a celebration of her birth on this day. even if he couldn’t have a grand party in her honor, she compromised with a small group of close friends of theirs. nevertheless, malleus would pull cora aside to present her the gift he had for her. ‘ happy birthday, cora, my dear. i know you don’t usually have something as this but i thought it fitting, nonetheless. ’ he handed her a small, blue velvet case that hidden inside was an intricately shaped multicolored gem that hailed from his homeland upon a beautiful silver ring. ‘ you may wear it upon your finger, as a necklace, or however you wish. but this gemstone is much like you, a multifaceted person of wonderful colors. ’
Tumblr media
most wouldn't go too far for cora, someone who was the type to sneer at you just for looking at her. even for her birthday, there were fewer students who approached her simply to congratulate her just because it was mandatory...and those students were from her own dorm. some of them gave her gifts, sure, but they weren't too much - not that she cared much, either...some, however, would be more excited for this day than she was, ever. one of them was malleus, himself. it was odd to have the prince of briar valley try his damnedest to throw a celebration for cora, despite her obvious reluctance, but hey...if she managed to come back from the dead, then anything is possible.
Tumblr media
in the end, cora went along with a small party at ramshackle, with those closest to them in attendance ( it was mostly malleus' usual group, sans for silver and jamil who were her friends, oddly enough ). while everyone had a merry old time with each other, she was pulled from prying ears and eyes by malleus to be given a gift of his own. color her curious, this time around, as she takes the case with small hint of wariness. ❛ hahhh...this is gonna be something way over the top, i just know it. ❜ it just fit his nature, after all.
once opening it, cora is rendered silent when gazing upon the unfamiliar gem, it's many colors glazing upon her eyes and simple design of the silver ring clearly surprising her. well, damn, so much about her "over the top" comment, she thought to herself before looking back at malleus with a small scoff at his following comment. ❛ you sure got an interesting take on "wonderful colors", horn boy...what's next, i'm some kinda rare gem, too? yeah, right... ❜ she chuckles mid sentence, small smile creeping along her lips. if you looked closely, you'd see small hints of pink dusting her cheeks, as well. ❛ well, whatever, i'll hold onto it, maybe put it on my computer desk...dunno if i'll ever wear it, jewelry's kinda not my thing, but...i guess it looks beautiful. ❜ pausing for one moment, cora looks back down at the ring...this time, her expressing seeming only a tad gentler - the look only someone who ever gave a damn for her would ever see. ❛ ...heh... thanks, malleus...~ ❜
happy (belated) birthday, cora (19/07)!

AU Where during the Grey Terminal Fire Ace, Luffy and Sabo all find themselves falling through time right into the middle of the Oro Jackson and the Roger Pirates back before Roger was even declared the King of the Pirates. The Roger Pirates are rightfully flabbergasted by the sudden appearance of three whole children from seemingly thin air but sort of just shrug it off and go ONE OF US after figuring out that asl have nowhere to go (Much to Shanks and Buggy's delight of not being the youngest anymore). Then they learn that these boys are time travellers and they're like holy shit that's pretty cool but we should probably hide your guys identity since we're pretty sure if the world government found out all three of you as well as your future sleeves may be in danger.
Eventually after much angst(Ace) and much suspicion, ASL come clean about themselves and slowly but surely integrate themselves deeply into the Roger Pirates. Then they find out that their time there may just be limited, that something was trying to draw them back to their original timeline much to both ASL and the rest of the Roger Pirates' ire. If they have anything to say about it not even the god's will be taking their three youngest away from them.
----------------------
Featuring: Idiotic but loveable Dad Roger, Cool and put together Uncle Rayleigh, Comical yet fiercely protective older brothers Shanks and Buggy, A tightly knit family in all but blood Roger Pirates, Badass mother of the year Rogue, Whitebeard who may or may not have an incredibly strong urge to childnap his mortal frenemie's new children, A Marine Hero who just about gets an aneurysm when his rival allows even more godamn children onto his pirate ship and last but certainly not least a very confused and traumatized blond giant of a child who seems to have become playmates with his adoptive dad's number 1 enemies adopted children (Now now Rosi, Ace Sabo Luffy go and play somewhere else the adults have some business to attend to *sengoku and Roger say while they glare at each other and crack their knuckles*)

I'd love to see how you think some of the boys (particularly Kid, my beloved) would react to their so being taken hostage by marines.
Hi!! I loved this request! I included Kid, Law and Sabo, just because I don't usually write about him. I hope you like these HC!. Thank you so much for reading! ♥
~ Eustass Kid, Trafalgar Law & Sabo reacting to his S/O being captured by Marines ~
Tumblr media
Eustass Kid.
At first, when Kidd hears about you being captured by the Marines gets somehow angry at you. He shows to his crew mates how annoyed this makes him feel, but he is for sure going to rescue you.
Despite yelling about how weak and stupid you were, when he is alone on his cabin he is scared, scared as hell. He is worried, up to the point his eyes blur with tears. You, you are his precious darling. “What is going to happen? What if he is not able to rescue you? Are you ok? Are they making you suffer?” Those questions flood his mind and drag him to a very dark place.
The only one that might be allowed to see him cry is his best friend, Killer. No one else could hear him, because “he is a true man, and men don’t cry”. Killer listens to him in silence, until he tells him that is enough with the crying, that he is the cruel captain, Eustass Captain Kidd, and that his crew and him are going to destroy every single marine, Marineford, Impel Down and even Mariejois if it's necessary.
He doesn’t think about a plan, he has just decided to burn the whole world down, and so he does. His devil fruit power seems to awaken and his Conqueror’s Haki becomes even more strong. If they were planning on kidnapping you to attract Kidd to them they got it, but not as they wish. His rage is so high he destroys everything, leaving everybody unconscious and some even dead.
When he finally gets to you, he stand in front of you and first thing that comes out of his mouth is “WHY THE FUCK YOU LET THEM CAPTURE YOU?”. You know that despite those rough words, his eyes show how happy and relieved he is when he sees you are safe and sound. Killer slices the kairoseki shackles, but since you are still a little bit weak, Kidd carries you over his right shoulder and runs to the Victoria Punk.
Once everybody is safe, and you two are left alone, Kidd can’t keep his “strong man” role anymore and hugs you while tears come out from his eyes. “I’m sorry, I didn’t protect you, this is all my fault”, he says. You know he is not guilty, so you simply kiss his forehead, brush his red spiky hair and tell him “it’s all right baby, I love you”. ♥
Tumblr media
Trafalgar Law.
When Law hears the news, he stands still for a second, he does get a little angry but he instantly runs to his room. His mind has begun to plan a way to rescue you in a matter of seconds. He is also evaluating possible reasons why you’ve been captured, and he knows it is probably a trap.
No matter how much Heart pirates yell at him, he won’t let them get off the submarine. He is a loner, but mainly he does it because he doesn’t want to risk his family, it’s enough with you being in danger.
His plans are always a mystery, but evaluates everything in so much detail that nothing could go wrong. Yet, he is afraid of failing.
He doesn’t show any emotions -as always- but deep inside is slowly dying, this makes his past come alive again. The fear of losing you just like he lost his family and Cora-san, haunts him, but doesn’t distract him from the implementation of his master plan.
He is driven by intelligence and extortion, instead of physical violence. He blackmails a few marines, and with a simple “Room… Messu”, he has the heart of his opponents on his hand. “Give me back my girl/boy/x/friend, and I’ll give you back your hearts”. And the marines, that fear him the most, I mean, he is just not a “supernova”, he is the cruel, sadistic, scary, Surgeon of Death, Ex-Shichibukai, Master plan of the Rocky Port incident…
You are back, maybe he even made some allies there… who knows?. But you are safe and sound back at the Polar Tang and now he is ready to teach you a lesson. He is mad at you, really mad. But a simple smile could melt his snowy heart and what follows next is a cuddle session. And the first hug shows you how scared, how afraid of losing you he was, no need to speak when it’s about you and him ♥

Sabo.
As Sabo being the second in hand of the RA, you are targeted by a lot of enemies, mainly Marines. And sadly, in order to protect your friends, you let them capture you. When Sabo received the news, his world caved in. Luckily everybody else in the revolutionary army calmed him down and they were able to elaborate a plan to get you out. After all, marines are way too stupid compared to them, so rescuing you was easy peasy.
Yet, even if they help you out and you come back safe and sound, he will be feeling bad for at least two days after. It doesn’t matter how many times you tell him it’s not his fault, he feels guilty for not protecting you and so he will cling to you for the next few days giving you sweet kisses all over you.
There will probably be future little fights with him, because he won't let you go to any mission for a long, long time. Eventually he would let you go, as long as he goes with you.
Sabo may look like a possessive and controlling guy, but you know it is because you are his everything, so he won’t let anything bad happen to you ever again.

Day 12 ● Quality Time
Getting Law to go to sleep were the best nights, finally you could snuggle with your boyfriend and see his boyish features at rest. Sometimes if you were lucky and stayed up, you could hear him talking in his sleep, muttering something about you or his beloved Cora-san.
Tonight was one of those nights, you had managed to coax him to bed, running fingers through his messy locks at he slept on your stomach, arm wrapped around your frame.
“They love you.” It was a quiet whisper, but you could still hear him in the dead of night, the only sound coming from the sub’s generator and ocean surrounding you.
“Who does?” You were curious to what he was dreaming about now, sometimes it would be nightmares, other times it would be about his annoyance with Strawhat Luffy.
Feeling him frown on your skin, you stifled a laugh waiting for him to speak, apparently you should have known the answer, damn you for not being in his dream world.
“My parents, idiot, don’t make me say it twice.”
Oh, that was new. You didn’t recall him dreaming about them much, if he dared to share his dreams with you. You were sure this was a rare occasion that should be saved for years to come.
“Really? I’m glad, tell them I love them too.” Hearing a tsk, you giggled more, enjoying your boyfriend getting embarrassed even in his sleep. It got quiet once more, you figured his brain moved on to another dream or perhaps he was finally in deep enough slumber.
“Thanks.”
Petting his head once more, you got comfortable, letting your own sleep overtake you, perhaps you would dream of meeting his parents, who knows. “Anything for you.”

Tumblr media
There was something incredibly lonely about waking up in the mornings alone.
When the rays from the sun peeks through the curtains, and the chirping of birds sound more like nails scraping against chalkboard than a daylight tune, Law finds it hard to get out of bed. It wasn’t the first time, and it surely wouldn’t be the last. Still, he manages.
The scent of freshly brewed coffee and the sound of Bepo’s pattering is enough to wake him up in the mornings, most days. He’s thankful that today is one of those days.
It’s 8:42 in the morning when he receives a text.
It’s from the group chat he has with Shachi and Penguin- it’s unusual for them to be up this early. They’re wishing him a ‘Happy Birthday,’ and it’s only then does he remember what day today is. Scrolling up, it seems this was the second birthday text. The first was sent exactly at midnight.
Why did you send it twice, he wonders sipping on his coffee and sending back a ‘Thank you,’ message. They respond moments later, saying how he’s too formal, and that they’ll be telling him happy birthday for the rest of the day- something he very quickly shoots down. Unfortunately for him, he knows his friends don’t take 'No,’ for an answer.
He doesn’t tell them how he’s secretly grateful that they were so hard-headed.
The weather is good today.
There’s a slight breeze, only strong enough to sway a few hairs, and the sun is playing hide-and-seek, popping out every couple minutes to greet passerby's before going back behind the clouds.
This is the time he takes the harness off of Bepo and allows him to run and play with the other dogs. Despite being so big, Law would argue that he’s never met a bigger baby.
“Don’t run too far,” he ruffles his fur, earning a happy bark in return before the white mass scampers off.
He could still remember the first time Bepo had ran off and gotten lost. It wasn’t too far away from home, not even a ten minute walk, but the poor thing was frightened, shaking near some bushes. Thankfully, every since then, he’s always stuck within view.
“TORAOOOO!”
There goes my morning, is the only thought that passes as he’s tackles to the ground.
“Shishishi!” Law would swear up and down that Luffy needed a leash way more than an actual dog. “Happy Birthday!”
“Thanks,” he groans, trying, and failing, to push the younger male off of him. Where does he get all this strength from? Eventually, he gives, and falls back on the ground. There was no use in trying to get him to let go, and he surely wasn’t going to do it voluntarily any time soon, so what was the point?
“Need help there, Traffy?” The snickers of Luffy’s two brothers ring prominently in his ears. Of course they were enjoying this- if you hadn’t told him that the three of them were actually adopted brothers Law would accept that they were all blood related.
“Get him off,” he seethes, watching as Sabo casually lifts his younger brother up by the collar like a cat. He only barely manages to regain his balance when Ace comes next to him and roughly slaps his back, grin wider than ever, as if he didn’t just give someone a seven-inch bruise.
“Happy birthday, dude!” Thankfully, Sabo’s a little nicer.
“Any special plans today?” The blonde asks, still holding onto his brother who’s desperately trying to flee from his vice grip to no avail.
“None,” he answers. His friends have enough energy for today that he feels like there wasn’t a need to expend his own. “I’ll take Bepo on a walk, visit family, then go back home.”
Despite his rough tone, they don’t seem to mind. “Well then,” Ace makes his way to join Sabo. “I hope you have a good day then, we should get going. It’s was nice seeing you.”
He rubs his back, half-heartedly agreeing with that statement before walking back to the bench. For some reason he felt like today was going to be a long one.
The door opens with so much force Law swears that the hinges would need to be replaced later.
“Big brother!”
He smiles, as he always does around her. “Morning, Lami.”
“Don’t ‘Morning, Lami,’ me! You didn’t respond to my text message this morning!” She huffs, puffing out her cheeks and settling both hands on her lips. “But who cares about that,” her frown is replaced as quickly as it came with her signature smile. Her hands reach out to grab his and drag him inside the house, Bepo and all. “Mom and Dad have been waiting for you! Cora-san is here, too!”
“Cora-san?” He repeats. It wasn’t that he wasn’t happy to see him, quite the opposite, but given the clumsy nature of the man Law had to wonder how, and if, did he get here unscathed.
“Yeah! Uncle Doffy drove him over.” Ah, he cringes, that explains it.
Stepping into the room felt stifling. Not in a bad way, of course, but the amount of love that fluttered through the air and glided right towards him felt surreal. This happens every year, but he could never get used to it.
“Law!” His mother and Rosinante both stand up from their seats at the same time. Lami dodges out of the way, moving to sit next to Doflamingo- how she could stand that man was beyond him. “You’ve grown so much since I last saw you!” The older male ruffles his hair.
“You saw me last month, Cora-san.” He moves out of the way from his uncle only to get trapped in the arms of his mother.
Her words are as gentle as her touch, and he doesn’t mind admitting that he likes being held by her. “Happy birthday, Law.” He gives her a gentle squeeze back.
Their hug doesn’t last long, only a couple seconds, but there were other people in the room, restless to congratulate the celebrity of the day. “Why don’t you come sit down?”
He would like that.
It’s late night when he finally arrives home again.
It’s been a long day, just as he had thought it would be. From visiting family to friends tackling him on the street, to getting dragged out to celebrate at the Baratie for lunch- there was no denying that he was grateful to have such supportive people in his life, but perhaps they were just a bit too supportive.
He barely manages to fish the keys out of his pocket when the door opens.
“Law!” A flood of calm washes over him. “Welcome home!”
He doesn’t say anything as he steps inside and takes off his shoes, finally releasing Bepo from his harness. You don’t say anything either, content with simply standing to the side and waiting for him to finish his tasks.
There was something so fulfilling about coming home to someone waiting for you. How they’ll greet you back every time with a big smile and open arms, urging you to come closer.
“I’m home.” He mutters, burying his face in your neck.
“Tiring day?”
“Yeah,” he appreciates the strokes to his hair.
“I’ve made dinner.”
“Do you mind if we take a bath first?”
“The food will get cold.”
“That’s fine.”
You chuckle, “alright.”
He hums, but doesn’t let go. Just a bit longer.
“And, Law?”
“Yeah?”
“Happy Birthday.”
