insomnia — kang minhee

according to kang minhee, you sleep too little.

ever since moving in with your very amazing and insanely tall partner, kang minhee, he always comments on how sleepless you look each day.

while you would agree, with how much work you have to do. yeah, you could stop painting all day but do you really want to? no. even if your up at three in the morning, it doesn't really matter to you.

it matters to minhee though.

minhee doesn't necessarily have to wake up in the morning to go to work, but you know he likes to get a full nights sleep, so seeing him awake at a time that you were awake was odd.

"y/n?"

"yes?"

"insomnia again?" he inquires, he knew you struggled to sleep, you hum as you narrow your eyes, a small groan of frustration escaping your lips as you realized you used the wrong color.

"yep" you whisper, staring at the colors as your eyes go back to the painting again. "i think i may have used the wrong color" you say.

"what are you painting?" minhee asks, gently placing his hands onto your shoulders as he tries to figure out what the painting is supposed to be.

"a garden" you reply. "i mean— i've started it, but i don't know which flowers to paint".

"what about tulips?" he suggests, and you tilt your head to look up at him. "you like those".

"those are kind of hard to paint.."

"you painted a literal cruise once, y/n" he states in a very deadpanned way, you chuckle and shake your head at the words.

"alright then" you sigh, pouting. "now i have to change the canvas".

"why do you..?"

"because i already got halfway through the painting and i prefer yellow colored tulips so now i have to start all over because it has to be perfect—"

"alright y/n" he squeezes your shoulder, and you laugh. you place down the other painted canvas, you'll use it for something later, you picked up a new blank canvas and placed it onto the easel.

"minhee why are you awake?" you ask as you begin to paint what you intended to.

"because you are" he says simply, somehow now having a cup of hot chocolate in his hands. you narrow your eyes at the sight, not even knowing where he'd gotten hot chocolate.

"where'd you get that?" you ask, staring at him for a moment before turning back to your canvas and beginning to paint the surrounding bush. "i want some.." you mutter.

"magic" he says in a tone of excitement, looking like a little kid, or seongmin whenever he gets chocolate. "how do i convince you to go back to sleep?"

"you don't".

"y/n" minhee whines, pouting as if he was a baby and not a 20 year old man who was 6'2. "if you don't get sleep then i'm gonna lose sleep over you losing sleep".

"then stay awake with me" you say, turning to look back at him once again. minhee blinks, like he wants to say no but genuinely can't.

"fine then" he says. "i will, i'll supervise your painting" he places the cup of hot chocolate down and places his hands onto your shoulders once again.

"i appreciate that" you say, minhee simply smiles and nods as he observes you paint.

he'd give a lecture on why sleep is important in the morning—

and maybe you'd actually listen then.

if you enjoy hearing some words of affirmation, hyeongjun will make sure to remind you that you're doing a good job and that he enjoys having you in his life. it happens especially before you fall asleep, as he strokes your cheek and whispers small affirmations. but what he likes the most is when you do it to him. pat his head and tell him that you're proud of him and he will fall in love with you all over again. you also like communicating through notes around the house, when the other is sleeping or showering and you keep them all in a box in his room.

despite his busy schedule, hyeongjun will always make time for you. if you two have a day-off, he'd love to go somewhere with you; whether it's to an amusement park, a café or a museum. if you only have the evening for yourselves, you two would stay in to play videogames or watch movies, to cook and bake or to order takeout. it doesn't matter what you guys do because he just enjoys being in your presence. it's not uncommon for you to sit next to each other without a word to do your own work. note however that it is very likely that he will get distracted and he will take you down with him.

hyeonjun is big on physical contact and he will most of the time express his love through it. holding hands when going on a walk, resting his head on your lap and you resting yours on his shoulder, casual kisses throughout the day when you guys pass by each other, finding yourselves in each other's arms after a long day. he will definitely use physical touch when he can't seem to express his words through words and if you two get into a argument, the first thing he will do is hug you silently.

hyeongjun will absolutely make time for you if you need his help or if you need him to get something or do something for you. he always reminds you to call him whenever you need help and sometimes you call him to do something that you could definitely do alone but none of you complain because you know it's to spend time together. he also really appreciates when you run errands for him because of his busy schedule. he enjoys coming back home to see that you've bought his favorite drink and done the dishes.

hyeongjun thinks about you so much that it's becoming worrying. wherever he goes, if he finds something that you'd like or that reminds him of you, he will buy it immediately. and you don't have to wait for any big occasions like birthdays and anniversaries to receive any gifts. when you see each other, especially after a long time, both of you will blurt out "i have something for you" at the same time. the type of boyfriend to send you photos and websites links with "what color would you like?". every piece of clothing that you've bought him has become his favorite.

summary : You remember seeing him in the night while you were drunk and wasted. It was also the night your friend died right in front of your eyes. ⋅ notes : wrote this a long time ago for the super duper coolest serim stan to ever exist even tho her ult is jwon ;D im surprised i wrote this knowing i hate crime related things. also just putting out there i got inspo from this one comic i read so shout out to the person who wrote it 💪

00:23. You stayed up late at the police station, looking through files of a murderer. This wasn’t any typical murderer with a record of homicide and a few attempted murders. He was successful with his attempts and manages to get away. The team has been looking for him high and low for the past four years. No one knows his name, his face or how he gets away with murder. Everyone simply knows he comes out when the moon comes out, anywhere.

You remember seeing him in the night while you were drunk and wasted. It was also the night your friend died right in front of your eyes.

It was twenty past two. You left the club with your friend, your arm snaked around her for balance. She asked you to watch her back on her blind date in case she gets drunk. Little did you know, you were the one who got drunk while she was ditched. She sat you down on the ground behind the bar, grabbing your purse to pull out your phone. She dials your boyfriend to pick you up but no answer.

You wished you were sober so you could quickly make your way to the club when she said that you and her should stay at the club so neither of you would get killed. You saw a shadowed figure behind her and before you could warn her, the blade of a cleaver was pierced through her chest. She collapsed, and her blood painted your hands.

Your tears mixed with her blood but you could still see the shadowed figure. He steps forward and reveals himself — a man in black coat and a trilby that covered his face. He stood right in front of you. “Shh, don’t cry. I won’t kill you if you don’t tell anyone,” he whispers as he tries to comfort you with your words. His voice taunts your brain up to this day. It was the only sound you didn’t like hearing.

He crouches down to pull the body away from you as you find your phone on the ground to call PD. He doesn’t stop you, but all he had on his mind was hiding the body, escaping and you. After he hid the body in the dumpster, he waves to bid you goodbye. “It was nice meeting you, hopefully we can meet again!” he exclaims before running off into a dark alley. By the time the police arrived, you were already passed out.

All you could remember was waking up in the warmth of Serim’s arms, comforting you as you cried all day. You blamed yourself for the death of your friend. Although you told your colleagues what happened, you never once saw him again and you doubt he’ll ever kill you.

So here you are, analysing each and every information in the files. Each piece of paper taunts you in a way. You’re close to finding him, and he knows you’re close. And once you’ve reached him, you’ll put him where he belongs — even if it means you have to sacrifice your own lif—

BZZT.

Your phone makes a sound during your little analysis. Looking over to check, they were messages from your boyfriend, Serim.

Serim : have you eaten yet?

Serim : let’s go on a midnight date ! i’m waiting for you in the car

You smiled while your heart melted.

You : i’d love that <3

You put back the files in the drawers and grabbed your belongings as you head out. His car was parked right in front of the station and hurriedly went in. The moment you entered his car, he gave you a few pecks on the lips.

“After this, you should really rest,” he says, patting your head. As you fastened your seatbelt, you noticed you were stepping on some sort of fabric. You lift your feet up and grabbed the mystery fabric. It was a hat but realization hit you. It wasn’t any typical hat. It was a hat that belonged to someone who’s been ridiculing you for years. Why is it in your lover’s car? Serim didn’t notice you found the hat while he was driving. But the moment he parked near a restaurant, you connected the dots.

The love of your life was the one who scarred you for life.

he watches in awe as you babble on, endless topics spewing from your pretty lips that he so badly wants to kiss but he holds back. a soft smile grows onto his face, his cheeks turning a beautiful love-filled hue as you look up at him as if you were awaiting his answer.

you tilt your head to the side, the silence calm and comfortable. his whole face turns red, embarrassed for making you wait. "i-i'm sorry, could you say that again?" he asks bashfully.

a giggle bubbles from your throat, hand linking with his as you pull him along the floralscapes. "i said, do you mind taking a picture of me?" minhee nods, i mean, how could he say no when you asked so nicely?

you pose amongst the flowers, putting them to shame against your beauty. both of you grin from ear to ear like a pair of lovesick fools, a dreamy sigh floats past his lips as his thumb continuously taps the camera button.

"so pretty," he mumbles quite loudly to himself. your face is caked with a humorous expression, "sorry, i didn't mean to say that out lou—"

"it's okay, you're pretty too," you smile up at him before looking down at your phone and scrolling through the pictures. minhee feels his heart drop to the floor, a flurry of coral flushing his cheeks.

yeah, he was definitely done for.

✶ summer.

you play with the mushy sand between your hands, patting and stacking the grains into something that closely resembles a castle as you attempt to distract yourself from the sizzling sun.

looking up from your masterpiece, turning your gaze over to the peacefully sleeping boy next to you. he's laying on his back, sunglasses covering his sleepy eyes.

"of course he took a nap! when has he ever not taken one?" you ask yourself jokingly. you crawl closer into the shaded area where he lay, watching the way he twitches every now and then.

the soft rise and fall of his chest is almost hypnotic when you finally reach him up close. you sit beside him, slowly taking off the sunglasses to fully see his face.

brushing more pieces of his platinum blonde hair out of his eyes, he stirs around before getting comfortable again. you laugh at how his face scrunches up, his nose crinkling and his lips turning into a soft pout due to you disrupting his sleep.

you let him sleep for a little while longer, the sound of the waves and wind whipping past you and relieving you of the swarming heat. time goes by slowly, the sky slowly forming into a cotton candy palette.

minhee stays the same, the noisy beach-goers not even close to swaying his slumber. you press featherlight kisses upon his face before whispering to him, luring him into consciousness.

"mini, wake up," you say softly. nothing but an adoring smile on your face, eyebrows raised as you watch his eyes flick side to side under his eyelids.

not long after, he opens one eye to give the person who bothered him a piece of his sleepy mind. his angry expression quickly fading to one of love as his eyes land on your hovering form.

you laugh at him, his whole reaction reminding you of a toddler who had gotten their toy taken away. "morning, my love!" you say sweetly before chuckling.

"how can i get you to stop napping like this?" you ask jokingly, tracing random shapes upon his bare chest. his laugh is throaty as he rubs the sleep from his eyes, "hm, how about a trillion kisses?"

you groan at his flirting, "deal." you leave a soft peck upon his lips to shut him up, but it's not like he was complaining.

✶ fall.

the unexpected rainy weather had muddled your date plans, so with no other option, you both decided to stay inside and enjoy each other's company.

you hear soft padding against the wooden floors, "here, honey," minhee mutters softly. you turn around to see him holding two mugs, you wonder what's inside them. as if on cue, he speaks up.

"it's hot cocoa, kinda feel like it's the perfect weather to have it," he says with a shrug before jutting the mug out for you to grab.

your stone cold hands quickly grab the harry potter themed cup, chilly fingers warming up. you hold it close as minhee takes a seat opposite of you. placing your legs atop of his as he uses his free hand to graze his fingertips against your shin affectionately.

your gaze is stuck on the window that's littered with droplets of water. the pitter-patter somewhat soothing despite it being the cause of your plan's downfall.

"i wish we could go out," you say dejectedly. sighing, you look back at the messy-haired boy, "are you saying that you'd rather be outside than cooped up with little ol' me?" he asks with mock offense.

a snort fills your tiny apartment, "oh, knock it off!" you start, "that's not what i meant and y'know that." minhee nods along before placing a hand on his chest dramatically.

"i never thought you'd hurt me like this, y/n. out of all people!" he whines before placing his mug upon the window sill and cradling his head in his hands.

you laugh at the little show he's putting on, "wherever you go, i'm right there with you. end of story." you say sincerely, taking one of his hands in yours and kissing the back of it.

minhee giggles at the ticklish feeling, before shyly smiling and returning the kiss on your nose.

"you missed," pointing at your lips with a cheeky smile slapped onto your face. minhee chuckles at your straightforwardness before leaning in and placing a soft kiss where you had asked.

✶ winter.

the biting winter weather causes you to snuggle into your puffer jacket, hands stuffed in your pockets in search of warmth.

minhee watches you shiver as you take a late night stroll along the han river, a frown automatically finds it's way to his lips. he scoots closer to you, wrapping an arm around your hunched shoulders.

"any better?" he asks, you nod sheepishly before muttering a soft 'better'.

you lazily throw an arm around his waist, pulling him closer with a cheeky smile on your face. you'd be deemed crazy if you were to pass up on the opportunity to have your lover closer to you.

"it's freezing," teeth chattering with every word that was spoken. your voice was soft, almost like a whisper as minhee laughs due to your frozen state.

your pout grows, removing yourself from lanky limbs. your footsteps stop, leaving you stationary. he whips around, looking at you in confusion. "stop laughing at me, i'm cold!" you say with a frown, crossing your arms.

minhee rolls his eyes, "so dramatic!" he walks over to you and envelopes you into a bone crushing hug. "can we stay like this?" you ask, sighing into his chest.

you feel the rumble in his chest as he speaks, "wouldn't want it any other way, sweetheart."

butterflies erupt in your stomach, you face being shoved deeper in his chest as you grow embarrassed because of his words.

"aw, is my honey shy?" he coos at you, lifting your head to look at him. forefinger and thumb tucked under your chin as he leans in for a kiss.

minhee's hands fly to your hips, rubbing soft circles as his kisses never let up. you pull away gently, opening your eyes to see him chasing after your lips. taking mercy on the tall boy, you leave a few pecks along his face before leaving the last on his lips.

"i love you," his voice small and only for you to hear. he leans his forehead against yours, eyes closed in content.

though the cold weather already flushing your faces in soft strawberry hue, the color grows deeper due to his affectionate words towards you.

there was this air of enchantment swarming you two, the feeling becoming addictive as you both stay still in each other's arms.

"i love you too," you whisper to him and only him. he hums in acknowledgment before leaving a kiss on your head. "not as much as i love you though," he jokes, his gaze coming back to yours.

scoffing at his challenge, "yeah, sure you do," you say sarcastically before smiling up at him. your laughter grows as you stay huddled together.

his laughter fades while you continue giggling to yourself, hands coming up to cover your face. minhee watches intently, and despite the cold, dreary weather, your presence reminds him of sunlight.

your aura reminds him of a honeycomb gold, your laughs drawn out because of him. you were perfect, everything he's ever wanted in life. god, you were the love his life and there was no doubt about it.

two years of the earth traveling around the sun, your love wasn't even close to being swayed by the seasons.

this is what love is.

calling cravity to ask why things didn't work out

inspired by the videos from the cut channel on youtube! and a little based on my vity as exes post too hehe

serim

he is so surprised to see your name on that screen. you guys probably hadn't talked to each other in a while aside from when u run into each other when out with friends, if that. the question kind of takes him aback but not really? i feel like if things weren't really resolved between the two of you it'd just always feel kind of like a cloud floating above your heads, just waiting to be addressed. he's reluctant but honest with his answer. takes blame wherever he feels like he has to but that's about it.

allen

he'll be super pleasantly surprised by your call if things ended in a cool way omg. he's so nice and kind about it too like, even after the question has been dropped he'll keep it light-hearted and short and sweet. doesn't want things to get heavy or dark or anything like that so he just does that on his end in hopes that you'll be okay with it too. the question caught him a lil off guard but he'll assure you it's all good to be curious about it and that he wonders about it sometimes too lol but that's about the extent of it. i don't think the question alone will be enough to like make him want to give things a second chance or anything like that and especially not through a phone call... if the thought has seriously and consistently crossed his mind before he'll ask you if you want to get coffee and talk about it sometime

not really surprised by your call 'cause jungmo is the poster boy for exes who stay friends in my opinion, or at least courteous. he is going to be surprised by your question though, but in a much more hm... 🤨 kind of way. like.... does this mean you miss him? do you want to get back together? i feel like he's going to give his answer based on his own questions about it, to try and figure out what you really want out of this. will act like he forgot all about it and it's no big deal but it'll be in the back of his mind every time you guys interact again for a while

thinks you're calling him by mistake and answers it all formal and polite. when u ask him what went wrong with the two of you he genuinely asks you if you have been drinking. he's rather monosyllabic with his answers and either goes straight to the point of the breakup or is honest and tells you he doesn't know, or that it was just a combination of many, many factors. wants the conversation to end as soon as possible and doesn't ever wanna talk to you again after that. it was just too much for him for a random tuesday night

oh just the call showing up on his phone screen is going to make him so smug it's insufferable jesus christ. but then he won't let you speak until he's asked how you've been, what you've been up to and how your family's doing so it's like oh. this is actually really nice. not really surprised by the question as much as he is surprised you're the one to ask it. probably takes a few seconds to think about the nicest and most polite way he can put this and is really roundabout and sugarcoating w his answer just in case u get upset. gets really curious as to why you're bringing this up now and won't stop thinking abt it for the following weeks

no cause he doesnt even know who is calling like 😭 deadass hits you with the "who?" when you say ur name. (he might mean it, he might not. you'll never know.) when u clarify it he's just like "ah" and then Silence. kind of doesn't really believe his ears when u hit him w the question and his first answer is like "you know why." like he really doesn't want to get into this. if ur insistent tho and he can tell u need this and ur being serious and not just doing this to mess with him or start some shit i think he'll consider being open and honest. won't budge on his answers though and honestly won't give it much thought after a couple of hours. like Yeah that was Strange but that's about where it ends for him

the SECOND your name pops up on that screen his whole life is flashing before his eyes. he picks it up all nervous and coy 'cause ?????? what the hell is he supposed to expect from this?? when he says hello he's about to pass out and he wonders if you can hear that through the phone. honestly probably the one to actually get into it and get a bit emotional and turn a quick phone call looking for answers into an hours-long conversation. he will be so emotionally moved by this he might actually ask if you want to get back together by the end of it

taeyoung

literally that one guy from the cut videos who answered his ex's call with "ur alive???". taeyoung's the 2nd poster boy for exes to friends (slow-burn, 500k words) so he'll be absolutely used to talking to you and doesn't suspect anything. when u hit him with the "what happened to us?" he'll be like lmaoo what do u mean what happened to us ur so funny. doesn't take him long to get serious with you and quit the joking though, he's very honest with his answer and very open about his vision of the breakup. doesn't really place the blame on either of you even if you were the one to fuck everything up, for example. he's still going to do everything he can to assure you that it's all good and well, forgiven and in the past. just like jungmo and hyeongjun, he's curious about this sudden behavior and is open to talking about getting back together. if you want to, he's open too

seongmin

no answer 'cause you're blocked lollll no but fr, if ur lucky enough to still be able to reach him, he's going to be frozen after the question. probably asks you to repeat it a couple of times not bc he's not sure of what he's heard but bc he's just having a hard time believing this is really happening. probably stalls for a couple of seconds (or minutes) and then says something like "i don't really wanna do this right now..." and politely ends the call. the thought is going to be stuck with him for days afterwards

CLOUD WATCHERS.

“I’m bored.”

You sigh. “I know since you feel the need to remind me every five minutes.”

“Because I’m bored!” he reiterates in an overly dramatic tone. “We’ve been here for over an hour. How long does it take to stare at some clouds?”

“Hey, they’re not just some clouds!” You sit up a little to lightly punch his arm, laying back on the grass right after. “Use your imagination! Come on, look at that one. What do you see?”

You point your finger to a random spot.

Minhee squints as he glances up at the sky, puzzled. “I don’t know, kind of looks like a cat giving birth.”

You click your tongue. “How poetic.”

“Thank you.” He gives you a lazy, lopsided grin, his eyes squinting from the sunlight. “Also, do we have to be in the grass? Couldn’t we have set up a hammock or something?”

“I’m starting to see why Serim doesn’t invite you to his family camping trips anymore.”

He shrugs. “You’re not wrong.”

Though he’s your best friend, Minhee has never taken much interest in your hobbies and vice versa. You were far from polar opposites; the two of you just simply didn’t engage in any similar past times.

But ever since he got you to join him and the boys for a night of karaoke, you’ve been begging him to give your interpretation of fun a try in the hopes that he’ll enjoy it too. At first, he thought cloud watching couldn’t be that bad since he usually liked things that required minimal energy, but it didn’t take him long to realize that it just didn’t really click with him.

Now, some weekends he’ll force himself out of bed in the morning to sit in his backyard and stare at the sky to see if the experience will feel any different. It never does.

Though one day when he passes by the park on a jog and finds you by yourself in the field, he sees just how adorable you are. The way you appear so lost in your own world, softly humming a tune under your breath. The way you react when he calls out your name as you turn your head to look at him with a soft smile.

He’s undeniably infatuated by your serenity.

Minhee still doesn’t understand any of the joy that could possibly come from watching a bunch of clouds, but if he were to think of something, at least they reminded him of you.

[05:40] "well, why don't you just tell them how you feel?"

"as if it was that easy in real life" you said, taking a deep breath in and sighing. for the last hour you and your best friend, woobin, have been trying to figure out how you should confess to your crush, but even with all this time, the two of you still found no good way of doing that. "we're not in a romance movie, you know."

"it would've been so much easier for me to help you if you just told me who they are" the boy stated, continuing to draw random doodles in the notebook in front of him "that way my brain could actually work properly and we would find a way within minutes."

"wait, you have a brain?" you joked, trying to change the topic, but woobin quickly caught onto your poor attempt, just shaking his head with a small smile.

"i actually do, unlike some." he said, the remark making you roll your eyes. "and that brain of mine tells me you're trying to shift the conversation so you won't have to tell me who's that secret person you've been obsessing over for the past, i don't know, three months? come on, i'm sure it can't be bad."

you kept quiet for a second, trying to contain your thoughts. woobin was your best friend, he was always the one you would run to with any gossip about people you disliked or any of your monthly obsessions, as well as your crushes. he was always very supportive of you; he helped you get ready for dates, brought you your favorite snacks and arranged movie nights for the two of you when someone broke your heart. he was the closest person you had. so why wouldn't you tell him?

well, it was quite obvious. because the one you liked this time was him.

"i guess i'm just" you started off slowly, taking a break mid sentence to drink some water "afraid of your reaction."

woobin looked at you with his brows furrowed "please tell me it's not taeyoung, or else i swear to god, i'll eat you alive."

his comment seemed to ease your stress a little, making you laugh in the process as you shaked your head no. "well, for a person who claims he has a brain, you really are ignoring the most obvious option out there."

"well, enlighten me then"

you took a deep breath in, getting ready to actually confess to him "the one i actually like is in this room right now." woobin looked at you, pretending to be too dumb to understand what you just said. he thought for a second, before finally speaking up:

"your cat? damn, so many years of being friends with you and i had no idea you're into anima-"

"oh come on you know very well that i'm talking about you" you interrupted him before he finished his sentence, your eyes trailing to see your cat peacefully sleeping on the couch. look anywhere, just not at woobin.

"and i thought you were going to tell me something i don't know" the boy said, making you turn your head towards him, letting out a little 'what' in the process. "come on, we both know that you're the most obvious person ever" he added, his gaze focused on his notebook and the doodles he was drawing, as if he was completely unbothered by your confession.

"but you're also very lucky, because i feel the same."

winter had arrived and you were sitting peacefully on a bench at a park nearby your apartment. watching the snowflakes gracefully fall down from the sky brought a sense of calm and serenity to you. truth be told, you were waiting for someone. he was late, which was rare for him, but due to the pretty view of the freshly snow covered ground and pretty snowflakes... you weren't mad.

"I'm so sorry I'm late." the voice of seongmin made you smile and turn your head before you shook it. with a face like his, there was nothing that could ever make you upset with him. his cuteness and your bold personality is often considered a mystery due to how inseparable you two are.

"don't worry my love," you replied, extending your arm for him to grab so he could sit down with you. as he sat down you rested your head on his shoulder and held his hand. you smiled as he placed them in his coat pocket. "let's stay like this for just a little bit longer..."

the rainy night | jungmo

pairing: bf!jungmo x gn!reader

genre: slice of life, comfort, and fluff // warnings: brief mentions of anxiety

summary: Jungmo doesn’t take long to realize that you can’t sleep because of the thunder, so he does his best to help you sleep. // word count: ~700

note: It is actually raining quite bad here when I’m writing this and the rumbling feels like it’s shaking everything 😭

Most nights when you sleep with Jungmo, it takes less than 25 minutes before you fall into a deep sleep. Something about the warmth of his arms around your waist and your back against his chest is enough to send you into much needed sleep. Not to mention how soft your bed is, especially with his totoro plush.

Not to be biased but it is one of your favorite plushies that he has. Just when you thought he couldn’t get any cuter, he revealed that he had this plush.

You frequently take it with you around the apartment when he’s not home yet because it smells like him, but also reminds you of those late night video calls where he would just laying with it in his arms. Wishing that it was you and you wishing the same. Fast forward to a couple months later, you two moved in together. So now, he doesn’t use it as much because well you’re here now to actually cuddle with him.

Despite today being a long day for you, you just couldn’t sleep with the ongoing rain storm passing by. Not to mention the sound of the claps of thunder kept shaking and rumbling the entire place. They were constantly happening and with you not being able to effectively lessen the noise, you kept having to place your hands over your ears.

You and Jungmo still weren’t heading to bed yet but sitting in bed while on the phone. He had noticed that you would cover your ears as soon as lightning would flash across the sky and create a sudden burst of light that lit up the room.

And as one would guess the rumbling noise did shortly follow after the lightning struck the sky. Normally the thunder and lightning aren’t so bad but this storm was happening over the course of Thursday through the weekend, so it wasn’t going anywhere. Jungmo wasn’t sure what to do but it didn’t take long for him to notice that it was going to later become another problem if you were trying to sleep. Plus, he knows that you’re tired and would like to at least make sure you’re able to get the best rest possible under his care.

It’s the least he could do for you and knows you would do the same for him after a long day. He’s about to offer some sleep headphones before you practically jump on him because of the sound. Your heart nearly jumps out of its chest and is beating fast. It doesn’t seem to slow down until he grabs a hold of your hand to let you know that he’s here for you. Unsure if he can feel the heart beating, you do your best to take deep breaths and realize that everything will be okay & it’s just a little bit of thunder and lightning.

He starts to rub your back in hopes that it’ll help calm you down and whispers “I’m here and all will be okay.” Hearing his voice brings you out of your head that was racing back and forth about how the rain could bring a blackout or worse. Eventually, your breathing starts to even out and you lean into his chest.

“Are you feeling better now? We can always watch something so that you’re not hyper-focused on the rain!” Jungmo asks you with soft eyes.

You respond with a shake of head and respond to him with “Yeah, I am. Thanks for that and no we don’t have to watch anything. I think the sound of your heartbeat is more comforting right now. If you don’t mind, can I sleep on your chest tonight?”

“Of course, my love. Plus that just means I can give you more forehead kisses!”

You chuckle and a heartfelt smile graces both of your faces. Not long after, you fall asleep first as his heartbeat lulls you to sleep. When he’s positive that you’ve arrived in dreamland, he plants a kiss on your forehead and makes sure that you’re in a comfortable position, Jungmo closes his eyes with a peace of mind.
