❥Serim
Tumblr media
      Serim sat at the edge of the bed and watched as you paced back and forth across the multicolored rug you had picked out just a few weeks ago. You shook out your wrists and loosened your fingers as Serim slowly raised and lowered his arms trying his best to redirect your breathing.
      “In… and out… in… and out…” he tried his best to demonstrate and jog your memory on the techniques people had previously taught you. Today it was just taking a particularly long while.
      “What’s the point! It’s not working!” You whined, continuing to pace the floor.
      “It’ll work eventually, you just have to be patient.” Serim said.
      “I don’t want eventually, I want now!” You mumbled to yourself, now stomping your feet on the carpet. “This sucks!” You moaned collapsing to the floor and rapidly chewing at your nails.
      “It may suck but it’s totally normal.” Serim said “things are really hard on you right now, it makes sense to feel freaked out.”
      You groaned and clawed at your hair. Serim’s ability to remain calm in almost any situation where you felt like you were losing your goddamn mind was somehow both comforting and infuriating. “Oh. My. God.” You muttered angrily under your breath. You could feel the tension in your bones. It travelled through you and settled amidst each of your joints making you feel like a poorly made and fractured wooden doll. You felt internally rusted like the bumper on old car. “You’re driving me insane.” You whispered under your breath as quietly as you could.
      “I heard that y’a know.”
      You looked up from your crouched over position on the floor to see Serim standing up from the bed and coming over to crouch down next to you. His refusal and near inability to ever get mad at you was something that made you truly love him. It was one of the many reasons you had asked him to move in with you and pick new furniture, and appliances, and rugs, and so so so much more… but it was also something unfamiliar. You weren’t used to someone being so unbothered by all of your moods. You weren’t used to him not batting an eye when your whole body locked up. You weren’t used to someone immediately trying to take action and not running in the other direction when your ploys for stress relief became self-destructive. You weren’t used to Serim.
      However you had to start getting used to him quickly, because he had already settled in with most of his stuff. You looked at him as he looked back at you, not a trace of animosity in his eyes. Serim simply waddled over to you, hunched over in the same position. With one hand lazily strewn across his knees and the other slowly patting your head. “Are you sure you don’t want to try the breathing again, and I mean actually try this time.” He looked at you expectantly waiting for some kind of response. Like two frogs squatting on a lily pad you two both sat there in silence for a moment. A very long moment.
      You let out a long exasperated sigh and conceded “I’ll try the breathing exercises… again”.
      He didn’t do a very good job of hiding it but Serim did his best to conceal the fact that he was beaming on the inside.
      Later that night, the two of you had to sit down and have a long conversation about what it would be like living together. “As much as I love you and I want to be the one to take care of you, you know I can’t always be the one to remind you of what to do when you feel like you’re going to a dark place…” He said “Obviously I’m still going to be there for you… I just worry about what might happen when I’m gone for work or something” He confessed.
      “I know… and I don’t want you to worry about me. I just feel like I’ve been dealing with a lot lately and I’ve been taking it out on you.” Your voice was low and meek and you looked down while saying it. “I feel like I’m self sabotaging in more ways than one.” You admitted.
      “Well there’s nothing you could really do to sabotage our relationship.” Serim said earnestly reaching out a hand to grab yours and placing a gentle kiss on your cheek. “I just like you too much” he chuckled.
      It took a couple hours to get you to feel calm again. Serim had to pull your hands away from your mouth to stop you from chewing your nails down to minute nubs more times than he could count, but his ardent love for you would have him standing around and trying his best to keep your wits about you forever and ever.
      No matter how many breakdowns, or meltdowns, or freakouts he had witnessed it wasn’t enough to deter him from you because Serim knew that you would do the same for him. Despite your near constant refusal to take care of your own mental health, he had experienced all the times you had looked out for his. The many times you put his needs above your own made any attempt on your part to try and scare him away totally futile.
      Serim watched as you steadied your breathing, before taking out some of your frustration on all the cardboard boxes that needed to be broken down and taken to the recycling bin. Whenever it seemed like your blood pressure would begin to rise again Serim would simply give you a comforting hug from behind, resting his head between your neck and shoulders, humming softly; his aura just had a way of rubbing off on you. Did that mean that this would be the last time the two of you would ever have to have these sorts of conversations on these sorts of days? Absolutely not. But that din’t mean you couldn’t look forward to having them together…
❥Allen
Tumblr media

You had run out of tears long ago but that didn’t stop you from sniffling through belabored breaths as you laid on the couch. Of course Allen stuck close behind. One arm wrapped around your waist and the other propping up his head to get a better view of the TV.
      It didn’t take him long to realize you weren’t really crying at the cheesy movie splayed across the television screen. You were more wrapped up with something else. You swore it was nothing, and to you, that may have really been true! Sometimes you got emotional or overstimulated for reasons you couldn’t really understand, even if your boyfriend knew that there probably was some underlying specific reason. But the reason didn’t always matter, what mattered was how you felt in the moment, and right now you felt… well neither of you were quite sure how to feel?
      “What’s wrong?” Allen whispered into your ear as he pulled you just a tiny bit closer.
      “I really don’t know…” you said. You had been crying for so long that even if there was a reason for it in the first place you had forgotten it by now.
      Allen snuggled closer to you as you did the same. Melting into his embrace and struggling to trace back the reason for your sadness, you still found it cathartic to let your emotions take over once in a blue moon.
      Like a wave it washed over you at times though. You often had trouble experiencing your emotions but your emotions sure as hell had no trouble experiencing you. They had a way of taking you over that made it nearly impossible to focus on anything else while also making it incredibly difficult to pinpoint the triggers in the first place.
      No matter what though, Allen always had a way of bringing you back to Earth. His calm and gentle demeanor, and carefree attitude made it so that you could always be yourself around him. Even if that self you needed to be wasn’t very pretty at times, he was always there taking notes and remembering things on how to help you better cope with your feelings the next time, and the next time…
      Sometimes your big heart and structureless brain hindered you, sometimes they made life harder. But sometimes those things brought you to people like Allen.
      The first time you ever cried in front of him felt mortifying! You were a complete blubbering mess and yet he still wanted to go out with you.
      “Everybody cries” he had told you, no sense of irony in his voice.
      “Yeah but I cry like… a lot” you responded.
      All he did was shrug.
      Now here you two were, almost a year later and you were still a self prescribed crybaby. Though, Allen didn’t like it when you called your self that, he found it demeaning and reductive but he also could acknowledge that you did cry! A lot! Not that it made him like you any less it just made him want to look after for you extra hard.
      Allen lightly patted your stomach in a delicate rhythm making sure to not pull too much attention to the ways in which he was trying to comfort you. Of course he was letting you cry (or at least try to) for as long as you needed and he hummed softly in time with his small taps, subtly helping you focus on something other than whatever thoughts were running around up in your head. He really was helping, you just didn’t realize it. He was so good at helping without you realizing in fact, that it took him a good amount of time to notice that you weren’t awake anymore.
      “Hey do you want to maybe watch something else?” He asked no longer hearing sniffling and wondering if that would make you want to move on the something more cheerful. “Or do you want to… cry some more?” He asked quietly peeking his head over yours to get a good look at your face. “So cute” he audibly cooed seeing your puffy cheeks and eyes squished against the soft fabric of the couch with your mouth slightly agape. “You poor thing.” He said to himself with more affection in his voice than any sort of pity.
      Allen did his best to unlatch his arm from under you and move his legs that had found themselves intertwined with yours. He carefully wormed his way off of the couch and onto the carpet as quietly as possible. He reached an arm out to place it under your head and support your neck before pausing when you started fidgeting around again.
      You always were prone to talking in your sleep. “Allen…” you muttered unconsciously, repeating his name a few times before flopping over fully asleep and snoring again.
      Your boyfriend did the gentlemanly thing and supported your head before scooping you up and bringing you to his room. He made sure you were extra comfortable, covering every inch of you except the very top of your head in the biggest, fluffiest blanket he could find. You pawed at the blanket pulling it closer and Allen pushed some pillows into your arms as you began surrounding the pile of softness and fabric in your tight grip. You hugged them as if it were your boyfriend, none the wiser in your asleep state. Allen gave you a small peck on the part of your forehead that was still visible and quietly tiptoed out of the room.
He made sure to check on you every once in a while and rub your back or whisper something to you softly whenever you began tossing and turning again. He was used to regularly helping you fall back asleep when you had restless nights or night terrors so this was a walk in the park for him.
      The next morning you awoke to utter darkness before clawing your way out of the cocoon Allen had made for you. The sheer white curtains in his room billowed in the morning breeze as you rolled over and noticed a small glass of water and a little pharmacy bag on the nightstand next to you. You had no idea when he had the time to slip out and get those as it was still quite early in the morning but all that crying, and tossing, and turning always gave you the most viscous headache. You wasted no time in sitting up and taking the pain medicine from the little parcel and taking a big swig of water.
      A few minutes later the door to his room ever so slightly creaked open as Allen did his best to quietly shimmy through the doorway. “Oh you’re awake! Sorry I didn’t get breakfast or anything I assumed you’d be out for a little while longer.”
      You stuck out your bottom lip pouting and wordlessly outstretching both of your arms signaling with your hands for him to come over. He quickly complied, hopping up onto the bed and giving you a giant bear hug. He pulled back to look at you as more tears welled up in your eyes but these ones were more positive. You always appreciated how caring Allen was, how quickly he would move to help you without a second thought and without him, you wondered how miserable an entire nighttime of crying alone followed by a morning of throbbing headaches you had to deal with all by yourself would have been. You hugged him tightly, showing your appreciation the best you could as Allen leaned back to wipe some of the tears out of your eyes, worry fading and turning into a quiet chuckle as he realized you were now mostly okay.
      Allen looked over at his phone “yeah we’ve still got so much of the day left, do you want to sleep more?” You nodded and hugged him tighter planting a small kiss on his neck. “Do you want me to join you?” He asked.
      “Of course!” you chimed, voice still groggy but incredibly sincere.
❥Jungmo
Tumblr media
      Jungmo sat on the couch scrolling on his phone and playing with the collar of his tie as he waited for you to get ready. He hated having to dress up just to go to stuffy places and talk to a bunch of boring people and executives all night, but he had been invited to an upscale event and was required to go. At least he didn’t have to go alone, you were always down to join him in the things he found so boring, always whispering jokes and sharing drinks together in the corner of the room. He was excited to see what you would be wearing too! That was one of the few things helping him get excited for tonight. You were taking a little longer than usual to get ready but you also had an incredibly extensive closet and the biggest collection of accessories he had ever seen so he didn’t want to rush you. I mean, he didn’t want to rush you, but you guys were about to be of cutting it close if you took too much longer. “Y/N you almost done?” He asked walking over to the bathroom where you were supposed to be finishing up. “We can have like ten or fifteen more minutes but then we should probably g- Oh! You’re already ready!” He said barging into the bathroom and looking at you as your palms were placed flat on the counter and you stared into the mirror. “Wait, let me take a picture first, you look great!” He said excitedly.
      You placed your hand over his phone and gently pushed it down. You shook your head and sighed. “No I don’t…” you trailed off.
      Jungmo looked baffled. “What do you mean? You look amazing!” He said standing a little closer.
      “Well I don’t feel amazing.” You retorted.
      Jungmo took a second to take you in. He looked you up and down and then cocked his head to the side like a confused puppy. “Why not?” He asked. “I think you look incredible!”
      You bowed your head and let out an exasperated groan. “Something’s just off… I just don’t look right.”
      To him you looked breathtaking! Gorgeous enough to make him forget you two were supposed to be somewhere else in a few minutes time. “What’s off?”
      “Just like… all of it!” A sad expression plastering your face. You rolled your eyes a bit every time you caught a glimpse of your own reflection in the bathroom mirror and huffed in annoyance at a problem you felt like couldn’t be fixed. “I can’t let anyone see me like this…” you said.
      “I see you like this-“ Jungmo replied “and I like what I see.” He smiled.
      “Yeah but your opinion doesn’t count you would have said that no matter what.”
      “My opinion should be the only one that counts!” He said “Especially when you’re being way too hard on yourself.” Jungmo rubbed small circles onto your back in an attempt to encourage you. “Where’s all this coming from? Do I not tell you how good you look enough?”
      “You tell me plenty!” You scoffed “it’s just something about this outfit, something about-“
      “Then we’ll change the outfit. You’ve got plenty of stuff in your closet you barely ever get to wear!” Jungmo grabbed your hand but you stood still as a statue stopping him from dragging you away.
      “That’s easy for you to say… you look great in everything.” You looked down at the floor.
Jungmo pouted. “The only reason I look good in everything is because you pick out all my clothes for me. I’d look a mess without you” he laughed.
      You nodded your head in acknowledgment but still you weren’t fully convinced “maybe you should just go without me.”
      “Go without you, are you crazy?” Jungmo furrowed his brows in complete shock. “When could I ever- how could I ever go to one of these boring corporate events without you?” He boomed. “I’m your boyfriend! Either we’re both going or neither of us are going!” He said unusually sternly for his laid back nature. “It’s up to you whether you want to stay or you want to go but either way I’m doing it with you!” He said. “And if this is all just over one outfit that’s an easy fix. We can be late, let’s go pick something else out.”
      “Jungmo… I want to go with you I really do, but I just don’t want to drag you down…”
      “You have got to stop saying stuff like this” he said. “You look great! You always look great! Even if you’re not feeling great I promise you no one in the world can tell but you… and maybe me on a good day.” He joked.
      “You really don’t think I look awful?” You asked genuinely worried.
      “It’s be impossible for you of all people to look awful.”
      You sighed taking one more look back at yourself in the mirror. You still didn’t think you looked quite right and even just thinking of your reflection made you feel queasy, but if Jungmo thought you looked good then maybe you really did. You still wanted to change clothes though. The fabric all of a sudden felt constricting on your skin and it felt like a million tiny mites were crawling all over you. “Okay I’ll go change.” You said patting Jungmo’s chest and exiting the bathroom. He followed you out and to your bedroom where you began rifling through your closet looking for something else to wear that still matched your boyfriend and felt appropriate for the event. He stood there watching you for a moment.
      “Do you need any help?” He asked.
      “No, no I can do this myself. It’s more of a mental thing anyways, I won’t take too long” you replied. You looked back for a second as Jungmo was still standing there watching you “can you go wait for me in the living room?” He didn’t budge.“Jungmo! Go wait outside.”
      He looked surprised “Oh you’re serious.
      “Yes I’m serious, I’m feeling kind of self conscious right now…” you said in earnest vulnerability.
      “Why though, it’s nothing I haven’t seen befo- Ouch that hurt!” Jungmo said taking a wadded up dress shirt to the face. “Okay fine I’ll wait for you in the living room” he said trudging off and rubbing his eye in slight irritation.
      A few minutes later you reappeared into the common area of the apartment dressed in all new clothes. Jungmo smiled and clutched his phone once more. “Better?” He asked.
      “Better!” you said.
      “Now can we take a picture?” His eyes gleamed with hope as he swayed back and forth on the balls of his feet.
      You hesitated for a moment. “Yeah sure, why not.”
      Jungmo quickly grabbed your hand and raised his phone up to snap a few selfies of him kissing you on the cheek before you both rushed out of the door. He still made sure however, to keep a tight clasp on your hand and to check in every so often as to how you were feeling. Most importantly, he made sure to keep reminding you of how good you looked all night. Even if you didn’t see it, even if you didn’t believe, even if your mind tried to convince you otherwise, Jungmo made sure to always be there as a ‘pick me up’ to make sure you were reminded of the reality right in front of you. The reality of having a partner that saw you for who you really were and would never falter when it came to reminding you of that.
❥Woobin
Tumblr media
      You placed your hand on the arm rest of the passenger’s seat and tapped your fingers in quick and nervous succession as Woobin held your other hand and started up the car. He whistled along to the radio and swayed his head to whatever ‘summery’ ballad was currently playing and set up the navigation app on his phone in blissful ignorance.
      Since the weather had finally started warming up a mutual friend had invited the two of you and a few others over for a big get together. Though it was a relatively casual engagement, you still felt that all too familiar sinking feeling in the pit of your stomach. The feeling you got every time you were about to ride a roller coaster, give a presentation, get lost on a hike, or in cases like these; go somewhere with a whole lot of people. You pulled at and fidgeted with the hem of your pants, letting go of the arm rest and aimlessly searching for some sort of cord or loose thread to pull on. You swallowed harshly feeling a lump form in your throat as Woobin absentmindedly rubbed his thumb across your knuckles with his free hand as he began to drive.
      You could feel your heart rate rise as your body temperature did the same before quickly dropping again and again. You could’ve sworn you were sweating but turning on the A/C in the car felt like way too much. Your hands started to feel clammy as you looked over at Woobin who quickly glanced over to give you a warm smile before focusing his attention back on the road. His general sense of calm and the beautiful weather should have been enough to calm you down but it wasn’t really working. All you could focus on was the noise of tires scraping the road, the blaring music, the sunlight that was shining directly into your eyes, and how warm you felt. Or were you cold? You couldn’t really tell but what you knew for sure was that you did not feel good.
      You almost started to feel nauseous as the car grazed over a tiny pot hole and your vision began to fog over a bit. You felt dizzy like you needed to sit down, but restless like you needed to just stand up and run all at the same time. You wanted to say something, and every time you looked over at Woobin you were almost compelled to, but for some reason or another the words could just not escape your mouth.
      “Are you okay?” Woobin’s voice rang out a little delayed in your ears but eventually registering properly.
      You felt sick, you felt like garbage, you felt terrible! So of course you replied quickly “yeah I’m doing fine, I’m excited!” You said practically through gritted teeth, a cheesy grin plastered on your face. Why you lied? You had no clear idea. But what you did know was that lying to him made you feel worse.
      You chewed at your lip furiously as you often did when feeling anxious. You let out fast paced yet silent breath out through your nose and tried your hardest not to tap your feet in frustration. Your lips felt near swollen but you couldn’t stop biting. You bit, and bit, and bit until all you could taste was the metallic tasting saliva pooling on the tip of your tongue. Before you knew it, you were looking down as small red droplets dripped from the bottom corner of your lip and into the creases amongst woven denim of your pants “shit” you muttered to yourself. You just sat there and watched for a moment in a silent daze before speaking up. “Uh Binnie can we stop the car?”
      “Yeah sure. Why?” He replied quickly adjusting his turn signal and pulling over into the farthest possible lane without hesitation.
      As soon as the car stopped you turned to make awkward eye contact with your partner as he gazed in diluted worry at the beet red complexion of your lips. “What happened?” Woobin scrambled to grab some tissues out of the glove compartment and wipe at your face. “When did you start bleeding? Why didn’t you say anything earlier.” He said eyes darting around looking for a cotton ball, or a bandage, or anything of the sort. “Your jeans…” he said softly but still continued his frantic search.
      “I think I’m gonna pass out.” you uttered plainly, stopping your partner in his tracks. You watched his brown eyes widen like saucers and then fill themselves with a new sense of determination!
      Before you knew it you were sitting on a curb by the side of the rode near some convenience store somewhere. Woobin returned shortly thereafter with a cold bottle of water, a first aid kit, and some tissues. He wasted no time in fixing up your lip and taking some solvent from the first aid kit to wipe at the little stains on your pants. He worked diligently sitting on the curb next to you, an array of medical materials strewn about. Watching him so focused helped calm you down a little bit you still weren’t feeling entirely better.
      “Are you hurt anywhere else?” He asked nervously searching every inch of visible skin he could find on you.
      You grabbed his hands and looked him in the eyes. “Babe I’m okay now.”
      You could see the apprehension in the befuddled stare he gave you.
      “Really, I mean it. I’m okay now!” You repeated.
      Woobin swallowed a little bit and took a moment to gauge the look in your eyes before giving you a crushing bear hug and rubbing your back as you both sat on the ground by the car. “Alright I believe you” he said before letting go and giving you a second to catch your breath.
      You two decided to take a moment to enjoy the fresh air before getting back into the car. It really was a beautiful day out. There was a perfect amount of breeze and just the two of you sitting together made you feel much more at ease.
      You both enjoyed your time in the sunshine looking up at the sky and taking in the tranquil scenery. “Look at that one it kind of looks like a cuddly bear doesn’t it”. Woobin giggled pointing at a cluster of clouds arranged ever so perfectly in the shape of a bear’s head with two perfectly fluffy cheeks and round ears to match. Finally, the cars didn’t feel so loud, and the air didn’t feel so stuffy. Woobin pointed up at the sky while expertly unscrewing the cap and placing the bottle of water in your hands without you noticing.
      “Yeah it does, it looks a lot like you” you joked taking a swig of water and cooling down.
      About half an hour later the two of you had your fill of pointing out silly shapes in the clouds and had stopped back into the store to grab some well deserved treats. Re-positioning himself at the wheel Woobin took his phone off the dashboard and slipped it into his pocket.
      “What about the party, don’t you need the directions up still?”
      “Nah… let’s just go home, you’ve had enough socializing for the day.” He said clasping your hand once more and giving you a knowing smile.
❥Wonjin
Tumblr media
      “Alright… shower? Check. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner? Check. Room clean? Check-“
      “Do we really have to do this Wonjin”. You groaned loudly, leaning your head back over one of your dining room chairs as Wonjin sat across from you and peered at your contorted face through the top of the frames of his glasses.
      He took a deep breath “Y/N we really do.” He said clicking his pen and running it down the different elements of a check list.
      “It feels so… silly It makes me feel like fucking kid!”
      “Well it works doesn’t it?” Wonjin said.
      “Can’t we do something else? You know like a normal couple…”
      “We are a normal couple! We just have a system and the system works, so we have to keep doing it.” He replied not looking up from his official looking clip board.
      You sneered a little in response “Why though…”
      You and Wonjin had implemented a new process into both of your nightly routines where you would sit down and check off all of the necessary things you needed to do to function throughout any given day. Most of the things seemed intuitively simple but you and him both knew better than anyone else that one bad mood could send you into a spiral that prevented you from getting such simple things as grabbing the mail from your mailbox done once a week. If you were feeling down, you were dismal. It made it impossible for you to remember to take care of yourself when you had other things going on so Wonjin drafted up a list of some of the most basic things you needed to do each day. Things that came incredibly naturally to others but not so much to you. Wonjin made sure to get all the proper materials to make the process seem more legitimate to you. He got a special list typed up and laminated, dry erase markers for the fridge, brand new pens, a clipboard, sticky notes, and a tiny box full of trinkets and treats. You didn’t appreciate the machinations of his executive brain but that was okay, he was really proud of himself. He was especially proud with the box he had gotten. Not only would you get to reach in and grab a small reward each night but Wonjin would get one too if you completed all your tasks so that he could be more encouraged to help you. Not that he really needed any material incentive. This was something he would have done for you anyways, but making it a collaborative effort made you feel a little less alone.
      The rewards inside the box were quite small but they were still enough to round out the rest of your night very positively. It was mostly full of stickers, charms, small bills, and little slips of paper with things like ‘have dessert a second time’ written on them. It was a crudely decorated little contraption covered in glitter glue and plastic gems with a picture from your anniversary stuck to the inside. The gifts may have been small but they still managed to brighten you up a bit even if you felt childish having to be monitored so closely when it came to consistently achieving basic adult behaviors.
      You gave him a hard time about it but it really was helpful how Wonjin took the initiative in making sure you got things done. He got tired of always asking you about your day and not loving what he heard. At first you objected to the idea of a to do list being of any help to you and your mental health but it was frustrating how well it worked.
      Wonjin raised a single eyebrow and looked back over at you. “So I’m assuming you don’t want to pick anything from the special prize bin today?” He said.
      “It’s not a ‘special prize bin’ it’s a cheap wooden jewelry box from the craft store.” You said.
      “Well I’m gonna pick something from the special prize bin.” Wonjin made a big show of closing his eyes reaching into the box and rummaging his hand around in there for a while before pulling something out and immediately hiding it. He quickly hid his hands under the table and looked at something tucked away within his palms.
      “What’d you get?” You asked slightly disinterested but still leaning over the table to better see what he grabbed.
      “Uh-uh, no way. You didn’t wanna pick anything” Wonjin said sticking out his tongue at you. “Not my fault you didn’t want a prize.”
      “If I pick something will you let me see what you got?” You asked.
      “I don’t know…” he said “I think you deserve a prize but if you don’t think you deserve one that’s not on me.”
      “I don’t deserve a prize for eating dinner…” you bit your lip and looked down.
      “Of course you do! But I’m still not showing you what I got until you pick something…”
      “Fine.” You said reaching for the box. Wonjin excitedly cracked it open for you just enough to reach your hand in and mull around for something that felt… right. You dug around for a bit and pulled out a chunky metal heart charm. “Cute enough.” You said to yourself. “Now what did you get Wonjinnie?”
      Wonjin pouted and furrowed his brows. “Wait no I want to trade, you’ll like mine more anyways!” He said trying to grab the charm from you before you pulled your arms away.
      “Since when have we ever done that?”
      “Since now!” He said brows still fervently knitted together. Wonjin placed a minuscule figurine on the table and offered it to you. You weren’t exactly sure who or what it was, but you did recognize that it was a character from one of his favorite comic books.
      “Why would I want something that was so clearly meant for you” you asked. “All I got was some like.. brecelet charm?”
      “Just because.” Wonjin said, and you noticed his face redden a bit.
      “Okay, okay fine…” You said and handed over the charm.
      Wonjin would never admit why he was feeling so shy but he was glad you had just dismissed your prize and traded with him. If your eyes had been a little keener you might have noticed the small latch on the ‘charm’ you had picked out and realized it was actually a locket. Inside was a small picture of you as a kid smiling big, holding some sort of old stufffed animal. You hated looking at your childhood pictures for some reason, maybe because it brought back unpleasant memories, or maybe because it reminded you of a time in your life when you didn’t need a list to keep your mental stability in check, but Wonjin loved those pictures all the same. No matter how goofy you looked he loved them because he loved you and a little locket was the perfect gift to get him ready to this all over again tomorrow. Even if you whined and complained you just being here to complain, alive and well was what he really needed…
❥Minhee
Tumblr media
      Chores were always a thing that calmed you down, and as much as he might’ve hated doing them… Minhee loved you more.
      You hadn’t spoken a word to each other in hours. You were diligently refolding and reorganizing each and every single article of clothing in your dresser drawers, and closet. Why you had to be doing this on a beautiful Saturday afternoon he had no idea, but he was helping you anyway.
      The weirder, more tedious, and unnecessary a chore was the bigger the issue you were currently dealing with. Sure it was a bit of a drag to be spending and hour and a half washing dishes, or in this instance multiple hours folding and ironing clothes but he preferred this to the ways you would try to divert stress when he had first met you.
      Back then it would have been impossible for you to take breather without punishing yourself in some way but Minhee’s willingness to just tag along and do whatever you were already doing really helped you feel comfortable amidst the internal mayhem. For Minhee doing chores was a form of punishment but to you it was pure bliss.
      You would often have periods of time where you just couldn’t get words out, to anyone, no matter what they were or no matter why you wanted or needed to say to them, but as a quiet person himself, Minhee didn’t feel totally uncomfortable in the silence. He liked the way the two of you could just be together, existing in the same space simply able to enjoy each other’s company. For each of you the presence alone of the other felt so grounding.
      Minhee remembered a long time ago when you had told him that it was enough for him to just ‘be around’ and that made you feel better. It was then that his crush on you grew tenfold and he just knew he had to tell you about it. Of course he never did, he was too shy, but you guys had ended up together anyways!
      It was times like these, where he sat crosslegged in front of your tidy ironing board, creasing out only a few wrinkles on some your clothes, that he was reminded of how you truly felt about him without having to say it with words. Even when you were struggling and couldn’t find the strength to speak, the way your pinky would ever so slightly graze his when passing garments back and forth or how your eyes would shoot up and follow his every movement every time he got up to walk away.
      No matter what he would always say something along the lines of “Don’t worry I’m not going anywhere.”
      If Minhee said he’d be back in a minute, not even sixty-one seconds could pass before he would make his way back to you. It always broke his heart and simultaneously endeared him the way your puppy like eyes would wordlessly follow him around a room, or how still you’d sit upon waiting for him to come back. But he aways did come back, so you didn’t have to worry!
      Your fingers worked with an almost mathematical precision going through every t-shirt, every pair of pants, every button up, every pair of socks, everything! He never thought the time would come but eventually the two of you finished.
      It almost startled him when you spoke for the first time in ages even thought your voice was so soft and low. “Do you want me to do yours?” You asked genuinely, while placing the last piece of clothing onto a hook and shutting the closet door.
      ‘Could you be any more adorable…’ He thought to himself. “That’s okay Y/N” He said and walked over squishing your cheeks between his palms and peppering kisses all across your face. “Do you wanna talk about why we just spent four hours reorganizing your already perfectly organized clothes?” He cocked his head to the side and looked down at you. “-And why you want to do even more…”
      You looked down in shame “I think I just want to be distracted right now. I feel like I need to be doing something… just anything…”
      Minhee understood what that meant. There were times when talking was helpful and very necessary and there were other times were those conversations needed to be put off until later. Sure it tore him up a little bit inside that you didn’t immediately feel comfortable telling him what was wrong but he also would much rather you be keeping yourself busy and enjoying his company than locking yourself away. There were times when you would be so far gone that even if he physically shook you, you couldn’t reach him. There were times when the silence wasn’t a comfortable understanding but rather, a sinister creeping energy that loomed over the both of you stopping you from being to able to experience anything in that moment. Sometimes it scared him the way your mind could so easily take you away from him, but it impressed him all the more when you could pull yourself out. He was always with you every step of the way, charging uphill to make you feel better. And if what would make you feel better right now was going through all of his laundry then that’s what the rest of this Saturday would be made to do.
      “We can do mine… my hamper’s full of stuff anyways!” He said.
      “Thanks Minhee.” You said “Okay go get your basket, I’m already getting antsy!”
      You appreciated how easily he could flip the script and just go along with whatever you needed in that moment. “I owe you like ice cream or something…” You said trying your best to sound chipper.
      Minhee trudged over with his enormous pile of laundry and gave you a playful scoff “You owe me more than just ice cream. You owe me whatever four hours worth of food is!”
      You let out a small laugh “I promise I’ll wake up early tomorrow morning and cook you something that takes at least four hours to makes. You can enjoy your Sunday morning by sleeping in.”
      “Alright deal!” He said. Knowing full well that he would make himself wake up just as early as you so he could help you in the kitchen. “I’m toootally gonna enjoy sleeping in!”
❥Hyeongjun
Tumblr media
You absolutely hated work! Not just work in general the work that you had to do specifically. Coming home from a long day at your job always left you drained. Your boss was always micromanaging, and your coworkers loved any and all types of gossip at your expense. It didn’t help that you were the youngest in the office either. It was nearly impossible to stick up for yourself without later receiving some sort of reprimand in the form of extra hours with no extra pay. Almost every weekday had you returning home absolutely exhausted. You’d slip your shoes off at the door and lazily slip your work attire off piece by piece leaving a trail of clothes on the floor before taking a nice long hot shower. After your shower there was no guarantee you’d be energetic enough to make dinner so you’d rummage around in your fridge and just eat the first thing you saw. On particularly bad days you would immediately lay on the couch entering a state that was borderline catatonic. Some nights it felt like you only had time to lay on the couch for a minute and blink your eyes a few times. Before you knew it, the sky was a tiny bit brighter and the alarm on your phone was going off again signaling to you that it was now the start of another long day. Begrudgingly getting up and beginning to get ready was always incredibly difficult but very recently right before you walked out the door you would get a little text of encouragement every day.
      You had only gone out on about three and a half dates (one of them was cut short due to a last minute call from your boss) but Hyeongjun was already so in tune with your schedule. It might’ve partially been because you complained about work so much that he had just picked up on it that way, but his little digital pep-talks always had a way of putting a smile on your face even on the darkest of days. It’s like he sensed when a day was going to be more difficult than any of the others because his messages were always the sweetest the mornings right before you experienced hell.
      Hyeongjun made you feel like color had re-entered the world. Life had felt so black and gray for so long and you couldn’t remember the last time you had been excited to talk to someone. He was always cheerful but not too cheerful, empathetic yet discerning, reasonable but always kind, and he had such a way with words. You didn’t think you’d ever find another person who could find the joy hidden beneath all your sadness but Hyeongjun seemed like the one.
      Even though you hated work you also hated the one break from work you got during the day. Your lunch break was usually spent sitting alone in your car for forty-five minutes staring off into space and waiting for the day to be done. Whenever you felt down you tended to lose your appetite and that had been the case the past couple of weeks. You knew you should have been hungry and you almost were, you could tell from the way your belly would growl every once in a while. However, your brain and the rest of your body just couldn’t and wouldn’t just let you even stomach the thought of food. Sometimes you’d listen to the radio but other times you’d just sit there looking out the window but not really taking any of it in. Sometimes Hyeongjun would message you on your break to ask what you were eating or what you were doing to kill time and you couldn’t bring yourself to come up with a good enough lie, so you would just be honest and tell him ‘nothing’. It nearly baffled you how you could give him almost nothing, you could give him so little to work with and he could so easily keep the conversation going!
      You were sure today was going to be another one of those days. You sat at your desk entering some pointless data into a spreadsheet reminding yourself of one of the messages your crush had sent you that morning. You were already halfway through the day, you could do a few hours more right?
      Suddenly right before you were about to go on break you were hearing a series of little taps right above your head. You looked up to see Hyeongjun absolutely beaming at you, fingers gripping the top of your computer monitor. You looked around shocked for a second making sure that this was real. “What are you doing here?” You asked eyes wide.
      “I’m here to hang out with you duh!” Hyeongjun stepped around your desk to grab your bag and sling it around his shoulder. He took your jacket off of the back of your uncomfortable office chair and held it out as if to put it on you.
      There were a few odd stares from your work seniors but they didn’t pay the two of you much mind. You stood up and let the boy happily put your jacket sleeves over your arms and give you a quick side hug.
      Hyeongjun looked away shyly for a moment. “You seemed so bummed out over the phone yesterday I hope you don’t mind me stopping by.”
      You took a moment to think. Was it too early for things like this? Should you be more apprehensive? You felt uneasy for a moment but that feeling quickly dissipated as Hyeongjun flashed you a big toothy grin. “Of course I don’t mind” you said.
      Taking the elevator down was awkward in the same way sitting in class next to the person you liked as a kid was awkward. The butterflies in your abdomen danced and your stomach did acrobatic flips and Hyeongjun’s pinky inched closer and closer to yours before wrapping around your hand and holding it gently. He didn’t say a word but the way his lips pressed into a thin line to prevent him from smiling told you all you needed to know. You had no idea how he knew but a little bit of surprise and the slight change in routine was exactly what you needed to uplift your overall mood. Your outlook had been so bleak as of late and you weren’t sure who you could talk to about how you were feeling but you were pretty sure the man holding your hand right now was a step in the right direction.
      Hyeongjun would never tell you but he had spent countless night just laying in his bed thinking about you and researching ways to help. Even if you didn’t say it out right he didn’t need to be told directly that you weren’t feeling like yourself for a very long time. You were complex and he felt like there was still a lot more of you to unpack and he planned on spending the next forty-five minutes getting you to open up to him whether you wanted to or not!
❥Taeyoung
Tumblr media
     “I’m baaack!” Taeyoung shouted loudly hoping to get your attention as quickly and abruptly as possible. He thought it was sort of strange the way he didn’t immediately hear a response, but what he thought was even stranger was when he saw no tiny beam of light leaking out from underneath the bedroom door. Usually his sign that you were home was the little ray of light illuminating his feet as he approached your room but now it was just dark. Your shoes were by the door, keys hanging on the hook in the exact same way they were when he had left. Those seemed to be the only signs that you were probably even here. He went to quietly turn the doorknob tiptoeing and slinging his backpack over his shoulder to avoid the noise it made as it dragged on the hardwood floors. Maybe you were napping? It was getting dark outside but it was still only the late afternoon. Normally at this time, you were absorbed into a new book or something like that. However, upon entering the room things really were just as he had left them, you included. Curled up in the same amorphous blob, room pitch black, curtains drawn, phone plugged into the charger and resting on the nightstand. Taeyoung checked his watch to make sure the jet lag hadn’t completely screwed up his sense of time. He looked at the screen of his watch and then back at the giant mass of grey comforter on the bed. “Are you really sleeping it’s only like 4PM…” he said dropping his bag onto the now plush carpet beneath the bed and crawling up beside you.
      He sat up on his knees and peeked over the pile of a person next to him and gently shook the covers to see if you were actually there. He could feel your form underneath the blanket but you still didn’t say anything, no release of breath, no snoring, no adorable sleepy mumbles… nothing! “Hey are you in a coma or something” he huffed playfully “you’re normally way more excited to see me!” That’s when he heard a small groan from under the covers, for a second he could have sworn it was the creak of the floorboards but now he was sure it was a noise from you. “I didn’t mean to bother you I just figured I’d come straight here since it’s been a- Oh!”
      “Hey” you croaked out, voice hoarse and face mostly buried amid the covers. You turned one slowly to greet your boyfriend “How was the show?” You asked without the usual sense of genuine intrigue in your tone.
      “It was… good. How’ve you been?” He said reaching over to move a bit of the comforter to ruffle your hair and pat your head. “You haven’t been like this since I left have you”. He chuckled, the corners of his eyes crinkling in glee and then faltering a bit as you looked away and wearily bit your dry lips.
      “When did you leave again?”
      “You haven’t been like this since I left? Right?” a smidgen of worry entering his tone and then a currant of realization. “Y/N, really?” a mix of familiar disappointment and general unease wafted over your boyfriend as he scooted closer and sighed. “The whole time?”
      “I mean I got up to like pee once. I think…”
      “Why didn’t you call me?” Taeyoung let a harsh breath escape his nose before running a hand through his already messy black hair. “You could have at least shot me a text...” He said bleakly.
      “I didn’t wanna bother you.”
      “When could you ever even begin to bother me?”
      Your face contorted in shame and you sunk deeper into the soft fabric adorning your body. “I meant to at one point, I really did, but then I just… I don’t know-” You inhaled deeply eyes narrowing, brain struggling to focus on the task at hand, and heart struggling to connect to the conversation.
      “You know I hate when you don’t tell me when you’re feeling bad.” He said.
      “I just knew you’d probably try and like come home or something and I didn’t really feel like getting up to grab my phone.”
      “You didn’t want me to come home?” Taeyoung’s pupils enlarged slightly as he scoffed quietly.
      “Of course I wanted you to come home! I just didn’t want you to come home early!”
      “So you just laid down here in the dark for like-” He stopped himself as he felt his emotions bubbling over. You two complemented each other in that way but it also made things difficult at times.
      You were used to keeping things bottled up inside and Taeyoung was used to forcing you to talk about those things. Taeyoung was used to getting easily worked up and frustrated over the small stuff and you were used to offering some gentle perspective. He had a more aggressive approach to pulling you out of these “slumps” and it could come off as intense but he really just had no other way of showing you how much he cared. Sometimes he didn’t really get it. Sometimes he thought it would be so much easier for you to just get up, to just open the blinds, to just call him. It drove him crazy that he couldn’t be privy to all of the intricate machinations of your complicated mind. It Bothered him that a person so wonderful, so kind, so funny, and interesting, and charismatic, and personable wasn’t able to share that with everyone all the time especially with him. But more than bother, more than frustration, more than annoyance, or anger, or any other negative emotion, you had helped Taeyoung further cultivate his arguably most beautiful trait; his empathy. Sure he was still a little shit stirrer every now and again but at the end of the day, seeing you just as upset over something you couldn’t control, how your mind and body were at odds constantly telling you that the one person who loved you most in this world shouldn’t be bothered with your issues made him just want to help you the best he could.
      Taeyoung took a deep breath “Let’s go for a walk while the sun’s still out, how about that.” He suggested. “Also maybe shower first…”
      You wanted to object but as you mulled over your answer your boyfriend couldn’t help but reach his hands under the duvet to try and pull you out, tickling you in the process.
      “Okay, okay!” You laughed as Taeyoung giggled and continued to try and pull you out. “I can get up myself jeez…” You still weren’t feeling your best but the hopeful look on the man beside you’s face made you want to make him happy.
      “Sorry for raising my voice at you I just wanted to make sure you were okay and I freaked out seeing you so-”
      You cut him off “it’s okay, I’ll be okay. I’ve just been really tired and stuff. I should have called you.”
      “Next time…” Taeyoung said as you sat up and he tackled you into a tight hug. “Maybe we can even lay here together for a couple more minutes, better yet let’s just go on a walk tomorrow I’m tired too…”
❥Seongmin
Tumblr media
“Are you gonna be done soon…” Seongmin asked cheek pressed against the doorway and lips pursed in minor annoyance.
      More than annoyance however, he felt concern. His face squished against the wooden frame of the entrance to your makeshift office (the desk in the corner or your shared bedroom). Normally this would have been about the fifth time in the hour Seongmin would come over to disturb you while you were working, but this past week and a half had been pretty different. He had seen you like this before, completely absorbed in your work, tired and distracted… but now it felt more like you were purposefully over working yourself. You weren’t just absorbed in work but completely overwhelmed by it, more than tired you were utterly sleep deprived, you weren’t even really distracted you were just distracted when it came to him. Seongmin was pretty used to having your undivided attention or at the very least viciously demanding it. You found it cute the way he always wanted to be at your side making you laugh or just watching your expressions as you listened to a story he told. It was one of the reasons he loved you so much. Your willingness to include each other in just about anything the other was doing without it even really being necessary was what endeared him to you in the first place. But that made it all the more upsetting when you couldn’t or rather wouldn’t include each other in something.
      When you had started your relationship Seongmin remembered you telling him you were a difficult partner. That often times it felt like your brain would grow legs and start running faster than you could keep up. That you would just became physically and psychologically exhausted out of the blue. He thought it was silly how you would think your own personal struggles would deter him from wanting to be with you, but he quickly realized that even the brightest smile and silliest nudge in the right direction wouldn’t be enough to pull you out of a spiral once it started. It wasn’t impossible, not in the slightest, but Seongmin did really have to try. He had to try and be delicate with his words, careful with his actions, and very intentional about the way he would attempt to help you. He remembered you saying it wasn’t always about just trying to cheer you up but just noticing before things got too bad. Now he was noticing, and remembering the last time he saw you like this.
      “Do you want to eat dinner… or like… take a break?” Seongmin asked. Gentle voice ringing throughout the room and eventually echoing through the nearly silent apartment. “You know you have to respond to me eventually.” He huffed stopping before he got frustrated.
      All he got was a sort of muffled “sorry” from you in response as you kept clacking away at your computer.
      He slowly unstuck his face from the doorframe “is typing more important than me?” approaching slowly and cracking a smile he reached his arms out to not only try and softly grab your shoulders but also to steady himself while sauntering over the sea of loose papers and piles of books strewn about the floor. “I was making a gentle suggestion before but now I’m serious! It’s time to take a break Y/N!” Seongmin rested his hands at either side of you just beside your neck and placed his thumbs right by your shoulder blades. He used his remaining fingers to lift up your chin and straighten out your posture a bit. “You haven’t looked me in the eyes in like two days.” Adjusting your chin more he leaned over to look at you flashing his signature puppy eyes, dark brown and sparkling as you returned his gaze.
      You finally looked back at him letting him take in the bags under your eyes, visible even in the dim yellow glow reflected from your beat up desk lamp. “That’s a bit of an exaggeration isn’t it”. You said smiling dryly and stifling a yawn.
      “Not really…” His reply had tinge of genuine sadness to it but he tried his best to hide it with another smile.
      You spun around in your chair to face him better. “Sorry” you said again, this time a little clearer. “I just… have a lot of work to get done. Once I start it feels like I can’t stop.” You looked off into the distance, avoiding your partner’s eyes as you spoke. “I just feel like if I stop I’ll feel worse and I already have a lot of stuff to do so I just need to keep going, I just-“ you furrowed your brows and narrowed your gaze as if trying to remember what it was that had originally glued you to this chair a couple days ago. “-I need to…” you trailed off.
      “You need to take a break.” Seongmin said in all seriousness “right now”. He reached down to clasp your hands in his, and prevent you from turning around and working again.
      That was enough to bring some clarity to you and remind you of what it felt like to be present again. You had spent so many hours tucked away in this room for seemingly no reason that Seongmin’s plain gaze and soft yet firm grip around your fingers helped to un-numb your senses. A wave of hunger, thirst, fatigue, and an ache in your upper body from sitting in the same position for so long hit you all at once. “Shit I feel awful…” you said to yourself “and kind of stupid, I don’t know why I do that.”
      Seongmin leaned down and placed a little kiss on your nose. “You’re not stupid, just silly”. He chuckled waving a hand in front of your face “welcome to earth, it’s good to have you back!”
      You smiled a bit in embarrassment and bit your lip anxiously. “It hasn’t really been two days has it?”
      Noticing the slight worry in your eyes and the way your fingers started to twitch in his hands, Seongmin decided to forgo the truth. “No! No! It’s only been like… I was exaggerating before it’s been like… Hey! Do you want to order food you must be really hungry!”
      “I mean I thought…” your mind was a bit foggy but what he was saying didn’t seem right. Then the mention of ordering food settled into your mind and that did seem right. “Oh yeah, I’m totally starving!”
      “Let me go get my phone.” Seongmin ruffled your hair a bit and then rushed out and before you could even blink, he was pulling you out of your chair and onto the bed to sit and browse his food delivery app. The dark circles were still ever-present under your eyes and you looked a bit haggard but as your face scanned his phone, no longer absorbed in work, a genuine smile on your face, light returning to your being he thought you looked really beautiful. Rubbing small circles on your back he reminded himself to remember this for next time, because no matter how awful it seemed there would always be a next time and that was okay…

you tilt your head to the side, the silence calm and comfortable. his whole face turns red, embarrassed for making you wait. "i-i'm sorry, could you say that again?" he asks bashfully.
a giggle bubbles from your throat, hand linking with his as you pull him along the floralscapes. "i said, do you mind taking a picture of me?" minhee nods, i mean, how could he say no when you asked so nicely?
you pose amongst the flowers, putting them to shame against your beauty. both of you grin from ear to ear like a pair of lovesick fools, a dreamy sigh floats past his lips as his thumb continuously taps the camera button.
"so pretty," he mumbles quite loudly to himself. your face is caked with a humorous expression, "sorry, i didn't mean to say that out lou—"
"it's okay, you're pretty too," you smile up at him before looking down at your phone and scrolling through the pictures. minhee feels his heart drop to the floor, a flurry of coral flushing his cheeks.
yeah, he was definitely done for.
Tumblr media
✶ summer.
you play with the mushy sand between your hands, patting and stacking the grains into something that closely resembles a castle as you attempt to distract yourself from the sizzling sun.
looking up from your masterpiece, turning your gaze over to the peacefully sleeping boy next to you. he's laying on his back, sunglasses covering his sleepy eyes.
"of course he took a nap! when has he ever not taken one?" you ask yourself jokingly. you crawl closer into the shaded area where he lay, watching the way he twitches every now and then.
the soft rise and fall of his chest is almost hypnotic when you finally reach him up close. you sit beside him, slowly taking off the sunglasses to fully see his face.
brushing more pieces of his platinum blonde hair out of his eyes, he stirs around before getting comfortable again. you laugh at how his face scrunches up, his nose crinkling and his lips turning into a soft pout due to you disrupting his sleep.
you let him sleep for a little while longer, the sound of the waves and wind whipping past you and relieving you of the swarming heat. time goes by slowly, the sky slowly forming into a cotton candy palette.
minhee stays the same, the noisy beach-goers not even close to swaying his slumber. you press featherlight kisses upon his face before whispering to him, luring him into consciousness.
"mini, wake up," you say softly. nothing but an adoring smile on your face, eyebrows raised as you watch his eyes flick side to side under his eyelids.
not long after, he opens one eye to give the person who bothered him a piece of his sleepy mind. his angry expression quickly fading to one of love as his eyes land on your hovering form.
you laugh at him, his whole reaction reminding you of a toddler who had gotten their toy taken away. "morning, my love!" you say sweetly before chuckling.
"how can i get you to stop napping like this?" you ask jokingly, tracing random shapes upon his bare chest. his laugh is throaty as he rubs the sleep from his eyes, "hm, how about a trillion kisses?"
you groan at his flirting, "deal." you leave a soft peck upon his lips to shut him up, but it's not like he was complaining.
Tumblr media
✶ fall.
the unexpected rainy weather had muddled your date plans, so with no other option, you both decided to stay inside and enjoy each other's company.
you hear soft padding against the wooden floors, "here, honey," minhee mutters softly. you turn around to see him holding two mugs, you wonder what's inside them. as if on cue, he speaks up.
"it's hot cocoa, kinda feel like it's the perfect weather to have it," he says with a shrug before jutting the mug out for you to grab.
your stone cold hands quickly grab the harry potter themed cup, chilly fingers warming up. you hold it close as minhee takes a seat opposite of you. placing your legs atop of his as he uses his free hand to graze his fingertips against your shin affectionately.
your gaze is stuck on the window that's littered with droplets of water. the pitter-patter somewhat soothing despite it being the cause of your plan's downfall.
"i wish we could go out," you say dejectedly. sighing, you look back at the messy-haired boy, "are you saying that you'd rather be outside than cooped up with little ol' me?" he asks with mock offense.
a snort fills your tiny apartment, "oh, knock it off!" you start, "that's not what i meant and y'know that." minhee nods along before placing a hand on his chest dramatically.
"i never thought you'd hurt me like this, y/n. out of all people!" he whines before placing his mug upon the window sill and cradling his head in his hands.
you laugh at the little show he's putting on, "wherever you go, i'm right there with you. end of story." you say sincerely, taking one of his hands in yours and kissing the back of it.
minhee giggles at the ticklish feeling, before shyly smiling and returning the kiss on your nose.
"you missed," pointing at your lips with a cheeky smile slapped onto your face. minhee chuckles at your straightforwardness before leaning in and placing a soft kiss where you had asked.
Tumblr media
✶ winter.
the biting winter weather causes you to snuggle into your puffer jacket, hands stuffed in your pockets in search of warmth.
minhee watches you shiver as you take a late night stroll along the han river, a frown automatically finds it's way to his lips. he scoots closer to you, wrapping an arm around your hunched shoulders.
"any better?" he asks, you nod sheepishly before muttering a soft 'better'.
you lazily throw an arm around his waist, pulling him closer with a cheeky smile on your face. you'd be deemed crazy if you were to pass up on the opportunity to have your lover closer to you.
"it's freezing," teeth chattering with every word that was spoken. your voice was soft, almost like a whisper as minhee laughs due to your frozen state.
your pout grows, removing yourself from lanky limbs. your footsteps stop, leaving you stationary. he whips around, looking at you in confusion. "stop laughing at me, i'm cold!" you say with a frown, crossing your arms.
minhee rolls his eyes, "so dramatic!" he walks over to you and envelopes you into a bone crushing hug. "can we stay like this?" you ask, sighing into his chest.
you feel the rumble in his chest as he speaks, "wouldn't want it any other way, sweetheart."
butterflies erupt in your stomach, you face being shoved deeper in his chest as you grow embarrassed because of his words.
"aw, is my honey shy?" he coos at you, lifting your head to look at him. forefinger and thumb tucked under your chin as he leans in for a kiss.
minhee's hands fly to your hips, rubbing soft circles as his kisses never let up. you pull away gently, opening your eyes to see him chasing after your lips. taking mercy on the tall boy, you leave a few pecks along his face before leaving the last on his lips.
"i love you," his voice small and only for you to hear. he leans his forehead against yours, eyes closed in content.
though the cold weather already flushing your faces in soft strawberry hue, the color grows deeper due to his affectionate words towards you.
there was this air of enchantment swarming you two, the feeling becoming addictive as you both stay still in each other's arms.
"i love you too," you whisper to him and only him. he hums in acknowledgment before leaving a kiss on your head. "not as much as i love you though," he jokes, his gaze coming back to yours.
scoffing at his challenge, "yeah, sure you do," you say sarcastically before smiling up at him. your laughter grows as you stay huddled together.
his laughter fades while you continue giggling to yourself, hands coming up to cover your face. minhee watches intently, and despite the cold, dreary weather, your presence reminds him of sunlight.
your aura reminds him of a honeycomb gold, your laughs drawn out because of him. you were perfect, everything he's ever wanted in life. god, you were the love his life and there was no doubt about it.
two years of the earth traveling around the sun, your love wasn't even close to being swayed by the seasons.
this is what love is.

CLOUD WATCHERS.
pairing: best friend!minhee x gn!reader | genre: high school au, secret pining, fluff | word count: +400 words | warnings: none
Tumblr media
“I’m bored.”
You sigh. “I know since you feel the need to remind me every five minutes.”
“Because I’m bored!” he reiterates in an overly dramatic tone. “We’ve been here for over an hour. How long does it take to stare at some clouds?”
“Hey, they’re not just some clouds!” You sit up a little to lightly punch his arm, laying back on the grass right after. “Use your imagination! Come on, look at that one. What do you see?”
You point your finger to a random spot.
Minhee squints as he glances up at the sky, puzzled. “I don’t know, kind of looks like a cat giving birth.”
You click your tongue. “How poetic.”
“Thank you.” He gives you a lazy, lopsided grin, his eyes squinting from the sunlight. “Also, do we have to be in the grass? Couldn’t we have set up a hammock or something?”
“I’m starting to see why Serim doesn’t invite you to his family camping trips anymore.”
He shrugs. “You’re not wrong.”
Though he’s your best friend, Minhee has never taken much interest in your hobbies and vice versa. You were far from polar opposites; the two of you just simply didn’t engage in any similar past times.
But ever since he got you to join him and the boys for a night of karaoke, you’ve been begging him to give your interpretation of fun a try in the hopes that he’ll enjoy it too. At first, he thought cloud watching couldn’t be that bad since he usually liked things that required minimal energy, but it didn’t take him long to realize that it just didn’t really click with him.
Now, some weekends he’ll force himself out of bed in the morning to sit in his backyard and stare at the sky to see if the experience will feel any different. It never does.
Though one day when he passes by the park on a jog and finds you by yourself in the field, he sees just how adorable you are. The way you appear so lost in your own world, softly humming a tune under your breath. The way you react when he calls out your name as you turn your head to look at him with a soft smile.
He’s undeniably infatuated by your serenity.
Minhee still doesn’t understand any of the joy that could possibly come from watching a bunch of clouds, but if he were to think of something, at least they reminded him of you.

Day 3
Pairing: Seo Woobin x fem!oc
Genre: Horror, established relationship
Summary: Rina and her friends decided to play the ouija, what could go wrong?
Warning: Death, cursing, bruises, drowning, accidents
Notes: I’ve actually never played it so I’m basing it on basically everything from movies I’ve seen, lmao.
Tumblr media
Rina was with her boyfriend, Woobin, and her group of friends at Minhee’s house.
The couple was hugging on one end of the coach on the living room. While the others where scrolling through their phones or talking amongst them. All of them extremely bored.
“I’m sooo bored.” Seongmin whined.
“Me too.” Hyeongjun spoke. “Don’t you have any cool games or something?”
“I have Monopoly or Uno.” Minhee responded.
It was never a good idea to play any of those with them, it always ended up in petty fights.
“Hmm, anything else?” Allen asked.
“Uh! How about Spin the bottle or Never have I ever?” Jungmo proposed.
“What are you, a middle schooler?” Wonjin teased him, which made the older hit him on the arm.
“Maybe something that won’t destroy our friendship.” Serim joked.
“Hmm, I think my parents have a ouija board on the basement.”
“I’m not sure about that, it’s dangerous. You know?” Rina spoke in an uneasy tone.
“Nothing’s gonna happen, Rin. Don’t be silly.” Taeyoung said.
“If you don’t want to play you don’t have to, love.” Wonbin looked at her.
“No, no. I don’t want to be a buzzkill. I was just saying.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yeah, don’t worry, Bin.” He nodded and kiss her cheek, making her smile.
“Okay, all those in favor of playing?”
Everyone raised their hand, some more enthusiastically than others.
“Then I’ll go get it.” The blonde said, walking downstairs.
It didn’t take him a lot of time to return, holding a medium sized board.
He placed it on the wooden table that was right in front of the coach. And indicated everyone to sit in a circle, surrounding it.
“According to the internet, you have to put two fingers on the planchette and ask if someone’s there.” Serim explained.
They all did as he said, not thinking that it would actually work.
Spoiler alert, it did.
“I bet Taeyoung moved it.” Jungmo spoke, clearly not impressed.
“I didn’t! Ask another question and see for yourself.” He defended himself.
“Okay, then. What is your name?”
It took a second for the planchette to move, spelling out “Crowley”.
“Seriously, who moved it?” Wonbin asked rolling his eyes.
“No one did!” The remaining exclaimed.
As they continued to ask the spirit questions, they soon found out that it was all real.
“This has been suuuper fun but I’m expected to be home soon.” Seongmin spoke nervously.
“Don’t tell me you’re scared, Seongminie.” Wonjin said in a teasing tone.
“Like you aren’t! Don’t pretend like you aren’t a scaredy cat.”
“Pff no.”
It was a well known fact that Seongmin, Wonjin and Hyeongjun were the ones that got scared the most and the easiest.
“Yeah, sure.”
“Stop fighting, you two.” Serim scolded them, rolling his eyes.
“I’m getting hungry, how about we eat and then play video games?” Rina asked, wanting to stop playing.
“I like the idea, honey.”
The rest nodded and removed their fingers, making a huge mistake.
Everyone knew or almost everyone that you have to say goodbye to the spirit before taking your fingers off the planchette.
Nobody thought of that and went to order food, leaving the ouija unattended.
Their hangout ended at approximately 11 pm, then everyone parted ways.
“Thanks for everything, Min!”
“Have a good night.”
The pair walked towards their car and drove to their shared apartment.
Rina was on the drivers seat and Woobin on the passenger’s, being the passenger princess he is.
They were halfway there, when they passed a very isolated street. They were waiting for the traffic light to turn green when they saw a white figure in front of them.
“Hmm, baby? Do you see that too?” The brown haired asked in panic.
“What, Bin?”
“That white figure that resembles a man in a white suit.”
“Ohhh that, yeah.” She processed his words for a minute. “Please tell me that isn’t a spirit.”
“I think it is.”
“Could it be Crowley?” She asked more stressed. “Do you remember if we said our goodbyes?”
“I-I think we did, or not? I can’t remember.”
“Oh my god, this is so bad.” She put her hands on her face. “We have to warn the others once we’re home.”
“Yeah, okay. Let’s hurry then.”
They were able to get there without other interruptions.
They called everyone but only Allen and Hyeongjun answered, they were okay but felt uneasy. And the next days were worse for everyone.
Seongmin had scratches all over his body, Serim fell and broke his left arm, Taeyoung fell from a three story building and was in a coma, Hyeongjun almost drown on the tub, Minhee almost chocked while eating and Allen lost his voice.
Shockingly, Rina and Woobin were okay. Apart from feeling like they were being watched every minute of the day and even night.
Until that unfortunate night when Woobin felt like he couldn’t breath. He felt like someone was choking him, like there where hands on his neck.
“Honey? Where are you?” Rina was returning from the store when she didn’t hear anything. Which was odd since the boy always placed music.
She felt anxious, so she walked to their shared bedroom, in there, she saw Woobin’s figure lying in the bed, not moving at all.
The girl began crying and panicking, she dialed 112 and came closer to him, holding him.
Thinking that if they have had done something as simple as saying goodbye, all of these tragedies wouldn’t have happened.

Let’s Dance
Hufflepuff! Allen Ma x Reader
Genre(s): hogwarts au!, the fluffiest fluff because Allen is a sweetheart
Warning(s): none
W.C: 2.5k
Summary: What happens when you get ditched at the Yule Ball?
A/N: had this idea for a while and I wanted to write something for my boy Allen cause I ABSOLUTELY ADORE him. Anyways I hope you enjoy this short fic <3
Tumblr media
You sat at the table in the the corner of the hall, counting the candles floating above your head for the third time now. You couldn’t help but blink back tears listening to the cheerful music playing from the band on stage.
It was stupid to cry over a dumb boy.
You thought it had to be good to be true when the hogwarts champion, resident heart breaker Choi Soobin asked you to be his date to the Yule Ball (sorry Soobin...). And seeing him hand in hand with Hwang Yeji, easily the most desirable girl in the school, you easily realized you must have been a backup plan in case she rejected him.
It stung to get your hopes up, but more than anything you just felt stupid. It was humiliating to see them together after you had been telling your friends all week about how Soobin asked you out; getting all dressed up, spending an hour on your hair, and being so excited only to wait embarrassingly long at staircase for Soobin to not even spare you a glance. You’re not even sure if he remembers asking you to be honest, which hurts so much more.
Maybe you should just cut your losses and go back to your room now. Your face felt hot as you sniffled, quickly wiping away the few tears that managed to escape.
Taking one last look at Yeji and Soobin, you took a deep breath and decided to leave. It’s for the best anyways; at least he looks like he’s having a great time...
Sticking close to the wall, you started making your way to the door, hanging your head as to hopefully not be noticed. Your body already burned with shame, so getting out of this crowd would be good for you probably.
Pushing through the doors and heading for the stairs, you were glad to make a quick and discreet exit. Getting to the top and turning the corner to go in the direction of your common room, you ended up running into someone; a familiar face...
“Woah (Y/N), be careful!” Allen, your potions partner exclaimed, instinctively grabbing a hold of your arms as to steady the two of you. Upon noticing your state, the hufflepuff frowned.
“Are you alright?” Allen asked, voice laced with concern and not letting go his hold on you. You let out a few more tears, trying your best not full on cry in front of Allen.
Allen wasn’t really a friend of yours, but he was friendly enough while in class. He was pretty quiet while you worked on projects together, but he was always helpful and always very nice to you.
You liked Allen; honestly he was a good guy and you’d seen him hang out with his little group of friends and they were all lovely too. They always seemingly having a good time and you sometimes wished you were a bit closer to Allen.
“I’m fine.” You let out a sarcastic chuckle, wiping your face once more. You move to sit at the top stair. Allen takes a seat beside you, soft expression washing over his features.
“I thought you were supposed to have a date..? Where is Soobin?” Allen asked gently, causing you to tense.
“I thought so too, but I got ditched.” You confessed. You could see from your peripheral Allen move closer to you and he placed a timid hand on your shoulder to comfort you.
“What a dick.” Allen mumbled, causing you to let out a laugh. You sniffled and cracked a grin, looking up at Allen. He gave you a lopsided smile upon seeing your face.
“It’s okay,” You chuckled bitterly, brushing your hair away from your face, “I didn’t even like him that much anyways.”
“Then why are you upset?” Allen hummed, leaning over to wipe you tears away. You didn’t know Allen was the type to be as tender and delicate when trying to comfort someone, let alone someone he wasn’t really close with.
“I guess I’m just embarrassed I got my hopes up.” You replied, wiping your nose with the back of your hand. You let out a weak chuckle, turning to the boy next to you, “Maybe I should have prepared a love potion for him, huh?”
“As your potions partner, I’m glad you didn’t. Knowing you, it would have gone horribly wrong and cause catastrophic consequences.” Allen teased, causing you to laugh. You missed the way his eyes lit up and smile widened at his success.
The two of you talked for a while about everything and anything. You learned how much you enjoyed Allen’s company. He was funnier than you’d expect, while also very diligent and thoughtful. He told you about the time he had to save his friend Wonjin from the whomping willow; and when he, Woobin, and Serim snuck into the kitchen to bake Minhee a birthday cake, only for them to get caught and chased out by the house elves.
“No shot you could recognize him!” You exclaimed through fits of laughter.
“We could! Polyjuice potion only masks the appearance, not the mannerism!” Allen explained, expression bright as he waved his hands around, “Taeyoung does this specific face sometimes and when you see Dumbledore doing it, it’s clear as day!”
Allen then mimicked his friend, putting on a goofy expression (iykyk) that sent you into a whole new fit of giggles. Allen was sitting close to you now, thigh casually brushing yours.
“Speaking of,” You began, calming down enough to look at your surroundings, “Where are you’re friends? It’s rare I see you without one of them attached to your hip.”
“They are actually inside the hall.” Allen replied, nodding his head towards the doors you had come from, “I had a charms assignment to finish up before I came out, so they said they’d just meet me at the ball.”
“Oh gosh! I’m sorry for keeping you!” You exclaimed, standing from your place and dusting yourself off, “You better not keep them waiting any longer, and I better get going.”
“Where are you off to?” Allen asked, standing up. He had to resist the urge to reach out for you and make sure you were steady on the stairs.
“My dorm. I was kinda sick of standing around and feeling shitty.” You explained before beaming at Allen, “But thanks to you, I’m feeling a lot better.”
Allen’s face flushed a bit as he looked at you, seemingly shocked. You waved goodbye and made your way down the hall. You only made it a few steps before you felt a hand on your wrist and heard Allen call your name.
“Wait! uhm.....” Allen stuttered, looking from your eyes to your lips back to your eyes. He felt like his heart was going to explode out of his chest as he took a deep breath and sighed.
“If you’re feeling better, maybe you want to come back inside and... uh....” Allen fidgeted in his place awkwardly. With a sudden burst of confidence, he slid his grasp from around you wrist down to your hands and meekly interlocked his fingers with yours, “We could hang out?”
You felt your face heat up at the action. Before tonight, you would have thought Allen just didn’t care to be friends with you. Now, you began to hope it was quite the opposite, and you felt a sudden fluttering in your chest.
“I mean, you did get all dressed up and didn’t get a dance...” Allen mumbled, staring down at his feet, “seems a shame...”
You giggled at his demeanor, squeezing the hufflepuff’s hand lightly.
“I think I’d really like that.” You hummed, watching in amusement as Allen’s face lit up like a Christmas tree. You let go of his hand and opted to wrap your arm around his, holding onto his bicep timidly.
Allen swore he felt like he was floating. He had always been just a bit too nervous; a bit too awkward to approach you and make the move of classmates to friends, and hopefully past that to a relationship. And now with you holding onto his arm, he could die happy.
When you re-entered the ball, everything seemed to slow. You glided through the crowd, head held high and the smile on your face lit up the room. When you made it to the dance floor (not without the distant whoops and hollers of Allen’s friends), you felt like you were shining so brightly and like this moment was better than anything you could have hoped to happen this evening.
Allen turned to you, grabbing your hand with one of his, while the other found its place on your waist; he was delicate, almost as if you’d fade away if he held on too tightly.
“Is this a bad time to mention I’m pretty shit at dancing?” Allen whispered, just loud enough for only you to hear. You chuckled, and shook your head, feeling like you were walking on air as you began to move in time to the music.
“You’re great.” You reassured the man in front of you, wriggling your fingers to get a better grip on his shoulder, “You haven’t even stepped on my toes yet.”
Allen laughed at your attempt to lighten the atmosphere, relaxing a bit in your hold as the two of you spun and stepped relatively gracefully around the dance floor.
It felt like everything around you was a blur and all that mattered was Allen.
Allen.
If you would have asked yourself a couple hours ago if you even thought about Allen in any way besides being a good acquaintance, let alone dancing hand and hand at the Yule Ball with him, you would have thought the idea was crazy. But as you danced around with him, cracking the occasional joke and chatting, you found yourself more and more enthralled by the man in front of you and the pounding of your chest increased as time went on.
You barely even registered when the song ended and Allen stopped dancing. The smile on his face and the crimson painting his neck and cheeks was enough of a sign that he was feeling similarly to you.
“Soobin was staring, you know.” He pointed out, nodding his head slightly over your shoulder.
“Really, I didn’t notice.” You replied nonchalantly, not taking your eyes off of Allen. The man in gazed into your eyes, small grin adorning his features before he let out a dreamy sigh.
“You know, I was dying to ask you to be my date to the ball.” He confessed, eyes flicking down to your lips only for a moment, “But since I heard you were going with Soobin, I was disappointed I missed my chance.”
“Good thing everything worked out then.” You chuckled, before letting a silence fall between you two. It was comfortable, but you had the sudden urge to pull Allen closer.
So you did.
Snaking your arms around him, you held him in a nice embrace. He was warm, like the morning sun; He hugged you back wordlessly. Allen wasn’t sure what to say anyways.
“Thank you.” You whispered. You weren’t even really sure what you were thanking him for; Cheering you up? Dancing with you? Being him? All of it at once you supposed...
Allen hummed patting your back gently before releasing you. You stared at him, feeling a sense of fondness creep up. He stared back, mouth open slightly like he wanted to say something, but was hesitating.
“What’s on you mind?” You urged, voice airy and soft enough that only he could hear it.
“Just how much I would love to take you on an actual date.” He replied, surge of confidence as you slipped your hand in his. He began to lead you off the dance floor, as the next song was starting and he didn’t want to get in the way.
“I think that would be wonderful.”
“Really?”
“mmhmm.”
“How about over the break?”
“Sounds perfect.” You finalized, feeling a rush of adrenaline in your heart. Allen smiled so brightly, the candles that lit the room looked dim in comparison. The quiet moment was quickly ruined by cheers and teasing remarks by Allen’s friends as they approached the two of you.
“We were wondering where you were, knucklehead!” Hyeongjun exclaimed, shaking Allen by the shoulders before smiling at you, “Turns out you were dancing with a date!”
“Sorry for keeping him too long.” You giggled out. Allen removed his hand from yours and delicately placed it timidly on your waist to pull you closer to him.
“Don’t be! Maybe now he’ll stop complaining about how you never notice him.” Woobin teased, causing a flurry of laughter to erupt from the group. Allen let out a squeak beside you, eyes narrowed in on his friend.
“Hey!” Allen exclaimed, embarrassment clear on his face as he wouldn’t meet your gaze, “I mean, I wouldn’t call it complaining...”
“Oh please!” Wonjin scoffed, turning his attention to you and grinning playfully, “Between you and me, he wont shut up about you.”
“Is that true?” You asked, turning to Allen; he was frozen stiff at you side, taking a deep breath and seemingly really interested in the floor.
“You could say I’ve liked you for a while...” He confessed; the sheepish grin playing on his features made him look adorable to you, “I guess you never noticed.”
Your body moved on instinct and before you could even stop yourself you placed a quick peck right on the corner of Allen’s mouth, causing him to gasp. His friends immediately wolf whistled and cheered, but it all feel on deaf ears as you found yourself equally as shocked, gazing at the man in front of you.
“I-” You said, voice coming out tightly as your face burned with embarrassment, “I’m sorry.”
“Don’t apologize! I uhm...” Allen replied, clearing his throat and trying to fight the corners of his lips from curling upwards (and failing). He looked at the ground, voice coming out much softer now, “I uhm... feel free to do that whenever you want.”
“Gross.” Seongmin scoffed, causing the group to laugh and breaking tho tension in the air.
“(Y/N), why do you join us this evening?” Hyeongjun suggested, pointing over to the dessert table, “We were all just gonna get something sweet.”
“Sounds lovely.” You hummed. You let the boys run ahead as you felt Allen’s grip on you tighten. You let him lead the way, not being able to resist staring at his side profile; his ears were lit up like a christmas tree and you couldn’t help the sense of endearment fill up your heart.
You weren’t planning on spending the night of the Yule ball this way, but with the way your heart felt and the way Allen’s warm touch made you feel like you were flying, you were pretty sure there was no possible way it could have been spent any better.

“how long will you be gone?” my voice broke through the deafening silence, which was only interrupted by the light crinkle of paper.
i paced the darkly-decorated room as i waited his response. murals, framed with gold and old weapons hanging on the walls. the brick was a dark shade of red, dusty and, purposefully, dingey-looking. it had a scary aesthetic, in contrast to the white slip-dress you’d put on only hours ago. the setting-sun shined through the window with an orange hue — which was only covered halfway by the dark curtains that were made to keep it out. i paused and stared crossed-armed at the man who casually sat behind the, just as dark, cedar desk: papers, upon papers scattered in a never ending raging-sea.
his attention didn’t settle on me, in turn making my voice raise as i tried again to catch it, “jungmo,” his movement stopped, however he didn’t look up from the sheet he’d read seemingly a hundred times, “how long will you be gone this time?”
i knew it couldn’t have been an easy task, told by the way his body tensed and his fingers pressed over the bridge of his nose.
but still, he didn’t answer me.
he was the quiet-type. he’d been that way since the day we’d met almost three years ago now, when he was prowling the bar i had spent the better part of my life tending. but, he was gentle and honest from that day forth. he did his best to protect me from the horrors of his world — hesitant to add me to it in the first place. but, he said it was love at first sight. that he'd shield his sunshine from the bitter planet's patterns.
and, who was i to deny?
i did love him endlessly, the ugly and disgusting included. i've known for years that he does things less the desirably. he'd killed people, however, it never scared or put me off. i knew the innocent look in his eye, reserved for me and me alone.
i guess, maybe his sunshine could get cloudy from time to time, too.
my fingers traced along his shoulders once i'd gotten close enough. he sighed, maybe because of what he'd read, or more likely, my touch, which i've been told — by him — is very soothing.
"baby," i stated, running both my hands down his arms and resting my head in the crook of his neck. i could hear his heart drumming a steady rhythm, that every so often skipped a beat when i'd motion like i was going to let go. "jungmo, love. what is it this time?"
he hummed, but still no words left his lips. though it wasn't unlike him, and has since stopped irritating me; i just wanted his mental anguish to avert to me, to distract him.
without any more questions, my right hand snaked up his own and to the paper. with ease, i took it from his grasp and added it to the droplets already on the wood.
his gaze fell upon me as i slid between him and the desk, holding his wrists out to the side so he couldn't protest — but, he didn't even attempt to. he let my legs straddle his lap, myself then letting his hands fall to their place on my waist, like that's where they were made to be.
"when do you leave?" i asked, his eyes locking with mine. i could feel him tense, his grip on the fabric over my skin tightening. the look in them was enough to answer, the sparkling that he saved for my view gone in an instant.
"tonight." he said coldly, barely over a whisper.
"and, when do you return?"
at this time, my hands had come to rest around his neck, our faces nearly centimeters apart — breaths mixing.
"my sunshine," he started, his hands rubbing up and down my sides soothingly — but, more for his stim than my comfort. "hopefully, tomorrow night. twenty-four hours. its not a complicated task. between wonjin, woobin and i, it shouldn't take long."
i halved a smile, "then why hopefully? who is it for?"
he finished the smile in my place, halting his movements on my side and bringing them to rest against my cheeks. he all but cooed, "don't worry, my sunshine." and pressed a light kiss against my lips.
i chased it, when he broke off, with a slight pout. but, he laughed against the skin of my neck, pulling me into an embrace instead of giving into my desires.
i'd see him again, i was sure of it, but that didn't stop the unbearable thought from crossing my mind: it very well could be the last kiss we ever have. still, he wouldn't say the word goodbye, and i prayed i'd never hear it fall from his lips in my lifetime and the next.

He was right. He was right all along. And that's why Y/n was where she was now. Alone, crying, in the middle of the green forest of Kyoto, as the rain poured. He warned her that Gyemin would break her heart. He warned her that it wouldn't last forever. He warned her that he was no good in the first place. But she never thought it would could very well be the death of her. Just like it was the death of her father.
"You were right Minhee... you were right," she sobbed, hugging her knees as the rain soaked her black dress.
"Y/n!" A voice called in the distance, and she could tell it was a very distressed Minhee. And it surprised her, since Minhee wasn't one to talk, let alone yell. But considering the circumstances, it was reasonable. "Y/n where are you?!"
Minhee could’ve left the kingdom of Kyoto. He could’ve abandoned Y/n as her knight, since the king was dead and he was under no rule, just like the rest of the kingdom. But he stayed. He was loyal to his duty. He was loyal to his best friend.
"Y/n! Please!" He screamed at the top of his lungs, even sounding a bit like he was crying too. The sound tore her to pieces.
She forced herself up from her place in the dark mud as she moved towards the sound of Minhee's voice. "Minhee! I'm over here!" She beckoned the royal knight, barely able to see through the rain. But it became clear as day when her eyes fell upon Minhee.
Her heart dropped at the sight. He was limping, an arrow in his upper right arm as well as below his left knee, both gushing with sticky red blood. His soft black hair completely disheveled, blood dripping from his lip and forehead, his uniform torn with cuts all over his arms and legs, even a particularly deep one in his stomach. Yet still, with what strength he had left, he walked over to his first and only love, only thinking about her safety and not his own agonizing pain.
"Y/n, we need to-" he paused, hissing from the sharp pains. "... get out of here. Gyemin... he's after you," he choked out, coughing up a bit of blood. It was a wonder he wasn't dead. He was stubborn, after all.
"Minhee," she sighed, mouth open as tears stung her already tired of crying eyes. "What did they do to you," she reached out to touch his arm but he pulled away.
"Forget about me..." he begged, grabbing her hand as he began to sprint.
As they ran, Y/n heard the frightening sound of a horse whining, signaling Gyemin and his men were near. Fear giving her an adrenaline rush, she picked up the pace, matching hers with Minhee's. Minhee and Y/n had long disregarded their appearance, being covered in blood and dirt, their hair complete messes. Even some of his blood had spilled onto Y/n, causing her to shudder.
The path ahead became blurry to Y/n. Her grip on Minhee's hand loosened continuously. And he only noticed how tired she was when he no longer held a hand in his. Hers slipped out of his, and now, she was on her hands in knees, sitting in the mud.
Her senses were completely overwhelmed. Her ears rang painfully, she could smell only the spring rain, she felt hardly anything anymore but the cold, she tasted the blood that spilled from her lip, and she saw a blurry version of the forest. "How did it come to this," she began, eyes closed as it was less painful that way. She didn't even bother to look up as Minhee knelt before her. "My father is gone, Gyemin is exactly the person you said he was, yet I believed him and not you. And I let everyone down," she took a shaky breath. “I should’ve known he’d turn the minds of our allies. Now I can’t tell friend from enemy,” she said, just angry with herself. “I never thought anything would've led to this," her voice broke, as she made eye contact with the handsome knight, her hands still deep in the mud.
She couldn't keep it in any longer. She began to sob as her body fell into Minhee's arms. He caught her and held her close, comforting her the only way he knew how. She grabbed his bloodied uniform and dried her tears with it. None of this should’ve been happening. It was all wrong.
“I’m so sorry Minhee… you were right all along, I should’ve believed you,” she whispered, clutching him tightly still.
He closed his eyes and stroked her hair. “It’s alright, it isn’t your fault,” he assured, for a moment completely forgetting his immense pain.
She pulled away from him and looked at his wounds again. She cried even more at the sight. She could feel his pain, almost literally. But she stayed strong, and rose to her feet as Minhee helped her up, when in reality, she should’ve been the one helping him. Perseverance was always one of his best qualities.
“There are some old ruins not far from here. Let’s take shelter there,” Y/n suggested. Minhee nodded to her words and started in the direction which she pointed. And not long after, they’d arrived, with no Gyemin in sight.
Y/n looked for a place to rest, when she heard a thud behind her. She quickly turned around, and saw that Minhee had collapsed. “Minhee!” She exclaimed, running to his side, making him look at her. She grabbed his hand and smiled at him, despite her worry. “Minhee… don’t move, I’ll get help,” she assured, though her nervousness showed.
“Y/n…”
”I’ll find someone who is still loyal to me. I’m the queen now, there must be somebody out here.”
”Y/n…”
”And they’ll heal you, and you’ll be better again… everything will go back to the way it was! And we could-“
“Y/n!”
She looked at him as her tears fell onto his wounds, not wanting to hear what he had to say.
“It’s… ahh,” he gasped in pain. “Too… late…”
She cried quietly and put her hands on either side of his face. “No it isn’t… you can’t say that,” she shook her head. “You’ll be fine, you have to be fine. I can’t live without you,” she confessed, hands and head falling onto his chest.
“Y/n…” he smiled through the pain, as she looked up at him, wearing the most pain-filled expression.
“Minhee… no… please…” she whispered.
“I… love you,” he breathed out.
He gave her a sad smile before leaning up towards her, pressing his lips to hers. And she kissed back gently, wanting to remember this moment for ever, because it very well could be her last. She felt him slipping away until his head fell limp onto the ground, lips detaching from hers.
”Somebody please,” she began, gradually getting louder. “Somebody help! Help me!” She screamed as she held Minhee close to her, not finding the heartbeat she wanted to find. Not finding the warmth she needed.
“Princess!” A voice called in the distance, and she recognized that voice anywhere. One of her father’s loyal bodyguards, Jinseong. As well as his other bodyguard Minjoon. They ran to her side.
“Please help him. Do it whatever it takes to get him back. I love him,” she instructed, doing her best to sound brave.
“Yes princess,” Jinseong nodded, and with Minjoon’s help, they carried Minhee away to their secret hideout, far from the castle, which was now overrun by the enemy.
Another figure appeared. Y/n’s handmaiden, Jaehwa. “Princess, follow me to the village of Yoshino. It’s safe there.”
Y/n nodded before following one of the only other humans she trusted.
~~~~~
Y/n stayed in Yoshino for months. Minhee was alive, but barely holding on. He stayed in Kikai, a hideout in Kyoto, populated with the only good people left that lived in the castle and castle town. There, he was treated by skilled medics who were doing there best to bring him back.
”Princess?” Jaehwa’s voice rang out.
”Yes?” Y/n turned her head towards the girl.
”Minhee. He’s back.”
Y/n’s heartbeat sped up ten times faster than before. “Where is he?”
”He’s on his way to the village now. People have seen him in the distance from the surrounding mountains. He-“
Y/n didn’t allow Jaehwa to finish her sentence as she ran out of the house she was staying in, getting a new feeling of happiness she hadn’t had since the fateful day. She immediately went to the stable and mounted her horse, H/n, and galloped towards the path that led to Kikai, planning to meet him on his way.
The horse galloped a bit faster, sensing Y/n’s urgency to get to the place she was headed to. More like the person she was headed to.
There he was. As ethereal as ever. Much cleaner than she last saw him. No blood, no messy hair, no dirt, no torn clothes. Some bruises and scars, of course, but they were a symbol of his bravery.
“Minhee!” She dismounted her horse and ran towards his horse.
“Princess wait!” Jinseong warned. “He’s not the Minhee you once knew,” he explained, dismounting his own horse and walking towards her, standing between her and Minhee.
“What do you mean?” She asked.
”He’s lost his memory. He hasn’t been himself.”
”As your queen, I demand you step aside,” she said. “I want to see him.”
He hung his head. “As you wish.”
She walked up to Minhee’s horse. “You remember me, don’t you?”
Minhee stared blankly at her, scaring her. And she backed away when he slid down from his horse and began walking towards her, saying nothing.
”Uhh, Minhee?” She laughed nervously, backing away as he neared her. And since they were in a valley, she backed away until her back was against the stone wall of the mountain.
“Princess,” Jinseong warned again, ready to draw his sword against Minhee if he threatened her safety.
“Y/n…” Minhee whispered, reaching out to touch her cheek. She melted at his touch and looked into his eyes.
”Minhee,” she sighed with a smile.
Minhee smiled back before quickly capturing her lips in his. Her hands held his face as his held her back and waist. It was happier than their first. Because this time, Minhee wasn’t dying. He had a heartbeat. He had warmth. After about a good minute or two, Y/n pulled away and happily threw her arms around his neck. “I love you too,” she sighed, burying her face into his chest, feeling his arms wrap around her.
Jinseong sighed in relief before sheathing his sword again.
“Now that’s a happily ever after right there,” Minjoon chuckled. “You know, I was always rooting for them,” he stated, mounting his horse as Jinseong did the same.
”No you weren’t-“
”Yes I was!”
Minhee and Y/n mounted their horses as well and rode to the village.
When they arrived, they quickly reunited and went straight into each other’s arms again. Y/n sighed. “You know Minhee… I’m the queen.”
”Which would make me…”
”The king,” she finished. “Are you alright with that?”
”I’ll be anything you want me to be. As long as I get to be with you. That’s all I care about,” he replied.
“How romantic of you,” she giggled.
~~~~~
“Now presenting, the king and queen of Kyoto, Minhee and Y/n!” Announced the royal advisor as the two mentioned stepped out onto the castle’s main balcony, arm in arm.
To think they started out as the princess and the knight. Nobody could’ve predicted this.
“Are you ready for this?” Minhee asked, referring to their next life chapter as he looked down at his beautiful wife.
“Ready as I’ll ever be.”

Stolen first kiss ; Kang Minhee
Tumblr media
Things have been wonderful since you dated Kang Minhee. Although he is especially popular among the girls at school, they couldn't do anything. It's because the person he gives hugs and kisses, morning and night wishes will be you.
However, Kang Minhee is never one to expose his relationships and you respect his principle. Therefore, you two only meet at each other's home or outside school.
Being senior means you have to get ready for the college entrance examination and luck on your side, Kang Minhee is a model student who tops every midterm.
He would come to your house to teach you whatever you request and your parents are glad Kang Minhee can supervise you from time to time.
"Now, do you get it?" Kang Minhee asks. He looks concerned at how you stare to burn holes into the exercise book. He then strokes your back and reassures. "This is quite an advanced question, it's understandable you can't get it yet,"
"Let's look at another question," he says, not an ounce of annoyance coming out of his mouth. "I want to take a break," instead, it is you who feels tired from all those numbers.
"Alright, but I'm gonna finish my homework while at it-"
Kang Minhee takes out the science book as he speaks and is startled by your precipitated move; a side hug.
He is then met with a pair of big pleading eyes. He smiles adoringly at you and pats your head. "What do you want?"
"Cuddles!"
"Not now, Y/N. You see I have-" Not even bothered to listen to his excuses, you cover his blabbering lips off and smile through the kiss.
He is obviously flustered and embarrassed by the fact that his first kiss is so abrupt and not being initiated by himself. Nevertheless, he enjoys the feel of it.
The moment you peel your lips from his, he grabs your shoulder and opens his mouth. "Where did you learn how to kiss?!" he scolds you albeit his red-tinted cheeks contrasting his fair skin.
"Dramas? It's my first time but I really wanted to kiss my boyfriend. Did you like it?" you boldly crawl to his folded legs and land a position there.
Not only he doesn't give an answer, you even get a flick on the forehead.
"Sigh... It seems I'm the only one who gets excited to let go of my first kiss and my boyfriend isn't having it~"
In a hushed voice, Kang Minhee voices out. "Who says that,"
"Then you like it?" your eyes sparkle at the response and you begin to have the idea to tease him.
"Of course.. But I'd appreciate it more if you tell me beforehand," Kang Minhee pulls your body closer and hugs you.
"Hahahaha sure sure. You're so cute, Kang Minhee!"

Scary, cold blooded, emotionless. Those were the characteristics linked to you back in high school. You were often found alone or away from the crowd. Your so-called “friends” only ever talked to you when they needed something from you, but even that was rarely ever. You’ve heard countless rumours about you which stressed you out at first, but as time went on, you became immune to it as it became a part of your daily routine. It was something that bothered you but something that you couldn’t fix. Yes you have broken a couple school uniform regulations and got into quarrels with other students but on your end, you were only trying to defend your classmates who were getting bullied, to only be the one to get in trouble instead. Your grade was playing basketball one day as you ended up falling and scraping your knee from your opponent’s attempt to try to steal the ball away from you. Normally, then this occurred, you would hear whispers of “she’s such a try hard” and “who is trying to impress? She’s a nobody here.” as you walked up to the nurse’s office but today, to your surprise, H/N L/N offered to walk you to the nurse’s office. He hurried to walk beside you before you glance over to see his charming smile. H/N L/N was the complete opposite to you. He was the school’s gentleman from his warm, kind and friendly personality. Everyone in the school adored him. You found it odd how he was single, turning down all the girls who confessed to him but at the same time, you felt jealous, quietly observing him from your desk during breaks as he happily chatted with his friends, teasing each other with jokes and laughter. You never got to experience that. He quietly walked you to the nurses office, knocking before sliding open the door to peek inside.
“Hmm, the nurse isn’t here.” He walked in as you hesitated, not knowing if you’re allowed inside without the staff’s permission. “Maybe she’s running errands.” he mumbled, walking over to the supplies. You took a seat at the bed nearest to the window, staring out.
‘Why is he here? Why did he follow me? What does he want from me? Is he here to tease me too?’ Your mind wandered, trying to find his true intentions before your thoughts disappeared hearing the first aid kit open beside you. Looking over, he kneeled down, opening the disinfecting wipes.
“I'm going to clean the wound, so it might sting a bit.” His voice was soft. He gently tapped the pad onto your wound, as the tips of his fingers would occasionally brush against your skin. You observed his soft H/C hair and how it was slightly messed up from the game. His long eyelashes that were naturally curled and his lips that were pressed, making sure he doesn’t put to much strength onto your injury. He suddenly looked up to see if you were in any pain when you locked eyes, his E/C staring into yours before the both of you looked away, flushed at the unexpected situation. You felt you cheek heat up as you tried to calm down the weird sensation in your chest, looking out the window, seeing the small figures of your class playing basketball.
“And you’re all set.” You saw your wound securely dressed and treated as you extended your knee, moving your leg around. “It’s obviously not as good as the nurse but this should do for now.”
“Thank you. You should become a nurse with this kind of skill.” You smiled and chuckled as he froze midway through his cleanup, taken aback by your brightened expression.
“This is the first time I've seen you smile." He muttered to himself as he stood up, returning the first aid kit. You stood by the window, watching your class play as the wind blew through the gap. He turned around, seeing your hair flow from the wind, your eyes watching from a distance as your lips curled into a small smile. Letting out a hopeless sigh, he quietly walks over beside you. He leaned against the wall beside the window, arms crossed as he continued to observe your features.
"I wonder why people say such rude things about you." You listened. "It must’ve been hard for you to hear them say such horrible things about you.”
“I’m used to it.” You felt the spring wind blow through your hair. “I don’t blame them. Some people can’t help but to judge a person’s outer appearance.” You knew trying to prove the rumours wrong would only cause more trouble on your side since you had no one to stand by your side to defend you. You have already accepted your defeat.
“Then what about me?” You felt his fingers against your cheek, tucking a strand of hair behind your ear that was in your face. Your eyes rounded as you turned to face him, meeting his charming smile. “Let’s be friends, Y/N. I want to get to know you. The real you.” The tingling sensation returned, but this time, your heart started racing. You felt the heat of your face spread across before you stepped back from him, covering your face with your hands. You left the nurse’s office, stomping your way back to your class as he ran out, following you behind with a huge grin on your face. As much as you avoided him after that incident, H/N stayed true to his words, trying to befriend with every opportunity he got. He would visit your class whenever you have different subjects during breaks, sit beside you during lunch, and visit your lockers to try striking a conversation with you. At first you were a bit creeped out and annoyed by his committed attempts but you found yourself letting loose around him as you got comfortable around him. Without realizing, your true personality started shining through as H/N got closer to you. You started smiling more, laughing more and talking more. It was something that H/N looked forward to everyday. It was his number one reason he went to school everyday; to see your face and you smile. For the first time in your years in high school, it was happy, memorable and exciting. Your personality became more lively, cheery and carefree since meeting H/N. He brought out the sides of you that you’ve been concealing all along and without realizing, you developed feelings for him.
You were in your last year of high school and you found yourself falling head over heels for H/N, but you didn’t want to confess and put such a precious friendship at risk. Regardless of that, the two of you remained best of friends, always teasing and joking on who’s the more childish one. He would always catch you off guard with his heart skipping compliments and actions, though you’ll explain to yourself that it’s just part of his personality. The rumours about you didn’t stop and instead, it seems like it only got worse. Rumours of you being two faced and fake to try to win H/N’s heart started speculating. When H/N found out about this, he was enraged at the fact that even when you start showing your true self, people still had rude things to say about you. He always reminded you that people who talk behind your backs are where they belong- behind you and for that, you always found yourself hearing his voice and those words when you felt insecure.
“College applications are just around the corner. Have you thought about what you want to study yet?” H/N sat beside you, head resting on the desk as he waited for your reply “Haven’t really thought about it yet.” You tapped the back of the pen on your lip, trying to come up with some options. “What about you?” “I’m going to study nursing.” He answered directly, watching your expression. You slowly nodded, feeling a slight disappointment that the two of you won’t be studying in the same field. “Someone mentioned nursing seems suitable for me, so I decided to give it a go.” Your eyes travelled down, seeing his sweet grin. “I have a suggestion for you Y/N. You should try going to teachers college and become a P.E teacher.” “P.E teacher?” You repeated. He lifted his head, nodding his head. “I can definitely see you as a P.E teacher. With your cool personality and your talent in sports, you’ll make a great P.E teacher.” He gave you a thumbs up before patting your head upon hearing the bell, returning back to his class. You thought about his words, trying to imagine yourself as a teacher.
‘P.E teacher. That’s not too bad.’ You thought to yourself. You ended up applying to a teachers college for physical education and much to your surprise, you got in. On your graduation day, you were heading back to your locker, clearing the last bit of your belongings when your phone vibrated with an incoming text message. ‘From H/N: hey Y/N. could you meet me at the rooftop after school? I have something to tell you.’ Your head starts racing with the possible thing you might need to tell you, causing you stomach to twist. At the last bell, you slowly walked up the stairs to the rooftop, a hand on the knob before you ran back downstairs, running away from possibly the one and only time you could’ve confessed your feelings, and they would’ve been reciprocated. H/N leaned against the railing of the rooftop, watching the student’s excitedly run out of school as summer holiday started. He saw you hopelessly walk out the doors, wiping your facing from what seemed to be from crying. He wanted to run down. He wanted to grab your wrist and stop you. But something inside him prevented him from doing that, and so, he stared at your depressing figure disappearing in a distance. From that day on, the distance between you and H/N started drifting as neither of you saw each other during college, too afraid to text each other and ask about that day.
-Present day-
"Where'd your get your shirt? It looks good on you." The student walked past you before stopping at his steps, nervously laughing. "R-Really? I got it over the weekend when I went shopping with my friends." He looked away, hand rubbing the back of his neck as his cheeks flushed. "That's cool. But can I give you another suggestion on what to wear?" He looked down at you, somewhat surprised. "Maybe try wearing your uniform. That'll be 5 laps around the track." You tippy toe to flick his forehead before his friends came running behind him. "C'mon Ms. Y/L/N. It's summer! How do you expect me to wear it in the summer?" He whines before zipping his mouth, seeing your darken expression. "Don't give me that excuse when our school offers summer uniforms." You scolded, seeing his friends playfully nudge and ruffle his hair from your lecture. You were standing under a tree at the entrance of the school, making sure students walked in with the appropriate clothing and appearance. "Good morning Ms. Y/L/N!" A group of female students respectfully bowed as they walked past you. "Good morning girls." You quickly scanned their clothing. "Lily!" You walked up to the girl, before fixing her skirt, flatting the part that was slightly flipped up. "Thank you Ms. Y/L/N!" She smiled before you nodded. "Oh my gosh, did you see how beautiful she looked up close? My heart just fluttered just now." You heard a branch snap behind you before you let out a sigh, knowing who was trying to enter the school without getting caught.
"Boys." They froze as you turned around, glaring at them. Usually, they're wearing anything but their uniforms but surprisingly today, they were wearing their uniforms. Or at least tried to. You placed your hands on your waist , feeling somewhat proud at the troublemakers’ attempt to follow school rules. "You boys are surely something else. If you're going to try to follow school policies, at least try to put some effort in it." You walked up the to boys, fixing each of their outfits before patting them on at back, letting them off as they walked pass the entrance. "Man, even her scolding makes my heart flutter." "How can someone be so cold yet warm at the same time? "I wouldn't mind if she scolded me daily." "She is the school's heart shaker" You heard the boys' conversation, shaking your heads from their silly comments. The students had named you the school's heart shaker ever since they witnessed your cold yet heartwarming actions. Maybe it's because you were a former student and having to teach in the school you attended, you couldn't help but to soften up at times, seeing your younger self in the students. But when it comes to your P.E class and school regulations, you were strict about it, from the trouble you've gotten into back in your high school years.
Entering the staff office, you heard your coworkers whispering about something. "Y/N, did you hear about this most recent news?" "If it's gossip, I rather not hear it." You sat on your desk, reviewing your notes for the day. "Apparently, we're getting a new school nurse! The previous one retired." You hummed an uninterested response, focusing on your work. "I heard he's young and handsome as well. I wonder when he's going to come." The principal gave a brief run through over the schedules and any changes that may possibly occur. The words enter through one of your ears and out the other, as you mumble to yourself, trying to remember your schedules and the class notes. "Psst, Y/N." Your coworker whispered before you shot up from your chair, assuming that the principal caught your distracted behavior. "Yes!" The office went quiet as all the eyes were on you, your coworker trying her best to hold in her laughter. Glancing down, you glared at her, mouthing a 'what?' "Great, you can show the new nurse around when he comes. Which should be any time no-" The doors slid open as you let out a small yelp from seeing a familiar figure. H/N L/N, the guy who you left hanging on the last day of high school, also known as your first crush. “Just on time, Mr. H/L/N.” the principal stands to introduce the new staff. “This is H/N H/L/N. Starting today, he will be the school’s nurse.” Your eyes followed his figure as he walked to the middle of the office, bowing. "I hope we can all get along." He smiled as your coworkers started throwing questions and compliments at him. "What a handsome young man!" "Are you sure he's old enough to be a nurse? He looks so young!" "How old are you? Do you have a girlfriend?" He chuckled at their comments. "I'm 25 years old." He answered, as the staff looked at each other with jaws dropped. "Looks like you and Ms. Y/L/N are the youngest ones here." He glances over you as you flinched from suddenly meeting his eyes
"Ms. Y/L/N?" Your back straightened from your name suddenly being called." Do you have something to say to Mr. H/L/N? You've been standing there this whole time." "N-No." You sat back down, hiding your face behind your notes. "Very well then. Mr. H/L/N, your desk will be beside Ms. Y/L/N. She will also give you a tour around the school during lunch break." The principal left at his final words. The bell rang as teachers left the office to their assigned rooms. "You definitely just fell head over heels for this dude." Your coworker whispered before you jerked your head up, about to curse when you hear a male beside you clearing his throat. "Um, Ms. Y/L/N-" "I better get to class! My students are waiting for me." You jumbled your papers together before standing up, walking at a brisk pace, leaving your coworker and H/L in confusion. 'He seriously had to come here out of all the schools? Does he recognize me? He shouldn't, right? Just pretend you don't know him and you'll be fine, Y/N' You tried gathering your thoughts as you walked to the field to your students. "Is Ms. Y/L/N alright?" H/N asks your coworker who was giggling to herself. "Yeah she's fine. You have to get used to her abrupt actions sometimes." She advised before leaving the room. "I know, I've already gotten used to it." He mumbled while looking out the window, watching you stomp over to the students. "Ms, Y/L/N! I heard there's a new school nurse! Is it a male or female?" The girls went up to you as you backed up from their close distance. "Male." "Really?! What's his name."
"Mr. H/L/N." "How old is he?" "25." "Is he cute?" "Why does that matter? You are going to purposely injure yourself so you can pay him a visit?" You crossed your arms, as they girls shook their heads in denial but you could see through them. "And why am I even telling you these things?" "You're no fun, Ms. Y/L/N. Can't you give us a little hope?" The girls nagged. "Dream on. Alright class, we're playing ultimate frisbee today!" You ended the conversation, starting the class.
-Lunch Break- "Looks like the P.E class is going overtime again." One of the staff declared while entering the office, stretching his hand over his head. "Ms. Y/L/N got herself in the game and now the kids are more energized than ever." "What do you mean?" H/N asked, glancing out the window, seeing you sprint across the fielding to catch the frisbee. "Whenever students have class with Ms. Y/L/N, they just don't seem to want to leave, even if it's lunch time. Especially if she starts playing, the energy level in the students just skyrockets." H/N exits the office, walking down the stairs to the doors to the field, watching you play with the students through the glass doors. You glanced at your watch, blowing the whistle to stop the game. "Alright guys, if you keep on playing, you're going to miss your lunch break! I'll take things from here so you guys are free to go. Have a good lunch everyone!" Hearing them whine, you chuckled, shooing them off as they rushed to the cafeteria. You saw them left before smiling to yourself, fixing your hair and started to pick up the equipment. H/N heart skipped a beat when he saw the bright smile of yours. He placed his hand on his chest, feeling it race. You wiped the sweat on your forehead before tossing the heavy bag over your shoulder, walking through the doors. "Ms. Y/L/N?" You jumped, letting out a squeal as you almost lost your balance before H/N got a grip around your arm, balancing you back. "Who creepily approaches someone like that?" "I was here for a while now," "That doesn't make it any better?!" You hid your face from showing such an embarrassing side. "Do you need something from me?" "Yes. A tour." Your lips circled into an 'oh' from realization. "Give me a second. Let me put away the equipment first." You dragged the bag before it was taken away from you. "Let me lend you a hand." You opened the doors of the gym storage room, pointing at the spot for the bag to be placed before you locked the door.
'Stay calm, act normal, it'll be alright. Just act like this is your first time seeing him and everything will be fine. Just get through this tour and you won’t have to interact with him later.' You reminded yourself as you twisted the lock, turning to face the tall male. "This is the gym and storage room. We have two gyms. One that's attached to the school and one that's in the back which is normally used for club practices." You pointed around as he quietly followed behind, looking around. "So the gym attached to the school is the main gym?" He asked as you nodded, walking down the hallways. "The first floor is usually where the grades 9 and 10 are. Turning right is the entrance to the cafeteria." He peeked through the doors, seeing the room full of students chattering and eating. "I heard the cafeteria has really delicious food." He comments as you turn to look at him. "It's what makes our school special. If you ever get a chance, you should definitely try the ___, it's my favorite" You smiled, feeling excited to eat it after the tour. 'I know. You used to eat it everyday for lunch.' He thought to himself, following you upstairs. "The second floor is usually for grades 11 and 12. Occasionally other students come here depending on subjects. Do you know where the nurse's office is?" He shook his head. You placed your hands behind your back, walking to his office when a couple of female students from earlier walked pass. "Good afternoon Ms. Y/L/N." "Good afternoon. Have you eaten lunch already?" They nodded as you smiled. Their eyes shifted to H/N behind you before switching back at you, smirks plastered on their faces. "Is that Mr. H/L/N that you told us about from the beginning of class?" You looked at the girls, eyes twitching. "Ah, you mean the new staff you guys asked me about? Yes. This is Mr. H/L/N." You forced a small grin. "I heard you're the same age as Ms. Y/L/N. Did you guys go to the same school?" "Hey! That's not very nice to ask Mr. H/L/N such questions on his first day, girls!" You panicked, trying to stop their plan before it gets out of hand. 'Please say no, please say no, please say no.' you prayed. "No no it's alright." He reassured, smiling at the girls. "I don't believe so." You let out a silent sigh of relief, without knowing that H/N was observing your actions. "Ms. Y/L/N is just showing me around the school." "Mr. H/L/N, did you know that Ms. Y/L/N is the school's heart sha-"
"Now now, students shouldn't loiter around in the halls." You pushed the girls to the opposite direction as they giggled to each other. "And Yumi! Button up your shirt!" You yelled before hearing "Did you see her blush? She's so cool!" echo down the hall. "What were the students saying just now?" "N-Nothing. Here's your office." You opened the door for him. He stepped in, observing the place before standing behind the window, looking out at the field. You felt your heart tingle from seeing his figure by the window, recalling that time when he helped you try your wound. "Ms. Y/L/N? Are you alright? Your face is a little red." He walks towards you before you quickly back up. "I'm fine! I'll if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go get lunch." You ran off. H/N walked to the desk, sitting down before resting his head back on the chair. 'I didn't even get a chance to say thank you.'
-The following week-
You were finding every possibility to limit your interactions with H/N, trying to keep yourself distracted and busy, with every possible way. “Excuse me, Ms. Y/L/N, do you know where the prin-” “Sorry, I have to go print some documents.” You stood up from your seat, walking into the printer room. Your coworker beside you, saw the suspicious interaction, rolling her chair over to the nurse’s desk. “I have to say, Miss. Y/L/N isn’t normally like this. So I don’t blame you if you’re a little flustered by her actions. I’ll go check up on her.” He kindly smiled at the female before her cheeks heated red, walking into the printer room. “Y/N, what’s up with you?” You flinched at her sudden voice. “You scared me there F/N!” You relaxed, seeing it was just her. “What do you mean?” “You’ve been acting weird ever since Mr. H/L/N started working here.” You punched the buttons on the printer. “Is there something wrong?” “It’s not that. Promise you won’t say anything?” Your coworker gave you a trusting bob. “It’s just that… We went to the same high school together.” You quietly spoke, afraid that other staff would hear. “What?!” She screamed before your hand whipped over her mouth, shooting her a glare. “Sorry, sorry. I wasn’t expecting this at all.” “Neither have I. This would be the last place I’ll expect to see him.” You spoke your thoughts out loud, inserting the documents before punching in the number of needed copies. “Do you think he recognizes you?” You shook your head furiously. “I don’t think so. The last time we saw each other…” You recalled the memory during your graduation day. “...was in high school. So it’s been years. But do me a favor.” You felt a weird tingle in your body from what you were about to say. “Could you not address me by my first name when we’re around him. I don’t want to take any chances of making him realize that we’re classmates.”
“For sure!… What if he came back because…” You pressed 1 and 0 for 10 copies. “He likes you and thought that you might return back as a teacher?” Your finger slipped and pressed onto the 0, making 100 copies. “Are you crazy?! Who in their right mind would come back for that?” You whispered yelled, glancing over at the screen before your eyes popped out, seeing the number of copies. “100 COPIES?!” You yelled before you and your coworker started to panic. “Why’d you click 100?” “I clicked 10 but YOU distracted me and I clicked the extra 0!” “I was only stating what could possibly be true!” “Stop talking nonsense and help me out.” You clicked the ‘cancel’ button before the printer finally became silent, only printing out a couple copies. You walked over to pick up the slot to gather the printed copies. “That was a close call.” You looked over at your friend, seeing her tense eyes on the screen. “F/N…?” The printer started running again, making loud whirring noises before sheets of paper started shooting out everywhere. It was too late to cancel the operation. “Y/N!” Your coworker yelled, as you hectically picked up the fallen and flying sheets as she clicked random buttons in hopes to stop the machine. “Oh my gosh, Y/N! It won’t stop printing!” She cried. After a couple minutes, the machine finally stopped, leaving the two of you heavily breathing.
“I’m so screwed.” You groaned, looking at the amount of copies in your hand. “What am I going to do with 100 copies?” “I mean you always manage to lose your papers, even when they’re on your desk so maybe having a few extra copies isn’t a bad thing.” She tried comforting you in the worst way possible. “I think we should go Y/N, Mr. H/L/N mentioned that he needed to use the printer- '' The both of you turned around being greeted by none other than H/N who was standing by the door, with a rather shocked expression. You started panicking, not knowing if he witnessed the embarrassing incident or your coworker calling you by your first name. “A-Ah, Mr. H/L/N! What a sight to see you here!” You mentally face palmed yourself from hearing your coworker attempting to speak as if nothing happened. “I was just checking up on Y/- I mean, Ms. Y/L/N to see if she’s alright with the printer.” She glanced back at you to see you pursing your lips, forcing a smile. She definitely can’t keep her promise. “I see. Do you mind if I use it after you’re done?” You nodded, stepping aside from him. Even though he was pretty confident that on the first day, he saw you and knew it was you, he was able to confirm to himself that it was truly you, Y/N L/N, his crush from high school that was his coworker. You walked over to the table on the other side, trying to organize the stack of papers. “You are so dead.” You grumbled lowly as she uneasily stood beside you, feeling guilty for breaking the promise. “It just slipped out of my mouth. It’s only natural to call my friend by her first name!” She whispered her reasoning as you rolled your eyes, letting out a sigh. “Wait Ms. Y/L/N, your fingers are bleeding!” You glanced down at your hand, seeing paper multiple paper cuts on your fingers and hand. It must’ve been when you were catching the flying papers. H/N turned back to see you stick your finger in your mouth. “It’s just a paper cut.” You mumbled with a finger in between your teeth. Holding the papers back to your desk, F/N worryingly follows behind.
“I don’t think paper cuts cut that deep onto your skin. Plus, there’s multiple of them! You should get them treated.” H/N couldn’t help to be worried about your state, knowing that you’re the kind of person who doesn’t like showing their weak side. Peeking out the door, he sees you wince, flapping your hand in the air to cool the pain. He wanted to step in and help but he had the feeling that maybe he should stay out of it. He quietly returned back to his seat, seeing you glance to his side as he sat down, causing you to straighten up your back from the tension. You keep yourself busy, scheduling class for the next couple of days and reviewing the upcoming ones. His eyes wandered to your facial features, seeing your play with your cheeks, puffing them and rotating the puffed cheek from one side to another. Your lips pressed together tightly into a thin line before pressing them outwards, alternating from playing with your cheeks and lips. He knew this was a habit of yours since high school whenever you’re focused. Seeing how your habits haven't changed made his heart warm up, knowing that this was something that he found adorable of you. You slowly turned your head towards him, feeling his eyes staring at you. His pupils widened, unexpected by the sudden eye contact before your face turned into a shade of red, realizing your habits haven been caught. “Sorry, this is what I do when I’-” “When you’re focused?” He finished the sentence for you before his mouth snapped shut, alarmed about how he might’ve exposed himself in front of you. Your jaw dropped by his sudden words. ‘How does he know? Does he… remember me?’ “Sorry, a previous coworker of mine had that habit whenever he’s focused.” He lied with a smile, praying you’ll fall for it. “O-Oh really? That’s interesting.” You chuckled awkwardly, turning your focus back onto the screen of your monitor. You laid a hand over your chest, feeling just how fast your heart was racing.
H/N was nervously fidgeting with his fingers onto top of his desk, not knowing he got away with pretending he didn’t know you. He tried distracting himself with filling in some documents and ordering supplies when his mind wandered back to your scratched fingers. ‘She should really put ointment or at least a bandage on them.’ He glances over at your hands, seeing the red cuts. Biting his lip, he pondered back and forth on whether he should check up on you. He is the school nurse after all, so it’s normal to care for his fellow coworkers, right? “Ms. Y/L/N, is your fingers-” “Hey H/N, wanna grab lunch together? I heard they updated the menu with new dishes!” A male worker shot up from his seat in front of him right at the bell. Your eyes looked up at him from hearing him call your name. “Sure.” H/N said after a brief pause. He glanced down, having the expression as if he wanted to ask you something but left with the male staff.
“Man, with this much paperwork, I would rather be teaching.” F/N leans back onto her seat, stretching her arms over her head. “Are you sure you don’t want to get them treated?” She looked at the papercuts. You shook your head, telling her that it's just a tiny scratch and that it’ll heal itself by tomorrow. “Shall we head for lunch then? It’ll be my treat today. I feel bad for what happened back there.” “As you should be.” You said matter-of-factly, feeling her hug onto your arm, trying to cheer you up. Walking into the cafeteria, there was a huge line formed by the students to get lunch. Getting a tray, you queued up with your friend. You spotted H/N and the teacher a few people ahead, having a conversation with a few female students lining up in front of them. “Ah, Ms. Y/L/N and Ms. F/L/N, do you want to go ahead of me? I’m actually waiting for a friend.” The male student offered. “No, it’s alright. Thank you though.” You kindly smiled, as the student blushed, looking down. “I mean, he offered it, so why not?” F/N whispered to only get nudged by you. “One curry chicken katsu please!” Your friend happily ordered once it was your turn. “And the usual for you, Ms. Y/L/N?” You nodded, giggling at the lunch lady’s question. The two of you sat at a table near the windows, enjoying your lunch in peace. “So how was H/N like back then?” You almost choked on your mouthful, hitting your chest to prevent the food going down the wrong pipe. “Were you and him good friends?” “You could say so.” “Then why didn’t you keep contact with him in college?” You remained quiet, feeling guilty about what happened that day. “...Did something happen?” “Not really…” You munched. “I’m not sure how he is now, but back then, he was really popular.” “That, I can definitely say, hasn't changed about him.” You followed her eyes to the table where he sat, eating with a table full of female teachers. “Didn’t you say that your high school years weren’t memorable or something?” “Yeah. It was only untilI met H/N. He was the light in my darkness.” “So you like him.” “I never said that.” “But you’re sure making it sound like it.” You scoffed at her words. You have to admit, you liked him in the past but after getting into teacher’s college, you only focused on your studies, forgetting about H/N. “It’s just weird. Seeing your classmate as your coworker working together in the same school you used to attend.” “Maybe he has a reason.”
- 2 days later -
“What a surprise.” You entered the office, eyes still half awake from your lack of sleep. You slumped down on your chair, taking out a box of bandages. “Are you actually going to use them or are they going to end up being your desk decor?” You narrowed your eyes at F/N’s statement. “You do know the nurse’s office has bandages, right?” “Yeah but…” You haven’t been sleeping well for the past couple of weeks, unable to wrap around the fact that H/N is actually your coworker. You tried searching answers for why he possibly could come back, but nothing would come into mind. “It’s because of him isn’t it.” Letting out a groan, couldn’t help but to chuckle at your childish acts. “Are you scared of the room or him?” “Both? I don’t know.” Opening the box, you took out a couple of bandages, placing them on your cuts. “I didn’t know papercuts take this long to heal.” “I didn’t know someone could be so bad at using bandages. Plus, I told you, papercuts don’t cut that deep into your skin. Why didn’t you treat them either? Imagine all the bacteria that has gone into your wound for the past few days! You could get an infection!” “You sound just like my mom and it’s scaring me.” You shivered, recalling her words in your mother’s tone. After finishing with wrapping your cuts, you left for your first class. Due to the heatwave, you decided to move your P.E class indoors to prevent anyone from getting heat strokes. “Alright since we’re indoor today, we’re going to be playing volleyball.” The class whined and complained. “I’ll be treating the winners for ice cream.” The gym was filled with shouts and cheers from hearing the reward. Splitting the class into a couple of teams, you and a couple of students went to set up the nets.
“What happened to your hand?” A male student asked, pointing at the bandages. “Oh, just a minor cut.” “No I mean, did you wrap that or did Mr. H/L/N?” “Oh… I did. Why?” You felt your cheek heat up from humiliation “You can obviously tell it’s not Mr. H/L/N’s wrapping.” You hissed at the other classmate’s comment before he ran off, teasing you. “Mr. H/L/N is really good at wrapping wounds. I scraped my elbow the other day and he wrapped it so well that even when I move my arm around, it doesn’t loosen!” You were suddenly reminded about his gentle touch when he helped you treat your injured knee. “Ah, I see. He is the school nurse after all.” “Maybe you should ask him to help you with your cuts.” “No! I mean, I already have bandages on so it’ll be a waste to throw them away now.” “Not to be rude or anything, but it’s already a waste from how you place them on.” “Hey!”
-
“6 vanilla and chocolate twists on a cone please.” The students behind were happily cheering as you paid for their desserts. “Thank you, Ms. Y/L/N!” They chimed in unison. “No worries. Stay hydrated and get home safely.” You headed upstairs, stopping by to see if F/N is still in her class before heading back to the office. You saw someone holding a box filled with calligraphy equipment as they hastily stumbled. “Shit shit shit shit…” You heard a familiar voice. “Ms. F/L/N?” Her panicked face relaxes upon your appearance. “Is something wrong?” “You’re a lifesaver. I just remembered I have a meeting to attend about the upcoming class event with a few teachers so could you help me bring these to the art class and make sure everyone gets a brush, ink try and calligraphy paper! Oh and be careful with the ink, the bottle isn’t closed properly.” She thrusted the box to you before taking off down the stairs, shouting her gratitude. You stood there dumbfounded before slowly wobbling your way to her class. Setting the box down, you went around each desk to hand out the brushes. You went back to take out the ink bottle, struggling to twist the cap open
“Not closed properly? More like closed too properly.” You gritted your teeth, twisted the cap before it pops open, spilling some ink on your hand. “Shit!” You cursed loudly before you heard the door burst open. Slowly turning around in fear that the principal heard, H/N rushed over, surprised and puzzled when he saw your face. “Ms. Y/L/N? What are you doing here?” He looked down to see the scene. “Ms. F/L/N needed some help so I offered to lend a hand.” He went to get some wet paper towels to wipe the ink on the floor. You walked over to the sink to wash your hands, sighing to see that the ink stained your bandages. Walking back, you saw Mr. H/L/N pouring the ink onto the ink pallets. “Thanks.” You laid out papers on each desk before carrying the box onto the side, walking out with him. The two of you walked in an awkward silence. You didn’t know what to say and you couldn’t tell if it’s because you have nothing to say or too much to say. “I heard the heatwave is going to last until next week.” He placed his arms behind his back. You let out a “mhmm” before raising your hand to wipe the sweat on your forehead. “Are those rings?” You looked down at your hand, seeing your bandages stain into black.
“No, these are bandages. The ink must’ve stained them.” You chuckled, feeling more sweat build up as you saw him observe them. “Well then, if you excuse me.” You stepped to leave but he got a grip of your wrist. “Come with me.” Not letting go of his hold, he pulled you into his office. He loosened his grip, walking over to get the first aid kit before taking a seat at his desk, dragging a stool out in front of him. You stood by the entrance, feeling your heart pound. It was just you and him. In the room. Alone. Together. Almost 9 years ago. “What are you waiting for? Take a seat.” You timidly walked over to the stool, avoiding his eyes as you sat down. “May I take a look?” You raised your hand, slightly flinching as you felt his familiar touch. “Sorry, did that hurt?” You shook your head, feeling the head spread across your face. He gently took off the bandages as you glanced and saw his worried expression, just like when he was younger. “Ms. F/L/N was right, papercuts don’t cut this deep.” He spoke to himself as your eyes widened in realization that he heard your conversation with your coworker. He applied some ointment before wrapping them tightly. “Why didn’t you stop by? I could’ve helped you treat them.” “It’s nothing serious.” You answered, looking down at the floor.
“Are you sure?” Your head lifted from his change in tone, meeting his eyes. “Are you sure it’s not something else?” “I don’t know what you’re saying.” “Why are you avoiding me?” You tried to think of an excuse. “I wasn’t.” “Every time I tried to talk to you, you’re always excusing yourself.” “I wasn’t.” “Then what were you doing?” “I…” You trailed off, lost at words “You can’t fool me.” He started. Your eyes shifted to look at his. “Even after all this time.” He rolled his chair closer to you. “You’re still the same to me.” He reached to tuck a strand behind your ear. “Y/N L/N.”

I was thinking about some of my old Wattpad drafts and what if I re write my Battle of the Bands one? It’s about, like the title says, a battle of bands, lmao.
Maybe it could be like a Road to Kingdom kinda theme or a bands au, idk. 👀

HYPE BOY — CHAPTER ONE
Tumblr media
level one . . : the encounter (written + smau)
WRITTEN PART - WC : 0.3K
It was just an ordinary day, as usual. college life is definitely difficult. what do you do get rid of all your stress? playing games--of course.
You messaged your friend group but no one was available. All your friends were busy, you honestly couldn't believe taeyoung, your gaming buddy, had something to do as well. who would've known he would be studying for his exam? taeyoung is an A+ student anyways, it wasn't surprising he would prioritize studying.
Since there was no one to play with, you just decided to do co-op. As you wait for someone to join you, you see someone's user pop up.
hypeboy requested to join you !
hypeboy. hm, interesting username. As you accepted his request, you instantly started speaking.
"hiiii"
“hey hey hey!” said the guy with a deep accent. now you found this voice attractive. you just couldnt help it.
you guys decided to play a couple of rounds. he was better than you expected. the round was done in no longer than ten minutes. he was actually an reliable teammate, which was quite rare nowadays. everyone else would be so focused on winning and even starts yelling all the time—causing you pain in your ears. meanwhile he would tell you what you should be doing and even taught you some of his gaming tips. you guys were able to communicate together nicely—it was better than your teamwork with taeyoung.
there was just something about his voice. his giggles and the way he spoke certain words just made you gush over him. you guys been playing for hours and you didn’t realize it.
“it was nice meeting you! i really enjoyed playing with you” said the cheerful guy.
“you’re actually really good! thank you for playing with me!! lets meet each other again!”
“of course! i’ll always remember you, user ynluvi.”
“take care hypeboy.”
-
before you logged off, you made sure you sent a friend request. you couldn’t wait to tell your friends all about this guy.
