Oh my fuck, I love this question! So glad you asked. 😏🐻

If Winnie was a cottagecore king, he would live in a small, wooden style cottage, similar to his own, but maybe he has a little rose/flower bush outside his bedroom window where he tends to his flowers in the morning. Maybe some small fruit & veggie bushes & trees too (strawberries 🍓, grapes 🍇, squash, bananas 🍌, carrots 🥕 etc) that he uses to prepare food for his other animal friends. 🐷🐯🐴

I'm thinking the interior would have wallpaper since he has a happy personality. He would love floral or any kind of bright vintage wallpaper to add some color. I can definitely see him wearing a little garden hat that Piglet made for him & maybe he hangs it on a wall like this when he's done picking berries & veggies. Lol. He'd also have pictures of his friends/family hung on the walls & bits of nature photography hung that he took himself.

Bedroom! Same as before, it would be colorful & bright, florals, vintage, handmade items by himself & his friends. Quilts. He would LOVE quilts! Warm colored afghans & quilts would replace the summery thin sheets during the colder months. Various fabrics & designs. Some stuffed plushies to make it more cozy & homey. A hand painted dresser that's chipping because he's had it for eons, but refuses to replace it. On the walls is where he keeps more framed photos of art they made, & on top of the dresser is a lamp, journal & vintage knickknacks.

In the kitchen he has wooden furniture, those old school curtains that you hang up by hand, he collects teacups, table cloths & honey jars, flower vases (that he actually uses), decorative plates, maybe some china, & pots from hand-me-down thrift stores. The curtains are always drawn to allow sunlight in for the flowers. He kind of has kind of, like, a grandmacore vibe going. I could see him being hella into grandmacore, art, sewing, scented candles & interior design, lmao. Perhaps he's sewn more cute belly shirts all in different colors for when his iconic red one gets dirty. He totally still wears pajamas & sits next to the fireplace during the winter, btw. Everything is a little mix & match, but pleasing & to his liking. He has small rugs here & there, & in his bathroom is probably a bowl sink, more wallpaper, with acorn designs, too. There's an old couch, coffee table, display tables in corners, tall glass cabinets for his china display & tv set in the living room that connects to the kitchen.

& yeah! I think that's about it for our tour. Unless I forgot something? I don't think I did. His hobbies would be handmade art of sorts, cooking, gardening, nature walks, sleeping, eating honey & enjoying time with his friends.

Trying to be more positive, and I don't like people associating me with things I hate irl, so here are some things I love. Reblog this with things you love!

-Art. Pretty much any art. Paintings, sculptures, digital art, traditional art, etc

-Cartoons. I really like shows like Pokemon, Helluva boss, Hazbin hotel, Lego monkie kid, Bluey, and my favorite cartoon movie is The Lego Batman Movie

-Drawing. Definitely one of my favorite things, and I do it all the time. My entire account is a drawing blog, lol

-Video games. I'm not really a "gamer" in the traditional sense, but I love video games like Pokemon, Hollow Knight, Minecraft, and I'm trying out Cookie Run Kingdom

-Pokemon is going in its own little section. I literally have about 5 roleplay blogs for it, lol. I also really love drawing Pokemon and studying the lore of the games

-Birds. I really love birds! I have bird feeders which I haven't filled in a awhile, but I loved watching the birds come down and eat. I hear a crow and a Bluejay every morning, but I've only seen the Bluejay once, and I really want to see them again! And there's a Robin, a Sparrow, and a dove couple that live in my tree and I really love them

-Plush toys. Most of them are in the basement as I redecorate my room, but there are some that I still sleep with. My favorite one is this teddy bear named Bosco

-Plants and herbs. I find that stuff very interesting, and I love learning about plant life and the different uses and symbolism of flowers and herbs

-Mythology and fairytale. I love going around and reading books and fairytales from different cultures. I'm currently reading 2 books called Journey to the West, an old 1600s Chinese book, and the Red Swan, which is a book containing a bunch of Native American myths

-Crystals. I have a Crystal's collection, and I really enjoy learning about them

-Demonology and whatever the study of angels is called. I have like 30 page papers on different demons and angels in Abraham's religions because I find that stuff so interesting! Thank my sister for letting me rant to her for 30 minutes about it, lol

-Moths. Moths are very cute. My favorite moth is the Luna Moth (even if they only live for a week in their moth form, lol)

-Possums. Opossums are one of my favorite animals, but Australian Possums are cute too

-Fashion. I like a bunch of different fashion senses, especially androgynous and alternative fashion

-Weirdcore, dreamcore, and traumacore. It teaches us not to be afraid of the unknown, and can help people cope with their trauma

-Music. Music is my entire life. My favorite genres are classical, rock, screamo, whatever fantasy music is called, pop, and showtoons, and whatever the genre for video game music is called

-Stickers, pins, figurines, etc. They're all very cute

-The cafe aesthetic. I don't go to many cafes because I don't live near many where you can sit down, but I still really like them.

-Borzois. They're so freaking goofy

-Goijg on walks. Mostly at the evening, because that's my favorite time of day

-Room decorating. Currently decorating my room right now, and planning on how to do it is very fun

-Shipping. As someone who doesn't really care for dating, I really like shipping characters in fiction

-Cryptids. I love cryptids a lot! And I p9ve studying them as well

Unicorncore ✨

So for a while now, I’ve been trying to figure out my “aesthetic” to understand what type of things I’m drawn to, get to know myself better and also help narrow down elements of my art style. I was having a very difficult time adjusting to the more popular/better known aesthetics e.g. light, dark academia, cottagecore, arthoe aesthetic, etc.

THEN, I stumbled upon Unicorncore ✨

The aesthetics wiki link (below) is a good resource for figuring it out, however, according to it, the aesthetic is more geared towards kids/teens, which is a little limiting in my opinion. On the whole, though, it does a pretty good job at describing the ✨aesthetic✨ 🦄

So here I will describe what it means to me, making it my ‘master post’ reference to how I define it (somewhat based on what I’ve read and observed) For one, I don’t think something needs to have a unicorn to be part of the unicorncore aesthetic. SO without further ado, let’s lay down my thoughts on this aesthetic:

It’s like cottagecore meets magick (still somewhat different from fairy core) ~> especially in terms of the colour scheme ~> so you can have the warm, cozy vibe of cottagecore but sprinkle in some pastels, maybe some pinks or purples, maybe some holographic elements or some sparkle ✨ It can even be the grungy aesthetic where it’s the exact opposite vibe of cottagecore but has more of a magical vibe to it, maybe with electric purples and shocking pinks and all. So I like to think of it as “daytime” or “nighttime” color schemes, if that makes sense? Like the “daytime” one would have a cozy, warm, “come on little animal and fairy friends let’s go out and play and appreciate this great big world” kinda mood and then the “nighttime” one would be more pinks,purples, blues and galaxies and the moon, the stars, even though the colours won’t be as warm, it’ll still give comfort looking at it.

OKAY SO, for ‘daytime’ think SHE-RA & for ‘nighttime’ think OWL HOUSE ~> I hope it’s clear I don’t actually mean just day and night (altho that’s fine too) I gave the example because it just made sense to me 🤷🏻‍♀️ I meant it more in the lightness & darkness of the colour schemes.

how do I be cottagecore if

1. I don't like wearing dresses

2. I'm broke and also literally 14

so far all I have is my obsession with drawing mushrooms and also consuming cottagecore content for hours on end

girl im 17 and broke too lol!! im not the cottagecore expert but as far as i see it simply,,, liking the cottagecore aesthetic makes you cottagecore?? thats how im doing it anyway, we're kinda doing the same thing w the mushrooms and content :P

wearing dresses defs isnt the only option fashion-wise anyway, u dont have to wear anything u dont like! i wear a lot of green, mostly coz its my fav colour but ive had mutiple other teens comment on how it looks cottagecore - my fav outfit is a loose, pale green longsleeve blouse i have that i wear with a green skirt - simple but cute? i find thrifting can be handy, the other outfit i get the most comments about cottagecore on is a v flowy patterned green skirt i thrifted (i like skirts lol). but thats just me; in general i think earth or lighter colours, florals, lace, blouses and just looser kinda flowy clothes can b associated w cottagecore v easily. boots r also a good thing! theyre cute but practical. also jewellery can b cute, i like a simple necklace and some rings, which can be pricey but at local markets or online u can find some nice cheap ones :) i know someone who loves to make their own earrings, theyre v cottagecore and say its v easy so its something i wanna try! but again i don't feel it matters too much or even that theres a super defined style like there is with punk. you can get stuff thrifting or from cheap online stores like shein? i know thats not the most.. ethical option ig but on a budget, well.

i also love drawing mushrooms, thats a big one :) frogs r v good too!!! u could try decorating ur room with ur art or printing some out?? u can make cottagecore decorations easily with like spare jars full of moss or little things from nature that catch ur eye or pressed flowers etc. houseplants r fun too! i have a playlist on my blog (that srsly needs updating) coz i find cottagecore-y music can help make a cottagecore mood - u could try finding similar music u enjoy! baking is a good activity, even making smth from a box mix can b rewarding and homely. nature photography is smth i like bc it makes me notice little things, i just go on walks n take pics w my phone for myself. it helps that i live in a v natural area but i enjoy exploring and taking photos wherever i go :) appreciating the little things in life is a v cottagecore ideal, yknow?

i rly think cottagecore is more abt the vibes and personality and what u appreciate tho. i try every day to notice even one thing i love and appreciate, usually in nature, just a little thing to cheer me up. i love the mountains near my home so its usually just gazing at those for a moment, which helps me feel connected to cottagecore coz it makes me daydream abt the idyllic life :)

this can be complicated when you live with parents, especially if they’re unsupportive but here are some ideas!

save ALL glass jars and bottles! i’m telling you they’re so useful. if you need an excuse, say you have a craft project in mind, you want to put fairy lights in them or you need them for school :)

go foraging! this doesn’t have to be crazy. collect things around you, like sticks (for wands) collect nettles! mugwort can be found by most roadsides! dry out needles, go to your local park or national trust area! collect rain water and stream water!

you can substitute all herbs for rosemary i’m pretty sure and all crystals for clear quartz! all candles for white ones and all incense for nag champa! all flowers for roses etc :)

crest alter pieces yourself! my amazing friend @ella-ruby12 made an amazing pentagram alter piece from sticks and string for my yule present :)
