The Cypress Falls Anthology ! Cinematic Classics is a blend of various tales ( plots ) taking place within the sleepy weird little town of Cypress Falls. Where all autumnal seasonal, horror, spookies and the weird are conjoined in one locale. Cypress is born on the little foundations of folklore, true crime and psychology as its claim to fame is a prestigious college known as Falls University: where its academic futures of psychology students go a long way. Besides their critically acclaimed academic side, Cypress is a treasure trove of urban legends drowning in such storied fare as: teens dialing 666 to reach hell dating back to the 1980s; a drive-in massacre from 1957; an ancient grove in the surrounding forest said to house a well that is a portal to hell and so on.

The town is a picturesque piece of heaven with small town values. Very close knit as a community with an overall lovely fall aesthetic with mild summers, an oddity itself but one local residents favor. As for the locals it’s hard to come by any who will not be suspicious of newcomers. There is a real negative mentality towards outsiders or anything that does not quite fit the norm. However their norm is not as conventional as others would perceive: supernatural beings, horrible incidents and frightening landmarks ruin the normalcy.

Spooky season means diving into various plots with a horror or supernatural flair and basing them in this particular location. No plot connects to the other. Hence the aforementioned title of anthology: a collection of varying stories in different universes. The one central theme to anything taking place in Cypress Falls is the locale itself. If we are doing any spooky season plots from now until Nov. they will mostly fall under this plot event.

Its been a while since ive posted anything Parasynth, so I thought id make these polaroid-inspired drawings to make up for it!

As an added bonus-- I have nicknames for the guys! I actually made these a while back, but I figured id post them here for organization purposes, and so its easier to differentiate when talking about Parasynth.

The nicknames + my reasons behind choosing them listed below the cut!

Blue "Polaris" - Also known as the "north star", polaris is the only stationary star in the night sky, commonly used as a compass for navigation. A star that symbolizes stability when you've lost your way.

Dream "Apollo/Pol" - Named after the Greek god of the sun, music, medicine, and archery, twin brother to Artemis. Went with this because of the twin thing and sun symbolism, plus the healer and archery association.

Ink "Opal" - Opal is a gemstone that shines with rainbow colors. A true opal gem also has a base color of white, which fits with Ink's whole thing. Ink also calls others "pal" so I thought the name would be a nice reference to that.

Axe "Condor/Kon" - A large scavenger bird, related to the vulture. One species of it is the largest flying bird in the world. A condor's head also has no feathers, which kinda reminds me of Axe's skull.

Nightmare "Artemis/Arte" - Named after the Greek goddess of the moon and the hunt, twin sister to Apollo. Chosen for the same reasoning as Dream's nickname. Artemis is also the goddess of wilderness and wild animals, which fits with the gang (in a "they're a group and they are dangerous" way).

Killer "Shrike" - A cute little passerine bird that is known to impale its prey on sharp things, usually thorns. Shrikes are also known as "butcher birds". I think it fits with his vibe, plus shrikes have these black markings over their eyes that remind me of Killer's eyes.

Dust "Owl" - A nocturnal bird that has eerily silent flight and large eyes that reflect light in the dark so it looks like its glowing. I was in between this one and "Kestrel", but I feel like Owl fits Dust's general vibe better.

Cross "Cypress/Cy" - A tree that symbolizes longevity and endurance, but also mourning. It's also associated with protection and strength. I was looking for stuff that was associated with the goddess Artemis and the cypress tree was one (also the gang as birds and Cross as the tree they rest on).

Error "Oregano" - An herb that has a very strong bitter/peppery taste and smell. It's known to have antiviral properties and other benefits, but it is best used in small amounts. I also chose this name to parallel Opal (rock VS plant).

hello! it's amy! if you follow my personal account, you'd already know what this is. body double is a side project that i do for fun inbetween infamous, just for when i need to refresh my brain! i decided to make a blog for it so i don't flood my personal account with this game lol.

This game is a side project that I do when I need inspiration for Infamous. That means development on it will be sloooow. Infamous is my main priority right now!

Body Double is a an interactive story that takes place in a cyberpunk inspired world where top secret operatives of an elusive Cypress Industries have the unique ability to jump bodies.

Agent Sawyer is the best Agent in the business, tasked with protecting Cypress Industries and all of its assets.

Until three weeks ago.

Framed for the president's murder and in a last-ditch effort to save their ass, they switch bodies with our regular, ordinary IT-tech MC...who is now walking in the body of a suspect the entire city is looking for. Stuck in a citywide manhunt, MC is now on the run with a pesky Agent who refuses to tell them where their body is. To make matters worse, Agent Sawyer's subconcious is stuck in their head, speaking to them like a pest MC can't shake off.

Wonderful.

With a help of a host of characters from Sawyer's past and MC's present, MC will have to throw themself in a conspiracy to clear Sawyer's name and get back to normal. Relatively. No pressure.

The usual IF stuff: customize your mc from personality to appearance. Unsurprisingly from me, BODY DOUBLE is a character driven story with a focus on relationship dynamics, angst and drama...but this time with action.

Mold Sawyer in the prologue and be stuck with them in your head for the rest of the story. Are they humorous? Stoic? Vulgar? Emotional? Arrogant? You decide.

Romance characters like Sawyer's ex (messy) or the human-mech hybrid trying to kill you (messy) or your measly IT tech friend who has no idea what the hell is going on but they're a trooper. Or an AI. Your call.

Try to uncover a conspiracy and solve a murder in a cyberpunk setting.

Don't die?

SAWYER [RO][customizable]: the agent accused of murder. The wires get crossed when they switch bodies with you, and somehow you have their subconcious in your head. They refuse to switch back until you help clear their name even though you're in their body, which means people are after you now. Asshole move, really.

ROACH: Sawyer's twin brother and perpetual hermit. As a hacker, he has eyes all over the city. He also misses his sibling, so he's determined to see it through.

AGENT BECK [f or m] [RO]: A cool and intimidating fellow Agent of Cypress Industries...and Sawyer's ex partner. Sawyer dumped them, broke their heart, and since then, ghosted them (as one does.) With that said, Beck is determined to help you. And them. Just make sure to try to ignore the longing looks they send your way. It's not towards you, of course.

CAI [RO] [f, m or nb models] : Cypress AI or CAI is Sawyer's former field partner. Honest, cold and emotionless, you can't believe CAI is actually helping you. It must be going against their every makeup to go against Cypress, but having someone like them on your side is beneficial, at least.

HAWKE [m][RO]: the mech-human hybrid tasked with hunting you down. Well, hunting Sawyer down. Their one mission is to see you (Sawyer) dead, which poses a problem so as long as you're in this body. So there's that.

SOLANA [f][RO]: the elusive club owner...and the last person to see the president alive. You can't tell if Solana is an ally or an enemy, but you do know the one thing that drives her is power. Good to keep an eye on her, anyway.

AXL [nb] [RO]: the wealthy child of the now dead president and new heir of Cypress Industries. They hate your (Sawyer's) guts. They have hired all the best operatives and assassins to take you (Sawyer) down, and will stop and nothing to get their justice. If only you could convince them otherwise...

MAV [f or m] [RO]: your best friend and fellow IT employee. A trooper, who decides to be your sidekick on this weird...journey. No biggie. Make sure they don't die.

Hiwaga also keeps it a secret that he has a little Brother. He doesn't have any magic and is a muggle. Lua was a toddler when Hiwaga enrolled in Hogwarts. But some of his friends knew when they visited to his house. He has no control on this one because it was his mother who invited them and yet the friends still don't know the name of Hiwaga's mother lol.

Cassandra

It was Cassandra who Hiwaga first met at hogwarts instead of Ivy. At first he even become one of Cassandra's sorta henchman with the Frey twins. Hiwaga seems like a pushover where Cassandra keeps ordering him around but Hiwaga is actually the one using her as a shield when something bad happens and to make him look weak and harmless by others, which is a success. Though they bond with their interest in plants.

Frey twins

The Frey twins dislike Hiwaga being one that Cassandra trust because they thought of him as weak, coward and probably useless. Thanks to this, Hiwaga find them easy to control to create chaos and the twins are easy to blame for it. But he keeps in good terms with them for this

Ivy and Daniel

Hiwaga started with the group of Cassandra and after he helped on finding ivy, he started to hang out with Ivy and Daniel and become his "friends". Hiwaga is interested of the two's secret and wanted to get involved with it. Also he felt that he can use the two for potions and charms and perhaps in searching of their secrets, he will discover something related to his secret as well. The longer Hiwaga spends more time with them, his negative perspective of witch and wizards changes.

Robin and Kevin

Hiwaga finds it fun and interesting of the two's relationship. Despite Hiwaga disliking the idea of romance on himself, he is very invested to the slow progress of the romance of the two and sometimes, he secretly creates a scenario for the two to have a progress on their relationship.

His magic awakened experience went horrible that leads to cursing himself and his mother. As a kid who doesnt know magic at first, he blames himself so much that after he learns about magic from his dad, he become scared of it. But he turn his scared to hatred of magic when he enrolled in hogwarts.

His magic most of the time is destructive that sometimes hurt others unintentionally in a way he doesn't like and he find it difficult to control it except if his intention is to hurt them.

He dislike witch and wizards for they can use magic that benefited them and yet hide it from the muggles. He finds it selfish and doesn't trust them

He didn't plan to enroll at hogwarts at first, but he started seeing vision of the past. A memory that seems to not exist but can help him to stop the curse he put to himself and to his mother.

His dislike of wizarding world makes him find joy to see it in chaos.

Though in time with spending more with other witches and wizards, he will change his perspective and sees his evil act should be minimized so it won't affect to people he slowly cares about.

When he cursed himself, some of his hair turned into blue. To avoid remembering it, he dyed his hair red and wore a glasses.

He always got candies in his pockets

He likes helping or assisting others. It is his way to observe people or to gather information

Hiwaga's love for dancing is influenced when he saw his parents dancing in their living room when he was young

Who is Thanatos?

Thanatos is the personification or the spirit of death. In this way, Thanatos is considered a daimon in the original meaning, a spirit.

Thanatos was often depicted as a young male with wings, but occasionally he was depicted as an older man with a beard. He as well as his twin brother, Hypnos, are seen in ancient art holding torches turned upside down.

His role in mythology is a psychopomp—a being who carries the souls of the dead to the underworld. Though he was often referred to in myths, he rarely appeared physically.

Though there are no ancient cults known to be dedicated to Thanatos, there have been traces of sacrifices left to him as well as a temple in Sparta.

In one myth, Zeus commands Hypnos and Thanatos to carry the dead body of the warrior Sarpedon off of the battlefield and to the country of Lykia so that he could be given a proper burial.

Other popular stories involving Thanatos are the story of Sisyphus and the story of Hercules wrestling Thanatos.

Thanatos has been depicted in art as a youth holding a butterfly or an inverted torch. The former represents a soul (the greek word for butterfly can also mean life or soul), and the ladder represents a life having been extinguished. He is also seen with a wreath of poppies or a sword.

In art and literature, Thanatos is also depicted as a cloud or mist that hangs above a person’s head who is soon to die.

He lives in the Underworld with his twin brother.

In some myths he is considered cruel, in others, he is considered sweet, as he is peaceful death. The descriptors chosen would likely depend on the writer’s outlook on death.

hi mila!! a follow up to the date ask: how would the ros comfort mc if the date went terrible? hehe thank you <3

Cypress is, surprisingly to some, a good listener and advice giver. Their eyes would flit over the mc and they’d say, “the date being terrible isn’t fault of your own, maybe you were just on a date with the wrong person.” As them and the mc register the last of those words I imagine them staring at each other, trying to decipher whether those words had any hidden meaning behind them. Then Cy would blink, glance towards their kitchen and try to find something to busy themselves so they don’t have to worry about their feelings.

E would snort and say, “that shit wouldn’t happen if you went on a date with me”. It’s said jokingly haha, not really, and E would notice how upset the mc is and they’d say, “I’ll even prove it to you” and they’d go all soft and romantic, they’d muster up the courage to hold out a hand for the mc to take and say, “may I have the honour of taking you out to make up for your last date?”

L would feel bad for wanting the date to go terribly, and they can’t tell the mc they wanted their date to go badly so…they’d swerve the topic and their feelings and say “when I feel sad, or stressed, or if we lose a game I bake something”—it’s something so simple but L’s never revealed that about themselves to anyone (who isn’t their twin brother)—it’s something they keep to themselves because it’s theirs alone. And then they’d go, “fancy baking something with me?” Funnily enough, the gesture would make L sink into the crushing stage even more because baking with someone they have feelings for is one of their fave fantasies, if you will.

Milan would instantly go, “how can a date with you go badly? We’re not together and even I know you’re a catch.” And then they would exceptionally bad mouth the mc’s date before the night turns into a ‘Milan St. Clair self-care special’: it’s your favourite movies, your favourite food, a Spotify playlist acting as background noise. And as the night goes on Milan and the mc find themselves sitting closer and closer towards each other, and Milan would debate whether they should say something because it may ruin the moment but they go with their gut and whisper, “you know I’d never hurt you, right?”

N wouldn’t like the fact that the mc’s date went terribly. Sure, they hate the mc, but seeing them hurt and upset and wanting to see that would be cruel. I imagine N would arch a brow and think ‘well, what the fuck do you want me to do??’ but then they’d sigh and say, “you probably have a million other people you can talk to but…if you want to talk about the shit date with me, then you can.” N would curse themselves for saying it because they should be pushing you away, not giving you reason to stay…but they seem to find out that the mc’s presence isn’t…the worst thing in the world.

The SimDonian Royal Family wished you a Happy Winterfest in New Photo

After causing lots of excitement outside Willington Palace, a new photo was published to the SimDonia Royal Family’s Simstagram showcasing the celebration happening inside! The entire Royal Family gathered for a family photo to celebrate Winterfest highlighting some of the decor inside, as well. The dress code for the photo was clearly SimDonian red. Let’s take a closer look at the Royals appearing in the image!

Starting at the top left, we have Grand Duke Ian and Grand Duchess Sarah of Parkshore. They appear next to their daughter, Elena, Duchess of Parkshore and her husband, Beckett, Duke of Parkshore. The Grand Duke’s grandchildren, Miss April and Mister Becket Jr. Lockwood are also pictured. To the top right, is HRH King Brother and his wife the former Grand Duchess of Sage. The couple have mostly kept out of the spotlight since the abdication, so we’re excited to see Spencer’s new look! On the bottom is TRH Grand Duke and Duchess of Ophelia with their daughter Duchess Stephanie of Ophelia.

On the opposite side of the tree in the top left is TRH Grand Duke and Duchess of Hallow Slough. For the first time, we catch a glimpse of their newborn twins whose names are yet to be revealed. Next to them is HRH Grand Duchess Bria of Umbrage with her daughter, Ella, the Duchess of Umbrage. We were surprised to see Countess Olivia in the photo and believe this is confirmation that she is dating Bria’s eldest son. To the top right is TRH Grand Duke and Duchess of Cypress with their daughter, Duchess Stacy of Cypress. On the bottom is HRH Grand Duke Emmitt of Umbrage being embraced by his daughter, Duchess Rose. He’s seated next to his stepsons, Grayson and Gianni Wu-Ravikumar.

Last but certainly not least, sitting poised and gracefully in the center is TRH Grand Duchess and Duke of Sage, HRH Prince Gerhard, HM Queen Diana, and their son, Crown Prince Parker, Duke of Sage. What a beautiful family and celebration!
