Any opinions about ukrainian selection? Songs are out
youtube
I know most people is already rooting for Jerry Heil (because of her song talking about war and her seeming to be a great artist - so they say, I don't know the girl) but I'm supporting FIINKA and her slutty folk song ahahah I must try and find out a translation for the lyrics... Her voice reminds me of LOBODA so much, too.
I also enjoy TVORCHI, Krutь and Demchuk (not very original, though).
The rest is very forgettable, especially Angelina, Tember Blanche and OY Sound System (ouch).

“A poem is an interruption of silence, whereas prose is a continuation of noise,” the poet Billy Collins once said. Poets and lyrically minded prose writers see the written word rather as Quaker worship sees the spoken word: they think it more powerful if it emerges out of and is separated by silence. Writing and reading online, we struggle to find this silence out of which words can materialise and be contemplated. There is too much speaking and reacting, and not enough listening and reflecting.
It’s time to unveil the cover of Embroidered Worlds: Fantastic Fiction from Ukraine and the Diaspora, as well as the list of thirty authors and their stories!
Taras Kopansky is the Ukrainian artist who created the art, "Metahutsulka" for the cover. His piece is inspired by Mykola Senkovsky’s famous 1926 photograph “Old Hutsulka” that won the Grand Prix at the European International Exhibition in Paris.
The translated stories have working titles, since our translators are working on them at the moment, but they will give you an idea of what you have to look forward to:

God for us, we call you Father
God alongside us, we call you Jesus,
God within us, we call you Holy Spirit
You are the Eternal mystery
That enables, enfolds, and enlivens all things,
Even us, and even me.
Every name falls short of your goodness and greatness.
We can only see who You are in what is.
We ask for perfect seeing.
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be.
AMEN

In my tradition Jesus is the guiding star, the foundation stone for understanding what right belief and right action look like. The Spirit of Christ is available to us as a truthful guide (John 16:13), leading us into salvation, which according to Jesus is abundant life (John 10:9). This life is found in the raising up of 'the least of these' (Matthew 25:31-46), the hungry and thirsty, the stranger, the poor, the sick and the imprisoned.
