Thousands of Good Deeds - can you give us a snippet of this idea/fic?? 😍😍😍
i’d love to 🤭 especially considering i’ve just this very second finished chapter 9 so you’ve caught me at a wonderful time!
so. Hitman Remus. DCI Sirius. crime au. mostly.
it’s also rosekiller, dorlene and jily. it was supposed to be silly and camp and then i accidentally gave them all tragic back stories and we seem to have gotten caught up in it all. i’ll give you a lil wolfstar snippet first:
“ Back in Black ?”
“Something wrong with it?” Remus was trying desperately to hold back the grin trying to spread across his face.
“No, not at all.” Sirius returned. “It’s a great album. It’s just… that’s my surname.”
“What is?”
“Black. My surname is Black, when I was a teenager I was pretty adamant that ‘ Back in Black ’ was my theme tune.” Black said.
Remus chuckled, “And were you worthy of having an entire theme tune to yourself, then, Black?”
“Oh, I’d say so,” Black said, fingers running up and down the record fondly. “Much mischief was managed back in those days.”
and a lil rosekiller one🤭
Barty thought many times about the darkness that lived within himself. Coming from the family that he had, he was sure in his heart that he must be inherently bad. Evil. But Evan had this ability to show Barty the good parts of himself. Evan’s spirit was bright, so bright that some of it reflected on to Barty. Evan had had a rough life, too, but he was different to Barty. He was still soft, in the best way. He was good. Like, properly good. Barty figured he could probably follow Evan into hell itself and still be able to find the silver lining.

If we want to save Dead Boy Detectives from being canceled after one season, we must ask the Marauders girlies for help.
They'll look at George and Jayden and go "OMG new Remus and Sirius fancasts just dropped." Then they'll binge the show a thousand times. (I've got this all planned)
THEY CAN SAVE US-

The fact that an evil witch who feeds little girls to a snake and tortured ghosts created a gay boy whose only interests are astrology and a dead Edwardian detective out of a crow will never not be funny to me

Prompt 9 - Detective AU
@wolfstarmicrofic April 9, word count 999
CW- Dead bodies
Sirius Black looked down at the mauled body. This case was taking its toll on him. This was the fourth body they’d found. Each one left after the full moon. The press had nicknamed the killer ‘The Wolf’.
He sipped his coffee and grimaced as the flurry of forensic personnel moved around the area.
“Shit another one?” James Potter sighed as he ducked under the crime scene tape.
“Yup,” Sirius grunted.
“Same bite marks?”
“Yup,”
“Any leads?”
“Nope,” Sirius drained his coffee cup and dug his keys out of his leather jacket. “I’m going back to the station. Get them to send me anything they find.” He waved at the forensic guys and left.
It took them days to sort through the evidence. But those little geniuses managed to use the teeth marks from all the previous cases and find whose mouth they belonged to.
Sirius looked down at the photograph of the mild-looking man.
Remus Lupin had been a teacher but disappeared a few years ago. He was pretty average-looking, apart from the myriad of scars that sliced across his face. But Sirius just couldn’t get rid of the feeling that this was the wrong guy.
Another month and another body. Sirius was sick of this case. He had multiple people out looking for Lupin, but so far, nothing. Then, after an anonymous tip, Sirius tracked him down.
He approached the run-down shack cautiously. He had backup waiting in case he needed it.
He pushed open the door and shone his torch into the building. He checked the downstairs, but the rooms were clear.
He crept up the staircase and peered around the first door.
Remus was curled up under a ratty old blanket on the filthiest mattress Sirius had ever seen.
“Remus Lupin?” He said clearly. The man’s head shot up. His eyes were full of panic. It was definitely him. “Remus Lupin, you’re under arrest.” Sirius began reciting the legal words to take the man into custody. He pulled out his handcuffs and was relieved when Lupin didn’t put up a fight. Sirius spoke into his radio, letting his team know he’d got him.
He had to help him to his feet as he was very malnourished. “I’ll ensure you get a hot meal once they finish processing you.” He didn’t know why he’d said it, but he did.
He bundled Lupin into the back of the police car but couldn’t shake the feeling that he’d just arrested the wrong person.
Remus sat across from him in the interview room, cradling a cup of tea. He’d answered every question Sirius and James had asked him. He had no alibi for any of the killings.
“It’s hard to have one when you live in an abandoned shack.” Remus had joked sadly. Sirius felt a twinge in his heart.
“Why did you leave teaching?” James asked. “From what we can gather. One day, you just up and left. You completely disappeared.” Remus didn’t answer straight away like he had for all the other questions. He looked scared. More scared than when Sirius had arrested him.
“Who’s after you?” Sirius asked, leaning forward, concern leaking into his features. Remus swallowed but didn’t break his eye contact with Sirius.
“There was a guy. I-I-I thought he was a good guy. He promised to look after me but he—he turned out to be a really bad man. He told me he was going to ruin my life after I broke things off. He sent a bunch of his gang to my house. They did this.” He pointed to his face. “I fled. I quit my job, left my flat and ran. But it’s hard to get a job when you can’t use you’re real name or have a fixed address, so…” He trailed off, letting the detectives come to their own conclusions.
“Does this guy have a name?” Sirius asked. Remus’s eyes swam with unshed tears.
“Fenrir Greyback.”
Greyback wasn’t hard to find. He had a rap sheet a mile long, and the kicker was the man had a full set of dentures.
Sirius had managed to get a search warrant for Fenrir’s home and office. It took hours to go through everything, looking for anything that could tie him to the murders. Remus was still in custody, and while he was safe and warm and had three meals a day, Sirius didn’t want the man to be locked up.
Together, he and James checked every nook and cranny. Then, right before they’d been about to give up, James found something.
Hidden in a box beneath the carpet in an air vent was a set of dentures.
“What’s the betting they’re a match for Lupin’s dental records?” James asked, beaming at his partner.
Once they’d found that first piece of evidence, everything fell into place. CCTV footage appeared showing Greyback dragging one of the victims into the alley where she’d been found, slipping in the dentures and biting her body over and over.
Sirius was the one who gave Remus the good news that he was free to go. He’d had to catch the man as he crumpled with relief.
“Where will you go?” Sirius asked. He knew his gut had been right all along. He’d only needed to find the evidence to back it up. But he was worried about the skinny man he’d formed a relationship with. Remus shrugged.
“I can use my name again. So I can apply for teaching jobs.”
“That’s not what I asked Remus.” Sirius folded his arms. Remus shrugged again.
“I don’t have an answer for you.” Sirius rolled his eyes and shook his head. He pulled a set of keys out of his pocket and tossed them to Remus.
“12 Grimmauld Place. Pick whichever room you want apart from the one at the end that one’s mine.” Remus grabbed Sirius and hugged him.
“Thank you for everything.” He whispered into his ear before he walked out into the bright sunshine and freedom.

Detective AU - @wolfstarmicrofic - Word Count - 146
"You kept six hostages for months, almost shot multiple of our detectives, you-". Remus begun, sliding his hands on the cold metal table.
"Oh you just know everything don't you" Sirius interrupts, a sly smirk spreading across his rosy pink lips.
"I know everything about you" He confirmed, his confidence beginning to waver.
"What, you in love in with me or something" The boy with curly hair spoke sultrily to the cop. Tilting his head down, making those eyes up at him.
"No that's a crazy thing to say" Remus laughs, his confidence fully crumbling under the weight of his stare.
Remus kept his eyes trained on the man in front of him. The man he had spent the last five years going crazy over. The criminal he had finally caught, with no help from anyone.
The killer that he had somehow fallen in love with.

@wolfstarmicrofic March 4 – prompt 4: Avada Kedavra – word count 773
Avada Kedavra - the killing curse
“I hate it I hate I hate it I really, really, really hate it.”
James patted Peter’s shoulder.
“I know, mate,” he said, smiling over his book. “I hate it too.”
Across the table they were sitting at in the library, Remus nodded. Seventh year was tough enough without having to thoroughly study the Unforgivable Curses. At least they didn’t have to practice them as they did with other spells, but the long pages of the horrible effects those curses had had on the poor people who had been targeted by them was still taxing. Remus and James were already on the last chapter, dedicated to the most definitive of the three, Avada Kedavra, the killing curse. Peter, however, was still staring at the first chapter about the Imperius Curse.
“It’s awful…” he murmured. “Someone could force you to do anything, even stuff you’d rather die than do.”
“A dream for any Dark Wizard,” Remus nodded gloomily. “You just need a handful of followers, no need to convince the masses if you can use that.”
“Someone could be told to kill and would have to do it,” Peter went on with a shiver. “Someone could curse me to kill you James, and I wouldn’t know how to stop it.”
“I know Pete,” James’s hand made soothing motions on Peter’s shoulder. “We’re lucky we’re living in times of peace.”
“Yes, no Dark Wizards on the horizon,” Remus added, forcing a smile to lighten the mood.
Peter sighed and went back to his page, while Remus turned to his right, where Sirius was sitting in silence, which was odd for him. He noticed it immediately. The jaw set, a muscle spasming in it, the fists closed so tight the knuckles were white.
“Sirius?”
Sirius didn’t even acknowledge his voice, so Remus looked at the book opened in front of him. A page thick with words was side by side with an illustration of a witch brandishing her wand towards a crouching figure in front of her, the face distorted in pain. The use of the Cruciatus Curse, the description said.
“Oh, baby,” Remus breathed, sliding closer to Sirius.
They all remembered the summer before sixth year, when Sirius had turned up at the Potters’ in such a state Monty and Effie had alerted the Aurors who had come to a unanimous conclusion: along with a slicing curse, the Cruciatus Curse had been used on Sirius by his mother. The fact that Walburga Black had never suffered any consequence for her actions was a demonstration of how the system failed as soon as it was against families like the Sacred Twenty-eight, but they had all focused on one thing: Sirius was safe now. Still, the memories of that house, and of what had happened that night lingered. James had learned the best ways to help Sirius through his panic attacks, Peter could now tell with precision when he was going to get worse and Remus woke up the minute he sensed Sirius having another nightmare, so he could move to his bed if they weren’t in the same one already and slowly wake him up before cuddling with him until he stopped crying.
Remus slowly took Sirius’s hands in his, delicately but firmly opening his fists. He clicked his tongue twice and didn’t need to look up to see the other two spring into action: the book disappeared from the table, slid in the bag by James along with all of Sirius’s things, Peter was already at the door to make his way down to the kitchens as quick as possible.
“Come on baby,” Remus whispered, getting up. “Let’s go take a walk.”
They ended up by the lake in the late spring warmth, a display of muffins and chocolate before them and their school books forgotten in their bags. After a while, Sirius’s cloudy gaze relaxed and he came back to them, leaning against Remus who had his arms wrapped around him.
“Studying sucks,” he said, his voice vaguely trembling.
“It really does,” Peter nodded.
“How about we call it quits for today?” James said, halfway through his third blueberry muffin. “We can go fly a few laps on the Quidditch pitch later on, what do you think Pads? Or even try some new strategies, Pete can get the megaphone and tell us what to do.”
“I’d like that,” Sirius sighed, before craning his neck so he could look at Remus behind him. “Can you come and watch Moony? Just for a while?”
“Of course,” Remus smiled, before taking a large piece of chocolate and putting it before Sirius’s mouth. “Now eat. You’ll feel better.”

Connection
Is this Jily enough for @jilymicrofics? I don’t know. Do I want to share it with all of you because it’s a little spin-off of Obsession? Yes. Set some time after the Epilogue, all thanks to @microficmay’s prompt 22. As always, you can read this as a stand alone or enjoy it as part of something bigger.
Prompts: Undercover (prompt 22); Precious
Words: 183
“Undercover? After all you’ve been through to get away from your family’s shady dealings?” Lily asked in disbelief, her gaze jumping from her husband to his partner, unable to decide where it was wisest to land it, as she rocked her son to sleep.
“I’m the only one who can do it,” Sirius replied, but something in his tone, or perhaps in his strained expression, betrayed a certain restlessness at the idea. His mind was probably set on Remus, on the possibility he could get hurt because of him and his dedication to his job.
“The important thing is that he doesn’t get caught, or none of us will be safe,” James added, his words a grim reminder of what the Death Eaters, as the group of criminals Sirius was supposed to infiltrate were called, did to everyone who crossed them. “Don’t worry,” he rejoined, trying to crack a smile. “Tomorrow I’ll begin to prepare the necessary to lead a clean field operation and I’ll be back before you notice, just in time to properly spoil my precious godson for his first birthday.”
