Taeil

Talks to the adults and enjoys it.

Some of the babies originally thought he was their uncle.

Not necessarily close with any of his cousins except the older ones that took care of him growing up.

The younger ones aren’t too familiar with him since he doesn’t talk to them, but he likes to give them little trinkets when he sees them.

Will offer to supervise the kiddos if they want to go outside.

Has a music degree (big no no in this stereotypical family) and works in music production.

Johnny

The cousin that’s stuck in college, everyone loves him but the adults don’t think he is a good life example to the youngsters.

Second favourite of the adults (because the favourite has a degree and a job).

Likes talking w his fellow millennials while sipping his wine

He likes to give advice to high school cousins.

The baby cousins fear him :( He smiles at them lots and gets them the best presents to make up for it.

Is probably still in college because he doesn’t want to join the adult table.

Taeyong

Taeyong likes the babies.

He’ll sit them on his lap while he talks to the adults, making sure to play with them a bit so they don’t get bored.

If they do anyway, he’ll get up and carry them back to the rest of the cousins, chatting with them for a while.

The adults think he would make a great father. (Some of the nosy aunts and uncles like asking about his love life lmao)

He treats the cousins around his age or older with respect.

Overall everyone likes him because he’s happy to talk and easy to get along with.

Yuta

A social genius, he tailors his approach perfectly for every generation.

Has to greet every single child at the reunion before doing anything else.

Every moment you look at him, there’s a different youngster in his arms and he’s high-fiving a different high schooler.

Well-mannered with the adults and friendly with cousins of all ages.

The high school-aged cousins love that he doesn’t treat them like angsty teenagers and he’s become a favourite among them.

Not jobless, to the relief of the parents.

Kun

Kun is the favourite, the cousin everyone gets compared to.

He’s always busy working so he’s usually late to family gatherings.

Is basically whisked away by the adults immediately to talk about adult things.

He asks high school cousins “How’s school?”. Chill with them because he saw them grow up.

Has a huge soft spot for the baby cousins.

He’ll be in the middle of a conversation and drop everything when they tug on his sleeve.

Doyoung

Quiet, he does and talks about anything but only when he’s prompted.

He’s as successful as Kun, but not as sociable.

Sits beside his parents most of the night and minds his own business.

Doyoung’s awful at supervision.

He just sits there and watches the kids make chaos.

His relatives get shocked when they see him outside of gatherings acting casually with his coworkers/friends.

Ten

He just got out of college but decided to take a year break before looking for a job.

Is a kid favourite.

Even though he’s one of the older cousins, he’s the most “hip with the kids”.

Teaches them how to cheat on tests and in general, be an awful student.

Ten does not enjoy the adult table.

All the parents think he’s talented and has a lot of potential but will he!! Stop ruining their children’s minds!!!!!

He only gets friendly with the older cousins when he’s wine drunk.

Has never met the baby cousins. (The adults are sheltering them from the chaos that is Ten at family gatherings.)

Jaehyun

Jaehyun starts off by greeting the adults and being the sweetheart he is.

The adults always want to know about his love life because “Our nephew is very handsome, no?”

Hangs out with the older cousins later, drinking beer and chatting away like best friends.

He enjoys watching them fight with each other.

Probably the youngest at his table, gets teased quite a bit. (”Yoooooo, Yoonoh’s growing up!”)

The younger kids aren’t really familiar with him.

Winwin

The favourite among the youngest cousins.

They get excited to see him every time he arrives at family gatherings.

Participates in their games (They like making him count for hide and seek.) and sits with them while eating.

He spends very small amounts of time with the adults, quickly answering any questions they have about his life.

The older cousins think he’s cute :(

After the little ones go home, he watches whatever drinking game his generation has gotten into.

Jungwoo

Jungwoo is a free soul.

He’s just there to entertain himself, watching whatever cartoon the little ones are watching.

When they turn around and see a grown man on the couch, they’re a bit startled.

The adults think he enjoys taking care of the kids, but no. The boy is there to watch Tom and Jerry for his own enjoyment.

Nobody remembers that he’s an engineering student, one moment he’s watching Blue’s Clues and the next he’s leaving to finish an assignment for class.

The high schoolers try to ask him for advice, but he just says “I literally don’t know what I’m doing.”

Lucas

This boy walks into every family gathering dressed like he’s gonna be on a runway.

Enjoys talking to the high schoolers about how their school’s changed since he graduated.

Other than them, he joins any conversation on invite.

The youngsters climb him like he’s a playground item.

There’s just kids hanging off him while he laughs at some joke his uncle made.

Sometimes, they shout “Big brother Yukhei!” into his ear and he just pats their head silently before continuing on with his business.

Mark

Follows his parents around.

He’s wrapped up in his own thoughts instead of whatever his mom is talking about with his relatives.

I’m kinda hungry, should I grab that cookie? I’m gonna grab that cookie.

At some point, his parents get fed up with him “acting like an eight year old,” so he gets sent to play with his fellow cousins.

Asks for the WiFi password and then sits on the couch all night scrolling through his phone.

He doesn’t talk to his cousins because he never knew how to.

Xiaojun

A sweetheart with the most patience.

Same question from every single adult about school? No problem, he’ll answer it as many times as he needs to.

The youngsters like to pull pranks on him because they know he won’t scold them afterwards.

“Did we get you good, Dejun-ge?” “Yeah, I almost had a heart attack, haha.”

Helps the babies get food.

Just has a great family bond with everyone.

Hendery

Hendery likes to look for the older cousins that take care of him, initiating conversation.

If they’re busy or stop talking to him, he goes to the crowd of younger cousins on the couch and chills with his phone.

Occasionally, he’ll show them all some memes he has.

“Haha, guys look at this one.”

Mimics the children screaming in the background to get some chuckles from them, too.

The adults don’t think much of him, he’s a chill kid doing his thing.

Renjun

He’s quiet and polite for the most part, especially towards the adults.

With his cousins, he jumps in to say one-line roasts about people mentioned in conversation and then goes back to being silent.

They might say something like “My school friends are so weird!” and Renjun simply replies with “Makes sense why you’re friends, then.”

One of the baby cousins likes to hug his leg, and he smooths their hair or holds their cheek absentmindedly.

An art major, but the adults aren’t worried since he’s smart.

When alone in a room, he’s doodling on some scrap paper he found.

Jeno

Close with the cousins around his age.

Has a group chat with them and texts them to come to the living room.

When they arrive he just goes “Wanna play Spaceteam?”

He plays party games with them for the rest of the night.

If the other cousins want to join in, he’ll teach them how to play.

The adults don’t think much of him, they usually just ask how he is and he replies with “Good!” and a smile.

Haechan

Haechan is The Annoying Cousin™.

He comes off as very cold and bitchy usually.

At family gatherings, he participates in games and gets overly competitive.

WILL cheat or flip the table, causes all the chaos.

The parents aren’t a fan of him, the kids either love him or hate him.

Older cousins think he’s entertaining lmao

Jaemin

Normal until some random kid screams his name.

From then on he is in full kindergarten teacher mode.

Brings an entire crowd of noisy toddlers to the tables and everyone is just in shock.

His older cousins know he’ll come around and chat with them once the kids go home, so they save him a bottle when he gets there.

The adults have a good image of him: handsome, smart, charming. They think he’ll get married early.

It’s a celebration if his mom announces he’s seeing someone.

Yangyang

Starts heated debates among his cousins.

If he’s in the zone and an older cousin tries to put an educational twist on the argument, he’ll start bullying them out of the room.

“From what I learnt in college--” “THIS IS A DEBATE AMONGST THE YOUTH.”

Two seconds later, he’s back to being friendly and cheery, talking casually and normally.

The adults don’t believe their children when they tell them what happened upstairs with Yangyang.

They think he’s the sweetest kid of the bunch.

Chenle

Chenle is just comfortable and gets absorbed in the atmosphere.

“Chenle, go play with your cousins.” “Hey guys! My mom said to play with you”.

All his cousins get along with him.

He thinks the baby cousins are cute and will baby them.

Lets them sit on his lap while he plays card games. (Probably lets them choose cards for him sometimes, too.)

Youngest of his generation, everyone loves him to pieces.

Jisung

He does not want to be at the family gatherings.

Awkwardly trails his parents because he doesn’t know what to do.

Has to be pushed towards the food by relatives and just goes “Oh. Um, okay.”

The older cousins ruffle his hair and ask him, “Aye, Jisung! How’s school?” “I-It’s good...”

The younger ones do not find him approachable.

Asks his parents when they’re going home as soon as 9 PM hits.

Dreamies are on their ways, this just ended up being longer than expected haha. I'm.not. sorry.

DOYOUNG:

It was not normal for you two to be fighting. Usually, you solve things by talking things through instead of letting you feel control your words and fight and yell at each other. Do young hated that more than you, but this time it was different. You were arguing and but were yelling at each other, for the first time in two years of relationship. "Sometimes I think dating you is a mistake, " he said to you, without looking at you since all he felt at the moment was rage. He didn't even notice how your eyes were getting watery and how your mouth was partially open. You knew he was always careful with his words, at that he barely let his feeling or the moment say something he doesn't mean. He meant that, and there's nothing you can do about him feeling that way. "Okay, " was the only word you let out.

You grabbed your bag and left without saying anything else, and when you didn't hear him calling out your name your whole world collapsed. You were walking to your apartment that was actually quite far but you had red and puffy eyes and didn't feel like explaining anything to your roommate, so walking there was actually okay for you. You thought that until a couple of blocks away from Doyoung's apartment you saw a mysterious man walking in your direction. You decided it was better to cross the street to avoid him until he crossed the street as well and started following you. You only thought about going back to Doyoung's apartment. You crossed the street again and started running as fast as you could, being thankful that you were athletic and got to his apartment in a minute. You were thankful that the sidewalk of his apartment building had around 6 people around, but either way I did not look back nor thought the has not following me anymore. I typed down the code of the building and got in, closing the door just as fast, locking itself automatically. There was no way in hell you were going back out there tonight, so even though you didn't want to see his face, you only had one choice, and it was to go back to Doyoung's.

You opened the door, closing it behind you and felt how air was entering your lungs all over again.

You fell on the floor and closed your eyes to try and calm down your breathing. You felt like crying, but tears were not coming out and you couldn't care less. You didn't even notice the lights were already off until they were on again and you just saw his face staring at you. He had a frown on his face that made you look away instantly. "I'm sorry I came back but… there was a ma-m-man follow… I can barely speak." You laughed nervously, still shaking from what had happened.

He walked to your direction and stared at you in silence. His eyes looked like he was crying seconds prior, and it was something I couldn't believe. And in a matter of seconds, he fell down to his knees, and pulled you to his chest, caressing your head "I didn't mean what I said, I'm sorry, please forgive what I said I was just being stupid and I didn't think about what I said until you left an—" his voice cracked, causing your tears to finally be released, he let go of the hug to grab your face and look at your puffy eyes. "and my baby almost got mugged?" He hugged you again, this time it was stronger. "how will I ever let you go now?"

You felt more relieved than ever before. One, you didn't get mugged.

Two, you didn't lose the love of your life.

It will take him a few more efforts for you to forgive him fully, but right now it was not the right time to make a scene.

TEN:

"Don't you think it's already enough? I mean, you've been dancing for 5 hours and you need to rest. This is your free day after all." You said looking at him from the door of the practice room. You knew he has been practicing when he was supposed to be at home and you worried a lot about his health. I knew he wanted to do perfect in everything, but there was a limit. He turned around while swiping his sweat off with a hand towel. His eyes fell on you and he nodded. "In a minute, just one last time."

"You said that twenty minutes ago,"

"I know,"

"So let's go." You insisted.

"I said in a minute," but the truth was that you were getting on his nerves, telling him over and over the same thing, and he did the same. "You need to—”

" If you want to leave just do, you don't have to be clinging on me. Don't you have a life? " He said and caught you off guard. And for reason, his words hurt. He didn't yell at you, he said it in the most calm way possible as he turned around to look at himself in the big mirror that covered the wall.

You just cared about his health, and he implied that you didn't have a life aside from him and that you were too clingy. Were you really. You thought you gave him enough space, and him being an idol then that meant you couldn't see each other a lot due to his busy schedule. And yet you were asphyxiating him? There were no words that could leave your lips. So you nodded even, not knowing if he was looking at you or not. To be honest, you were not thinking about that type of stuff. You just silently left. You have had postponed all the work you could to another day to spend it that day with him for nothing. So as soon as you left the SM building, you picked up your phone and started to call your boss to tell her that you were going to be able to finish your work today (Perks of being good friends with your boss), but you got distracted with the call that you didn't noticed going full speed in the street, hopefully some guy pulled you by the arm so you wouldn't be crushed and dead. Either way, you fell to the ground and a lady that backed up as well to save herself fell on your leg. On your bad leg. On the leg, you had a cast just a week ago. You whined but didn't want to say anything to the lady because, in the end, it wasn't her fault. So you stood and picked up your phone that was on the floor. "Uhm, are you there? I will be a little late." You laughed nervously and limped until you found a cab.

Your luck was not with you at all.

After that day you had to put on a cast all over again and worked normally since most of your work was sitting. You ignored Ten's calls for 3 days straight since you didn't feel like talking about anything with him. You just kept remember him saying those words to you, and that was enough for you to feel upset again and ignore his call. I tried to understand why he felt like that towards me and I couldn't understand. "Aren't you answering that?" Your co-worker asked about your phone lighting up and you just shook your head no. "Then what are you going to do about that?" She asked and she pointed at Ten walking to your direction through the glass door, you peeked and then couldn't help but to look again at your work. You had missed him but at the same time you thought about something for those three days, and you were clear of your decision.

Your coworker left as soon as she saw Ten standing in front of your desk. "Can we talk?" He seemed nervous. "I'm working."

"I'll wait," and he sat on the waiting room a few feet away, and waited an hour until your shift was done, just sitting there tapping his right foot over and over. You stood up how you could and grabbed your crutches after putting your purse on your shoulder. And his heart broke, he didn't know you had that again, after having that for a month. He felt awful after realizing he called you clingy when you were nothing near. "Baby, I—"

"Don't bother, sweetie,” you told him as calm as possible, but still feeling that pressure in your heart. He smiled as soon as you called him sweetie. " Let's break up,” you said and walked past him, leaving behind, and his smile fell.

"What? No, bab—"

"I thought if I'm clingy as you said, we could just break up. Because personally, I don't think I'm clingy. But if you do, there's the problem between us." You said, and he stood in front of you.

"I said something I didn't mean. I was feeling stressed over messing up a lot of moves during a show and I obsessed over that."

"I spent two weeks without seeing you. And when I do, that happens. Either way, we will struggle in this relationship. And the truth is that you're not ready for one, you can't barely see me due to work and I understand that, but I can't do this for longer. I love you, but I just can't stand being away from you when you're mine."

His eyes were looking at your face completely as if it were going to disappear and he wanted to study it to depth. "I'm here," he begged with his tone. "C'mon, I will cook for you and treat you good tonight. Yes? We can do this, we've been through a lot, we can work this out." If it wasn't for your hands-on then crutches, they would have been covered by his. You remained silent while he searched for your eyes, that were somewhere else on the verge of crying. "Please,"

JAEHYUN:

You walked to the living room of the dorm where you and Jaehyun we alone since the rest of the boys went outside, a piece of paper on your right hand, feeling extremely happy about the work that you had just done. "I finally finished this song and I'm very excited that you read it." You were a songwriter, that's how you met Jaehyun and fell in love. There were a couple of songs you helped write for NCT and a few more idols, and there was a song stuck in your head that you needed to type down the lyrics fast. You have been working on that song for three weeks straight and now that it was done, you just wanted to show it to him.

He grabbed it and started reading while you were seating beside him on the couch waiting for him to finish. And when he gave you back the piece of paper, you waited for him to tell you how good it was or something like that, but it was not like that. "Is this really done? No offense baby, but it's bad."

"Bad?" You asked, your eyes glued to the paper, rereading the song over and overlooking where it says that it is bad. "Is not bad."

"How are you a songwriter, again?" He said, in a playful tone but it hurt your feelings either way. You laughed slightly in the most sarcastic way possible and then stood up not wishing to see his face at all at the moment. "It's getting late, I'm leaving." You said, grabbing your bag that was on a chair beside the couch you were on. You fixed your eyes to the door and walked to it as fast as you could.

"C'mon, you're pissed about that Y/N? And baby, you were supposed to sleep tonight with me " He stood up to follow you but you closed the door on his face, letting him know that it was a no. He knew it was bad to follow you since you could easily punch him somewhere. He always waits until you calm down and then try to apologize for whatever he does. Either way, he opened the door and saw your figure standing in front of the elevator waiting. "Call me when you get home? Or text me?" You knew he was not going to follow you since you knew he knows you need space right now. And left his sorry eyes staring at you without giving him a response.

You left the dorm and got into a cab that took you to your apartment. But the weird thing was that when you got to your door it was partially open. You don't remember leaving it like that. Did someone break-in? Is that person still inside? You peeked through the crook of the door and saw nothing, no movement, lights off. You saw that the floor was covered in a piece of glass and you cursed right away. You entered the apartment and turned the lights on, and then it was obvious someone broke in and broke stuff and stole stuff. There was nothing important or expensive there so, poor bastard that expected to find something of value. You called the police to report it when you saw the man running in your direction, he pushed you and ran away. You fell on the floor where the glass was and got glass all over your hand since you try to use it as support. "FUCKING ASSHOLE, " you couldn't help but scream when you felt the pain. Immediately you stood up, looked for a towel to cover your hand so the blood wouldn't drip on the floor and went to the hospital right away, only taking your wallet and keys with you. Two hours later, you went back to your apartment to find him sitting in your couch, with his head on his hands. Once he heard your voice of surprise he stood up and wanted to hug you but didn't know if you were going to push him away, but you knew he wanted to run to you. "You didn't call me so I came and saw blood and you left your phone and I couldn't call you and I was worried and—" you shut him up by placing your left and good hand against his mouth. "You're rambling, ”

" I'm sorry for what I said. I misused my words and tried to joke but it wasn't funny to you."

"It's fine, I'm not supposed to write good songs all the time,” you said, watching how he grabbed carefully you by your right wrist and started watching how your hand was wrapped in bandages. And looked at your face like he was about to cry, but tears were not going to come out. "Hug me, "

And so he did, placed his chin on top of your head and pulled to his chest. You explained what had happened while hugging him, he cleaned the mess the stupid man did and spent the whole night with you fixing the half bad/good song. When he explained to you it was true, you could have done way better.

What NCT 2018 Would Call You (all members!)

I think the members would likely use terms of endearment from whatever language you predominantly spoke with each other, or really any of the languages they speak. I included some Korean terms because I can speak Korean and feel comfortable using it lol.

Taeil: Darling/Dear - Taeil seems kind of classic to me, and for some reason can remind me of an old soul LOL. I think these terms would be perfect for him because they aren’t over the top, and embody both an element of being sweet, but also have an old-fashioned vibe. I don’t think Taeil would use terms of endearment too often for fear of them losing their effect. He would probably use these when you were just relaxing together.

“Darling, would you mind passing me the remote?”

Johnny: Babe/Love/Sugarplum - I’m all over the place with Johnny boy. The term of endearment he would use would really depend on how he wanted to make you feel. Babe shows a more flirty, American bro-y side. Love would typically be reserved for special, sentimental moments like if you were dancing or when he was saying goodnight over the phone from another country. Sugarplum is so funny to me and would probably be used when he wants to joke around and tease you with his cheesiness.

“Are you busy tomorrow babe?”

“Sweet dreams love.”

“What’s crack-a-lackin’ sugarplum?”

Taeyong: 자기야/여보 (Jagiya/Yeobo) - I think Taeyong is a very sweet, affectionate person. I also see him as being a very typical Korean (in terms of style, culture, thinking etc.) So I think these very adorable Korean terms of endearment would be perfect (they’re similar to saying “honey”). They’re very commonly used amongst couples in Korea, and would immediately become his go to. He would love using them to refer to you so you’re always reminded that you’re his.

“What should I make for dinner tonight yeobo?”

Yuta: Sweet cheeks - He 100% seems like he would use this type of name lol. I just picture the type of guy who would say this as being a cocky mf very self-assured haha. You would have to be to use something so cringe,. He would use it mostly when he was feeling a bit frisky or extra confident, like right when he would come off stage. If he wanted to be more sweet, I think he would still use this name (it’s his fave!!) but he would say it more softly, almost whispering it.

“So how much did you love watching me perform this time sweet cheeks?”

Kun: Princess - Honestly I think Kun is one of the sweetest, most kind, gentle humans lol. Like he is so soft and cute omg. I think he would literally treat his gf like they hung the moon, and would want to give her the world. So oc he would treat her like royalty, which is why a name like princess is so fitting. Princess can sort of be demeaning at times but the way Kun would deliver it (like how he looks at you when he says it omg) would 110% be from a place of love.

“How was your day princess?”

Doyoung: 바보 (Babo) - GUYS. I’m sure many of you know “babo” means “idiot/stupid”and I die because Doyoung would definitely have the type of relationship where you guys are both super witty and smart and always trying to one-up each other. You would insult each other but sort of affectionately? He would say this with the biggest smile and then do something cute like ruffle your hair or throw his arm around your shoulders and give you a little squeeze. At times, he would also use it to pretend he was offended or hurt to get a reaction out of you, and would probably dramatically place his hand over his heart and would pretend to gasp in shock lol.

“Hey babo, why didn’t you reply to my text this morning?!”

Ten: Sexy/Bae - Ten’s nothing if not confident lol. But unlike Yuta, I don’t think Ten is super sexual. He just doesn’t have any qualms about expressing how attracted to you he is, whether it be physically or personality-wise. He also seems like he’s very proud of his English, especially when he knows slang or stuff you may not learn in school so he’d be into using those types of pet-names for you. They’re silly and fun, but also a little possessive.

“Can you make it to my dance practice tomorrow sexy?”

Jaehyun: Angel/Sunshine - These terms to me are used when someone is just completely in love and in awe of who they are with. And let’s be honest, Jaehyun is an angel/sunshine personified? I think for Jae to date someone, he would have to truly believe in his feelings. He would look at you like you were too perfect to be from earth, aka you’re an angel from the heavens. He would just look you dead in the eyes and say something super sweet and you would be putty in his hands because you felt exactly the same about him.

“You look cold angel. Do you want my hoodie?”

Winwin: Sweetie/Sweetheart - Winwin is so cute, and I think he would want to give you a nickname that reflects what a special role you have in his life. You are sweet, caring and bring a light to his life which probably isn’t always rosy because of his lifestyle! I can see him using sweethart pretty often, basically finishing all his thoughts with it. He would use it so often he might even forget your actual name.

“We have to get ice cream after our dinner date sweetheart!”

Jungwoo: Kitten - Jungwoo to me sort of shows duality - sometimes he’s super soft and cute, but sometimes he’s a bit more flirty and confident (but not over the top). I think this nickname is perfect because it’s adorable and fluffy, but also doesn’t seem to deep like “darling.” Ultimately Jungwoo is a shy boy so I think he would reserve any pet-names for when it was just the two of you. Just imagine him calling you kitten in his soft voice omg.

“Kitten, did I do a good job in our performance last night?“

Lucas: Gorgeous/Beautiful/Hottie - This guy though. He would be his gf’s ULTIMATE hype man. I think someone like Lucas is confident enough to know he could score the most attractive girls, but would care more about someone’s personality. He is super sweet and would want his girlfriend to feel beautiful, confident, reassured and loved regardless of how she compared to society’s beauty standards. He would definitely YELL these names in his typical Lucas voice to embarrassingly hype you up regardless of who was around, or he would just use them when he was feeling particularly cutesy or felt like you needed a boost.

“DAMN HOTTIE, YOU LOOK SO FINE!”

“I love you beautiful. I’m so happy I got to see you today.”

Mark: Babe/Baby - Mark is kind of swaggy and for some reason these just seem like something a cool dude would call his girl (even though they sort of make me cringe lol). They’re also very commonly used in North America. I think he would mostly just use your name around the other members, but I can see him shyly using these terms when it was just you guys, especially in more sentimental moments.

“It’s so good to finally see you. I’ve missed you so much baby.”

Renjun: Cutie - I think Renjun would want to call you this because amongst NCT, he’s always sort of portrayed as cute and quiet (even though we know he has a very witty side) so he would like to project that and have you be the cute one in your relationship! He wouldn’t use it too often, but it would probably come out when he was saying hi, really missing you, or when you actually did/said something he thought was cute and he wanted to call you out for it!

*you trip when you’re walking together* “You’re so clumsy, cutie!”

Jeno: Honey - I think honey is just the right amount of mushy to be cute, but not cheesy. When I think of someone using it, I picture a guy who is gentlemanly and kind, but has a clear role in the relationship as a strong, masculine person. That to me is Jeno! I think he would try out a bunch of different nicknames for you, but ultimately settle on this one when he realizes it makes you blush the most. He would definitely use it regardless of who was around!

“Honey, come join us all for a movie at the dorm!”

Haechan: Girlfriend/Wifey - These can either be cute names, or very possessive names. And I think Haechan would use it more as the latter. He is just SO happy that you are his and he wants everyone to know. Like he will literally yell “HEY GIRLFRIEND!” at you from down the hallway at SM just so everyone around knows you’re together. And he doesn’t just use it when speaking to you; he will literally refer to you in conversations with other people as girlfriend or wifey.

*to his hyungs* “See you guys later! Wifey and I have a date tonight!”

Jaemin: Baby Girl/Doll - We all know Jaemin is the ult flirt, and to me, these are VERY flirty nicknames. I feel like someone who uses these terms is very sure in his masculinity. Kind of like he wants to be the dominant one but not in the sense that he wants power over his girl. It’s more like he wants to provide for and protect her. His tone would really really determine whether his intention was to come across as more manly or suggestive.

slings his arm around her shoulders* “Happy to see me baby girl?”

Chenle: Pumpkin - Similar to Johnny using sugarplum, I feel like Chenle would use a term of endearment that is super playful and teasing. It’s so silly and you would clap back by pretending like you hated it, but really, he knew you loved it. I don’t see him using it all the time, but I think he would pull it out when you were feeling a bit down, or maybe when he was trying to annoy you until you’d do what he wanted. He would also use it when he was in a really good mood!

“So pumpkin… Since I got lunch, you’re treating me to coffee later, right?”

Jisung: Y/N - LOL. To be honest, I just see Jisung as super shy with girls (which might change with age!!). Even if he wanted to, I don’t think he would feel comfortable using something other than your name until you had been together for a while and were very sure of each other and the relationship. Occasionally, a term of endearment might slip out but he would probably get flustered and try to act like it didn’t happen. He wouldn’t want you to think he was weird or cheesy or something.

“So sweetie I MEAN Y/N OMG… ANYWAYS WHICH MOVIE DID YOU WANT TO SEE AGAIN?”

Excuse me while I go cry because when will any guy call me one of these names, let alone a member of NCT haha. But real talk, I had so much fun writing this and I really hope you guys enjoyed it!! Ngl, it wasn’t easy coming up with 18 different terms of endearment that fit to each of the members, but I’m happy with how it turned out! Feel free to leave me feedback or requests. I love getting messages from you guys!

Hazelnut Latte ☕

Pairing: Jaehyun x Reader

Genre: Fluff, a little shot of angst oof

Summary: Who knew getting stood up on your first date seemed almost like a brown-haired, caramel eyed beautiful fate?

Word Count: 1712

A/N: This is officially my first NCT scenario on this blog :) I hope you guys still enjoy my writing despite it not being about Seventeen! But I am working on more Seventeen scenarios, please stay tuned! (oof fun fact about me: Jaehyun is my bias /uwued/). As always, credits for all gifs and pictures used go to their rightful owners because I am not talented enough to make any of those into beautiful pieces of art work!

You stared out the cafe’s window, drawing small hearts on the foggy glass in boredom as the rain continued to pour harder outside. Disappointment started to tug on your heart, chilling it from the warmth of anticipation you were holding on the entire day. Just like your cup of unfinished coffee, you started to become cold and your restlessness grew from waiting any longer for your crush, Doyoung; he was about an hour late for your ‘date’ and you were starting to think you were stood up.

Regret started to churn in your stomach about your embarrassing decision. You had gathered up all of your courage to ask him out for coffee and Doyoung agreed - but seeing as though he didn’t reply to your texts or calls, your unsettling fear started to become true. You were being rejected indirectly and he didn’t even have the guts to show up or even leave you a message to tell you. But being as optimistic as you were, you decided to keep waiting; the rain was pouring even harder than before it was getting harder to see the streets and people were running into nearby buildings or under bus stops to shield themselves.

Another ten minutes passed and at that point, frustrated tears were threatening to spill from your eyes. You sucked them in and held back the urge to bawl your eyes in public. Letting out a shaky breath, you bit down on your bottom lip, chewing it in embarrassment and hurt. There was nowhere you could go to hide yourself; you just wanted to be alone and in a solitude space to bury yourself in the humiliation you felt. I’m such an idiot. Why did I even think he’d feel the same way?

“Man, it’s crazy out there!”

A part of you was taken aback when a stranger suddenly pulled out the chair in front of you and took a seat. The cute boy was completely drenched from head to toe and his nose was faintly glowing crimson from the cold. He breathed deeply into his palms while rubbing his hands and his eyes met yours. A soft smile grew on his face and that was when you recognized who it was. If it weren’t for his gentle features and the warmth in his gaze, you would’ve been terribly freaked out.

“What’re you sitting here by yourself for?” Jaehyun, Doyoung’s best friend, asked curiously as the smile still radiated on his face. Feeling a sense of sudden comfort and closure from his presence, you could feel your tears starting to burn your eyes as your vision blurred. His eyes widened and he suddenly tensed up as you starting sniffing and crying at the same time. “Y/N, a-are you okay?”

“N-No...I’m n-not.” You choked out, closing your eyes to just accept the tears trailing down your cheeks and opened them so you could see a little better. A heavy weight of heartbreak rested on your shoulders and chest, making it difficult for you to breathe and focus straight. Your hands started shaking as they were formed into tight fists on your lap.

Jaehyun didn’t know what to do; he didn’t really talk to you much and both of you weren’t that close either. He didn’t know how to comfort you either. You guys were only classmates and he didn’t want to make things awkward too by hugging you or anything - but seeing you so vulnerable and broken like that pushed his unimportant concerns to the side. Reaching forward, Jaehyun gently cupped your tear-stained face in his hands and wiped away the tears with his thumbs carefully.

You suddenly held your breath in shock as you looked at him with wide eyes. Jaehyun calmly brushed his thumbs over your cheeks lightly while moving your bangs out of your face and tucking them behind your ears. His expression had saddened and it was as if his eyes reflected some of the pain you felt. He was regretful that he didn’t know a better way to make you feel better.

Both of your eyes met and Jaehyun suddenly felt flustered, his cheeks becoming warm as you stared at him. He broke his gaze away and awkwardly leaned back into his seat. You had stopped crying and now your heart was racing faster than you could comprehend what just happened. The poundings reached your ears and they were so loud you dismissed the loud thunder that cracked and rumbled from outside.

“Y-You stopped crying… That’s good,” Jaehyun cleared his throat in awkwardness and averted his eyes out the window at some puddle in the street. “-I don't really know what is best to comfort you… I’m sorry…”

“You didn’t have to…” Your voice was soft and hoarse as you sniffed, feeling a small amount of embarrassment. “I didn’t mean to just suddenly cry…I should be the one apologizing for putting you in a weird situation.”

“Do you feel better now?” Jaehyun glanced back at you and he just blushed, trying hard not to think about the cringing action he did.

“Y-Yes… Thank you.”

“W-Were you on a date? Y-You’re dressed up…” He tried to change the subject and took in your appearance; it was a shame that you were sitting there in a cute blouse and skirt with your hair curled and tear stains on your face. Jaehyun didn’t want to let it slip, but he honestly thought you were really pretty.

“My date...stood me up.” You lowered your gaze disappointedly at your cold coffee and let out a soft sigh. “We were supposed to meet here an hour ago.”

“What the hell? What is wrong with that guy?” Jaehyun suddenly blurted out in disbelief, his voice a little louder than before. “How can he just bail on a kind and sweet girl?”

“He’s your best friend, Jaehyun.” You started to feel less bitter when he complimented you.

“Wait...what?” Jaehyun’s eyes widened and he froze; oh shit. He remembered Doyoung saying something about an underclassman asking him out for coffee and both of them feeling sorry for the girl if she had feelings for him. Jaehyun knew that Doyoung has his eyes set on another girl and was in love with her; he had no idea that that underclassman was you. You didn’t have any clue either that Doyoung liked someone else either; he never brought it up when you two were in vocal class and he was always so friendly and sweet towards you that it didn’t occur to you that he had another girl on his mind.

“He didn’t tell you…” Your voice got softer and Jaehyun started to instantly feel regret.

“He mentioned it… but he didn’t tell me who it was. But he seriously stood you up? He didn’t even say anything?”

You shook your head.

“I’m sorry, Y/N… I don't know what’s up with him, but he’s not the type of person to do this. He would never bail on a girl without telling her. I think something just happened and he left his phone somewhere or it died,” Jaehyun murmured with a slight frown. “-I wasn’t able to contact him a couple minutes ago as well. But… I don't think he’ll show up in this storm.”

“I believe you, Jaehyun… But… maybe I was just an idiot. I shouldn’t have asked him to meet me here… I should’ve just kept my mouth shut and keep my feelings to myself.”

“Honestly, I think you should tell him anyways. It’ll help get it off your chest and you’ll feel a lot better. Even if he might reject you, just do it anyways. You’ve got nothing to lose.”

“I don't know… The idea of being rejected by your crush isn’t exactly pleasant…”

“Ah, right...What am I saying?” Jaehyun chuckled embarrassingly. “What do I know about crushes? Haha… anyways, trust me. Whatever happens, just know that there is some other handsome and amazing guy out there for you.”

“Thank you, Jaehyun.” You smiled softly and took a deep breath. “I honestly think I would’ve suffered in humiliation if I was still sitting here alone, trying to bottle in my emotions.”

“Well, I’m glad I saw you and took a seat,” he grinned happily and reached forward to ruffle the top of your head. “-I can’t believe I’m now getting the chance to talk to you after being in the same class as you for a whole year.”

“All because I was stood up on my first date,” you joked with a soft giggle.

“If you think about it,” Jaehyun blushed slightly, hesitant on vocally wording his embarrassing thoughts. “-technically, you didn’t get stood up. I’m here, aren’t I?”

“You’re considering this as a first date…?” You were surprised at his statement and your own cheeks heated up. “We didn’t even ask one another.”

“It’s never too late…” He glanced to the side before looking back at you with a sweet, but nervous smile. “Do you want to do on a date with me then?”

You had to let out a giggle at how awkward, yet adorable the timing was before nodding.

“My favorite drink here is the hazelnut latte.”

“I’ll get you another one then,” Jaehyun smiled shyly and got out of his seat. But before he could, you grabbed his hand. He turned to you in confusion and you shook your head. “-huh?”

“How about we head to your place for you to get changed first?” You motioned your head towards the window. Jaehyun looked outside to see that the rain had stopped. “You’re going to get sick if you stay in those clothes.”

“What if it rains again?”

“Then we’ll run for it.”

Jaehyun started to feel something soft and warm in his chest when you smiled at him happily and sweetly. He just intertwined your fingers and pulled you to your feet as the both of you hurriedly left the cafe to catch a cab. The entire ride there, Jaehyun didn’t let go of your hand. His grip was firm and the way your hand just perfectly fit in his made both of you flustered. Jaehyun couldn’t look at you and you were the same. Both of you just stared out the windows shyly without any words exchanged.
