Years ago. Countless kisses ago.
The mermaid stared at the gentle purple paper with the deep sanguine ink written in looping script, a letter, mostly in Dryadic, a few sentences befriending the language of Mer, but not quite there, not quite yet. The window to learning is open, clearly, there is significant effort and edits, most adorably.
“She signs her first letter to me ‘Your Will-o-Wisp’?” the mermaid proclaimed to the moon and seas and all creation!
“How do I be normal about this tenderness?!” she cried aloud, her heart beating rapidly as she clutched this new treasure to her chest.

And here’s Thyme.
Like their twin, Thyme budded as a blighted plant, and survived to adulthood only due to Peach’s care. Though they can now hold a dryadic form - or at least the glamor of one - without issue, Thyme still possesses notable scars from their infancy in the form of crystallized sap.
Appearance aside, Thyme is a reserved but polite dryad who tends to bring a pleasant calm to the room. They have a decent knowledge of farming like all their other siblings, and also quite enjoy sewing.
Would they make a welcome addition to your clan?
Thyme is on AH for 1.5kG.
And yes my lore is wack

1: Young and Old
Whumptober 2022 #1. @bloodybrambles, @wildfaewhump, @lektric-whump, @that-one-thespian, @raigash, @avian-american
None of this was supposed to happen. They were nineteen. Nineteen. They were still earning their degree. They were on placement. They beat the other applicants to a prestigious internship. They observed cutting-edge research. They…
“You found out she was alive.”
The words cut off their rant, and Spencer nods, smiling without humour. “I mean, she is a plant. But. More alive.”
“A dryad is not a plant,” the elder witch admonishes her, amused. Her one eye glints in the sunlight, dark and somehow russet brown. “But I understand the distinction. While plants have voices, they are not sentient as we are. They feel no pain or sadness.”
“Well, that’s good to know, ‘cause I’m pretty sure my Venus flytrap is dead.”
Jhazel laughs, but there is pity in her voice when she tells them, “Perhaps less dead than you think, given your abilities. But carry on. Tell me how you came to know her.”
Spencer sits back in the wicker armchair, listening to it creak. The witch’s cottage was full of old furniture like this, but everything was covered in handmade blankets dyed deep, rich colours, softened by countless hands. The plants arrayed along the windowsill in tiny, mismatched pots gave the air a fresh scent, carried in by the gentle breeze that ruffled the tall trees outside. Jhazel was leaning against the counter of the open kitchen, a mug between her hands, in which was tea that she wasn’t drinking.
“She talked. Picked up words, argued with how they were treating her. I was on the night shift a lot of the time, alone, bored, so I talked back. They said she was just mimicking, like a parrot, but… She used words in different ways to how she’d heard them, and she made her own sentences.”
“You heard her voice.”
“I saw her, she’d say. Many looking, but only me seeing.”
Jhazel inclines her head, accepting the distinction.
“They noticed that she talked to me, so I got… It was kind of a promotion. But not really. A lot of pressure to stay on-site and not go home, obviously it all had to be secret, the research, and then…”
They break off. They pull their glasses off to rub their eyes, dislodging strands of dark hair that fell in dull straggles over their brow, overlong and dry from weeks of nothing but astringent chemical soap. Jhazel has a cream for that, and she makes a mental note to send Spencer home with some.
“Then they decided I was too important…” they force out, dry voice cracking with the effort.
The witch inhales a breath that tastes of her forest. The child sits on her armchair, wrapped in one of her homespun blankets and pale with the effort of not crying, and still doesn’t understand.
“I believe they recognised that you had magic,” she eases the words into the air. “I’m not sure how. But what they did to you was to try and access it, just as they did with Silver Birch. When I came for you, it was because I sensed it too. The earth magic I wield is natural-born, but the dryads strengthen me. You have your own too, and Silver Birch woke it.”
Spencer’s face is a knot of conflict. Disbelief battles wonder. So young and so embittered already.
“You may never have noticed if not for your proximity to her. But there is a reason she chose you.”
“Wish she hadn’t,” Spencer grumbles. “I got…” They cut off without finishing and shake their head roughly. “It’s fine. I fucking deserved it.”
Jhazel doesn’t see the point of arguing with them. She is often called a wise woman, but no counsellor. “Then consider your penance paid. Ask yourself which path you will follow next.”
Sensing the meaning behind the platitude, Spencer turns hunched shoulders to look out of the window, where ancient trees as tall as houses stand around the cottage like sentries, and some of them, not trees at all. Amongst them, Jhazel feels the eddies and gusts of dryadic power, spinning through branches, rustling leaves, and some, clustering at the window to feel out the presence of their new guest.
“Well,” she declares, rising to her feet and handing Spencer the mug of tea. “Drink that. You need strength. And I,” she smiles, eyes flashing bright, “need a protegee.”

hermit-a-day 2: iskall
One I haven't thought about as much ! I always want to watch iskall more, especially vault hunter stuff it looks so rad, but never end up doin it. Have a couple thoughts tho !!
ISKALL85
court: autumn
type: dryad/construct
-Iskall is a tough one to pin down, but is clearly some sort of living construct made of organic materials. Stone, wood, and other materials all interlaced with the magic that keeps him alive, he really has no clear part that is and isn't her, she is the amalgamation of bits he builds himself out of
-Sometimes uses this to alter her form, and is always tinkering to make himself better armored, with enhanced sensory inputs, etc
-Definitely one of the autumn fae that really represents their reputation as the court of games, with incredibly impressive games of his own design! Vault hunters is of course his biggest one, which utilizes her dryadic magic to alter an entire world to create a game. A feat that means he's incredibly respected among game-making fae!

Here's a chapter update for my story Transplanted Heart (Uprooted Remix). This is Eskel/Geralt and my remix of @brighteyedjill 's story The Heart Entire because I want to run everywhere with leshy Eskel. chapter 3 - the brothers in Brokilon After Geralt has recovered from his injuries from Thanedd, Eskel tries to rouse Geralt's spirits with an afternoon trip and shows him some dryad magic.
🌳🌲🌳🌲🌳🌲🌳🌲🌳
Eskel was no stranger in bearing witness to Geralt’s suffering, but that made it no less difficult to endure. Geralt was hooked up to the conynhaela vines and knitbone for over a month, healing the wounds he’d received on Thanedd.
There was little Eskel could do while Geralt twisted in alternating states of pain and misery, bound firmly to the bed of leaves and branches. So he spent the time telling Geralt about life in the forest. About the dryads and creatures he’d thought were extinct, and the strange dryadic magic he’d seen. He told his brother about his own long, painful recovery since the fire mage’s attack in Kaer Morhen that had nearly ended him.
As the weeks passed and Geralt’s body physically healed, his spirits remained shattered, even when freed of the vines. It broke a different part of Eskel’s heart that he hadn’t known existed. The pain and uncertainty and that remorse about losing Ciri was something the conynhaela could not purge from Geralt’s heart.
After two days of Geralt not speaking a single word, Eskel wracked his mind, searching for ways to rouse him, when he finally had a decent idea. He consulted with the dryad queen to ensure he wasn’t going to violate dryad norms by bringing Geralt to the spot he had in mind. Eskel then gained permission from Aglaïs who had overseen Geralt’s care and assured Eskel that Geralt was healthy enough for travel.
“Where are we going?” Geralt asked when Eskel cajoled him to his feet.
“C’mon,” Eskel said and unfurled some of his branches so he could gently scoop Geralt into his arms.
Geralt was ambulatory but it was going to be quite a trip, and Eskel didn’t want to stress Geralt’s leg, so Eskel rigged up a sling in his branches, carefully binding Geralt’s elbow and knee and tucking him close to his body.
Eskel made their way through the forest for over an hour until he reached a small pond surrounded by yew and hickory, its thick canopy of branches sheltering the ground. It had been an interesting discovery some months prior, and Eskel was glad to have the chance to share it with Geralt.
He helped Geralt out of the sling and Geralt hobbled over to an overturned log, sitting down with a heavy grunt. “Pretty,” Geralt murmured, looking around.
“I want to show you something I’ve learned since I got here,” Eskel said. He plucked a few leaves from one of his own branches and popped them into his mouth, chewing slowly and focused on the silent incantation in his mind. It was a process that helped kickstart the transformation deep inside his limbs, preparing his body for blood and circulation.

Fanmade song for Aldia, Scholar of the First Sin from Dark Souls II.
A speedy build as the usurper arrives to steal the Throne of Want from its true monarch. An active drum beat and metallic-scraping percussion attack as fast as this pyromantic dryadic demon, working against bright-souled strings and halogenic synths in a melodically sonorous battle for dominance.
Here's the playlist for All My Souls Season II: The Good Senator, I try to upload a new part of it every 2 days:

Dragon Types of Draggarii Esheth: Diving Dragons
Diving dragons live high on the cliffs above the lakes nestled in mountainous regions of the realm. In shape, they very closely resemble a Spinosaurid with wings. Their arms are long enough that they can use them to help climb, and their wings have a two thumb-like claws that also aid in climbing. Their tails are flattened toward the end, almost paddle-like in nature, and their horns are usually small and grow back away from their sharp faces.
As dragons go they’re rather small, never standing more than 50 ft at the shoulder and never shorter than 20. Rather than spines, divers have a small ridge of raised scales above their shoulders and another at their hips where their wings tuck into their bodies so they can swim uninhibited.
Divers carve their homes into cliffsides. Theyuse their razor sharp talons, teeth, and powerful heads to carve out mountains that suit them perfectly. They breed twice a year rather than once and birth small clutches of two to five eggs per female. The survival rate for divers is very low as hatchlings often fall to their death when their mothers are out fishing.
When it is time to feed, the dragons take to the skies and dive down into the deep waters on unsuspecting prey. They feed on a variety of aquatic life, but most commonly turtles and surface swimming jellies. However like any dragon, they remain opportunistic predators. If there is food to be found on dry land, they will take the chance at an easy meal where it presents itself.
These dragons are very mild tempered when it comes to other animals (dragons and other species alike). They live in massive colonies that can be home to dozens of diving dragons, depending on the size of their habitat and the strength of their food source.
Even though they are known by most for their incredible ability to swim, diving dragons are fantastic fliers. In the air they are fearless and fast. They love to preform aerial tricks even when no one is around to see. These are hyper active dragons that spend little time at rest and most of the time maintaining their nests or hunting.
Divers are colorful dragons with smooth, vibrantly colored scales.
Squizzgrorbiard and his parent Clest are the only two current diving dragons on the Elder Council.
Squiz is a scholar that lives at the Southern Summit and has an impressive hoard of shells, corals, and other oddities from the depths of lakes and seas. He acquired most of these items in his younger years, as shortly after coming into his elder age, he was stricken with a rare disease that caused him to loose feeling in his legs and tail. He gets about with the help of a mobility aid crafted by the dwarves that is quite similar to a wheel chair. He is also still capable of flight, and the disease appears to have gone dormant thanks to extensive treatment at the hands of the dryadic priestesshood. Squiz is a white dragon with vivid orange markings that look like interlocking rights all over his body. He might have taken a seat as a Hydra Head (a leader of the Draggardic Council of Elders) if the vast majority of other dragons did not see his impairment as a weakness.
Clest is one of the oldest dragons on the Elder Council, and lives a life of wandering. They are friendly and known for their charm, but they tend to avoid the other elders outside of meetings and council affairs. Though they are technically Squizzgrorbiard’s mother, they did not raise him. As most dragons do not raise their offspring, especially not to elder age. They are very fond of him, however, and will bring him presents from deep beneath the water that he can no longer fish out himself. They are a blue dragon with black legs and a black tail. Their head and wings are a solid, bright orange, and the blue of their back is freckled with black spots.

Dryadic Snakes (Classification)
A subtype of Dryadic Creatures, rather as Dryadic Humanoids are, Dryadic Snakes are special in that almost all known varieties, bar one, were made, either bred from other creatures and plants, or made from scratch. All bar the Xicalcoatl take readily to domestication or household life, as well, and even the Xicalcoatl can be well handled by Dryadic Beings and certain Parselmouths with surprising ease. Dryadic Snakes are usually at least somewhat plantlike in structure, with bones of lignin, cells with chloroplasts or various other plantlike attributes, such as rigid cell structure.
Like most created Dryadics, Dryadic Snakes are often especially loyal to those they feel a bond to, be that the people who made or bred them, or those who have won their loyalty. Further, being of plants, one does not necessarily need to be a Parselmouth to communicate to them. Kelpiefish are handled by the Mer they were bred for, while Viren Snakes are loyal to the child they were created for, Parselmouth or no. Dryadic Beings often have a shockingly easy time conveying their needs and desires to these creatures, using subsonic vibrations of their own wooden forms to effectively convey intent and commands.
Please find a short list below of known Dryadic Snakes:
Cobra Lily - The only Dryadic Snake known to be definitively and definitely a plant with roots, Cobra Lilies are often phenomenally hard to cultivate if one is not a Dryadic oneself, or if one is not a Parselmouth. Though the plants cannot understand Parseltongue, the magic woven into them does, and a command such as “Stop” will render the plant rigid and unable to move until one has finished harvesting leaves from it. Common belief in many areas hold that the plants were bred by a Parselmouth and a grove of Dryadics in tandem.
Kelpiefish - Created by Swamp Dryads as proof of an alliance formed with Merpeople, Kelpiefish are independent eel-like creatures which will usually stay with the Merpeople who raised and cultivated them, or guard areas they assign them to. Though eel-like in appearance they were bred from the below Viper Vines, and simply adapted more towards an aquatic lifestyle. If moved to a more terrestrial environment (ensuring there is enough water) they will begin to adapt back to more snakelike forms.
Viper Vine - Believed to have been bred by Dryads, Viper Vines are found almost exclusively around their groves and usually guard specifically the tree of the Dryad which raised them, though if there are several Viper Vines then Dryads are often known to assign the snakes to patrol the grove, acting in defence of all of the Dryadic trees.
Viren Snake - Technically a construct, due to the nature of it’s construction, Viren Snakes are also counted as Dryadic Creatures, as their form is primarily made of plant matter, in combination with certain alchemical compounds. Viren Snakes are bonded to magical children to act as a companion and protector, and can understand and will obey specifically the child they are bonded to. Due to the components needed to make them, and the danger they can pose to any they perceive as threatening their child, creation of Virens is heavily restricted by almost every Ministry.
Xicalcoatl - The wildest of all specimens of Dryadic Snakes, Xicalcoatls are believed to have been bred by American Tree Dryads and migrated to Central and South America on their own. Though they can be domesticated by Dryads and Parselmouths alike, they do have a preference for humans as food, or at least, other very large mammals, and must be carefully handled to limit attacks. Increasingly, Dryads from South America are having these creatures imported to try and limit or prevent further logging in their territories.
