Ooh requests are open imma send u the lil idea I had in my head but not had the time to get to writing it. Schl sucks I agree it's not fun, hoping you survive it somehow tho
May I request a Gojo x reader where the reader likes sweets so they buy sweets, put them in the fridge and promptly forget all about it until they see the wrapper in the bin/want to eat and realise there's only one left so they demand to know why Gojo has been stealing all their sweets? Thanks!!
A fridge full of sweets
Tumblr media
Summary: You both love sweets. You bought a whole fridge full of sweet delicacies for you. But you didn't manage to eat it because you always had other plans. You remembered about these sweets when you saw empty packages in the trash. Satoru ate everything...
Tumblr media
The shelves that had so much colorful packaging on them looked like they were starting to shine for no reason.
Pink, yellow, red, blue, green packaging and all these. As if a real rainbow appeared in the store. A rainbow that fulfills wishes!
You've been craving sweets so much since the morning. That's why whenever you went to the store to do some basic shopping, your eyes didn't miss the shelf with sweets.
Cookies, jellies, candies, cake in plastic containers, muffins, donuts. Everything seemed to be looking at you and your soul was already strengthening at the mere sight of these delicious good things.
You had Satoru's money with you. And he will never be mad at you if you spend his money on sweets since for him this is the basis of his diet!
He even adds ice cream to Sake when he needs to drink it, but he doesn't like it so much that he adds vanilla ice cream to it to eliminate the bitter taste of the alcohol! At alcoholic parties he drinks melon soda, cola or orangeade!
You have a cupboard in your kitchen especially for sweets!
He bought you bubblegum and pudding flavored lip gloss because he wanted to feel sweet while kissing you!
You both like sweets. You love these sweet flavors that melt in your mouth!
After a few seconds of contemplation, your hands shot out to the colorful packages and you started choosing everything you wanted.
Everything you wanted to take could have been in the fridge. You want refreshing sweets today.
Citrus jellies, mochi, ice cream.
But you couldn't give up marshmallows, Pocky, chocolate bars and those adorable teddy bear cookies. Soft cake, cream and jams... These teddy bears are the ones Satoru likes. But you also like them because they have different flavors.
Later, you were completely ready, going to the bakery to buy muffins with various creams and cake.
You came home with bags containing mainly sweets.
And you looked at the fridge, stuffed to the brim and shiny with delicious-looking things.
Taking one cat-shaped cupcake with sprinkles in the shape of little cats, you closed the fridge to stop yourself from eating it all at once.
If you want to have a beautiful evening, you can eat sweets together.
The strangest thing was that your boyfriend didn't open the fridge right away when he came home.
He came into the house, greeted you, changed into his home clothes and started taking warm food out of his bag.
He came back from town bringing you your favorite food.
He really spoils you. He feeds you with the amount of food he eats. And he could eat all day long. Continuously. And he forces just as much food into you, even though his size outweighs yours. That's why you think he might have a bigger stomach too.
No... He has a black hole in his stomach. Everything he eats disappears as if it never happened and he can continue eating everything.
He clung to you on the couch.
And the next day he took you out to dinner in the city.
Then it happened again that you weren't at home.
The fridge overflowing with sweets hasn't been opened and you haven't eaten any of it yet. Fortunately, there was nothing that deteriorated very quickly.
But one day when he came home late, you were already asleep, waiting for him in bed.
But knowing this Gojo Satoru, he was hungry after working all day as a Jujutsu sorcerer.
That's why his hands reached for the fridge. And his eyes lit up when he saw the amount of sweets.
The smile on his face when he thought that you surprised him and bought all these sweets for him as a gift.
Maybe tomorrow morning he will play with you to thank you for these delicacies?
Your warm arms can wait. For now, he has to eat everything you bought!
All his bites are big. While eating one thing, he only thought about eating the next one. So he ate everything in order. All packages were open. The sour jelly sugar coated his fingers as he licked the cream from his lips after eating the last cupcake.
Long fingers landed on his tongue as he scooped up the sweet and sour delight of the jelly beans.
Will he be able to sleep after all the sugar he has consumed? After coffee bars?
This is Satoru! Someone who has been eating sweets for so long that they have become addicted to it! Someone for whom sugar is not difficult! He can gorge himself and half an hour later he will be hungry again!
You may have already gotten used to your personal hunger at home.
Luckily he can have millions of yen for food!
The empty wrappers of all the treats were thrown into the trash can when he finished eating. And he didn't even want to go brush his teeth to hide all the traces.
They were sweets for him from you, weren't they?
But no one else could eat it except him and you. You two live together.
You felt the bed sink next to you and he climbed into your arms, giving you a kiss on the lips.
Why did you feel the taste of chocolate and cream on his lips, but the inside of his mouth tasted like citrus jelly beans?
You were so sleepy that you ignored it and went back to sleep. After all, you always felt more comfortable sleeping in his arms. You slept better.
But you slept too well. That's why you needed to wake up first thing in the morning. Sweet coffee and coffee bars... It was your dream.
You remembered that you put this package on the last shelf in the fridge.
You took the cups and prepared the milk and sugar.
While the coffee machine was pouring delicious fresh coffee into your favorite mugs, you walked over to the fridge.
Rubbing your eye, you blindly reached for your bars. To not find it.
You opened your eyes to look for it.
And you saw an empty fridge that was already full yesterday!
There were empty fancy packages in the trash can.
There isn't a single candy bar...
Only a package of peanut candies left...
Clenching your jaw, you walked to the bedroom, knowing who the culprit was.
That's why his mouth tasted like citrus jelly beans and chocolate!
He ate it all!
All your sweets!
Even kitty cupcakes and teddy bear cookies!
You saw a white-haired giant stick insect who was too muscular to be a stick insect lying in bed with his belly bare because of his shirt that had rolled up.
You bluntly threw the cold wrapper of peanut candy onto his half-bare chest.
He jumped up from the sudden impact and cold and looked at you like he was having a sudden panic attack.
If you poured ice water on him, he would look even better! It was revenge!
"Mochi? What?" He exclaimed, looking at your furrowed brows.
"Why are you stealing our sweets?! You ate everything!!" you shouted, your hands clenched.
"Baby baby! I was hungry! But since the fridge was full, you bought it for me, right?"
"I bought this for us a few days ago! But you ate it all!"
He quickly stood up, placing his hands on your cheeks as you looked at him like a disappointed child.
He fed his adorable baby (you) with pancakes that he made.
Two towers of pancakes for you. And as a punishment, not one for him.

How bananas can be used to fight the plastic waste crisis
Bananas are one of the most popular and widely consumed fruits in the world. They are also the fourth most grown crop in the world, trailing only rice, wheat and corn. What could this tropical fruit have to do with fighting the ongoing plastic waste crisis? A lot, potentially, according to Srinivas Janaswamy, associate professor of food chemistry in South Dakota State University's Department of Dairy and Food Science. His study, titled "Biodegradable packaging films from banana peel fiber" was published in the journal Sustainable Chemistry and Pharmacy. "Many of us consume at least one banana a day," Janaswamy said. "After enjoying the delicious fruit, we discard the peel. What if we could find a use for the peel that helps eliminate plastic waste?"

Reduce, reuse, recycle
A reader reminded me of the phrase “Reduce, reuse, recycle” and these are listed in the order of importance.  “Reduce” means that the use of the resource never occurs, so the resource is available for the future and the use of the ancillary resources to produce and transport the item also never occurs. Ending your use of single-use plastics is a simple example of an easy way to reduce.  Reducing our use of resources (and our production of pollutants) is the most beneficial to our goal of a healthy planet.
Second is “reuse”.  Use your creativity to reuse or repurpose an item that already exists rather than buying something new.  A coat of paint might allow you to use an item for several more years.  Food packaging containers that would normally be discarded could be used to store small items in a workshop or to bring home leftovers from a restaurant (and eliminate your use of a disposable restaurant take-home container).  I have a very nice pair of wool mittens made from an old sweater that could no longer be cleaned or repaired.  Buy previously owned items when you can.  Reuse of an existing item means no resources will be used to produce something new, although smaller amounts of resources might be used for repairing, refurbishing, or repurposing an item.
Recycling is important, but many items cannot be recycled for a variety of reasons.  Don’t rely on recycling to solve the problem of our insatiable use of the earth’s resources, and make sure you know your local recycler’s guidelines.  Putting the wrong thing in a recycling bin can ruin a whole batch of recyclable material.  And be sure to buy items with recycled content when possible to help build the market for recycled materials.

Disappearing act - chapter XI
Geto observed her more carefully, trying to decide whether she was being serious or not. — Killing non-sorcerers? — It's an option, but I don't take it seriously. Do you? — Yuki pressed him with a loaded question. Suguru Geto thought of them all — Shoko, Nanami, Haibara, Riko, Kuroi, his parents, Satoru — and his chest filled with an unbearable pain, but also an incredibly monumental love, so much that it felt like it would stretch and burst at the seams of his heart that could not contain it. He thought of his father again, reading him "Night on the Galactic Railroad" when he was young, and he thought of Satoru reading his own copy now during his leisure nights. He thought of Giovanni and Campanella, and of the Scorpio of the night sky, and of the nobility of sacrifice, of setting yourself on fire to warm the world.

Chapter XI: good friends, good books, and a sleepy conscience, this is the ideal life
Shoko was examining Mimiko and Nanako Hasaba, the two children rescued by Geto. Normal reflexes, good vision, and motor coordination as expected for children of that age — all this also taking into consideration the state of starvation in which they were before being brought to Tokyo. They would probably make a full recovery, was her verdict.
Taking two lollipops from a glass jar, Ieiri handed one to each of the girls, as a reward for good behavior during the exam. Both kids accompanied those present in the infirmary — Shoko, Suguru, Satoru, and Professor Yaga — with attentive and curious eyes, although still suspicious.
— So they're okay, right? — Suguru asked, just to be sure.
Shoko took a lollipop out of the jar for herself; maybe the reward wasn't always for the patients, the three men imagined, seeing that the container was half empty, and she could open the plastic packaging with a single pull using her teeth. — Yeah. They’re still a little weak because they’ve spent days without eating or drinking water, but other than that, nothing unusual. — she explained, turning to the girls — Before that, how did you get food? Did any adults take care of you?
Nanako, the more extroverted of the two, responded. — Our teacher secretly brought us food.
Someone in the village, at least, didn't agree to pretend that two children who could barely take care of themselves didn't exist, Suguru thought. A chill made him shiver as he remembered that he had come within a hair's breadth of eliminating all the villagers, including the poor teacher who did what little she could for the girls.
Satoru played with a stethoscope, trying to listen to his own heartbeat. Professor Yaga, annoyed with his usual antics, took the equipment from his hands, ruining his fun. This made Nanako giggle, finding all those weird grown-ups very funny.
— Well, the social worker must be waiting for my call. — the professor said, using this as a cue to leave.
— Where are we going now? — Mimiko asked Geto, her eyes worried.
He smiled kindly. — We're going to get you a house, here in Tokyo. The social worker will help with this, she is a person who helps children.
— But I don't wanna leave...
That request could break anyone's heart. Not even Satoru, who always took everything as a joke, could avoid feeling the weight of the situation: — It's for a short time, just for a few days... We'll pick you up later, right, Suguru? Megumi will like having more sisters, you guys are the same age, you’ll get along well. And Tsumiki-chan is older, but she's a responsible kid...
Geto wanted to tell him not to promise what he couldn't deliver, but he quickly realized he really was serious. And the mention of other children was enough to awaken a feeling of joy, curiosity and belonging among the girls: — Who is Megumi? — Nanako asked.
Satoru thought for a moment, a confused expression on his face. — He's... Well, technically, I guess I'm his stepdad. But that doesn’t seem right, huh.
— Dad... But you're the same age as uncle Geto, aren't you? How can you be someone's dad? — Mimiko said, with the frankness that only a child could have.
Shoko and Suguru laughed, and even Satoru couldn't help but smile at such an honest question. — Hey…! He is my adopted son, kinda. I knew his father, and Megumi and Tsumiki needed a home, so I adopted them. In fact, I think the two of them are more like my younger siblings than anything else, especially because they don't respect me... — Gojo explained. Tsumiki found him amusing, and Megumi found him cringe-inducing, and neither of them took him seriously considering Satoru was about the same level of maturity as them.
— Don't worry, Mimiko-chan, we also wonder how he can be someone's dad or stepdad or whatever when he has like, zero common sense. — Ieiri replied, with a sarcastic smile, while casually biting onto the lollipop.
This didn't shake Satoru's confidence. — I don't need to have common sense, Suguru already has common sense for both of us. — he said, in a dramatic pose.
Someone knocked on the door, announcing his entry: it was Professor Yaga, and from the expression he had on his face, the three sorcerers understood what he wanted. Geto looked at the twins, and at Masamichi, and left with both of them through the door, following the teacher. The social worker had arrived… The silence that followed inside and outside the medical room was deafening.
Satoru threw himself into a chair, the smile that had previously been on his face instantly dissipating. — I hope we can get custody of both of them. Suguru will never forgive me if I don't succeed, so I can't fail.
— You know it's not like that... — Shoko tried to cheer him up — He never really gets mad at you, even when you do everything you can to test his patience.
— But it's different, Shoko. I promised him, so I can't fail. If it comes to that, I’ll bribe the entire child protective services department, the government, I don't know. — Gojo explained.
Ieiri offered him a lollipop as a consolation prize. — You'll get custody, I know, don’t worry about it. Besides, you were so happy when you got here after lunch, don't let that fear ruin your joy.
— We went out for lunch, we went to eat instant ramen at the convenience store. And now that we're suspended for a month, it means we can spend a lot of time together, just like in the old times! — Satoru's radiant smile revealed how he felt at the mere memory of the facts. It was indisputable, and perhaps only he (and Geto) didn't realize the obvious.
— And you're this happy just because you ate instant noodles? — Shoko asked, trying to get him to hand over the details.
This only spurred him to spill the beans. — No, it's just... Suguru was arguing with me to eat better, and he said he cares about me, Shoko! How do you want me not to be happy?
Ieiri made a disgusted face. — I tell you all the time to stop eating like a raccoon and you don't care, but when it's Suguru you’re fawning all over...
— It’s different.
— Of course it's different, you're in love with him.
Satoru made a mocking face. — Of course not, that’s bullshit, Shoko…!
— Bullshit? Haven't we already had this conversation like five times before, Satoru?
— I'm not in love with Suguru, of course not, it's just… What we have is different. We understand each other like no one else, you know, and I would trust him with my life, in a way that I wouldn't trust anyone else. When we go out to do anything, it's always better when he's there, and when he isn't, I think about how much better it would be if he was there with me, and when I go to sleep, I think about him, and I always sleep better when we're together, and I feel like an idiot for smiling when he says these things to me, like when he says he cares about me, or when he promises he'll always be with me, you know? And at least three times a day I need to concentrate on not saying all of this to him accidentally, because I don't know... — pausing to take a breath, Satoru fell silent for a moment, and suddenly panic was written all over his face. — Oh my God, Shoko…! I think I really am in love with Suguru!
The unsurprising revelation did not spur any dramatic reaction from Shoko. — I know, that's what I've been trying to tell you for a long time... You should tell him all this, and not me.
Satoru jumped up from his chair, pacing nervously from one side of the infirmary to the other. — Tell him…?! I can't, I... What if he doesn't feel the same? What if I screw up it all up?
For those who knew both sides of the situation, someone who could judge it as an outsider, it was quite obvious that Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto were in love with each other and were simply too obtuse to realize it. All this doubt and torment could easily be resolved with a few words, and yet this tug-of-war of secret emotions remained. Three words that could bring relief and end that painful tango, three words that insisted on being silenced and swallowed time after time.
— Satoru, just pay attention to what you’re saying. Do you really think Suguru doesn't...? Oh, you know what, you two are impossible, I give up! — Shoko replied, raising her arms high in a gesture of surrender and frustration.

With the increasing focus on sustainability, it’s crucial to explore the top sustainable packaging trends that will shape the packaging industry in 2023. This article delves into the various sustainable packaging trends that are expected to make a significant impact in the coming year.
Tumblr media
Importance of Sustainable Packaging:
Sustainable packaging plays a prime role in minimizing waste, conserving resources, and minimizing environmental impact. This doesn’t only prioritize eco-conscious consumers but also is very beneficial for businesses in the long run.
Sustainable packaging can enhance brand reputation, attract environmentally conscious customers, and lead to cost savings through optimized material usage and streamlined logistics.
Sustainable Packaging Trends:
Read below to know more about the top Sustainable Packaging Trends that are shaping the future of packaging industry.
Eco-Friendly Packaging Materials:
To achieve sustainable packaging goals, businesses are increasingly turning to eco-friendly materials that have minimal impact on the environment. Three prominent options are:
Biodegradable Packaging: Biodegradable packaging materials are designed to decompose naturally over time, minimizing  the piling of waste in landfills. They are formed from plant-based polymers, such as PLA (polylactic acid), which can break down into harmless elements  with the help of microorganisms.
Compostable Packaging: Compostable packaging goes a step further by not only breaking down but also providing valuable nutrients to the soil during the composting process. These materials are made from organic matter, such as cornstarch or bagasse, and contribute to a circular economy by turning into compost that can enrich agricultural lands.
Recyclable Packaging: Recyclable packaging materials includes cardboard, glass, and certain types of plastics, can be gathered, refined, and reused to create new packaging or other products. Recycling preserves resources, reduces usage of energy, and minimizes the demand for virgin materials.
 Minimalistic Packaging:
One of the emerging sustainable packaging trends is minimalistic design. This approach focuses on eliminating excess packaging and using the bare minimum required to protect and present the product.
Minimalistic packaging not only reduces waste but also enhances the product’s visual appeal, creating a sleek and modern aesthetic.
Packaging Reduction and Lightweighting:
To further minimize the impact of packaging on the environment, companies are vigorously. seeking ways to minimize the amount of material used. Packaging reduction involves optimizing the size and dimensions of packaging to minimize waste, transportation costs, and storage requirements.
Lightweight, on the other hand, aims to decrease the weight of packaging materials without compromising their integrity, leading to energy savings and reduced emissions during transportation.
Smart Packaging Solutions:
Advancements in technology have paved the way for smart packaging solutions that offer enhanced functionality while remaining environmentally friendly. Two notable examples are:
Intelligent Labels: Intelligent labels comprise of RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) or NFC (Near Field Communication) technology to impart real-time insights about the product, such as its origin, ingredients, and expiration date. By enabling consumers to make informed choices, intelligent labels promote transparency and minimize food waste.
Active Packaging: Active packaging involves the integration of active substances or components into the packaging material to extend the shelf life of the product. Oxygen absorbers, moisture control packets, and antimicrobial films are examples of active packaging solutions that help maintain product freshness, reduce spoilage, and minimize food waste.
Plant-Based and Renewable Packaging:
As the demand for sustainable packaging grows, there is a rising focus on plant-based and renewable materials. Packaging created from renewable resources, such as bamboo, sugarcane, or hemp, offers a viable substitute to traditional petroleum-based plastics.
These materials are not only biodegradable or dispensable but also have a lower carbon footprint during production.
Packaging Innovations:
In addition to the aforementioned sustainable packaging trends, packaging innovations continue to drive sustainable practices. Three noteworthy innovations include:
Edible Packaging: Edible packaging materials, often made from natural polymers like seaweed or starch, can be consumed along with the product. This eliminates the need for additional waste and offers a unique, eco-friendly packaging experience.
Water-Soluble Packaging: Water-soluble packaging is created to dissolve when it comes into contact with water, minimizing the amount of waste produced. This type of packaging is particularly applicable for single-use items like detergent pods or dishwasher tablets.
Mushroom Packaging: Mushroom packaging is also known as mycelium packaging, it makes use of  the root structure of mushrooms to create a biodegradable and compostable material. It offers a sustainable alternative to foam-based packaging materials, minimizing reliance on non-biodegradable options.
Packaging for E-commerce:
With the emergence of e-commerce, sustainable packaging solutions are crucial to minimizing the environmental impact of shipping and handling.
Tumblr media
Sustainable Packaging Trends in the Food Industry:
The food industry is actively adapting to sustainable packaging practices to address the challenges of food waste and environmental impact.

Diary Of A Mom:
Friends, please take a minute to read this. It’s important for this community and it’s really important to me.
Ableisim is a sneaky little sucker. Like every other kind of bigotry, it’s insidious. It’s woven into the fabric of just about everything we touch. We’re so used to seeing it - and contributing to it - that it is simply part of the background. If we’re not actively looking for it, we’ll likely pass it right by without a second glance.
It sucks when someone points out that we are being inadvertently ableist. It’s an awful feeling to hear that we are perpetuating any of the harm to which we would never consciously subscribe, so our first instinct when it’s pointed out is often defense and justification.
The other day, when I posted what I thought was a silly, fun photo of a package of bananas, it turned out to be far, far more. It turned out to be an opportunity to learn.
You may remember that the bananas were from South Korea, and that they were ingeniously packaged together, from very unripe green all the way to ready-to-eat yellow. They were encased in plastic and designed to allow the consumer to have one every day without the others rotting.
There was a chorus of comments on that post calling out the use of plastic where it was “totally unnecessary” and “ludicrously wasteful.” There were more deriding the “laziness” of anyone who would buy such a “ridiculous” product. A ton more pointing out how “simple” and “easy” it is to simply pull bunches apart ourselves, picking whichever ones we might want.
A number of commenters tried to explain why it’s far less wasteful than it might appear, why it may actually be necessary for those who can’t shop often - or do their own shopping at all - and / or who don’t have the dexterity to pull apart six different bunches of bananas to create the perfect grouping. Some explained why “just asking for help” isn’t the simple solution it may sound like it is, particularly for those for who are nonspeaking and / or communication is a challenge.
One even took the time to research it for us and shared some great information. (Thank you, Andria!) Paraphrasing what she wrote …
The bananas are treated with a preservative before they are sealed into plastic. The packaging then keeps them shelf stable for WEEKS so that people who cannot go to the market frequently or who do not have space to store large amounts of food can have access to fresh produce for a longer period of time.
She explained that they are often stocked in vending machines in assisted living facilities, for example.
“Ultimately,” she said, “they're largely only offered to people who need them like this for ACCESSIBILITY reasons!!!”
It also happens, she added, that South Korea is one of the world's best ranked nations in terms of recycling and trash management, so we can unclutch our pearls on that front, too.
Truthfully, when I posted the photo, I hadn’t thought of it from the perspective of accessibility. Rather, I’d thought of it as a great idea and a fabulous convenience. But one person’s convenience is another’s necessity. What may look to one like “laziness” may just be the other’s only access ramp.
I’m using that post as an example, but it’s just one in a series of rabbit holes we’ve wound our way down here in the last few days alone.
I humbly submit that if we’re ever going to change these patterns, to excavate and ultimately eliminate the ableism inherent in our thinking, we need to change our reactions.
We need to take a beat before we instinctually deride something as lazy or wasteful or rude or disrespectful. To examine our thought process and test it. And when we are called in by others, we desperately need to stop rationalizing and justifying and start listening. Stop explaining *ourselves* and start hearing *each other.*
Most of all, we need to stop professing that we’d never be purposefully ableist and start proving it, precisely by owning the moments in which we inadvertently are, and working to do better going forward. (Me wholeheartedly included.)
Thanks for reading, and thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for being here.

White Masterbatch Manufacturer in India
White masterbatch is a highly sought-after type of plastic additive that is used to impart a bright and consistent white color to various plastic products. It is typically used in the production of plastic goods that require a white base, such as packaging materials, consumer goods, and automotive parts.
So, what exactly is a white masterbatch? Simply put, it is a concentrated mixture of titanium dioxide (TiO2) and a carrier resin, such as polyethylene (PE) or polypropylene (PP). The TiO2 pigment is added to the carrier resin in high concentrations, resulting in a masterbatch that can be added to plastic products during the manufacturing process to achieve a uniform and opaque white color.
There are several benefits to using white masterbatch in plastic production. For one, it offers a cost-effective alternative to producing white plastic products, as it eliminates the need for manufacturers to purchase expensive pre-colored resins. Additionally, it allows for greater flexibility and control in the manufacturing process, as it can be added to plastic products in varying concentrations to achieve the desired shade of white.
White masterbatch is also highly customizable, as it can be formulated with other additives to achieve specific properties, such as UV resistance, flame retardancy, and antistatic properties. This makes it an ideal additive for a wide range of plastic applications, from food packaging to automotive parts.
However, it is important to note that not all white masterbatch products are created equal. The quality of the masterbatch can vary greatly depending on the manufacturing process and the quality of the raw materials used. For this reason, it is important to work with a reputable supplier who can provide high-quality white masterbatch products that are tailored to the specific needs of your application.
In conclusion, white masterbatch is a valuable additive in the plastic industry that offers a cost-effective and customizable solution for achieving a bright and consistent white color in plastic products. By working with a trusted supplier, manufacturers can ensure that they are using high-quality white masterbatch products that meet their specific requirements and standards.

What’s So Great About Hemp Plastic?
Tumblr media
The use of plastic is one of the most damaging habits we have as humans… Just take a look at the great pacific garbage patch for example.
But it’s not like it all goes there. That’s just where the current takes a lot of it. Unfortunately, our plastic addiction has contaminated all but 13% of all fish in the great barrier reef in our very own home in Australia. Isn’t it just tragic?
As if this isn’t bad enough, commercial plastics used in most packaging all require fossil fuels to be manufactured. A lot of energy goes into making plastics, and the byproducts after making them also take a toll on the environment. So not only are we destroying our oceans, but also contributing to the draining of resources and polluting the rest of the environment around us.
The nail in the coffin?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Most plastics will take at least 500 years to break down. Even then, the microplastics will continue to pollute marine life all over the ocean…
As it is, it’s said the average person consumes around a whole credit card worth of microplastics in food and drink every single week – that’s about 20 grams!
But rest assured, as small batches of composites called ‘bioplastics’ are starting to pop up all over the world, which can offer temporary solutions to our plastic habits as we start to change the way we use them.
Enter hemp – One of the newest kids on the bio-plastic block.
Recently, companies have started to develop hemp plastics and that do not contain any of the toxic chemicals that can cause harm to both humans as well as the rest of the ecosystem we exist in.
Basically, hemp plastic offers a non-toxic, biodegradable, earth-friendly solution to one of humanity’s greatest problems. To top it off, it’s much stiffer and 2x as strong as what we like to call ‘plastics from the past’.
Hemp… what can’t it do?
The Making of Hemp Bioplastics
Hemp is very easy to grow and grows extremely quickly. It’s one of the fastest-growing crops on earth, with an average turnaround of around 3 months. As a fast-growing weed, it outgrows competing weeds before they have the chance to break through the canopy, which virtually eliminates the need for herbicides. Chemical pesticides are also rarely required, as hemp is a very pest-resistant crop.
One of the coolest things about hemp is something we talk about often… Hemp consumes a LOT of Co2 through a process called carbon sequestration, which can then be locked into the plastics that are made.
Yep, it requires so much Co2 to grow that it cleans our atmosphere. A similar process called phytoremediation also cleans the soil. You can read more about these in our blog about 7 ways that hemp is helping us build a sustainable future.
Once grown, it is harvested and processed, the stems are usually separated and further refined into hemp biomass. Stems are used because they contain anywhere between 70-80% cellulose. From the biomass, the cellulose can then be processed further and used as the basic building block for hemp bioplastics.
Simple – kind of…
Are Hemp Bioplastics Currently In Use?
You may ask when this concept of hemp plastic was made popular in the public eye. It might take you by surprise to hear that it was not a recent development!
In 1941, a pioneer in the automotive industry by the name of Henry Ford went public with a car prototype called the ‘Model-T’. There are unconfirmed stories of this running on hemp fuel, but what is widely known is that the body of the car was made from hemp-based plastic.
Unfortunately, it was made sure that this was never mass-produced. A couple of years later, hemp went from one of the most predominant crops in society, to being outlawed completely. Could you imagine what the world would look like if Henry Ford got this out to the masses? (Read more about Ford’s Model T, and his ideas for Biofuels here.)
However, the period of prohibition in the United States is over. We can grow hemp here in Australia now. And even Thailand just legalised cannabis and started educating their youth on it. But what does all this mean? It means there’s more progress towards this reality every single day.
Finally, over the last 10 years, there have been new developments in the field of hemp bioplastics
Notable companies implementing hemp plastics
Entwined™ Hemp 3d Printing Filament:
3D printing technology is stirring quietly in the background, quietly making leaps and bounds towards viable, commercial printing options. “But what about eco-friendly options?” you may ask. Well, now there is one – and it’s made from hemp! Entwined™ offers a 3d printing filament that’s based on hemp. It still uses a poly-blend, but we think it’s a massive step forward in this field.
Sana Packaging
Made from a blend of 30% hemp and 70% other plants, Sana packaging offers hemp packaging solutions to relevant medical and recreational marijuana industries. They also make plastics using 100% reclaimed ocean plastic. Packaging is a huge issue in the marijuana industry in the U.S.A, which Sana hopes to help address by utilising the very plant that is being sold inside the packaging. We hope that one day, this technology will be adopted by the Australian market in one way or another!
Hemp Plastic Company
The Hemp Plastic Company is a Canadian R&D company that aims to develop commercially viable hemp-based bioplastics that can be used in place of traditional plastics. Currently, they have a range of options available to cater to the needs of customers around the world.
You can check out their whole range here! You’ll be glad to know that they stock a 100% hemp bioplastic, that you could buy today!
Conclusion
So, hemp plastics are starting to look like quite the breakthrough, aren’t they?
The main reason we wanted to write this was to bring some awareness to the fact that our abuse of single-use plastics is causing exorbitant amounts of damage to our planet. But before leaving on a note of doom-and-gloom, we also want people to know there are solutions!
It’s not just hemp bioplastics offering solutions. Another great example of high-cellulose crops is sugarcane and corn. Basically, anything high in cellulose can be used to make cellulose-based bioplastic. On top of that, you have other bases like bio-resins. It’s all pretty nitpicky stuff, but if it’s what you want to learn more about, we encourage you to do so!
There are also people like Boylan Slat, who are making breakthroughs in cleaning up the plastics currently residing in our oceans! The Ocean Cleanup Project recently completed their first successful prototype, which they will eventually scale, and use to clean up their goal of 50% of the Great Pacific Garbage Patch in 5 years.
So, it’s not all doom and gloom. And there are lots of solutions – Hemp is one of them.
Do you think hemp bioplastics will take off? What do you think the commercial biggest use of hemp bioplastics will be in the future? We’d love to hear from you!
Learn more about whether Hemp can help solve plastic pollution here.

What would you say are the most sustainable ways to get high with cannabis? Like trying to minimize… weed miles… like the equivalent to food miles…. And eliminate or minimize future forever trash like lighters, plastic packages and shit … idk if there’s something else I’m not thinking of too. Thank you 💙
Grow your own! There are all kinds of how to videos online. You can have a couple of plants going at a time so they mature at different rates.
If you don't have the time to garden year round to build up a supply, you can usually look up what products are sold on a dispensary's website. With each product you can probably go the that product's website and you can find out where it's grown. It takes a bit more time but it's an option.

New Recycling Coalition to Improve Recovery of Plastic Packaging and Enhance the Circularity of PET Packaging
Leading companies from across the value chain take action to unlock the environmental and economic benefits of PET recycling.
WASHINGTON, D.C. (June 8, 2022) – The Recycling Partnership is pleased to announce the launch of its PET Recycling Coalition, an initiative informed by industry knowledge and expertise to improve PET (plastic #1) circularity. Its work will focus on addressing four key opportunities to increase recycling of this valuable material:
Increasing the capture of PET bottles
Broadening the acceptance of PET trays, cups, and clamshells in community recycling collection programs
Unlocking new supplies of recycled PET (rPET) for packaging manufacturers
Strengthening recycling systems for pigmented and opaque PET
PET plastic is in high demand for use in textiles such as clothing and carpet (where it is known as polyester) and it’s the most common type of plastic utilized in liquid bottles and food packaging today. While eliminating unnecessary usage is an important component of circularity, increased PET recycling is another critical step in advancing circularity. This along with company commitments and recycled content mandates in proposed U.S. legislation is leading to skyrocketing demand for recycled PET but supply is currently limited. Most Americans with recycling access are able to recycle PET bottles; however, just 54% can recycle other types of PET packaging like plastic egg cartons and fruit containers. Furthermore, the recycling rate for PET bottles was only 26.6% in 20201. While most PET never makes it into the recycling bin due to insufficient access and participation, as much as 17% of bottles that are recovered are lost at Materials Recovery Facilities (MRFs) due to sortation challenges. By supporting solutions identified by the PET Recycling Coalition, there is a great opportunity to increase recovery and reduce plastic waste and help make progress toward packaging circularity goals.
The PET Recycling Coalition will make grants to recycling facilities for sorting equipment and related capital needs. These upgrades will improve PET bottle capture, deliver more rPET for use back into bottles and thermoforms, increase the acceptance of non-bottle rigid items in community recycling programs, and strengthen recycling opportunities for pigmented and opaque PET. Through grants, technical assistance, and knowledge sharing, the Coalition envisions a thriving PET recycling system that captures significantly more material, enabling more circular PET packaging with increased amounts of recycled content.
“The Recycling Partnership is dedicated to building a stronger US recycling system, including material-focused efforts such as the PET Recycling Coalition. The success of these material-specific coalitions shows us that when we take a systems approach, we’re able to not only lift up that targeted material but all the other recyclables in the bin as well,” said Keefe Harrison, CEO of The Recycling Partnership. “We encourage all companies that use PET to join this coalition and be part of the solution.” 1 – NAPCOR 2020 PET RECYCLING REPORT
The PET Recycling Coalition is part of The Recycling Partnership’s Pathway to Circularity Initiative and aims to advance the circularity of all packaging. The Coalition is supported by and open to members representing all segments of the material’s value chain, including founding steering committee members Eastman, Procter & Gamble, and the Walmart Foundation.
“Eastman is deploying technology that transforms plastic ‘waste’ into valuable feedstock. And while making waste valuable improves the economics of recycling, we know technology alone cannot solve this crisis. Our country needs substantial innovation and investment in its recycling ecosystem,” said Scott Ballard, Eastman Plastics Division President. “We are excited to partner with leaders across the value chain to catalyze the change that will get all forms of PET, not just clear bottles, into our recycle stream. Together, we can create a circular economy, leave fossil feeds in the ground, and do it with a lower carbon footprint.”
“Recycled PET is an extremely useful material when used and reused responsibly,” said Mark Agerton, Group Scientist from Procter & Gamble’s responsible packaging R&D team. “This PET Coalition is a partnership to help provide the essential funding and innovations needed to increase recycling rates and drive true circularity of non-desired plastics.” “The Walmart Foundation is committed to programs that enable system-wide transformations – and this effort is a critical element of scaling on the infrastructure needed for PET circularity. The Walmart Foundation looks forward to working with the Coalition on transforming the recycling sector – and setting the foundation for designing a more circular economy for all,” said Julie Gehrki, Vice President of the Walmart Foundation.
Additional founding members include AMP Robotics, The Coca-Cola Company, Danone, The Kroger Co. Zero Hunger | Zero Waste Foundation, and Niagara Bottling. The Coalition set an initial funding target of $25 million over five years and is seeking additional supporters.
The PET Recycling Coalition is aided by an advisory committee of industry leaders, including the American Beverage Association, Association of Plastic Recyclers, Closed Loop Partners, Foodservice Packaging Institute, National Association for PET Container Resources, and RRS. In addition to serving on the advisory committee, RRS will serve as the Coalition’s technical partner and inform the Coalition’s strategy with supporting research.
Companies interested in improving PET recycling in the U.S. should consider becoming a Coalition member and an active participant in elevating solutions. To learn more about the PET Recycling Coalition, its members, and how to get involved in supporting its goals, visit recyclingpartnership.org/pet-recycling-coalition.
For MRFs and PET reclaimers interested in applying for a grant, the application is available on The Recycling Partnership’s website.

Buy Charcoal Online: In-depth Guide to Biofuel Wood Pellets
The choice of fuel is the prime consideration before you buy charcoal barbeque or a garden grill. It is vital to weigh your options carefully When choosing between a charcoal BBQ and a biofuel-based oven. With several factors to consider, taking the time to make the right decision can ensure that you get the most out of your investment.
In this edition of the Evolution fuel guide, I am dropping an overview of biofuel wood pellets.
Are Wood Pellets Sustainable
Emission is one of the crucial concerns when choosing fuel for domestic stoves. About 98% of this biofuel is consumed while grilling food. Pellets produce bluish smoke for flavouring food during grilling. These products are eco-friendly compared to traditional fossil fuels and charcoal, without liberating harmful carcinogens and particulates into the environment.
Food Safety Standards
BBQ wood pellets are made of processed food-grade hardwood sawdust. The raw materials are sanitised and passed through rigorous quality control checks to comply with culinary safety standards. Here are specific factors to look for on the packaging and product guide when buying pellets for cooking:
Food-grade wood pellets are made of 100% natural ingredients
Avoid products with synthetic binders, additives, and colours
Choose odour-free products to get the wood-fired aroma
Tumblr media
Benefits of Using Wood Pellets for Pizza and BBQ Grills
1. Natural Flavour Profiles One of the advantages of cooking with wood pellets is the unique flavour profiles. This depends on the type of wood in the pellets. If you are working with varying pellets, it is possible to achieve incredible aftertastes every time. From meaty aromatic sensation to savoury to smooth texture, pellets create rich and diverse culinary experiences.
2. Heat and Energy Efficiency
Wood pellets are a money saver cooking fuel, offering matchless efficiency. The dense texture regulates slow cooking while maintaining a high temperature and uniform heat distribution. It provides enough time at high temperatures for searing the meat. When the melted amino acids and marination spices drip on the wood, it produces thick aromatic smoke. And if you are cooking pizza in the oven, it offers sufficient time for the cheese to melt and the crust to get a soft texture.
3. Fun, Easy, and Manageable
Igniting BBQ charcoal requires a lighter fluid and time to start. Allow a long wait time to warm the oven before exposing food to the firewood.
Moisture-free pellets catch fire soon without using any burning fluid. It also eliminates the risk of catching an ignition liquid smell.
Once it is set to fire, you can get along with other activities or spend time with friends and family. 98% of the pellet components are consumed during the cooking, releasing little to no soot. The ashes will automatically collect at the base tray, easing the post-cooking chores.
Storage Instructions and Compatibility
Biofuel wood pellets are sold in specially designed plastic bags to prevent moisture contact and contamination. Seal the bag after use to avoid atmospheric impact. The pellets soak moisture from the humid air and become soggy very soon. Store these products in a dry and cool place for overall safety.BBQ or pizza pellets work great in wood-fired ovens, multi-fuel stoves, firewood pizza ovens, pellet stoves, and biomass boilers.
Avoid Using Infused Pellets
There is a lot of buzz among buyers often coaxed with alluring products. Some brands sell wood pellets infused with wine, oils, and aromatic spices. These items do not contribute to the cooking but may damage your grilling equipment. For instance, burning wine-infused pellets can lead to the formation of sticky ashes at the bottom tray. These things are tough to deal with, causing problems and loss of money.
Get Ready for the Ultimate Savory BBQ Treat
Hardwood biofuel pellets are the perfect option if you are looking for the best fuel for a manual barbeque or pizza oven. Pellets induce slow cooking at high temperatures to achieve the desired flavour profile. The dense composition of the pellets offers high-end burning efficiency, making them one of the most economical grilling fuels for wood-fired ovens.
To buy charcoal or wood pellets for your oven is always a personal choice. It is worth experimenting with a few alternatives to find the best suit. Happy Grilling!

Molded Pulp Packaging Market: Sustainability Innovates Packing Processes
Tumblr media
According to United Nations Environment Programme, around 36% of all plastics produced are applied in packaging, including single-use plastic containers. However, plastic pollution is a grave environmental concern, with around 85% of plastic packing ending up in landfills or as unregulated waste. The widespread plastic contamination has fostered the growth of plastic-free packaging solutions like molded pulp. Based on our estimates, the molded pulp packaging market is set to advance significantly over the forecast period 2023-2030, with a CAGR of 7.19%.
Molded pulp or molded fiber packaging has been restricted to niche segments, including egg trays. However, the growing use of various wood and non-wood pulp sources in manufacturing has expanded its application scope to various sectors, including beauty, food, and electronics. For instance, Knoll Packaging introduced its 100% Ecoform molded pulp compacts (using bamboo, wood, and sugarcane fibers) to replace conventional plastic compacts.
Consumer inclination towards greener products has dramatically increased molded fiber inclusion across multiple consumer goods industries, especially food packaging.
Sustainability Reforms Packaging Approach
Food packaging is among the major application categories in the molded pulp packaging market. Since the material is fabricated of a microporous structure enabling water absorption, its demand for perishable food packing has elevated. Moreover, its lightweight and high-strength properties have fueled its adoption for ready-to-eat meals and beverages. Plates, clamshells, cups, and bowls are widely adapted as packing solutions for various consumables, including vegetables, fruits, and juices. As per the World Economic Forum, the food industry accounts for over a third of global greenhouse gas emissions, which significantly drives the demand for sustainable solutions like molded pulp fibers.
Our analysis shows that Asia-Pacific leads the molded pulp packaging market globally. The rising disposable income and strategic initiatives heavily prompt the region’s growth. For instance, in March 2023, PulPac announced Nippon Molding Co Ltd as its first licensee in Japan, expanding its dry molded fiber production to Asia. Further, in April 2023, Sanofi and Haleon associated with PA Consulting and PulPac’s Bottle Collective Mission to develop a recyclable high-speed, low-cost dry molded fiber bottle production process. Such steps are thus expected to widen the scope of the studied market across the APAC region.
Technology-Driven Packaging: A Step Ahead for Molded Pulp
Advanced technologies like 3D printing have made molded pulp packaging manufacturing less energy-intensive. One such instance is HP’s Molded Fiber Advanced Tooling Technology, which enables fast and advanced design and production of molder fiber in 2 weeks as opposed to 4-6 weeks via conventional methods. As per the company, the end-to-end solution helps reduce maintenance and offers mass customization capabilities.
Over the past years, manufacturing technology has advanced immensely, giving final products smoother surfaces and refined designs. This upgraded appearance has also expanded the application range of pulp packaging across healthcare, industrial, and personal care industries. Based on the premise of eliminating costly production, 3D printing further emerges as an eco-friendly manufacturing solution. This ultimately creates opportunities for molded pulp manufacturers.
E-Commerce Expansion Amplifies Molded Packaging
Online shopping trends have existed for several years. However, COVID-19 accelerated its growth, resulting in e-commerce sales surging from 16% to 19% in 2020, as per UNCTAD report. Particularly, the food delivery sector witnessed robust growth, leading to the expansion of various delivery applications, including UberEats, Postmates, and DoorDash. Since molded pulp packaging offers easy transportation and supports recycling, several e-commerce players have adopted this packaging method. Therefore, expanding online sales creates a profitable market space for molded pulp in the packaging industry.
