I want to make a longer post about this someday but: I think Arya's TWOW arc is going to include her coming to terms with her identity as a Lady. This has been an ongoing conflict with her since her first chapter and I think her flowering in winds is going to mark a turning point. The theory of her having an apprenticeship with the courtesans holds a lot of weight and the idea of Arya going through puberty among a group of unconventional women she's fostered a positive relationship with is just too perfect. It would really have an impact on Arya reconciling her personal idea of what a Lady should be. There's also a lot that she could learn from them in terms of courtesies, communication, appearances, body-language, etc. that would elevate her current skill-set and ways her relationship with them could push the plot.
Not to mention she will undoubtedly reclaim her identity as Arya Stark, and her being a Lady is inseparable from that. Arya Stark is a Lady Stark and being a Lady is a social position, not a measure of how well someone preforms feminine tasks. She shouldn't have to relinquish her position because she doesn't fit patriarchal standards. That's not to say that she's ever going to be the perfect example of a traditional Lady but what I think will happen is that she becomes capable of playing the part. She plays several identities throughout the series but she's always been Arya underneath, so I think it's appropriate that she learns to adopt a "persona" that's part of her. Her remembering Ned putting on his "Lord's face" (+ the various examples of other characters being separate from their ruling persona) makes me think that Arya will be donning her "Lady's face" when she makes a return to Westeros.

Tease Tidbit Tuesday 💍

More from you’re where I wanna go (all prev snippets here)
Buck fidgets in front of the full length mirror, pulling at the cuffs of his tuxedo. The sleeves fit well enough, sitting at the correct length. He was measured by the best tailor in town after all. His mother makes sure to drop that bit of information, along with the general cost of the whole affair, into any conversation possible. The silver lining to Margaret’s wide open purse strings is that the wedding arrangements came together rather seamlessly in only a matter of weeks.
Buck recognizes that the unnecessary expense is as much for show as his marriage will be. Making the décor and reception grand ensures people will think Margaret cares for him and his bride to be. In reality, the sooner Buck weds the sooner she’s free of him. She’ll be able to live her life without the burden of his situation hanging over her.
…
Buck gives himself a final once over before he has to go downstairs for the ceremony. The oil slicking down his curls makes the dirty blonde strands appear darker than usual. He pinches the apples of his cheeks, trying for a bit more color. Mostly so the purplish bags under his eyes are less noticeable.
It doesn’t surprise him that he hasn’t slept well, it would have been more unexpected if he had. Especially as each passing night, bringing him closer and closer, sleep became more elusive and fitful. Fortunately anyone who’s caught on chalks it up to pre wedding jitters. Which, he supposes they are, just not in the usual sense.

thinking about how Franky knows Loid's marriage to Yor is a ruse (both for the real Operation Strix version and the fake get-into-Eden version), but Yor doesn't know that he knows. he's the only person Yor has met who knows it's actually just a marriage of convenience, and consequentially who knows that she isn't really in love with him (supposedly anyway heheheh), so theoretically he'd be the guy Yor can turn to if she wants to talk about how she actually is falling for her husband and that's weird and confusing, because Franky is already fully aware that she wasn't already in love with him. except she doesn't know that he knows, so she can't do that. makes me wonder if she'll find out before Loid gets outed as a spy and it becomes a moot point.

@thehelplessmortals shared this with me and...Penelope coded.
She definitely tried to gross out Odysseus in a dumb "You think you can handle me, idiot? >:) " way. (She's stubborn and in denial at first. When she realizes she actually likes him, she's a mess.) And while eating raw fish is normal for naiad-born in Sparta, when she learned Odysseus wasn't used to naiads in daily life, she just really went wild with it.
He's just staring at her kind of expressionless and she thinks "Ha, see? You don't really like me."
But he's just like
"You like carp? Cuz if you do, we got plenty on Ithaca! Many more fish too! And if we don't, I'll get you some!"
And she's annoyed because her plan didn't work. Girlie is self-sabotaging even though she thinks he's neat.

"The newly widowed Elizabeth (Woodville) was exceptionally vulnerable. Several of the trustees responsible for her jointure refused to hand over the manors that were meant to sustain her in her widowhood. Moreover, her brother-in-law, Edward Grey, had seized estates that her son Thomas should have inherited from his paternal grandfather, while her mother-in-law’s new young husband, Sir John Bourchier, had prevailed on Lady Ferrers to settle her principal properties on them jointly for life, ensuring that Thomas would have to wait far longer for this inheritance too. Rivers and Scales were pardoned in July 1461 and swiftly moved into the Yorkist establishment, which perhaps explains the success of the chancery suits Elizabeth launched to regain her jointure. Her son’s inheritance proved harder to recover. By 1463, Rivers was often in (Edward IV's) company and on his council, but Elizabeth needed someone with much stronger influence over the King. She turned to a distant kinsman, William, Lord Hastings, the King’s chamberlain. Hastings drove a very hard bargain for his aid but it was probably amid these negotiations that the King’s desire for Elizabeth was kindled."
