The day that Katsuki married her, most of his friends kept advising him it was not a good idea, she was a walking red flag, and she only loves him for his wealth since being the second-ranked hero he is and holding his own agency, money isn't a problem to him.
Until he got her pregnant. After giving birth to his son, recuperating, and finally moving on her own again, she left him without any notice, not any letter. He just got home and frantically made his way to his wailing child in his crib. Katsuki immediately picked him up and made his way to the kitchen preparing his child a bottle for his formulated milk. As soon as he felt the milk was lukewarm, he tap the nipple of the bottle on his child’s lips and saw how his son starts sucking it.
That made Katsuki leave work for a month until he was able to ask for help. With the help of Mitsuki and Masaru, they took care of their grandchild in daylight, and when Katsuki got off from work, he would pick up his child and take care of him by the night. Even though his mom insisted to take care of her grandchild full-time, Katsuki declined and said that he wanted to take care of his own blood as much as he can.
Years passed and his now 7 years old son adores him very much. He saw how his father beat up the villain and save people. It makes him want to be a hero like him. Every time Katsuki would come and pick him up from his grandparents, he would reenact the moves Katsuki did making Katsuki smirk.
“Alright brat. Stop with that and pick up your stuff. Let's head in.” Katsuki said parking his car in his garage as he opens the door for his son to get off.
“You look so cool! And you went kick! And then bam!” the kid said as he went and pick up his things from the back seat.
“I know I am. Now let's go inside.” Katsuki said locking the car door and going inside their home.
Once they both settled, Katsuki changed from his work clothing to his normal clothing and starts preparing their dinner. “Oi. Don't forget to work on your assignment!” he yelled, receiving awe in response that made him chuckle.
Katsuki watched his son drag down his school bag making his way to the living room where the center table is.
“I heard from your teacher you’re doing well,” Katsuki said as he chopped the ingredients.
“I need to be good so that I can be strong like you!” his son said making Katsuki smirk.
“You think I’m strong?” Katsuki looked at his son who was working on his homework by himself.
“Mhm!!”
Katsuki took his time watching his son count his fingers before saying aha as if finding out the answer. When Katsuki continued his chopping, little did he know his son suddenly went quiet and stopped writing. He stared blankly at his unfinished homework before speaking up.
“Dad,” he called out softly.
“What?” Katsuki replied thinking that he might need his assistance with his homework.
“Why don't I have a mom?”
His question made him halt his chopping. He knows the answer to his question and yet he was hesitating to say it. He's too young to know that his mom suddenly left them when he was still a baby.
“I saw my classmates being picked up my their mom.” His son added.
“I could pick you up after school.” Katsuki glancing at him.
“I hate being left alone at school when Grandma can't pick me up.. Sometimes, Ms. Y/n would take me out with her and eat in a cafe.”
This he didn't know. “What?”
“Sometimes grandma and grandpa can't pick me up because they have a lot of clothes to make so I'm always left alone at school with Ms. Y/n”
Why doesn’t his mom tell him this?
“How long do you usually wait for them to pick you up?” Katsuki was pissed.
“It gets dark outside. Ms. Y/n would take me to her home and would cook for me! She's a great cook, dad!”
Katsuki will make sure he’ll discuss this with his parents.
“Sometimes, Ms. Y/n is like a momma to me! She take care of me. She wipes the dirt off my knees whenever I tripped. She has a small apartment though. But it's very clean!” Katsuki stared at his son as he rambles about his teacher. “And, and, Ms. Y/n has a healing quirk! It's very cool whenever I watch her heal someone, her hands are glowing! Although if it heals, she’ll get a wound out of nowhere..”
Katsuki is now interested. He has this eagerness to meet this teacher his son is talking about. He's been too busy being a hero to the point he relies on his parents to drop his son at school. But after what he heard, this is the first time he’ll drop his son to school.

Halloween prompts no 28
Danny dropped his pencil when the door slammed open and a very angry vigilante pointed a finger at him, "YOU!"
The class around him started to chatter, wondering what was happening.
Voice raising an octave he answered dumbly, "Me?!"
"You didn't show up for the wedding!"
If the room full of teenagers were curious before they were nearly howling now. Fenton of all people is dating a potential superhero?! Marrying even?!
Standing up from his seat he grabbed his backpack, "I never agreed to the wedding!"
"Yes you did! I asked for your hand and you agreed!"
Danny thought back to when he and Robin first fought and he barely managed to hold his own, "I thought you were helping me up!"
"You will wed me as you agreed! Even if I have to challenge you for it!" Uh oh. Quick Fenton come up with something or you're gonna be a Wayne soon.
"Forced marriage is illegal in America!" Really brain? That's what you came up with???
"Then we will have the wedding in 'Eth Alth'eban!" Danny didn't even know what that was.
"Thats not the point!" Danny was acutely aware of all the eyes in the room, even Mr. Lancer seemed thoroughly enthralled by the scene that was unfolding. Which is just another reason why he needed to escape. He opened the window he had been edging toward since the start of this argument and flung himself out of it, ignoring the horrified screams of his classmates. He landed two stories down in the flowerbed and ran towards the football fields. Damian knew about Dannys powers, but that didn't mean he couldn't be deceived.
Damian followed after soon enough, leaving the class to explode with theories as to whats happening. Mr. Lancer took this moment to get back to what he was teaching by connecting it to what just happened and making them write a "short" story of a minimum 5 pages of what they thought happened here.
In reality Mr Lancer was an English literature major. Loving a good story came with the territory and oh boy did he need to know this story. Even if it was essentially just fanfiction from his students.
Theories run rampant throughout the school about what the truth was. Paulina even goes on a mushy gushy speel about The hero perhaps being a prince (technically true) that fell in love with Fenton (true), got Fenton to accidentally agree to a marriage proposal (true) and followed him here from his homeland to pursue his hand in marriage (also true)
The fact that Danny was constantly forced to use his powers in human form while being chased by his "fiance" was setting off every upgraded ghost alarm they came near, leading everyone to think Robin was a ghost. (Not true)
The Fenton parents go nuts when they find out a "ghost prince/ghost superhero no 2" was chasing thier son around and went to rescue him. Danny threatens to never forgive Robin if he kills his parents so birdy has to hold back.
Danny gets trapped in a ghost cage for a while as Fenton for his own good, gets told off by his parents as Phantom telling him they don't have time for him right now. Danny is both touched and offended. Even as thier top priority he's thrown onto the backburner. The chase ends with Robin carrying an unconscious Danny in a bridal carry into the Fenton portal while the camera in the lab livestreams it for all to see courtesy of a few tech nerds hacking
Tucker and Sam had been running interference all day and were exhausted. They were lucky Dannys secret was still safe.
Aka: Dannys Unfortunate Supernatural Romance from the Perspective of his Classmates
Do they follow them through the portal? Yes, but they have to corner Jazz, Sam and Tucker into letting them into the spector speeder under threat of snitching.
No one is allowed to ask why they're following a boomerang through the undead dimension.

I love that he quotes All Might here. It is an interesting way of framing heroism, and a perfect response to Iida, who was telling Deku it wasn't his business. To a hero, anyone in trouble is their business.

I love that Deku and Todoroki are just instant friends now. I feel like they never spoke to each other in season 1. They were set up as rivals during the tournament, but they ended up with a powerful bond.
Now when Deku sends his location with no explanation Todoroki just teleports to him like he is Deku's new fairy godmother. A very hot fairy godmother.

It is great to see him openly using his fire side. He has worked through some of his struggles and self-cared his way into arson. My inner pyro is screaming. Let's set things on fire!

This is a creative blood-based ability. I like how specific it is depending on blood type. It gives Stain an intimidating quirk while maintaining good limits to keep things interesting.

Come on, pick yourself up, Iida! This poor kid is going through it. He wanted revenge for his brother, but now his classmates are getting pulled into the line of fire.
I am surprised to see Todoroki reaching out to Iida since Todoroki was so socially withdrawn before. It makes me happy!

I get it, since the #2 hero in the country is his Dad, he might as well use Endeavour as a resource to learn about hero work. It is like Todoroki is compartmentalizing Endeavor into two categories: Hero and Dad. Staying emotionally shut off from "Dad" while utilizing the "Hero" side.

It is like a Deku triangle of inspiration. Deku inspired Iida in season 1 ------> Deku inspired Todoroki in the tournament ----->Todoroki is inspiring Iida now. I wonder if Iida will get the chance to inspire both of them in return as the show progresses?
I wish action scenes were not so hard to get good screencaps of. When Stain cut Todoroki and tried to lick his cheek I was screaming so loud. Stain is nasty, lol.

AU where Izuku places some boundaries, please.
there's a little troll in my head that wanted to take that literally. Izuku who's dreamed of being a land surveyor all his life or an Izuku who's a world champion Catan player. but i shall silence that troll.
1- the change can be traced back to one thing: Inko had a best friend all through her school years. A light-haired, spunky friend, a friend from a rich family, a friend with an enviable quirk and kind heart under a cold exterior. Rei Himura. Rei was never rude, but she did expect to be treated well, and her friends too. She often stood up for her classmates Inko and Masaru in a quiet tone that allowed no arguments. This defense lead to close friendships, and Rei encouraged Inko to set more boundaries, to stand up for herself more. Then one day, as Inko is considering Universities, Rei softly tells her that she's getting married instead. An arranged affair, from her family. Rei confesses that she was so strong at school because she was desperate for control, feeling none at home as her parents eroded her boundaries. Rei begs Inko to not let anyone do that to her, and promises she'll be fine- better to live with her soon to be husband than put up with her family anymore. Inko promises and asks Rei to tell her who, to leave with her instead. Rei doesn't, and leaves. Inko is heartbroken for a year.
2- Inko eventually decides she wants to be a monther. She's worked hard and saved for years, and she could adopt, but that would take even longer. Instead, she tells her friends-with-benefits Hisashi Akatani that she wants a baby. Hisashi says "uh, what!?" a couple of times, but Inko clarifies she doesn't want to coparent or have that kind of relationship with him. (Clear boundaries!) Just that she intends to get pregnant and have a kid soon, and it'd be convenient if he were the donor. This direct, clear boundaries is what she eventually teaches to Izuku, her son.
3- Izuku takes the lessons to heart. So, when Katsuki develops his quirk, Izuku establishes a clear boundary: Do Not Use Your Explosion Quirk On My Body. That boundary is broken. Izuku tells Inko. Inko teaches him how to enforce that boundary with some demonstrations. 
Izuku, within a year of boundaries and demonstrations, moves schools. 
4- Izuku wants to be a hero. No one in his class thinks he can do it, but they don’t mention it. Just say, “yeah, that’d be cool.” It half bugs Izuku. The fact that none of them think they can be heroes either is the other half that bugs him. Izuku tells all his classmates how their quirks- or other skills- could be great for heroics! One’s got a great quirk for coordinating large numbers of people in a rescue! One’s got hardening to protect himself in a fight! One’s the best in the whole class when it comes to math, she could build her own support tech, or run an agency! The class cheers up a bit. Izuku makes new friends, and a few even plan to get into UA with him.
Izuku goes into UA with a three old school mates, and four other friends of his get into other hero schools too!
5- Once at UA, Izuku defines sets about to define “boundaries” for his new classmates: what you can’t touch, Mineta, what you shouldn’t ask, Kaminari, what you shouldn’t assume, Iida, and- seriously, Kacchan? Haven’t you learned to not use your quirk on people when they tell you not to? it’s been years. you should be smart enough to figure it out.
Uraraka will end up being his second in command at inspiring their classmates with boundaries. Izuku was ready to be her best friend the second she apologized for stopping his fall with her quirk without asking, she just didn’t want him to trip. And honestly... Todoroki’s gonna take all their power combined to help.
+1- After Hosu, Izuku considers the LoV to be free game, since they have now twice trespassed his clearly established boundaries and hurt people. They don’t even make it to Kamino.

I’ve yet to see a fic like this so I’m taking it into my own hands and writing my own.
edit: There is some swearing in here. It’s also quite long but I might do a part 2. 
Katsuki Bakugo X diva!reader au.
You knew Katsuki since you were kids. His mum and yours were friends meaning that you often met up with him. As kids, the two of you got on well enough to play with each other. Usually with you playing the ‘Princess’ and him the ‘Heroic Knight’ who would save you. Though as you grew up, his pride and temper grew and your sense of style, attitude and mindset changed. The two of you no longer could get along. Whenever your mother and his would meet and, unfortunately, drag you two along, there would be squabbles and shouts to be heard.
“Can’t believe you walked out of the house looking like that today.”
“HAH? Says the one caked in makeup.”
“You son of a- “
“you plastic bit-“
This only ends with your mothers shushing you and cutting the get together short.
You didn’t go to the same school, which was a relief to both. That was until UA. The shock on both of your faces when you saw each other in 1a was incredible.
When first year at UA started. The whole of 1a quickly caught on that Bakugo had a hot head. Though he had a strong temper, they all did not underestimate his strength.
To the class, you seemed like a bitch. Judging anyone and everyone constantly, only caring about your own looks and feelings, not caring at all about school. While Bakugo somehow managed to make a few friends, you couldn’t make any until further into the year when your attitude changed towards your classmates with the help of Mina.
Despite now going to the same school, you both didn’t talk to each other at all unless it was absolutely necessary.
You once spoke to him when he burnt a part of your hero costume in a training exercise. It did not end well. The two of you where partnered up for just one task, as usual, Katsuki went ahead and took the lead. Told you to sit down and watch him while he attacks.
You rolled your eyes at him. Yes, you seemed as if you didn’t take training seriously enough since you were too busy with your hair or if you looked good enough, however, even you cared enough to keep your grades up. There was a reason for why you applied for this course anyway. That meant that you would not let him do all the work. You like attention too. With no communication or idea of a coordinated plan, the two of you followed ur own ideas and went to attack the dummy villain.
With delicate ease, you were about to get ur hands on the dummy, at the same time, so was Katsuki, he didn’t see you until was too late and so did you. The two of you collided and his explosion that was meant for the dummy, landed on you. This caused the fabric on your costume to burn and nasty looking holes to appear. He ruined your hero costume. How dare he.
The dummy long forgotten, the two of you started to fight each other.
“You are so FUCKING dramatic. It’s not like you were a super model before anyway!”
“You and your HORRENDOUS hair have no right to talk about being a super model!”
“I don’t want to be a dumb model. I’m here to become number 1!!”
“As if they would ever let a pig like you become number 1.”
Aizawa had to step in and stop you both. The two of you failed that training session.
At the time of the USJ incident happened, you got consumed by fear of there being actual villains in the area that you really could not think of what to do. You came across one villain and knew you had to fight against that villain. Your quirk allowed you to easily escape if you wanted to but you knew that if you left, this villain would simply go and find another classmate. While you did not get along too well with most of your classmates, Mina being an exception, you cared enough to fight the villain so no one else has to. Though because of your fear, you kept making many mistakes during the fight, proving you still have quite a lot to improve on. Thats when he came, with his loud explosions propelling him forwards and to the villain. You weren’t hurt that bad but you did have a few cuts and bruises, had he not arrived when he did, you believe that you would have been injured far worse. 
Once the villain was unconscious and on the floor, he told you to “fucking get out of the way” and go “back to the other extras”. That time you didn’t reply with another witty remark. Kirishima, who also was with Katsuki, did ask you for any injuries and said that you should join them both since it would be better to stay as a group. You simply nodded, words of agreement dying at your tongue, making it hard to get any words out. 
Katsuki noticed this unusual behaviour from you but did not say anything about it. He’d only glance at you every now and then to make sure you didn’t get left behind anywhere.  
When sports day came around, you made it through all the way to the one vs one matches. You even got the chance to fight Katsuki himself. The two of you were delighted to be against each other. Finally you could beat the other up without anyone getting in the way.
The match between you two seemed to go on for ages, in the end it was a test for who had the best stamina. Too bad your quirk gave out on you and you ended up dealing with some serious side effects of over using your quirk. This meant Katsuki Bakugo won. You did not like this. No, you wanted to keep fighting, you wanted that shitty grin wiped off his face.
However, as you were walked off the stage, Katsuki admitted to himself that he kinda like fighting with you. You gave it your all and victory never tasted sweeter. He felt the muscles in his hands cramp up but he couldn’t care, he felt too good winning against you. Though that feeling of sweet victory soon went away quickly after his match with Todoroki. 
You watched him as he came first in the sports festival. You watched him struggle and shout. You suppose that this passion to come out as the best is admirable but surely his behaviour right now is a bit overboard. You and everybody else knew that he wanted Todoroki to fight him just as you did. Perhaps you set his expectations a little to high. Though his fight with that gravity girl was quite intense too. 
It doesn’t matter what he felt, in the end you lost to him and that made you feel this horrible burn in your stomach. You wanted to win. You wanted to come out as top. How come you weren’t good enough?
Well perhaps you were putting more time into your physical appearance than your education but that doesn’t mean you weren’t putting any effort at all. You looked down at your nails, you remember doing them yesterday which was also when you could have been getting some last minute training in. 
Oh but your nails look pretty though. 
You ended up admiring your nails and how much more you have improved in your nail art. 
That ugly burn in your stomach died down a bit. Though as soon as you went home, your family members were praising Katsuki more than acknowledging the fact that you gave it your all too. Your younger siblings looked at him on the screen in awe as they watched his matches. 
Your eye twitched as jealousy rushed through your veins. He is not even here yet he has everyone’s attention on him. It should be you. Not him. 
But it always was him. Even when you were younger, the ride home after visiting his place was full of praises for him. He was not even there to hear the praises so what was the point? You were there though yet they had nothing to say about you. All you got was a compliment for how you looked that day. 
That was all you ever got compliments and praises for but you will take what you will get, even if those compliments slowly stopped after a while and you had to ask them to say something about how you looked. While everyone else around you thought that you were just another girl who is obsessed with clothes and makeup, your physical appearance meant so much more to you. To you, it made you feel like you weren’t so worthless. It gave you reassurance that while others may be better than you, may be more worthy than you, you at least have a pretty face. 
That day, after the sports festival, you couldn’t stand to sit and listen to your family’s praise for Katsuki anymore. Escaping to your room, you started to redo your nails. You needed something to distract yourself. Something to feel proud of. 
You later found yourself with an opportunity to get some hero experience while training under a pro hero. Considering how you did not even make it to the top three, receiving that opportunity had you jumping around your room. You went and told all your family members about it and you never felt more seen than you did at that moment. You saw your parents smile and praise you. Not Katsuki. Not your friends. You. 
Of course you had to have some bad luck when something so lucky happens. You see, you got to work with Best jeanist, the number 4 pro hero. That wasn’t the unlucky part, its the fact that Katsuki was also there. Seeing him there reminded you of when you first saw him in 1A. 
“The fuck are you doing here?” He asked you.
‘I could ask you the same thing.” 
“I asked first.”
“Okay. I don’t care.”
That lead to another argument between you both. It was only when best jeanist walked in that made you both shut up. During that first day, you and Katsuki went on and on with the insults, you mainly teasing him about the jeans and his hair. Putting the insults aside, you found yourself enjoying being around him. Yes, he called you rude names but he has been for years now and it isn’t like you call him anything that nice either. You noticed how he would wait for you, caught you when you tripped but immediately let go of you when you made eye contact with him. You saw him try to talk to kids and fail horribly. He saw you trying to act as if you are perfectly fine with new addition of jeans to your hero costume. He saw you look into every reflective window to see if you really did look decent with the jeans on. He saw you genuinely smile while talking to himself and Best Jeanist. 
Jeanist, however, could only see your weak points and where you have to improve. He knew that the two of you were quite strong already, he knew that if Katsuki had not been your first opponent in the sports festival then you stood a chance of coming second place. Yet he did not like either of your attitudes. One of you was far too obsessed with becoming number 1 and the other doesn’t seem to care at all. Best Jeanist definitely had his work cut for him with you two.     
While on the way back home you both had to take the train together. (I can’t remember if they stayed with the pro hero’s agency for the night or if they went home and came back the next day so just go along with it.) While waiting for the train at the station, you looked at him. His hair was still in the neat, clean hairstyle that Best Jeanist forced it into. Not that you would admit it out loud but you thought he looked cute with his hair like that. You could tell the hair was irritating Katsuki quite a lot. You debated on whether or not you should help him out. It’s not like he would say thank you but you have wondered if his hair is soft or rough from lack of care. So you decided to take your chance. 
“Hey Katsuki, look at me.”
“Ew, why would want to look at-”
You moved your fingers through his hair, gently pulling it out of the style it was forced into. To your surprise, it seemed like the livid boy does take care of his hair since though it was not silky, it was very soft to touch. Whats even more surprising, is that he let you fix his hair. You could feel his red eyes on you the whole 3 minutes that it took to make his hair back into the spiky mess it had always been. As if he was studying your face like he hadn’t been seeing it for the last 11 years.
“Finally, your hair looks horrendous again. Honestly though, I don’t even know how you can go around looking like- ” You say as you smile at your work. 
“Who said you could call me Katsuki?” 
You were a little taken back by his question. 
“I’ve always called you Katsuki since we were 4. Besides you call me by my first name too sometimes. Okay maybe it more rare than sometimes since you do call me ‘cake face’ or ‘plastic bitch’ most of the time even though I have had 0 plastic surgery whatsoever!”
He ‘tsk’ed and looked the other way. Though kept your eyes on him and did not fail to see his ears burn red. No way, is he blushing? 
“My hair services don’t go free of charge, Katsuki.” 
“Fuck you.”

1) Recently both @confusedhummingbird @spider-jaysart and I have been formulating an idea for a new character to act as a Wonder family member akin to Diana with Bruce and Clark, a character that’s a third POV and brings a more excited and passionate side to the Duo’s dynamic, someone to compliment them on adventures
Hence I shall take this questions as an opportunity to introduce a new character I can further develop in future posts.
Jake’s other best friend if not for Chris Kent would be named Penelope Haney Troy, a clone daughter of Donna Troy aka Troia created by Project Cadmus. She’s the lively, no nonsense, and adventurous type of girl about Jake’s age who’s always there to bring some comfort and fun to his life as he does for her. Oh yeah and these are in addition to a classmate Chris knows well back at school and Jasper Logan for Jake as well respectively for other best friends
2) Well that sort of relationship between Zsasz and Jake happens after a particularly difficult and cruel case involving some street orphans who are mercilessly taken by Zsasz, put into a gladiator type tournament where whoever survives then faces (and inevitably loses to) him. When Jake manages to find the location of this wicked scheme, Zsasz had him captured and personally taken into a duel against him, stripped of his powers, most of his equipment and even his own boots for this match. Had Jake won, the surviving children go free so the brave young hero takes that challenge. It was far from an easy fight as Zsasz was armed with both a butcher knife and a familiar rusty crowbar. The beat down Jake endured during this battle left him scarred both physically and emotionally while Zsasz was utterly remorseless in his work. Thus, Jake has deemed Zsasz his personal archenemy ever since

On a meta level, I just felt like Zsasz compliments Jake in that sort of ‘person driven by their commitment to their own’ archetype and give it a unique dark twist to it as Jake can attest to. Plus, since the original version of that arc (which btw introduced the world to Colin Wilkes) has its protagonist regularly nowadays have arch-nemeses linked to the League of Shadows in one form or another more often, that left Zsasz up for grabs thus Jake can fulfill that role
3) Oh I have a good passing knowledge of that book (mainly for the fact it’s further taking name of Chris Kent or rather Lor Zod in general further though the mud but I digress);
Now if there’s any sort of evil or at least anti hero mainline universe counterpart to the Starburst Duo, I would cast them being like a bastard preteen son of Blackfire and the aforementioned Vla-Blo (the young bully Kryptonian who was locked in the Phantom Zone by an ancestor of Chris and had the goal of humiliating the House of Zod for this perceived injustice) who both antagonize our main heroes in many fields with the notion in their minds of proving themselves superior to them, though often to failing results.
At least that’s what I can think of for this moment if anything comes up, I’ll let you know ;-)
4) Probably Mongul, a lot of it due to a time when he’s revealed as a mysterious business partner for Blockbuster regarding trading with for some reversed engineered fear toxin and the brawl that ensued between them and the Warlord tyrant was nothing short of brutal and devastating*, even if they stopped that shipped of fear toxin getting to Mongul’s hands.
*Just picture that what the Duo, also Corvus/Jasper Logan and Hoplite/Penelope Troy went through here with Mongul was akin to what happened with Mark Grayson aka Invincible and his friends when they faced Battle Beast for the first time.
5) Definitely the MCU as a general whole, Family Guy and about a few pro wrestlers they can name off the top of their heads….surprisingly not John Cena. More likely Randy Orton, Seth Rollins, The USOs and definitely The Rock. Heck Dwayne Johnson both in wrestling and especially as a film actor, they can’t stand people who claim he’s the best…or rather fittingly The Great One. It internally the Duo out hearing about him in school all the time.
6) Easily the Monsterverse movies, Hell’s Kitchen, We Bare Bears, and during the Halloween season Hellraiser (that’s if Chris and Jake are feeling brave enough to watch through it’s more gruesome moments lol)

Japan and Bullying

Bakugo implied Deku should jump off a roof. Fact. But “canceling” Bakugo over bullying Deku without acknowledging the series’ point that the motive for “evil” and pressures that inspire it are bigger than just one person is, well, reductive to the thesis of the story. It is also culturally naive.
This article from the Atlantic discusses Japan’s current education climate in a general sense through taking a look at Precarious Japan, but it also includes an interesting comment about bullying: “The notorious bullying in Japanese schools has actually been seen by many parents and teachers as a feature not a bug.”
What does that mean? Well, it can mean a lot of things. But here it means that Bakugo and Deku’s peers and authority figures—and especially Bakugo himself as Deku’s osana najimi (childhood friend)—was expected to bully Deku into fitting into the mold of a quirkless nobody. (That’s not exactly why Bakugo did it, but that is the expectation placed upon him by his social role and the thing that has been signaled to him by society as the correct thing to do regardless of his true motive. He takes it too far in the first chapter, “even for [him]” as his classmates point out, but the act itself is borderline socially sanctioned.) This is also why Bakugo and Deku’s middle school teacher announces Deku’s goal of attending UA to the class. He is actively trying to pressure the dream out of Deku via his peers as professional Heroism isn’t something a quirkless person is suited for. While presented much more condescendingly and aggressively than my next example, the teacher’s underlying logic is the same as Inko Midoriya’s fervent apologies to her son upon his quirkless diagnosis and his realization that it compromises his dream of being a Hero “like All Might”.
In fact, from Inko’s perspective or the perspective of a lot of Japanese parents, Deku being bullied for his quirkless dream in context of his dangerous Hero goals can reasonably be construed as a way of “protecting Izuku from himself.” Repeat it to yourself until it sinks in: “The notorious bullying in Japanese schools has actually been seen by many parents and teachers as a feature not a bug.” I am not saying she would approve of Bakugo telling Deku to “take a swan dive off a building and hope you get a quirk in your next life”, but I am saying that the bullying from Deku’s peers overall is something she likely expected.
While Horikoshi has said in interviews that what Bakugo said at the beginning of the series (“take a swan dive off a building and hope you get a quirk in your next life”) was harsh and cruel (and perhaps even a bit too much even for Bakugo), the spirit of what he was getting at (which would be something like, “You’re mental for thinking you can get into UA, you quirkless shitnerd”) is phenomenally on brand for him. 
What do I think as a Bakugo fan? I think Bakugo is more entertaining as a character in part because he is legitimately nasty upon his introduction. Who wants a toothless first-act antagonist that isn’t threatening? That’s boring. That’s so boring. I like Bakugo more for being so aggressively terrible in the beginning because it gives us more to unpack, particularly since Deku’s reaction to it is a clue that their dynamic is utterly complicated. The only thing I might change is the phrasing so Bakugo says more directly, “Go die and see if that gets you a better quirk next time, shitnerd” because the insidious, sideways phrasing of “take a swan dive off the roof” sounds more like something Monoma might say to get under an opponent’s skin.

But even more importantly: Bakugo’s role as an early-series representative for the reality of the Hero society in which he and Deku live is established by the complicated relationship the two of them have as osana najimi and bully-victim. Bakugo’s role as a pseudo-conforming bully is also an ideal starting point for his as a character’s journey of awareness of the greater implications of the world around him as well as beginning to look within himself and what he actually values. 
Bakugo’s abrasive introduction is an ideal starting point for a character meant to grow into the role of a trickster hero.
My Trickster Hero Academia
An antihero isn’t exactly a trickster hero and a trickster hero isn’t exactly an antihero, but they can overlap. Bakugo’s transition into a “heroic” role isn’t one of exact and consistent conformity. It is instead ambivalent and meant to challenge the social convention by subverting it or using it maliciously to prove a point. Bakugo does this repeatedly (treating Ochako as a legitimate opponent in the Sports Festival; making Kaminari shock himself to lighten the mood; framing the Culture Festival as a challenge and competition rather than a friendly event; Bakugo repeatedly indirectly sniping at Endeavor during their internship; acting up in the Todoroki household in response to Fuyumi and Shoto breaking social convention and discussing their family problems to guests; the harsh dichotomy between what he says, what he means, and how it usually reflects the truth of the world’s reality despite how others try to frame it…)
Usually, the “trickster” part of a trickster hero’s name refers to the character in question stealing or performing the “trick” as an act, but it can refer to general mischief. The Monkey King—the figure on which Goku is based off of and named for—is one of the most famous trickster heroes.
In order for me to explain Bakugo’s most potent tool for the subversion of social convention as well as the most important lens to understand regarding his struggles with identity, I need to explain a distinct feature of modern Japanese social norms.
Honne and Tatemae: Public and Private Faces

Of all the masks and roles Bakugo puts upon himself, this is the most complicated concept and yet the most important to understand when it comes to his forms of self-expression, “Heroic antiheroism”, and status as a trickster hero: honne and tatemae. Or, in English, the “public face” and the “private face”.

I could not possibly unpack all of honne and tatemae. In fact, I’d hazard a guess that, compared to the grand scheme of all Japanese media, the portrayal of it in MHA ain’t even that deep or complex. But the fact that it exists and has bearing on these characters is worth noting. Bakugo’s struggle with honne and tatemae, while distinctly an Eastern struggle, is also a very common one.

The tatemae is supposed to be friendly or socially acceptable, polite, and professional (or at least match the level of formality/casualness inherent in the setting). In fact, in a professional or social role setting (such as those of “matriarch” or “club president”) the tatemae is almost like a role one is meant to play that supersedes all individual opinion, expression, or presentation. The individual takes on the role society gives them for the benefit of the whole and only “removes” it in private spaces and among those intimately close with the individual (and this does not always mean a husband or wife show their honne to one another. Some may also wear a tatemae of “husband” or “wife” in varying degrees depending on the depth of the relationship.) 
Conflicts born from a character’s honne conflicting with their tatemae is a standard theme in Japanese drama. This is the best watered-down analogy I can make: honne/tatemae conflicts are like when characters have to choose between themselves or what they love and some duty they must carry out.
More than anything else, the thing Best Jeanist was trying to groom in Bakugo isn’t exactly his whole personality, but his tatemae and the feelings of cooperation that inspire the use of an agreeable tatemae in the first place. Westerners can think of it like Best Jeanist is trying to groom Bakugo’s “professional face”, but the concept is a little more nuanced than that.

So, because Bakugo is rude, mean, blunt, and generally obnoxious, this must mean he doesn’t have a tatemae, right? Wrong. Bakugo does have a tatemae: one of a loud, overconfident cartoon delinquent protagonist antihero that makes room for the more negative aspects of his honne. While Bakugo has not completely mastered the art of keeping his honne and tatemae separate, he does have both and he switches between them at will. If you understand this, his antics become a lot more interesting because it is apparent that he, while rarely outright lying, implies one thing with his speech while in pursuit of a seemingly contrasting objective. 
If you ever think Bakugo is being completely honest on the surface, you’d best make sure he’s not putting on delinquent airs or smiling his most terrifying battle-ready smile. And even then, you’d best think about why he says what he says before you get a good picture of what he is actually trying to express. The shonen delinquent persona, the shonen protagonist slant to his Hero persona, a literal hero mask… all of these are part of his tatemae. It is understood by most Japanese readers that many of the ways Bakugo portrays himself are his own specific and socially required brand of saving face. Paradoxically, this sometimes includes the moments in which he is breaking conventional tatemae social rules.

My favorite example is Bakugo’s accompaniment of Deku during the War Arc. Bakugo says he is following Deku in order to get revenge on Shigaraki (which is not totally untrue) and implies with his face (a tatemae “public face” smile) that he is excited by the prospect. Meanwhile, Deku knows that in truth, Bakugo is trying to take responsibility for All Might’s forced retirement, which he feels guilty for having a hand in. The panels even show Deku thinking about his (literal) “private face” honne. To make it more complicated, Deku doesn’t completely understand that Bakugo is trying to protect Deku because he cares about Deku and not just because it is the most tactically sound thing to do for the wielder of One for All.

When Bakugo declares his Hero name, the self-aggrandizing and unheroic-sounding “Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight” to Best Jeanist, he also declares that he is intent on not conforming to the understood tatemae conventions but will do with them as he sees fit. Best Jeanist said a Hero name represents one’s wish, and that is Bakugo’s: to ascend beyond convention and do whatever he wants as he sees fit.
Inarticulate Angry Young Man: Trapped By Tatemae

Bakugo uses his multifaceted tatemae to express his individuality simultaneously to protect and obscure the same thing from others. But the longer one wears a mask, the more it becomes them. While Bakugo always had a burgeoning sense of tatemae (he pretended to be a confident “superior” to Deku despite being absolutely scared shitless of him, after all. Do you think all of that was childish bluster and not just honne/tatemae? Why, yes, it was! But posturing and aggressive fronting to save face overlaps mightily with the tatemae concept in emotionally immature individuals!), he wasn’t very skilled at completely separating it from his honne, nor was he very good at identifying his own honne in the first place.

Bakugo is, very pointedly, fighting a war within himself and with the entire concept of social obligation as it pertains to his collectivist society. Even when Bakugo switches between his personas or drops his tatemae to show his honne—or fails to articulate himself well regarding either one—he is consistently aware of the bigger picture. Unfortunately, he isn’t always very skilled at expressing himself directly, especially in the early series and it made a nasty combination with his overlapping, underdeveloped honne/tatemae. The result is a very abrasive teenage boy (who happens to have a superpower.) Like I said in the beginning, Bakugo is, at his core, a very common kind of kid you might find in modern Japan.

The ending of the Sports Festival—and every ham-fisted “I should be your rival!” overture he makes towards Todoroki for the duration of the arc—will forever be my favorite showcase of how Bakugo always has more than one motive that he can’t express AND how bad he is at communicating in a general sense.
Not Just Redemption: Bakugo’s Growth Is in His Honne

Some character arcs are not about changing outward behavior, but rather for changing motives behind that behavior and how much a character understands about their world and the people around them. The original Monkey King’s arc is structured this way. Dragonball’s Goku (the Japanese one more than the one in the dub) likewise follows this model. Bakugo’s arc does as well.

Bakugo points this out himself whenever he refutes other characters insisting he has changed. Bakugo’s arc isn’t one of redemption for redemption’s sake, but rather one of self-awareness. Put simply, he makes a change from an antihero (doing heroic things for unheroic reasons) to a trickster hero (and classic hero, as he occasionally does heroic things for genuinely heroic reasons.) This doesn’t mean Bakugo’s presentation (tatemae) changes. This doesn’t mean he becomes polite.

A Hero Name Is A Wish: Tatemae that Reflects an Enlightened Honne
Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight. I adore Bakugo’s Hero name and I will fight anyone who doesn’t. It’s stupid and self-aggrandizing, gives Best Jeanist the middle finger, and is also points out the fact that he realizes he has “reached enlightenment” after figuratively dying and has ascended to godhood. This ascension to enlightenment is the culmination of the Monkey King’s story in Journey to the West—and it follows that it is a major part of Dragonball’s trajectory for Goku.
Also, his Hero name announcement provides comic relief and an in-story morale boost in the middle of a horrific battle - all while he’s bleeding out on the ground. If that doesn’t exemplify Bakugo’s penchant for redirecting the mood, I don’t know what does. He could’ve just said “I’m still alive!” but instead made the choice to pull a stupid stunt.
I’m not done discussing honne and tatemae yet, but before I get any farther I need to touch on another subtopic.
Osana Najimi: Childhood Friends

What’s an osana najimi, you ask? It’s a childhood friend much like Bakugo and Deku are. Why is it important that Bakugo and Deku are childhood friends? Because in Japan, these kinds of friendships are forged before kids begin to develop, differentiate, and be expected to uphold the honne and tatemae. They are very valued relationships in many Eastern cultures, Japan included, because they have an intimacy about them that is not accessible in new relationships.
Childhood friends relationships (both the romantic and platonic kind) are romanticized in Japanese media. It’s a whole trope. Bakugo and Deku’s status as osana najimi with an early falling out is an interesting take on the osana najimi trope in anime—particularly in how it alters the understood interpersonal boundaries between Bakugo and Deku as bully-and-victim. That’s also why the other characters point out that the two of them are “childhood friends” as opposed to just “friends a long time ago”.

Childhood Friends Aren’t Restricted by Tatemae

Or are they? I wonder. While childhood friends are supposed to know one another without tatemae, Bakugo and Deku have, through the rift between them, are in a relationship that forces them both to use a tatemae with one another. As Deku points out, they had never talked things out prior to their fight in Deku vs Kacchan 2. Afterwards, they maintain a relationship centered around training because that is the only indication Deku has given Bakugo that he wants from him. The two of them still do not know what the other is thinking nor are they sure where the boundaries lie.

Manga readers’ mileage may vary when it comes to when they believe Bakugo first wanted to apologize to Deku for bullying him, but he definitely wants to do so earlier than when it actually happens in the manga. It’s interesting to watch Bakugo grapple with it even if he doesn’t deliver entire soliloquies about his internal chemistry. I have an (admittedly) emotionally charged post about it here.
Audience anticipation regarding Bakugo’s apology (and the constant denial of it) is a major source of MHA’s tension. Horikoshi does a great job of making the audience (read: me) care about this moment by making us (read: me) care about Bakugo and the hoops he goes through to tell Deku that he’s sorry.
Making the wronged party feel guilty is not the best way to deliver an apology, and Bakugo knows that. In fact, Bakugo does the most legwork between himself and Deku when it comes to communicating. Despite appearances, Bakugo leads the way on the emotional development and goes out of his way to support Deku whenever he can without overstepping the tentative boundaries between them. To tie this back to the honne and tatemae discussion: sometimes (only sometimes. Not all the time! Sometimes he is just a shit in sincerity) Bakugo’s bad attitude is a security blanket for them both!

The greatest compliment I can give Horikoshi’s writing for Bakugo (and many of the other characters) is that he usually has more than one motive at any given time. He may not express them all well or completely (this is usually one part “he’s bad at communicating” and one part “he is upholding his tatemae” and sometimes “In order to discuss this he would be giving out sensitive information he’s been trusted not to share” and also sometimes “holy crap the other people involved in this situation are truly not ready to talk about it! Good luck navigating that, Bakugo!”)
Bakugo’s Apology and the Mistakes of the Previous Generation
Time to step back into the history within Bakugo and MHA’s shonen DNA.

Bakugo’s retrieval of Deku (MHA protagonist with an ambivalently loaded bomb-esque ultimate shonen superpower) from the streets of Kamino alongside the class—as well as his apology—eerily resembles the shade of a classic shonen protagonist from an age gone by talking the new-generation protagonist out of making the same mistakes he did (in emulating the unforgiving, victorious power of the West and becoming a figure just like his predecessors). Considering that All Might, the in-story previous generation superhero mentor (with Western-coded persona), regrets being unable to reach out to Deku and tell him, “don’t make my mistakes” himself, Bakugo’s role as the mouthpiece for the final exchange of 1-A’s retrieval, including language about surpassing All Might, seems to lean even harder in that direction in my mind.

Bakugo was All Might’s proxy and, thanks to all of class 1-A, surpassed All Might in reaching Deku. But he also gave Deku a message that only a classic shonen protagonist who lived through the experience of having the power of a bomb at his fingertips in their shared modern social conditions could.

That Bakugo closely resembles the Second User, a fallen warrior from an age gone by who is focused on the association of victory and life versus failure and death in a literal way rather than a social one like Bakugo, is also something worth noting in this context.

But is it Enough? Lex Talionis and Bakugo
Many MHA fans dislike Bakugo because of his early series treatment of Deku or his continued rudeness. There exists a desire for Deku or someone else to “pay back” Bakugo for his treatment in kind as some sort of retribution, or perhaps for Bakugo to be cowed and his manners curbed into something less loud and aggressive.
While it’s perfectly fine to dislike Bakugo for any reason or find him annoying (I am a fan and I find him annoying), I have to say: this point of view sounds an awful lot like the point of view of the existing hypocritical society in the work. Maybe MHA isn’t the story for those people.
Honne and Tatemae Taken Out of Context: A Note on the Western LGBTQIA+ Community and Bakugo’s Popularity

Westerners don’t share the concept of honne and tatemae, but if you are an individual who has ever tried to “pass” in your current life or former life, you probably understand the paradoxical nature of “fronting” to other people with a social presentation indicating one thing while your personal beliefs and feelings are different. If you don’t, that’s completely fine. Bakugo is a cruddy teen boy with authority problems who is trying to figure himself out. That’s all you need to know. However, speaking specifically to the LGBTQIA+ audience: there sure is a HECK of a lot of correlation between Bakugo’s honne/tatemae experience and a modern queer one.

To Western readers in the pertinent queer weeb community, it’s a well-known observation that Goku-esque shonen protagonist types come off as being somewhere on the grey/ace spectrum. This isn’t definitive for any of these characters, but is just something to keep in mind about how certain demographics perceive them. In Bakugo’s case: he is absolutely and completely uninterested in romance or girls, and not even in the “ew cooties” or “that would be embarrassing!” way. His antipathy and boredom with the concept seems sincere. (And if he’s even so much as emotionally interested in anyone, it is restricted to a specific selection of other guys in his class.)

There is not much in media that the asexual and aromantic communities can turn to, so it may as well be found in characters like Bakugo. It’s about all we’ve got.
A Note on Eastern Fujoshi
While this demographic is not interested in connecting with a queer or queer-coded character because they relate to that experience, Bakugo’s, um, canon relationship with characters like Kirishima, Todoroki, or Deku endear him to fujoshi. It is important to note that fujoshi often (but not always! Not always! The fujoshi community is huge and wildly different in different countries) are homophobic in real life but enjoy the fantasy of two dudes in love for their consumption. The fujoshi view and appeal drawn from the idea of Bakugo potentially being in love with another male character is completely different from folks who are actually part of the LGBTQIA+ community!
Anyway, that’s enough about all that gay shit for now. Back to the questions that really matter.
Tsundere: Bakugo’s Last Mask

Bakugo is annoying. As a sincere fan, I’m telling you that he is annoying. Somehow, he makes it work. It’s part of the package. While he is not as obnoxious as a moe-style tsundere squealing “it’s not like I like you or anything!”, the trope is the same. And no, I don’t just mean in a potentially romantic context with his osana najimi Deku. I mean that Bakugo is a tsundere to everyone.

As subtle as some of Bakugo’s storytelling can be, just as much of it is comically unsubtle. Ochako Uraraka seeing right through him and eliciting a look of panic on his face is a personal favorite bit of content.
If a reader is paying attention, they may notice a correlation between moments Bakugo either loses or is not wearing his Hero mask and moments his honne, including his flustered tsundere self, appears. One may also notice that, sometimes, the screen-tone shadows on the top of his face in moments of conflict or anger sometimes take the place of his obscuring hero mask.

If you didn’t look into that Reddit thread about osana najimi/childhood friends I linked earlier, here it is again for your convenience.
Before I discuss this, I want to once again point out that there are non-romantic osana najimi relationships between same sex characters in lots of media. There’s also plenty of platonic opposite sex osana najimi portrayals. They follow their own set of similar tropes, but what’s interesting about Bakugo is that he incorporates these same-sex tropes as well as the “love interest” osana najimi tropes. No, I am not saying that BakuDeku is canon. I am only pointing out the overlap of tropes present in their relationship.
Osana najimi relationships are often used to evoke security and safety as well as an idyllic past. Depending on the thesis of the work, the main character generally either ends up in a relationship with the (traditionally Japanese in appearance) osana najimi as a representation of maintaining tradition and honoring the past or they end up with the (foreign-looking, exciting, and contentious, and often a tsundere) girl who challenges the main character and represents the future and the outside world.
Bakugo is an osana najimi figure, but he is also a loud, blonde tsundere who is a catalyst for change and mystery for the main character. In conclusion: BAKUGO IS BEST GIRL! AND I DON’T MEAN THAT HE’S GONNA END UP WITH DEKU. I JUST MEAN THAT HE IS BEST GIRL BECAUSE I LOVE HIM AND HE IS THE BEST EVERYTHING!
These osana najimi qualities combined with the fact that Deku saves Bakugo in the series twice inspires some fans to call Bakugo the “Heroine of the series” or even “Princess Kacchan”. It’s just a funny little detail.

I’ve unpacked the history of shonen manga in brief, so I will try to make the culture and history of Shonen Jump publisher Shueisha even more brief: it’s sexist and the standards for portraying women and girls in their shonen series is sexist, too.

The biggest success of the Uraraka vs Bakugo “girl power moment” is that it has a nice execution, isn’t cloyingly preachy (because let’s be real—Aizawa gives a full sermon to the audience over this), and doesn’t come off as insincere. Of all the conflicts Bakugo has with society and its expectations, the presence of this one within a Jump title is notable. One does not usually read about a female character being taken seriously to the point that the male main characters are allowed to trade blows with them as equals in the ring and not be portrayed as a completely villainous thing. That she loses to Bakugo is second to the point—Uraraka performs well, pulls off something legitimately impressive, and is treated like an equal in the ring for better and for worse.
Is MHA the most feminist of titles? Not by a long shot. But the bar is so low that it is notable whenever anything like this happens.
Bakugo’s choice to fight Uraraka in the Sports Festival despite popular opinion is one of the moments that establishes him as an antihero, by the way.

Horikoshi is a fantastic illustrator and character actor. Honestly, the amount of charm and expressivity his work imbues his characters with is something I can neither overstate nor begin to even put into words.
I don’t spell this out in the slides, but part of Bakugo’s popularity stems from the fact that he has some of the best background gags. I don’t find him as funny in the anime, but in the manga he consistently makes me smile.

I included some well-known anime shots here, too. If one doesn’t appreciate him when he is screaming “SHINE!” (“DIE!”), one doesn't deserve him at his sparkliest. My personal favorite Bakugo manga face is on the top left corner.
He’s My Hero, But He Doesn’t Have to Be Yours Part II
Bakugo combines genre history, media tropes, and the subversion of cultural norms into one character. While this makes him a strikingly complicated portrayal of a teenaged boy influenced by his world, it also requires the audience to understand the greater context surrounding his creation and influence to foster a full appreciation of his portrayal in MHA. Not everyone appreciates that and that is perfectly ok.
Some people like loud and aggressive characters even without the bigger context of why they might act the way they do. Just as many hate that kind of character regardless of these details. It is what it is. As for me, I love him, but more than that, I appreciate you for reading this. Hopefully, it brought value to your MHA-consumption experience.

It was now 6 am in the morning and usually, at this hour, Katsuki would be carrying his snoozing son in his arms while he got his things to drop him off to his parents and left for work. But today is different.
“I’m dropping you off at school tomorrow,” Katsuki said turning his back to his son and proceeding with cooking.
“Really!?” His son excitedly said, eyes gleaming with joy. “My classmates get to see you!”
“Yeah, yeah. Make sure you got the things you needed for school so there won't be a problem tomorrow morning.” Katsuki said.
Once he was done cooking, he took two small bowls from the kitchen cabinet and a pair of chopsticks before placing them all down on the dining table. He then moved back to the kitchen and grab the dish he made and place it on the table as well. “Oi. Time to eat.” He called out. But as soon as he went to check the living room, he saw no one.
“Tch.” He tched. “Kazui!! Get down here and eat!”
“Yes! I’m coming, i’m coming!” His son yelled and arrived, running downstairs from his room. “I was just packing the stuff I need as you said!”
“Don’t run down the stairs, brat!” Katsuki crossed his arms as he watched his son make himself comfortable. Hearing a small sorry from him made Katsuki ruffle his child’s hair before sitting down beside him.
Katsuki was taking his time preparing their breakfast. A simple egg and fried rice in the morning would be healthy enough for both of them. Once breakfast is done, he searches for his son’s school lunch bag before grabbing the bento box from its drying shelf. Settling the bento box on the kitchen counter, he made his way to his fridge where he grab three pieces of strawberries and sliced them into bite sizes, two pieces of bread pudding, and an orange juice box. He brought out the sausages he prepared earlier from the microwave to keep them hot and place all his son’s lunch in his bento box and put it inside the bag along with the chopsticks.
Katsuki was used to this manner by now, especially since he is convinced that him, preparing his son’s lunch would be so much better rather than his mother who he was a hundred percent convinced that Mitsuki would give Kazui sweets that were unhealthy. The only difference today is he’ll be dropping him off at school.
Thanks to Kirishima taking an early shift, he manages to fit this into his schedule.
Once everything was completed, Katsuki made his way to his son’s room. Knocking oh so quietly before inviting himself in.
“Oi. It's time to wake up.” Katsuki said as he stood by the bed. Although, seeing his son didn't move an inch made him raise his voice a bit. “Brat. Time to go to school.” His second attempt at waking him up seems to work when he saw him shift under his blanket before slowly sitting up, hair disheveled.
“Papa..” Kazuo mumbled rubbing his eyes.
Katsuki's gaze softened. Boy, he was glad that his son looks exactly like him. The only difference he can see was Kazui’s hair looking a bit smooth due to his ex-wife's straight ones unlike his spiky ones, and no permanent scowl.
“Come on. Breakfast’s ready.” Katsuki said. He saw his son raise his arms asking to be lifted up which Katsuki did without breaking a sweat. “And there I thought you were a big boy now,” he mumbled. He exited the room and went down to the kitchen where he seated his son on his chair.
An hour and a half passed and both father and son were now ready to leave. Kazui has his backpack on and Katsuki was now wearing his work clothes. He got everything ready before they both depart their home and directed straight to their garage where his auto was waiting.
While Katsuki was arranging his son’s car seat, he felt Kazui tug his pants from outside the car. “What is it?” He asked while concentrating on what he was doing.
“Why aren't you in your hero costume?” Kazui asked a bit sad that his classmate won't be able to witness his dad wearing his hero suit.
“My suit remains inside my office where I change. Plus wearing my suit while dropping you off at school would be risky. I don't want any villain striking your school just because they saw me drop you off.” Katsuki said. “Get in.” He added and secure the belt around Kazui who was now seated and closed the car door once the belt was secured. He then gets into the driver’s seat and fastened his seatbelt before he starts the engine and drove off.
The drive was peaceful and quiet. Katsuki is focusing on the road while his son watches everything pass by. Although, this quietness of his son sometimes makes him wonder where he got it from. Not from him, nor his mother that's for sure.
His train of thought was cut off when the school was within his eyesight. Katsuki slightly stepped on the gas and reached the front of the school where he saw a lot of kids being dropped off by their parents. Once he saw where he could park, he turned off the engine. But as soon as he exited his car, people around him started looking.
"Oh, my god. It's Dynamight."
"Mommy look! A hero!"
"Dynamight is here!"
Katsuki tched at this, especially when he saw they started coming closer. But he paid them no mind and went to the back passenger seat where Kazui was waiting for him.
Katsuki open the car door, unfastened his seatbelt, and then helped him get off the car. When Kazui was off, Katsuki slam the car door shut. It was loud enough to let the people around him hear.
"Didn't know there would be a lot of people around here at this hour. Should've fucking gotten my disguise." Katsuki mumble.
"Papa, language." His son scowled at him grabbing his papa's hand.
"Shut it," Katsuki answered and grasp his hand as they both crossed the road.
Once they get to the other side, Katsuki saw a woman that seems to be younger than him exit the building. Her (Hair Length) (Hair color) hair swayed with the wind as she greeted every parent with a smile.
"Look, papa! It's Ms. Y/n!"

Honestly, it's not even all that surprising that Porter made a name for himself by being the most troublesome of troublemakers. And that title applies to both his time in Scepter Hall, and when he started attending NRC.
Porter has an adventurous spirit to him that drives him forward! Always wants to see the outcome of things, even if they seem to not go his way.
When they do, he's pretty darn proud of himself for getting it right! When they don't, er, Porter gets a little petty. Always been like that, that boy.
He loves teasing others just as much as he loves childhood bedtime stories. Which is to say: He loves teasing his friends a lot. Literally relentless, he won't stop until he gets them to crack a smile. His teasing’s pretty hit-and-miss, however, depending on the mood of his friends.
A bit too forward about what he wants, this one. Porter has no shame about what he says, and he makes that clear in the way he expresses his wants and needs! (This is both a good and bad thing, as according to some of his classmates, he can come off as a bit aggressive)
Do not try to give this man a bad day, he'll become an absolute menace just to spite you.
Endless pranks, constant teasing, never-ending ‘torment’ that won't come to a close until — and only until — Porter gets his way.
A bit much for a method, but hey, at least it gets the job done.

BnHA Ch.355 - Review, parallels & comparisons
I didn’t love this chapter as a whole, but I still think there’s some good stuff worth noting. First, Jiro! She’s clearly not prepared for the unholy monster that is AFO. (And, to be slightly fair, AFO is using some new quirks we haven’t seen before, like whatever turns his arm into a semi-sentient demigorgon that bites his opponents.) Plus she’s flying on a classmate’s back. It would be abnormal if she wasn’t terrified.
Throughout the manga, Jiro has never been treated as one of the “strong ones.” She’s got tons of attitude, but she’s not angry or confrontational. Personality-wise, she seems best-suited for reconnaissance not battle. E.g., she’s the only character in the last arc that asked after All Might. (In the School Festival arc, it’s Bakugo who prompts her to stop giving a shit about what other people think.) But her quirk works well against AFO because she can really mess up his infrared/radio wave sensing, so Jiro HAS to step into the battle role. She finds a truly critical mission put on her plate before she’s ready, much like Kaminari in the war. And, like Kaminari, she rose to the occasion — that panel of her screaming at AFO sure did look like her triumphant solo moment in the school festival.

Other than her quirk, battling AFO is a HUGE leap for Jiro. Remember, she was taken out by Mirio in 1 second, and she felt weak compared to Bakugo on the bus to USJ……..
She got super nervous before the provisional licensing exam. Her big arc centered around her singing and bringing people together (which she was initially too shy to do), not on her quirk or heroic skills. But together with Tokoyami and Hawks, she’s able to fly and land a critical hit on AFO.

As for the Twitter feud over “feminism”, I just don’t see anything wrong with how Jiro is portrayed. In this chapter, Jiro is being treated with respect by everyone around her and the narrative is giving her a chance to be a critical battle hero. Now, if ONLY the female characters get hurt in this final arc, or HK overly focuses on female characters getting mauled, then perhaps there’s something to dig into. But Jiro losing one of her earphone jacks and then overcoming her fears and pain to land a badass combo hit on AFO? I am fine with this.
I feel like I should talk about Endeavor and Hawks, but meh. What stands out to me is how Enji pictures his sons in his head. He sees Shoto as a surly, angry kid glaring up at him. Meanwhile, Toya is manic with wide eyes and an enormous grin, looking down on Enji from above. This is how his sons look at him. This is what he sees. And yeah, it’s what he deserves.

Moving to AFO, you can laugh at AFO’s “fowl” pun all you want — it hides that his battle strategy is wrong, wrong, WRONG. He assumed the heroes would stall him until Endeavor was back in the fight. He assumed the heroes would leave the heavy hits for the Number One. But when Endeavor got hurt, it was a combo of the #2 and two students (one who placed at the Sports Festival, but the other largely unknown) that cracked his helmet. Hell, even AFO’s pun references a DUO, but there’s THREE heroes who are involved. And AFO also assumes the “children” just so happened to be paired with the “big shots,” as if Tokoyami and Jiro werent chosen strategically. As if Hawks’s wings can’t pick up on sound vibrations. That’s how little attention AFO pays to the “extras.”

Look at the laundry list of what AFO says — motives, words, deeds, abilities, (quirk) power. What did he leave out? Willpower. Hatred. Feelings. Emotion. That’s why Jiro’s rallying cry has to be “you made my friends cry,” and that’s why a closeup of her anguished face is right next to Hawks moving into the stream of her Legato move for the final slash. (It would make more sense, generally, for her to draw inspiration from Momo, Kaminari, or even Bakugo rather than Izuku and Aoyama, but in the context of a true hero selflessly “raging for the sake of others” I do see why it has to be those two.)

The vestige part is interesting. AFO has a big smile as he says, “Their very wills…they were spurred on by this?” AFO sure wasn’t smiling when New Order revolted. He was grimacing, cursing, and screaming. I don’t know what he just realized, but I’m guessing it’s not good for the heroes if he’s grinning. There HAS to be more to AFO right now than just “he knows he’s won even if this body dies”. Like we all knew that at the outset of this fight — AFO original recipe is still very dangerous, so the heroes have to separate him from Tomura and kill him, but that diverts resources from Tomura, so AFO’s got the heroes outwitted no matter what happens to this body. But also, AFO doesn’t take chances unless he HAS to, so he won’t let his original body die just to fully “vest” in Tomura. He’s gonna hang on as long as he can and take down as many heroes as possible, right??? And surely he’s got some sneaky game-clearing moves nobody’s ever seen, yeah???

Adrien Agreste's Origin - rewritten.
He never went to school because his mother was both an actress and a classical singer, and would always have him come with her to the places she would sing so they would spend time together and he'd have help to learn. Gabriel couldn't join, but was always eager to hear about their adventures and often was the one to help adrien in his schooling. Emelie fell ill when Adrien was 8, and he continued being homeschooled by her minus the fun games and travels since she was always tired. Soon enough Nathalie took over his mom's place in teaching him. Emelie grew weaker each day due to her illness.
When he was 10 Gabriel sent him to an intern school where he could come home only 2 times a year for a period of 3 weeks, and was advised not to share the negative stuff with his mom so she wouldn't be too stressed.
Adrien grew easy on lying and avoiding difficult topics around people, and figured they responded better to non threatening smiles rather than whines. His father seemed pleased, so he continued. One day, though, Emelie pushed a little harder and found out about Adrien's feelings, and promised to help him through it.
She died a few days latter. Adrien was 14. One year latter his father allowed him to go to public school, only because Nathalie told him Adrien hadn't been responsive at all and that she feared for his health. There had already been news about people turning into monsters out of nowhere so Adrien was to be acompanied by the Gorilla in and out. In his first day on school someone in the staff turned into a monster in what one of the children called an "akumatization", and he took the lead to help his colleagues guet shelter. The monster almost caught them, but one of his classmates acted as a bait - Marinette, he learned - and lured the monster out of the school and towards the police. After he made sure everyone was safe Adrien went back to help her, finding she was using a chair to deffend herself. He used his fencing skills to help her and they held the monster until the police arrived to help, the fight ending with him sheltering her from an iminent attack.
She introduced herself with red face and a hard stutter, not even resembling the girl that fought the monster in the first place. She then fainted and he had to lead her to the nurseroom. In the ride back home he found the smallest stray cat and decided to help it.
Gabriel was ready for an argument because he was apalled by what almost happened to his son, but after taking a quick look at Adrien he gave up, not having seen the boy's eyes beam so much even a bit before Emilie died. He didn't even say anything about the cat.
Latter that night said cat started talking and Adrien was sure he was getting crazy. Turns out no, that was the mystical god of chaos, Plagg, and Adrien had been chosen to be his miraculous holder. A cool moment until Plagg vomited a jewel and told the boy to use it so they could seal a familial contract.
And that is the origin of Paris' greatest jokester and one of its best heroes, Chat Noir.
