This plane ride back to Korea was longer than the three month long tour. Maybe it’s because during the tour you were too distracted by seeing all your fans, the new places and being splashed with water by your other members to really think about being in a different country from your boyfriend and friends.

It felt like it had been three days since you boarded, but looking at the time on your phone showed it had only been an hour and a half. You still had around eleven more to go until you reached Seoul’s airport and most likely another hour until you could get out of there if you were lucky.

Looking at the time again, you sigh when you see that only a minute has passed. Your leader, who sat next to you, placed their hand on your shoulder gently and rubbed their hand against it, comforting you.

“I know you want to go see him. You will once we land. The company always gives a few weeks break after a tour.” They whispers softly. “You can go to sleep and dream of giving Riki your gifts from every city we visited. I’ll wake you up an hour before we land.”

Sleep sounded good. Especially as an idol who often didn’t get enough sleep. But yet, your mind just couldn’t stop thinking. You thought of every concert, the outfits the fans war that sometimes rivaled yours when you were on stage, your members who were littered throughout the plane. You thought of Riki the most though. How sweet he was, how his humor always landed with everyone he met, how he was so much taller than you and treated you so gently, like a porcelain doll.

You started to drift off at the thought of him. Eventually your eyes shut and you fell asleep. Dreaming of Riki.

You woke to your leader tapping your shoulder. “Hey, we’ve landed. I tried to wake you at the hour mark but you didn’t want to.” They explain gently. Stretching as best as you can in those small spaces, you look around as everyone started to stand up and grab their packages. “Manager says that there’s a surprise out there.” They say standing from their seat to count where the rest of your members are currently.

“A surprise?” You ask. “Manager never surprises us.” Your leader nods in agreement. Waiting for everyone to clear out, you move in the aisle. Your leader following and grabbing both of your guys luggage’s. When the rest of your group eventually groups back up, you exit the plane while expressing your thanks to the flight attendants.

“Ok I was told we have wait here for manager.” The leader stops the group. You lean on your luggage, still tired and oblivious to the grins that your members are giving you.

Jolting up when you feel hands on your waist, you turn around thinking it was one of your members seeking revenge for you pouring a water bottle over them. Instead you turn and meet Riki.

“Hey jagi.” He says smiling while you stand there dumbfounded. “Wow I’m so hurt. Not even a hug.” He fake pouts. You snap out of your trance before lunging on him, wrapping your arms around his neck and legs around his waist. “Missed me that much didn’t you?” He teases as he gently kisses your temple. Hiding your face in his neck, you nod your head as best as you can. “Well don’t worry. Your manager said that I can sleep over tonight as long as the door is open.” He says against your skin before kissing it again.

“Got gifts for you in every city.” You mumble against his neck. “Wow stealing my ideas now huh? First it was my heart, then my ideas. What’s next, my last name?” He teases you again. You just shake your head in disbelief at his words. “Don’t worry Jagi. I’ll make sure to get your managers blessings before.”

a/n: i felt like writing something lighter tonight so here we go with kinda reversed comfort fic!! i'm working on the next hee drabble as i'm posting this one, so if everything goes well i'll finish the 1k event this week!!

A frown makes it way on your face as you check the clock and realize it's been fifteen minutes since your boyfriend's finished his shower. He's been in a foul mood ever since he's come back home, visibly exhausted and irked by every smallest thing on his way. He spat some harsh words at you too, but the instant regret flashing in his eyes each time let you know that he didn't mean them at all.

So you did your best to give him the much needed space, knowing that nothing helps him clear his head more than some time alone, but after such a long time of absolute silence coming from across the hall, you can't help but feel slightly worried.

You call out to him softly and when you get nothing in response, you make your way into the bathroom where Riki is. You tilt the door open and take a peak inside the steamy room, only to feel your heart dropping at the sight of your boyfriend slouching in front of the mirror, hands braced on each side of the sink as his head is hanging lowly, eyelids squeezed shut.

Your eyes soften immediately at the miserable sight and without a shadow of hesitation, you walk towards him.

"You okay, babe?" You put on your most comforting tone as you wrap your arms around his torso from behind. "You've been beating yourself up for a while now, hm? Tell me what's on your mind, handsome?"

"It's just–," he cuts himself off with a frustrated sigh, running his hand through his face. "I know I can be a lot sometimes. And I'm sorry that you have to deal with all of that so often. You must be tired of this shit by now."

You frown slightly, pulling your head away slightly to press a kiss to his shoulder blade.

"Hey, don't say stuff like that. It's okay, everyone lets their emotions unleash from time to time, it's normal. Would be hard for one to stay perfect all the time," you hum quietly, squeezing his waist a little tighter. "But there's nothing I'd change about you anyway. I love every single part of you. Especially the parts that you love about yourself the least."

Riki breathes out a heavy sigh and finally lets himself relax into you a little bit as the guard that he's kept so high up absolutely crumbles. You can see how exhausted he looks now, the usual playful glimmer abandoned his now nearly dull eyes couple days ago. You slip your hands underneath his shirt and run your warm hands over his abdomen in hopes of bringing him some source of comfort.

"I could never get tired of you," you let out a quiet whisper after another moment of silence, and rest your cheek on his back. "Just because you're not smiling and laughing all day long doesn't mean you're suddenly undeserving of my love, Riki. I love you just as much as I did last week – if not even more."

At that, your boyfriend finally pushes himself off the counter and turns around to draw you in closely into his arms. Leaning down, he buries his face in your hair and holds you tightly as his head buzzes with all the love he carries for you.

"Thank you," he murmurs, hand caressing your hair gently, "for always being here. You're my little angel, you know that, don't you?"

You hum quietly and raise to your toes to plant a soft kiss on his lips. "And I'll always stay here. And you will start trying to let me in a little more, okay? It's you and me against the problem – not you against me. Promise me?"

Riki looks at your outstretched pinky finger for couple seconds before intertwining it with his and lifting it up to his lips to seal the pledge with a kiss.

"I promise."

you’ve been sitting with him for around two hours, letting him have his fun while you keep yourself busy with your phone

however, you were beginning to crave some of his attention for yourself :c

you shove your phone into your pocket, poking your boyfriends cheek needily

he looks down at you, “what’s up baby?”

you don’t say anything, deciding to just show him instead

you push your lips onto his plush ones, kissing him gently

he hums happily, eyes closing as he takes his hand from the keyboard to hold the back of your head and deepen the kiss

you nod shyly, pulling him in once more

behind you, you can hear the sound of gunshots and, what you assume to be heeseung’s character dying.

suddenly, two loud voices interrupt the both of you, forcing you to separate

“yo this guys throwing!”

heeseung groans at their annoying voices, “can you two asshats shut up? i’m with y/n”

you just sit there trying to hold in your proud giggle

“bro we should’ve known,” niki replies, the disappointment evident in his tone

jake sighs with him, “cmon hyung, bros before ho-”

heeseung ends the call

as soon as he does, you both burst out into an amused laugh before going right back to where you ended off~

it was jay’s turn with clean up, allowing everyone else to leave right for their rooms

after taking a quick bathroom break, you walk into the kitchen to see your boyfriend washing the dishes

he’s humming a quiet tune, scrubbing each plate with a sponge thoroughly

you walk up behind him quietly, giving him a back hug

he flinches in surprise, ready to push whoever it was off

but when he notices it’s you, he relaxes and turns back to the dishes, his lips raising at the ends slightly. “what are you doing?”

you reach over and turn off the water, making jay look back at you, head tilted

as you kiss him, he grabs your waist despite his wet hands, forcing you closer.

you only grin, watching as jungwon shakes his head sighing before grabbing a cup of water

“if you make any mess or wake us up-”

“hurry up will you?” jay interrupts, practically pushing the poor leader back to his room

justice for jungwon king just wanted some water

the members were scattered around the dorms

you weren’t sure about the rest of the idiots, but with jake pressed up against you, you did not care

“i missed you,” he whispers into your ear

it is a shame he’s been so busy, but his work was priority

you smile, pulling him in for another kiss

as you do though, a dolphin like scream scares you apart again

jake raises his head, getting up off you calmly

“oh hey, wanna watch this movie with us?” he grins at the younger boy

you facepalm, watching sunoo stare at your boyfriend in utter confusion and disbelief

you barely hold in your laugh, scooting over so sunoo can awkwardly sit next to you

jake seems to be in on it, smiling and sending a wink your way when you meet his eyes

poor sunoo has to deal with third wheeling for the remainder of the film, eyes set on staring only at the tv, not daring to meet either of your eyes

he regrets agreeing to the whole fiesta in the first place

moral of the story: jake is evil

and you are most definitely his eviller sidekick

he nods, still smiling

why is he like this T-T

“why me? go ask the people who literally came here to workout with you”

“but i want to see you try!” sunghoon pushes, offering his free hand out to you

you roll your eyes, taking it reluctantly

there was no point in trying to fight back, in the end he’d somehow convince you

he brings you over to the shelf of different weights, picking up one of the smaller sized ones

“okay, try to lift this up and down a few times” he offers it to you, watching excitedly

this man is lucky you love him, as on any other day you’d never be caught doing weightlifting of all things

you take it from his hand, doing as he said without much difficulty, easily moving it up and down

“not bad babe!”

asshole

you scoff in offense, reading the label, “1kg? how weak do you think i am!?”

he grins once more, walking over and grabbing a much bigger dumbbell with ease

“yeah? try this one then, big shot,” he teases, taking the other one from you

you huff in surprise as soon as you grab hold of the weight, your arms beginning to shake slightly

sunghoon laughs uncontrollably, watching you suffer happily

you drop the dumbbell to the floor, walking over to him with a pout and punching his chest, “yah! you’re so cruel, you owe me an apology now”

he leans down with a smirk still on his face, kissing you playfully

“was that enough?”

“hey lovebirds, we’re here to work out not make out!” jay calls out

niki shakes his head, “this is why y/n shouldn’t come, they’re too distracting”

your jaw drops, “i didn’t sign up for this! i’m not saying names, but a certain someone who starts with an ‘s’ and ends with a ‘n’ forced me here!!”

sunghoon only continues laughing, “you guys are just jealous”

the two boys don’t reply to that

you and sunoo were currently making cupcakes for him and the members to share

they were going to be having them on vlive tomorrow in celebration of future perfect’s third win (hell yeah!!)

you both weren’t exactly five star chefs, but sunoo definitely knew more than you

he did most of the hard part like stirring and measuring, while you got to do the fun stuff like pouring in the ingredients

he didn’t mind at all

in fact he loves babying you <3

but now it was time for the most anticipated part of the y/n and sunoo cupcake project

icing!!!

you had bought orange icing in honor of the iconic theme of the manifesto albums

and it was now time to put it to good use

“are you sure you can do it? i feel like you’re going to somehow mess this up” sunoo giggles, watching you struggle to get the icing out of the pipe bag

“at least have some faith in me, this thing just isn’t working!”

until suddenly, a ridiculous amount of icing shoots out of the bag, all over the cupcakes..

you stand there, jaw dropped while your boyfriend bursts into laughter manically in the background

“i knew something was going to happen! don’t move, i have to take a picture!” he exclaims, looking around the kitchen for his phone

you whip your head to him distressed, icing bag still in hand, “absolutely not, i don’t need engenes making fun of me!”

before he can pick up his phone, you shoot a bit of orange icing at him, laughing as it gets right across his pretty face

“yah, what’s wrong with you!? clean this up now jagi!” walking over to you, he points to the icing that's slowly sticking to his cheek in expectation

you grin mischievously, lifting your head slightly to lick the icing off his face

sunoo flinches at you in disgust, lifting a hand to wipe your spit and the remaining icing off his face

“the fuck happened in here?” you both look up to see jay watching the both of you in utter disappointment

you quickly point to each other, “it was them!”

“nuh uh, it was sunoo!”

jay only sighs at your childishness, “want me to help you dumbasses?”

your boyfriend shakes his head, “this is me and y/n’s project,” he leans down to give you a quick peck, “we can do it right?”

you glance back at the cupcakes which now have orange icing splattered all over them

“well.. uh-“

“look who’s not having faith now!”

it was quite rare for jungwon to be so straightforward, he was more the type to just show what he wanted rather than admit it out loud, so you make sure to really enjoy the moment ;)

“that does sound exhausting geez,” you emphasize, rubbing his head softly, “n’ you know i missed you too, pretty boy”

he grins, reaching for your waist and pulling you into his chest further

it was nice being able to switch up who was little or big spoon, neither of you really cared as long as you touching the other

just as he moves in to give you a kiss, the door to jungwon’s room suddenly swings open, ruining the peaceful atmosphere instantly

“yah, do you have a toothbrush? sunoo definitely stole mine, i was— oh hi y/n!”

you both don't bother getting up, but jungwon settles for death staring at jake, who is standing awkwardly in the middle of the room

meanwhile you just offer a small, lazy wave in his direction

“hyung, get out,” jungwon demands, rubbing his forehead with his palm

poor boy just wanted to spend time with his s/o

“aw, is our leader getting soft?” you try to maintain a straight face, watching jungwon get more annoyed next to you, “you should’ve seen your dopey smile when i walked in wonnie, you’re soooo in lo—“

“hyung, i said get out!” jungwon barks, throwing a pillow at the elder who ducks in defense, laughing

“okay okay, i’m going!” jake runs out, closing the door behind him swiftly

you giggle quietly, making your boyfriend snap his head toward you

the betrayal…

“that was not funny at all!” he says, yet he can’t help but smile himself at the sound of your laugh throughout the room

it’s safe to say you both weren’t off the hook, jake making sure to tell the rest of enha the events of the night

niki would not be embarrassed if another member interrupted you,,

but he’d undeniably get flustered and his ears would turn bright red if they teased too much T-T

so while your boyfriend is an idol and gets to do his fancy idol things

you most definitely aren’t

this means you have to go to high school like every other teen nikis age

it’d been a long day, you groan as you exit the school grounds with your ridiculously heavy backpack over one shoulder

you were ready to get home and flop down on your bed and watch all of niki’s new performances or other appearances on youtube

until a familiar black van pulls up near you

you hesitate slightly, a giant van slowly pulling up near a school did look a bit suspicious

however, your reluctant expression turns into one of pure shock when your boyfriend hops out of the back seat

“babe?” you call in surprise

he runs over without a word, smiling brightly before pulling you into a tight hug

you quickly hug him back, overwhelmed, “what are you doing here!? shouldn’t you be practising or something?”

niki giggles at your shocked expression, adjusting the bucket hat hiding his face, “we got some free time so i decided to come pick you up today”

he looks behind you at the giant building, “wah, i’ve always wanted to see your school”

luckily there were no other students nearby, or else the sidewalk would probably turn into a zoo of fans and paparazzi

you smile gratefully, watching as he takes your backpack for you and pulls it over his own shoulder

he’s always watching out for you !!

“it’s not very exciting is it? not compared to what you do everyday”

he’s still smiling, and can’t help but to lean down and kiss you quickly

mans just missed you so much and for some reason seeing you in your uniform all.. normal looking (he means this in the best way possible) makes him all giddy inside

just as you begin kissing him back, reaching a hand up to massage the back of his neck, the drivers window is rolled down

“heeseung hyung, the kids are kissing again!” jake complains

“yah, stop that before someone sees and get in here!” jungwon scolds, pulling open the back seat once again

niki can’t help but blush slightly, he tried not to be touchy in front of the members

but you both end up snickering, taking each others hands and hopping in the back next to jungwon

noticing your intertwined fingers through the front mirror, jake shakes his head with a chuckle

“how did niki out of all the members get in a relationship?”

heeseung sighs, “y/n, don’t forget this kid microwaves his strawberries and puts salt on watermelon”

you ponder for a minute, “if niki likes it, i should definitely try it”

maybe you were a simp for the boy

but could you blame yourself?

they all groan in sync, while niki only grins smugly

after a failed (?) confession to your friend riki, you get stuck in an elevator with him.

note it’s so hard to write comprehensive stories but i hope you guys can see the vision… i love the forced proximity trope sm 🙏 anyways, thank you for reading! 🥰

“oh my god, y/n, are you actually going to confess to him?!” your best friend, haerin, shouted, as you walked through the hallways to your second period class, ignoring the curious looks the other students gave you two. “shhh!!! do you want everyone to know? and yes, i’m serious.” you ended with a small smile on your face, watching your best friend excitedly squeal.

“finally! i’m so tired of watching you guys flirt, it’s so obvious he’s head over heels for you.” haerin concludes. you give her a playful shove as you both settle into your desks.

today was the day you decided to confess to your longtime crush, neighbour, and (other) best friend, nishimura riki. you met in middle school when he moved into the same floor as you. you always had small talk with him, and you can’t deny that you always found him cute.

when high school began, you both started walking to and from school together, talking about the most mundane things and growing close. you and riki were known for causing trouble in class.

your feelings for him grew more and more over the years. you both were in your final year of high school, and you decided it was now or never. plus, you were 99% sure he liked you back; the way he would blush and get so flustered around you made it obvious. or at least, that’s what haerin said.

you went old fashioned and wrote him a letter, mainly because if you did it in person you would likely become a stuttering mess and run away before you could finish. you were brave, just not that brave.

you walk with haerin to riki's locker right before lunch starts, and with a deep breath slid your letter in. haerin clapped and cheered as you pulled her hand and basically ran from the spot.

you and haerin sit outside on the school field, eating your lunches. you expected riki to come find you and talk to you about your letter at lunch, but he's nowhere to be found. haerin tries to reassure you by saying maybe he didn't see it yet.

as you both walk back around the field, you see him. his tall figure is running around the basketball court with his friends. and his bag is with him.

your heart drops. haerin looks at you, confused as to why you look so upset.

"haerin... riki always leaves his bag in his locker after first period and gets it right before break. that means that he got his bag from his locker, right?"

"if he got his bag from his locker, he must've seen your letter..." haerin realised.

and suddenly, your mind is racing with images of him laughing while reading your confession, laughing at you, and you wonder, how could you be so stupid to think he liked you back? haerin quickly put her arm around you and tried to reassure you. "y/n, you have no way to be sure that he read your letter so don't be sad. why don't you go and confront him? maybe this is all just a misunderstanding."

the rational part of you knew that talking to him was the best thing to do, but you were too scared. you used most of your courage to confess to him. you just wanted to go home and lie in your bed, away from everything. you were embarassed.

you felt yourself tearing up as you ran back inside the school, haerin right behind you. what you didn't see was riki looking at you from the basketball court. his friends followed his eyes. "isn't that y/n? why is she running?" jungwon asked. "yeah, it is. she's been ignoring me all day..." riki replied sadly.

you pulled yourself together in the bathroom, not wanting to cause a scene. finally, the end of the day came. riki would usually meet you at your locker to walk home with you, so you ask haerin if she could quickly get your stuff from your locker and bring it to you.

she managed to avoid him and brought your stuff to you quickly. "thank you haerin. i appreciate your help." you say, giving her a quick hug. you tell her that you'll wait in the library for a bit so you don't see riki. haerin is reluctant to leave you alone, but you reassure her that you'll be fine, so she left to catch her bus, waving at you with a sad smile on her face.

as you scroll meaninglessly on your phone, someone taps you on the shoulder. you look up to see sunoo, one of riki's friends. you feel your heart race.

"y/n! what are you doing here? riki's been looking for you since school ended, he's waiting to walk home with you." sunoo says, looking at you with a confused expression.

"ah sunoo, actually, i'm supposed to retake a test after school today. i was just doing some last minute revision! it might take me some time, so can you tell him to go on without me?" you say, forcing a smile.

sunoo agrees, and leaves you alone again. after a while, you leave the library and start walking home on your own, taking a different route.

by the time you finally reach your apartment and get into the elevator, you're just about ready to pass our on your bed. the walk home seemed like hours without riki's funny commentary, or his random stories about his day. you sigh and quickly press your floor number.

right before the elevator door could close, someone sticks their foot through to stop it. the door opens, and you watch as riki walks through the doors. your breath stops, and you suddenly feel as if you're drowning. your ears burn and you look down at the floor.

riki, on the other hand, is ecstatic to see you. "oh my god. y/n, where have you been all day? you never told me about retaking any test. are you avoiding me?" he asks, waving his hands around.

you don't answer him, anger and confusion boiling up inside you. why is he pretending not to know?

"you can't be serious right? i can't believe you." you scoffed. "i knew you were dense, but not this dense, riki."

now it's his turn to be confused. "so you have been ignoring me? what did i do? i've been looking for you basically all day." he said, the emotion in his voice growing.

"that's all you have to say? it's okay, riki. just because you don't feel the same way as me doesn't been you don't have to pretend it didn't happen. you can just tell me." your voice was cold and flat.

"what do you mean 'feel the same', y/n? am i missing something?" riki says softly, trying to calm you down.

"just leave it. i don't want to talk to you." is all you can say to him before your words catch in your throat. and suddenly the elevator feels suffocating and all you can think is “why haven't we got to our floor yet?” and your vision is tearing up and you try to ignore the way riki is looking at you with the most heartbroken eyes because if he really cared about you, then maybe this situation could be different.

without warning, there's a thud. both you and riki jump, startled. you notice that the elevator stopped moving.

no way. you and riki are stuck. you feel like bursting into tears.

a quick "what the fuck?" slips out of riki's mouth, while you curse your own luck. out of all the times this could happen, it had to happen now?

though it's silent as you both assess the situation, it feels deafening at the same time. you can't hide the feeling of panic growing inside you.

"are we really... stuck right now?" riki says, looking at you nervously.

you look at him out of the corner of your eye. "well obviously we are. this day can't get any worse, can it?" you reply with a sigh, covering your eyes with your hands as you sink onto the floor.

you watch as riki also settles down on the floor of the elevator, opposite from you. the management makes an announcement over the speakers, saying that technicians have been called and the elevator will be fixed soon, and that you both just have to wait it out.

you wonder if you should speak up, address the tension between you two. but you're just too scared. you tap on the floor apprehensively, thinking "why isn't he saying anything?"

as you steal a glance at riki, you realize why. his face is pale, his hands trembling, his eyes shut tight. his breaths are long and slow, as you notice sweat forming at his hairline.

and you finally remember that your best friend hates being in tight spaces.

in an instant, you scooch closer to him, unzipping your bag and taking your water bottle out. "what kind of friend am i? how could i forget?" you scold yourself. you hand him the water bottle, and you swore you could feel your heart shatter in your chest when he looked up at you with the most innocent look in his warm brown eyes.

you sit and hold his hands while he drinks, wiping his face and calming him down. no matter what happened between you two, riki would always be your friend before anything.

"thank you, y/n. i'm sorry about... everything that happened. but please, i genuinely don't know what you mean about... your feelings. did something happen?"

you look away from him and sigh, accepting the situation. "riki, i know you don't like me back and it's okay. i was just upset that you were acting as if you didn't read my letter." you look at him. "you know you could've just told me right? it would've hurt less."

a short pause followed your words.

"y/n you... like me?" riki whispers, his expression unreadable. you roll your eyes playfully and say "yes, idiot. that's what all of this was about."

out of nowhere, riki sits up. "y/n, what letter are you talking about?" he asks urgently.

"the letter that i left in your locker? my confession?" you answer, clueless as to why he's asking this way.

in an instant, riki looks away, his head in his hands. and slowly, you watch the smile on his face grow, his laughs slowly becoming louder, as you watch bewildered.

"y/n..." he spoke between giggles. "my lock broke this morning. i couldn't get into it all day. the janitor was supposed to open it after school, but i ended up leaving to look for you. i didn't read your letter..."

your jaw fell as you gasped. and the reality of the situation began to unfold in front of you. shocked, you realised that you had been upset and mean to him for no reason.

and you also realised that you had just confessed to him.

"riki... i'm so sorry. i didn't know..." you said, covering your face.

riki took your hands gently, and smiled at you. you looked at him as he began to speak.

"it's okay y/n. you should've just told me. i don't bite, y'know?" you watch as a blush begins to form on his face, and now you're very aware of how close your faces are, and the fact that niki is holding your hands.

"now that i know... y/n. i like you too. i always have, since the day you showed up at my door in middle school and introduced yourself. you've always been there for me since we started high school, and walking with you is my favourite part of everyday. i'm so happy right now..." he spoke softly, never once breaking eye contact.

"and i really hope that's what your letter was about because if not... this is kind of awkward." he finished, laughing.

you couldn't help yourself from tearing up as you broke out in a smile. covering your face, you smacked him. "i can't believe you're laughing at my pain! and yes, silly. that is what my letter was about."

you move forward to hug him, asking him "is this okay?" when he nods, you wrap your arms around him, smiling into his shoulder while you stroke his hair.

"i promise i'll read your full confession when i get it." he says, holding you tight. and you both settle comfortably in each other's embrace, almost forgetting that you both were stuck.

you were just so happy to be with him again.

and soon enough, the elevator began moving and you both were rescued. as soon as you stepped outside of the elevator, you stretched your arms and legs, looking over at the pretty boy beside you, the smile never once leaving your face.

you and riki walked down the hallway holding hands. stopping at your apartment door, you turn to face him, looking up at him.

the fondness in his eyes is undeniable. "y/n, you're so beautiful. i meant it all the times i said it." you noticed the way his hair fell in his eyes, and how he scratched the back of his neck awkwardly.

"can i.. kiss you?" he mumbles.

you nod quickly, closing your eyes. and there, in front of your apartment door, you share a sweet kiss with your longtime crush, neighbour, and (other) best friend, nishimura riki. you both smile into the kiss.

after a few seconds, you pull away, giggling. he pulls you into his arms again, as you allow yourself to drown in the scent of his cologne.

"i can't believe we had to get stuck in an elevator to get to this point." he said, shaking his head. you laugh and pull away, just to give him another kiss. "thank you, riki." you whispered.

he looked at you and nodded, understanding right away. "anything for you, y/n."

I waited for all of them to leave… Haechan said they haven’t though. They were waiting for me to come out but I didn’t want to.

It wasn’t until I heard yelling that I peeked out the door.

It was Jungwon and Sunoo berating Jake, Jay, and Sooha.

“Found you!” I heard and I turned around to see Niki. He scared me causing me to jump a little and he smiled a bit waiting for me to come to him.

“What’s wrong, little witch?” He asked and I sighed. “Jay is gonna reject me… and I got scared of Jake touching me…” I confessed and he rubbed my back comforting me.

“Close your eyes,” he said and I closed my eyes until I felt him pull away. He told me to open my eyes when I noticed we were now in my room.

“Those idiots are currently probably looking for you,” he said and I chuckled. “Was this not your plan?” I asked and he smiled.

“Mine but I didn’t include them in it” he shrugged and I laughed

“Thank you guys for coming for me,” I said and he nodded. “You should get something to eat,” he said and I nodded.

He left to get some food from the cafeteria when I was waiting in my common area.

I soon heard a knock and opened it thinking it was Niki when it wasn’t…

“Hello,” he said and I sighed. I hated him… I trusted him for a little to let myself be vulnerable but he was only keeping my soulmates away from me…

“Why are you here?” I asked and he sighed. “To apologize on Jake's behalf,” he said and I nodded trying to close the door when he didn’t allow it.

“And also for Sooha… She's being a little out of line but I’ll make sure to talk to them. I’m sorry y/n”

I felt for once that he was being sincere.

jay’s perspective

What did I want?

I liked my time with her… she was sweet and kind. Maybe my suspicion was right... I didn’t like Sooha like that anymore. Not more than a friend.

“Why was she so scared of me?” He muttered as Sooha comforted him. He looked like he finally realized just how much he hurt her.

“You hurt her… a soulmate's pain is amplified when their soulmate inflicted it,” I said and he almost looked broken.

“She looked at me like I was a monster,” he said and I knew he was upset about that. He was called a monster before… but for his soulmate to think that was another story.

“She’ll get over it,” Sooha said but I doubted it. “What are you gonna do ?” I heard as I saw Sunghoon… was he here to yell at us like Jungwon and Sunoo did?

“I don’t know,” I said and he sighed. “She doesn’t hate you… not like she does Heeseung nor is she scared of you like she is that bastard. She enjoyed your time together but she’s now waiting for what you’ll do” he said and I sighed.

“I don’t know what I wanna do. I respected her wish for not wanting me to touch her but I was worried when she crouched down scared of Jake” I confessed and he sighed.

“Why was she so scared of me?” Jake asked Sunghoon and he scoffed.

“You hurt her once. Burned her and don’t you notice how she’ll wear scarfs or turtlenecks to cover her neck? She’s still healing Jake and honestly, I’d rather you stay far away from her” he said and Jake couldn’t say a word.

“Sunghoon—“ “Sooha you need to apologize also… you called her a hypocrite when you’ve been one the whole time,” he said and she was confused.

“No I haven’t… It’s unfair that K rejected me for her—“

“Jake rejected her for you, Heesung rejected her for you… how is that fair on her?” He asked and I realized just how much everyone stopped giving her what she wanted.

She wasn’t a bad person but a little oblivious.

“Is she okay?” I asked and he nodded.

“Sunoo right now is pampering her,” he said and I had the urge to follow him and make sure she was okay.

Maybe cook for her like I have… but I couldn’t cause I knew I still cared for Sooha.

y/n's perspective

I had to move on from yesterday.

I told the boys about my deal with Jay and they agreed to eat lunch I didn’t need to go to the home ec class anymore…

Going to the library again felt weird when I was used to going to the home ec class and eating something sweet.

I was studying in the library when I felt a familiar presence close by.

It was Jake and Jay… I stood up quickly and ran away. I wanted to hide so I was pretending to look for a book.

Wait, why were they at the witch library? They weren’t allowed here?

I decided to peek and maybe do a general spell to hear what they were saying.

“Even if you’re looking for the witch council president you can’t come in because of the other students. I have to ask you two to leave” the librarian said.

I really need to change that rule.

“We really need to talk to her, it’s a council emergency,” Jay said. Why were they trying so hard?

“I’m sorry but there are no exceptions and besides, I don’t see her at any of the tables,” she said and they seemed to give up.

“I can feel your spell, Miss President” I heard Jake whisper. I turned around and finished the spell.

I don’t know why they were looking for me?

I couldn’t even study the rest of the time. Instead, I just packed my things and decided to walk out when I saw Jay and Jake right across the door waiting…

“We need to talk,” Jay said and I looked at the time and shook my head.

“I have council work—“ “Have Wonyoung do—“

“No,” I said and walked away only for them to follow me.

I made it to the council room and got there when they weren’t allowed in.

“Really? You have a vampire veil?!” Jake yelled and I was startled at the sound of his voice but was also just as confused.

“No vampires allowed in the council unless there’s a meeting” I heard Wonyoung say.

“What if we were here for stuco work?” Jake asked and she scoffed.

“She knows you aren’t” I heard and I saw Heeseung…

He came by last night to make sure I was okay… I hate how on opposite ends he acts.

He acted like he cared but still rejected me? Even dared to keep me away from Sunoo and Jungwon.

“Why are the two of you here bothering her?” He asked and the two scoffed.

“I needed to talk to you about the announcement but Wonyoung will fill you in,” Heeseung told me and I nodded.

“Come on you two if you have nothing to do might as well do work”

jay perspective

“What the hell Heeseung! I need to talk—“ “Stay away from her. Reject her move on, don’t lead her on,” he said sternly.

I didn’t know what to do though.

“If you don’t have any 100% certainty that you want her then just stay away from her. And you stop adding stress to her, she’s scared of you already, what else do you want?” He now said sternly to Jake.

“I just wanted to know why she was so scared—“ “You physically hurt her that’s why! You burned her skin raw” he scolded and for once I saw Jake ashamed of this incident.

“You rejected her. Why do you suddenly—""Just cause I rejected her doesn’t mean I don’t care about her,” he said and I didn’t get him.

“Sooha has a soulmate though…” Jake said and it caused him to scoff. “So she’s your second choice now? You already rejected her because you’re so in love with Sooha. She’s happy with those four so leave them be” he said and it was confusing.

It almost seemed like he wanted to accept her as his soulmate…

Jake was quiet the entire time so by the time it was the end of the day.

He seemed to now think about what he did. He keeps staring at his hands now guilty.

I couldn’t sleep knowing I had to make an option now… it wasn’t until I felt a sudden snap. Almost like my heart has broken in two?

“Jay?!” I heard Jake’s voice try to get to me but the pain hurt. All I could think about was y/n…

“Heeseung, I don’t know what happened but suddenly Jay—“ “I had y/n reject the soulmate bond between you two,” he said and I didn’t notice when he came in but I felt betrayed.

“You weren’t gonna accept her and you know it. Your thoughts wondered what could happen with her and your true feelings with Sooha” he said and I knew he was right but I couldn’t bear this pain…. Did she handle this twice? And Sunghoon, Jungwon, and Sunoo did too…

Jungwon twice?

“Stop it” I heard his scold but he was looking at Jake. “Stop thinking about her. Everything that has happened is done!” He yelled clearly frustrated.

“Heeseung… Do you love her?” Jake asked and Heeseung didn’t have an answer. “I love Sooha,” he said but I didn’t have to be a mind reader to know that was a lie.

“Jungwon is good for her… he’s the most responsible one out of all of us. It's why he was elected president despite us being older than him. Sunoo is a romantic. He can give her love and show it. Niki is innocent and loves the thought of soulmates. He’s a confidant she can rely on. Even Sunghoon, who I didn’t expect, is good when all she wants is silent comfort!” He yelled. I felt how pained he was…. He was in love with our soulmate yet he rejected her first?

“You just wanted to use her because you knew Sooha would never love you!” He yelled at me… “You just didn’t want to be alone and that’s why you’re constantly conflicted!” He told me and I knew he was right.

I wanted Sooha… and by that, I saw my soulmate as a second option to not be lonely.

“And you physically and emotionally hurt her! Burned her when you were learning how to control it and felt no empathy!” He scolded Jake. He couldn’t even look at Heeseung.

“And you?” I asked and he scoffed.

“My loyalty to Sooha would never be fair for her,” he simply said. I don’t think he was ever in love with Sooha. He definitely cared for her… took care of her.

I could now see the love he had for her.

Timestamps from Niki's stream with summaries of the Tubbo-Herobrine lore!

2h 39m - Empanada and Niki wonder why Tubbo is on so late with a weird skin. They decide to go talk to him.

2h 40m - They find Tubbo dressed as Herobrine, spinning on his back on the ground to music. Bagi explains that he has a date with Fred and is probably nervous.

2h 46m - Bagi uses rainbow jelly on Tubbo, and he resumes standing upright. He seems to have a sort of weird power where, when he points at people, they disappear or reappear.

2h 53m - Tubbo makes all of the eggs disappear and reappear. Niki asks him if he’s evil, and he shakes his head. She gets blinded for a few seconds.

2h 55m - Tubbo flies into the air and logs off.

(interim)

3h 9m - Niki, Bad, Empanada, and Richas are working on Empanda’s egg carton room when they see Herobrine-Tubbo on the tablist again. Niki goes to see what’s going on.

3h 10m - Tubbo, in a different voice: We are not done yet. Take me to shells. Shells now. Small little shells.

Niki figures out that he means the eggs but refuses to take him to where they are. He calls her the “Keeper of the Shells” and continues to ask to be taken to them.

3h ?m - Niki: Do you know Tubbo? Are you Tubbo?

Tubbo-Herobrine: Unimportant.

3h 26m - Empanada arrives.

Tubbo-Herobrine: Shell, I must share news. Are you important?

Empanada: to my family and friends yes

Tubbo-Herobrine: In everything?

Empanada: oh I don’t know?

Tubbo-Herobrine: What is everything to you?

Empanada: my family and friends

Tubbo-Herobrine: So you are important.

3h 30m - Tubbo-Herobrine points at Empanada, and she disappears. He thanks Niki, but she asks him to bring Empanada back. He says “In 60 seconds.”

3h 31m - He asks Niki if she’s important. She says everyone is important. He brings Empanada back.

3h 33m - Tubbrine says he needs a home, and Niki says they can help.

3h 34m - They find out Tubbrine is a creation of Tubbo from the Tubchunk. He asks them not to tell Tubbo about it.

Tubbrine: Creator will not be mad. Just will have to start over. When start over, I end. I end forever.

3h 38m - Tubbrine now says he needs the “Jump keeper,” seemingly referring to Niki.

Tubbrine: I struggle with jump.

3h 41m - Tubbrine stands in the water and says that it hurts. Niki puts down scaffolding for him.

3h 48m - Niki figures out that there’s a conflict Tubbrine needs help with. It seems to have something to do with Tubbrine’s ranking of the eggs’ importance. Niki thinks he’s looking for Sunny.

3h 51m - Tubbrine says he wants the egg with the aggressive personality that “may be powerful.” Empanada guesses he wants Moon, Sunny’s alter ego.

Tubbrine: May be childish.

Niki: Sounds like Richas.

3h 53m - Tubbrine says he can’t say Empanada’s rank, but she’s high.

~ 3h 56m - Tubbrine disappears.

3h 57m - Tubbrine reappears while Niki is afk and insists that Empanada go with him. She leaves a sign for Niki explaining and does.

3h 59m - Niki returns and starts to panic, searching for them, but quickly finds them nearby. She continues trying to decipher what he wants.

4h 5m - Richas arrives with Bad, and it seems to be what Tubbrine was looking for! Tubbrine questions him in a similar fashion to Empanada about importance.

4h 14m - Tubbrine makes Richas disappear, saying he was dangerous.

Tubbrine: Shell is now safe.

Tubbrine: The rank dictates.

4h 15m - Tubbrine: What does shell want?

Niki: We want him back. Can you bring him back?

4h 17m - They ask his name, and he says “I am Creation.” He brings Richas back (about now? I might have missed it).

4h 20m - Creation says “Done” and leaves. Niki explains everything she knows to Bad, and they agree to respect his wishes and not tell Tubbo. They decide to go investigate the Tubchunk.

4h 26m - After not finding anything at Tubchunk, Bad and Niki plan to ask Tubbo questions without revealing exactly what happened.

read part one first (or not! it won’t really effect the story TOO much but i’ll still recommend)

niki held the door open for you to go inside the slightly empty restaurant, “wow? gentlemen for once hm?” you giggled and he just shook his head with a slight smile.

“i don’t know what this look you have on me but, it’s not true.” he followed behind you, you just stared at him, he furrowed his eyebrows at your ‘answer’ and licked his lips out of awkwardness.

you two got your seat at a mini booth, the waiter taking your orders, leaving you and niki in a empty restaurant in front of each other.

“so.” he says to you and you turned from the window to look at him, “why do you hate me so much? besides the fact of how i act in school?” he asks.

“you surround yourself around the wrong people, and they influence you. i truly believe you are a civil human if you aren’t around the people you are.” you say, niki listens to your words carefully,

“jake?” he asked, “no! jake’s not too bad. i’m talking about.. the others.”

he nods with a low ‘ahh’. “i see.” he says and you just stared at him. “well. i don’t hate you.” he smiled, you furrowed your eyebrows before a giggle slipped out, making him chuckle.

“really? why not? what if im horrible?” you rest your hand on your palm, “because i’ve been noticing you more often. you seem so—“ he cut himself off,

“soo?” you push him, “so sweet. you’re nice to everyone and you stay in your zone. really good at kicking a damn ball, which i don’t understand— soccer is so hard..” he shook his head.

“basketball is hard? soccer is just running and kicking?!” you defend your sport and he scoffed, “nah. basketballs ways easy, just run— and shoot the ball!” he smiled, as if it was that easy.

“whatever.” you turn to the window and giggled to yourself, niki began to realize how much he liked staring at you, you were truly so so beautiful and he wondered if you knew that.

he cleared his throat to prepare himself for what he was gonna do, he lifted his arm and grabbed your chin softly, turning it back to him, your eyes widened and stared at him, “oh..” you shift in your seat.

“you’re really pretty, did you know?” he asked you, you were taken back on the sudden compliment, but you.. surprisingly weren’t complaining. “thank you niki.” you shot him a smile, and he swore he felt his heart melt.

see— many girls liked niki. it was normal. he didn’t like to admit that but it was true, he walked a foot into school and suddenly has like 100 girls on his ass asking for his number or something.

and he tried giving some of try, taking them on dates but he just.. didn’t feel the spark. not because they weren’t his type, he doesn’t even have one. they just weren’t the one for him.

and he really believed in love and soulmates, he just had to find his.

so when he felt that spark when you smiled at him, he knew something. it’s something he never felt before anyways. he’s always had his eye on you, he just didn’t wanna bother you with his popularity.

because once you’re seen with niki, you’re stuck to his name.

before you could open your mouth to say anything the waiter came over with your pancakes, you cut yourself off with a nervous chuckle as you two thanked her and began to eat.

niki loves pancakes, he immediately cut into them and shoved some in his mouth, his cheeks stuffed as he has syrup in the corner of his mouth.

“dude! you look so cool 24/7 but as soon as you eat pancakes you look like a baby.” you giggled and reached over and wiped his lip with a napkin, he stuffed back a chuckled since his mouth was full.

you giggled and began to your pancakes as you two shared a comforting silence, just the sound of the forks hitting the plates softly, you checked your phone, it was 1am.

“we should hurry.. it’s really late and i’m supposed to be staying over at karina’s.” you say, niki couldn’t speak so he just nod and continued chewing.

you two finished eating and niki paid for you, and you two were back to walking on the silent quiet rodes as he was walking you to karina’s first.

“thanks for paying for me.” you break the silence as you two finally arrived at karina’s house, he just nods softly staring at you, maybe he wasn’t so bad. when he isn’t trying to show off 24/7.

you cleared your throat. what now? do you just.. walk away or?

i guess so. you dipped your head and began to turn until niki grabbed your arm making you stop, “i really hope this isn’t our last time hanging out like this. i enjoy your presence more than i could admit.” he chuckled looking down at the floor.

you tilt your head, “yeah.. me too.” you smiled, you two just stared at each other, not wanting this night to end yet. not knowing what to say, scared if one of you said the wrong thing, the whole night would be over too soon.

niki felt his heart beating, he stared into your beautiful eyes, and this next move was straight out of nervousness.

he lifted his hands to cup your face, you jumped a little but, you let him. you wanted him too.

you melted in his touch, and he smiled at you. “goodnight, y/n.” he whispered as he continued to stare at you, small smile and his hands cupping your face.

“goodnight niki.” you blink slowly, he chuckled softly before slowly letting go, and began to take small steps backwards until he was fully turned around and down the street.

you stood there and watched him, you could still feel the warmth of his hands on your face.

you couldn’t believe you basically went on a date with one of the most popular kids at school. you just hoped it wasn’t the end, which it wouldn’t be.

maybe you’ll ditch parties more often hm?
