Canada PNP 2024- Provincial Nominee Programs for Skilled Workers
Canada PNP 2024- Provincial Nominee Programs for Skilled Workers
CANADA PROVINCIAL NOMINEE PROGRAMS
The Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) is a set of Canadian immigration programs operated by the Government of Canada in partnership with individual provinces, each of which having its own requirements and 'streams' (i.e., target groups). In a program stream, provinces and territories may, for example, target: business people, students, skilled workers, or semi-skilled workers.
While provincial governments manage PNPs according to their individual objectives, the federal government's immigration department, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, ultimately administers and decides on permanent residence applications.

The BC Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) is an immigration program for British Columbia that gives "high-demand foreign workers and experienced entrepreneurs" the opportunity to become a permanent resident in BC.The BC PNP offers 2 pathways to obtain a permanent residence in BC, each containing different streams one can apply under, depending on their National Occupational Classification skill level, job, or international-student status:
Skills Immigration: This stream, primarily using a points-based invitation system, is for skilled and semi-skilled workers in high-demand occupations in BC. Candidates may not need prior work experience for some categories; however, Entry-Level and Semi-Skilled category applicants require B.C. work experience. Candidates may have work experience from abroad; and recent international graduates of a Canadian post-secondary institution may not need any work experience, depending on the job being offered.
BC PNP Tech: Those in specific tech occupations may qualify for invitation at a lower points threshold and receive priority assignment for processing..
Express Entry: International Student and Skilled Worker candidates can select either the Express Entry or Standard version of the BC PNP streams. Express Entry streams offer shorter timelines for federal permanent residence application processing.
Priority Occupations: Since 2022, the BC PNP has also provided occupation specific invitations to apply at lower point thresholds based on specific occupations in education, healthcare and veterinary care.
Health Authority and International Post-Graduate Streams - Qualifying candidates, such as those with a job offer from a public health authority or those who've graduated from selected programs at BC post-secondary institutions, can apply directly to the program without registering, obtaining a score and being invited to apply.
Entrepreneur Immigration: This stream, using a points-based invitation system, is for experienced entrepreneurs who wish to actively manage a business in BC. Applicants must create a minimum number of jobs, have the required personal net worth, and make a minimum level of eligible investment.
Entrepreneur Immigration – Regional Pilot: an option for entrepreneurs who wish to start a new business in participating regional communities across BC.
Entrepreneur Immigration – Base: an option for entrepreneurs who wish to acquire or start a new business in the province.
Strategic Projects: an option for international companies seeking to expand into BC, and who require permanent residency for key employees.

So, the Haunting Heroes server did a Who Wrote That game with the theme of "wingfic" a while back. I did an entry and I liked it enough that I decided to expand on it. Gonna start posting scenes here whenever I get them done, and eventually piece it together for ao3. This first part is the intro, but the rest probably won't actually be in order.
Update Mar 11, 2024: Here is the Subscription Post
Ectoplasm Gives You Wings
(Working title)
DPxDC, T-rated genfic.
Everyone knew ghosts had wings. It was in every ghost story throughout history, regardless of culture. It was one of their defining traits, like going through walls or fading into invisibility. The unquiet dead soared through the night on birdlike wings, occasionally leaving unnaturally large feathers as an omen of impending death.
As soon as the newly-working portal spat Danny out, he knew there would be no hiding what had happened. His ghostly form came with a pair of large wings that didn't go away when he turned back human. In his ghost form, they were mostly black with bars of white near the bottom edge. The reverse was true when he was human. It was an indication of what had happened to him that he couldn't escape.
Tucker and Sam tried to play it off to his parents as a meta mutation that had suddenly appeared. They'd heard of it happening before on TV and through the internet. Besides, there were winged people in the Justice League. Danny's parents had never talked about them being secret ghosts.
Danny would never forget his parents' horrified faces as they came downstairs and found him. The way their eyes skipped over his face entirely and focused on the wings behind him. His dad frozen in place, expression slack with shock. His mom's face going from horror to determination as she set her jaw and reached for a bazooka.
Danny and his friends managed to escape them and run all the way to Tucker's house. Running was harder with a new pair of limbs hanging off his back like so much dead (hah) weight. It was clear that Danny couldn't stay here. His parents might be cranks, but once they realized the portal worked they would have evidence to prove Danny was a ghost. At least, sort of. Would they try to experiment on him, or just try to help him pass on? Danny assumed it would be the latter, but he had also assumed his mom wouldn't ever draw a weapon on him.
Tucker and Sam helped him to pack a camping backpack full of spare clothes he'd left at Tucker's, a handful of important essentials like a first aid kit, and a sleeping bag. They left for a while and came back with a cheap cellphone, a handful of prepaid phone cards, and a surprising amount of cash. Who would have thought Sam was secretly loaded?
They argued all night about where he should go. Danny barely knew his Dad's side of the family, let alone whether they'd take him in. His mom's sister Alicia was somewhere in Arkansas, but Danny couldn't remember the name of the town. Besides, he hadn't seen her since he was about nine. What if she believed Maddie over him? Tucker and Sam suggested their own family members. Danny turned them down. He didn't want to be a burden to his friends' families.
In the end, they decided that he would blend in best in a big city far away from Amity. The next day, Danny climbed on a Greyhound bus headed to the East Coast. He couldn't hide the wings, no matter what he did. The best he could do was wrap the sleeping bag around himself like a blanket. Thankfully, no one on the bus seemed to care. They all had their own issues to worry about. Most seemed content to watch their phones or the scenery instead of looking too closely at the weird kid wrapped in a big, lumpy sleeping bag.
As the hours dragged on, Danny was increasingly greatful that everyone was minding their own business. There was something else wrong with him. His hands kept slipping through the sleeping bag. Going through solid objects, like a ghost.
The plan was to find a place in Metropolis that provided resources to meta kids. But by the time the bus reached Gotham Danny was exhausted and anxious. His hands had started to go through things. What if he went straight through the bus while it was driving? He had to get a handle on this. He could always go to Metropolis the next day.
Danny got off the bus. The city around him was gray and dreary, from the concrete sidewalks up to the cloud-covered sky. It felt like the sky was too close, more of a ceiling than an open expanse. Something about it gave Danny a strangely claustrophobic feeling. He tried to shrug it off as the lack of sleep catching up to him. The last time Danny slept was the night before the portal accident. That had been well over twenty-four hours ago. He needed to find a safe place to sleep.

For a moment, the words hung in the air between them like mist. Jake's expression shifted, his eyes widening in surprise and disbelief. And then, slowly, he reached out and cupped her face in his hands, his thumbs brushing away a stray tear. "Yn," he whispered, his voice hoarse with emotion. "I never knew..."
Time seemed to stand still as they leaned in toward each other, their lips just inches apart. Their hearts pounded in unison, and the air around them crackled with an electricity that neither of them could deny. And then, with a softness that belied his strength, Jake pressed his lips against hers, drawing her close. Her heart soared as she felt his fingers tangled in her hair, his tongue teasing her lips before gaining entry.
As their kiss deepened, yn could feel the weight of their shared secrets lifting from their shoulders, like a heavy cloak discarded in the sunlight. They were no longer alone, no longer hiding from the world. They were together, finally, and nothing could tear them apart.
When they finally pulled away from each other, they were both flushed and breathless. Jake reached out to wipe the tears from her cheeks, his thumbs tracing the contours of her face. "I love you too, yn," he said, his voice husky with emotion. "And I always will." And in that moment, as they gazed into each other's eyes, they knew that they had found something precious and rare: a love that would weather any storm, a love that would last forever.
They spent the rest of the day in a haze of newfound happiness, walking hand in hand through the halls, laughing together in class. Even the teachers seemed to notice the change in them, their smiles indulgent and understanding. And as the sun began to set, casting long shadows across the campus, they shared one last kiss under the watchful eye of the school bell tower, promising to always find their way back to each other.
The weeks that followed were a whirlwind of new experiences: late-night talks, secret dates, and stolen kisses in dark corners. They were inseparable, their every movement seemingly choreographed, their every thought synchronized. They didn't need words to communicate; a glance, a touch, was enough. And as they grew closer, their love deepening with each passing day, they began to realize that they didn't need the confines of the school. Their lives were inextricably intertwined. They even went to prom together, their first dance as a couple etched forever into their memories.
As they began to plan for their future, they faced a new challenge; how to make their relationship work when they were separated by the vast expanse of the country.
Jake had been accepted into an Ivy League university on the east coast, while yn had her heart set on staying close to home and attending a nearby college. But they refused to let distance come between them, vowing to make their long-distance relationship work. They talked on the phone every night, sending each other letters and care packages, and even found ways to sneak in visits whenever they could.
The years passed, and they both graduated from college, Jake with a degree in business and yn with a degree in art history. They continued to support each other's dreams, Jake's career taking him across the globe and yn's passion for art leading her down a path of her own. And through it all, they remained inseparable, their love as strong and vibrant as ever.
One day, as they sat together in a park, watching the leaves change color and the world around them grow older, Jake finally popped the question. He got down on one knee, pulled out a small velvet box, and proposed. Of course, yn said yes, and they began planning their wedding, their future together filled with promise and hope.
As they walked hand in hand into the sunset, they knew that they were not just two people in love, but rather two halves of a whole, two souls destined to be together forever.

Resolution ; A Sigh Of Relief
a [polyfrag] DID system's experience with resolution (functional multiplicity)
please do not bring syscourse to this post. this post is about our own personal healing journey and is not intended as advice or professional info
TWs: Isolation [heavy], abuse [heavy but not in depth], self harm mention [brief], suicidality mention [brief], unsure of other triggers
In Mid June of 2022, I was diagnosed with DID for the first of two times. Flashback to 2021. I had been in and out of therapy, in my teen years, but after researching my symptoms to try and find a proper care plan for my mental health, I ended up self diagnosing myself with BPD. The view I have always had on therapy and self diagnosis is that it doesn't take a real diagnosis to get the help you need, just use the resources that help you regardless, so I wasn't really hesitant to self diagnose myself [after research obvs]. After i self dx, I decided I would find a trauma informed DBT therapist, since I saw DBT mentioned often as treatment for people with BPD. After a while of researching, I found exactly that in my first therapist as a young adult. She was an amazing mental health professional tbh. She taught me skills that still have use today, and helped me grow, so so much. However, a year into therapy, she asked me to consider the possibility of having DID, and she asked me to reach out to my [potential] alters just to see what would happen. Ofc, I did exactly that. I made a dinky little journal for anyone to write in, as long as they used a sign off or different colored pen. That was when the flood gates opened, alters expressing themselves in the journal, and system awareness was achieved for the second time in our system's history.
Yes, you heard me, for the second time.
The first time system discovery starts for us actually starts sometime in October of 2016 [when I was 12-13]. It was the peak of my abuse, and because of that, I attempted to create an imaginary friend to have someone who knew me, just,,, period tbh. I wanted someone to know me down to my own memories because I was afraid of being alone, and I was tired of having my trauma further ignored and disregarded, even encouraged, by the adults in my life.
I was a deeply, deeply isolated kid, and had no one in my life i could trust or depend on until I was into my late teen years. I didn't have any real friends [and was, instead, abused by my peers], didn't have a family that actively cared about me, the church i was going to had and was abusing me profoundly, and the partner I had treated me like less than human. It was abuse coming from all angles, all facets, of my life. I could not escape the abuse no matter where I turned, so I turned inwards. I wanted someone, anyone who could understand me and listen, especially someone who knew what was happening to me for a fact and wouldn't gaslight every experience I had.
That's when I ''created'' 💙, but mind you, I didn't actually create him. He was, actually, his own whole dude before I ''created'' him, and he was NOT someone who would comfort me gently like I had wanted him to be. He was, instead, a sarcastic, blunt guy who only comforted me when things got actively tough. At that time, he had even fronted more than once to prevent stupid decisions I did, and it actually marked the first period of concerning black out amnesia. HOWEVER, through ''creating'' 💙, I got in contact with more of our system members [specifically 🎸,🧣,🌵 and 💤, who all are active members to this day, still fronting from time to time]. Our communication flourished back then, and everything was well documented, down to journal entries I had written about 💙's ''creation''. We had drawings and journals, which were all thrown away or deleted in 2019.
Speaking of, our communication with the system fell apart in 2019, shortly after the body's birthday [which is usually very traumatic for our system]. It was a complete host change brought on by the CEO of our system that ruined communication. It left that new host, 🐛. Confused, and without any memory of our life before then, 🐛 forgot everything about the system. Literally down to the name of 💙. All communication was cut, and all prior knowledge of our system was disposed of because our journals and drawings were thrown out by an alter who was heavily influenced by the CEO. CEO did not want us to know we were a system, and he had been dormant for years at that point. At least until he [somehow] got triggered and saw what was going on. 🐛 was the alter that later got in contact with everyone in 2021 and got us diagnosed the first time. Thankfully, the supposed creation of 💙 was what made communication pick up again smoothly, and we were, once again, a tightknit group of alters sharing a body. We're still like that, for the most part.
Our upbringing heavily impacted how we go about our recovery process, and how we will continue to recover. So when we entered therapy with a DID specialist, we had already radically accepted our systemhood after being diagnosed once. We have a very much 'your opinion of me doesn't matter to me' type of thinking, at least in regards to anyone other than a medical professional. Ofc, DID specialist was like 'yeah, I can tell lol' and diagnosed me shortly thereafter. After being diagnosed with DID a second time by the specialist, we were asked what path in recovery we wanted, and to think and talk about amongst ourselves. The big question every recovering system faces. Did we want to pursue final fusion or not?
Overwhelmingly for our system, we wanted to aim for resolution [aka functional multiplicity]. HOWEVER, there is nothing wrong with final fusion. A lot of people actually fear monger about it amongst the CDD community. So let me say that again: Final Fusion is NOT a bad thing and is a valid way to recover. Just because it is not our path doesn't mean it isn't someone else's. Here are two posts that give some decent info on Final Fusion: [post one] [post two]. I can find more if need be, but that isn't what this post is about. This is simply to reaffirm that final fusion is nothing to be scared of, and a 110% valid path of recovery. Our experience doesn't align with final fusion, but since I mentioned it briefly, I thought I would talk about it for a second.
Fusion moment aside, We have, since mid 2022 for sure, felt like we don't have a solid host, and we have always felt that way because of the cycle of hosts. The body holds a good number of us, that's for sure, and because of how many of us there are, we have no solid one host. There are frequent fronters, sure, but nobody is a host in the traditional, typically talked about sense. For this reason, we feel that we have no core alter [which we don't, unsurprisingly], and we found it unfair to each other that we take away our freedom to express ourselves as alters. Like yeah, we are parts of a whole, but there was never a 'core' individual. There was never an 'original'. We were pretty much destined to form DID. It is what it is, but because of that, we feel we don't have an alter from which all the others split from. I'm just a collective of parts that never even had the chance to connect to each other. Most of us feel so individual from each other because we were a highly partitionary system with no memory sharing or knowledge of each other. I honestly think if what happened in 2016 didn't happen, I would've only known my system through the 2021 diagnosis, and it would not have been as easy to pick communication back up. Things are wildly different now in regards to amnesiac barriers, but when we did find each other, we were our own people expressing ourselves through different [covert] means.
Due to feeling so separated and individualistic, Resolution was, ultimately, the best decision for our system, and since having made this decision and began recovery, our life has actually become something worth living, if that makes sense. I mean Internally and mentally. We function together as a team, and it's a great thing to witness tbh. It's taken a lot of hard work with a lot of disagreements in system, but for a life time ahead of me, it's worth it. I'm finally starting to love all of me, all of us. It's been hard, so incredibly hard, and we still don't always get along. There are still disagreements, votes that spark heated discussions, but that's just what happens when you're sharing a body with so many folks.
Of course, u see me use I/Me pronouns because we all acknowledge the body and the role it has in our collective life. When I say I, when I say me, it is the acknowledgement of the body's role in our life. The Body is the part of us that makes us whole, what we live through, and what makes us a team and family [in-sys family members at least because as a whole we don't see each other as family]. We are so incredibly grateful for the body and the collective Identity we live through. It is a sigh of relief to finally have come this far into our healing where things are finally getting better for us. I'm healing all parts of me, and I am authentically myself by being a system. We love the life we live finally. Even if we're still living with abusers, we know that once we're out of here, it's the final step to our trauma recovery and what will make us free to be ourselves.
Trauma is bound to happen again in my lifetime, re-traumatization will happen too. I'm young [for an adult at least], and, like I mentioned briefly, I'm still in an abusive situation. For this reason, we are learning to cope with day to day stress, as well as preparing our coping tool box for future traumas. At this stage in our healing, we have attained near entire co-consciousness, and have learned to share daily and important memories or notes from alter to alter, subsystem to subsystem. Sometimes its just one fronter and the CEO or the whole Crew and Co., yet CEO makes sure things get to everyone. No longer do we live our day to day confused on what's happened, what our past is and who we are, if we've eaten, taken our meds, showered, if we have an appointment ect. Now when switches happen, things are not confusing, and smooth with no sort of amnesiac barrier. Afterall, a good 97% of us are co-con in some capacity, and even then, we're able to memory share day to day memories. It's like whoever is best equipped to deal with a situation fronts.
Some of us don't want to share our trauma memories with each other entirely due to it's intensity, so we instead talk about it amongst ourselves and make peace with our trauma that way [with the help of our therapist]. It's like group therapy lol. Most of us are just content with the knowledge of not fully knowing everything, and having worked in trauma recovery for years now, our past traumas affects our day to day a lot less [any disruptions now are from the collective disorders we have and our living situation]. The peace that comes from being okay with not knowing is relieving, and the alters who hold the bulk of the trauma have started to work through their traumas.
Sharing trauma memories in our system can cause body and other kinds of flashbacks, panic and extreme distress, and can even trigger self harm and suicidality in some of our alters. Almost always, with trauma memories, its more than one alter getting triggered. I like to think of it like sculk sensors from Minecraft [minecraft moment]. When one is triggered, nearby alters in front and co-con get triggered like a wave effect, but it has a lot to due with similar types of traumas or being fragments of the same trauma. It doesn't stop it from happening. What we've done is worked on helping trauma holders cope and making them 'unstuck' in the trauma. Memory Sharing with trauma was once, and still is to an extent, dangerous for us, but the memory sharing via talking with each other, rather than give up the memories themselves, has caused us to even out and begin to work through the actual trauma, work through everything we have been through. It may sound flawed, but it works for us.
After having achieved a grasp on resolution, we've taken notice to our collective disorders and experiences, like our psychosis symptoms [from an unknown origin] and OCD. A lot of what we thought were persecutors ended up being our OCD, so things got quieter in that way. This helped us to work on those mental health problems and cultivate a further sense of peace. We also were able to start to work on other therapy methods that cater to our flavor of personality disorder. Achieving Resolution to even the degree we have has been phenomenal, and it only gets better from here once we reach full resolution.
None of this is to say resolution will or should be your path in healing, so please take what I say with a grain of salt. This is our experience with our healing journey, and nothing is the same from CDD system to CDD system. I just wanted to post and ramble about my progress because I am proud of myself and our progress!!! Obviously, I am not a representative for anyone other than myself. It's just so nice to be able to actually see my progress, see our progress. I also feel like I don't see many people talk about late stage DID recovery in any way, resolution or final fusion. Honestly, its even nice to just label our progress as being in late stage recovery. I'm glad to be me, as a system, while also dancing my way down the path of healing [lol].
Not sure if anyone is curious, but I'm always open to answering questions about my experiences with resolution as a polyfrag DID system. nothing intrusive about trauma, but I'm down to talk about the aspects of resolution and stuff. Just know I'm not a psychiatrist or other professional, and I don't speak for any other system but my own.

Retrograde Revision 3: Archaeologist
Tumblr media
(art by BorjaPindado on DeviantArt, featured in Arkham Horror)
And it’s time for another revisit to some of my oldest entries on the blog, and this time, it’s the archaeologist!
I’ve said many times that certain archetypes of certain classes feel almost like entirely different careers and vocations than offshoots of the same class, and today’s entry, from Ultimate Combat, is what actually introduced me to the concept!
While this archetype has more in common with Dr. Indiana Jones or Dr. Evelyn Carnahan than it does with the real thing, it’s easy to see why bard was used as the basis for bringing this concept to life, even if the investigator rivals it in many ways. After all, a bard has access to a deep pool of knowledge and their spellcasting can be either flavored as them studying the arcane and occult secrets of ancient civilization or simply a practical skill to pick up for field work in a world where the relics of the past often have strong opinions about being recovered by modern civilizations.
This archetype also does a good job of expressing “bard that is trying to emulate the traditional skillset of a rogue.”
Regardless of that, in a world of ancient wonders and past civilizations, it only makes sense that archaeology would exist in some form in a fantasy setting, recovering relics for historical study or profit, depending on who’s doing the digging. Both can be equally devoted to the work though.
Whether it’s boldness or some form of supernatural luck, these archaeologists can draw upon seemingly otherworldly fortune when they need to, functioning similarly to a combination of inspire courage and inspire competence, but also applying to their saves and only affecting them. Insert your jokes about humming adventure music while they perform activities here.
They also train to notice small details as well as disabling mechanisms, both important skills in the trap-laden tombs they often visit.
They also gain both uncanny dodge and evasion, similar to a rogue, deftly avoiding danger.
Additionally, these bards also learn many different talents associated with rogues, including a few advanced ones as well.
This archetype is good for those that want to be a problem-solver for the party. Yes, they are especially good at dealing with traps and noticing details, but they also have access to both bardic spells and rogue talents, making them very customizable. I recommend a combination of buffing spells, utility spells, and a mix of utility and combat talents for a character that can do a little bit of everything though specializing ain’t bad either.
Unfortunately, real-world archaeology, particularly western archaeology, while scientific and historic in nature, still has nasty elements of tomb robbing in it’s own history, relics of the past curated in museums far from the very people whose cultures those items are a record of their heritage. Now, the Pathfinder Society in the Lost Omens setting subverts this by having lodges in multiple countries so that the relics deemed safe for public viewing can be put on display for the people whom find them culturally significant. Of course, villainous archaeologist associated with the Aspis Consortium could make good villains as well.
The idol of Xaxitl has vanished from the museum it was displayed in. Some blame the locals retrieving it from those who defiled their ancestors temples, but Professor Herris believes it was stolen by members of a daemonic cult and political party he has run across before, seeking to use the idol’s dark power to their own ends. The biggest challenge may not be retrieving the artifact, but dealing with the professor’s abrasive personality, however.
Isea Ferdt, the most knowledgeable authority on ancient mountain elf culture has gone missing. She was last heard from planning an expedition to a newly discovered dig site in the Amarac foothills. As certain signs depicted in mountain elf culture are beginning to manifest, discovering her whereabouts, and perhaps rescue, has become paramount, as only her expertise can correctly interpret these prophecies.
Doomsday cults are often crackpots establishments ran by deranged, but otherwise relatively harmless madmen. The Cult of the Blinding Eye, however, has recently become tenfold more dangerous than before, as if they were being guided towards their endgame by someone with the knowledge of archaic evil that they otherwise lack.

Where are the Eremites now? *down the back of the sofa*
Well, besides their recent Hulu appearance…
In 2016's Doctor Who Christmas special, The Return of Doctor Mysterio, the Superman stand-in Grant Gordon receives his superpowers when, as a child, he swallows a gift from the Twelfth Doctor which he thought was a cough drop. As the Doctor later explained, it was much more than a cough drop:
DOCTOR: [It's] like a kind of on-board computer. Come here. Can you see, can you see that little yellow star at the end of that curve? It comes from near there. Formed in the heart of a red hole and stabilised in pure dwarf star crystal. The gemstone is intuitive. It knows what you want and draws energy from the nearest star to make it happen. There's only four of them left in the universe. The Apocalypse Monks of the Andurax called this one the Hazandra, the Ghost of Love and Wishes. Okay, then, pop it in.
Beginning the day after Christmas, Titan Comics released an eight-part comic series called Ghost Stories featuring the Twelfth Doctor's later adventures with Grant and his family, and in the final issue we actually got to meet these "Apocalypse Monnks of the Andurax". But when we do, the Doctor calls them something slightly different:
Tumblr media
In its entry on "Faction Precursors", The Book of the War says of the Eremites,
Some commentators have drawn tenuous comparisons between Faction Paradox and the Eremites [… But] members of the Faction decorate themselves in ceremonial armour, and only draw their own blood when absolutely necessary, whereas Eremites were more likely to find expression through severe self-mutilation and the abnegation of pain.
And indeed, what do we see in Ghost Stories when some Vigilant Eremites pull back their hoods to operate a bit of machinery? Distinctly Faction-like visages:
Tumblr media
The Book of the War concludes,
There’s a maxim that history repeats itself first as tragedy, then as comedy, then as farce. If any parallels can reasonably be drawn between the Eremites and Faction Paradox, then perhaps it could be said that the Eremites are the tragedy and the Faction the comedy.
When comparing Doctor Mysterio to The Book of the War, that comparison may be flipped around – but the point remains.
(My friend Ryan Fogarty, writer and canonwelder extraordinaire, has noted further, even more remarkable connections between Ghost Stories' Vigilant Eremites and some other figures from ancient Time Lord myth. I hope we'll all get to see his vision of the Eremites some day!)

some thoughts on Memories of Emanon
Tumblr media
There are, I think, a few ways you can make a truly great work of art. One of those is to express a single idea as perfectly as possible. In the moment, with this kind of art, it should feel like no one else has ever felt this emotion or pondered this concept. It should, temporarily, render everything else dealing with the same ideas irrelevant.
Such is how I feel after completing Memories of Emanon, probably the best concentrated capsule of the highly romantic notion; "two people meet for a short time. They part thereafter and never see each other again, but the meeting leaves a mark on both of their lives."
In this case, the people are our protagonist, a free-roaming average fellow with a love of sci-fi novels, and the title character, Emanon, who holds in her head a perfect memory, not just for her own life, but for the lives of each of her direct ancestors back to the dawn of life on Earth. 5 Billion Years of history, locked in the noggin of an average girl.
I am not able to capture, and indeed I'm not sure I'd be *interested* in capturing, the exact specifics of that aforementioned feeling that reading this manga gave me. But I like it a lot, I might love it. I definitely love Emanon herself, a bewitching presence, the oldest of old souls, who nonetheless seems perfectly ordinary in her mysteriousness. The story seems to portray her---and the postscript from the author and artist call this out directly---as a being apart from the narrative itself. Emanon seems to somehow hover outside of stories in general, and to have a life of her own. I feel like you can draw a pretty direct line from her to characters like the titular Eri in Goodbye, Eri, so in some sense, that's actually true.
Now, this was part of the manga challenge I mentioned in my Terror of Allegory writeup, and part of this particular entry was that I'm also supposed to read the sequel to this (apparently there were a number of Emanon stories, but this and a followup comprise the entirety thereof in the manga format), and I'm struggling to imagine how that will work considering that this volume is so perfect on its own, but I suppose I will find out.

How Museum Design Firms Enhance Visitor Interaction Experience
Museum design firms play a crucial role in enhancing the visitor interaction experience, breathing new life into the way people engage with art, history, and cultural exhibits. Armed with visionary ideas and cutting-edge technologies, these companies are transforming traditional museum experiences into awe-inspiring journeys of discovery.
Harnessing the power of interactive displays and installations, museum exhibit design companies have shattered the barriers of passive observation. Through touchscreens, gesture recognition, and augmented reality (AR), visitors now actively engage with exhibits, unraveling hidden layers and unlocking a world of knowledge at their fingertips.
No longer confined to static artifacts, they can delve deeper, zooming in on intricate details, accessing additional information, and even stimulating virtual objects, making personal connections with the subject matter like never before.
Implementing Advanced Techniques to Enhance Visitor Experience
Furthermore, the best museum design companies, such as Tagbin, focus on creating dynamic and multisensory environments. They employ techniques such as lighting, sound design, and spatial arrangements to evoke emotional responses and heighten the overall visitor experience. From carefully designed lighting that accentuates artworks to immersive audiovisual installations that transport visitors to different eras, these elements contribute to a more engaging and memorable visit.
In their quest for inclusivity, museum design firms leverage technology to break down barriers. They integrate features such as audio guides, sign language interpretation, and tactile exhibits to cater to diverse audiences, including those with visual or hearing impairments. By providing multiple entry points and accommodating different learning styles, these companies ensure that all visitors can actively participate and connect with the exhibits.
How is Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya a Perfect Example of a Visitor-centric Museum?
The Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya, designed and executed by Tagbin, one of the best museum design companies in Delhi, stands as a shining example of a visitor-centric museum, redefining the way visitors engage with exhibits and creating a truly immersive experience. This museum has employed a range of techniques and technologies that place visitors at the heart of the museum, allowing them to actively participate, play, and learn.
Tumblr media
By integrating cutting-edge technologies like Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), and Robotics, the museum's ‘Anubhuti Engagement Zone’ has revolutionized visitor interaction.
Through AR-integrated exhibits such as "Stroll with PM" and "Selfie with PM," visitors can walk alongside their favorite Prime Ministers or capture cherished moments with them, making personal connections with history. The VR-integrated "Helicopter Ride" offers a simulated aerial experience, allowing visitors to explore India's visionary projects firsthand, igniting their imagination and sense of wonder.
In addition, the Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya fosters visitor engagement through interactive exhibits that invite active participation. The "India 2047" exhibit encourages visitors to share their visions and suggestions for India's future, empowering them to shape the narrative.
"Sketch and Bring a Mission to Life" unleashes the creativity of children, enabling them to draw and complete missions, merging education with artistic expression. Furthermore, the museum emphasizes unity and togetherness through exhibits like the "Unity Chain," digitally forming the longest human chain to symbolize solidarity among visitors.
Tumblr media
Emphasizing the AT Psychological Theory - A Powerful Framework to Design AI-based Smart Museum
The AT (Affective-Transactional) Psychological Theory holds quite a lot of relevance in the context of creating meaningful and impactful museum experiences. By understanding the intricate interplay between emotions, cognition, and behavior, museum design firms can harness the power of this theory to craft exhibits and environments that elicit strong emotional responses, engage visitors on a deeper level, and leave a lasting impression.
Applying the AT Psychological Theory in museum design involves considering the emotional impact of exhibits and the overall museum environment. By strategically incorporating elements that evoke specific emotions, designers can create immersive and memorable experiences. Whether it's the use of lighting, sound, visual displays, or interactive elements, the goal is to elicit emotional responses that resonate with visitors, triggering curiosity, awe, empathy, or joy.
Final Words
Well, there is certainly no denying that museum exhibit design companies are the catalysts behind a revolution in visitor interaction. With their unwavering commitment to pushing boundaries and their relentless pursuit of innovation, they have paved the way for unforgettable museum experiences that inspire, educate, and leave an indelible mark on the hearts and minds of all who enter their transformative realms.

Tumblr media
What is the process of Canada PNP in 2024?
Have a valid Express entry profile.
Choose a suitable PNP Program.

BC Provincial Nominee Program
Strategic Projects: an option for international companies seeking to expand into BC, and who require permanent residency for key employees.

so chapter 3/the may 16th entry of dracula is actually one of the pillars of my argument that Dracula Is A Love Story.
the central point of dracula is that humans loving each other matters; that ordinary people can stand against darkness and evil simply by the strength of their connections to each other. dracula is old and powerful, but he is, fundamentally, alone.
dracula cannot love. this is what defeats him in the end.
spoiler-laden and very long discussion under the cut.
we learn some interesting and important things from the scene of dracula and the vampire women. first, dracula’s own peers don’t even like him. the relationship between them is overtly hostile, with the women disobeying dracula’s orders and being restrained only by his superior strength:
I saw his strong hand grasp the slender neck of the fair woman and with giant's power draw it back, the blue eyes transformed with fury, the white teeth champing with rage, and the fair cheeks blazing red with passion. ... With a fierce sweep of his arm, he hurled the woman from him, and then motioned to the others, as though he were beating them back; it was the same imperious gesture that I had seen used to the wolves.
the vampires are equated explicitly with wolves-- not as the family structure we now know wolf packs to be, but rather as a group of vicious and naturally solitary killers who are forced to band together under the power of the strongest one for the sake of acquiring food.
then we get this exchange:
"How dare you touch him, any of you? How dare you cast eyes on him when I had forbidden it? Back, I tell you all! This man belongs to me! Beware how you meddle with him, or you'll have to deal with me." The fair girl, with a laugh of ribald coquetry, turned to answer him:—
"You yourself never loved; you never love!"
more evidence of the disdain, hatred, and perhaps fear that the other vampires hold for the count; it hints at a history that we never actually get, but can perhaps guess at, especially in the immediate context of the scene (the women attempting to prey on jonathan), which frames a vampiric attack, very very obviously, as a sexual assault. and it expresses, flat-out, in so many words, a core theme of the novel: dracula cannot love as humans do.
dracula tries to refute this claim, in a very unconvincing way:
Then the Count turned, after looking at my face attentively, and said in a soft whisper:—
"Yes, I too can love; you yourselves can tell it from the past. Is it not so? Well, now I promise you that when I am done with him you shall kiss him at your will.”
yes, tumblr, this is the homoerotic cherry on top of the homoerotic ice cream, but like...
consider the parallels between the implications of this statement and this passage from jonathan in chapter XXII, which is incidentally my favorite line in this entire book and has lived in my brain rent-free for ten years:
To one thing I have made up my mind: if we find out that Mina must be a vampire in the end, then she shall not go into that unknown and terrible land alone. I suppose it is thus that in old times one vampire meant many; just as their hideous bodies could only rest in sacred earth, so the holiest love was the recruiting sergeant for their ghastly ranks.
like. okay! okay then!! jesus christ. hang on a second i need a moment.
fundamentally what stoker is doing in chapter III is drawing a distinction between the selfless, self-sacrificing love that the human characters will later demonstrate for each other (jonathan’s for mina, or lucy’s suitors for her--
What can I do?" asked Arthur hoarsely. "Tell me, and I shall do it. My life is hers, and I would give the last drop of blood in my body for her." ... "If you only knew how gladly I would die for her you would understand——" [chapter X]
)
and the “love” that dracula expresses for jonathan in this scene, which is no more in the end than a malicious possessiveness over his food. maybe when the count was a mortal man he was capable of loving in a mortal way-- his words to the vampire women seem almost wistful or nostalgic to me. but look at the contrast between lucy’s deep love and playful affection for her boys when she was alive and, well, this:
Lucy's eyes in form and colour; but Lucy's eyes unclean and full of hell-fire, instead of the pure, gentle orbs we knew. ... With a careless motion, she flung to the ground, callous as a devil, the child that up to now she had clutched strenuously to her breast, growling over it as a dog growls over a bone. The child gave a sharp cry, and lay there moaning. There was a cold-bloodedness in the act which wrung a groan from Arthur; when she advanced to him with outstretched arms and a wanton smile he fell back and hid his face in his hands.
She still advanced, however, and with a languorous, voluptuous grace, said:—
"Come to me, Arthur. Leave these others and come to me. My arms are hungry for you. Come, and we can rest together. Come, my husband, come!"
There was something diabolically sweet in her tones—something of the tingling of glass when struck—which rang through the brains even of us who heard the words addressed to another. As for Arthur, he seemed under a spell; moving his hands from his face, he opened wide his arms. [chapter XVI]
the revenant that was lucy retains her memories, but none of her human feeling; arthur’s love for her becomes no more than a tool to manipulate him into being her next meal.
vampires are incapable of love.
they are incapable of true community, too; fundamentally outcasts, fundamentally loners, who only group together under duress for the sake of hunger or the threat of violence. and it is due, in the end, to this incapability that they are defeated. for all his power, dracula dies unceremoniously at the hands of a bunch of young men who care deeply for each other and would do anything for jonathan harker’s wife. there’s a hope in that, and a comfort. as samuel vimes once said: it’s better to light a flamethrower than to curse the darkness.
or, in terms stoker would have been more familiar with: the light shines in darkness, and the darkness cannot comprehend it.
a final note: it would be remiss of me to ignore the unfortunate implications of the very queer framing of this assault scene-- other people have talked about the way that the homoeroticism of dracula’s claiming of jonathan, and the implicit feminization of jonathan-as-gothic-ingenue, was in context intended to increase the horror factor, and about the way it probably reflects stoker’s complex feelings about his own sexuality. the idea that homosexuality is “not really love” or, worse, is inherently assault, is still prevalent in today’s society, and my interpretation of this scene unfortunately cannot escape those undercurrents. the incorporation of these themes in the novel is masterful writing, and would also be rightly considered abhorrent if it were published today. ah, the art of literary criticism!

JUNE 7th – EPISODE 6 CONTINUATION
It was his birthday and their first anniversary and Hob was on a cloud. Morpheus was still sleeping and Hob couldn’t help but to look at him, still unsure how he got to snatch this amazing creature for himself. He remembered how it started. More precisely, how it started again.
7th June 2021 – The New Inn
Hob was grading papers, sitting at his table, when he felt someone stopping by. He lifted his eyes from the papers to look at the intruder and couldn’t believe his eyes. His Stranger! Here! Finally!
“You’re late”
“It seems I owe you an apology. I’ve always heard it impolite to keep one’s friends waiting.”
Ah! He knew it! His Stranger sat, facing him and smiled. Wow! Being called friend and a smile! What a day!
“I’m so happy to see you again, my friend. Please, let me put these in my bag and we can talk all you want! Do you believe I’m a teacher now? History, at the University nearby. I love my students and I love teaching, it’s very rewarding. Until the exams, that is. Then it’s hell on Earth. And the weird dreams about my teenage self noticing that he forget his pants in the middle of the highschool. I mean… I obviously went to University to study but as an adult. I barely had an education before our 2nd meeting. I don’t know why I dream about this!”
“You always have been clever, Hob. Now that you have the means to the end, it shows. I don’t know why you had these dreams but maybe it’s to catch-up what you missed back then…”
“Don’t laugh. I know you’re laughing inside. My dreams were really weird this past century. They felt like… They felt like children hiding behind a curtain or under a bed. They were too many of them for the spot they’re hiding in but they make it work somehow. Bah… Don’t listen to my nonsense.”
“It is not nonsense, Hob. Maybe I should introduce myself better. I’m Dream of the Endless, King of Dreams and Nightmares and I think some of my subjects found solace in your presence.”
“Oh! S’ppose you want them back? Unless they’re already back?”
“Did you feel them at home only? We can go check, if you want?”
“Well, that’s not far away.”
And indeed, it wasn’t very far. Hob brought him to the first floor.
“When I renovated the Inn, I took the two rooms over the kitchen and made a little, cosy studio for me. That was my first rehabilitation works here, so I could be certain to not miss you when you come back.”
“Did you have so much faith I would be back?”
“I hoped. I hoped it would be sooner than later but I knew you would be back, one day.”
Once in Hob’s home, Dream felt indeed little dreams and nightmares all over the place. They appeared in front of Hob, rejoicing that Dream was back.
It took a whole year for Hob to draw the courage to ask Dream for a date. He wanted it to be perfect.
Back to the present – The cottage
“What are you thinking about, beloved?”
“When you came back, at the New Inn. It was the best birthday present you could gave me.”
Morpheus kissed him lovingly and sweetly.
“I do hope you will like this one.”
He got up and went to the wardrobe. He came back with a little box. Hob sat on the bed, an expression of surprise on his face.
“Morpheus?”
“My beloved, my best friend, I’m not an easy person to be with but you know my flaws and still love me.” He opened the box. “Will you marry me?”
The summer sun at his zenith was pale in comparison of Hob’s smile.
“Yes!”
This was the best birthday ever.

My own photos or a mirror - Whenever I can only a little bit, I take photos of what I need to draw. If the angle and position allow, of course. I specifically do this with hands and sometimes facial angles.
Books - I studied the history of art and I'm an avid comic and art book collector, I often use art history books, comics, and art books to look for references or inspiration.
Pinterest - specifically for fashion ideas. Though I don't much like going there as it's a rabbit hole easy to fall into.
Sketchfab - a website where people working with 3D can purchase models and resources. It features a massive catalogue of user-made objects from human and animal models to objects and architecture. Without purchasing the model, you can still turn it into the angle you need and take a screenshot. I use this for ultra-difficult angles of models and objects, and for things like weapons at which I suck.
Stock photos. It's insane how much you can do with a dumb, basic stock photo. Especially if all you need is an inspiration for the angle and then you further up-play the pose, gesture, head angle and facial expression.
Bonus entry: Google pics. Yes, I'm THAT lazy. Google Images often lead to websites you wouldn't find otherwise that feature a parade of good resources. Recently, I was looking for some pictures of 19th century apartments and found an entire site that specializes in Victorian and regency resources.
