Druvis and Vertin? Aunt and niece.

Regulus? The Aunt that isn't actually part of the family biologically but everyone's just accepted her.

It's not just with the main story either, it's very obvious that Tooth Fairy plays the more responsible, parental role throughout the entire story of Green Lake.

Chapter 1: Beginning of the Fairy Tale

Narrated by Yexiao.

Narrator: The fairy tale began on an ordinary afternoon.

Narrator: I unwrap a piece of candy as I study my design. A news broadcaster is speaking on the TV in the cafe.

TV: Yesterday, a December Troupe director revealed in an interview with us, the casting for the protagonist in upcoming play "Leah the Candy Witch" has not yet been done.

TV: The troupe decided to find the best candidate for the role of the Candy Witch with a special method...

Narrator: My attention is on the sketch board in front of me. I don't pay much attention to the background noise from the TV.

Narrator: However, Nikki, who also happens to be at the cafe by coincidence, suddenly looks up from her design magazines and speaks up.

Nikki: Has the casting method for the Candy Witch changed?

Momo: Yeah, it wasn't like this the last time Nikki went.

Narrator: Hearing their conversation, I look up at the TV for a moment.

Yexiao: They will first select some candidates, train them for free, and then finally select the most suitable person for the role.

Nikki: It's so unusual. The last time I performed in the December Troupe, they decided on the cast via invitations and referrals.

Narrator: The Candy Witch is pretty much the mascot of the December Troupe. They already have a famous play called "Candy Witch and the Star Sea."

Nikki: Yexiao, do you want to play Leah the Candy Witch?

Yexiao: Me?

Nikki: I think you should give it a try. I was referred to them by a friend, too, myself.

Yexiao: What is the character like?

Nikki: Leah is kind of an eccentric person. She lives in a candy house deep in the forest and is always doing unpredictable things.

Narrator: I only learn later that there is more than one Candy Witch. There are nine in total. Each witch has a different personality and preference for sweets.

Narrator: In this play, Leah is the youngest among the Candy Witches.

Nikki: If you take up this role, you're also allowed to personally design your costumes for the play.

Narrator: It sounds like a good opportunity to do some design work.

Momo: The December Troupe is like a big family. The staff is very friendly. After work, everyone often gets together for hotpot...

Nikki: Well, hotpot is the most convenient after all as there are so many people in the troupe. Back when I worked with them, I got to try many different hotpot flavors.

Yexiao: That sounds really good.

Nikki: I know some troupe members. If you want, I can sign you up for the casting.

Narrator: I lower my head again, looking at my unfinished drawing. An idea enters my mind.

Narrator: Maybe I can design costumes for the play... or join the crew for hotpot.

I still can't get the unused concept art of Wish out of my head so I've been reading a lot of rewrites and looking at a lot of Wish redesigns...

So... I got inspired. I'm currently conceptualizing my own Wish "rewrite/redesigns", but with a twist. It's gonna be a spiritual "prequel", cuz idk I feel like being meta since we'll be using the original concepts before the final concepts/decisions made for the final movie XD

Many of my "prequel" characters will be stand-ins for the canon characters! So "Asha" will be renamed "Amala", "Magnifico" will be called "Mamoun", and so on. Think of Pokemon Legends: Arceus regarding the relations of these "OCs" with the canon characters.

Anyway, here are the designs I have so far! I only have the designs for Amala and the Star for now. Hopefully, I can get to draw the other characters soon, especially Mamoun and his wife.

The story will be called "Once Upon a Wish"

Here's an overview of what I have so far... Some details may change if I feel like my other choices serve the story better. (Also, small disclaimer, this is just a veryyy self-indulgent AU made by yours truly, so some details may not be accurate with the canon lore present in Wish)

The story takes place on the same island of Rosas, but from many years ago. If my research is right, canon Wish takes place in the 1200s, so maybe my "prequel" can take place in around the 900s-1000s. Rosas definitely wasn't called Rosas back then, but I'm still figuring out what to call it so I'm just gonna refer to it as "an island".

Amala is a shy, meek, but hardworking apprentice of the island's head sorcerer Mamoun (hence, her color palette looks similar to Mickey's outfit from The Sorcerer's Apprentice). Despite all her hard work in her magic studies, she doesn't really excel at using magic, making a lot of accidents during training. If there's anything she really excels at, it's the act of storytelling (She can draw/animate, sing, and write stories like fairy tales).

Amala also has a little sister Ayah, who I can imagine is the Lilo/Anna to Amala's Nani/Elsa. Ayah is spunky and cheerful, but she has an illness that makes her disabled. The sisters are orphans, but they live under an old family friend they affectionately call Grandpa Dabir. Dabir is a retired bard turned doctor who was part of a troupe with 6 other former bards, all of whom he and the sisters still interact.

💀 Your students were fairly nervous, but they showed it differently

💀 Lucy was trying to smile through it, Natsu was just being a turd and asking so many questions, making Hades sweat nervously, and Gray would hide behind a cold exterior, reminding him of his younger brother, Poseidon

💀 He smiled as your students sat down at the table and introduced themselves, giving a small portion of their life stories as you scolded Natsu and Gray for acting like idiots

💀 Your personality and his clash at certain points, as you were quite impatient while he was very patient, it comes with raising three boys that all clashed in personalities

💀 Natsu was very excited about meeting Hades, but after a while, he began to dig deeper into your time together before eventually asking why you picked him, not wishing to sound rude, of course!

💀 You just chuckled and looked at the three young kids and looked deeply into your husband's eyes before saying

" I swore to never marry someone without any purpose in life, but, he was far different. Many Gods are very arrogant, and as you'd expect, get on my nerve quite easily, not him. He's patient, caring, and very tender when need be. I value that in him, and while some will oppose our connection, I could care less. He's my one and only no matter what. "

🔱 You looked at the young girl and let Natsu's ear go as he groaned and rubbed it, trying to relieve some of the resonating pain your hold left

" Of course, why? " " Well, he's a God, you're a mage. Did the others allow this? " " So what if they did or didn't. Being different sub-species doesn't make us any less in love with one another. He may be a God, and I may be a mage, but love is love, no matter the person or their ranking in society. "

Like, no wonder Elodie joined a troupe of nihilistic-burn-the-world-queens. Everything in that vulnerably brutal conversation with Gerard leads me to believe that she knows exactly what the plan is--a true fucking ending.

Elodie experienced the slow, devastating rot of falling out of love with her husband after happily ever after and then had to find his dead half-mutated frog body after he was in a battle against Cinderella’s fairy god mother.

No one warned her about that story within a story.

Of course it destroyed her to know that the cursed frog she so easily and simply fell in love with, whose curse she broke with a kiss to the top of his slimy froggie head, was dead in a battle he didn’t sign up for and had no business being a part of in the first place.

Snow and Cinderella probably didn’t have to try very hard to convince her.

And honestly, it isn’t a hard sell.

Princess, you are forever stuck in a story where you will repeat the same events, feel the same emotions, go through the same highs, the same lows, and some details will change, but the ending won’t. Some versions are happier than others but literally, because of reasons, the worse it is, the more drama you experience, the better the story.

We have a way to end it, but we need your help. Are you in?

I think an all-boys school is a good idea because medias like Ever After High and Descendants,usually have female lead main casts and usually have men in sidelined a bit. It is interesting to have men having focused in this kind fairytale troupe.

Agreed! ^^ Fairy tales and exploring feelings/relationships are traditionally thought of as “feminine” things, which is total BS 😤 I enjoy Ever After High and Descendants as their own separate properties, but I can admit that the male characters were far less developed and had less screen time than their female counterparts did. Women taking center stage is the trend in most fairy tale-themed media.

I appreciate that TWST is a fairy tale-adjacent property that lets the narrative be told from an overwhelmingly male perspective, from the variety in fashion to the actual stories being shared. What’s more, the focus of canon content is on the general importance of male friendships. It’s something we don’t see very often, especially in many modern cultures where men are often discouraged from seeking help for their troubles or from being vulnerable around their peers.

Farigiraf | Zarifa | The curator of her own museum. She has a fondness for the old, dusty, magical, and especially cryptic.

Falinks | Hexa Semestre | Genius inventor, master of technology, immature brat, and super full of herself. Very much chaotic neutral, she's prone to nice and naughty acts alike, but it heavily depends on her mood and whoever is paying her with the tastier snacks.

Whirlipede/Scolipede | Latrielle | A high-ranking member of a secret evil organization. She specializes in taming and breeding dangerous beasts and insects with her unique charm and strange magicks.

Ribombee | Talis | A teeny tiny pollen collector and seller. Using her fairy intuition, she's able to tap into the mystical power of flower pollen, and turn them into a powerful healing substances and painting materials.

Sylveon | Pennon | An energetic acrobat who's part of the Glaceon Twins' performing troup. She also part-times as a candy shop clerk. Which candy shop, you ask? All of them.

Hiya! I started listening to the Lost Terminal because you mentioned it on here. I'm a few seasons in and really loving it. My friend is looking for some new narrative pods and I know you listen to a bunch. Got any suggestions? They can be finished or ongoing.

Oh do I! Have a couple, in alphabetical order:

Absolutely No Adventures - An outright pratchettesque fantasy parody about a (very) Chosen One who has studied the art of baking instead heeding the call to adventure and refuses to go on any quests.

Care and Feeding of Werewolves - A (in-universe) podcast addressing current events and issues in the (American) paranormal community, hosted by a witch and medical practitioner. Has very good plot and worldbuilding.

Folxlore - Queer horror podcast set in Glasgow. Excellent show. "This apartment complex is very haunted, extremely cursed, and it sometimes randomly shifts to an eldritch nightmare realm. Everyone here's queer though, including the building itself. 4 stars out of 5."

Gabriela & The Inn Between - A recent botany undergrad takes a job as Innkeeper at an inn with very strange and unusual guests. Cozy and low-stakes.

Gastronaut - Set a couple hundred years from now, a food journalist travels from Earth, then Mars, then a distant space colony. He's pathetic but in a good way. Excellent food descriptions, nice anti-capitalistic and anti-colonialist themes. Higher stakes and fewer steaks than expected.

Ghost Wax - I've always disagreed with the idea that necromancers are always evil. This show agrees - it's a horror podcast about an ancient necromancer solving supernatural murders by interviewing the victims. Very thrilling. Many feels.

Icarus Rising - Queer airship pirates! Stow-aways! Rebellion! Chases and Thrills! High-stakes drama and action among the clouds! An adorable ship cat!

Kalila Stormfire's Economical Magick Services - Very cool story about witches, fairies, werewolves, and more, a story about what makes a community, about modern-day working class neighborhoods, psychology, love, and of course magic.

Parkdale Haunt - This one I haven't listened to yet, but I've heard very good things about it. It's a horror show about a haunted house, set in Toronto, made with love for that city. Disregard this suggestion if you don't like Toronto, I've never been.

SCP: Find Us Alive - A podcast set in the SCP universe, about a site getting sucked into some sort of pocket dimension that keeps resetting in a sort of time loop. Very interesting cast of characters. Requires minimal knowledge about how the SCP Foundation works.

Starfall - Fantasy audio drama about the adventures of a theatre troupe that uses magical items and illusions in their work, and about a young warrior with mysterious powers who joins them.

Tell No Tales - Horror story about a company that specialises in removing ghosts from haunted places. The protagonist quickly becomes concerned about the ethics of that and tries to prove that they need to start treating spirits with the humanity they deserve.

The Antique Shop - Urban Fantasy drama about a student getting a job at the kind of antiques shop that you only find when you need to. Lots of cursed items. An excellent cat. Queerplatonic relationships.

The Mistholme Museum of Mystery, Morbidity, and Mortality - An AI audio tour guide shows you various interesting exhibits and learns how to be a person. There's lots of feelings here.

The Strange Case of Starship Iris - Sci-Fi story set in the aftermath of a war between Earth and extraterrestrials. It's about outer space, survival, espionage, resistance, identity, friendship, found family, romance, and secrets. The intro song is excellent.

The Tower - A young woman climbs an ancient, unfathomably tall tower from a forgotten age. It stretches up into the sky, through the smog and the clouds. Very vibes.

The White Vault - Travel Is Not Advised. Very scary story about what's been hiding below the ice and the stone. What's been slumbering for ages. What's now beginning to wake anew.

Hatters caught some Supernatural Being, in a long abandoned Manor, in the outskirts of Gotham. It's an Alice in wonderland fever dream. Complete nightmare of a family team up. People sent through walls, weird mists and mysterious goos. Nothing good can come of this.

But they got people to save.

Save them, they do.

The Being is so Grateful~☆. Tim is outside talking to the cops. Warning them of the hazards they found. The Being? Couldn't HELP? But noootice~♡? That their Heros look so very TIRED! So TENSE and UPSET! Heeeere *covers them with something glowing before they can react* that should fix iiiit~♡ ;) ! *poofs away*

They are understandablely alarmed.

God damn it, Magic. Yes, the very concept of it and all the creatures there-in. Get out of their city. They head home. Decontamination showers for DAYS. Everybody gonna get one. Better call Zatana.

Thing is? That shower sure is warm, huh? Those clean clothes sure are COMFY, huh? They don't notice they are drifting off. Getting sleepy. Except Tim.

He notices.

Oh shit. The fall asleep. OH SHIT. Bruce was TYPING. Mid fuckin sentence! PANIC! They turn into gemstones. WHAT MAGICAL FUCKERY-!?

It's about to be a long, loooong few days for JLA Dark. Tim did NOT go on a one man crusade across the planet just to lose his whole ass family to SOME ACTUAL FAIRY'S BULLSHIT. D:<

But this is not ABOUT his side of the story! Is it?

Let's start with Bruce. The sleepy feeling passes. Of course. He has excellent self-discipline. His kids wander upstairs, after patrol exhaustion pulling them away. All... all except Tim.

Who is worried.

Who paces behind him, making calls. Checking databases. Running tests. Exhaustion pulling at every line of him. But not willing to risk it. Bruce hates that he finds such... closeness in this. In the chaos of things gone wrong.

It's like how they were back then. Just another crisis to solve.

The results come in.

He does not let himself be disappointed. This is a GOOD thing. A simple trick. Just a light show. They're fine. Which means...

But behind him? Tim doesn't leave as expected. He mutters in relief, sags in exhaustion, and wanders closer.

Bruce glances up. Perhaps it the exhaustion. He wishes it wasn't. That he hadn't made such a mess of things. That there wasn't such DISTANCE. But... he'll take what chance he can. Anything to mend some of the damage between them.

And Tim DOES look exhausted. Like he's barely standing. It's far worse then when he last saw him a few days ago. Should he say something? Is it overstepping? There was a time when it wouldn't have been.

Tim leans over his shoulder, braced on his chair, to get a better look at the results. Or at least.. he pretends too. His eyes aren't tracking. They stare blankly at the screen as he seems to consider something.

He takes the mouse. To all appearances, casual, as he flips through Bruce's scan report.

Looking for something.

He slumps closer, when he doesn't find it. His hand "accidentally" running over the anti-krptonian sound generator, turning it on. Half drapped across Bruces back, mouth next to his ear.

"You're The Only One I Can Trust..."

We turn now, to Dick. What fantasy does HIS heart hold?

They are tired. Bruce, testing and testing. Being unreasonable. He calls several of his magical contacts from his time at the Titans. It's a genuine, no joke, blessing he's told. "Clarity" he's told in far more words then necessary.

Jason has already stormed off. Damian is starting to snipe. And Tim? Looks ready to cry. At the end of his rope. Frazzled and afraid, certain someone's gonna die. Unable to find anything no matter how many tests he runs because there nothing TO find.

This time... this time Dick can do better. He breaks it up. Sends Damian to bed and tells Bruce he can run whatever tests he damn well wants. Dick already called the experts. They're FINE.

He makes sure to look Tim direct in the eyes when he says the next bit. They're gonna be okay.

He pulls his little brother into a hug. Like he should have done a long time ago. Timmy MELTS against him. Clings like he's a lifeline. He drags him off to bed. His room, since Tim doesn't seem like he wants to let go any time soon.

And Tim? In the dark of his room? Whispers like he's at some sort of confessional.

"I can't do it anymore, Dick. I just CANT. I think... I think I'm going to retire..."

Of course, not every situation flows so seemingly seamless. Jason? Suspects.

He argues with himself, torn between wanting to believe and the paranoia born of being a Bat. Of nice things holding terrible prices. Watches little Red gesture with his slice of pizza, as he rants, about Dickhead being exactly what his name suggests and the family following suit.

Timbers, in his safe house? With pizza and that fancy new drink, that he hasn't told anyone he likes yet? In tight, tight jeans. Agreeing with him. Sitting all close, leaning into him when he talks. Asking about his projects.

It feels like a trap. Too good to be real. He should probably-..!

And that's when Tim kisses him. Just crawls straight into his lap, tasting like pizza and wet dreams, and plants one on him. His brain cuts out.

It starts MELTING, when the body in his lap starts to grind. Rocking perfect, strong, little hips against his cock. Timberts won't be getting his jeans back. They got in the way and take to long to remove. If he doesn't get half his hand inside the tight little body onto of him YESTERDAY, he's gonna cry.
