There really should be more GOTG and X-Men crossovers in the comics (and maybe eventually in the movies whenever they give us our damn prep school fam) because they’re tied for Marvel’s definitive found family. I need them all to bond. They even have connective tissue via Kitty Pryde GIVE IT TO ME NOW-

I just binged Love For Love's Sake and my brain gears are spinning...
I've only briefly looked through the tag, but I've seen basically two theories about the "game world" that Myungha wakes up in.
*** SPOILERS AHEAD ***
1) His author friend immortalized him in a book/game after his death and he's living out that story in the "game world".
2) The "game world" is happening in the moments as he's dying and in a gray space between alive and dead (hense all the warnings about the penalty for failing a mission being "death"), and ultimately he ends up dying but being allowed to return to the "game world".
What's interesting to me about either take is, regardless of how or why Myungha ended up in the "game world".... the world is pretty gay lol. Yeowoon develops a crush on him, Sangwon develops a crush oh him, Kyunghoon is revealed to have a long-distance boyfriend. I know that's not too uncommon in a BL, but go with me on this.
So with the friend-author theory, his friend either knew or suspected Myungha liked men to some degree and wrote his story accordingly.
With the happening-while-dying theory, the story was likely created using Myungha's own subconscious wants and needs.
But then I think of the few times in the show early on when Myungha seems hesitant or reluctant to get romantically involved with Yeowoon. Like when they went to the movies. Before Yeowoon showed up, Myungha was seeming nervous and muttering to himself like "oh I can't believe I'm going on a date with a guy", but again in a reluctant way more than a happy disbelief way. Then Yeowoon showed up and for a moment Myungha looked lovestruck and like he forgot how to breathe. He was clearly into Yeowoon, but there was still this lingering reluctance.
With that train of thought... If the "game world" is happening in the moments as Myungha is dying, and therefore drawing from his own subconscious... Maybe he had some repressed same-sex attraction feelings that were never actualized in real life (which could have also contributed to his depression), so in the "game world" those feelings were able to come to the surface and finally get to be fully actualized.
Cuz the angel/grim reaper/friend (who knows lol) that Myungha talks to in the black room just after he dies basically tells him that Yeowoon is a parallel to himself, and the "game world" (and Yeowoon) was made so Myungha could see himself (Yeowoon) from an outside perspective and quite literally learn to love himself.
And Yeowoon pretty freely and easily acknowledged his feelings for Myungha and acted on them.
And if Yeowoon is a parallel version of Myungha...

Finally allowed myself to read the last part of The Last Ronin.
Meh.
I don't know. Maybe it's because I read it after the hype, or maybe because I'm too critical, but it's not that great in my personal opinion. There was a lot of hard work put into it, sure, but it still falls flat.
A lot just really had to do with the villain. He's so ridiculous. He's too new. Pathetic. There's not much weight to him or his actions or words.
I'm still miffed about how the deaths of the brothers were handled. Especially the last two. They feel glossed over.
I don't care for CMJ. She's there. She wants to be a ninja. But her relationship with the Ronin isn't as deep or heartbreaking. Sorry. It's very "oh you're my long lost uncle we thought was dead let's train for a few days (weeks?) together ohno the end."
I dunno. I've got more feelings than well formulated thoughts.
Really don't care about reading The Lost Years either. At first, I thought it was going to be a more detailed look into the Ronin's journey between parts 3 and 4, but it's the TMNT: The Next Generation.
Meh.
(Also, the sound effects were so... the way they were drawn applied? formatted? typed? laid out were pretty unimpressive. Not much oomph. Like whimpers. Not that I could do better but I'm no professional.
Also also, I think maybe some of the layouts could have been arranged better especially for important moments? I dunno. Again, not a professional.)

I really need to stop rambling to people in real life about my current obsession.
Because I'm pretty sure, I'm quite annoying with my 86 messages about old (and most of the time dead) men.

Mankai Stage Act 2 Spring 2022
ACT 2 FINALLY CAME TO MANKAI STAGE!!!
I watched the last available showing on dmm, which was a little more than a week ago, so I'm a bit disappointed that I can't write a more fresh review, but I was busy and now I have the time and energy to write down my thoughts for what I watched.
I have many thoughts and feelings, but the overall feeling I had was just... Tears. I cried so much during this show, lololol. Everyone's acting is so good! You could tell that the actors were really invested in their characters.
I will be honest though, it didn't really feel like a Mankai Stage, stage play. I think it's because I'm so used to with what they were like before, that with the many changes, it felt like I was watching a different production company. Like, the stage for one, is MUCH bigger. I kind of miss that little homely feel that Mankai Stage had previously, but it does give you a sense of, 'wow, Mankai Company grew a lot. No wonder they're able to afford looking for a 6th troupe member.'
And the format changes. Usually, there's two plays per show, but this time there's only one. Which is understandable, since the main stories in Act 2 are so much longer than those in Act 1. If I were to describe this show, then before intermission was centered on Masumi, and after intermission was centered on Chikage.
Speaking of Masumi, another thing that made it feel like a different company was that there were a lot of new actors. Masumi, being one of them. Now, the new actor for Masumi is great. He's a great actor, good singer, etc. But he plays Masumi in a different way than Hikaru did. And that's not his fault, it's just a different Masumi than I'm used to. So I think it'll just take time for me to get used to him. Same goes for Yuzo.
Despite all these changes, Spring 2022 was great. Chikage's actor is awesome! He was really able to capture Chikage's switch, from being the polite, perfect troupe member one moment, to being one second away from committing a crime to the next.
There were so many Gekka scenes. I cry every time. Hisoka, you made me cry every time. And August is there! You can't see his face, but he's there!
Tsuzuru's zombie number was great. Absolutely no lyrics, just him groaning. Yes.
I'm still bitter that there was no Tasuku, lololol.
Also, Mankai Stage is determined to go the same absolutely no-woman-on-stage-route that the game does, since there was no actor for Masumi's grandma. Like. Masumi's dad's secretary had an actor (with a really deep voice), but no grandma, lololol. The actors talk to the audience, just like they do when they talk to the director.
Ok, speaking of director, Chikage does kidnap the audience!!! They blacked out the whole venue, so you see absolutely nothing, and all you hear is Chikage's voice, just as if you were wearing a blindfold. And then suddenly you're in a dimly lit room.
But you know the scene were Izumi bugs Chikage to recite the lines with her? I think they manipulated that scene pretty well using their staging and Sakuya, lol.
One thing I am kind of disappointed about, was there was no family scene with them calling Chikage grandpa (or at least, I didn't catch it), but what I DO APPRECIATE, is that they copied the sleepover scene EXACTLY the same as the CG!!!!! Citron and Itaru cuddled up against Chikage, and Tsuzuru sleeping in that wtf awkward angle, lololol. That scene was just extremely cute.
Oz was done really well. To be honest, it was probably only possible because of the new stage that they got. They played around a lot with their space.
And the actors, once again, were able to greet the audience during the finale! I guess Covid restrictions are lifting in Japan at this time.
Spring 2022 was a lot of fun!!! I can't wait to buy the DVD to watch it again, and the backstage! If any of you watched it, I'd love to hear your thoughts on it!

CK questions LoK Ancients
So I went on a one sided tangent today while working on crafting/house chores and having LoK cutscene videos playing as background noise.
Makes me just, more and more, want Amy Hennig to answer certain questions about the Ancient Vampires because the more I sit and listen, even after all these goddamn years, my brain is like HEY WAIT A MINUTE!
Cut for reasons.
“-inflicting us with a predatory blood thirst, but then came our enemies true revenge: immortality."
So did the A.Vamps eat like normal people? What DID they eat? Did the Hylden basically make them do a 180 when they cursed them? Were they vegan and mortal and then suddenly BAM now you're the beasts of the night?
"Curse or blessing, it is the price we pay to keep the Hylden banished from the land."
This just, my god this is such shit from Janos. From close up and only siding with one race, you only see a portrait of holiness, right? Janos in this halo of gold doing "good" waiting for the messiah, but if you actually step back and look at the whole picture, there is nothing but genocide, xenophobia and other horrible shit within the panoramic view of it all.
We think at first, aw Janos what a good bean, he's just a soft priest man but then if you actually remember the entire reason he's there is to literally gate-keep a race of people sent to suffer for eternity only because of their opposite opinion of religious following?? FUCKIN YIKES.
It makes me realize that these games came out, especially Defiance right after 9/11 and well, IT'S FUNNY THAT I'M WRITING THIS NOW ON SAID DATE.
Speaking of religions, did each sect of A. Vamps look/dress differently?
I bring this up because going back into SR2, the temple forges all follow different types of early human irl religions. Light reaver leaning towards Egyptian, Air reaver with Aztec, Dark reaver seems very Norse? I could be wrong please someone correct me, and then we have the fire reaver which looks like it's in a gothic catholic church and given Janos' attire and accent? That checks out.
To add to this: They all worship the same God, but they all gave praise to him differently. Thus me speculating about the different sects.
With different looks of dress and possible different ways of worshiping the same God, did their skin tone also change if say they didn't live in the immediate location of Nosgoth? Like, they're apart of "a world" right? Nosgoth can't be their entire world. It's certainly a pangaea of "Europe" but I'm wondering if say the different forges for the reaver scattered about Nosgoth are like emissaries for the different sects that don't reside in Nosgoth? The Air and Light A. Vamps being prime examples.
And if so, are they a possible darker shade of blue? Like how human skin tones change depending on where they live on the planet and their melanin levels?
How in the Hell did their community/society work?
I mean we get a taste of it with the Pillar Guardians being regarded highly but like, were they that heavily religious where say, we’ll use Janos as an example (because the man DID make the first Human into a Vampire), he’s gotta have some sort of high status?
Would he be considered a High Priest? Or a Pope?  Cardinal? Like, he was also at the last minute was given the role as the 10th Guardian I’m sure it wasn’t for shits and giggles, Janos definitely kept the pot stirred while in their post-war recovery.
Speaking of Priestly-ness, what would their religion be called?
No seriously I’m wondering about this constantly...
I also bring all these questions up because Amy and whoever else made up this stuff for this series basically gave us the core, one dimensional concept of the A.Vamps and was like :) That’s it.
“What about A, B, or C?”
“Just Janos.”
“But there’s gotta be more, right?“
“Hahah no.”
Like even with Raziel resurrecting Janos and the shit he tells us, IT’S STILL NOT ENOUGH. You can’t do all of this IN A STORY BASED GAME and be like yeah, that’s enough :D we don’t need to know about the literal details on how THE LITERAL VAMPIRE HYLDEN HOLY CRUSADES STARTED
I HATE TO USE A TEMPLAR MEME BUT IT FUCKING WORKS. WHAT A SHIT CYCLE HOW THE ANCIENT VAMPIRES PULLED A HOLY-WAR TEMPLAR MOVE ON THE HYLDEN TO THEN GET SNUFFED OUT BY THEIR OWN BULLSHIT TEMPLAR WAYS WITH HUMANS BY HUMANS.
Tumblr media
And I think that’s enough I seriously needed to get this OUT of my head, JFA.

GO S3 thoughts/crack-theory-speculation/stuff I think about
Hey, we all know and joke about the 'angel/demon sharing a corporation = explode' thing, but I just thought it would be cool if we get proof it's possible because Gabe and Bee just show up in one body S3. Aziraphale and Crowley already showed us angels and demons can exchange bodies and they can do all the same things with just a slightly different tilt to them. Unless it's dancing, they can all do that in a Pride and Prejudice fashion.
So... yeah. That's it. We've already seen Gabe with brown eyes because Jim. I just got a mental image of Bee with purple eyes and it kinda broke my brain

The manga industry, especially JUMP, needs to hurry up and do away with weekly scheduling for mangaka. There needs to better regulations put into place for their health and safety because this is pitiful. Two weeks - monthly updates should’ve already been the standard for the manga industry at this point. These money grabbers will only continue to put the lives of these artists at stake for the sake of capitalism unless some serious changes are implemented.

I know a lot of comic book fans are tired of dark and gritty film adaptations of their favorite heroes and crave for some levity and humor again.
And then there's TMNT fans, especially the older ones, who just really want some mature turtle content with grittiness.
And levity of course.
We crave well balanced storytelling.
At least I do.

Summer Troupe Live 2021
For some reason, I thought that these troupe lives would be formulaic, that they’d all be similar to Spring’s, just different songs. But I was wrong.
I’m not sure if it was because Spring 2021 was Masumi’s actor’s last performance, or if Harugumi’s vibe is just nostalgia or what (since it’s the season of beginnings), but I felt like Spring Troupe Live was trying really hard to give the audience the feels and make them cry. And it worked. But the vibe for Natsugumi was so different! In this one, the overall vibe was just, fun. Everything was just so stinking cute and so so fun.
And throughout the whole performance, you could tell that the actors were having so much fun, and just. I love Natsugumi so much because of their bond, you know? And their bond was just so prevalent throughout the whole show.
All of the new songs in their album are so much fun. My personal favorite was Tenma’s. Just. The way that they coordinated everything, you can just see that Tenma treasures Natsugumi so so so much.
Just like in Spring, they remixed a previous song.
So similar to Spring, there’s a mini storyline, but this time, there was no mention of a new member. Instead, the focus was on Tenma, who seemed to be acting really down/stressed after one of his drama shootings. This really worries the others. Yuki happened to take a peek at a script, and discovered that it was in a school setting. Misumi surmises that since Tenma never had an everyday, mundane school life, this is something that saddens him, because it’s something he’ll never truly experience. And Misumi can relate (that Misumi angst though). So Kazunari thinks of a plan to give Tenma, that everyday school life.
Omg guys, this is so funny. Kazunari in a gakuen with a soccer ball, being the friend role. Yuki in a sailor uniform playing the crush. And then MUKU! MUKU’S IN A POMPADOUR PLAYING THE YANKEE!!! This had me rolling!!!
And then Misumi gives Tenma a school blazer so that the both of them can experience the everyday school life and proceeds to break out into a song. A remix of Sankaku wa Sekai wo Sukuu (or Triangles Save the World). And it’s so cute.
To kill time while the actors are changing, Matsukawa does another Mankai sketch with Sakoda, but Sakoda isn’t on stage. Instead, he’s on zoom. So they’re Remote Tempa(Curly Hair) Yankee! And. Major props to Matsukawa because he had to execute perfect timing to act with Sakoda’s pre-recording. It was very well done.
And the background dancers are the same as Spring Troupe Live! They’re so cute and they definitely will start to grow on you. I hope they’re the same for the other lives too!
Ok. But let me talk about my absolute fave part of this performance. At the end, all the actors bow, and then leave, save for Tenma. His back is towards the audience, and he’s about to leave too. But just before he does, he points to the sky. Showing off just one finger, then he opens his hand to show off five. It’s super symbolic to show that he used to be alone, and now there’s the five of them. And it’s just. Absolutely so sweet. I have so many feelings.
Overall, just watching Summer Troupe Live is enough to give you a good time. So if you guys want to watch, I highly recommend it!
